Imagine a story where Cale died to WS but he's stuck in a time loop.

Every time he dies, he comes back to the day before Choi Han comes to the territory. Unlike Rok Soo, Cale doesn't have a book that has all the details and clues he needs to accomplish his goal. He went through trial and error to find information and gather the right allies.

For years and years and years, until Cale feels like he's losing his mind

When he manages to kill WS in one regression, he thought it was over. But he woke up and he's back in the beginning.

He doesn't understand WHY.

Wasn't his whole reason for coming back is to kill WS?

Turns out 2 things are at play.

1) He didn't "kill" WS. He only caused WS to reincarnate into another body. So he didn't fulfil his purpose.

2) His soul isn't at rest. In his path of vengeance, he lost sight of who he is. He loves his family, but in his regressions, he never truly bonded with them. He is forgetting his love for them as each regression passes, slowly pushing them away until they're more like strangers instead of family.

Maybe, when Cale was first killed by WS, he invoked some deep rooted power of the Thames. You know, the power of time.

Maybe that's his AP. The power to go back in time until he fulfilled a "goal"

TOTCF canon-divergence AU/headcanon where Choi Han develops Prosopagnosia (face-blindness) due to his trauma from the 'tens of years' spent in the Forest Of Darkness.

He doesn't realize this at first.

Its been so long since he'd seen another human face, he'd even forgotten the faces of his own family after loosing the only photo he had of them. His increased senses allow him to identify a person just by their breathing or their aura, so he doesn't even notice his inability to remember facial features or recognize expressions.

I imagine Cale/Rook Soo picked up on this but never brings it up as he rightfully infers it has to do with his trauma from the Forest of Darkness (though Cale-soo can be pretty dense so who knows it's a 50/50 shot)

As he begins to heal from his trauma and isolation while traveling with Cale and everyone he has these vague moments of carity where he experiences brief senses of recognition of expressions or features.

Like noticing the bright burning red of Cale or Rosalyn's hair during a sunset or in the light flames, or the young and innocent smile of Lark.

SPOILERS BELOW

The first time he really experiences this earth shattering recognition and finally turlly "sees" someone's face is when he finds out that Cale is a fellow Korean. He suddenly just sees all of him and when he gets Choi Jung Soo's memories and he finally see's Kim Rook Soo's face he finally "Sees" Cales face aswell.

But what Rok Soo doesn't is, Cale always dreamt about their life together but always forget it when he woke up

And it keep happening

They will not reborn as brothers again and without any memories

But when a certain condition meet, they will remember

They might not born as family again, but fate always brought them to meet each other

Binge reading the whole novel from chapter 1…idk why it makes me feel so happy and at peace doing this after all the shitty things that have happened over the past months.

This novel really brings me a sense of comfort i can’t describe with words. And am so so soooo glad for the day i came across this and finally decided to try it way back.

After getting back to it with this long gap….it almost feels like im reading it for the first time.

The vibes, the prologue and the whole plot which i know is gonna unfold…ngl it’s sorta giving me the chills.

ik i might sound exaggerated but it really does feel like this and idk what to say otherwise.

Like I will say it is a lil huh, at the same time it also can highlight how similar they are aswell

like most of the changes shown because of them being different people are things that can be written off as a change of heart. But also the implications of how similar they are make me loose it, especially in regards to OG!Cale into Rok Soo.

Knowing what we do of KRS pre transmigration it is pretty accurate to say that those are large shoes to fill, the strategic capability Cale needs to effectively take hold of KRS life is astonishing. And he does it.

There was a reason that out of all the people The God of Death chose for Cale to switch with, he chose KRS. and vice versa.

Mini rant lmao but like I just love the implications of it, because the implications alone can tell as a lot of OG!Cales character despite the lacking content towards him as a hole.

It's ridiculous how no one knows Kim Rok Soo and og! Cale enough to notice that they literally swapped souls.

Just got an idea of another twin AU

With Cale resemble Jour more than Roksu

Deruth avoidance and Roksu unconsciously does the same

At some point when they already 18

Cale need to go somewhere only to come back home during a storm

Unconscious and bloody, just like Jour

Deruth and Roksu got a violence flashback and Cale's image overlap with Jour

For a week straight, not once Cale open his eyes and keep coughing blood occasionally in his sleep

Then wake up eerily blank and still for a moment before falling asleep again

Roksu never leave Cale's side

Cale wake up after a month

But after that accident, he will so suddenly cough up blood and faint

Even if it's not requent, it's still worrying with the amount of blood and duration of his fainting

It's like a time-ticking bomb until Cale might never open his eyes again

They got trauma that triggered by the sound of Cale coughing

Roksu is tempted to just lock Cale up and chained him so he doesn't go out or will be in danger
