Was anyone going to tell me that Candle Cove was adapted into a TV series on SyFy, or was I supposed to figure that out myself?

thank you for your podcast its Genuinely so good (and also hilarious). I just finished the borrasca episodes 🥲 also, the podcast encouraged me to begin reading horror (actual books not just online stuff) again
BTW, have you watched Channel Zero? Its a show that ran on SyFy that adapted some pretty major creepypastas such as Candle Cove, No-End House (its season 2, and probably the best pasta adaptation of all time IMO), and more
oh wow, thank you so much! i'm really glad you've been enjoying it and that you're finding new stuff to dig into. i am aware of channel zero but i never got around to watching it, i tend to be pretty slow with watching anything

18+7?
18. Do you have any playlists dedicated to a specific character/situation?
so, so many. too many
7. A playlist you’re particularly proud of?
I don't usually share my playlists, I tend to make them for me and only me, but I put myself up to be asked this, this one. it's only 16 songs, but I love horror and I have an interest in the horror that can come out of homes or towns, whether that's created by the people living there or by the houses themselves. what's supposed to be comfortable and familiar is suffocating. it doesn't have to be supernaturally charged horror either. our natural feelings around houses and homes are so interesting. this goes for other living spaces, too. a couple of favorites off the top of my head that explore fucked up living spaces are 1408, a movie about a haunted hotel room, and Channel Zero: No End House, the 2nd season of a 4 seasons horror anthology series (that was poorly handled by syfy network, they rushed Butcher's Block and Dream Door so they weren't as high quality as No End House and Candle Cove, and I'm still made abt it). anyway the first song on the playlist is much more playful than what I'm talking about here. but I like this playlist a lot and I wish I knew more songs I could add to it

Just remembered my interest in Candle Cove and unearthed the memory that Syfy made a show that had a different creepypasta each season. So if that’s your bread and butter check out Channel Zero it only had four seasons but it was fun.

SHOW RECOMMENDATION: CHANNEL ZERO
Okay so I finished this show all the way back in October, but I’m gonna recommend it now because I’m gonna binge it all over again!
This is a horror show, created by the amazingly talented Nick Antosca. It’s an anthology series, which means each season is its own self-contained story. Like AHS, but much better in every single way.
Each season is based on an internet horror story, usually those gathered from the r/NoSleep subreddit, but lengthened out to fit six episodes.
The following stories (and their authors) are:
Candle Cove by Kris Straub
Tumblr media
NoEnd House by Brian Russel
Tumblr media
Now, the stories begin deviating massively from the source material here, so I’ll include both titles for the following seasons.
Butcher’s Block/Search And Rescue Woods by Kerry Hammond.
Tumblr media
The Dream Door/Hidden Door by Charlotte Bywater.
Tumblr media
The stories themselves will be linked at the end of this post.
Each season has a unique and thrilling vision, since all of them are directed by different directors whose nightmares are brought to chilling reality through their use of timing, angles, and casting.
Unfortunately, SyFy cancelled the show during the pique of its popularity, even though the showrunner, Nick Antosca, had amazing ideas in mind for future seasons. This includes The Left/Right Game by helpmenosleep, and one of my personal favourites: This Man.
Tumblr media
But even though this show has been cancelled, it is still a joy to watch! Trust me: if you’re into horror, then Channel Zero is a must-watch!
Story links!

NoEnd House by Brian Russel
Search And Rescue Woods by Kerry Hammond
Hidden Door by Charlotte Bywater

So I watched both seasons of Syfy’s Channel Zero
The first, Candle Cove, is pretty good, definitely has a lot of scary imagery and cool horror going on, but the story’s overall narrative and quality of the show was just ok in my opinion.
The second season, No End House, is absolutely incredible. And when I say incredible, I mean horrifying. The story is really frightening and compelling, there’s much better acting and production value, and the twists are scary in unexpected ways. Even though there is visual horror, it’s more psychological, and it really leaves you thinking.
I’m really looking forward to the next season. And I think more people need to watch this show. So check it out!

SyFy Drops 4 Teaser Trailers + Poster For CHANNEL ZERO: BUTCHER'S BLOCK
New Post has been published on https://nofspodcast.com/syfy-drops-4-teaser-trailer-poster-channel-zero-butchers-block/
SyFy Drops 4 Teaser Trailers + Poster For CHANNEL ZERO: BUTCHER'S BLOCK
Channel Zero has been releasing seasons of the horror series at a feverish pace. While no solid date has been announced for the upcoming third season, SyFy recently dropped 4 teaser trailers and a sinister poster hyping the new arc. Season 3, subtitled Butcher’s Block tells the story of Alice as she investigates a several disappearances surrounding a mysterious staircase. Drawing inspiration from Kelly Hammond’s creepypasta Search and Rescue Woods looks to be the stuff if nightmares.
Boasting an impressive cast, Butcher’s Block sounds like a horror mini-series catered to your interests. The series will star Olivia Luccardi (It Follows), Holland Roden (Teen Wolf), Krisha Fairchild (Krisha), and Rutger Hauer (The Hitcher). Showrunner Nick Antosca returns as head writer for the upcoming season with newcomer Arkasha Stevenson taking up director duties.

 Official Synopsis:
A young woman named Alice moves to a new city and learns about a series of disappearances that may be connected to a baffling rumor about mysterious staircases in the city’s worst neighborhoods. With help from her sister, she discovers that something is preying on the city’s residents.
Following a horror anthology format similar to American Horror Story, Channel Zero adapts popular CreepyPastas, breathing life into some the internet’s most infamous horror tales. The first season, inspired by Kris Straub’s Candle Cove, told the story of a fictional television show / hallucination of the same name. Season 2, inspired by Brian Russell’s Creepypasta No-End House took viewers through a haunted house that upended and infiltrated the character’s lives.
Fans of the show will be happy to know that while season 3 has not been aired, season 4 is already currently in production. On a recent episode of the Shockwaves Podcast, creator Nick Antosca revealed that Butcher’s Block nearly finished ahead of the premiere of No End House. Constantly looking ahead, the team behind Channel Zero never stops so that you always have fresh content to feed your blood thirsty appetite.
