getting older can be so amazing? you get more familiar with yourself. learn tips & tricks for troubleshooting your own brain. trial & error helps you build routines that minimize discomfort, maximize reward. your preferences/interests don't get set in stone, but you do find out which ones are going to stay with you in the long-term, and which ones are fun but transient joys to appreciate in the moment.
you learn that the world is so much more complex than you were taught, and that that's okay, and that there's an endless supply of things you can learn or watch or experience or think about if you want to. if you're lucky, you loosen up, stop putting so much pressure on yourself. if you're lucky, you learn to recognize that negative inner voice, and whack it with a baseball bat until it hushes up. if you're lucky, you learn to treat yourself gently, not because you are fragile but because you are worthy of gentleness. (i hope you are lucky.)
and some things will change. some things will get better. some things will get good. and maybe you start to recover from the dehumanizing stress of childhood/education. maybe you learn the power of your own autonomy. maybe you learn how to walk away from bad situations (which is a superpower even if you don't realize it yet). and you get to choose your own clothes. and your own food. and which relationships to pursue! and what you do with your free time. and with your life (but don't worry you get to choose that gradually). and that's crazy! and sometimes scary. and extraordinarily, indescribably precious.

Logic Puzzle
River wants to hang out but there's a door in his way, featuring dumbass Angel
short little garbage post~
they/them = redacted and he/him = river so it's not confusing
💜🖤💜🖤💜🖤
Thump… thump.
You looked up from your book, focusing to find the source of the strange noise. You eventually landed your gaze on your partner who was lounging with you, their feet over the edge of the couch and their head in your lap. "Ren, do you hear that?"
"Yeah." [REDACTED] kept their eyes on their phone, grinning all the while. "It's just River."
"Oh." You went back to reading.
Thump… thump.
"Did you lock him out?"
They shook their head and tilted the phone for you to see. "The door's open. He's just been doing this the whole time."
On the cracked screen was a camera feed. River was out in the hall, his mess of blue hair bobbing as he struggled to pull the door open. Each thump you heard matched up with his struggles.
You raised an eyebrow. "Don't you push the front door? I'll go open it."
Before they could object you were already scooting away and standing up. They followed you to the foyer.
Thump… thump.
It was much louder now. You could see the front door moving a bit from his efforts, but it never opened.
"River?" you called him.
He was surprised to hear you. "Heyyy! Didn't know we were having a party. Could ya open the door?"
"Yeah, stop pulling it for a second." You grabbed the doorknob and pushed…but it didn't budge.
"Angel, no—" The man behind you gently tried to redirect, but you didn't hear a word.
You pushed again as hard as you could, calling out to River, "I think it's stuck!" You sighed and jiggled the doorknob.
"Do we both need to pull?" came his voice once more.
"No, we both need to push." You turned to [REDACTED] with a frown. "Aren't you going to help us?"
Your boyfriend opened their mouth—fully intent on correcting you now—then went silent, mulling over how long the situation could reasonably last. They eventually cracked a knowing smile. "... Sure. I'll push."
They'd let you figure this one out.

Me :What the fuck do you mean I'm a good person, I just told you about how I threatened a girl and enjoyed it 'cuz she said something to my friend.
My seatmate:Because that's what a good person does.
Me*realizing I'm not actually trash I just went through puberty reading about Cale Henituse and ended up imitating his personality to T by accident, and now I'm just that batshit crazy friend that will do anything if pushed to a certain point with absolutely no regards for my own safety as long as everyone else is ok.*
