If I was writing the 60 special of General Hospital
I just finished watching the 60 special, and it was great, but it could have been amazing. Here is what I would do:
I would have asked for it to be more than 60 minutes. Ninety minutes would have worked.
For the host and moving it along. It was a choice to make it LW. You should have done beloved fan favourites. I would have done the following:
Becky and Kelly or Genie and Jane or Tabyana and Nicholas. Those would be how to make most of the fanbase happy.
I would cut down on the guest people and Stephen A. Smith. You could have done a small two minutes on some of the most famous people. John Stamos was an excellent choice to do that part.
The part of the dancing should have been Kelly and Finola talking about guest and cast performances.
More old clips and talking about families such as the Hardy-Webber, Quartermaine, Cassadine, and Spencer.
Here's how I would have done it. (I love the energy Kelly and Becky have in scenes together, so that I would have them)
Becky and Kelly are getting ready for the show, and both are in their most iconic or favourite outfits. (Becky could be in one of her wedding dresses or nurse ball dress, and Kelly could be too.)
Becky starts it off with the Hardy-Webber family and how Dr. Steve Hardy started the show, and you get clips of the family members and the first clip of the first episode. Then Kelly added that it began as a hospital show, but it grew into more, and then we get more clips of the Cassadine-Jermoe families and the cops and others.
But I would have Kristen Storms jump in and talk about the fantastic guest stars and famous people they had on, such as Elizabeth’s father, Richard Dean Anderson and John Stamos. That was when I would have John Stamos talk about getting the role and the other famous faces. Clips of Richard Dean Anderson, John Stamos, Demi Moore, Ricky Martin, Meghan Markle, Jonathan Jackson, Nathan Parsons, Rick Springfield, and lastly, Amber Tamblyn, who introduces the Quartermaine where she meets up with Wally, Rene, Jane, and Lisa at the Qs where they say a line if these walls could talk. This could lead to wedding dresses, with Lynn wearing her famous wedding dress.
Becky, Lynn, Brook, and Kristina are wearing their iconic wedding dresses with others such as Nancy, Laura W, and Katelyn in theirs. I would still have the same clips but with Brook talking about the first interracial wedding in the daytime. And showing iconic wedding clips such as Tom Hardy’s wedding, Steve and Audrey’s wedding, Drew and Sam’s wedding, Tiffany and Sean’s wedding, Laura and Kevin’s wedding, Scott and Laura’s wedding, Luke and Laura’s wedding, Monica and Alan’s wedding, Robert and Anna’s wedding, and one of Sonny and Carly’s wedding. And I would have Cynthia in one of her wedding dresses from Valentin and her wedding about almost weddings with clips such as Kate and Sonny’s wedding, Drew and Elizabeth’s wedding, Valentin and Nina’s wedding, and Patrick and Sabrina’s wedding.
Here is where I would have Genie host a segment on the Cassadine and Spencers as her wedding clip to Luke finishes with Helena's curse, and we have flashbacks to the war between the families and how other families get involved. I would have Nicholas C join her with Hudson, and they joke about what comes next for the Cassadine-Webber-Spencers war.
Tristan joins them and jokes with Hudson that their character has something in common, such as coming back from death, and they have clips of characters who have done that. This is where I would have the Steve B announcement, but I would have Hudson and Asher, Jason’s sons, to make the announcement.
The next segment I would do is about parties and events in PC that never go well with Dominic and Josh. The part of the dancing should have been Kelly and Finola talking about guest and cast performances at the Nurses Ball. Donnell joins them, and talks about those making good Emmy reels, and they talk about General Hospital wins at the Emmys.
Maurice, Laura, and Jon talk about iconic storylines about serious topics, and they show clips which I would like to lead into a clip of an upcoming storyline about Adam’s storyline.
Rick and Kin talks about all of the ones the shows have lost in real life with clips, and I want them to include Billy Miller in this one. I would have Jane and Genie join them with Kristina, Tristan, and Finola as we have them honour long-standing characters.
Becky and Kelly return and have a segment about fans' favourite storylines where they ask fans.
Tanisha and Jon talk about babies, how we watch characters have kids and how it is always so dramatic. We have clips of all the main cast who give birth on the show of their most dramatic, such as Elizabeth with Jake and Aiden, Sam with Danny and Scout, Maxie with Georgie, James and Bailey, Alexis with Kristina and Molly, Carly with Michael, Morgan, and Josslyn, Robin with Emma, Felicia with Georgie and Maxie, Monica with AJ, Lucy with Serena, Sabrina with Gabriel, Olivia with Leo, and Britt with Rocco.
I still have Cynthia and Maura do the bloopers and the ending of the special because that was done well. And the end of the whole thing should be a clip of the upcoming Bobbie’s episode.

“TEAPOTS DELIVERED NOT ORANGE PEKOE,” Toronto Star. April 14, 1921. Page 30. ---- New Brand of Tea That Costs $1,503 for Two Potfuls. ---- The charge of receiving, which has been pending against Daniel Danielson since the arrest of Arthur Conley, Jack Conley, Roy Hotrum and William McFadden, the last two of whom are awaiting trial for murder in connection with the death of the late L. C. Sabine, Harbord street druggist, was this morning withdrawn in the police court at the request of Crown Attorney Hughes. Crown Attorney Hughes intimated that there was no incriminating evidence against Mr. Danielson, and for that reason requested to have the charge withdrawn. Accused was defended by W. K. Murphy.
A Weak Heart. Alan B. Carr suffers from spasmodic weakness of the heart. His doctor testified to this, adding that Carr occasionally sought relief from the rosy fluid.
Two constables declared that, Mr. Carr swerved from one side of the street to the other with his automobile in the early hours of a recent morning. Col. Denison did not consider a weak heart sufficient excuse for endangering the lives of pedestrians, and fixed seven days as the period of Mr. Carr's restup at the jail farm.
Mr. Carr formally announced his intention to appeal against the sentence, and was allowed out on $1,000 bail.
Lots of Cash. Walter McDowell and Richard McDowell promptly admitted having a couple of quaffs from a bottle of sparkling muff at a garage.
Hardly had the bench announced the option of paying $100 and costs each, or of going to the jail farm for one month, when the two young gentlemen buried over to the clerk and counted out the required amounts from wads that would have made any hold-up expert turn green with envy.
Back Again. Dwain Wager, who escaped from Burwash prison in August, 1918, after having been sentenced three months previously for theft at Trenton, was this morning sent back to that institution for one month. His original sentence was indeterminate and after one month the authorities there will keep him as much longer as they see fit.
After Wager's escape from Burwash he went to the United States, where he got into trouble on another theft charge, and was imprisoned for two years and six months. At the expiration of this term he was deported here.
Charles H. Augustus admitted having liquor in an illegal place, and paid $200 and costs for the privilege.
Hootch in Tea Pots. What a tale could be told by two ordinary enamel tea pots that were set on the court table this morning. According to evidence of two officers of the provincial license department these domestic articles were used by Harry Morton to dispense hootch instead of tea or coffee.
Dr. Forbes Godfrey, M.P.P., defending Morton, enquired of Inspector Smith if "operators" were respectable members of society. Dr. Godfrey apparently doubted the veracity of the operators who alleged they purchased several drinks from Morton.
They are of the highest character," replied the inspector.
Dr. Godfrey remarked upon the divergent views held by Mr. Smith and Professor Leacock, the latter of whom he credited with saying that the man who breaks the O. T. A. is superior to those who enforce it.
Col. Denison affirmed that he cared little for the abstract opinions of professors, and gave Morton a ticket to the jail farm for three months plus sixty days, with the privilege of purchasing freedom with $1,500 and costs.
When P.C. Wright requested a dapper young gentleman to keep moving" on Royce avenue, he fell into such a hot time that he had difficulty in recognising his own face in the mirror next morning.
James Harwood, and Alfred Hamilton. charged with being the principals in the offensive, were fined $16 and costs each.
Percy Webber was fined $200 and costs or three months for B.O.T.A.

Grey’s Anatomy 15x25 Final Thoughts
From what I’ve been reading on here already, most people weren’t a huge fan of this ep. However, I disagree–partly. It was a solid episode, but you guys are right, it didn’t quite feel like a season finale. Let’s get started.
The opening was amazing. I usually don’t notice things like this, but the music background coupled with the montage was a stroke of genius on the director’s/writer’s part. Wow.
Also, another thing I never thought I’d notice enough to praise, but Levi’s voice is really good. And it did calm down Frances, which says something. but I definitely wasn’t a fan of levi calling Frances annoying, and how he’s not getting yelled at for what he did last week.
I guess vocal ability is inversely proportional to how much a character got screwed over this week, because Koracick’s little bit wasn’t exactly on tune, but he deserves so, so much more than what he got at the end of this episode, wtf. Owen’s “confession” was ill-timed (like everything concerning him this season, apparently) and I think he’s rushing into it. Plus, he’s been so all-over-the-place all season, the worst thing he should do right now is get into another relationship. The biggest thing that bothered me about Towen admitting their love for each other, though, is the ending scene of Koracick happily putting together the nursery, unaware of what’s happening in the Hospital. I can’t believe no one told him Teddy was in labor! And he clearly cares for and loves Teddy (a lot more than she loves him). He deserves better.
Also, “geriatric patient?” lmao. It’s about time Grey’s acknowledged how old these characters actually are. (and has carina not learned from when Arizona told her “you have to be choosy about when you bust that out”? seriously we need AZ back).
That being said, I’m loving this Amelia and Teddy interaction. I do hope they’ll be friends and lean on each other more each season, especially now that jealousy is (almost) completely out of the way. However, Teddy dumping Koracick, Amelia’s old friend, might put a damper in things. I do hope not.
Speaking of Amelia, I’m one of the few people who didn’t read much into her saying she had a crush on Carina. We know she’s been attracted to women in the past, so all this scene does (for me) is reinforce that. That’s not saying that she isn’t bi, or somewhere on the LGBT spectrum, but it doesn’t really count as her coming-out moment, in my opinion.
Amelia did a very big, very mature thing today. The one and only thing that I had against the Amelink pairing was that I was afraid she was using him as a rebound and it will end in pain for both of them. I’m very glad that, instead of fighting about it, she was honest and let him know exactly what she needed. I see only good things in their future.
Link and Jo’s conversation today was interesting. We didn’t see as much of them together this season as I would have liked, but seeing Jo relax around him like she only ever does around Alex, Stephanie, and maybe Meredith really highlights how close these two are. I hope we see more of them and get more of their backstory next year.
In terms of Jo’s situation, this episode was definitely less heavy than the previous few. Jo and francés were so good together. They were helping and learning from each other inadvertently, so even though Jo working in her condition would never fly irl, I am glad she got the chance to listen to Frances.
I’m very glad that they reinforced time and time again that Jo isn’t 100% okay yet. Her arc with Paul was excellent, don’t get me wrong, but I do feel it resolved too quickly and neatly, and I’m happy they’re not doing that this time.
Jo and Alex are very sweet together. Their final scene not only highlights how far Jo as come, but also Alex – in the past, he would have blown up a long time ago, but he was patient and understanding and honestly, if they get through this, they can get through anything.
On the whole Insurance Thing, I’m sensing a repeat of season 13, where Richard/Catherine/Bailey/Meredith are all at war with each other. At least this time, it’s Catherine and Bailey who are in the right over this (although, no one was really doing anything wrong at all, either). I loved the throwback to the LVAD Situation from Season 2(?), and I’m glad they referenced it and also gave Meredith and Alex some actual consequences for their actions, although, of all the things they’ve done, this is the one that they deserve the least punishment for, imo.
In terms of Jaggie, they started and ended this season with a fight. Make of that what you will.
Thank god no one died this week. Although crazy injuries and/or deaths are kind of a trademark of a grey’s finale, I was too attached to all of these patients. I’m glad they’re okay.
Lastly, the ending music and montage were excellent, like the beginning sequence. I don’t know what it was this week, but it was really well put-together.
Until next time <3

Grey's anatomy is a show full of incredibly talented surgeons but who are some of the most toxic, lying, cheating, egotistical and self-centered TV characters, but somehow the Grey's fandom only seems to have a problem with it when these character traits are associated to non-white characters.
Exhibit A: For several seasons Maggie has received hit for being annoying and and some fans were saying they wanted her gone.... But do you know which character is ten times more annoying than Maggie? Our beloved Amelia Shepherd. You know who's also annoying sometimes? Teddy Altman. But I've never seen calls to have Amelia and Teddy's characters leave the show.
Exhibit B: Everyone complaining about Richard's behavior lately because of the Webber method... While I agree we haven't shown the best of him in the last episodes, the storyline involving his character was still interesting. But I see post about wanting to see him leave, because he's too self-centered etc,... If you have managed to find love for Derek Shepherd at some point in the show, you don't get to think a character should leave for being too self-centered. Richard isn't the first Grey's character to behave this way and he won't be the last.
Is the criticism towards Richard's character justified? Yes, absolutely. Are some of the reaction over the top and an overreaction to what we actually see on screen? Also yes.
Exhibit C: Levi, my sweet sweet Levi... I feel for him and want him to get better soon. But the fandom??? I can't deal with them. I remember when Nico (his boyfriend) accidentally killed a patient and being in a dark place.... How did the fandom react?
"OH poor Levi, his boyfriend lashed out at him" then they completely managed to demonize Nico and obliterate the fact that he was going through one of the most difficult periods of his life.
And now that the roles are reversed and Levi is going through the same exact thing because be accidentally killed a patient. How did the fandom react?
"OH poor Levi, he's in a dark place he's going through something"
How come the fandom sees it for Levi but not for Nico?
I guess I wouldn't react so strongly if I hadn't witnessed half the fandom go at Nico a few years ago and trying to demonize him for a behavior that was not surprising but also understandable after losing a patient. Even some Nico fans blamed the show for showing his character in a bad light or demonizing him... But the show didn't do that... The show portrayed Nico's character as they would have done for any other Grey's character. It's just that this Fandom doesn't know how to react when it comes to characters who are not White.
Grey's characters aren't perfect, they're not supposed to be, they are flawed but they also have redeeming qualities and that is why the show is so entertaining.
I love all Grey's characters but the double standards in the fandom makes me want to scream.
I don't understand.... They're all the worst... That's why we love them right?

Which character from Grey's Anatomy would you bring to your world to be Casey/Kaycee's bestie?
OMG, this is so funny. I need to pull in my Grey's buddy, @icecoffee90, for her opinion, we endure the show together.
Truth be told, 99% of the characters annoy the living crap out of me. And while I think Christina Yang is God tier, I don't think she and Casey/Kaycee would mesh. So, let's see...
Miranda Bailey - I adore Bailey so much. I love her no-nonsense, cut through the bullshit and tell the truth - often comically - attitude, and I think Casey/Kaycee would appreciate that too. C/K's cheeriness would have likely irritated Bailey at first, but in time the women would see each other's softer/stronger sides, and they could form a lasting bond.
Richard Webber - I think he would have a Naveen vibe for her, but he would be hers and hers alone, nothing that she had to share with Ethan. While C/K has a wonderful Dad, and they have a good relationship, David doesn't understand medicine, and this would be a great medical Dad.
Last but certainly not least...
3. Jackson Avery - BRUH. How much fun would that be? In E/K world, Ethan would be so irritated (even though Jackson is the consummate gentleman) because he looks so much like Tobias (which Kaycee would say she just cannot see.) In C/T world, it would be even more delicious. I'd make him Casey's former med school boyfriend; they adored each other but realized they were best as friends. Though T is never jealous, this would drive him crazy - because he IS Tobias, and the only one that can be competition for Tobias... is Tobias. lol It could be fun.
Thanks for the ask Nonny!

Grey’s S15
So... I pranked myself like I always do, and I decided to do a mini grey’s rewatch of seasons 12-15. To be completely honest, I didn’t watch season 13 or 14 entirely, and I wanted to understand this past season better. (I lowkey also wanted to see Deluca’s character development b/c I want to understand the man that Mer just said ‘I love you’ to). So here is a review of Grey’s S15, what I hope to see in S16, a rant on some comments I have seen on the internet about. I just need to let my thoughts out.
First of all, I am a big Grey’s Anatomy fan. Although I roll my eyes every time I say it's been running this long, this show has a special place in my heart. I started watching the show during my formative years, Cristina Yang basically raised my teenage self. I started in middle school, and now we are here, a year away from graduating my undergrad at UofT. I don’t want to discredit the amazing women that raised me, but I also don’t want to not mention Shondaland and its influence on who I am today. Overall, Grey’s is kind of like my bible, I rewatch it every time I need to feel comfortable, validated, and reasonable. Its storytelling has allowed me to understand so many things, such as addiction (s/o to Private Practice and Amelia Shepherd), family issues, loyalty, love, empowerment. Its most important lesson is that life goes on. No matter how hard it gets, it just keeps going, and that's the beauty of it. We all can take whatever it throws at us, and come on the other side, stronger and wiser. I hate it when people say that they miss the old Grey's, that they miss Derek or Cristina. It’s all very valid, I miss them too. However, that is life, people die, people move across the globe, and you just have to deal with that and move forward.
I really enjoyed this season because of its attention to detail. I know this sounds very odd, but, after watching S12, 13, and 14, I feel that this season was packed with references. It mostly stayed true to the characters' storylines and amended some plot holes from previous seasons. I love that the Mer-Tatcher storyline had a conclusion, I always wondered what happened to him after Lexie died. I also enjoyed meeting Alex’s mom, she is honestly a sweetheart. Benley’s story was so exciting, I am never concerned about them because they are perfect, but it is good to see them going through hard times. They brought back Teddy, which allowed Owen’s character to move forward. I loved that they gave Amelia a chance, we got a better explanation of why her family was not there, and her story became full-circle. There is more reference to the Mer’s kids, making us remember that she is a mom LOL. Finally, although he is a more recent character, I love Schmidt so much. He cracks me up, and his story is so underrated.
In this part, I will focus more on my favorite characters of the show and what I liked about them this season:
Meredith: I have to admit, I always thought I was Cristina Yang, but the more I reflect on this, the more I realize that I am more of a Meredith Grey. I am so proud of how far she has come, professionally and emotionally. She is a warrior. I love how happy she is this season. It's partly because of her new relationship, but also she is very stable now, with her kids, her award, her friendships. She is always working really hard to be a better person, and it takes a courageous person to admit that you need to improve and actually doing the work to be better. She understands her past and moves forward, motivating the people that love her the most to do the same thing. She has changed, for good. And, people may say that she is not the Meredith Grey she was in season 1, and I say that this is a good thing. She has grown up and learned from her mistakes (some of them, she was still afraid of I love you’s and committed insurance fraud, but some things don’t change lol). Cece was such a central character for her storyline, I loved how she allowed her to believe in herself and in life-after-love (yes, this is a Cher reference), which is why Merluca is a thing now. I high-key believe that Cece intentionally created the Link-Andrew-Meredith love triangle for Deluca to step up his game and show her how much she wants to be with her. After all, Cece was there when they talked about the kiss, she saw something, and finessed her way into making it a reality. I can’t help but smile at the fact that Mer is smiling like a teenager again, it fills my heart. I too loved Derek, but he died. That happens, it sucks. But, Mer has every right to move on and fall in love again. She deserves finding love again.
Alex: Alex as chief was my favorite thing this season. I love how he just got the job randomly, but this job allowed him to prove himself what he is capable of. Don’t get me wrong, I love Bailey as chief, but we all knew that she was going to be a great chief someday. I always root for the underdog, and in this particular situation, he was the underdog. My favorite part is when Bailey and Weber realized how good he was at the job because he understands that delegating is a thing (lol). I liked meeting his mom, that storyline just re-states how pure he is. I love how he doesn’t realize that Merluca is a thing, he is just completely oblivious. It broke my heart to see him freaking out about Jo because it made me realize how much Izzie scared him. He is the Most Improved Character of the show. Period.
Amelia: I love Amelia so much. She is often very misunderstood by some fans, but you all need to watch private practice to understand her better. I liked this season because it made justice to her and her journey. We learned a bit more about Christopher. We saw her being a mom with both Betty and Leo. We saw her helping Betty through her addiction. We saw her standing up for herself and end a relationship that had become very toxic. We saw her talk to her family and, more importantly, talk to her mom. We saw her rise above her love for Owen and let him be happy with Teddy. She has grown so much and this season allowed her to do that, which I am very grateful for. After rewatching S15, I now am a full Amelink stan. I love how they start their first significant interaction with Link word-vomiting his feeling about the overdose wave. He talks a lot, just like her, and he is willing to listen to her talking. One reason why Omelia didn’t work out was that Owen didn’t talk and Amelia felt that she shouldn’t talk either, leading to significant miscommunications. I also love that Link understands addiction a bit better than Owen, which is already a sign that this relationship has potential. I loved Omelia, they had a very awkward, sometimes funny, sometimes dark relationship and helped each other in very dark moments. They did love each other, in their own twisty way. However, I think that it kind of became an addiction for them to be together despite all the red flags, which is not healthy.
Jackson: I love Jackson, he has such a big heart. Kind of salty about Japril not being endgame, but we gotta move on. I loved how supportive he was with Catherine during the tumor surgery, their chemistry is so good. Like. It’s hard for me to believe that they are not actually mother and son. I love that he is a high-key Merluca shipper and how much he respects Richard Webber. I hope he doesn't die.
Deluca: OK... so I just going to say that I want him to be in peds so bad, he is the SOFTEST character atm, I am in love. He has also grown this season. I think its partly because the writers want us to believe he has now that he is dating THE Meredith Grey, but we stan this evolution. People always complain about how he didn’t want to date Maggie b/c she was his boss, and I would like to disagree with that to an extent. Yeah... the problem was that she was his boss, but the main issue was because he was afraid of the favoring situation, meaning that he didn’t love Maggie because was not willing to put up with what others would think about them. Sigh. Anyways... I enjoy how much depth his character is getting, learning about his family was important because we now understand the difficulties he has faced. He has shown that he is no longer an intern. I cringe every time people try to invalidate his character by pointing out how immature he was. No one on Grey’s is their intern self. Look at Alex, Mer, Bailey, SCHMIDT... everyone has grown out of their intern mistakes, so why should we just bring up Andrew’s to justify why Merluca shouldn’t be a thing? (and so what if he is not as mature as Mer? Mer wasn’t as “mature” as Derek, and no one batted an eye... double standards am I right?). The being beaten up by Alex storyline really shook him. He did say some irrational things, but how are you supposed to be 100% rational when you went through a very untenable situation? He deserves the benefit of the doubt and a second chance. Don’t tell me you all have never said impulsive things or had inappropriate crushes. Smh.
What I want to see in S16
Meredith in jail and her village supporting her.
Jo and Alex dealing with Jo’s depression in a compassionate and empowering way.
Teddy and Owen being parents and being in love.
I want a Towen wedding, just because I want everyone to look pretty AF.
Owen and Amelia being good friends. As much as I think Omelia is no longer a viable love relationship, I really like their chemistry, and I would like to see them becoming good friends.
Merluca being domestic with the kids and talking about their past. I want Mer to tell him about her losses, her feelings, her fears. I want them to talk about the age difference in a positive way. I honestly don’t see Mer getting pregnant, but like I always think about Ben and Bailey and how Ben just became Tuck’s dad and he loves him like his own son. I can see Andrew loving Mer’s kids in that way.
Andrew choosing peds and Alex mentoring him, just like Arizona. Team Peds 2.0?
I want to see Carina more, more insight into her character. She is always someone’s lover or just Andrew’s sister, but we don’t get to see her by herself.
Andrew just dealing with the sister trifecta. I want funny, light, comic relief interactions.
Knowing where the fuck Jackson is. I am ready to see him go, but I am also not prepared to see him go.

Come Back to Me: Chapter One
Set in the Sound of Silence episode. I wrote this a while back, so hopefully someone enjoys 😊
It was the middle of the night and she was being woken by her phone ringing. Cristina slowly rolled over in her bed to grab her phone. When she looked at the caller id she quickly became irritated. Answering her phone with a snarky remark, she was quickly toned down by the voice of the person on the other end.
"Evil Spawn, do you have any idea…" she was unable to finish her sentence before Alex interrupted her.
"Cristina…" she could tell just by the sound of his voice that this was not a good call. Something was wrong.
"Alex, what is it? What's wrong?" he didn't respond quickly enough for her liking and she became even more worried.
"Alex, please. What happened?"
"It's Meredith…" deep down Cristina already knew it was Meredith. It was always Meredith. Whenever she got a call in the middle of the night from Seattle, it was always bad. Seattle Grace Mercy Death strikes again she thinks. Her mind instantly flashes back to the last time she got a call from Seattle in the middle of the night.
She had been in surgery all day and was so happy to be able to go home and get a good night sleep. She had been asleep for what seemed like minutes when she was woken by the sound of her phone ringing. She cursed whoever it was and reached to her nightstand to see who was calling at this awful hour. When she looked at the name on the phone, her heart began to race.
"Owen?" She hadn't heard from Owen in months, except for a few emails back and forth. Neither of them could bear to pick up the phone to call each other.
"I'm sorry to call so late, I know it's the middle of the night there, but umm…" Owen's inability to get to the point was worrying her.
"Owen, what is it? Are you ok" She could hear him breathing heavily on the other end of the phone. His voice was shaking.
"I'm fine. It's Meredith..." Cristina's heart sunk. She left her person. She was supposed to be ok. She needed her alive. Alex was supposed to watch out for her.
"What happened?" The urgency in Cristina's voice grew stronger as the conversation continued slowly.
"Owen…"
"Derek is dead." Cristina steadied herself on the corner of her bed as she processed what Owen was telling her. She wasn't even sure if she had heard him correctly.
"I'm sorry, what did you say?" Cristina heard Owen sigh heavily on the other end of the phone.
"Derek is dead. There was an MVC last night. He was struck by a semi." Cristina knew by the pain in Owen's voice that this was real. She was not dreaming. Seattle Grace Mercy Death has taken so much from them already; she didn't think it was possible to lose anymore.
"Owen, I... I…Meredith?" She couldn't even compose her own thoughts. She could feel the tears forming in her eyes. She was lost for words. They survived so much, they were supposed to live forever.
"Meredith…she is, umm, honestly Cristina, she's destroyed. Devastated." Tears now streamed down her face. Tears for her person, her best friend. Her family. Not even realizing what she was doing Cristina had walked to the closet for her suitcase.
"Owen, I…I don't know what to say?" Owen could tell by the way Cristina was talking that she was crying. Even though they grew apart, he still knew her.
"Cristina, I think you should come. Meredith needs you."
"I'll be on the next flight out."
Cristina quickly came out of the trance she was in when she heard her name being called on the other end of the phone.
"Cristina…Cristina, are you there?"
"Alex, is Meredith dead?" She could hear Alex sigh heavily on the phone and his voice begin to shake.
"Oh my god, Alex. She's dead?" Her world started spinning. Tears flowed from her eyes almost instantly. Not again she thought. She couldn't lose anyone else. She couldn't take anymore. She didn't have any more goodbyes in her.
"No Cristina, she's not dead, but…" There was always a but. The but was always the scariest part.
"But what Alex? Just tell me."
"She was attacked by a patient. She's alive, but she's not doing very well. She's got so many injuries. I couldn't, I couldn't watch anymore. She has to stay alive, Cristina, I need her. I can't do this without her." Cristina could tell he was crying. The Alex she knew would never openly cry like that so she knew it must be bad.
"Alex, don't do this. You need to be with her. You are her person now and she needs you. Meredith is strong, but she needs you. Alex, I'm coming. I will be there as soon as I can, but until then you do not leave her side. Do you hear me?" She heard him take a deep breath and assumed he was trying to compose himself before responding.
"I won't leave her, but please, get here soon."
"I'll be on the next flight out, and Alex…" she could tell he hesitated before responding.
"Yeah?"
"She better be alive when I get there."
Before she knew it the flight had taken off. It had only been a few hours since Alex had called, but it seemed like it had been forever. This had only been the second time she'd taken this flight since she left Seattle, and honestly it was becoming the flight she never wanted to take. She thought about all the times she had wanted to get on a plane and go to Seattle, go home, but she just couldn't. She had so many memories there, she found her family there, the love of her life there, her passion. Seattle had given her so much, but it had also taken so much. She was sat on the plane, heading 8,000 miles to Seattle, hoping that it hadn't taken the most important thing.
When the plane landed, Cristina felt a sense of relief flood her body. The kind of relief you would feel after being in a plane crash and the plane you were in now safely landed on the runway of the airport. She got off the plane as quickly as she could, not wanting to waste any time getting to Meredith. She picked up her bags and was going to hop in a cab over to the hospital, when her eyes met with a familiar face.
"Dr. Yang, it's good to see you, even under these circumstances."
"Wilson, I didn't know anyone was coming. I could have taken a cab."
"Alex wanted someone to be here to get you. Dr. Hunt was going to come, but he got pulled into a surgery." Cristina smiled at the gesture and thanked Jo for picking her up.
The car ride to the hospital was quiet. Cristina did ask Jo about Meredith, but she had few answers. She wasn't sure if she actually didn't know, or if she had been instructed not to say anything. The closer they got to the hospital the bigger the pit in her stomach got. She was terrified what she was going to find when she walked into the hospital.
When she got to the hospital it looked exactly the same, except everything was different. When she walked in everything was exactly how she remembered. The look, the smell, the feel, it was all the same. As she walked into the ER, her eyes took in the familiar scene before they met with a familiar face.
"Cristina Yang." Cristina's eyes got soft as they met with the familiar face. She couldn't help but smile as he embraced her in a hug.
"Dr. Webber. It's very good to see you. Even under the circumstances." Cristina watched his smile fade as she brought up Meredith. She knew this had to be just as hard on him as it was for her.
"Meredith, is she umm…" Cristina didn't even finish her question. She wasn't even sure she could have even if she wanted to before her voice began to crack.
"It's ok. She's stable. They have her sedated. She can't hear anything, the blow to her head caused her eardrum to rupture, but Jackson is confident he can repair it. Her leg is broken and she's extremely bruised and swollen, but she's stable."
Cristina closed her eyes and took in what Dr. Webber was telling her. She was trying to process everything before she went up to see her. She needed to prepare herself. She was a strong person, but she wasn't sure how strong she was going to be when she seen Meredith.
"Alex is with her now. Do you want me to take you to her?" Richard asked softly.
All Cristina could do was nod at the fear of tears forming and her voice cracking.
They took the elevator to the fifth floor where the ICU was. Cristina knew the place like the back of her hand, but she still needed someone to make sure she didn't get lost. Richard placed his hand reassuringly on Cristina's shoulder.
"Meredith is strong. She's going to pull through." Richard's words were not reassuring to Cristina. She knew how strong Meredith was. She's the one who survived a bomb, a drowning, a gunman, giving birth in the dark, her husband dying and now, she had to survive this. She couldn't give up now.
When the elevator finally reached the fifth floor Cristina sighed heavily and walked towards Meredith's room. She stopped outside the window and just looked. In all the years she has known Meredith, in all the trauma she has seen, this was the worst. Tears filled her eyes as she looked at Meredith. Alex was sat in a chair next to her bed, he held her hand as he rested his head on the edge of the bed. Cristina placed her hand on the window and just watched her friends in the room. She closed her eyes and tried to control her sobs before she went in. Richard opened the door for her to go in and when the door opened she stood in the door and Alex's bloodshot eyes met with hers. He let go to Meredith's hand and got up from his chair and walked towards Cristina. The two stood there and just stared at each other before Cristina leaned in and embraced him in a hug. The two were never the hugging type, especially with each other, but right now, they both needed it.
When the hug lingered on for much longer than expected, she lightened her embrace and looked at Alex. The tears in his eyes said it all.
"Alex, Meredith is so strong. She's going to pull through this." Her own words didn't even convince her, so she wasn't sure how much they helped Alex.
"I can't believe this happened to her. This morning she was fine, and now, and now look at her. I can't even recognize her. I can't lose her Cristina. I can't do this without her."
"She's our person. We need her alive, so let's make sure she stays alive." Alex nodded and placed his hand on Cristina's back as they both entered the room. Alex went back and sat in the chair on one side of the bed, while Cristina pulled a chair up to the other side. Cristina held on to Meredith's hand. She found it comforting, the warmth coming from her body. She could feel her pulse and that assured her that she was alive.
That night Cristina and Alex both slept at Meredith's bedside. Cristina had been so tired from her long trip and Alex offered to bring her to the house, as did Maggie and Bailey, but she wanted to stay with Meredith. She didn't want to leave her side. Cristina knew she was stable, but she still feared the second she left the hospital something would go terribly wrong.
Meredith made it through the night without incident. Cristina found herself checking her stats and monitors almost every half hour. As was Alex. They couldn't help it, they just wanted to make sure she stayed stable. During rounds that morning Cristina finally got a look at all Meredith's injuries and how extensive they were. Hearing what she went through was excruciating for her, but she was just happy that Meredith was alive and was expected to make a full recovery. After rounds Alex left to go get coffee for himself and Cristina and to check on a couple of his patients. Cristina stayed with Meredith, despite others offering to stay while she took a break. Maggie came and sat with Cristina for a while before heading to surgery, as did Jackson and Bailey. Cristina was happy to be around the people she missed so much, but still wished Meredith would wake up. Once she was alone again, Cristina found herself talking to Meredith.
"Mer, listen to me, you have to stay alive. You have to wake up. Zola, Bailey, Ellis, they all need you. Alex needs you, Amelia and Maggie, they need you. I need you. Please Mer, you are so strong. You can get through this." Cristina found tears on her cheeks as she spoke. She had her hand in Meredith's when she felt movement. Cristina looked up and her eyes were met with Meredith's.
"Oh my god, Mer." She stood up excitedly, happy to finally see her awake, but faced with the task of telling Meredith about her injuries. She could tell Meredith was trying to talk, trying to communicate with her, but couldn't.
"It's ok Mer. You're ok. Your mouth is wired shut, so you can't talk." Cristina could see Meredith growing more confused and then remembered Richard telling her she couldn't hear anything. Cristina quickly grabbed a pen and a piece of paper and started writing things down. Meredith's eye began to fill with tears, so Cristina stopped. She wiped her tears and just held her hand. Meredith probably still didn't understand, so all she could do was be there. She woke up to Cristina hovering over her, who was supposed to be 8,000 miles away in Zurich and unable to hear anything or talk, so she had to be scared. She got the nurse to page Alex, because whether she liked it or not, Meredith needed Alex. He was her person now.
Not five minutes later Alex came running in. Meredith instantly became calmer when he entered the room. Cristina got a little sad seeing the two together, how close they'd come. She didn't expect anything less. She was the one who left, so all they had were each other. There was five of them and then three and now it was just Alex and Meredith. She signed heavily trying not to let her emotions get to her and told Alex she was going to the cafeteria to get some coffee and that she would be back soon.
