Hans: Uh sir, about the Young Master...
Deruth: What did Cale do now?
Hans: Um, he brought a strange man to the mansion last night.
Deruth, staring blankly as he misunderstands what he just heard: ...he what?!

TOTCF FIC (WIP) [Cale × Choi Han]
"Slacker Life. Right?"
———————————
×××××(Minor season 1 spoilers for totcf)××××
- Chapter 2 [Beta V.] -
****chapter one link [beta]****
Cale was on the top floor of the Great Rock Villa.
It was the room he had claimed for himself, the entire floor being a bedroom/office area with a large en suite complete with a large bath... since coming back from the Captial he hadn't left this room, (except to eat and watch over the kiddos).
Normally you could expect him to be lying in his bed or sprawled out on the chaise lounge eating snacks or fruits. But currently, he's seated at his expensive-looking gilded desk surrounded by bookshelves and other fancy gold and gem-encrusted knick-knacks and magical items.  His fingers laced together, brows knit and eyes closed in deep concentration.
Ron,
whom he had called for,
had been standing still and stoic as a capable butler should...
for 20 minutes...
He didn't show it, as it would be uncouth as a butler. But he'd been curious about what his puppy young master had been thinking so deeply about that he hadn't given him any acknowledgment since he bid him entry.
Ron began to worry, as it always seemed that if his young master was in deep thought, usually it followed with him being asked to call everyone together because some God or other annoying being sent a message to his poor young master begging him to save the world again...
He began to feel bloodthirsty just thinking about it.
"Ron..."
"oops"
Ron figured that he might've let some of his bloodlust escape and startle his young master.
In reality, Cale hadn't even noticed the strange atmosphere around Ron until after he called him, and by that point, Ron had already masked it again.
"Whoa scary... was he annoyed I accidentally ignored him..."
"You called for this Ron Young Master? You seemed quite concerned... is there something troubling you?"
Ron's eyes were serious, his voice flat and cold despite his caring tone. He seemed ready to kill even a God if he needed to.
A shiver ran through Cale's spine as he was now positive that Ron was annoyed at him for getting distracted after calling him.
"*Ahem*  no nothing like that"
Cale dismissed what he thought was Ron's usual "playful" threats and smirked to himself as he imagined once again what he had planned.
Ron seeing the young master's usual evil grin had the feeling that his young master was planning to screw somebody over.
"Please call Choi Han for me"
The young master finally said
Ron thought of sending an (insincere) prayer for the poor bastards that these two vicious punks were going to scam or beat up.
Maybe both...
"At once young master Cale, shall I tell him to come here at once?"
"hmm"
Cale hummed in affirmation, once again absorbed in his thoughts.
Just as Ron reached the door to fulfill his order, Cale called out again, remembering something else he needed to say...
"Oh and make sure to tell everyone to stay away from this floor for the next couple of hours..."
"Actually... for the rest of the day"
Ron froze
juttering the handle on the door making a loud sound as he nearly broke the knob. He held his suspicions but,
just to make sure...
"Would that also include the young cat-nims and Roan-nim?"
Cale shuddered, imagining the children bursting in while he was in the middle of his schemed *ahem*
long overdue... adult discussion, with Choi Han. The thought made him cringe, but he played it cool.
"Yes,  tell them they can go have a sleep-over at Sheritt-nim's house- Give them an allowance if they want to go anywhere else"
"Ah, it's finally happening"
Ron gasped internally as he confirmed his suspicion, careful not to show any change in expression. (Though the door handle probably would need replacing)
He very sharply turned around once again startling Cale as he bowed forward as insurance in case his face looked unnatural. He wasn't confident even his skillful butler, no
assassin's poker face wouldn't crumble at this moment. He couldn't decide whether to sneer, frown, or smirk.
"Certainly Master Cale, I will make sure no one disturbs you and that pun*(k), I mean Guardian Knight-nim, I'm sure everyone would enjoy a return to the Hentituse estate for a visit with Duke-Nim and the family, I'm quite sure the festivities since your victory are still ensuing!"
Ron exclaimed.  Uncharacteristically energetic, almost like Hans if not for the cold dead tone. An unsettling juxtaposition made Cale wonder if Ron was planning to kill someone (maybe him).
"There's no need to kick everyone out of the villa-"
Cale hastily corrected in a panic.
But the look on Ron's face quickly shut him up.
"-But if everyone wants to go they can do what they want, just make sure Captain-Hilsman doesn't go spouting nonsense again, I don't need him adding fuel to the massive fire about that savior nonsense "
-"Yes Master Cale, I shall convey your will at once - Please give me an hour.. no 20 minutes to organize and we shall be on our way!"
And just like that Ron sped away from the Cale's room, somehow at break-neck speed despite his posture being that of a calm and composed butler
"I mean, it's not like it's a bother...."
Cale sighed, the target had already left unable to hear.
"But I suppose Choi Han and I being the only people here would greatly reduce the chances of being interrupted at an awkward moment"
He continued to ponder
Cale had never seen Ron act that way... it was like he was Hans, but scary... as his enthusiasm didn't reach his voice or his face. He felt like he was halfway between wanting to curse and holding down a laugh. Which was frightening when it was Ron who did either.
Was he just looking for a chance to leave? Maybe it was an age thing... or did he see this as a chance to finally get a vacation? He should give him more time off in the future.
Cale smiled to himself thinking about Ron retiring and moving far away.
Deciding to ignore Ron's peculiarity, He stood up from his desk, taking his glass of expensive wine in his hand as he strode over to the large full glass windows overlooking the garden of the estate.
His eyes wandered to their usual place, a large open area with a fountain where a shirtless Choi-Han was training with Lock, his wolf siblings, and On and Hong; along with Raon encouraging and giving support with magic on the sidelines. In the beginning, the way they trained frightened Cale (it still does a little) but now he couldn't help but see it as Choi Han playing cutely with the kids and siblings.
Despite being far away his eyes focused on Choi-Han. The ripples of his back and the twist of his waist; the stretch of his arms as he swung his aura swords with care to not injure his students...he took another sip of his wine his throat suddenly feeling parched, eyes glazing as if he was staring at a painting in a gallery. But out of reach so as not to damage its quality...
But Cale doesn't give a shit about those rules anymore...
In fact, he planned on defacing Choi Han's canvas with his special paints of red. He couldn't wait to drag his hands across this priceless art...
He'll vandalize this sculpture as much as he pleased

Stay still, will you?
𝚆𝚘𝚛𝚍 𝙲𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚝:1,267
»»►This is a funny scenario. I like to think Cale is a super, over the top, overprotective, man. If you mess with those he cares about or loves, you’re about to find yourself in an interesting situation.
»»►But when Cale finds out he’s going to be a papa, he goes wild. Forget accepting whatever mission the crown prince wants him to do, he needs to be right next to his wife–24/7.
»»►And let’s be honest with ourselves, this man would literally take this chance to laze around even more. This is the life he wanted, no?
»»►Oh, but his dear wife doesn’t like sitting still for more than a minute. This is torture for her—but can’t do anything about it because her husband and (adopted)kids want her to relax and take care of herself and the baby.
»»►But, why? You may ask. That’s for the single fact that she is clumsy (hey just like me!). She crashes stuff, trips, falls, hurts herself—according to Cale and the others—she denies such accusations—and last but not least, she gets herself in trouble.
»»►So, yeah. [Name] have no “stepping outside the state” privileges until after the baby is here physically. But [Name] is a tough cookie. She can handle herself when no-one is around. So—to everyone’s dismay—she goes outside one day. It’s just to stroll around and see what has progressed in Harris Village.
»»►One thing to note: she didn’t tell a soul about her outing.
»»►Now imagine Cale’s face when he comes back to see the staff panicking for the whereabouts of his wife.
»»►Let's just say…it was chaotic that day.
Tumblr media
“Woah, that looks tasty...!” [Name] drooled at the sight.
“Good morning, lady [Name]! What can I get you today?” The shop owner greeted [Name] with a smile.
“Can I have this please?” [Name] pointed to one of the delicacies of the bakery. It was a croissant-looking-bread stuffed full of chocolate.
The owner of the bakery gave her a bag filled with what she ordered. “Here you go! Please come back soon!” the owner waved goodbye.
“I will!” She waved back at the owner. [Name] took one of the baked goods and began to eat it.
“I wonder how everyone is doing at the state.”
…
“LADY [NAME]!”
“M’lady! Where are you?!”
“Does anyone remember the last place [Name] went to?!”
“M’lady, please be okay!”
Currently, everyone is in a frenzy. The lady of the house was nowhere to be found, and everyone and their mothers were running like headless chickens in search of her. And if they did not find her, their master was going to kill them!
“What is with the commotion here?” a voice spoke from the entrance of the manor.
Everything stopped. Slowly, the housekeepers and butlers turned their heads towards the voice. They knew this voice. Very well in fact. Although they grew to like it, right now, they wish they didn’t hear it. They prayed that it was a ghost. Dread overtook them as they saw the voice’s owner.
Cale Henituse. Their young master. And the husband of the manor’s lady they were trying to find.
“So? Is anyone going to tell me why you are all running like the world just ended?” Cale spoke.
Who was mad enough to even dare to tell the young master that his wife magically disappeared? Not me. And not anyone in this room.
Yet a brave soul stood up and spoke. May he rest in peace.
“Ah…y-young mater Cale,” a young butler went forward and vowed, stammering in his word, “we..uh…. Can’t find lady [Name] anywhere...?”
“...”
“...”
It was deafeningly silent. No one moved an inch, waiting—waiting for the order to execute them. They fully accepted their fate.
“Well, what are you all just standing there for?” he spoke, breaking the iceberg.
“Huh?”
“Standing still isn't going to bring back [Name].” He stood there, staring at the crowd.
He was right.
They needed to get back to searching for Lady [Name]!
A chorus of ‘yes, sir!’ was heard before a horde of housekeepers and butlers left in search of their Lady.
“*sigh* Why are you like this [Name]...?” Cale whispered and looked up. He slowly walked to the exit of the manor heading to the town; the children followed after him–this included Choi Han.
“Master Cale, where are you going?” Hans asked.
“I’m going to the market area in the town,” he said, not bothering to look back. “Ron, make my bed as comfortable as you can make, will you?”
“Yes, young master.” Ron responded.
“Great.”
…
Lovely day for [Name] sitting in the shade of an umbrella and her delicious foods. Going from one shop to another, she had managed to gather a lot of food. She had gone overboard again, yes, but the baby she was carrying and her were happy. Who could ever disturb such happiness?
“[Name].” A male voice called her name firmly from behind.
Of course. The only person that could was her husband. [Name] knew he only meant good, but right now he had broken that tranquility.
“Oh! Cale, love, darling, how are you...?” [Name] turned and looked at him nervously. The children had gathered around her–with Raon being invisible naturally.
“[Name]...” Cale rubbed the temples of his face before sighing, “why are you out?” he asked sternly.
“Well clearly, I was taking a walk. And I bought some snacks on the way.” She answered, petting both Hong and Raon while On made herself comfortable in her lap.
“What–no. That’s not what I meant.”
“You asked why I was out, and I told you why.”
“You know exactly why I asked that.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” [Name] gave the children the treats she had bought earlier.
“[Name], please. You know how dangerous it is for you to be here right now. You are due at any point now! And I just…agh..I just want you to stay safe.” He said in frustration.
[Name] looked at him, feeling a bit guilty that he is like that. She had reached her ninth month a week ago, making this month the most crucial. She just didn’t want to stay locked up in her room all the time. It was something that did not sit right with her.
“I’m sorry…” [Name] looked down in shame.
“I…*sigh* You are going to be the death of me.” Cale came closer to her and placed his hands underneath her.
“Hu-huh? Cale? What are you doing?” panicking a little before realizing he was going to carry her.
“Carry you, obviously.” He scuffed. “We’re going back to the manor.”
“Aww…can’t we go to another shop? It’ll be the last one, I promise!” Her begging went to deaf ears. He wasn’t letting her get away with it, so she started to wiggle her way out his arm.
“Stay still, will you?”
“Not until I get my last treat.”
“*sight…* Fine. But you’ll have it after dinner. Dinner is going to be served soon.” Cale said while walking to the nearest candy shop.
“Mmmm, I'm fine with that. Oh! Choi Han, hello. Sorry, I didn’t notice you there.”
“It’s fine lady [Name].” Choi Han gave her a small nod.
“Moooom…I want a treat too!”
“I also want one!”
“The great Roan Miru will get one too, right?”
“Wait a second. Since when do they call you mom?” Cale asked in confusion.
“Yes, yes. All of you will get one.”
“Don’t ignore me.”
Choi Han giggled as Cale continued to ask and get ignored by them.

CURSED CHILD
chapter two : the rumour.
summary : clopeh can't enter the henituse museum without finishing his book length prayer for his cale-nim.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
★﹒ ( First name ) doesn't know if Clopeh Sekka has things for redheads. But there was a thing that she was sure of, Clopeh is a certified crazy bastard. He was worse than that dragon who commits arson and burns down a whole damn mountain while laughing like a madman. And what's the reason why he did that? Simple, because he was sleep deprived and the elementals won't let him have his peaceful sleep.
The girl deadpanned at the sight in front of her. Clopeh had promised that he would take her out to a museum today. So that's the main reason for the extravagant outfit that the staff of the orphanage prepared for her. But, before they could even enter this damn museum, Clopeh had his hands clasped as he recited a prayer.
Does.... He finally lost his mind? The little redhead crossed her small arms as she looked at Clopeh. Her hands were sweating to the fact that people were looking at them. While her lips unconsciously pouted. Fuck, her child's senses were screaming at her to throw a fit right here, right now to get this bastard's attention.
So, instead of doing that. She tugged the end of the cape of the knight who was escorting them. "Uh... Mister... Is sir Clopeh alright? He's been like that since earlier."
The knight sweatdropped at her question, he awkwardly scratched his cheeks and crouched down at ( first name )'s level. "Little miss, the young master is always like this when uh.. visiting this museum."
"Why?" The little girl innocently asked. "Because he is obse— I mean, he idolizes the firstborn of the family who founded this museum."
( First name ) couldn't help but notice how forced the knight's expression was. He was practically praying to Angela, the God of War, the God of Death and whatever mythical creature that this kid would stop asking him about his liege's weird habits. Yeah, this is considered weird— but just remember that one time when he accidentally entered Clopeh's room and those concerning amount of pictures and drawings of the Young Master Henituse plastered on his liege's room. It was more than enough to traumatise his poor self.
' Maybe I should ask the Duke for a bonus.' he thought.
"Okay." ( First name ) simply said, as the knight's face brightened. "I'm going to look around, Mister! Please tell me when Sir Clopeh came back to reality!"
( First name ) waved her small hand at the knight as she started looking around the museum. Then, a certain painting caught her attention. She noticed how detailed the painting was. And how beautiful the man in the painting is. He was wearing a commander's uniform and had a small smile on his face.
"Pretty." Her reddish brown eyes shone as she looked at the painting. She was caught up in her small words where she was cursing the gods and goddesses for being unfair to her because she wasn't able to get the beauty of this red-haired man in this painting. She wasn't able to hear the murmurs of the people around her.
All of them were flabbergasted because of one thing. They've seen a peculiar sight of a small redhead that looks a lot like their Young master Silver Shield! What? And this kid was looking at Cale Henituse's portrait with those longing expression (when the truth is she was planning the whole event where she will be burning all temples of the God of Death and Angela, the Sun Goddess across the continent) does the young master has an illegitimate child that the people doesn't know of?!
As they started making their gossip inside their little brains. Clopeh's knight had already called for ( first name ) saying that Clopeh was looking for her and they should go to a restaurant nearby instead of staying here. Because Clopeh wasn't able to finish his one book-length prayer and he couldn't enter the Henituse Museum without finishing it.
"Okay." ( First name ) stoically said as she walked away from the painting. Not even aware that a certain orange-haired butler had seen her and now he was speechless and couldn't move from his spot.
Hans, that butler has his jaw dropped as he remembers the little girl that he saw earlier. Those lazy reddish brown eyes that can look down at you like you were some kind of dirty insect were very similar to his liege! That crimson hair! And those mannerisms!
Hans swallowed hard as he started hesitating whether he should tell it to Cale or the Duke himself. But then, decided that the Duke had the right to know about the existence of his granddaughter.
⋆﹥━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━﹤⋆
Later that day, those rumours about Cale having an illegitimate child that he kept from the public's eyes had already spread to the Roan Kingdom and the other neighbouring kingdoms. Those rumours kept on getting more and more ridiculous.
And Cale Henituse, the person on the rumour was now laying inside his room on the Henituse estate while sleeping. Ah, slacker life, how sweet it is. He can sleep 15 hours straight now and can laze around after all of those shits that he got involved with. His lips then curved into a sweet smile as he opened his eyes. Only to find two pairs of cat eyes and a pair of dragon's blue eyes staring at him.
"What the fuc—"
Cale almost falls from his bed after seeing his children, On, Hong, and Raon staring at him. He was about to ask what was wrong when he noticed that everyone, by everyone I mean the Molans, Choi Han, Lock, Rosalyn, Mary, and Eruhabe was staring at him with those eerie smiles.
"What?!"
"Unlucky bastard, tsk, tsk." Eruhaben shook his head making Cale more confused. "Cale-nim." This time it was Choi Han who was looking at Cale with a hint of betrayal in his eyes.
What the heck is going on?
This time, Rosalyn chuckled as she spoke in amusement. "Have you heard the news, Young master Cale? The crown prince had fainted."
"What? Why?"
"Because he heard that his younger sworn brother has a secret child that looks a lot like him." Cale deadpanned, is that so? But then he realized something causing his eyes to widen. He is Alberu's only sworn brother! "Huh? What the fuck?!"
"So, be honest to us young master-nim." Ron spoke with his benign smile. "Young master-nim, are you hiding something from us~?"
Vicious people. Cale suddenly wanted to escape this hellish place. What the heck are they talking about?! What secret child?! What happened while he was asleep?!
Then, Hans barged into his room. "Mister Ron! The Duke has fainted!" Fuck it, let him sleep slack in peace!

One moment you were next to Cale then the next second you’re standing in the middle of an unknown place with this weird half-transparent blue screen in front of you.
[Quest List:]
[1. Pass the tutorial
2. Launch a widescale attack on the safe zones during the eclipse
3. Die after fighting a magnificent battle at the hands of the person who loves you the most]
“What the fuck…”
You cursed as you read what the screen says. You tried to see if you could touch it but something else popped up as soon as your finger made contact with it.
[WARNING!! WARNING!!]
[All injuries sustained in this body will be mirrored in your real body!]
“This isn’t my real body? But it looks the same.”
It really does. The only thing that has changed is your clothes. You’re wearing something that fits the image of a deity.
Still confused, you look around you. There’s nothing you recognized. But it does look like you’re somewhere abandoned.
[A message has arrived! Tap here to read!]
You tapped the new overlay that popped up and it instantly brought you to the message.
[Are you enjoying your lover’s original world?]
The anonymous message said. Immediately, you had an inkling as to who it could be.
“What the fuck? You must be that stupid god presence we felt back there.”
[Such brash words while talking to a god… Anyway, are you aware of where your lover is?]
“His around here too right? What the hell did you do to him?”
[Nothing much. His just under my test to overcome his despair. I’m waiting for him to be consumed by it so he can take my hand.]
“Knowing Cale, I'm sure he’ll overcome it. He’d rather die than work with you.”
[That’s where you come in dear.]
You feel like you can hear the god’s vile laughter even through the screen. But you wondered how you’d help meet Cale’s demise. Unless a demon possesses you to the point where you can’t control yourself, you won't do it.
Then it dawned on you.
The mission.
[3. Die after fighting a magnificent battle at the hands of the person who loves you the most]
“HAHAHAHAHAHA! You’re quite witty, aren’t you? On the bright side, I found out Cale loves me the most thanks to you.”
[It’s great, isn’t it? If you don’t do your missions you’ll be stuck here forever. If you do them you’ll die. Whatever you do you love must say goodbye. An instant recipe for despair.]
“We’ll see about that. You might be underestimating me too much.”
You pointed your middle finger towards the screen with messages before closing it.
Getting past the tutorial was easy. Turns out you have an inventory that contains countless supplies of food and other necessities. You also have the ability to summon monsters.
The same monsters your lover told you he fought in his previous life before becoming Cale Henituse.
“Ho? This is interesting. It feels like I’m playing a game of some sort.”
You said no one in particular as you read the descriptions of the monsters at your disposal. You spend the whole day navigating the screen that calls itself the “status window”. According to it, you have the whole day free today as the eclipse will happen tomorrow.
As you take yourself on a tour of your inventory one particular item catches your attention.
[Sword of Liubi Duplicate]
It was your sword. Well, a duplicate of it. It was given to you by Cale after you first met. Clicking on the sword, you read what properties would its copy have.
[A sword replicated from your world. It’s strong, probably one of the strongest swords on Earth 2 despite being nerfed. However, since it’s a duplicate it will only have half of its original prowess. It is still a remarkable weapon nonetheless.]
Some of the terms used like “nerfed” you don’t understand as they don’t exist in your world. But it still gave you a general idea as to what the status of your sword is.
Well, it’s better than nothing.
Plus you think the only time you’d have to use it is when you fight Cale so it’s better that it’s not as strong as before.
“Either way I die huh…”
You mumbled as you stared up at the ceiling of the abandoned house you found. Usually, a person would not be able to stay in such a place so leisurely. However, since the monsters won’t touch you it's a different story.
“What am I getting sad for? I was supposed to die way back! I’m just fulfilling it now…”
It’s the truth. If it wasn’t for your lover and his friends you would’ve died a long time ago. You guess someone bound to die early will die early.
You dismissed the thoughts of your death out of your head. Instead, you focused your energy on thinking about how you would get Cale to fight you so he could complete his mission.
With those thoughts in mind, you slowly fell asleep.
“Okay, this is kind of fun… but I feel bad since Cale and the others are fighting the things I summoned.”
You’re on top of a building. A good distance away from Cale– no Kim Rok Soo’s safe zone but still near enough to be able to observe what’s happening.
“Is that Choi Han? At first I felt bad for them, but now I feel bad for myself. They’ll finish my babies in no time!”
Observing Choi Han and the others fighting, you kept summoning more monsters. The monsters you summon are regulated by the status window but you still find some joy in doing it.
It is getting tiring though.
You can’t believe you have to keep doing this for 24 hours straight. You’re not even getting paid…
[Alert!]
[One (1) of your “Grade 1 Taster Monsters” have broken from the pack]
[Alert!]
[Two (2) of your “Grade 1 Taster Monsters” have broken from the pack]
“What the hell? I swear my dearest must have an ancient power that allows him to gather powerful beings. His even stealing away my babies.”
You huffed in frustration as you watched two of your summons go over to Kim Rok Soo’s side.
“Isn’t this whole thing too good for me though? Everything I need to survive is free… And summoning monsters doesn’t cost anything.”
[It's the least I could do for someone bound to die either way]
That pesky god messaged you again.
“Well look at you being Mr. Nice. Are you flirting with me? Sorry, I’m taken.”
For emphasis, you brought up your ring finger that contained your engagement ring. As if flipping the god off.
[Blasphemous as ever. It tempts me to take you as one of my children. Too bad you won’t be able to take in the despair that comes as a price.]
“Yeah yeah. Just shut up. It’s not like I have any plans teaming up with a god.”
Sealed God shut up and you lived the next days in peace.
You have the monsters at your disposal that can do whatever you need them to do. And you have no quest assigned to you aside from that dying one. Your mind has also been at ease as you have a general plan as to how you’ll get your love to fight you one-on-one.
[New Mission Alert!]
[Summon one (1) Electric Eel in Gwangalli Beach]
Gwangalli Beach where is that? You have absolutely no idea. In fact, you’re tired of your status window acting as if you were from this world.
“I’m sure the monster will know where it is…”
Convincing yourself that your summons will know where it is you summoned a flying monster to take you to that place.
Luckily, your assumption was correct. In no time you were where you need to be.
“Status window summon one Electric Eel… Who named this thing? I mean it’s a snake that will be summoned from the sea, and has electricity as one of its powers. But Electric Eel? Seriously?”
After bashing the monster’s name a little, you summoned it.
“I’m sure you already know what to do…”
You mumbled to the monster before going away to hide before someone saw you.
All that’s left for you to do is watch and wait for your entrance.
3 days. That’s how many days it took for them to defeat the Electric Eel.
While everyone was doing that you were watching on top of the building. Your robed dress flows freely in the wind as you do so. There were a lot of instances you wanted to intervene. Wanted to go help the love of your life and the man you considered your brother.
But alas you couldn’t.
The status window with only one quest left reminded you of that every time.
[Are you ready for the final act?]
Sealed God messaged you again. As if laughing at your inevitable demise.
“Just watch my performance. It’ll be spectacular.”
For a moment you were tempted to curse him out as you usually would. However, you decided that if you’re gonna go out today, you’re going out with grace and elegance. It's only fitting as the fiance of a duke’s son.
[Player _____ will be killed at the hands of the person that loves them the most]
[The last arc of the game…]
[Starts Now]
Ignoring the status window, you ride the flying monster waiting for you. It’s the same monster that brought you to the beach before.
“I worked so hard just for you to defeat my baby.”
You gently spoke as you gracefully descended from the monster's back and onto the dead Electric Eel.
“...That’s your baby?”
Kim Rok Soo mumbled quite mournfully. He was supposed to be your baby after all.
“Wait how are you even here?”
He asked. Looking at you curiously.
“Oh, I’m the one summoning all the monsters you’ve been fighting. Was it fun? Ah, don’t ask me where they come from though. I have no idea where they came from. I can only summon them.”
You spoke as if there was nothing wrong. As if you guys aren't standing on the opposite sides of the battlefield.
“_____-nim…”
Choi Han, the man you have come to consider your brother, slowly called out to you.
“What are you doing?”
He asks, not minding the whispers from the people around you three.
“So that’s what happened to my Dark Tiger… Asking permission to borrow my things would have been appreciated, Your Highness.”
You addressed Alberu first before answering the swordmaster’s question.
“Don’t you still get it? Every play must end with the hero defeating the evil mastermind! And you Kim Rok Soo…”
The sword you summoned on the way here pointed towards your lover.
“You shall be the one who strikes the final blow.”
Kim Rok Soo’s brain connected the pieces. You smile while observing him. And that smile pissed him off.
Because you were smiling as if everything was okay.
As if you hadn’t just announced your death.
“And if I refuse?”
“Then I’ll be stuck here and die. You wouldn’t want that would you?”
“So I just have to kill you here?”
‘And then you’ll return to my arms in our world?’
You knew the silent question that lingered in the commander’s reddish-brown eyes.
“Yes.”
Yet you ignored it. Letting him believe that everything will be fine. That you will only die in this world. That nothing will happen to you in your world and all shall be well.
It was for his own good.
The only way for him to not fall into despair once more.
Drawing your sword once again, you beckoned for your lover to fight you.
“Everyone else stay back. I’ll summon another unranked monster if you interfere.”
“Follow what they say and just watch.”
You and Kim Rok Soo said before your powers clashed with each other.
Lightning after lightning struck you. However, your sword blocked most of them. Dodging the ones you couldn’t block.
When it was your turn to attack, you struck your sword towards Cale. Each slash either landed on the Indestructible Shield or was blocked by the Fire of Destruction.
“Your sword is stronger than this. I did not give you such a flimsy thing.”
Cale spoke as you failed to cut through his shield once more.
“Don’t worry this isn’t the one you gave– Ugh!”
A lightning struck you. Cale used it as an opportunity to land more hits.
“I was talking you know? You’re as rude as ever. Anyway, this one is a duplicate.”
Your sword managed to land a cut on the commander’s arm. Everyone else watched the two of you. People who don’t know you were wondering how can the two of you fight while bantering as if your lives aren’t on the line.
But not everyone in the audience didn’t know you. Two people in there knew you very well.
“I’m going back first. Something about this feels off.”
Alberu told Choi Han who was gripping his scabbard tightly.
“His Majesty is going first?”
“Seems like it.”
You can Cale continued talking as you fight. It reminded you of the small talks he would engage you in as you train.
It reminded you that this is probably the last time you will be able to talk to him like this.
“Ow! That hurts you know!”
A particular attack from the Sky Eating Water rendered you unable to pick up the sword. Cale took this as an opportunity to hold you down using the trees summoned earlier to fight the Electric Eel.
You watch as Cale turns off his Sound of the Wind. He walks towards you at a leisurely pace, picking up your sword on the way.
“I’m sorry.”
He said and you noticed his hand tremble ever so slightly.
“Don’t be. I’m happy that it’s you. Do you want to know what’s the prerequisite of my death?”
Cale did not answer but you said it anyway.
“I shall die by the hands of the one that loves me the most. That’s what it said.”
The commander’s eyes shook along with his hand.
“That’s why I’m glad…”
Blood spilt from your mouth as your sword stabbed your heart. From the corner of your eye, you could see Choi Han running towards where you are.
“_____-nim!”
Your brother called out to you as Cale let go of his control on the trees in favour of holding you instead.
There’s still blood spilling from your mouth but that didn’t stop you from smiling at him. Your smile was weak and tired, but it was the best you could do at the moment.
“I’m fine…”
You assured Cale squeezing your hand.
“I’ll be waiting for you in our world. So don’t be sad okay? Remember you have to overcome despair.”
“Promise?”
Cale asked you as he cradled your body in his chest.
“I promise.”
You left out the part that you’ll probably be dead or dying when he sees you.
Weakly, but full of determination you raised your left hand to link your pinkies together. The diamond in your engagement ring shone as you did. Meanwhile, your right hand is being held by Choi Han.
They said that your life will flash in your eyes at your last moments. No such thing happened to you. But you did remember a conversation that you and your lover had prior to this whole thing.
“So you’re birthday is on November 8th? Why are you only telling me this now? There’s so little time to prepare a gift for you!”
“What are you talking about it’s still so far away?”
“No, it’s not! It’s not enough time for me to prepare the perfect gift for you.”
That’s right, today is November 8 in this world. It’s Cale’s birthday…
“In Raon’s castle… My gift is there. He should know about it…”
“You can just give it to me yourself when we get back.”
Cale answered and you almost laughed at his cluelessness.
“...Happy birthday my love. May you always find happiness.”
Those were your last words before you took your last breath. Before your body slowly turned into dust in Cale’s hold.
But Cale wasn’t in despair even as you die.
He may be sad, but he wasn’t in despair.
It was because he was holding onto your words that you’d meet him back home.
That’s how Cale was able to pass the Sealed God’s test.
But why…
“MOVE ASIDE, LET PENDRICK AND SAINT-NIM HANDLE IT!”
Why was the first thing he heard as soon as he came back Alberu’s shouting when he was supposed to be in his castle making preparations?
“CALL FOR MORE HEALERS WE’RE LOSING _____-NIM!”
“_____ wake up. Please wake up.”
Alberu and Raon’s voice rang on his head.
At that moment. Rosalyn and Eruhaben noticed that he was back. They quickly greeted him before calling over Raon and Sherrit to remove the barrier that surrounded him.
“What’s happening?”
Cale asks as he enters the room where the shouts are coming from.
The sight made him stop in his tracks.
Laying on a grass bed that’s similar to where he was just a few minutes ago was his lover. His fiance.
They were lying there. Bleeding.
On the heart.
Exactly where Cale had stabbed them back on Earth.
A realisation dawned on him at the moment.
You just promised that you would meet him back home.
You did not promise that you would meet him alive.
Cale, the fool, had only assumed you would.

Was reading a fanfiction and this idea just poof up my brain
Cale, the trash young master who can only drink and throwing tantrums
One day, he came home "drunk" bringing a stranger
Something that never happened
It's Choi Jung Soo (he already read the novel)
Jung Soo told Cale (indirectly) to help his uncle and found a middle ground to not make Cale insult Harris village when he found the reason why
Two days after, he brought Choi Han
Three days later, it's Lee Soo Hyuk
And the next day, it's Kim Rok Soo
So, yeah, the young master suddenly bring in men whose three are definitely almost twice his age (lol)
With similar but unique appearances, even their names are foreigner
Cue their journey with some sprinkles of misunderstanding over their relationship
When Han found out that Jung Soo is his nephew, he turned into a kinda doting uncle
It's all GoD fault
It's polySoo×Cale

Cale then gave the children averaging nine-years-old an extra gold coin as allowance before disembarking from the ship.
<...>
Cale approached Choi Han who was warmly looking at the excited On and Hong and asked.
<...>
Cale handed over a bag with ten gold coins.
‘Unlucky bastard. I have to at least feed him a lot of delicious food.
It looks like he’s lost a lot of weight, so let’s fatten him back up.’
“This is for you.”
Choi Han had a shocked expression on his face, but Cale who had turned around and was walking with On and Hong in his arms could not see the expression.
This two proud parents and their kids make me want to cry. Also Cale, who lost his weight the most, doting over Choi Han is super cute.
The last few chapters i read gave so many feelings that i forgot to make quotes. The most important: i'm happy that On and Hong are back, missed this two kittens a lot. Also really liked the idea of Raon chatting with them while they were separated, i imagine this is actually a usual thing and they talk like this often, Raon keeping his siblings updated on the news

Cale observed the man in front of him with indifference. Fatigue and exasperation were accumulating inside him in an unpleasant way, facing the strange situation that had been imposed on him. "For the last time, I am not your Shizun" He declared firmly. Frankly, he had no intention of continuing to dialogue with someone who had burst into his residence to harass him with nonsensical absurdities. However, he suspected that if he did not do so, he might end up being beaten to death. 'Why must I endure these annoying bastards that come out of nowhere?' He thought with animosity.
"Yes, you are" Luo Binghe replied with a twisted smile, unflappable in the face of the redhead's denial. "I can sense Shen Qingqiu's soul in you, therefore, you are my Shizun" He insisted, leaning slightly to be at the young man's level, who remained impassive, even when Luo Binghe's voice turned dark and threatening. "Do you really think that, just by reincarnating in another world, you could escape from me, Shizun?"
'What kind of terrifying madness is this guy talking about?' Cale wondered, frowning at the man's insistence. He could only sigh. "You're completely crazy" He expressed bluntly. At that moment, he was ready to activate the Indestructible Shield if the man decided to attack him once he lost his patience. 'Although I do not know his strength, the shield should withstand one or two blows, enough time for Choi Han or Raon to arrive in the room as soon as they detect the presence of this bastard'

Alberu: Cale kissed me.
Choi Han: No?!
Bud: Oh my god oh my god oh my god!
Alberu: It was unbelievable!
Bud: Oh my god oh my god oh my god!!
Choi Han: Your highness we want to know everything! Bud, get the wine, and unplug the orb(?). Your highness, does this end well or do we need to get tissues?
Alberu: Oh it ended very well.
Bud, running into the room with wine glasses: Do not start without me! Do not start without me!
Choi Han: Was it a soft brush against the lips or a "I've got to have you now!" sort of thing?
Alberu: Well, at first it was really intense, you know?, and then we just kinda sunk into it.
Choi Han and Bud: Awe!
====
Cale: ...and then uh then I kissed him.
Rosalyn: Tongue?
Cale: Yeah.
Witera: Cool.

Choicale Headcanon #6: Big spoon, Little spoon
Choi Han likes being the big spoon. It makes him feel like he can protect and shield Cale from outside dangers. He also likes the feeling of knowing Cale is within his grasp and that Cale has a lot of trust in him be in his arms at all. Physical intimacy is also just a comfort for him in general since he did not receive any when he was in the Dark Forest.
Cale likes being little spoon for similar reasons. It’s a show of trust on his part for one thing. Proof he got over his original fears about Choi Han and that he’s trusted enough to be in a position of physical power over Cale. Even if he acts like he is just indulging Choi Han he actually finds his strong and reliable presence at his back comforting. He likes feeling as though he is being taken care of. Plus he’s fallen for the idea “spooning -> cuddles -> naps -> slacker life”.
They do occasionally swap for kicks or if Cale want to reassure/comfort Choi Han but their pretty content in their usual roles.

Just a small crush? Darling, I think it is bigger
Day 4- Coworkers/Snack/Fish
Kim Minah had been working at the Kim Company since before the company’s heir, Kim Roksoo, had started working there to get to know his workers and how things worked in the company.
She knew all of her coworkers well and had a good or neutral relationship with all of them.
So you can imagine her surprise when she starts to notice a change in her favorite coworker, Cale Henituse, a few weeks after Kim Roksoo joined their department.
She had never seen Cale blush or look unsure of himself but whenever he was near Roksoo that happened.
It was cute to see but it was so out of character that at first she thought someone had taken over her coworker’s body.
You would first see Cale smiling to someone as he subtly insults them than see him look like a teen with a crush…now that she thinks about it, Minah knew many girls and some boys had a crush on Cale(not like she could blame them but she was happily married…and even then her own husband had admitted that Cale was good looking) but he had never seen Cale attracted to someone or even heard him mention that he had a lover.
So, being the good and curious coworker that she was, Minah approached Cale and asked him to have his break with her on the company building’s rooftop as almost no one went there on their breaks unless it was to smoke so she could drill him about his sudden change without fear of anyone hearing them.
“So, did you get new gossip or something?” Cale asks as both where enjoying some snacks
“Why do you think so?” Minah asks trying to make an innocent face but Cale didn’t believe it as he gave her a look that made her laugh “I actually do not have much gossip this time but…I did notice this change on someone since the arrival of certain heir to the company” she adds smirking as she notices the almost not noticeable blush that forms in Cale’s face at her words
“I don’t know what you are talking about” Cale says looking to the side but that just makes it more obvious to Minah that Cale might have a crush on Roksoo
“Cale, I have never seen you blush or act as you do when Roksoo-ssi is nearby…I think I even thought you were ace or already married since you never showed interest in anyone” Minah says and Cale makes a face at that before sighing
“Maybe, just maybe I…might have a small crush on him” Cale finally admits
“Just a small crush? Darling, I think it is bigger” Minah tells him and Cale pouts as he looks at his drink
“It’s not my fault” Cale mumbles “He is exactly my type and despite looking very dismissive and cold, he has been kind whenever we interacted” he adds and Minah hums at that since Roksoo had been respectful to everyone in the company even if he had more power than any of them would ever have “But…it isn’t like I would ever have a chance” he says sighing
“Why do you say that? You are an amazing catch” Minah says not liking to see Cale looking like this
“You must have realized I never mention my parents or friends outside of stupid Choi Han, right?” he asks and she nods since Choi Han himself had told Minah about the strange friendship he shared with Cale after he beat him up for a comment he made and later they both apologized to each other “My parents divorced and my mother moved to Korea starting her own company with my uncle and I came with her while my father stayed in France and remarried a year after the divorce and had two more kids” he explains “Neither have time for me with their new lives, I lost contact with my old friends since they found other friends or started dating and until you and Choi Han all my ‘friends’ had been people who wanted to approach me for my money or appearance” he adds and Minah winces because she could understand that having all that happen would destroy anyone’s belief that love was for them but she knew that anyone who dated Cale would be very lucky so seeing him not believing that there could be someone who could love him hurt her
“That doesn’t mean that Roksoo-ssi couldn’t like you or you might find someone who will love you forever” Minah reminds him but Cale just gives her a bitter smile
“I thought my parents would love me forever but I can’t even remember the last time my father called me or I saw my mother in person” he says and good, Minah wishes to slap everyone who hurt Cale “And sooner or later you and stupid Choi Han will leave me behind too” he adds and Minah doesn’t like this one bit
“You will never get rid of me, I will make you all of my kids’ godfather and make you deal with us forever” she promises but Cale just gives her a fake smile so she knows that her only option is to show him that she was saying the truth while also noting mentally to talk with Choi Han since he deserves to also knows this because no matter how strange their friendship is, Minah can clearly see that Choi Han loves Cale as a sibling
“Anyways, we should go our lunch break time will end soon” Cale says as he starts to grab his things and Minah can only do the same and follow him as they return to their department
.
.
.
Roksoo was never one to spy on people, especially on something that he knows he should not listen to, but it wasn’t his fault that neither had noticed him when they arrived on the rooftop.
He was thinking of making his presence known but when he heard Minah mention him, he got curious about what it could be since he wanted to know what his father’s workers thought about him.
Hearing that the pretty boy of the advertisement department has a crush on him wasn’t what he would expect but Roksoo wasn’t unhappy with finding that out since he could admit that he also may have a crush on Cale Henituse.
After hearing that, he knew he should have left since that was something Roksoo was sure Cale didn’t want him to listen to but he was too late to leave and heard everything until they left.
Unfortunately, Roksoo could understand Cale insecurity too well since his birth parents died when he was young and then he was taken in by his piece of shit uncle who fucked him up more than the loss of his parents did.
But unlike Cale, Roksoo had been lucky to have been found by his older cousin Kim Dokja and his husband who took him in when he was around 13 and despite how long it took for Roksoo to trust them and learn that he deserved to be loved, he had been saved and showed that he deserved all good things.
So, he didn’t like that Cale had been left behind and never shown he deserved to be loved after everything suddenly changed in his life until now.
Roksoo knew that Minah adored Cale and supposed that the Choi Han mentioned also did the same but Cale didn’t wish to believe it or ignored those signs to not end up heartbroken.
And Roksoo…he couldn’t let the person he likes believe that so he will work hard to make Cale understand that he is loved and that not everything will leave him…even if Cale is stubborn about it because one thing Roksoo took from his adoptive parents is how to be more stubborn than anyone else.
.
.
.
Choi Han didn’t know if he should laugh or comfort his nephew over his ‘dilemma’.
He had heard from Minah that Cale, his bastard of a little brother, had a crush on the heir of Kim Company which he knew is Jungsoo, his nephew, friend and had come to their house sometimes but never actually met.
Of course that the reason why Choi Han was unsure of what to do wasn't really related to this connection but to the fact Jungsoo came whining to Choi Han about how Kim Roksoo had been courting someone and he had only been told about it today.
While he hadn't known at the beginning that it had been Roksoo sending those letters and flowers to Cale, it didn't take long for Choi Han to find out when Minag came to him yelling about Cale’s crush confessing to him.
At first Cale hadn't accepted because he thought it was a prank and was insecure over being worth any love(he was more than worth any love in the world and Choi Han will remind him of that when he gives his best man speech at his wedding and any other moment to make sure it stays in Cale’s head) but Roksoo didn't give up and continued to show how much he loved Cale and that he deserved being loved.
Even if it took a year, enough for Roksoo already being working as his father's secretary before taking over, Roksoo finally got Cale to accept his feelings and Choi Han was overjoyed with it as Cale seemed happier now that he was with Roksoo.
Choi Han really hoped that Roksoo would continue to make his little brother happy and keep his promise of never abandoning him.
“Maybe he wanted to make sure their relationship was one that would last before telling you” Choi Han tells Jungsoo
“But his parents already knew!” Jungsoo whines and Choi Han can only sigh before trying to think of a way to make his nephew stop whining since he had a date and couldn't arrive late to it just because of his nephew
.
.
.
“Hmm, how about we go on a small vacation before I take over my parents' company?” Roksoo asks Cale as both are in his bed cuddling and watching a movie
“A small vacation?” Cale mumbles as he thinks about it “It sounds like a good idea but where would we go?” he says and Roksoo hums as he thinks about it
“Papa said that father had bought him a small house in Thailand, how about we go there? I'm sure they wouldn't mind if we used it” Roksoo says as he remembers Joonghyuk telling him about that small house
“If they don't really mind it then I would like to” Cale answers smiling at him to which Roksoo kisses him softly
“I will ask them and then request vacations for both of us” Roksoo says and Cale nods at that before laying his head in Roksoo’s shoulder to continue watching the movie
Roksoo smiled softly at this before also turning his head to the movie.
‘From coworkers to boyfriends…and if everything goes according to plan then he will be my fiance soon’ Roksoo thinks one last time before he gets absorbed into the movie they are watching

"Slacker Life Right?"
CHAPTER 3 (beta)
(Choi Han x Cale)

______________________________________
Chapter 3
Choi Han was sweaty,
It dripped off him in trickles and tickled his skin.
He was glad he decided to take his shirt off after their warm-up earlier.
"Hyung- I mean Teacher-nim here!"
Said Lock,
Jogging over, holding a cold towel around his neck handing out a second towards Choi-Han, Raon had made them be passed around, casting magic on them so they'd stay cool and damp. Choi Han nodded affirmingly, accepted the towel.
Using it to cool down the back of his neck as well as dragging it down his chest and abdominals to clean up the stray beads of sweat.
It wasn't that he was tired; or that he found attacking the children while making sure not to harm them taxing, it was simple (don't tell the kids that though, or they'll sulk).
No, he was just excited after seeing them improve so much.
He glanced down at his scarred arms where new light scuffs made by his students were present.
He smiled down at them, which might seem strange, to smile as scratches and dirty marks. But it was evidence of their progress and that made him feel proud as their instructor.
Suddenly, cold liquid was splashed over his arms as an expensive healing potion poured onto his student's achievements.
Choi Han looked regretfully down at his now , scratchless arms.
"Raon-nim, there was no need to treat such minor scuffs with one of your great potions"
Choi-Han said gratefully so as not to offend the young dragon.
"Our human is quite weak that even such a scratch could make him faint for hours!-
-Choi Han!
-I know you are much more durable and stronger than our human, but he said specifically to not get too carried away and get hurt!-
-I have many more of these potions and I the great Raon Miru can always make more!-
-These aren't even the best I will be capable of! Soon I will be even better than Goldie Gramps at making potions-
*mwah haha!"
Raon exclaimed. Seeming to have wanted an excuse to boast and show off his latest potions (perhaps that was the true reason he had decided to join and watch today's training instead of staying by Cale-nim's side).
"-I see"
Choi Han responded with a smile
"Indeed such potions  that would be outstanding to even the greatest palace magician are simple and easy for our great and mighty Raon! "
Raon, very pleased with Choi Han's praise lifted his nose and chin high in the air letting out a puff of steam. His little wings fluttering excitedly.
"Indeed I am great and mighty, I will take care of even the tiniest injuries with my potions so that our weak human won't worry!"
"-Hey wolf kids come here this great and mighty dragon will heal you
*ah haha!"
he took off and began pouring more expensive potions upon the rest of the wolf children and cat tribe siblings.
Choi Han lifted his hand to his mouth to cover his soft laugh as he watched the merry dragon douse the other kids in high-grade potions. It reminded him of kids having water balloon fights durrinf summer in Korea.
As he quietly chuckled and reminisced, acutely he felt a familiar pair of eyes staring at him.
He turned around and looked up to the place his eyes would always wander to from the garden. Through the window on the top floor of the manor, there was a silhouette he'd recognize even if he lost both his eyes and was blind.
With his experience and aura skills he could see the window as clearly as if he was standing on the terrace. Cale watching over him as always. His liege, his commander, his savior, his sworn brother and his closest friend. Though Cale could not see Choi Han as clearly as Choi Han could see him.
Choi Han knew that he and Cale were looking at each other.
They were staring deep into each other's eyes as they had done many times before.
And in those infinitesimal moments, he knew that they were one in their feelings.
That they were connected more deeply than anyone else.
And that was all he needed...
For Cale to continue to watch over him closely from afar.
to meet his eyes and simply...know him.
  "--- Teacher-nim!"
His gaze broke and he looked away to acknowledge his students.
"We are ready to train again!"
"yeah, Raon-nim used his potions on us!"
"I feel like I could definitely reach your upper arm with my claws this time!"
  "yeah!"
he was about to reply when he felt a different gaze pierce him.
He looked and could see Beacroz standing by the villa entrance with his arms crossed. Though his posture was patient his eyes were not.
"We'll stop here, looks like Beacrox has lunch prepared, I don't want to be scolded for sending you in all messy like last time"
Choi Han replied under the pressured watch of Chef Beacrox.
"awww~"
The kids protested but when Beacrox violently cleared his throat they quickly scampered off giving their thanks to Choi Han for training them.
After watching them all run off he was about to begin his own training when he heard the sound of Beacrox approaching him.
He didn't bother turning around and prepared his aura to begin his excersise.
"You can just save my plate... I'll eat when I'm done"
"You should just eat when someone goes to the trouble of preparing food instead of letting it run cold"
Choi Han thinking that sounded like something Cale would say (though more rude) he released his aura and turned around to give Beacrox an annoyed glare.
Though they grew to trust each other as comrades some things never changed...
But Beacrox's appearance was surprising to Choi Han,
He was faintly flush, his skin looked damp as if he'd been sweating,  he had a hair strand out of place and his breathing seemed 0.02 times faster than normal, his eyebags seemed darker too and he looked annoyed.
More annnoyed than when dirt was into the Villa.
Normally, someone wouldn't be able to notice these changes in Beacon except maybe Ron (or Cale if he actually paid attention). But Choi Han was observant. And as a Sword Master he could even read a personad heart rate if he put in the effort.
"I guess it takes even Beacrox a lot of exertion to prepare food for 13 beast children and a baby dragon"
"Alright..."
Choi Han replied with a little more respect.
"My Father wants a word with you"
Choi Han frowned, the respect immediately lost.
"tsk-"*
Choi Han clicked his tongue.
He didn't bother asking the reason from Beacrox knowing he wouldn't get an answer.
Now that the war was over it seemed Ron was pestering him more than ever.
"-in Kitchen"
Beacrox said.
And having finished his Task Beacrox headed back to the villa, but not before giving him knowing smirk.
Now that just annoyed Choi Han further. Why did this father Son duo always get on his nerves?
Choi Han let out a long sigh to release his irritation.
He glanced longingly back to the terrace window but the he was already gone.
Grabbing his shirt he headed inside to see what Ron wanted.

The streets of Roan Kingdom's Capital were bustling like usual. The vendors selling their goods, children running around carelessly, mothers screaming at them to not get dirty, and the usual underground activity Arm did.
I strolled through these streets, thinking of nothing and relaxing ‘til I get another mission.
“That reminds me…Arm has been quiet as of late. Sigh…they are up to no good…” I spoke to no one in particular, walking back to the Quiet Isle lodge.
Quiet Isle is an inn in an area a little off the center of the Capital. I stayed there for the past three weeks after finishing my last mission. The price to stay is cheap, while still being comfortable. It has comfortable rooms, a clear view, free breakfast, and most importantly, it wasn’t noisy at all! Bonus points for the innkeepers, as they have been nothing but sweethearts.
All-in-all, a good Inn if you’re looking to get your coins worth.
I went through the inn’s doors, a sweet aroma of lavender hitting my nostrils as I neared the front desk.
The Innkeepers were an old couple, and the misses genuinely enjoyed the smell of lavender. That is why, as you walk through the inn, you’ll be met with an influx of light purples from the flowers.
Reaching the desk, I was greeted by a senior woman whose smile could cure all kinds of child injuries.
“Oh! Why if it is the youth I’m all too familiar with!” The old granny said, delighted to see me.
“Greetings, Granny Fes,” I vowed curtly with a small smile. “Have there been any new guests at the inn?” I asked as she extended her hand to give me a piece of candy.
Receiving the small candy, I offered a small ‘thank you.’ She said a quick ‘You’re welcome!’ before responding to my question. “Yes, yes! I welcomed a few new guests shortly after you left this morning for a stroll!” she excitedly told me.
“Two of the five I welcomed are a couple expecting a child! Isn't that exciting? Ouu, to be young again…”
“Oh, please. I say you are still quite young!” I say to get her head out of that cloud.
“Fufufu, you are too kind [Name].” Granny Fes pinched my cheek as she got a bit flustered. “I believe one day you’ll meet a handsome young man that is suited just for you.” She added.
I blushed a little, “Oh no, I don’t think that will happen…” I pause for a second. “Do you really think I’ll get lucky enough to have that...?” I asked, not believing I would get someone special to spend my days with.
“Don’t give me that!” Granny Fes yelled, as if scolding one of her own. “You are beautiful! Which man wouldn't dream of having a wife such as yourself!?”
All I could do was smile in response. This is how I want things to always go. Living in a peaceful area, sharing memories with people I meet along the way, even starting a family. Arm is nowhere near that picture. And it will never be.
But alas. Good things always end.
“Ah! That reminds me. [Name],” she called my name and handed me an envelope, “You received mail from a young lad. He said it was urgent.”
Looking at the envelope as Granny Fes left to continue her job, I had an ominous feeling, yet I couldn’t pinpoint what it was.
I turned it around only to see Arm’s seal stamped on it. Arm only sends letters if it is an important mission, and based on the color of the seal, it is of utmost importance.
I am already not liking this I thought, refusing to open the letter. Maybe if I were to pretend its existence was nothing but a useless paper, it would disappear. But alas, I needed to open the envelope. With worry present in my face I opened it with the seal. Inside was a letter addressing Agent White Gold.
That code name. It is the thing I despised most in this world.
To Agent White Gold,
Play time is up, White Gold. You have been assigned a mission in the Henituse Territory. We have discovered the traces of the leader of the organization known as ‘True Arm.’ Your mission is to go there and find out who the leader of the organization is, dead or alive. It is your choice which one you pick.
A carriage will come to pick you up at sunrise, so don’t miss it.
Once you arrive at your destination one of our men will greet you and guide you to your resting location and hand you an envelope. Inside, you will find descriptions of the one we are looking for, alongside a list of individuals that we found to match the description of our target.
Remember, Agent, we are counting on your success.
Don’t disappoint us,
Arm
Dammit… The moment I receive some peace after working for them like a slave…! I angrily store the letter to shreds, as if it were them instead of the letter. All I wanted was to disappear from the eyes of those bastards. They took me from my home, changed me to fit in an identity they made…they just can’t leave me alone, can they?

I wanted to say no. To be able to run away to a far corner of the world so they would never be able to find me. But it is impossible. No one leaves. Rather, they die. Dying was the only way out.
Yet, I want to live.
I looked at Granny Fes as she talked with a few guests that were checking out. At that moment I knew that if I tried to escape, they would get everyone I was surrounded by. She doesn't deserve that. Neither does her husband, or her children and grandchildren.
It is best I comply.
“Sigh…Once you're in, there is no escaping their grasp…”
The sky was tainted in hues of blues, purples, and oranges. The sun was rising from the nap it took, and fully ready to greet us.
A carriage arrived early at the Quiet Isle Inn. Inside stood Granny Fes and Gramps Liy right next to me. Their eyes expressed sadness when looking at me.
“Why so sad?” I asked the couple.
“Oh, it’s just…it’s just that we’re both sad you’re leaving so soon.” Granny Fes confessed. Her husband, a bit more stubborn, only scuffed. Granny Fes elbowed him hard with a smile still shooting at me, gaining a small scowl from Gramps Liy.
“AGHEM,” he raised one hand to fake a cough, “I guess you will be missed.”
I laugh at his antics. Deep down he cares, he just has an unconventional way of expressing his feelings.
“I’ll miss the two of you.” I looked at them with a small hinge of sadness but kept a smile to reassure them. I looked outside to see the coachman wave his hand signaling that he was ready for departure. “It seems I must go,” I turned to them, “see you later?”
“Yes, yes. Goodbye little lady.” Gramps Liy ‘shud’ me to the carriage as he and his wife stared at me opening the door of the carriage.
“Farewell, sweetheart. Make sure to take good care of yourself. And remember to look out for good lads while you’re traveling!” Granny Fes nagged me like I was about to never come back. Although, she was right about that. I don’t think I will be able to come back if I want to protect them.
I laughed and said a small ‘I will!’ as I climbed into the carriage. Closing the door the carriage started moving. I waved to the couple one last time before I could not see them anymore.
Sighting, I took out the map I packed. Looking at my destination, it was a few days from the capital. “This is going to be a loong trip…” I commented, making myself comfortable for the journey ahead.
I hope I get this mission done quickly, so I can get another vacation from Arm. I looked up at the ceiling. I mean…how hard could it be to find this ‘leader’ anyways?
…
An old butler walks dutifully around the state halls. In hand, he holds a tray with a fancy tea set with a steel dome keeping the food inside warm; its aroma could be smelled by the passing housekeepers with wet laundry.
The butler knocked at a door, he did not have to wait long, as he got an immediate response from the person inside. Opening the door he says his greetings.
“Good morning, young master. I brought breakfast along with your favorite drink.” He says as he places down the tray on the table close to the window.
“Ah, thank you, Ron.” A male voice thanked the butler.
“It is my pleasure, young master Cale.” The butler, Ron, bowed.
The man, who is now identified as Cale, sat down on the table to enjoy his breakfast.
“Young master, if I may…” Ron waited for permission to continue speaking.
“*Sight* Just spit it out.” Cale said in an uninterested voice. This is another one of his tangents. Drinking the lemonade that Ron made as he thinks of Ron’s earlier endeavors.
Ron smiled, “I have detected Arm activity within the city.”
“PFF–” spilling all the lemonade on the cup, he looked at Ron with widened eyes.
What is Arm doing here?! They have more pressing issues to deal with! Like, figuring out who Real Arm is! Cale’s thought went haywire.

Ron took his handkerchief out and gave it to Cale to use.
“What do you mean there is Arm activity in the city? Is it more bombs?” He asked while using the cloth given to him to clean the mess he made.
He shook his head, “no, at least not yet. I have seen them snoop around the city for information. It would seem we left them a small lead.”
“Not good…”
“If you’d prefer, young master, I could go rabbit hunting.”
Looking at Ron with a drop of sweat evident in his forehead, he reluctantly answered. “...do whatever you want.”
“Hehe. Then I will take my leave.” He bowed before leaving the room without making a sound.
Scary old man. He looked outside pouring more lemonade in his cup. It’s not a good sign if Arm is here. I need to prepare in case they strike.
…
“Hey, wake up! We’re almost there!”
“WHAT? HUH–huh?” I got up from my seat at lightning speed, looking around in a daze. As I scoot closer to the window, I see the giant walls looming overhead. On top of one of the towers built in the wall was a flag. It was the Henituse’s family crest imprinted on it.
I’m already in the Henituse territory!
Getting closer at the entrance door of the city, the carriage stopped, as they had to do a check before letting anyone in.
“Execute me, m’lady. May I have your identification paper?” A soldier asked me.
Security check? When I traveled to other places, they didn’t ask for my identification but the coachman’s.
I handed him the paper without complaint, receiving it right after he checked that everything was good. The other soldiers gave him a thumbs up after checking the carriage and the coachman. Without further interruption they let us through, wishing us a happy stay.
“That was…something.”
The coach man dropped me off at a tavern near the city square. Going upstairs to the second floor of the establishment, I sat down at a table near the edge of the balcony. Waiting for the man that was supposed to give me the information mentioned in the letter I looked out into the streets, I could see the liveliness of the people.
They were too lively in my opinion.
Hearing footsteps approaching my table I diverted my attention to them. I was greeted with a man wearing a hat with fancy clothing.
“Hello, m’lady,” the man greeted by taking his hat off and vowing curtly.
Didn’t know Arm also had rich allies. I thought, seeing the man's mannerisms.
“Good evening,” I vowed slightly, “are you the one mentioned in the letter?”
“Eager now, are we?” He sat down in front of me with a smug smile. He placed his hat down before taking out an envelope. He slid it across the table. As I grabbed it, I took out its content.
It was a list of suspects. They all had red hair and were male. And that was it. No underground activities, no records, nothing.
“That’s…it?”
This is the only information they managed to find…seriously? I thought. Was someone able to sneak past Arm’s noses? How is that even possible?
“Unfortunately, it is.”
“Ha...!” I laughed at the absurdity of the situation. I looked up at the man after reviewing the list of suspects.
“This is the only description we managed to find,” the smile on his face dropped into a frown, “only at the low cost of our scouts: a single spy was able to escape long enough to hide a piece of paper in a tree trunk…” he said.
“....” I looked down at the list.
To be able to kill all of our scouts…this is no meek foe. Just thinking of how strong they are sends shivers down my spine…
“I have arranged a small room at an Inn close by here. I have left some equipment at your disposal. The location is on one of the papers in the envelope.” The man stood up and put his hat on, adjusting his suit a little before looking at me.
“If you need anything else, I left a card at your place with instructions as to how you can contact me. Remember I’m at your service m’lady, Tata! ~”
“I will keep that in mind.”
Watching as he disappeared behind the doors of the second floor, I decided to order something to eat before heading to my fixed place.

“…a festival?” Cale looked at the flier given to him.
“That’s right,” Count Deruth, Cale’s father, said nonchalantly, “the festival will brighten the people's moods, as well as show that we are financially good.”
Politics….
“Wait, here it says the ‘Henituse’s’ are attending…I don’t have to attend…right?”
Deruth raised an eyebrow in question. “You don’t have to go.”
“...”
I must go. *Sight* My well-deserved rest has been postponed once again… can’t I catch a break for once?
“On that note, I have reserved a spot on the city square where we will be presiding during the time,” he said as Cale gave him back the paper.
“You don’t have to talk–or better said–you don’t have to even move. Just sitting there is enough.”
Cale smiled at this I don’t have to move? Seems perfect to me!
“I’ll be attending in that case.”
“The festival will start in a few days. Be ready.”
Cale exited his father’s study, walking back to his room.
I need to tell Ron about this. It’ll be no surprise if Arm takes advantage of the festival. There stands a man with black hair waiting outside Cale’s room for him to come.
“!”
“Young master Cale!” The man runs towards him with puppy-like energy.
“Choi Han, is there something you need?” Cale asked.
“I heard from Ron that there have been suspicious activities happening in the city. So, I came to ask for permission to investigate.” Hans explained.
Cale hummed. Strange. Usually, you would do these types of things without letting me know. Perhaps he thinks this is a bit dangerous and if he doesn't return, we know where to look?
“You can do as you please, no need to ask for my permission.”
“I see…thank you young master,” Han vowed, “I will report back immediately once I find anything!” As he said that, he began to leave.
“Oh, and, Choi Han?” Cale spoke before he could fully leave.
“Yes, Cale?”
“If you find anything, make sure to report first. Don’t go around making havoc, got it?” Cale instructed.
“...yes” he responded with a bit of thinking, knowing it was the best decision.
Let’s see what they have in store for us. Cale entered his room, he’ll laze around until the festival actually begins. What a bother…
