“Don't worry so much, these are just some of my buddies,” Zack said companionably to Aeris, patting her again on the shoulder before she scurried off into the kitchen.

Eventually, she had three sweaty marines in her living room, divvying up a pizza and sipping at her lemonade and mocktails. She was right – it was an unseasonably warm day for springtime, and carrying heavy things back and forth did not feel great. There were still a few more boxes, but they were taking a pizza break, now that the pizza had arrived. Even Luxiere agreed that the mocktails were better than having a beer, and the pizza was some of the city's finest.

Aeris was around briefly, to bring everyone drinks and to ask if anyone needed anything, but she kept disappearing into the kitchen. Finally, Zack caught her wrist as she went by and pulled her back a little bit before she could escape.

“Sit with us a little while and have some pizza,” he said. “You worked hard too, you deserve it.”

“You’re joking it’s sweltering out there! Stay inside!” Aeris said as they pushed the desk into place. “I’m just.. Socially awkward I guess. We’re really doing this!” If she was being honest the last time she had a roommate it was with Tifa.

“Lucky for you I bought all the things needed for those! It’s kinda my new favorite thing,” she smiled a hopefully reassuring smile. “I’m gonna go do that!” Her stomach was still in knots but she could at least hide in the kitchen for a bit.

Aeris couldn’t help but put on her customer service smile as she made the mocktails and lemonade. She didn’t regret having Zack move in but that didn’t mean there wasn’t going to be a few adjustments.

well, she smiles a little at that. not at him, mostly at the ashes of her cigarette. maybe she likes the thought of imposing on someone else's loneliness, just a little.

Rory’s teasing words made Cain grin in tandem, a laugh following. “I think you enjoy my charm, Murphy,” he mused, his tone just as playful as hers. He kept his gaze fixated on her so he could instantly see her reaction to his offer, and whilst Rory maintained a playful tone, Cain saw the slight flushing of her cheeks and the darkening glint of lust entering her eyes as she moved closer to him. Her words illustrated what he saw, and they also prompted the smirk to grow back onto his lips. 

“I’m a man of my word, darling,” Cain began after she’d said about how he really wanted to make things up to her. When Rory followed it a moment later by telling him to do just that, Cain nodded, his eyes sparkling with delight as well as lust. Rather than say anything right away, he took a gentle hold of her hip and moved her back a few steps, walking in time with her until she was positioned against a cabinet. Cain winked but said nothing, letting action speak for him as he sank down onto his knees before her. He looked up at her and murmured, “I hope this can help…” before reaching up to start lifting the hemline of Rory’s dress, his intentions obvious even before he got to pushing her panties to one side and using his tongue on her.

rory rolled her eyes, pretending cain’s words affect her — but they did. as much as she had tried to fight it, it had been easier to surrender, to accept their fate. "and you're all charm, aren't you, morell?" she replied with a teasing smirk. he was charming, no doubt about it. it wasn’t surprising that he had gotten someone else pregnant. she couldn’t really blame the woman for falling for him, for being drawn into his orbit and ending up in his bed.

"anything is very big thing to promise someone," she shot back, though his words lingered, warming her from the inside. she knew she’d do anything for him, too — like stay, even though he was about to have a child with someone else. would it get easier when the baby was actually here, when it was something real and tangible? probably not, but she’d cross that bridge when they came to it. "there’s that anything i want thing again," she said, moving closer to him. "you really are trying to make this up to me, aren't you?" despite the weight of their situation, she kept her tone light. "i want you to show me you still want me…"

“... roy?” he was jason’s best friend, that was without question, but cassandra considered roy her friend too. it wasn’t the same one he had with jason, but she cared deeply about him all the same. it’d been a while since she had seen him, and she hardly wanted to alert jason to her concern. that wasn’t fair to roy. their lack of contact didn’t mean anything BAD ... right? she had walked in without receiving an answer which wasn’t overtly polite of her but-- well, he was probably used to it from jason. “hi?” hopefully she hadn’t interrupted anything too important.

He could hear the cogs turning as she evaluated him and his words cautiously. He sat unphased under her cool gaze, his hands lax on his thighs. Cain had undergone scrutiny under more intimidating eyes, it would take far more to have him shifting in his seat. If anything, keeping his mind in this room kept it from straying back to the horrors beyond the doors. Outside, there might as well have been nuclear war, for all its habitability. The lollypop guild and their guns... Cain could manage this. He could sit back, god knows he needed some rest, and if things got dicey... Well, he was sure it wouldn't take a lot to yank the reins in this place back on course. If it stayed the course, even better.

Her okay shattered the silence, reactively, he sat a little straighter in his seat. He jolted his chin down at his fatigues before shrugging his shoulders jovially. "I'm not new to rules and orders, alright? You'll hear no lip from me," He answered with a dishonest integrity. He would say nothing, do nothing, however? Time could only tell. It was impressive they were still alive, that was for sure, but long term? He wasn't following a bunch of kids into cannibalistic oblivion because they couldn't figure out long-term rationing, or getting a hole blown in his head because the wrong idiot in here got handed a gun they shouldn't have.

"How many of them are out there? The kids, I mean?"

When he made no move to take the gun from her she decided to finally switch the safety on and lay it across her lap. She half expected him to get up and walk out, but to her surprise he made no attempts. There was a moment of silence between the two of them, awkward, but certainly less tense than before. When he broke that silence she listened to him carefully. The corner of her mouth twitched at the quick compliment. It wasn’t that she wanted his approval, but the reassurance was nice. She’d had her doubts about how well she’d been handling things. She knew that there were other groups of survivors on campus. They’d even negotiated an alliance with the survivors in the Humanities building. What she didn’t know, what’s how well they were doing comparatively. They’d only lost a dozen or so people since they’d holed up in the Arts building, but supplies were running slow. Her system wasn’t perfect, and she’d already doubted from the beginning if she was the right choice in a leader. She mulled over his offer carefully. As much as she hated to admit it, she could use the help. A lot of the students respected her, but they weren’t afraid of her. Shiloh’s rules were strict, and it was only a matter of time before a terrified and trigger happy student got a little too angry at her enforcing them. Having someone qualified like him backing her would help exponentially. He could probably even help get the few students with guns trained up and ready. Some of them had experience, but a lot of them had never held a gun before in their lives. She wasn’t hopeful that when push came to shove they could execute the shots they needed to. Letting him stay was a risk, certainly, but it was a risk she was willing to take. “Okay,” she nodded, “I’m not going to turn down help if you’re offering it, but we’ve got rules here. If you can’t follow them, you can’t stay.”

Hazbin Hotel & Helluva Boss Rewrite Ideas #02

Hello! Hello! I've come to bring rewrite ideas for both shows once again! People seemed to like the first one and I like coming up with story ideas with and for practically everyone so here are seven more rewrite ideas for Hazbin Hotel & Helluva Boss! ______

#01.) Have Alastor's magic sigils be radio symbols over Vodou symbols as it not only makes way more sense with Alastor being the Radio Demon but to not play into a harmful stereotype about a real life religion.

#02.) On the topic of religion, don't be afraid to add a few more religious figures from the Bible or the Torah! As long as you're being mindful about the material you're pulling from, I really don't see this as much of an issue. People make their own spin on angels, demons, Jesus, and God all the time! But for once, this is where Viv gets cold feet even though she already has Adam & Eve there but not their two main children? Or the reason behind why their parents and everything else exists?? Seriously Viv??? #03.) In any case, if you do add the first two siblings then I suggest having Cain possibly work at the Hotel as some kind of repentance considering he's both the first real Sinner and for the fact that he feels guilt over killing his little brother. #04.) Alright, now for some ideas for Helluva Boss! I feel like we've all grown tired of seeing the, "Two people arranged in a loveless marriage," trope with how often it's been appearing and HB is no stranger to this trope and tries to use it as a way to rectify Stolas' affair with Blitzo.

I mentioned this in my third One Hell of an Unpopular Opinion series but if you want to stick loosely to HB's canon then you'd probably be better off with making Stella a surrogate mother as we still haven't seen her interact with Octavia and there was no real point in having Stolas marry Stella if all he needed to do was secure an heir. Besides I'm pretty sure that's what Paimon did in order to get Stolas as we see no signs that he had a mom growing up with how he was raised by a butler. On the contrary, should you wish to keep Stella as Stolas' wife, I'd recommend going the path not taken. By which I mean, have Stella and Stolas marry because, at one point, they did genuinely love each other but over the years that love dwindled and eventually faded out. Even though they'd be better off parting ways they choose to stay together as Great Horned Owls (the owl that the actual Stolas from the actual Ars Goetia seems to be based off of) and Snow Geese (I refuse to believe she's a swan especially since her brother has ice powers and lives in an ice castle) typically mate for life. From here, I'd have Octavia not be born out of the "necessity" of an heir but rather as a last ditch effort to see if their relationship can be rekindled as many couples in real life think that having a child or children will "fix" their relationship. #05.) Sorry for getting somewhat depressing with that last bit. To make up for it, write a fun chapter about I.M.P. having fun by rewriting Episode #05 of Season #01, The Harvest Moon Festival! A lot of people like The Harvest Moon Festival as it is though the majority agrees that it should've been a Millie centric episode. So have her be the reason they go to the Harvest Moon Festival over Stolas, show her competing in the Pain Games, and have her stand up for her husband due to having enough of her family constantly shit talking him. Overall, have Millie excel at being the bad ass girlboss that HB makes her out to be! #06.) Give Octavia some type of found family or friend group. Have her attend a prestigious private school (I doubt Stella will have her daughter attend a regular public high school) and have her become friends with the school's outcasts. The reason this group could be outcasts is because they actually earned their right to be there by getting good grades while most of the students are probably the offspring of Hell's high ranking officials. But seriously, this girl needs (and deserves) a support system STAT! #07.) Properly explain what it takes to get a soul into Heaven. I don't care if you explain this via The Ten Commandments, trusting that Jesus died for humanity's sins, or by using another set of rules from a different religion that isn't Christianity just be certain that your explanation is clear and concise and makes sense for what you have already pre-established for your rewrite. Don't do what the HH series did by saying, "Yeah, we don't know," because that is genuinely how you lose an audience. You can't have the ENTIRE premise of the show being about wanting Sinners to get into Heaven when HEAVEN doesn't even know what gets a soul there in the first place! ______ Well, those are all of the ideas I've got for now!
