so i started watching channel zero: candle cove and i gotta say its incredible. It is effectively creepy- a bit slow at times- but if i had a dollar for everytime i dramatically gasped while watching just the first two episodes then wowee.

The fact that the enivronment uses less of a cramped space and more of an open, unknown area that's sunny and lush really is genius. It may seem unthreatening but it quickly turns terrifying, stirking the cord in your head of a fear of what's out there in the woods. The show also uses nostalgia to its advantage, making candle cove feel so real.

but out of context some of the clips from the show are just. hilarious

some clips are just jawbone violently shaking while cross-fading and its actually the funniest shit ever.

In the trailer there is a split second where a skeleton is hobbling through the woods and, paired with the rest of the trailer, its spine chilling but on its own its insanely funny.

This one right here also I missed a stitch I just now realized ah well next drawings will have it so ye I’m drawing the story of jawbone’s breakdown obviously he’s a skeleton so although he’s extremely upset he won’t have tears because again he’s a skeleton he has no organs so yeah be on the lookout for it

I have decided to post some of my drawings that I made a couple years back. They aren’t the best by any means, but I enjoy them. Hopefully, you all might like them too.

First, we have Horace the Horrible from Channel Zero: Candle Cove

And last but not least, my favorite ventriloquist dummy, Slappy from the Goosebumps movie

I do not own these characters, and they of course belong to the people who made them. I just thought I would post them to help me get into the spooky spirit even more than I already have.

Well, after drawing 88 different skeletal characters, here it is, the full series of "A Buncha Boneheads"! I was originally going to try and sell this as a poster but after looking into it, I don't think I can do that unless I want to deal with several dozen copyright laws.

This was quite the fun little exercise for me- the biggest challenge was trying to emulate the art styles of so many different series and properties. There are definitely more skull-headed characters out there that I could add, but frankly I think a nice even 88 is good enough, and there are other projects I want to work on for the future. Overall I'm pretty proud of this.

With that said, let me know if I've made a spelling mistake or something anywhere on here- I've tried my best but I just know I missed one or two somewhere.

Skin taker backstory ig because god I’ve ought to post my fuckin headcanons!!! But I never fucking do!!!! Goddamn!!!!

TW for death and violence and your typical candle cove stuff

Thade was a well-off explorer(?) who went out to sea on his own with like no supplies or anything after months of immense turmoil influenced by whatever weird fucking cosmic shit goes on in this universe. He died out there alone, either due to exposure or starvation/dehydration or drowning. His body ended up on the ocean floor.

Years later he awoke. Due to aforementioned supernatural/cosmic horror factors and being dead for so long, he had no memory of who he was. He somehow made it to the surface and was found by a group of pirates, who took him in to join their crew- after he convinced them not to parade him around as a freak of nature for a quick buck. From there he developed an affinity for cooking and flaying, working as the group’s chef and fighting for them when possible. Together the team plundered other ships, killed people who pissed them off and just had a grand old time being chaotic and/or neutral evil. His nickname during this time was Jawbone.

Eventually they had to split up, on the run from authorities. Alone, Jawbone crafted his new identity as the Skin Taker, influenced by his love for flaying skin and wearing it. There’s possibly a practical or magical reason for it, but mostly he just lacks any morality and likes the way it looks and feels. For the next several decades, he would go around just. Peeling people, usually targeting one area for a time before moving along.

After a while he disappeared, but Horace brought him to Candle Cove.

oh hell yeah I do! I literally only watched the season of that show that was about Candle Cove! I honestly thought it was a pretty neat way to do it too! I especially love the way they went about making the tv show. Like, Percy looks absolutely PERFECT here! and the voice cast is just DAMN good

As for horace, i feel like they didn't do him justice with his outfit since it's mainly a sweater?? like, what does that have to do with being a pirate?? Though the fabric choice, the mustache, and monocle are just *mwuah* chef's kiss!They were honestly the most on point with Laughingstock. Like you hear them and look at them and just think immediately, “oh look, it’s Laughingstock!”

Then there’s my favorite character, Jawbone! i still like this look a lot since they made him fit in with the pirate theme more but it feels weird to see him without the skin hat tbh.(Why not just make a skin pirate hat??) At least they got the cape :) I also think they did a 10/10 job with the scene with the puppets going crazy! just 👌👌👌👌👌👌 God he just feels so menacing!!

Finally, the laughingstock is just god it’s like it was pulled straight from how i picture them to be! Like, when i first heard and saw them i was all, “Yup, that’s Laughingstock! Look at them gooo~” It’s just how I’ve always pictured them :)

The only think I felt like it was missing was Janice since she’s one of the characters brought up in the creepypasta specifically.

Overall, a great take!
