Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus
pairing: logan sargeant x reader
summary: not all best friends are lovers.
masterlist ttpd masterlist
_______
Logan has been your best friend since you were in elementary school, and even when he moved away to further his career, you stayed close friends. Logan even sublets a bedroom in your Miami apartment so he stay with you when he’s in town.
It was obvious how much Logan cares for his friends, and maybe that’s why you couldn’t stop yourself from falling in love with your kindhearted friend. Oscar always said that the two of them needed you to be social for them, and that they should hire you to be their social media managers. You always refused, asking what an accountant would know about that.
It’s the off season now, and Logan is back home. The cozy apartment feels more like a home now, and the navy blue throw pillows don’t bring down the vibes as much anymore. You are on the phone with Oscar and Lily when you hear the front door open and close, two people stumbling in.
“You need to tell him, you are only hurting yourself,” Oscar says, reading your body language, watching the way that the blue LEDs in your bedroom reflect the sadness in your eyes.
“I’m okay, I have a date tomorrow,” you plaster a smile on your face. Lily doesn’t buy it, and neither does Oscar, but they play along.
“Keep us updated, that’s so exciting,” she says, hoping to take your mind off of what’s happening across the hall.
“Good night?” you ask Logan when he emerges from his room the next morning. The hurt in your heart pushes through the freeze that creeps in, a lingering hurt from one drunken night years ago.
“Did I wake you up? Sorry,” Logan runs his hand through his hair, you look away because despite him being your best friend you just can’t bear to see him. Despite everything, you can’t help stop the growing ice over your heart towards him.
It’s like every day you realize how much you have changed yourself for him, only for him to not care. He’s too addicted to the drug that is his current lifestyle to care about his best friend. The past ten years have been like this, and in your mind it was time to put yourself first.
Logan doesn’t notice your red dress, with your hair and makeup done perfectly, and if he did he never said. He did see you out on your date by accident though. He stops on the sidewalk, staring at you through the window. He calls Oscar on reflex, holding the phone to his ear without looking away from you.
“Osc, Y/n is on a date,” Logan says, processing what he is feeling.
“A likely place for her to be. She has a life outside of you, just because we are your best friends doesn’t mean she needs to dedicate every second to you like she has in the past,” Oscar replies, a little tired of Logan basically ignoring you.
“That’s not true,” Logan protests, but the hurt he’s feeling says otherwise.
“She’s changed so much for you. She wanted to move to Canada, but stayed for you. She’s defended you online against people who still say you don’t deserve to drive, hell, she’s stopped dating a guy because you were coming home. You have this idea of her that just isn’t true anymore,” Oscar rants, every word like a punch to the gut. Logan will always need his best friend, but he is realizing the truth behind Oscar’s words.
“This guy looks like he would’ve bullied us in school,” Logan watches as you laugh at something the guy says, and as much as he hates to admit it, you look happier than you have since he’s gotten home. Said guy is tall, taller than him, with the body of a gym bro but polished enough that he seems well educated.
“Good for her, she deserves to be happy, I’ll have to call her tomorrow and ask about it. Lily will want to know too,” Oscar’s tone changes, clearly happy to move away from being a middle man.
“You knew?” Logan asks, wondering why you didn’t say anything.
“Have you thought to ask? You live with her. Surely you noticed she was dressed up,” Oscar questions. Logan just watches you with someone else, not understanding why his heart hurts.
Logan thinks back to every time you changed, it was always related to something he said, and when it raised concerns in his mind, he simply brushed it off, not until you started being cold. You would’ve stopped, you wouldn’t have started to push him away if he said he loved you the way that you were, even as a friend.
Logan can’t help but wonder what it would be like to be the guy sitting across from you, your coldness broken away. Little did he know that the thought would shatter you if you knew, like ice breaking into millions of pieces.
Logan looks away, noticing you have that look in your eye, the same one from your belated 21st birthday. Sighing as he walks down the street, he plays back that night, traveling through the passages in his mind to find the memory.
You had drunkenly stumbled into him, impaired by the copious amounts of alcohol and newfound freedom. The next the both of you knew, you were in his bed, wrapped up in one another. Logan called it a mistake and you moved on, not wanting to dwell on it, lest you get hurt.
Logan goes back to your apartment, waiting for you to get home. He doesn’t know why he hates the idea of you being out with another guy, maybe it’s because you are his friend. He perks up at the sound of the front door opening, watching you walk in with a cheerful glint in your eye. He lets out a deep sigh before plastering on a smile.
“How was the date?” Logan asks as you sit on the couch across from him.
“I didn’t realize you noticed,” you warily say, confused why he is asking.
“I saw you at the restaurant you were at and Oscar told me,” Logan says slightly accusingly and you can’t help but shake an irritated feeling.
“Well, maybe if you cared more about my life and not just me as your socials manager, than you would’ve known,” you defend yourself. Logan feels a bit like a kicked puppy, especially since your words are true. “I’m going to bed, we can talk about it tomorrow,” you turn away, heading to your room.
The next morning comes faster than you’d like. Logan wakes early to get coffee and pastries, hoping to ease the tension.
“I can’t be your social media manager anymore. I need to do what I am really good at, and what I spent my time getting a degree in,” you say a little abruptly during the conversation.
“But I need you on race weekends,” Logan says, a bit crushed.
“Oscar hired me as his personal accountant, so I could still come to races, but it lets me spread my wings and start my own business,” you tell him, sipping your coffee.
“Let me hire you then too,” Logan offers and you quickly shoot him down.
“No, you struggle to separate me as a friend and me as an employee. We need to fix our friendship first,” you double down.
“I don’t understand, is everything okay?” Logan asks, his concern feels like a stab in the heart.
“I- I just need some space to focus on me. I love you, Lo, you are my best friend, but I can’t be your friend like that and also your employee. It doesn’t work well for us,” you say, lying about why. You just can’t stand to watch him take a new girl home every race weekend, and you need to crush your crush. You can’t keep wondering what would happen if he chose you.
So you do just that, in the next few months you sell your Miami apartment and move to a small beach town in New England. You and Logan are still close, but everything is different now.
Aside from the occasional paddock appearance with him or Oscar, you focused on yourself. You stood at his side while he married an influencer, you helped babysit when he had kids. You floated in his orbit, a close friend but no longer his best friend. Logan and Oscar stood by your side when you got married to the same guy you went on the date with before you left Miami.
The only thing that would’ve stopped you from getting married would be Logan’s intervention. He would object, saying he always loved you, and that he will always wonder what would have happened if you had dated. Little did you know, that the only thing stopping him from doing just that was the gold band on his ring finger and the kids sitting beside his wife.
Even now, as you lay in bed beside your husband, you can’t help but wonder what if.

only video I got because I'm not a Phone Freak I like Real Life mostly and staring at artists and weeping with big wet real life freak eyes. I wasnt gonna go to see buttress because I have so little money but then I woke up this morning with the sudden pang of knowledge that this was a necessary expense so after a day hanging out with some farm animals I ran to the venue with no ticket (tried to buy online– website shat its pants and wouldn't tell me what the problem was.... Yeah it was sold out but I didnt know) and also late as fuck the opener Zand was already doing her thing but god guides me as always my timing was perfect I was standing there eating my bag of chips in the rain when a dope woman with one small hand got to the back of the line right behind me and started asking if anyone needed a ticket cuz her friend bailed... Win...... we chatted and she brought up that she used to work at a comedy bar turns out it's one down my street and she goes there regularly Alone because stand up comedy is bad so no one likes it but I like it that way worse is better so I'm gonna go with her sometime. Life good. Once inside I easily pushed my way up to the front past the bored zheani fans and then realized my housemate-coworker was inexplicably there?? So I got a dope ride home thank god for that because I gotta be up for work in uh..... oh....................... 3.5 hours.... ohhh.... well could always be worse. Talked to a woman outside who came to Canada from Brazil. Got robbed at gunpoint when she was 12 and listening to hannah montana on her ipod. It was during this show intermission smoke break (I QUIT btw but if ur talking with a brazilian lady about life it is required that you un-quit temporarily) conversation that Buttress zoomed past. We made eye contact for 3 seconds but I didnt recognize her immediately I was drunk and just staring wondering "why is that woman trudging around in a sports bra in the rain..........." ........ uhhh okay be real should I call in to work? Oh wait no no no I must remember....... brazil ...

☆ miscellaneous stalker au canada headcanons!
starring. . . gender neutral reader and canada. warning for stalking (in general), general violence/murder mentioned, + nsfw in the last four headcanons.
author notes; live laugh love this little freak. he’s literally wild about reader and i ADORE that about him. he’s the type of guy to go “me and my partner don’t argue they bash my head in with a rock and i walk it off like a man.” he’s crazy.
matthew williams!
— matthew spends about an hour every day scrolling on his favorite shopping sites in search of things he thinks you’d like. he’s a smart shopper, if nothing else. he seems to know every secret coupon in the world. he really enjoys buying you cute clothing and trinkets he finds online. plushes, slippers, new satin pajama sets, sexy underwear, cat themed mugs, kitchen supplies to replace your old ones— god, not to mention the glorious food he delivers! it’s never more food than you need. it’s just enough so that you can eat your fill and still have a bit extra for later. it’s like having a sugar daddy, honestly. you occasionally feel bad for him and try to convince him to stop spending so much money on you, but williams manages to dismisse your concerns with ease. he lives and loves to serve you, he says.
— if you identify with one of the binary genders then he’ll eventually start calling you a ‘good girl’ or ‘good boy’ over the phone. it’s not something he’s stubborn about, so if you ask him to stop he will. it’s nothing really sexual as he mostly uses the pet name to tease you, enjoying the way you roll your eyes or huff at his words. matthew never dishes out something he can’t take, so you deciding to mirror him isn’t an issue. in fact, he takes pleasure in it, grinning to himself in the bushes of your front yard. you’ll tell him to be a ‘good boy’ and turn himself in to the cops and he’ll simply laugh into the phone. “y/n,” he’d coo, “i can’t turn myself in. you know you’d miss your good boy too much if i went to jail.”
— he’ll occasionally show up at your place of work depending on whether or not your job deals with the public. if you’re something like a fast food worker or a cashier, then you’ll definitely be seeing him from time to time. he’s clever enough to not let you hear his voice off the phone. he’ll either avoid speaking entirely or put on a completely different voice to the best of his ability. williams likely won’t even do anything related to your work, mostly sitting or standing around and pretending to be busy on his phone or, if he’s in a store, pretending to browse for something. he watches you, occasionally taking pictures when he can. when he gets home, matthew prints them out, adding them to a physical scrapbook of semi-blurry photos taken of you. pictures from your front yard.. from your back door.. in the store.. in the parking lot.. in your own bedroom…
— one day he actually sends you a text. when you block the first number, williams texts you again through a different one. the text message comes after he sees you going out the house with another person. he takes offense to the mere sight of you with someone else and it’s here where he starts to show his more violent side. it's a jarring wake up call for you. you couldn’t help but begin to think of him as someone different.. someone romantic instead of creepy. someone almost cute instead of murderous. how silly of you. you slid your phone into your pocket but his message continued to echoe softly in the back of your mind. ‘have fun tonight. if i catch their hands anywhere near you, they'll end up in your mailbox by morning ❤️’
— he stalks you on any and every open social media account you have. instagram, twitter (you tweet the strangest things, matthew loves giggling at your musings), tiktok, tumblr, facebook— hell, he’d look through myspace if he had to. whenever he’s bored at work he starts browsing through everything he can. he just wants to feel connected to you. it’s not enough to have a small picture of you taped to the inside of his briefcase. besides, williams wants to stay updated on your life and scrolling through your social media definitely helps with that.
— on the more sexual side of things, god does he love to masturbate. the mere sound of your voice is enough to make him hump into a pillow like a dog, whining and groaning softly to himself while still trying to seem present on the phone. not to mention the countless blurry pictures of you that are now covered in his cum. he doesn’t want to waste his clear shots of you, matthew would much rather keep those clean. he just wishes he could get his hands on you and show you how much of a degenerate you’ve made him into. it’s a real shame you don’t get to hear the way he groans your name as he cums all over the place. it’s always a messy finish with him, even though he finds the clean up process to be embarrassing. williams never learns his lesson.
— just let him into your house, just once, and he can make your dreams come true. he wouldn’t mind being dominant or submissive, most of the time he just wants to see you get off. he’s the type to kiss the ground you walk on and then fuck you like an animal all in the same night. matthew would be rough with you but still clearly worship you and your body. williams adores giving and receiving praise during sex. he dreams of the day you’ll tell him he’s doing a good job, really, it would mean everything to him to hear that he’s pleasing you. in return, he’d coo into your ear that you’re the only one in the world for him. the only one he’d ever want or need. every inch of your skin would be covered in gentle kisses after he fucks you. he’s a god at aftercare and would make sure you feel like royalty before even thinking of settling into bed beside you.
— he really wants to see you covered in his cum one day soon. positioning doesn’t matter to him, he just wants to see you completely wrecked. williams wants to see your legs shake and your tight little hole quiver. he wants to see you beg for more even though you’re so fucked out already. god, the things you do to him. you’ve made him into such a sick man.
— matthew enjoys giving and receiving oral sex. he’s great at it and even if you’re not the best he would help you get better. he’d have you cum into his mouth over and over until you’re twitching with ecstasy and he’d never even lift a finger. all williams needs is his mouth. his eyes would look up at you with a mischievous glimmer, almost as if he was wordlessly teasing you for enjoying this so much.

Prom Dress
read my random hcs here! (i promise it will make more sense lol)
my own prom was two weeks ago and so i was inspired to write this and i s2g when i started this i did not ship bunny but these mfs grew on me like a fungus
if you have any ideas for any drabbles send me an ask!
word count: 1614
pairing: Lee!Butters/Ler!Kenny
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Butters really liked Kenny. They’d been friends since they were little but had become especially closer in their teens, with Kenny opening up about being transgender and Butters confiding in her about his less-than-stellar parents. On top of that, Kenny was the kindest person Butters knew, and she always supported him. She was funny, easy to get along with, and made Butters feel important, like he mattered. Honestly, he liked her a little more than as a friend but was too shy to say anything.
So, he really liked her and liked hanging out with her and spending time with her…
But.
Senior prom was coming up and everybody had been talking about it for weeks, even the least interested people had been drawn into the endless conversation. (Craig’s contributions to the discussion had been limited to “No.” and “I don’t know.” but at least he’d said something.)
Everyone had their own drama regarding the prom. It would be the first prom where Stan wouldn’t be going with Wendy, as the two had broken up for ‘the last time’ two months prior. Kyle was attending with a date (for once), a boy from North Park who he’d met through basketball. Cartman also had someone to bring, his long-distance girlfriend who was traveling to South Park from Canada (mainly to prove she existed). For Kenny, this was her first prom where she would be openly going as a girl, with Butters as her platonic date. This was a big deal, obviously, and with prom just a week away she was in full panic over what she was going to wear. Her panic had started on Wednesday morning-
“Oh, shit.”
“Huh?”
“Shiiit.”
“Oh, what’s wrong, Ken?”
“I just realized- I’ll need a fucking dress.”
“What for?”
“Prom!”
-And now on Friday she was still stressing out. She had scrounged up enough money to buy a dress from their local Goodwill. Now, she had narrowed it down to two options. A burnt orange gown with a bardot neckline, or a tight black bodycon with a long slit up the thigh. She had the body to fill them out, with a combination of exercise, padding, (estrogen that she’d bought online,) and luck she had a petite, feminine frame. Now she just had to choose which dress to wear.
“I just don’t know,” She was saying, swiping back and forth between the pictures on her phone, “The black dress is cool, but is it too edgy? And I dunno what accessories I would wear with it.” She shoved her phone in her pocket and started rummaging in her closet, “I like the orange one, but it could be too much… although these shoes would go perfectly…”
Kenny had been going on like this for nearly an hour now, and while Butters had tried his absolute best to stay engaged, from going to the store with her earlier to now helping her make the final decision, his attention was drifting. His phone buzzed and he glanced down at it.
eric✨: im board wanna play cod
butters: okay!! :D
“Hey! Did I lose ya?” Kenny said, suddenly appearing in front of him.
“Ah! Sorry Ken, got a lil’ distracted, hehe.” He said, throwing his phone to the side and smiling up at her innocently.
Kenny squinted at him for a minute and Butters squirmed under her stare. She was extremely pretty. Long blonde hair plaited into twin braids, smooth tan skin, and bright blue eyes, as bright as Butter’s glass one. She was dressed casually, with her oversized orange hoodie and black sweatpants, and was watching Butters with a mischievous smile.
“It’s okay,” She said, “Maybe I need to take a break and come back to it. And, I think I know something that'll catch your interest.”
Butters sat up straighter, excited. “And what would that be?”
She grinned at his eagerness and lifted her hands to show him her nails. Kenny had bought false nails at the drugstore and was planning on wearing them before prom so she could get used to the feeling. They were long and black, except for the ring fingers, which were orange
Butters gasped, “They’re so pretty! And they’ll match whatever dress you choose.”
“I know right, I’m so fuckin’ smart.” She trailed off, “Do you know what else they're good for?”
Butters hummed, thinking. “Peelin’ off stickers? Untyin’ knots? Oh! Makin’ clicky sounds when you tap on your phone!”
“Noho,” She giggled, “This.”
She put her hand on Butters’s chest and gently pushed him back on the bed, then straddled his legs. He felt his face get hot at their proximity and also began to squirm in anticipation. Butters liked many things about hanging out with Kenny, and this was one of his favorites.
She gave him that Cheshire grin, then pushed up his Hello Kitty t-shirt and gently traced one nail down his chest, towards his belly button.
“Wait! Kehehehen!” He giggled, wiggling in place.
“Whaaat?” She teased, dragging the tips of her nails down his sides and scratching them in small circles.
“Ahahaw jehehehehez,” He squeaked, “Thahahat’s reheheahahally tihihickly!”
“You’re so fucking ticklish. It’s adorable.” Kenny teased. She rested her nails on the sides of his ribs, then quickly swiped down to his hips and back up again.
“Kehehennyhy! Pleheheahasehe, ihihit tihihicklehes sohohoho bahahahad!” He giggled, bunching his hands in his shirt and wiggling in place. His faux complaints were part of the game, to spare him some embarrassment.
“You say that, but you aren’t moving, or pushing me away, or saying stop, or-“
“Hehehe! Yohohohuhuhu knohohow why!” It didn’t really work.
She hummed, lightly pinching Butter’s ribs, “Do I? Maybe I forgot.”
“Kehehen,” He whined, “Yohohouhur behehihin’ mehehahan.”
“You’re right,” Kenny said, “I know you love being tickled so fuckin’ much.”
She then started to gently spider her fingers over his stomach.
“Nohohohohot thehehe behehelly!” He laughed.
“Why not?” Kenny said, then leaned forwards and whispered in his ear, “Is your tummy too ticklish?”
Butters squealed, his face burning as he leaned forward to press his face into Kenny’s neck. His hands came to grip her waist as he giggled helplessly while her nails gently wiggled all over his body. He sat up even more, giggling into Kenny as her hands came around to skim over his back, making him arch into her.
“Ehehehe! Ihi dihihidn’t ehevehen knohohow my bahahack wahahas tihihicklihihsh!” He said, his arms wrapping around Kenny, hugging her while she tickled his back. Her hands began to crawl higher and higher until they brushed his shoulder blades and his long-forgotten flight or fight instincts rewoke as Butters flipped her onto the bed and grabbed her arms, pinning her down.
They both panted for a second, breathless for different reasons. While Kenny often played with him, Butters never took charge or fought back.
“S-sorry, Kenny.” He stuttered, his face burning. Kenny was still staring at him, her mouth agape. He let go of her hands and shuffled back a bit, ready to get off her. Instead, she sat up and took his face in her hands.
“...Kendall?” He said, flustered beyond belief. She was looking at him like she’d never seen him before.
“I-I just realized that I like you. Like right now, holy fucking shit.”
Now it was Butters’s turn to gape. “You- what?” He said, brain struggling to comprehend her words.
“I like you. Romantically. Fuck! I mean, of course, I like you, it’s fucking obvious. I like being around you and you make me laugh and when I see you with other people I get jealous and I haven’t wanted to be with anyone since we became close and I think you’re wonderful and kind and beautiful and oh my fucking God, I might actually be in-” She cut herself off, staring at him.
He blinked. Turned to his brain, which hummed like static, and shrugged back at him. He blinked again. Suddenly, it seemed like there was only one thing to do.
He leaned forward, closing his eyes as their lips touched. It was the chaste kiss to end all chaste kisses, barely a brush of skin, but he felt a deep warmth that started at his mouth and spread throughout his whole body.
There was a beat, then Kenny pulled his face back in and kissed him properly. He made a little noise of surprise, tilting his head to press them closer together. His hands slid up her back, fisting into her hoodie as she moved against him, his stomach swooping when she softly bit his lip. He had never felt so right.
They kissed till they were laying down, breathless, and pressed against each other.
“So…” Butters said, never one to let even a comfortable silence sit.
“So,” Kenny replied, scratching her nails through his hair.
“Did you decide which dress you were gonna wear?” He asked, making her laugh.
“Yeheah, I think I did.”
Butters sat up, looking at her with sparkles in his eyes.
“Then let's go get it!” He said, springing off the bed.
Kenny laughed again, then followed him up, kissing him softly.
“Let’s.”
On the way to the door, Butters remembered his phone and grabbed it, opening his and Eric’s messages.
So I'm flying to Halifax tomorrow to do a very silly thing with some friends. The last time I went to Canada I just went to my mobile provider's website to get the data add-on. Took like five minutes, and I went on with my life.
They have taken the option to add/remove it from the things you can do online. So I had to sit on chat for 45 minutes with this poor agent who probably didn't want to be dealing with me anymore than I wanted to deal with them. How is this efficient or cost-effective for anybody?
The process was terrible enough I'm thinking of just buying an e-sim next time I travel internationally so I never have to do this again. Fuuuuuck.
[edit:] It took five minutes over the phone when I did it for my husband's account. I'm so cranky.
Things I’ve come to learn in the last 48 hours:
UK roads are so much bumpier than North American roads. I have rediscovered that I used to be the most motion sick person you knew. I haven’t been road queasy in six years.
The upside is I simply cannot go on my phone out of boredom. Tumblr would’ve made me throw up on the road. Unfortunately, so would’ve reading the maps. The other upside is I am on fucking international roaming, so I really shouldn’t be using my data liberally anyway.
You all are so nice. You are so fucking nice. Holy fuck, the stereotype of the stoic Brit does not really apply in practice. You’re the nicest people, holy shit.
Also, you are one of the countries where neighbourhoods still feel like communities. Street WhatsApp groups, knowing your neighbours’ names, being in their lives, drinking together. I know only two of my neighbours, and one I know because they were being a dick to me and the other I know because I was bitching about the dicking to my other neighbours and then I asked their name.
The drinking culture is real. Holy fuck. I have consumed more alcohol in under 48 hours than I have in 5 years of being able to buy my own drinks with 0 parental supervision on my day-to-day life in Canada. But how can I blame you? Somehow, your drinks just taste nicer. For one, they don’t taste like $11 of piss.
Youse… how do I put this! You’re able to galvanise prettiness into discounts and free stuff. And it works. I don’t fucking know how. I’ve witnessed the magic with a dropped jaw. Maybe it’s something to do with the fact that your servers aren’t under Damocles’ sword of tipping. Flirting in this country does the job of a voucher.
Youse don’t like Americans, do you. I get away here because I’m obviously not American, and to the passing ear I would pass more close to British than authentically Canadian because of my Indian accent (idk how either man, this is just what people tell me), but you are very acutely attuned to the stereotypes. You ever wonder if something is more of online heresay and that people don’t actually feel that way in the real world? It may be so with Canadians, I could mention most stereotypes about Canadians and Brits would be like, ‘huh, I didn’t know that’ (case in point, I said to a few today that Americans think of us first when they talk about weed, and they were like ‘huh. We just think of Amsterdam’). When it comes to the stereotypes about Americans, you know and will tell me every single one. Your friends are exceptions, they don’t disprove the rule.
Adding on to the point about niceness and stereotypes, you are surprisingly willing to travel long distances to meet friends. I’ve already had like four friends offer to travel fairly significant distances to see me while I’m here. I promise to reciprocate, obviously! People say all the time that Europeans don’t do well with the kind of distances North Americans are just used to because the continent is vast, and my bestest friend, a Londoner, is allergic to anything over 20 minutes to the point where I’ve just told her I’m coming to her house. I’ll sort travel, and we can sedate her if it gets longer than 20 (legally that is a joke). Perhaps you’ll grumble every minute of your 2.5-hour long trip, but if there is a train that goes, you will get on it.
Oddly, I’ve similarly had Americans be okay with driving out long distances to catch up. Canadians need to step up their game, holy fuck, I’ve had ‘friends’ in the same city who can’t be bothered to make a 15 minute trip, and this isn’t one or two people, over six years I’ve just noticed this is a Canadian thing. Yeah, we’re ‘nice’ but from a distance. Don’t ever come to our houses. Bye. Step up, Canadians. (My door is always open, I promise.)
You end your nights early. Here I thought we close down early.
The way you call Teslas ‘tezzies’ will actually kill the man dead. Keep up the good work.
Sailor Lecoule Fude de Mannen Tsukigumo セーラー レクル ふでDEまんねん(月雲)
I may have gone feral and jumped on buying this a bit too fast 🙈
I bought this directly from Sailor's online shop and used Tenso to deliver it to me in Canada. These Fude de Mannen pens were released as a pair, Tsukigumo's nib is bent at 55° while Yuugumo's is bent at 40°. I think it's cute that these pens were created with a cloud theme in mind, Tsukigumo = moon cloud and Yuugumo = evening cloud 🌙⛅
The colours in Sailor's stock photos are more accurate. My phone can't seem to capture the blue of the pen quite right, you can definitely tell that the blue in Tsukigumo is more yellow-leaning when you're looking at it in real life. It's not a deep, navy blue like my photos 🙇♀️ The white parts of the pen is semi-transparent and is pearlescent, which goes really well with the "moonlit cloud" imagery.
I only bought Tsukigumo since I already have two pens that have a 40° fude nib (Hocoro dip pen and Yurameku Profit Jr.)
I think it's because I hold my pen pretty upright when I write, I like the feel the 55° fude nib more, I experience less "scratch" and barely have to adjust my hand as opposed to when I'm using the Hocoro fude nib, it takes me a while to find that "sweet spot" when I'm using the Hocoro.
Below are some writing samples of the Hocoro fude nib (40°) and the Lecoule Fude de Mannen (55°). It's very easy to get thicker lines with the Lecoule without straining my wrist. Most people would probably use a fude nib for calligraphy but I'm excited to draw and doodle with this pen!
Missing: Stacy Lucien "Luke" DiLenardi
August 17, 2024
Stacy DiLenardi was 30 years old when he disappeared in November of 2005. Stacy had lived in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada his whole life, but had moved to Sault Ste. Marie (Garden River) to begin a new job. The job was working as a technician at the Ontario Forest Research Institute (OFRI). Stacy still always had contact with his family in Sudbury, despite the move.
On November 27, 2005, Stacy talked to his father on the phone. On November 28, the next day, he went to work wearing beige pants and a biege/khaki vest over a blue sleeved sweater. Stacy left work for lunch that day, driving his 2003 red Chevrolet Cavalier to Sewell's Gas Bar.
This gas bar was located on the Rankin Reserve (436 Frontenac St). At 1:12 pm, Stacy bought some Player's Light cigarettes. After this, Stacy was never heard from or seen again. No one knows what happened following him buying cigarettes.
Investigators searched extensively for Stacy after he disappeared. On December 1, 2005, only three days later, Stacy's abandoned car was found "disabled" 7km in on Connor Road in Duncan Township, 13.5 km from where he was last seen.
There was reports that this location is considered a snowmobile trail 15 km behind Garden River First Nation Reserve. There was no evidence found, and the search was called off due to heavy snow.
In April 2006, about 5 months after Stacy disappeared, there was a second search that spanned over 20 days. Sudbury Police reported that up to 55 trained searchers from Sault Search and Rescue, OPP and the Sault Ste. Marie City Police searched heavily.
OPP helicopters were used, along with snow machines and specialized OPP canine handlers with cadaver dogs. The initial area where Stacy's car had been found was searched again as well. Law enforcement claimed to not just be looking for Stacy himself, rather any evidence that would suggest he walked off, or was deceased.
In May 2006 the search was called off. No evidence of Stacy's whereabouts were ever found. At the time. of his disappearance, Stacy had only been living in Sault Ste. Marie for less than three months.
Stacy DiLenardi is described as wearing glasses, known to smoke menthol cigarettes, thin build, standing at 5'8 inches tall, 155-160 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair to his ears, balding on the top.
Stacy is also described as having psoriasis, a skin condition, on his arms, legs, and back. He took medication for thyroid and depression. He had recently changed his name to Luke legally.
Trying to find a silly purse shaped like something fun to buy online (Canada) but they keep showing me like little clutches and handbags or small things barely big enough to hold a phone and maybe *maybe* a wallet, like no! I need to be able to sneak a bottle of pop and minimum two bags of candy into the movie theatre in this, do you not understand??
#not writing#online shopping#saw a purse shaped like a radio and a dinosaur and a crab and etc but all too tiny!
- February 28th 2024 -
What were you doing one hour ago? Looking around online for house painting businesses. I want the crown moulding on the kitchen cabinets in the new house painted white to match the rest of the cabinets.
Where were your parents born? My mom was born in Delaware, and my dad was born in New Jersey.
Have you ever used public transportation to get to work? Yep, back when I was in college and working at the university airport, I took the bus there for the first year-ish that I worked there, until I bought my first car.
What do you miss the most from before Covid times? Not having to worry about catching it lol. Unfortunately I'm not able to get any further Covid vaccines because 2 out of the 4 boosters I've had so far gave me heart problems, and the most recent one gave me a full-on heart rhythm disorder that I need to take medication for long-term. It's been over a year since that last booster and I'm still not better. I'm very pro-vaccine, I'm just one of the very very few unlucky people to have a serious complication from it. But thankfully I've never had Covid, I'm really hoping I simply have some sort of natural immunity to it.
What has been the best thing to happen to you in the past year? Traveling to Ireland last September/October with my husband, parents, brother, and sister-in-law. And also my husband and I are currently buying a house which is super exciting.
Who do you have listed as emergency contacts in your phone? My husband, my brother, and my parents.
Are you prone to jealousy? Nope.
How did you get through the lowest point in your life? Loads of self-care, and the support of my husband.
Have you ever been someone's first love? Yep, my husband and I are each other's first loves.
Have you ever played frisbee golf? I played it once in gym class my freshman year of high school. There was a huge park across the street from the school, and it had a frisbee golf course.
What is your favorite silly, feel-good movie? The Barbie movie lol.
How old were you when you got your first gaming console, and what kind was it? Around 8. Nintendo 64.
Who in your family has the coolest job? My husband is an airline pilot, and as a former commercial pilot myself (non airline) of course I think that's cool. I also have a second cousin who's a boat captain up on Cape Cod. Oh and my brother's job is pretty neat too, he does anti-fraud investigation in the banking industry.
Is cereal technically a soup? Haha I suppose you could see it that way.
Have you found your first gray hairs yet Nope.
What is something that drains your energy really quickly? Socializing with anyone other than close family. I'm a hardcore introvert, that shit wears me out so fast.
Did you parents teach you how to make a budget before you moved out on your own? Yep. My parents are very financially savvy and they made sure to teach me all of that.
What is your favorite food to put gravy on? Roast turkey and stuffing.
Do you know anyone from Canada? Yep, one of my friends from flight school was from Canada. And my Great Grandy and Nana lived in Montréal for many years, but they weren't originally from there.
What's your opinion on astrology? It's unscientific rubbish.
Do you use TikTok? Nope.
What do you have going on the rest of the day? Hardly anything. I'm going to have dinner soon, and then I need to wash my hair because I'm meeting my realtor and home inspector at the new house tomorrow and I don't want to look like a greasy hobo.
No Static At All
I bought my first car in 1979. It was a two-door Toyota Corolla, and about as basic as it could be. With a four-on-the-floor (which is now a rarity!), a heater, defogger, and AM/FM radio, it got me where I needed to be. And like a lot of people back then, I bought an add-on cassette deck, and mounted it under the dash. Two speakers on the rear deck meant that I was riding in style.
Well, in my mind. I kept telling myself that.
Skip forward to the van I bought in 2020 during high COVID. I knew the rental car companies were in a world of hurt, and needed to sell off inventory to generate cash flow, which would be used to buy newer models. This meant fire sales across the country at their regional sales lots. I shopped online, and got a killer deal on a low-mileage 2019, and am still driving it.
I had owned it for a full year before I discovered there was a CD player hiding behind the LCD panel. I haven’t listened to CDs in years. I had signed up for SXM when I got the van, and that was all I ever listened to, ignoring AM/FM as relics of the past. And when I get bored with 150+ satellite stations, I sync my phone to the system, and tune in Spotify. I suspect I am no different from millions of other motorists.
All of which causes me to ponder how much music consumption has changed through the years. We have gone digital, streaming either from satellites or cellular services, and in a fairly short amount of time. Spotify did not arrive in the US until 2011, and the original XM Radio in 2008.
The only time I have even used the old-school radio was last summer while crossing western Canada. I intentionally flipped over to FM, because I wanted to experience the Canadian Content law, which stipulates that at least 35% of the songs played must have some Canadian origins, either writer, performer, or production.
But for all the growth of digital music, companies like Spotify are still swimming in red ink. My students who were with me in MKT6356 last semester remember a huge end-of-semester assignment that involved watching a Netflix series about Spotify and the struggles it faced when it was founded. Their latest earnings report shows that, while listeners (both the free and subscriber kinds) rose significantly, things are not all that rosy. The firm slashed six-percent of its global workforce, or 600 employees.
And get this: Their shares popped yesterday. I guess that a growing listener base trumps losses and layoffs.
Spotify points to its aggressive moves into podcasting as the source of its woes. They dropped some major cash for exclusive rights, including $200 million for the Joe Rogan Experience. And some of those podcasts have not exactly performed at expected levels. Spotify relies on ears (unlike eyeballs for most other media), and if people are not listening (which they can track quite well), then advertising revenues will sag. Investors are bullish, though, and still see future profit potential.
In a related move, Ford just announced it was going to eliminate the AM radio in its new F-150 EVs. I’m not sure how or why they chose this model. While that move probably doesn’t ruffle the feathers of many EV drivers (or most people in general), it did upset one rural radio station owner who contends that farmers and other country folk need their AM radio to be able to get the latest wheat and cattle futures. That’s something you can’t do on FM, SXM, or Spotify.
I’ll let those people iron out that one, but for a guy who only used his broadcast radio for a few days in the last 2 1/2 years, I’m not going to lose any sleep over it. I’ve got too many choices as it stands on my SXM and Spotify. I keep sending my money to both, and were even just one of them to go away, my drives would be a lot quieter.
Kind of like in that ’79 Corolla whenever I drove out of signal range, and the cassette got stuck in the player. Oh, the humanity.
Florida Gators 2022 SEC Volleyball Regular Season Champions Shirt
But with the spending you will increase the production of Florida Gators 2022 SEC Volleyball Regular Season Champions Shirt. Either way, in the macroeconomy, “Spending” is what leads to wealth production, “not spending” reduces wealth production and does nothing to increase money saved. That money saved will exist whether used for spending or not. So on either front, if the goal is to increase savings, and increase the net production of wealth, “not spending” is the wrong advice. “Not spending” will not increase the savings that is the preservation of investment, and it will likely not increase the net production of wealth, in fact it is more likely to decrease both. In the macro economy, “not spending” is more likely to have negative effect on the production of wealth and standard of living, than a positive one.
