Cal's happy poncho dance warms my heart <3 <3 <3 He's all right with some of the other options... but nothing lights him up the way putting on a poncho does <3
(for @mordororbust who thought I wasn't putting Cal in enough ponchos!)

Lost Stolen & Found
Cal Kestis x Reader
Summary: Cal finds something valuable that he thought he'd lost years ago.
Warnings/Tags: No warnings, SFW, fluff and humour, no use of Y/N, no pronouns used, during Jedi: Survivor, minor spoilers for Jedi: Survivor.
A.N.: My fourth entry for Cal Kestis Week 2024! It follows the Day 4 prompt 'Ponchos'. I know this is from one of the previous days and while I would love to tackle the current day's prompts, I don't have any ideas for them yet. I don't want to force myself to write just for the sake of writing uwu
Also, When I showed one of my friends a picture of Cal in the pink poncho, he said that the pink is a bit clashy with Cal's hair, and that is what lead to this story ;3 Gif by me!
Also on AO3!

Pyloon’s Saloon was bustling with its usual crowd when You walked in, looking around for your beloved redhead. When You couldn’t find him, You walked over to the kitchen, spotting Greez behind the counter as he cooked something that smelled quite delicious.
The Latero glanced up as You approached, giving You a nod. “You seen Cal yet?” He asked while stirring a pot.
“I’m on my way to see him, actually. Why?” You asked, your voice filled with confusion.
Greez snorted, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “Well, you’re in for a surprise,” he chuckled, sounding quite cryptic as he returned to his cooking.
Shrugging, You continued your trek downstairs towards your quarters. As the doors slid open, You stopped in your tracks, unable to suppress a laugh. There stood Cal, checking himself out in the mirror, wearing something so bright and pink that it clashed horribly with his red hair. BD-1 stood besides him, shaking his little head in playful disapproval.
“Cal… what are you wearing?” You exclaimed, walking up to him.
The redhead turned to You, his face full of excitement. “My love, you won’t believe it! I defeated Oggdo Bogdo and found my old poncho in his lair!” He spread his arms wide, making the dirty pink poncho flare out dramatically.
You lifted an eyebrow, surprise and a bit of worry crossing your face as You scolded him. “You went after Oggdo Bogdo? Cal, you always go out looking for trouble!”
He stepped closer, attempting to wrap You in a hug, but You backed away, your nose scrunching up. “Eww! Don’t touch me with that! Who knows how long that frog had been sitting on this poncho!”
Cal chuckled, looking down at the poncho. “Alright, fair point. But isn’t it great? I missed this old thing!”
“It’s… something,” You said diplomatically. “But the bright pink is a little clashy with your red hair.”
BD-1 emitted a series of beeps and nodded his head, clearly agreeing with You.
Cal grinned, his emerald orbs sparkling with amusement. “You too, Beedee? But hey, at least I can say I’m making bold fashion statements now!”
Tumblr media
Later that evening, You decided to wash the poncho, knowing how important it was to Cal and that now he had it back, he would most likely want to wear it often. After a thorough wash, You decided to try on the poncho yourself. It was surprisingly comfortable, and You ended up wearing it to bed. At night, as You were settling in, Cal entered the quarters and did a double take.
“Wait a minute, is that my poncho?” He asked, a grin spreading across his face.
Before You could respond, the Jedi slipped under the covers and managed to squeeze himself inside the poncho alongside You, trapping You against his muscular chest.
“Cal!” You protested, giggling as you squirmed in your warm prison. Despite the poncho fitting you both very tightly, there was something cozy about it.
“See? It’s perfect for cuddling,” he said, his voice warm and happy. You snuggled closer, feeling safe and loved as You agreed that it indeed was good for cuddling.

dagan: “so you wore gold?”
cal: *coughs* “more like brown or beige?”
dagan, absolutely horrified: “just when i thought jedi order couldn’t stoop any lower”

Headcanons for being another displaced Padawan with Cal Kestis
Cal Kestis x jedi!reader
warnings: angst, STAR WARS JEDI SURVIVOR SPOILERS
a/n:
prompt:
Tumblr media
you and cal went way back
like, jedi padawan back
so after the purge, about five years later, you guys reunited by chance. thanks to cere junda, no less
and, god, seeing someone so familiar after trying to get by on your own, someone who knew the feeling of the trajectory of your life being thrown off before you were ready, that wasn’t easy to come by
“you’re here” -cal
“i’m here” -you
“we survived” -cal
“just barely” -you
cere was delighted that the two of you could have lifted each other’s spirits so much, which was very much needed in desperate times, as you two were just given a very important mission by a former jedi master in your order
you and cal kicked some serious ass together, helping one another relearn old lessons your masters had taught during your youth
“i think running across walls was the hardest thing i was ever taught” -you
“it took me forever to get that right! i could only get two steps in before i plummeted to the floor!” -cal
you shared a lot of stories and emotions during travels, in private
and not all of them were positive, but this was the first chance you’d had in five years to face these emotions, to air out your feelings
“do you miss the clones? i was so fond of our battalion, they were always so kind to me” -you
“i think…i think that was the worst part. the people who defended us in battle, gave me pep talks before training, always there, that same face at every turn suddenly behind the blaster that was meant to put me down” -cal
“i miss them” -you
cal and you had your missions together…and separately. you’d be on one planet and he on the other, trying to race the empire and inquisitors to the holocron
“it could happen all over again” -you
“it could be the key to saving the galaxy” -cal
“or we’d be creating a generational tragedy” -you
“so would the empire” -cal
“you’ve got me there” -you
cal gifting you ponchos from his travels (lol)
“any chance you like pink?” -cal
“well…” -you
braving zeffo alone while you knew cal was somewhere far more dangerous, you had a bad feeling about it
but your teachings from the order were always the same, no attachment. mission first, feelings second…no, last
but on cal’s adventure, he found merrin, a nightsister from dathomir
you hadn’t seen any nightsisters since ventress, which did happen to make you feel a bit off
“cal…you sure?” -you
“trust me, y/n. things have changed. merrin is just like us” -cal
“cal told me much about you. another survivor. a pleasure” -merrin
you and merrin grew quite close actually
she was truly spectacular, and swapping stories with her was sort of educational
“wait…the jedi responsible for the nightsister genocide? you said lightsabers, plural? how many?” -you
“four” -merrin
“two green, two blue?” -you
“precisely. how did you know?” -merrin
“hang on, no way—” -cal
“my master killed him shortly before we were split up…when the clones turned” -you
“grevious? really? master kenobi finally got him?” -cal
“who is this ‘grevious?’” -merrin
“general grevious, he was a separatist general—a cyborg. he wasn’t a jedi, he stole lightsabers from his kills. he ordered the attack on your home” -cal
“i’m so sorry, merrin” -you
you three were still healing from many scars, but doing it together was much more achievable than trying alone
it was a wonder you even made it to fortress inquisitorius
you, cal, cere. all three of you fought like hell to save those kids.
now, cal and you, you two had much different perspectives than say, cere or trilla
displaced padawans. little guidance. cal was barely old enough to even be a padawan learner, but times were desperate and the order called upon the youngling to start quite early. you were in a similar boat. it made you two see eye to eye better than most
trilla, a padawan with much more training and insight, one who was failed by the order that she was most loyal to. failed by her own master.
cere, a devout jedi master who failed many people who were counting on her. who lost herself to a side of herself that every jedi is supposed to fight.
and just before any resolution could come of all of you together, the famed and feared darth vader showed himself
and the sinking feeling you felt before he arrived froze you
“what is it, y/n? y/n?” -cere
*ominous breathing sounds*
you shook off the feeling, fleeing instead
cal and you were split up when you swore vader made a point to hold you back
“run cal! get out of here!” -you
“y/n l/n, i was hoping i would see you” -vader “where is obi-wan?!”
“i thought you were dead” -you
“is that what he told you?” -vader
“you’re going to kill me to get back at him? i haven’t seen him since the purge, anakin! i left!” -you
“there is no anakin!” -vader “did you leave, or did he leave you?”
“are you just going to let cal get away?” -you
“he can’t get far” -vader
“my journey is not important to you” -you
“you are like me, y/n. obi-wan failed us. these inquisitors are weak, impressionable, disposable. but i know how you think. i know how he thinks. i give you the opportunity to join me. fight with me.” -vader
“i saw the holotapes, anakin. i saw what you did to the younglings and i will not let you do it again. we are not alike, obi-wan did not fail me. i took a page out of ahsoka’s book, i found my own path. and it is not beside you.” -you
“this is not over, y/n. i trust you’ll find your way out” -vader, force pushing you off a ledge
you did find you way back out and merrin was quick to save you before going back for cal
you were left completely unharmed, as well, which was quite the surprise to everyone else
“what happened back there, y/n?” -cal
“nothing i’d like to relive” -you
cal nodded and let it go, focusing on the holocron floating before you all
your mind kept replaying memories as they discussed what to do with it
memories of anakin’s massacre. vader’s speech. younglings you couldn’t save. luke and leia somewhere across the galaxy. the inquisitors.
“destroy it.” -you
in one quick swipe, cal took his lightsaber to the glowing blue cube. no questions asked
and from there on, it was no longer about the order. you remembered why you left in the first place. the purge, the politics, your master couldn’t contain himself. your troops turned their blasters on you. everything you were taught was bantha fodder. and you were just a padawan
it was now about disassembling. scaring the people in power while giving the little guy some hope.
“this is a much better gig than obi-wan playing by the rules” -you
“from what you told me, him and anakin never played by the rules” -cal
the name made you shudder, but you pushed past it
“well, anakin was known as the rulebreaker. obi-wan always tried to reel him in. but, i’ve noticed a rule or two that master kenobi had bent” -you
“anakin has a padawan too, right?” -cal
“he did. she was also a rule breaker. when she left the order, i almost followed her. last i heard, she went to mandalore with half of the 501st. i, uh—” -you
“right…” -cal
you were still haunted from the encounter on nurr. still hadn’t told cal and it was eating you up inside.
but the fighting made it feel better
dismantling, stealing, helping
and then merrin left. and cere. and greez settled down. and you and cal were just two makeshift jedi knights with your tragic pasts and your need to keep your place in the galaxy
and keep each other close
but not too close
those rules you followed, the one’s obi-wan followed, you threw them out a long time ago. the jedi order was corrupt. you examined each council master postmortem and decided that they were all flawed despite their rank. you hated them for it.
but decided the one teaching you would follow would be to lose hate, a step to the dark side.
you didn’t really even know at this point, what was the difference between right and wrong anymore
cal and you continued fighting. joined up with saw gerrera. never left each other’s sides
which…sparked feelings you’d never really been taught or told how to deal with
only aversion, really. but it wasnt like you didn’t really talk about it
“i don’t really see the problem with it. look at everything else we do, that’s not exactly the jedi way” -you
“it’s dangerous” -cal
“love is dangerous?” -you
“attachment is” -cal
“i figured you already had attachments. we were all a crew before this” -you
“i let them all go” -cal
“and you’d let me go?” -you
you began constantly questioning these ways and trying to fight for a new future with cal, without pressing too hard
but it was hard to ignore those feelings and harder to constantly be denied by your old life
and it was harder when the new crew always teased you two
“come on, kestis. if you don’t, i will” -gabs
“yeah, just go for it. who’s it hurting?” -bravo
“i’m just not ready to go there” -cal
you were more bothered than you let on
but you always put the mission first
up until your trip back to coruscant
“this is just a reminder of how little it all matters now. there’s no one left.” -you
“that’s why it matters” -cal
the intensity of this mission made it so it was just the two of you again
and maybe that would spark something…but you doubted it

Wait, What?
Relationship: Cal Kestis x f!reader
Summary: You’ve been traveling the galaxy with Merrin, taking a stop on Jedha to help Cere. She asks you to go pick up Cal and the Mantis and lead them to their location. Excited seeing each other again, old feelings are brought to light.
Word Count: 2.5k
Warnings: Fluffy, mild swearing from the author
A/N: Cuties
Prompt: "I ACCIDENTALLY TOLD YOU I LOVED YOU AND NOW WE'RE FINALLY TALKING ABOUT IT.”
(gif not mine)
————————————————————————
You take a step out of the shower. Today drained you. Cere tasked you and Merrin with pushing stormtroopers away from the front entrance of the base, but without killing anyone to lessen suspicion. Merrin used some cool space witch magic that you just had to gawk at from time to time. From teleporting troopers, to creating small, yet blinding sandstorms to push the men back. You’re job was to protect her and provide guidance. A few times you brought up the suggestion of moving rocks, making false pathways that loop them back, etc. Only twice did you have to strike down anyone, but it was nothing you couldn’t handle.
The steam from the shower had fogged up the mirror. You stare at the blurry reflection. Even though you couldn’t see your face clearly, you did notice the prominent dark circles under your eyes. Even after the steaming hot shower, your muscles still didn’t relax. Groaning, you rub your shoulder, turning to grab your freshly cleaned clothes. Standard Jedi uniform. Thank goodness for the breathability. Instead of a regular over-tunic, you placed a familiar poncho over it. Taking a deep breath into the cloth, you sigh, knowing the smell it originally held was long gone.
As you finish getting ready, a loud rapture erupts on the door.
“(Y/N), Cere needs you now.” Merrin calls through the door. You open it immediately, face to face with your friend.
“Do you know what about?” You ask, slipping on your last boot. Merrin nods, taking off at a slight jog down the hall. You follow, grabbing your light saber close to your side.
You both enter the archives, meeting Cere, who’s prime focus was one of the tablets in front of her.
“Ah, (Y/N), I must ask you of something.” Cere smiles, turning to face you two.
“Of course, what is it?” You ask, letting go of your light saber. Something about her smile seemed off, like she knew this was going to be… fun?
“I need you to collect someone from a rendezvous point. Leave at once.” Cere states, handing you a chip with coordinates. You study it from her hand before hesitantly taking it. “We have some friends coming for a visit.” You and Merrin scowl, raising your eyebrows. Merrin’s scowl is a bit harsher, not the most comfortable having to share already a small space with someone else.
“Merrin, please prepare 2-3 guest ro-“
“Cere,” You intervene, holding up your hand for her attention. “Who am I picking up?”
“Just go, young Jedi. You’ll know.” Cere shoos you away. She takes Merrin’s shoulder and leads them back down the hallway. Annoyed, you head towards the hanger to grab a speeder. From the coordinates she gave you, it was quite the journey.
Arriving at the hanger, you spot your ride. Do you remember the name? Absolutely not. This wasn’t normally your jam, big machines and what not. You enjoyed using your feet to travel, not much a speeder without a proper seatbelt nor safety precautions. You throw yourself up and head off into the desert.
—-
You don’t mind waiting, it soothes you to be alone in your thoughts. Finding a nice rock to lean against, you stare far out into the desert, watching troopers march along. Do they even know what they are fighting for? Who they’re hurting? What their future holds if they do or do not succeed? Sighing, you place your head in your hands, with your elbows rested on top of your knees. It’s be awfully hot without the wind. Taking a deep breath, you notice the wind pick up, unnaturally. You jump to your feet, peering around the rock to see a ship…
Your eyes snap open. Is that…
Stepping out of the ship is someone you most definitely recognize. The figure turns around to shout something back and a small droid appears. It runs quickly, climbing up the figure’s back. The figure steps onto the sand as the stairs fold back into the ship. It quickly takes off, most likely for a safer spot to land and hide for awhile.
You haven’t seen that face for many months. A face you would see daily. After meeting Merrin and bonding, you decided it would be safer for the two Jedi’s to split and one to escort Merrin around and teach her the ways around the Galaxy. You couldn’t be happier to assist Merrin, you grew closer; however, you couldn’t help but miss the red head daily.
The man turns towards the rock, looking at something in his hand. Most likely the coordinates, which lead to the rock you are currently hiding behind. Feeling the corners of your lips head up your face, you step out from the rock, the light now shining onto you. Geez it was hot.
He looks up, and drops whatever was in his hand. Time of course did not stop, with the sand moving and the wind blowing your hair, but damn did it feel like it. You stared at each other; one smiling like a lunatic and the other dumbfounded.
“We’ll look who it is on Jedah.” You call out, hands on your hips. He closes his mouth, shaking his head into a grin. “Let’s get a move on before the storm hits.”
“(Y/N)!” He calls out, the grin widening more and more with each step he took towards you. You match his energy, extending your arms out for a long deserved embrace. He wraps his arms around your waist, trying to not pick you up off your feet. He smushes his face into the crook of your neck, taking it all in. You giggle, your arms around his neck and head on his shoulder.
“It’s been too long, Cal.” You breath out, backing out of the hug. He laughs as BD-1 chirps for attention. “Oh I saw you too, buddy, don’t worry.” You pat the droid on his head, which beeps happily.
“Like you said, let’s get a move on.” Cal smiles, extending his bent elbow to you. Chuckling, you slide your arm through, holding onto his bicep. Together, you walk alongside the rocks, down the hill to where you parked your speeder.
“How is everyone?” You ask, trying to find his gaze. His once bright eyes suddenly gloss over, a small and quick frown coating his expression. Your smile fades as well.
“Let’s save the catching up to when we’re at base, is that okay?” He asks, patting your hand on his arm with his other hand. His eyes find yours, his filled with sorrow and weariness. You nod, looking forward.
Just as you were about to turn the corner to where you parked, you both had the sensation to stop. You could feel multiple presences beyond, not friendly presences. Looking at each other, Cal brings a finger to his lips, letting your arm go. You nod, brining your hand to your light saber in case something were to go wrong. Cal peeks around the corner. Multiple storm troopers had surrounded your speeder, taking it apart and looking at the pieces. You come up behind Cal, unsheathing your saber. He does the same, sprinting into action.
You both quickly beat the shit out of them. Cal keeps his saber out, keeping a look out as you tend to the speeder.
“Damn, they took a beating to this.” You sigh, exasperated.
“They probably wanted to make sure to trap whoever was here, you did hide it pretty well. Must have been coincidence that they found it.” Cal reassures you. Nodding, you look to the sky where you hade came from. It was filled with brown darkness. The storm was starting to catch up.
“Crap,” you breathe out. There was no way you’ll make it back to base walking. Looking around, you see a pack of spamel walking away from the storm, fleeing as well. “Come on,” You motion to Cal, jogging towards the pack. He follows closely, also eyeing up the storm.
Upon reaching the spamel, you notice one that has a few spots on its back. Smiling, you recognize this to be the spamel you saved from a few troopers just a week ago. The spamel recognizes you immediately, bending down as if it knows you need to hitch a ride. You turn to Cal, motioning for him to hop on.
He throws his leg over, bracing himself on the back of the spamel’s neck. You hop on as well. Without having time to adjust nor brace, the spamel takes off, causing you to lunge into Cal’s back, throwing your arms around his waist. You hands hold onto his toned stomach, feeling the indentations of scars he has endured. He turns around, smiling at you.
“Alright?” He asks, a small chuckle escaping his lips. The hot desert heat trickles up your neck and onto your cheeks.
“Yeah, I’m alright.” You respond, tightening your grip as the spamel picks up speed.
—-
Periodically, you’ll glance behind you, noticing the storm creeping up onto the herd.
“Cal,” You tap his shoulder. “We’re not going to make it.” He cusses to himself, looking around.
At that moment, the wind picks up, sand flying up the spamel’s legs. The herd whines in fear. Suddenly, Cal lunges forward, pointing a bit to the right.
“There!” He calls out, the wind starting to drown out some sound. The spamel seemed to understand Cal’s gesture and noticed the cave opening, big enough to fit even the tallest spamel. The heard gallops to the entrance. You tighten your grasp onto the man, hiding your face in the poncho to protect your eyes and nose from the sand being kicked up. Cal does the same with his own jacket. A few spamel’s have already made it in, and it seemed like you were the last ones. You check behind to make sure you are in fact that last set as your enter the shelter.
“Cal, help me with the rock.” You call out, jumping off the spamel. He falls off with you, following you towards the entrance. Sand and wind flow into the space, hitting and scaring the spamel. You look to see a large rock to your left. Together, you roll the stone in front of the entrance as a make-shift door. You both sigh, as Cal pats you on the back.
“Good thinking,” He smiles as BD chirps in. “Let’s see if we can get a fire going.” He hurries off as you go around to the resting spamel, checking to see if anyone had gotten hurt.
—-
You sit just as you were before earlier, in your own thoughts. The fire flickers and dances beautifully, creating a warm ambiance to the space. The spamels are fast asleep on one side of the cavern, while you and Cal stare at the fire. He sits with a leg extended out and the other folded in, where he rests his hands.
“So, what happened to the crew?” You finally pipe up. You turn to see his face, which basically glows in the firelight. His freckles decorate his features, something you were always jealous of. His eyes remind fixated on the fire.
“Greez is alright…” He trails off, not wanting to discuss anymore on the subject. You both have lost too much in this war, friends, family, innocents. You scoot closer to the man, wanting to be a positive presence to him. He looks out his peripheral to your figure nudging closer. This makes him smile, a content, warm, inviting smile. You take this as a sign to reach your hand out, asking to be held. He agrees, interlocking his fingers with yours. His hands were strong, durable, beat up, yet soft and warm. You take your hands into your lap, using your other hand to trace over each freckles. You used to do this many times on the Mantis over the years to calm him down. Your eyes stay glued to your connect the dots session, while his scan you. It’s like he’s trying to memorize you, understand you and remember you.
“I missed you too much.” He breathes out. You look up into his eyes, which are melting at the eye contact. You smile, extending your hand to his face. He practically dissolves into your touch as you rest your hand on his cheek.
“I missed you as well.” You respond, a small smile leaving your lips.
“I love when you do that,” He absentmindedly blurts, causing you to giggle. He neck, cheeks, and ears flare up immediately, realizing what he had uttered. “I mean, of course I like you touching me, not like that don’t give me that look, I love our closeness, I love you…” He continues to ramble, but your focus ceased once you heard those three words. You hand slowly falls from his blubbering face, catching his attention.
“Wait,” You whisper, making him shut his mouth. “What?” You cock your head, staring up at him.
Silence. The only noise that could be heard was from the wind outside, the snores of the spamels, the crackling of the fire.
“Cal…” You whisper, your hands retreating to your lap. His upper body begins to redden, realizing what has made you take a moment.
“Did you-“
“Okay yes, I may have accidentally told you I loved you, and I’ve felt like this for awhile but you know the Jedi code but I guess now we’re finally talking about it and what that could mean-“
You chuckle quietly, watching the red head loose his cool. This was a side you’ve never seen before, and honestly, he was quite cute. You rest a hand in his thigh, again, shutting him up.
“Let’s save the catching up to when we’re at base, is that okay?” You repeat his words to you earlier to him. With that you lean your body in closer to him. Regaining his composure, he senses your motives and quickly leans into you as well. You lips meet. At first, very much head on, wanting to be as close together as possible. Just a simple, yet long lingering kiss. You pull away, but he is not satisfied. He places on hand on your thighs, the other around your shoulder to the back of your head, bringing you back in for a longer, deeper kiss.
You both stay there, kissing you feelings away as the fire flickers down. You both don’t notice, nor really care. Your attention is on each other.
You finally pull away for a long, needed breath. He does the same. You both smile, giggling just a tad.
“I didn’t know you felt that way,” You start, sitting up straighter to look at him better. He clears his throat, fixing his collar.
“Well, you know the Jedi code.” He starts, causing you to roll your eyes.
“Cal, you both know the Jedi code is older than time itself and things change.” You giggle. “People change.”
“Well, if that’s the case,” He smiles, bringing his lips to yours once more.
You wait out the storm, falling asleep in each others embrace.

"Like Sugar" Cal Kestis x Reader
(A/N: I was wanting to write something for Star Wars Day last year, but also something fluffy. So Cal and Reader are friends, but Reader is kind of pining for this Jedi. I mean, you’ve seen him smile, right? I had been listening to “Sugar” by Sofia Carson, but currently it’s “Hey You” by Aaron Carter. So happy early Valentine's Day! Warnings: fluff Word Count: 924 words)
A coolness of the datapad contrasted against your fingertips. Something small to keep your mind on as you walked up to a closed door on the Stinger Mantis.
Cal’s room. Well, where he slept in the engine room.
You knew how he and Merrin had been out dealing with Imperials. Earlier was no different. Once dealt with, all of you took the ship out of the planetary system. Greez was talented in hiding the crew in space, a fantastic pilot. Quiet and vast.
Even so, spending hours running circles around stormtroopers could be tiring.
You, quite honestly, wanted to make Cal smile and forget about your fight against the Empire. Even for a little while. It could make a difference in his day. You hoped.
He deserved a break, mentally.
The thought to spend time with Merrin did flicker to life, but she had her own routine and knew exactly where you were headed with your datapad. Were you that predictable?
Raising a hand, you knocked.
Not long afterwards, Cal stood before the opened doorway. No poncho in sight.
“Hey.”
“Not asleep yet?” You teased inquisitively.
“No.” He smiled and reached up to push back his hair.
You revealed the datapad from behind your back. “Up for a few funny holovids?”
His eyebrows rose for a fleeting moment. A grin followed soon after. “Definitely.”
Gesturing you inside, Cal lead the way to his small cot and the both of you hopped up on it.
You had been in here time and again, as friends obviously, but that tickle of something always made you hyperaware of his proximity.
All ready having videos in mind, it took no time for you to load them up on the device.
“This one,” you informed him, “is unassuming.”
“Oh?”
You held the datapad aloft between the pair of you as you started the video.
The screen showed a homemade view, spying no doubt, of two stormtroopers on a patrol. A concept dangerous to even attempt as a civilian. Yet there it was on the holonet.
“Here we go,” you whispered.
Every thing was boring and strict as per usual. Two stormtroopers stomping their way towards the edge of some market. That was until the one of the right tripped on nothing at all, tried catching themselves on, also, nothing, and made a quick fall onto the dirt. A mess of white armor.
Snickering, you peered over to Cal.
The young man’s eyebrows were raised in surprise even as a wide grin became visible on his fair, freckled face.
“The Force works in mysterious ways, yes?” You smirked.
Cal bumped your shoulder playfully and replied, “Something like that.”
A happy jolt lightened your chest.
In honesty, you really, really liked Cal. Differently than how you felt about the rest of the crew. It was not fully romantic love, not completely, but it was wonderful.
“Okay,” you said, trying to refocus.
A couple of taps on the datapad and another holovid starring siblings filming each other secretly dancing behind stormtroopers and never being caught. Their faces blurred.
Beside you, Cal practically rolled with laughter.
Your heart soared through the cosmos hearing Cal. So joyful and free. You were a part of it rising to the surface to be shared and heard. To know he felt something other than whatever it was when he was fighting could send you into endless smiling.
“How have they never been caught?”
“Quick reflexes?” You suggested and tapped the screen again.
Shifting closer, he draped an arm over you. Successfully tucking you into his side. His hand just there in your field of vision taking up space and touching nothing. Warmth radiated from him, almost as strong as his dedication to the crew. Cal had a love for everyone on the ship. Green eyes showcasing such warmth, love, and gratefulness.
“Is there another one?” He asked, gesturing to the screen with his other hand.
“Yeah.” The words were out before your brain suggested any form of communication. You hoped he couldn’t register your quickening heartbeat.
“No embarrassing moments in this one though.”
“That’s fine.”
Mixtures of languages and movement sounded from the holovid. A busy cantina with plenty of customers. This one had a view from the far side of the establishment.
“Are you trying to show me food reviews now?” Cal joked.
Keeping quiet, you watched as a loth cat leapt across multiple tables. People shouted and plates scattered as the creature ran amok indoors. A guest offscreen mentioned how it was a droid’s fault for disturbing the cat from it’s spot by the bar. Not one person could catch the speeding loth cat.
“Greez would throw a fit if we adopted one,” Cal chuckled.
“A creature with claws, teeth, and basically did whatever they wanted? Yeah. I could imagine the lecture we’d get.”
“Short and very honest.”
“A very honest: Get that thing outta here.”
At your words, Cal grinned. Pleased to think about his crew, his family, in the most domestic setting.
Too bad it couldn’t be like that more often.
“Another one?” You asked.
“Sure.”
Cal propped his foot on the cot, his knee then just behind your datapad.
“Thank you.” Cal leaned his head back onto the wall.
“For the funnies?”
“Yeah. Thank you. I needed this.” He sighed happily.
“Glad I can help.”
Turning his head to you, even his eyes appeared to smile. Little lines forming at the corners of his eyelids. Creases that showed his contentment.
“You always do.”
Returning Cal’s smile, you added, “And I always will.”

summary: reader comforts Cal when he has self-doubts.
relationship: Cal Kestis x GN reader
warnings: slight spoilers for Jedi Fallen Order
word count: 1.6k
A/N: i tried keeping it as vague as possible so as not to spoil too much. eventually i got some things wrong because when i first wrote this i hadn’t finished the game yet and i mix up all the inquisitors anyways lol
(english is not my first language. constructive criticism and grammar corrections are very appreciated!)
— — —
“Start up the ship! I’m on my way!”
That was the last message Cal sent after you informed him that the Empire had gotten to Ilum, and they were after him. Greez, Cere and you are currently in the Mantis’ cockpit, looking out to the snowy landscape, as two Imperial Walkers appear from behind the rocky formations, shooting away from you, possibly at Cal.
Your chest tightens slightly, feeling bad for the poor Jedi; he really needed a break. He finally managed to repair his lightsaber in the caves, and now Stormtroopers are after him yet again.
After presumably fighting his way out, you finally spot him between the Walkers, running towards you, and you worry at the slight limp you immediately spot. Telling Greez to take off, you go to the ship’s ramp, which is slowly starting to retreat to close the hatch. Cal takes a Force-pushed leap onto it, losing his footing as he lands and he almost falls off, but you grab him by the arm, pulling him inside, and the door closes behind him.
Panting, Cal leans onto the round table as you shake off some snow from his clothes. He’s rambling about the Inquisitors, saying that you need to get to Dathomir as soon as possible to retrieve Cordova’s artefact from the tomb because the Second Sister is hot on his tail.
Greez assures Cal that he’s already setting course to the red planet, but you interject that before he goes anywhere, he needs rest first. Now that he calmed down a bit you can see his adrenaline is wearing off, and he grimaces in pain as he now feels every sore spot on his body.
Letting him lean onto your shoulder, you guide him to the back of the ship to sit on the edge of your shared bunk. BD hops onto the little table and beeps worriedly.
“Don’t worry, buddy,” you comfort the droid, as you take off Cal’s poncho and shirt. “He’ll feel better after some rest.”
You stand between Cal’s legs, tending to his injuries. He has a couple of blaster burns on his chest and shoulders, as well as a cut on his temple. You clean everything up and gently apply bacta gel to the wounds, as well as two thin band aids to the cut so it would heal properly.
“How’s your leg?” you ask him.
“It’s fine, not sprained or anything,” Cal says without meeting your eyes. “I just took an awkward step, is all. I’ll walk it off.”
You merely hum in response, handing him a clean shirt to put on. You stand up to put everything away, and when you’re done you catch Cal just in time as he wants to get up, but you push him back down by his good shoulder.
“Come here,” you speak softly, scooting in behind him and hugging Cal to you, so he’s sitting between your legs with his back to your chest, while you sit against the wall. You make sure not to press on any of his injuries. Finally he seems to relax a little in your hold, and you press a little kiss to his jaw.
With the Empire after you, and all these Inquisitors always sniffing him out somehow… You know Cal feels like it was defeat after defeat. You want to comfort him but you're not sure what to say except for ‘it’s gonna be okay’.
You feel Cal tracing over a relatively fresh wound on your arm with his fingers, as he looks deep in thought. Thanks to Cal, you got very few injuries yourself, this one being from when you two escaped the Wookiee’s home planet.
“This is all my fault,” Cal says suddenly.
“Huh? What is?” you question. He doesn’t answer immediately.
“When the Second Sister tapped into our comms on Kashyyyk…” he starts, and you don’t like where this is going. “If I had noticed–”
“I’m gonna stop you right there,” you interrupt him. “She played dirty. It’s no one's fault. And certainly not yours.”
“But Cere, if she had told me… I still don't know if I can trust her.”
“She did save us from Bracca, though, didn't she?” you ask rhetorically.
“… I guess.”
You take his hands in yours.
“Listen, what you need is a nap. You haven't had a break since this whole thing started,” you tell him, and BD beeps affirmatively. “See, even BD agrees! You sir, need a nap.”
“No, there’s no time to waste, I have to–”
“Go to bed is what you have to do. No ‘but’s,” you tell him, trying to sound like it’s final. “Remember what happened to Dathomir before you left? If you want to fight whoever comes your way, you need to rest and properly heal.”
“No, I–”
“Just a nap, Cal,” you insist, moving out from behind him and sitting at the edge of the bed so you can look him in the eyes. “Please. You’re exhausted.”
With you holding his face and looking at him like this, he doesn’t find it in him to fight you or the aching cries of his muscles anymore, so he finally gives in with a sigh.
“Fine. But wake me up when we get there,” he says.
“I will,” you promise, and guide him to lie back on the bed. When you want to get up, he takes your hand.
“Will you stay with me?” Cal asks in a barely audible whisper.
“Of course,” you answer just as softly.
You lie onto your back with him on top of you, his head is on your chest as you run your fingers through his hair. His breathing starts evening out, and your mind drifts off, remembering how you met on Bracca, everything you went through together, all his tales from his time as a Padawan, and your chest tightens. He’s a wonderful person, incredibly resilient, with a heart so kind despite everything, it’s rare to find these days. You also remember that he sometimes forgets these things, so you have to remind him.
“You know you're doing great Cal, right?” you ask after a while in silence, and he lifts his head to look at you.
“You'll finish Cordova’s mission,” you go on. “And everything will be fine.”
“How can you be so sure?” he asks, wanting to give in but not sure if he should yet. So much can still happen. But you just shrug with a smile.
“I just do,” you assure him. “Trust in the Force, right? I know we both do. It’ll work out.”
Being at a loss for words, Cal leans in, deciding to show his gratitude through a kiss. His lips meet yours and he’s pouring everything into it. And you understand all that he’s trying to communicate.
The kisses slowly start intensifying, and you need to scrape up a lot of self-control to push him off.
“As much as I'm enjoying this, you really need to sleep,” you remind him, slightly out of breath. Cal groans in protest against your neck, giving it a light nip.
“Besides,” you giggle. “I think we have an audience.”
Cal stops and looks up, following your gaze to the side of the bunk where BD is still on the table, looking from you to Cal and back with an inquisitive beep.
“You wanna get in here too, buddy?” you ask the droid and extend an arm, inviting him to join you. BD gives you a happy ‘beep-boop!’ and hops onto the bed.
He’s about to join the cuddle pile when he tilts his head looking at you two. Cal cups your cheek and looks at you lovingly as you smile up at him. BD takes a step back and you hear a shutter, like a picture just got taken. Now your attention is back on the droid.
“...Did BD just…?” you ask, and Cal sighs.
“You weren’t supposed to hear that,” the redhead grumbles, sending the droid a half-hearted glare.
“Does BD take pictures of us often?” you question him with a chuckle, and an adorable blush spreads on Cal’s freckled face.
“Of you,” he corrects you.
“...What?”
“For when I'm gone and… miss you. So I can look at you,” he explains, and now it’s your turn to feel the heat prickling your cheeks.
“Can I see them?” you ask after a moment.
“Hmm, nope.”
“What do you mean ‘no’? I wanna see!” you whine.
“They're my personal collection, sorry,” Cal says with a cocky grin, and you playfully roll your eyes at him and he laughs.
Then you’re left in silence again, just looking at each other. Your hand comes up to gingerly trace over the scar on his nose and you can’t help a little smile; it’s your favourite scar of his. Some may say that a scar so evident would be bad or ugly, like an imperfection, but to you it adds to Cal’s handsomeness. It reminds you that despite everything he went through, he’s still here. With you.
Compared to the boy you met all those years ago on Bracca, he had come so far. Grown so much. Become more confident and powerful.
When Cal raises a questioning brow at you, given your silence and the way you study his face, your hand comes up to the back of his neck, gently pulling him down to place a kiss on the bridge of his nose. Then you pull him back to your chest, and after a while, you can feel him finally dozing off. BD settles down next to you, and you give him a tired, thankful smile.
“I love you, Cal,” you whisper into his hair after a while. “You’re enough. And I hope one day you’ll realise that.”

I'm Headed To The Mountains
Cal Kestis x Reader Fluff
Summary: You need to rebuild your life. The Empire temporarily stunted it, but they didn't stop it.
Tumblr media
GIF NOT MINE!!
•--•
It was one of those nights again. One of those nights where everything seemed beautiful. When the stars shined a little bit brighter and you could see where the sky started to blend into the sun.
You had shuffled on a thick sweater and slipped on one of Cal's ponchos, finding your way on the Bogano grass. It was soft, healthy here. Sure, it often overflowed and was muddy, the water table rarely low. But today, the ground was hard, a sweet Bogano winter where it was never cold enough for snow but cold enough for the ground to chill and the air to dry out.
And the sun setting. Oh, that was your favorite part of the day. The part of the day that told you that you've survived another. Away from the Empire. Away from the corrupt hands of those who snatched your future from the tips of your fingers. You were barely skimming it, the day you had finally won a duel with your master. He was going soft on you--that you had understood. But you had smiled so wide at finally winning.
You realized now that maybe your fingertips hadn't even touched your future as a Jedi, and maybe your nails had grazed it. Before you started biting at them.
Now you fought for your life, the one you weren't supposed to have. Though you, you'd made one of your own. One that neither the Empire nor the Jedi Order would have allowed.
The same life that allowed Cal to sit down next to you, his leg crossing over the other and his hands planting themselves into the hardened dirt behind him.
The same life that allowed your eyes to sparkle when you turned to look at him.
"Maybe we should stay here for the winter," he spoke, head also turning. You never liked the color green too much. But Cal easily changed that for you. He made eye contact with you, and the black of his pupils shed some of the green off his irises while dilating. Maker, his pupils dilated when he saw you. And the way his hair fell into them, tickling his freckles and making his eyebrows twitch in a wince as the tips poked at his eyes momentarily.
You felt out of breath. Like you couldn't speak. Like his beauty was so intense it had snipped your vocal cords and left you a mess, left your lips parted as you stared at him.
"Why?" you asked, voice soft. But if you spoke louder, you might ruin the moment. You might scare him away or blow out the stars that were finally starting to peek through the veil of blue.
The ends of his mouth quirked, crinkling the pale skin beside them. The pink of his lips teased you and poked at your brain in the most endearing way possible.
"Well, I know you like sitting out here and watching the sun set," he pointed out, eyes never leaving yours.
This was your moment. Sure, you had these often, but they belonged to you. The way his eyes smiled belonged to you. The way his lips smiled belonged to you.
You let the silence consume you both. You had no words in return, knowing that Cal didn't mind your quiet. Maker, he wouldn't mind if you never spoke a word to him as long as you kept staring at him like he blended the colors in the sky, like he painted every star, like he set the wind into such a slow motion. He couldn't help it, the way he got so lost in you, and he never seemed to find his way out.
Some days you both were thankful for the Empire. If you weren't allowed to feel this sort of love, you wouldn't be able to handle your hardships as easy. You couldn't imagine a life that didn't allow you to take in his beautiful features like this and feel the tension seep from your body and into the dirt.
You also thanked Cere and Greez for these moments. After a while, it had become apparent that the night started to belong to the both of you. No matter how many times you both meditated and found peace in your minds, Cere could feel the the eye of the storm was found in the bond you shared.
"We could settle down."
Cal's eyes perked at your words. He didn't look any less happy with you, just... shocked. He turned his head to glance at the fading sky. The pink started the disperse into the orange, and at certain angles, the orange melted away.
You cleared your throat softly, "I mean, one day. One day we can find a planet where we can settle down. And we can watch the sunset every night."
Cal looked at you again. And it was silent, but he spoke to you. He spoke through your mind, wordless. You had a force connection, an undeniable one, but even then his words never echoed through your mind. But you knew behind his look, they way his eyes twinkled and the way his body seemed to lean into yours in the slightest.
And we can get married.

cal kestis x fem!reader pt.2
Tumblr media
It was hot, really hot. Of course, that's what you'd expect for Tatooine, but still, it wasn't entirely enjoyable. The sweltering sun was blocked by the ponchos and goggles that you and Cal wore as protection. It was quite convenient as it was not an odd sight for the locals, and they helped conceal your identities. Marching through the sand, stretching out for miles, you marveled at how brightly the sun was shining despite the early morning hours. Your hunt for a safe place to spar was going on for longer than you would've liked. You didn’t even want to be here in the first place, but Cal had grown increasingly more skilled in convincing you.
Boredom became evident as Cal looked over to find you staring at the sun, or at least you were attempting to. His eyes rolled and he lifted his arm as he brought his hand to cover your eyes.
"Don't do that, you're going to destroy your vision."
You looked over to find his eyes as Cal scolded you, only for him to try to do the same. The stinging feeling in his eyes caused him to wince immediately.
You, on the other hand, squinted at Cal upon his warning. "What else am I supposed to do?"
While you two journeyed, Cal had been suggesting this place he had seen from the Mantis. You had no idea where this was or what this place looked like, but Cal sounded excited about it so you couldn't say no.
Though nobody could miss the massive wreckage of a ship that lay half-buried in the sand. You hadn't seen it until the two of you got to the top of the next dune.
Your face displayed an incredulous expression as you finally caught sight of the ship's corpse. a large half dome-shaped piece of metal gave plenty of cool shade from the sun.
Standing atop the dune you glanced at the ginger that was standing next to you. As you locked eyes, childlike grins pulled at both of your lips.
The creases of your eyes wrinkled as you smiled.
"Loser has to trace the boundaries."
Not even a second later both you and your boyfriend were sprinting to the wreckage. Cal had the lead for a moment, but ultimately he stumbled allowing you to take the victory. Along with a lot of laughing.
You were bent over, holding your stomach, and leaning back on a spot on the ship. Completely dying of laughter.
Cal was walking towards you, having completely given up on the race. Sand covered his clothes and hair. He was also occasionally spitting out the bits of sand that managed to get into his mouth.
Because of the distance (and how quiet he was being), you could just barely hear him grumbling about it. You composed yourself enough to go over to the other Jedi.
"You think that's funny, huh?" Cal questioned before going immediately to a threat. "Say anything and I'll put sand down your poncho."
You giggled as you held your hands up in mock surrender. When you reached him you lifted your hand to his hair.
His usual style was now messy with loose strands falling in front of his face. The stunning red color was partially hidden by the tan of the sand. Giving him some help you tried to shake it out. He would have to wash up later, but that was probably already going to happen. From the harsh sun, the two of you were already sticky with sweat. Sparring would only worsen it.
Cal hummed out a small "thanks" as he shook out sand from his clothes. Once he was content with the sand mostly gone from his hair and clothes, Cal found a large pipe. Digging one end into the ground he began to trace a circular "arena" for the two of you. It wasn't entirely necessary, but it was fun to try and force someone out of the boundaries.
After a short while, Cal finished clearing out the scraps from the inside of the arena. You pushed yourself off the wall you were leaning on. The two of you met in the middle of the circle standing face to face.
"May the best Jedi win." Cal provoked, staring you down though, you weren't nearly phased.
You had done this before and had seen all the different kinds of looks Cal was capable of.
"I always do." Your reply rolled off your tongue. "Loser buys the winner food?"
The redhead nodded with a content smile, "Good thing I'm broke."
BD-1 let out a controlled beep signaling for the two of you to take your places. The routine was second nature, the set amount of paces while the two of you remained facing away from each other. The droid counted down from three and immediately your lightsabers were lit.
You dug your foot into the ground as you spun on your heel, kicking up sand as you did so. It gave you a perfect screen to get a good defensive position before you saw Cal clearing it up with the force. You used this chance to run through the window he created. No sand touched you, and Cal was currently occupied.
Your partner barely blocked your attack, his eyebrows lifted and eyes wide. You smirked at the expression, but with the clearer view of his eyes, you could see something.
It was a sparkle that you knew very well. He lit the other blade on his saber, using it as leverage to knock you off him.
The rest of the fight was incredibly balanced, both of you had grown and most of your spars ended in a draw due to time constraints. But today you didn't have that.
At least that's what you thought. Apparently, the universe had other plans.
The fight had been back and forth for about five minutes. Both of you were now dripping in sweat, but neither wanted to stop. That was until you heard a loud creaking sound coming from the wreckage. You were surprised, but Cal knew that sound all too well. Your partner let out a gasp and raced towards you along with BD-1.
A loud snap stung your ears followed by a large piece of the wreckage falling toward the three of you. Cal reacted quickly, thanking whatever Gods were out there that he practiced his force field. The wreckage bounced off it and eventually rested beside you.
You opened your eyes to see Cal protectively kneeling over you and BD-1. You and Cal were breathing heavily and when you eventually calmed down you started to speak.
"Maybe it's okay to say you win this time."
The Jedi immediately let out a laugh, letting himself fall forward. His head rested on your shoulder for a moment before he lifted back up to face you.
"I'm honored to have your blessing." His gaze was soft as he looked at you.
.
.
.
"EWWW" the expression of disgust rang around the once calm room. The culprit was your daughter who was now refusing to listen to the rest of your story.
"That's gross, Mama." Your four-year-old protested as you tried to defend it as innocent, but she clearly wasn't listening. [D/N] was absolutely done with whatever you had to say, and she wasn't afraid to voice her opinion. Very loudly at that. Which proceeded to wake, once peacefully sleeping, baby in your arms.
You rolled your eyes. Of course. Your attempt to keep [D/N] quiet during the trip to, you guessed it, Tatooine. She had very enthusiastically asked if you had ever been there, to which you began explaining some of the more entertaining events that happened during your last visit.
"It's perfectly normal, [D/N]." Despite knowing better, you tried to reason with the four-year-old. Sometimes you wished she didn't inherit the combination of her parents' sarcasm.
"No, it's gross." The little girl has your hair and eyes, her nose seemed to be a combination along with her lips and face shape. But the freckles that decorated her skin were obviously from her father. You were determined to not let them fade as Cal's had. Something your husband found adorable about you. In all honesty, he probably had a list of things hidden somewhere that you would accidentally stumble across later.
"But Amedda's Mommy and Daddy don't kiss each other every day, Mama."
Your face dropped into a deadpan as you found the immediate flaw in your daughter's argument. It seemed even her baby brother was amused by the horrible choice of defense. He shifted even in his restful nap to curl further into your chest. A few gurgles came from the baby, but nothing more after he found a comfortable spot.
"[D/N], Amedda's parents are divorced."
Silence.
A smirk curled your lips as you knew you had won. This was the point where Cal walked out of the bathroom, he casually walked over, blissfully ignorant of your conversations. It was quiet for a moment longer while Cal reached down to take [S/N] from your arms. The child, who looked like the perfect mixture of his parents with his dad's hair, cooed before slipping back into his nap in the comfort of his father's arms.
"Mama." Breaking the silence, your daughter raised a question towards you.
"Yes, baby?"
"What does divorce mean?"
Oh. That was the last thing you thought to hear from her mouth, but it was equally as unsurprising.
Cal, on the other hand, was utterly stunned. His face paled and his eyes widened. His eyebrows were knit together and the shock was almost palpable. "W-What did you say, [D/N]?"
The four-year-old quipped without missing a beat, "I said 'what does divorce mean', Daddy." The pure innocence in her voice sent you into a fit of laughter.
Hell, the whole situation made you burst out laughing, leaving your poor husband to try and piece things together.
"Why are we talking about divorce, [Y/N]?" Cal helplessly blinked at you as you were bent over trying to catch your breath. "I think I missed something."
Finally able to find the air to breathe again, you lifted yourself. Arms crossed over your abdomen which was cramping from the intense laughter.
You waved Cal down to sit next to you, to which he immediately complied. Still, quite confused. One of your hands reached up to your face, wiping one of the tears that formed from how hard you laughed. The other found its place on Cal's cheek. Pulling him closer to you as you leaned in to place a peck on his cheek.
The expression on his face almost made you erupt into another fit, but you held back. Cal leaned into the kiss, but with the confusion, he didn't fully commit.
Pulling back to face him, you finally explained to your husband what your daughter was talking about. "We were talking about Amedda's parents, dear."
The immediate relief on his face made it seem like you had just told him that Jaro Tapal came back from the dead. He shifted [S/N]'s weight to one of his arms, lifting the other to his own face. He pressed his face into his hands, trying to wash any residue of stress. At this point, he was going to have grey hair before Cere.
"That..." Cal took a deep breath before continuing, "makes sense actually."
You let out a chuckle to which Cal mimicked with one of his own. Afterwards, he leaned into your hand that still cupped his face.
"You don't actually think I would ever divorce you, do you?" You tilted your head as you asked the question. You knew Cal struggled with insecurities, everybody did, but you wanted to take any chance you could get to reassure him of your love.
"No~" Cal drew out the 'o' signalling that he wouldn't admit immediately.
You lifted an eyebrow to which he sighed.
"Maybe a little."
A soft laugh escaped your lips as you looked at your husband. [D/N] was completely distracted by her toys right now, and [S/N] was sleeping away like there was no tomorrow. It all seemed so perfect and you wondered how you ever got so lucky to live a life like this. Especially when you two really shouldn't even be alive right now.
The survivors guilt will always follow you, and often times it haunted the both of you even in your sleep. But that's why you should live. You and Cal were living for those who couldn't. For those who weren't allowed to. Many gave their lives for the chance for you to live, and you weren't going to take it for granted.
You and Cal continued to fight for the Jedi Order throughout your lives, you owed it to all the victims of Order 66. And you weren't going to let them down.
"I love you." Even now, those words made you feel like a school girl.
You smiled wide, "Show me."
Cal copied your smile while his hand found its place cupping your cheek, He slowly pulled you in, watching as your eyelashes fluttered when your eyes closed. Cal would be lying if he said he didn't still feel butterflies, even at this stage you were the most beautiful person he had ever met. Both inside and out, he truly loved you.
"Gladly."

Note
from your last reblog: idon't know why but “stop , stop !  just put the  lightsaber down !” sounds terribly funny to me.. or it could be angsty, as you can beautifully write it? or if it doesn't inspire you, don't hesitate to ignore :)
Guess what chicken butt? It did inspire me ☺️
This In Between is dedicated to @sashyburi 🖤
Ex Inquisitor Cal Kestis x Ex Jedi Reader / Nightsister Merrin / BD-1
This takes place between Chapters 9 and 10 of Stay the Black
Please be warned this entry contains very explicit language as well as implied and repeated reference to murder
Put the Lightsaber Down
Merrin sidles up wearing a very stylish poncho with a fringe of tassels hanging off the edge. “What’s all this then?” She asks, slightly oblivious.
“This fuckin guy thinks he can-“ Cal starts to rage until he sees the nightsister’s getup and is cut short by his next thought. “Did you just buy that?”
Merrin is instantly pleased when she answers “Yes! Do you like it?”
“I do like it,” Cal reaches his hand out and tests the material between two fingers. “It’s so soft,” he comments, mesmerized.
“It also has pockets,” Merrin spouts gleefully as she plunges her hands into the pockets and lifts the poncho flaps in a way that makes you think of a little bat.
“So practical,” Cal whispers in awe.
