2001ish - Cycle
((Content warning: none))
Genre: general
Romance level: minor
Angst level: 2/5
Draco's headspace: reflective
((words: ~1100))
------------------------------------
Draco looked up when Theo entered the room. He had papers and books spread out in front of him on the table, sofa, and chairs, taking over the entire parlour in research materials. "My grandfather was a Death Eater," he announced.
"Okay," Theo said as he sat down with the beer the house elf silently provided. "The first Minister was a Hufflepuff."
Draco shook his head sharply. This was huge, he just wasn't explaining himself properly. "No, I mean, my father's father was a Death Eater. Look at these dates." He pushed a paper up on the table.
Theo groaned as he levered himself back up and came to sit on the arm of Draco's chair so he could see. "What am I looking at?" Draco had made some sort of complicated chart that he didn't feel like deciphering, with a bunch of bars starting and ending at random across the page and labelled lines crossing various sets of them.
"This is the important part." He folded the paper to isolate a section around the second third where he had drawn a line straight down through all the other bars. "1970, when Voldemort returned to the country and started his campaign, my father was sixteen or seventeen — I don't have an exact date. His father was a very influential man who had already been secretly embarked on an anti-Muggleborn agenda," he briefly pointed out a line crossing one of the upper bars on the page, marked 1968, which Theo dredged from his memory had something to do with the first Muggleborn Minister for Magic. Ousted from office or something. "These people," he tapped the 1968 mark, "that's where he already had a base of support, organised enough to carry out their own conspiracy, just waiting to be tapped into. You get your message into the school to recruit soldiers and high-spirited lackeys who aren't going to think too hard about it when you tell them to go sow chaos, but for actual support, for a network of influence and control? You recruit these people."
It all made a lot of sense, but Theo shrugged a little bit. "Well, congratulations, I guess? You successfully proved that a twentieth-century Malfoy was most likely a Death Eater?"
"Not just a Death Eater. One of the originals, one of the forces behind his reign of terror."
He clapped Draco on the shoulder, firmly enough to rock him a little bit. "Welcome to the club." Considering his own father had been one of Voldemort's old school mates… "Which you were already a member of, because you already knew your father was basically his right hand, so…"
"By the end of the war — after his father had already died. At the beginning, he was just a student with too much pride and a family with too many wrong ideas, who got this," he turned his left arm, "when he was seventeen or eighteen because his father was in with Voldemort. You see? It's a cycle. The same thing just keeps happening over again."
"I think that's a stretch."
"It isn't."
"There is a pretty big difference between you," Theo pointed out, draping his arm over Draco's shoulders. "You didn't want to be there."
"You are giving me leagues more credit than I deserve," Draco said flatly. "Firstly, it took me almost two months to 'not want to be there', or at least admit it. You saw me at the beginning of that term, I was…" He shook his head. "Secondly, how long have you known me? You know I'm not exactly a wizard of naturally strong moral fibre. If Voldemort had been only infinitesimally less evil — if he had never threatened my mother and made me live in fear, even if he treated my father exactly the same — I would have actually been one. I might never have been the most enthusiastic killer, but I would have felt very powerful and important telling Crabbe and Goyle to do it. As long as the terror never turned against me, I would have made myself a nice little niche perpetuating it with, oh, probably the Imperius, and gotten progressively better at not thinking about any of it."
"After everything you know, do you really think that's true?"
"I know it." Draco leaned back, trapping Theo's arm in the seat, and summoned his glass of wine to hand. "I've had a taste of being truly feared. It's… intoxicating. Especially after you've felt helpless." He paused pensively, looking at nothing as he considered the old memory of people fleeing from him as he cursed Blaise after suffering too many bouts of detention at his hand. Now it had a little patina of shame over it, but at the time… "But it's not sustainable. I would have known the first and not the second, and ridden that to my inevitably pathetic death."
"Thank Merlin Voldemort was so evil, then."
"And that's a new record for most awkward thing I've ever heard someone say. Do you practise?"
"Yes, every night before I go to sleep." He ran his fingers through Draco's hair.
Draco looked distantly toward the table with his research on it, twirling his wine more than drinking it, for several minutes. "Why are we trapped in these cycles?" he finally murmured.
"We aren't. You became a halfway decent person. If my family had a theme, I guess it would be proud poverty and sycophantry, and I'm not living that."
"Not of our own accord." He glanced at Theo. "Well, you're you, so you probably didn't need any help. But it seems like people who are more normal can't get out of these roles without extreme outside interference. It's like we're doomed."
Theo ran his fingers back through Draco's hair again. "How long has it been since you slept?"
Draco raised two fingers without taking his attention off of his musings.
"I thought so; you're getting broody. Sleep tonight, all right?"
He nodded without commentary, and Theo kissed the side of his head.
He knew that Theo wasn't really the right audience for this; he genuinely had no appreciation for history, society, family… any of these things. It wasn't meaningful to him. But Draco couldn't get it out of his head, and Theo at least indulged him by listening, even if he didn't appreciate it. It was nice of him.
He'd write it out, he decided. Use Theo as a sounding board as much as he let him, and get his thoughts together on paper. Maybe it was the lack-of-sleep high talking, but it felt like an important truth.

one thing about steve harrington is that he sucks at doing nothing. like he has to be doing something with himself lest the guy waste away. this has led to him being very good at fucking around with things especially when its something relatively quiet. the loudest steve will let himself keep his hands busy while stuck idle is tossing whatever's in his hand to himself and catching it, which usually bodes well for sports practice after coach learned that just because he was moving didnt mean he wasnt paying attention(usually the opposite).
he learned how to flip a pencil around his thumb in middle school and seeing someone in one of the meetings he sat in on doing it. he'll twirl anything he can around in his hand, especially while he was working in the mall. the scoopers were perfect for it. and any way youve seen a drummer/percussionist fiddle with a drumstick, steve knew he had to replicate it.
but even with all this movement and the fact the guy was barely ever not moving, it seemed like no one noticed it ever. a fact that nearly drove eddie insane when they were in high school together. because he did have the reputation of being restless, and in a constant state of movement. and he probably fucked around with random shit less, so how did steve "the hair" harrington not end up with the same reputation? the answer was just that he was way more quiet("and sneaky" -eddie) about it. and if the teacher hated when their students fiddled and futzed he'd be sure to try and keep the movement below his desk.
but it not that he only has to keep his hands busy. no no no, if bored or stuck waiting, and that won't suffice, steve harrington will pick up anything with words just to read it. anything. outdated newspapers, ingredients lists, magazines of any topic. he just mindlessly grabs for whatever and starts fucking reading. Robin could swear under oath to a court that her best friend has read the back of every vhs in family video. hell, she's seen him reading drugstore novels, like the fucking grandma smut and books with cover art of nicely dressed ladies running from a castle. and its her jock best friend reading it, instead of some repressed suburban woman who hates her husband. yes, this information is the bane of robin buckley's exsistance because its not like anyone would believe her.
idk just give me steve being restless but doing it quietly enough that no one really picks up on it.

god Optimus Prime in tfp could have been so delicious. The man was in an anarchist cult and got godlike power by ACCIDENT. just a regular guy. then got branded a TRAITOR by his anarchist friends and has to deal with being a leader in a WAR against HIS FORMER FRIENDS that ended up destroying the entire planet and later endangering another. My man has imposter syndrome AND guilt/resentment over being branded the decepticon traitor. I'm frothing, I'm teeming, so cool that none of this was explored in canon, they made my man into a cardboard cutout, cool cool cool

Where I landed on Jean's eyes after some research is that he has kind of a vignette style dark halo around his vision so his peripheral vision isn't great and he's got corneal astigmatism, meaning the rough surface scatters light, so lights look like stars or have halos, making him functionally nightblind (like me! I have regular lens astigmatism, not corneal scarring).
Corneal scarring can also cause foreign body sensation meaning he'd feel like he has grit in his eyes constantly. He'd benefit from scleral lenses for that reason and it might improve the astigmatism a bit, but he doesn't have them because why bother (he should bother because he's incredibly irritable and feeling like he has shit in his eyes constantly surely doesn't help).
He still sees up close better than Kim and shoots decently in the daytime. Maybe muscle memory gets him by at night--I don't know much about aiming or shooting guns, to be honest. Dislike of lights/glare/reflection at night could be part of his distaste for MCs (cribbing again--I fucking hate night driving).
ETA because I just realized my tags obviously won't persist through reblogs. This is extrapolation based on several hours of googling. The only canon info we have is that there is visible eye damage. This is how I have furnished the version of the character that I, personally, write. I am not an opthalmologist, so medical info may not be 100% accurate.

Helki compilation
Helki is a prisoner-turned-servant. He’s a criminal canary and was implicitly one of Milsiril’s charges, and now that she’s retired he’s become her servant.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He must have gotten into Milsiril’s good graces, whether through attachment or convenience, which is a feat considering Milsiril’s a socially anxious recluse. Interesting since it’s not like he seems like the agreeable type, shifty upbeat delinquent style… We really don’t know much about him, not even what crimes he did, so there’s a lot of space for speculation on all grounds.
Edit: Shanghai QnA with Kui gave us a new juicy morsel of info!
Tumblr media
Interesting… The original question in chinese is: 米尔西里尔是怎么接纳海尔奇待在自己身边的?毕竟她讨厌精灵,还被金丝雀友欺负。 and the answer in japanese is: 海尔奇过去出过一些事,遭到了其他伙伴的抛弃,米尔西里尔对这样的人没法不伸出援手。That it’s written in japanese seems to say that there isn’t the same double translation issue there was last QnA, so if someone wants to look at the original phrasing and word choices it can be done. Perhaps Helki-Milsiril has a more protégé dynamic undertone than previously thought… "For various reasons", meaning that there were circumstances that made it so the squad had to choose between saving him and saving their own skin, or like, "man this guy’s personality sucks we don’t really like him"? Likely to be a mix of several things, since ‘for various reasons’ implies the situation had a lot of layers. Either way, the phrasing is very much that out of everyone Milsiril refused to abandon him, and so a relationship sprung out of that. Another instance of outcasts seeking out & sticking with other outcasts in Dungeon Meshi. This could mean that it’s a bit less out of personal attachment and more out of a sense of duty on Milsiril’s side as well, though.
Still edit: So then maybe him staying with Rin in that comic isn’t that much because of work ethics or that he cares for kids (or maybe he does because he feels kinship to them, alone and mistreated), but because he didn’t want to join the other canaries in that room chatting and laughing? Maybe the isolation was exacerbated because he became Milsiril’s favorite, teacher’s pet style, but I’d also be careful about assuming the others disproportionately dislike him, it could be that they just don’t really care for him. Why? Could be a lot of things, canary mentality, or because of his personality, because he’s seen as shifty or unreliable or annoying, if not an event, who knows who knows. But I like to think because of the Rin comic that he generally just tends to be a loner, that he’s "weird" in a neurodivergent vibe, he doesn’t conform to proper social behavior which in elven society seems especially alienating. He’s the only one to think of Rin's sake, not only sees her as worth observing/caring for but also asks her to eat— but he does this with an offputting stare, not really emoting, and then well, the infamous alone with her staring munching covered in blood panel. He stands out. I’m a fan of the theory that it was a "Helki? Not that I dislike the guy but I’m not risking my skin for him" situation… Ok end edit back to older observations.
He seemed to be acting out of his own initiative in the Rin comic, he doesn’t look thrilled to be there in many post-canary comics but he also seems content enough. He restrains Milsiril in the Mithrun cleaning comic which is interesting to think of for their relationship.
It’s fun to notice how he’s the only one that didn’t get bored of looking after Rin, and then reports back about her condition… I’d say he was getting used to taking care of kids which would come with the job of serving Milsiril, but then, not enough for him to clean the blood off himself hah. In this way it’s interesting to think about his relationship to the idea of parenthood, he’s probably the closest thing to a father figure/male role model Kabru had around him growing up, without mentioning the other kids as well. [Edit: the new modern AU art shows that he really did have a not unsignificant role in caring for the kids!] I feel like he’d consider himself an older brother, cousin or uncle figure sooo much sooner than a father, but even then I do think it’s just his job and he’s not really invested or forming real relationships with any of them much.
It’s curious to note that he’s dressed in canary uniform presumably after having been pardoned and living with Milsiril? Which you can tell by the armor bits (the yellow strips of spider silk). Specifically, in the Kabru training montage and the Rin comic. It seems very implausible for him to have still been a canary while being retired Milsiril’s servant and being with her all the time, and the cleaning with Mithrun comic (where he’s not in uniform) happens after Utaya, so it could happen after Kabru was taken in but around the time of the Rin comic. It is said that Helki was pardoned and Milsiril retired after their work in Utaya specifically, in the anime we also see a brief shot of canaries silhouettes at Utaya including Milsiril's, so combined with the Mithrun comic after Utaya and Mithrun's recovery efforts we have a pretty tight timeline of when they retired, year 499 when Utaya was destroyed to 500 when Mithrun became captain. (We know Mithrun started recovery efforts in year 480, but it's also hearing about Utaya that made Mithrun double his efforts, knowing the demon had struck again, so it's the next milestone we can use as reference point.) So why uniform? It could be one of the best outfits he has, so it’d make sense to wear it around especially if you’re sparring or getting… Blood on you? Could just be because that's how Milsiril wants him to dress. But yeah we don't know when exactly Helki becoming Milsiril’s servant happened. We do see Mithrun’s charge, Cithis, be tasked with taking care of him, so a charge being given a servant-caretaker role doesn’t seem all that out of the ordinary, sometimes even prior to retiring.
Imo, if he doesn't work for Milsiril he goes back to jail/the canaries/has to try and get a job instead of just tending to her, so Helki is staying with Milsiril because she's the best option for him. He’s Milsiril's personal servant and does mostly dull tasks of whatever she requires, cleaning, being a training mannequin, looking after kids. He’s not particularly suited to the role but they’ve gotten used to each other, she got used to him, so she took him with her, and he does prefer it to canary work so it works out decent for him. I think he’s used to reading her and managing her moods, he's evidently comfortable enough with her (and allowed) to physically restrain her when her emotions get the better of her, and he’s one of the rare social connection she has. Edit: The Shangai Q&A seems to point towards a deeper history and connection between the two. With Milsiril having implicitly saved Helki, it's likely he feels like he has to repay her, whether he's happy with that or not. But again, he seems content enough imo.
Under spoiler is stage 2 interpretation stuff, bigger speculation, in a reblog I’ll make soon I’ll go over my thoughts for stage 3 interpretation lol. Helsiril I’m coming for you
Translation of the canary hierachy chart used is by Thatsmimi, here.

Character Questions cont.
[master list]
38. Have they ever had to hurt someone else, physically or mentally, to save themselves or another person? Were they the same after the incident, or did it change them?
Theo:
Having to perform the Cruciatus curse in Dark Arts class on students who'd earned detentions. At first he didn't participate, but being too obvious about not trying earned corporal punishment, and he had a black eye from it for a while. The first person he successfully cast it on was Draco, who spent a solid chunk of the year in Detention; he'd been angry with him for something outside of class and he accidentally (or, he wonders, was it actually an accident?) actually did it. He did feel guilty about it, especially how vindicating it felt for a second.
Theo considers himself an observer, a habitual bystander, not someone who gets involved and certainly not someone who takes a stand on things. That convinced him that he really wasn't going to take part in that anymore, though, and by the end of the year he was drawing unwanted attention for his "inability" (unwillingness) to perform a proper curse.
Draco:
Tasked with assassination, under implied pain of death for himself and his family. There was never any good outcome for him. If he'd done it, it would have messed him up. However, the fact that he couldn't bring himself to do it when he had the chance also fucked him up. It's a source of shame for years afterward. Not that he wants to be a murderer, but his takeaway is that he's too weak and useless to even do what needs to be done protect people he loves.
Then he was forced to torture other Death Eaters for their failures, with the threat of suffering worse torture himself. He learned that it's possible to fuel a Cruciatus off of sheer fear and self-preservation, which is not a proud feeling, and cements his view of himself as a coward. But there was another dimension to it that he was socially adept enough to be painfully aware of - it wasn't just the torture that was the punishment, but that the torture was coming from him. He's so pathetic and useless that being tortured by him was especially demeaning, used as a way to humiliate people. It also drove home that he didn't have (wasn't allowed) any pride, because he'd do that just because he was told to, even knowing what it said about him.
The Muggle hunt he was made to participate in is also relevant. His father got him drunk first so he could handle it and he managed to not have to actually do anything ((subject to change when I actually write it)), but being there made him feel evil. He found out that there's a lot of space between mindlessly parroting rhetoric and actually taking action.
Bluntly, when he was 17 his entire sense of self-worth was destroyed, largely (though not entirely) by this, and it tore him down to just shame, so he could only see himself as useless and powerless and unworthy. He wouldn't really stand up for himself again for years, and continues to not really trust his own abilities. (It also damaged his relationship with his father, about the only one he felt equal with, in that they were both trash, though even then he knows his father is stronger than he is.)
Overall, not good.

yall ever have headcanons for the bad kids that youve fabricated from thin air???
bc ive convinced myself that fabian paints (like specifically realism) and/or plays the violin (rich kid shit)
fabian, riz and adaine have all started a mini bookclub where they each choose a book like every month to read (fabien usually chooses horrific romances, riz picks mysteries and adaine probably picks the widest range but sticks to (what would be for them) historical fiction)
gorgugs house is designated hang out place, digby and wilma dont mind them being there and its bigger than rizs apartment, less busy than mordrid manor and as much as fabians house is the biggest its less homey/cosy
kristen has started mandating 'mental check in nights' once a month, they play games, get takeaway and talk just to kinda check in yk (this mainly came around from all of them being absolutely terrible at telling/asking each other stuff whether mental health related or not)
idk how i got here but oh well

I rewatched Hashirama flashback episode and I just realized how evil Tobirama's line "what happened to Izuna" was... Like he's a best sensor so he should've known that injury was fatal
mm, disagree. sensing is pretty misunderstood by the fandom - it's a neat ability, but it doesn't give you 100% reliable information, and it's not like there aren't ways of getting around sensor types, something madara likely would've known quite well as he too is a very capable sensor type, and the only uchiha from the warring states era that we know was a sensor at all (there are only two other known uchiha sensors at all - obito and sasuke. if you count the novels there's also tekka but. who cares about tekka lol)
anyhow, tobirama's dialogue in the flashback has pretty much nothing to do with izuna at all.
それからイズナだな (pg 113, ch 623) - "and you're izuna"
that's the only line tobirama says to or about izuna at all, unless you count yelling "HIRAISHINGIRI" while slicing him open.
hashirama brings up izuna more, but also never by name. "our brothers" (pg 70, ch 621) and "do you not have any brothers anymore?" (pg 103, ch 623) are the only times in the flashback he refers to izuna via dialogue.
even as narrator of the flashback, he barely ever acknowledges izuna- he lumps him in under "the uchiha side" (pg 115, ch 624), hypothetically refers to him and tobirama from their father's standpoints as "their own children" (pg 117, ch 624), and indirectly references him when referring to madara as "an older brother with younger brother(s)". at no point does hashirama say izuna's name as the story's narrator or as the character he presents himself as within the story he's telling
izuna in-universe is pretty much exclusively a visual character - he fundamentally does not exist as an individual human being to anyone other than madara, no one else who talks about him had any real relationship with him (hashirama) or straight up was born years after he died (obito and itachi)
all that said, we don't know what happened to izuna. we know he died. we know it was (probably) as a result of the injury tobirama inflicted on him, though we don't know the specifics. we don't know how it looked to anyone who was in the general area at the time of izuna's passing. we don't know how it felt to any sensors nearby when he died. we definitely don't know if tobirama was even kneading chakra at the time of izuna's passing, something he has to be doing if he's going to be using his sensory abilities (as he himself acknowledges in the flashback - it's not a passive ability, he has to actively choose to do it)
fun fact: while one out of tajima's four lines in the flashback is prompted by a remark from izuna, he does not address him or make reference to him within said sentence at all. nothing he says makes any mention of izuna's existence. within the naruto universe, izuna is functionally a ghost

i wonder how horrible randall felt, for having felt this senseless hatred for henry. for wanting to put him in his place. for wanting to punish him. i wonder if he felt like his father, and hated himself for it, disgusted with the fact that he'd been tricked by anger into seeing henry as deserving nothing, tricked into becoming the man who once made him feel like nothing. and henry had saved randall from his father, once. a father who saw randall as worthless, while henry saw randall as worth everything: randall saw something human, something thinking and feeling and loving and living in henry, a person taught to see himself as nothing. unlike everyone else, henry believed in randall's dreams, for they were his own, for he was nothing without his brother, for his brother was the one who made him human. i wonder if randall ever knew henry's love for him was as much desperate obsession as it was brotherly affection... for even if randall loved him like a brother, henry always knew he was still a servant: the stray dog loyal to its master, for it knows anyone else would've kicked it. the castor to randall's pollux, one twin mortal and the other godly; and so one twin worships the other. henry saw randall's love not as a kindness, but as a gift he didn't deserve, a favor to be repaid again. and again. and again. and again. he would make himself worth being randall's brother, even if it might kill him: maybe because it might kill him. perhaps randall never realized how his gift would be received... and so henry became randall's father. and so randall became randall's father. and so they both saw this grand success in henry's hands as something that didn't belong to him, something he didn't deserve, something he'd stolen. randall's hatred was pure hatred, but henry surely saw the "truth" within: that randall regretted ever loving him, that randall no longer saw him as a brother, that he failed to fulfil the purpose bestowed upon him in his genesis as human. and that is what he will always see in randall's anger, his own deservedness of punishment. i wonder if, in retrospect, randall thought about how henry reacted after he was revealed as masked gentleman, how henry reacted to the horrible accusations he'd made... would randall not long for henry to be angry at him? is not anger the expression of feeling worthy of justice, after all? i wonder in what way randall will love him after this. part of why he loves henry so much is how much henry loves him, in a way so unconditional and patient and constant... but henry would not love randall so fervently if he were not a servant so hungry for the love randall gave him. henry is addicted to randall's affirmation of his own humanity: perhaps he's willing to continue dehumanizing himself not only just to serve randall, but also just to be in a position where randall can rehumanize him once more. though randall cannot help loving henry, even if that very love means henry will continue killing himself for him... just like henry, randall has always needed a brother...

this is like. purely based off my own headcanon so i’m gonna sound delusional but i feel like it’s so important that kyle looks nothing like maura. at least not at first glance. like maybe when you really look at them you can see the similarities in the smiles, nose, cheeks, eye shape, etc but in terms of coloring they couldn’t be further apart. as per her original appearance (i hate you winick for giving her a blond bob and lipo…) she has fair skin auburn hair and green eyes while kyle has black hair brown eyes and at the very least tan skin. i feel like looking at the only parent you have and not being able to see yourself at all really adds so much to their dynamic between the disconnect he feels and her looking at him and seeing gabriel every time.

"Haha, Strawberry Crepe? Are you in here?"
"Hm? Pure Vanilla? Whad'ya want?"
"Ah, no particular reason, nothing inconspicuous, of course."
"Ah, right-- well, don't touch anything; have zero interest cleaning up other cookies' messes today."
"I'll do my best. What are you working on?"
"Someone actually came for me for some upgrades, its been so long I thought everyone had forgotten I could do that. So I want no distractions from that."
"Oho? Could I be curious on who wanted what?"
"Anything to help them sleep better and quicker, wanted to be out on the field as fast as possible-- capsule sounds easy peasy to me."
"Really? Its that easy with no negative side effects? Sleep is important you know."
"I don't assume this guy is particularly fussed about the negatives of sleeping for short amount of times. If no one fights you over it adjusting a cookies circuitry isn't that hard either, but it might make jellies taste weird."
"I think there might be some negative side effects that simply aren't being considered due to the character of the cookie, am I right?"
"He told me he wouldn't blame me for anything if he started feeling ill, not like he would anyways I'm not that careless with my contraptions, so for all I care anything could happen to him."
"If anything does make sure to tell me about it alright? I don't want any cookie suffering under my nose."
"Yeah, yeah, can't keep my workshop if I use it for evil. My memory works just fine."
"Speaking of no one in particular, how is it working with Espresso?"
"I didn't expect someone composed of his ingredients to respect the craft as much as he does, so he's fine. Spends most of his time working on the candies though so he's carved out his own space over there to work on it. As long as he doesn't randomly explode anything I don't have any issues with it, which fortunately he hasn't yet. It'd be nice if someone who spent so much time in my workshop cared about the wafflebots but it's not like he's causing any fights with them either."
"He can't read your mind you know, if you want him more involved you're going to have to communicate that."
"No, no-- Dragging someone who doesn't inherently care is no one to bother with, he stays over with his candies I stay over here with my stuff."
"As long as you're aware of that choice. Have you done that for him though; helped him at all with his candies?"
"Duh, he might be shockingly respectful despite his ingredients but he is characteristically frantic, he'll run around in a mad craze if anything takes longer than expected and I get put on babysitting duty whilst he grabs some solution from who knows where."
"Are you alright with that arrangement?"
"Its not that bad and it could be worse, if it means we get candies at all I guess it's a sacrifice worth making."
"Would you like an extra pair of hands to help out...?"
"Again? Unless you found some new cookie since the last time you brought that up--- ah, wait, right. I'm gonna have to think about that one, its quite the commitment."
"Take the time you need, I want to assure that it was just a passing thought, don't feel burdened to accept if you have any doubts."
"As always..."
"I think I should be returning to my duties, it was nice catching up with you though. Hope I didn't distract you too much."
"... It's not that hard to multitask when it comes to you, don't have to keep a close eye on you."
"The highest compliment one can get from you, haha. Have a good evening Crepe."
...
"I guess only one of you are actually leaving tonight."
