Loki: *tries and fails to hold in a squeak*

Nina: *chuckles* Glad you guys are hitting it off.

Nina: I know, pup, me too. We'll be back real soon.

Shriek: With presents?

Nina: You know it! Hey, you wanna hop on the den den with your dads for a bit so Loki and I can talk? Kid wants to tell you about the new bites he got in the jungle.

Shriek: Are they all infected and bloody? 😃

Nina: 'Ay, careful there! Don't drown the snail!

Loki: Oh! Speaking of snails, I'll need one for my podcast!

Loki: My parenting podcast cataloging all I've learned about child-rearing!

Nina: In two weeks?

Loki: It'll be called "Prince of Parenting: All Other Fathers Are Losers Except for Me, The Prince of Parenting And Also Elbaf"

Shriek: We are! If we get hungry, Papa always makes sure we have a late night snack. Soooo we’re gonna have ice cream sundaes and chocolate milk! 😌

Loki: Let me tell you something, I know what’s going on here. Your parents are gone, so it’s “let’s take advantage of the stepdad who doesn't have much babysitting experience” time. Well, I got news for you, half-pints. The Prince of Elbaf is a little too sharp to be taken on that ride!

Loki: Now you can have ice cream and chocolate milk, but no cookies! 😤😤

Ziggy: *relieved dooks*

Shriek: *eating the ice cream with a spade* Wow. You really know how to put your foot down.

THEY START TO GET ALONG SHE LAUGHS WITH HIM WE HAVE CONTACT

Loki: Alright, the little ones are all dressed for bed.

Shriek: For bed or Bed, Bath, and Beyond?

Ozzy and Ziggy: *chasing each other around while wearing curtains like togas*

Loki: I've heard Kanina say she calls it a win so long as they're clothed in something, so that's the metric for success tonight.

Shriek: *brushing her fangs* You just keep living in that world. 🙄

Loki: Perhaps what you need is a change in perspective! *takes the house and flips it upside-down so the kids are on the ceiling*

Shriek: Whoa! This is weird!

Loki: Oh? Aren't you upside-down all the time?

Shriek: Yeah, but they aren't! *giggles as her brothers tackle her and all the kids get tangled up in the sheets, causing Shriek to drop her toothbrush up to the floor*

Loki: *chuckling* Well, you brats have a tent so why don't you head over to the campfire?

Shriek: *laughing as she, Ozzy and Ziggy try to climb along the tilting ceiling to the ceiling lamp* We're trying! 😆😆

Loki: Oh so close! *tips the house right-side up again, causing the kids to squeal*

Shriek: *flapping down as Ozzy and Ziggy float down on their curtain togas like parachutes*

I had so so so much fun drawing Shen! Originally I was gonna give the piece more of an elegant feel, but as an avid reader of Marooned (if you haven't read this fic literally go do it rn bro) I felt elegance just wasn't her dominant vibe. I struggled hard ASF (as you can see in the speed paint) with the lighting, but overall I'm proud of how Shen and Mini came out ❤️

Loki: I too used to throw myself into various activities to distract from the endless well of despair that clung to me throughout my life. When that failed, I went down to the Underworld. Why don't we go down there and hunt something for dinner? You can pick.

Shriek: You mean it? 😯 Wait, but I thought all the animals down there were your friends?

Loki: Just the non-delectable ones.

Shriek: Okay, but I get the killshot too! Wait, maybe Ziggy should get the first kill. He's a carnivorous zoan, so he's gotta practice his hunting!

Loki: We're not doing that.

Shriek: DAMN IT! 😤😤

Loki: *playing with Ziggy like a slinky as Ozzy happily tugs Loki's ear* Believe me, I don't want them to leave either. They already had an entire wedding, I should be the one getting to go on a boat trip with Kanina to lands unknown!

Shriek: Oh, you can still go on a boat trip to lands unknown. Like right now. Get on a boat and go. Please?

Loki: No, I have a duty to carry out. From what I remember, children like games. Are there any that you wish to play right now?

Shriek: Well, actually....

[[a short time later]]

Loki: *repeatedly getting hit with cannonballs* The sky apple's still there, lass!
