Her heart pounds in her chest; Esme is sure it'll escape her chest cavity. She feels as if she's swallowing sandpaper. God, she hates this so much. Immortality was fine until she realised she'd have to deal with the memories that made her this way.

The woman's blurry figure somewhat comes into focus and Esme offers a fleeting smile, a hand coming to rub at the back of her neck. It has always felt odd to not wake in a cold sweat.

"Yeah, of course." Her words hold an air of exasperation to them. Becoming a therapist was a dream she achieved, but there are days like this one where she's dealing with the triggers it brings. "Sorry, just had a long day." A long life, especially felt on nights like these. "I didn't mean to disturb you."

"a woman of your stature and stellar career will always dazzle and amaze" she liked this one. she was confident but not arrogant and she knew her worth. they would go far as a formidable team. "there's worse things to have by the pool load" she joked and popped open the bottle, pouring two glasses. "some people want to spoil all the fun."

gabriela handed over a glass and made her way back to her desk chair. "i never intended to be in this line of work but as some say i have a gift. my own family is pr training enough. i work phenomenally well under pressure and i play to win, put two and two together and here i am"

"well, i'm happy to know i can still dazzle and amaze," jamie teased as she flashed gabriela a winning smile. she liked her already. even if she hadn't heard so much about her, there was something about her presence- her energy- that drew jamie in. a woman after her own heart. "no trouble at all! i have this sort of thing by the pool load. although, i'm told it's recommended i not literally fill the pool with dom again. spoil sports, honestly. i would love one."

jamie sat back in her seat, letting gabriela take the lead with popping the bottle. "you must tell me what drew you into this role, my darling."

I mean, Hocus Pocus is basically required watching for spooky season so I’d say anytime from September onwards is fair game. But hey I’m the type to binge watch christmas movies in july if the mood strikes so no judgment here. Seasonal stuff is great, but sometimes you just gotta let the vibe decide. For me it’s Home Alone every christmas. Can’t beat the classics.

What about you? Got any other seasonal faves or is it just the Sanderson sisters?

I need to know when is the appropriate time to watch Hocus Pocus? Because I love this film however it seems extremely early to be watching. Do I wait till October? What's up everyone? His jeans are torn and covered in mud, his palms are scraped raw and trails of red run lines down his arms. His lungs feel like they’re going to burst apart inside of his chest, but he keeps running. All Jamie knows is something inhuman is after him and he can’t stop, not even for a breath. 

He splashes through a creek and feels the water shuck at his clothes slowing him, but he crawls up the muddy embankment and keeps sprinting. He comes to a ridge lined with old tree trunks and rocks; there’s a clearing further down and he thinks if he can just get there he can make it. He can survive. 

But the thing catches him right when he’s letting himself feel hope. It’s like a train barreling into his back, he falls headfirst, spinning down the mossy pathway before smacking up against a tree with cracked branches that nearly impale him. 

It moves faster than a blur, his heart seizes up and his lungs feel like they’re being squeezed in a vice grip. He throws his arms up to cover his face but they quickly fall when he feels himself being lifted by his neck off the ground. There’s a gurgling noise in the back of his throat as he tries to inhale, watching rows of knifelike teeth inch closer and closer. He’s desperately trying to pry their fingers loose, but nothings working.

"Two iced coffees coming up." Erin announced, placing both cups down on the table. "You know, I saw a woman inside order an actual latte? What kind of insane person drinks hot coffee in this heat?"

"Yeah, I get that. I mean, I'm not the oldest, but looking out for younger siblings, especially Max,that I understand." Erin replied with a nod. Although their circumstances were very different, she could relate to what Jamie was saying. Erin never tended to put herself first either. "Okay. Easy." She gave a quick nod. "Just say the word and I'll apparate to your door with some coffee and cakes."

Jamie shrugged, "I don't know, at first I didn't say anything to my family because Juliet was going through a hard time and my parents were worried about her, and I'm supposed to be the older brother, y'know? I know it sounds so dumb, but I've always had a hard time putting myself first, when my parents expect other things from me, or at least it feels like they do. Then, it just got hard to like mention and say anything when I didn't for so long," he replied. "Honestly, this is probably good for me, just getting out a little bit. I guess it's more so understnading that some days, if I cancel or something, it might be easier to meet at my place instead."

she adored seeing jamie's successes, it brought her such overwhelming happiness to see her godmother thriving. jamie was her godmother but she was more of a mother to her than lily had ever been to her. "you're already immortal with that phenomenal skin of yours, now you get to live the best vampire life"

serena nodded in agreement "always a must. how else will we stay entertained? the hamptons is only a pit stop in the summer, i'm not going to spend my summer laying around doing nothing all day." she rarely got time off from brown, she was going to enjoy it when she did "oh how was seoul?! i've not been in so long, i miss it. is the shopping still as good as it used to be?" she asked, thinking that she'd need to take a trip out soon. serena laughed at the mention of johnny "he really did put his foot in it. maybe he should give nate cousin gabriela a call for a crisis management lawyer"

"it wasn't ideal but as you always told me absence makes the heart grow fonder" serena felt the heat rise to her cheeks at her aunts observation "you do? that means a lot to me. you know i value your opinion more than my own mothers"

"and don't i love to hear it!" jamie added with an equally as beaming smile. it was a joy to see her darling serena happy-- shining brighter than the sun, in fact. she felt much the same as their champagne glasses 'clinked!'. "to me and this exciting adventure into the world of the supernatural! i'm ready to be embraced, fangs and all. and to you too, my love. long may you sparkle."

jamie watched her intently, sipping her champagne with ease. she nodded- mmm'ing and aah'ing- as she spoke. "excellent! a busy social calendar is a must, isn't it? i think i'd start to rust if i wasn't rushed off my feet. oh, here and there-- we had a fabulous month in bali, then there was simply the best party i've been to in forever in seoul. oh! i had an appearance in reykjavik, that was exciting. i, of course, had to drop by the hole that our johnny's dug himself into to confirm he was coming back for the big reunion. AH, i'm so excited for this show!" she poorly suppressed a squeal before smiling very fondly.

"that must have been the worst, a whole month apart! i can tell, you're practically glowing. you're hearing it here first--- i approve."
