Thinking about Raon today.

I just, I love how "fate" kind of "repaid him" all the suffering he went through from birth, by giving him a whole family. And I don't mean a "bunch of friends that act like a family unit", I mean that our beloved black Dragon has literally collected himself a complete family with assigned roles like it was a contest:

Cale as his adopted dad

On and Hong as his siblings

Sheritt as his biological mom

Eruhaben as his grandpa on the "mom side" of the Dragon family (it's a small family tree alright, let's not kid ourselves; all Dragons have to be related)

Deruth and Violan as his grandparents on his "dad side", plus Basen and Lily as aunt & uncle/cousins

Mila as his Dragon aunt, she literally asked to be called that

Dodori as his Dragon cousin

And we can even assign other family roles if we really think about it, and it's not even much of a strech

Choi Han as his cousin, because KRS and CJS were basically bros so it's all in the family

Rosalyn takes a peer role as a blooming mage

Mary as his bff/adopted sis

Alberu as the Cookie Uncle, which I assure you is a completely valid place in the family tree

Tasha as the aunt of an uncle, because why not

Ron is totally another grandpa figure, maybe grand-uncle, literally being called "lemon gramps"

Beacrox by extension is another cousin

Lock and his siblings probably as cousins as well

Sui Khan & CJS join in on the cousin madness later on

I think it's safe to include Rasheel at this point, he clearly has the grumpy uncle role written all over him

Dragon Half-Blood/Eden as another relative

probably other characters I'm forgetting right now

So yeah... Raon really did collect himself a whole freaking family set with no effort at all 😂

Seeing snippets of the new manhwa season because I'm too busy reading script revisions to read lotcf huhu made me realise just how near the war arc is

Bro it felt like just yesterday I was complaining about how long we would have to wait for Commander Cale and now I can practically feel it in my fingertips

I've always headcanoned that Cale, in the narrative context of TBOAH, was meant to be a Chekhov's Gunman type of character who would be the key to defeat the White Megalomaniac one and for all.

At some point, Choi Han and his party finally confront the leader of Arm. However, Choi Han notices something alarming. Red hair. Not a bold red like Roselyn's, but a deep, blood red like that one nobleman whom he had beaten up after insulting the deceased Harris Villagers.

But it can't be Cale Henituse. Ron confirmed it himself. The fallen nobleman has been diligently serving as a soldier ever since the destruction of the Henituse Territory. However, there's a chance that there may be a connection or Cale might know something.

Keep this in mind, this is an alternate universe where the right circumstances have lined up perfectly to give this world a more optimistic ending.

In this universe, Jour lingers on a little while longer. Just long enough to request that her last moments be spent with her only son. She tells Deruth that it has something to do with the Thames, and he immediately understood.

With mother and son left alone, Jour tells Cale about his birthright, the remaining half of the Annual Rings of Life and what's to come when she saw her son's life in its entirety laid to bare in front of her. And the reason for why she made such a drastic decision for the greater good.

You see, there's a reason why Jour was the sole living Thames other than Cale and her younger brother. When Jour was a teenager, her family consisted of both of her parents and two brothers. Then her older brother had sired a child, and that changed everything.

Those extra precious minutes Cale spent with his dying mother made all the difference for this world.

Those extra minutes birthed an alternate universe where while they do not have a KRS Ex Machina to turn things around, they do have something that can give their story a hopeful aftermath instead of a long, drawned-out tragedy.

You know? I have been thinking for a while now. About [The Birth Of A Hero] novel. KRS!Cale only read up to volume 5 right? But the novel itself is longer and has more volume than that. It makes me wonder. Does the novel depict the whole 20-year-long war that ends in a tragedy? Does that mean in the novel, the [Cale Henituse] who was only a minor villain in the few first volumes will come back as a relevant side character? Because [The Birth Of A Hero] was meant to be a guide for Choi Jung Soo to change things. And [Cale Henituse] is important due to his Thames bloodline and the [Anual Rings Of Life] Accient Power which is important to kill the White Star requires someone with the Thames bloodline. Does the novel later reveal all those details about [Cale Henituse]? Does the novel also reveal [Alberu Crossman]’s true nature and origin? He is, after all, an important character as he is the one gathering people in the doomed future.

It's interesting to think about what else is written in there. And let's not forget, how interesting it is if KRS!Cale has all this information from the start. How KRS!Cale would act if he had read all the volumes of [The Birth Of A Hero] before he woke up in Cale's body? Knowing that the protagonist, [Choi Han] won't be able to handle everything because the novel has shown him how it ended in a tragedy? And what he will do from the start with all this extra knowledge that he knows, about ARM and the White Star, about the original owner of his current body, [Cale Henituse]’s relevant role in the bigger scheme, about everything including the Accient Powers and Gods?

no because record is so tragic but also so incredibly useful and funny. Like I bet Kim Roksoo memorized like a thousand digits of pi for a bet by his co workers for soup dumplings or something. I bet Cale is incredibly good at learning new languages, but specifically also knows every swear word in existence (this is partially canon). I bet he'd memorize every team member's name in a sports anime the first time they're introduced. Adding on to the language thing I bet he'd learn a foreign language entirely just so he could screw with like chinese scam callers or something, if those still exist. Actually, he'd probably be dedicated to learn as many languages as possible so he could tell when some foreigner is talking smack about him behind his back. And I already talked about his passwords.

Bright and noble, it fits him so perfectly and doesn't at the same time XD

Like yes when he is a crown prince he is bright and noble, appearance wise and manner wise both. He has blond hair and blue eyes and a smile that puts even the sun to shame with how bright it is.

And when he is bob, he is a chaotic gremlin, especially with Cale. He lets go of his crown prince persona and becomes..well bob XD, his appearance becomes dark cause obviously he is a quarter dark elf and the bright smile is replaced by a frown or any other look (mostly wtf, i am so done, etc).

Of course my baby is still very bright in his dark elf form. His smile can light up a dark alley way even during midnight, and it most definitely lights up my world(˵ ¬ᴗ¬˵)
