More immersive pet treats - Giving treats now requires Sims to go out and buy them!

My anniversary celebration gifts so far have given us players a treat, the sims a treat, and as a player that also enjoys having pets, I thought it might be nice to finish off by giving the pets a treat! :) I enjoy making my game more immersive, and giving my Sims reasons to go out and buy things in OFB businesses as well as more chores/responsibilities. Now if your Sims want to reward their adorable furbabies, they best get on down to the pet store and buy some delicious delectable pet goodies!

The original object used was by RetailSims, who kindly agreed to let me use her objects for my pet global mods. I have improved upon the mesh to include cat treats, remapped it a little and made it easier to recolor. I am not that great at photo-editing but thankfully the kind and generous @kashmiresims agreed to create some fresh new recolors for it, providing textures for cat/dog, big dogs, small dogs and cats :)

How the mod works 1. Mod impacts current family only, because maybe your visitors brought treats with them. I do that sometimes :P 2. Only impacts residential and apartment lots, so that if you encounter strays on community lots, or took a pet on vacation, you don't have to worry about it (unless it is an owned vacation home). 3. For active family to feed treats to pets on residential or apartment lots, they must have a treat bucket object present on the lot, with treats left. Every time you feed a pet a treat, the bucket capacity goes down. When it runs out, you have to buy a new one. 4. Default setting on bucket is 20 treats. It is controlled in BCON 1003 on the object, so if you want a different number you can easily change it :) The bucket is quite large, so 20 seems a little ridiculous, but I wanted your Sims to actually need to buy one every so often and 20 seemed a good compromise. A smaller version of the bucket will be coming eventually.

What would be the reaction of the ROs if a package arrived and the MC said it was an accessory they bought for the RO to wear because they think it would be nice on them. But when the RO open the package they see a dog/cat collar due to a misdelivery? The ROs don't know that it's a misdelivery and MC didn't see it bacause they are washing the dishes or something like that.

(I see you, anon. I see you. Retconning the 90s setting so you can get a collar for your RO. I understand. Also, sorry about the wait!)

S: Their brow raises into a sharp arch as they pluck the collar from the box, holding it up by the tip of their finger. “Are you certain this was for me, darling?” They ask a hint of amusement in their voice. “Because I rather think this would suit you much better.”

Rain: Rain’s face burns red at the sight of the collar in the box. Suddenly, they are re-evaluating their whole existence. “I didn’t realise that this kind of thing was your taste.” Biting their lip nervously, they reach into the box and pull the collar out. They hold it in their hands, assessing it, before testing it around their neck. They turn to look at their reflection in a nearby mirror, and somehow, their skin turns redder. “But… I suppose it doesn’t look bad.”

Taj: Taj growls at the sight of it. They pluck it out with their forefinger and thumb, holding outwards as far as possible as if at risk of catching something from it. “Is this supposed to be funny, Koel?”

The anger in Taj’s voice makes you stop dead in your tracks. When you turn to face the fire in their eyes, your mouth drops open. “N-No, that’s not what I ordered, I swear!”

The sincerity in your voice wipes away some of the anger. Taj drops the collar back into the box as if burned. “I am definitely buying you a cage, little bird.” You are grateful for the jab when you see the corner of Taj’s mouth inch upwards. "I need somewhere to put you when you've been bad."

N: "Oh, my," N utters, an excited lilt to their voice. "I never knew you were the type, my dear." N pulls the collar out of the box, holding it against their against their skin.

Sensing that N was strangely excited. You turn, and your mouth drops. "Wait, no that's not--"

N waves you off. "It's okay, MC. Everyone has their vices. I'm happy to fulfil any fantasy you might have. All I ask is that I see you in this collar... just once."

Umbra: Umbra raises a sceptical brow at the collar, packaged neatly inside the box. Did you get a pet? But you said it was specifically for them, right? Well, you know them better than anybody, so if you believe this would suit them, then it probably will.

Without a second thought, Umbra takes the collar to a mirror. They awkwardly use the reflection to try to wrap the collar around their neck and poke the prong through the holes. Once it's in place, Umbra stares at their reflection for a moment. Well, as long as MC is happy.

"MC. I've tried it on. Do you like it?"

Your bright red face is answer enough.

Aventurine, Dr Ratio, Jing Yuan, Blade when you bring home/adopt a puppy

Notes: i'm a dog person so🧍

aventurine already has three cat cake critters and he loves them, but when you bring home a puppy, asking him with pleading eyes if you could keep it (he swore the pup was also giving him puppy eyes), he couldn't say no.

he'd be so enthusiastic with pets, like he'd buy matching accessories for the critters and your puppy. he wouldn't hold back in buying essentials like the best food and most comfortable beds

aventurine is the type that would send you numerous pictures of your pets, especially when he catches them sleeping in the cutest positions or doing the silliest things

he'd be worried at first if the critters would adapt well with the addition of the puppy, so imagine how happy he is when he sees them all buddy buddy

he bought them their own beds and all, but he'd still allow them to sleep on your shared bed with the both of you. you once had to hold yourself back from laughing when he pouted at you, your puppy sleeping between you two which didn't let him cuddle with you. he ended up cuddling with the puppy anyway

whenever none of you could stay at home due to work, he'd hire only the best pet sitters in town to take care of his babies and he'd ask for updates almost every hour

ratio, straight up, the ‘keep that dog away from me’ but is so close with the dog after a few weeks type

like, when you first brought the dog home, you had to convince him that you should keep it and that you could take good care of it, promising that it wouldn't get in the way of his work

he's reluctant, even nagging you that you'd have to be extra responsible with the animal, but agreeing nonetheless

you didn't know how it happened, but it just did, ratio’s now closer to your dog than you were for some reason. it'd sleep by his feet whenever he was in his home office reading or grading his student’s papers, which was news because he initially forbid the dog to go anywhere near his office

for someone who claimed to not want the dog, he's quite hands on with taking care of it. he'd make a schedule for when it should eat, sleep, and play even though it wouldn't be followed most of the time

he'd also discuss with you about which food is best for the new member of the family like it was some sort of research paper, he'll make sure that the dog will have a good and balanced diet and that it stays healthy

he’d be the type to keep a close eye on his dog when he takes it to a pet salon, making sure the staff doesn't hurt it or make it uncomfortable

jing yuan isn't opposed to having pets, he's got mimi. plus how could he resist the whines and coos from the puppy you held?

he'd introduce your puppy to mimi ever so gently, making sure they got along so you'd have no problem with the two coexisting in the same house

puppies are more often hyper than cats, but it must be jing yuan's influence rubbing on them, because him, the puppy, and mimi could often be seen napping together

like, it'd be so cute to see jing yuan sleeping with a soft smile, leaning back on the white lion and holding the puppy to his chest like it was his child. you have several pictures of them three just sleeping in your phone

yanqing loved to play with the puppy too. whenever the boy’s practice was over, he'd play with it, running around the general’s backyard with the puppy in tow as he led it like a general leading his soldiers to battle

whenever you’re both busy, he'd volunteer to take the puppy to his office so it'd be a common sight to see the general briefing some of the cloud knights while a puppy playfully bit and tugged at his coat

blade would appear nonchalant when you first proposed to adopt a puppy, telling you to do whatever you want

at first, he'd steer clear of the puppy when it first arrived in the house, but as the days passed, the puppy would linger around him. he'd gently nudge it away from him, telling it to run along but the puppy would only wag its tail and bark happily up at him

the little dog would follow him around the house, and he'd stare at it for a while, then go back to whatever he's doing. the day he finally crouched down and gave the puppy a pat on the head was the day he knew he couldn't keep ignoring the fluffy animal any longer

he's so chill with the dog, watching it silently as it tries to pull the toy from his hand in a game of tug of war, rubbing its belly and feeding it treats behind your back when you tell him it's had enough for the day

when he's out on a mission, he'd subtly ask about the puppy and what it's up to, ignoring the snicker he received from silver wolf at the way he intently and fondly watched the video you sent him of his puppy

he's so chill with his dog but the moment someone tries to hurt or look at it badly, he'd give them a deadly glare to make them back off

there was a time when he sat on the couch, muddled thoughts of the past making its way back into his mind. he didn't want it to cloud his mind, to make the mara resurface yet again especially when he's in your shared home and he could hurt you and the puppy

but those thoughts were cut off when he heard a whine. looking down, the puppy sat next to him, placing its muzzle on top of his thigh as it looked up at him as if worried. it was as if it could understand what he was feeling and it wanted to comfort him. if you saw him embracing the dog, you didn't speak about it

Idia Info Compilation part 11: Cats

Idia seems to like cats very much, buying himself a 3D puzzle in the shape of a cat to decorate his dorm room and a “rare kitty cat accessory” in a video game.

He mentions wanting to have a “widdle kitty cat to hug and kiss” but “Leona’s about as docile as an angry lawn mower,” and mentions saying hello to Lucius, but it the main focus of Idia’s attentions seems to be Grim: Idia offers to tutor the prefect in exchange for petting Grim, says he hopes Grim will let him pet him on his birthday and creeps Grim out by offering to let Grim sit with him during Glorious Masquerade.

Idia is delighted by Grim tagging along with them to Harveston, following Grim around so much in the evening that Grim throws a pillow to make him go away.

Idia terrifies Grim in a vignette where he mistakes him for a normal cat and tries to pet him, and Grim has a voice line about keeping Idia from bothering him by sticking close to Cater.

Idia says that, while he can’t deal with dog people, “Dogs themselves are okay.”

There seems to be a low-key running gag of no one being able to understand Idia’s sense of humor.

Bruno Bucciarati

- Loves writing poetry, especially about people he knows and his experiences in life; probably keeps his poems in an out-dated leather notebook inside a locked drawer (i also imagine that he hates to share them with anyone because he sees it as something personal, unless it’s with someone he’s been in a relationship with long term)

- Obviously, a comfort cook. He loves feeding the gang home cooked meals after missions

- LOVES THE RAIN! There’s just something about the rain that soothes him, he also really loves the smell outside after a very heavy rain pour

- He often acts like a protective parent to the rest of the gang, and I strongly believe that he has a soft spot for narancia

- I can honestly see bruno sleeping while sitting up very often, like in chairs and sofas. It’s a habit from years of always being on guard

Leone Abbacchio

- A late night drinker, he enjoys sitting by himself with a glass of wine; he is either zoned off or thinking about the past

- He has an EXTENSIVE collection of vinyl records. Prefers listening to older, slower music because it helps him relax

- This man 100% has a secret soft spot for animals and it’s just so cute, stops on the street to pet and feed stray dogs and cats

- Loves italian pastries, if bruno ever buys a tray of pastries he’ll sneak off at night and eat it all, the gang will probably not suspect a thing and blame it on narancia 😭

- Cold shower enjoyer, also likes showering in the morning rather than the afternoon

Giorno Giovanna

- Plant whisperer, has a habit of talking to plants especially when he’s feeling contemplative

- Giorno keeps his surroundings extremely neat, his room is always spotless and he has a specific system for organizing his clothes, accessories etc

- Obviously has a morning routine, likes to be a pretty princess and has very specific products he uses on his skin, also probably brushes his hair 100 times in the morning to keep it “soft and shiny”

- Enjoys silence more than loud spaces, he doesn’t necessarily hate loudness as long as it’s not too much, but he feels way more comfortable with quiet

Guido Mista

- 100% has a happy trail. I. Will. Forever. Live. By. This. There is not a single thing i hate about mistas character design EXCEPT for the fact araki didn’t give him a happy trail. Like this man is definitely very hairy and prefers keeping a bush

- He is superstitious to the core. He never steps on cracks, walks under ladders, and hates when the clock hits 4:44

- A spaghetti specialist, he takes his pasta very seriously, and even tho he doesn’t know how to cook one bit he will always judge a pasta plate

- Actually doesn’t stink that much, but his body odor is something else after missions (bc of the fact i imagine him to be hairy), but when he’s not on a mission he js smells like citrus and a hint of cigarettes

- Contrary to popular belief, i don’t think mista enjoys gun-play🤔 he sees the gun as something to torture and kill his enemies with, so he would rather not imagine his s/o being in a situation like that

Pannacotta Fugo

- Used to love piano when he was a kid, but when he got older he started to resent it because he felt as if it was forced onto him by his parents, a very good pianist but doesn’t really play

- Habitual Knuckle-cracker, unconsciously cracks his knuckles when he’s irritated or thinking too hard

- Fugo takes pride in his suits and is always dressed to impress, can’t stand the idea of his suits being wrinkled and constantly checks his reflection

- Idk why but i can imagine him playing chess mentally against himself in his spare time

- He’s also fluent in several languages and likes to indirectly flex about it, sometimes switches languages in the middle of a sentence and acts like it was an accident but he actually just wants to flex the fact that he’s multilingual

Narancia Ghirga

- LOVESSS 90’s hiphop and 90’s rap, even tho he doesn’t really understand what they’re saying he is obsessed with the flow and the beat, and also really loves the album covers and how cool they look (i wrote this because 90’s hiphop is my favorite genre of music and i can 100% see it being narancias’ too)(also he prefers biggie over tupac)

- Surprisingly good at video games like arcade shooters, easily spends hours playing and if a game contains a daily log-in streak type of thing, he takes it very seriously

- Snores sooooo louddddddd and moves alot in his sleep, if you’re sleeping next him you WILL be getting kicked, also scratches you with his toenails and cold feet to piss you off

- Has a stash of snacks hidden away for himself and hates sharing, sometimes the chocolates get melted and the candies get stuck together bc of how tightly stashed away they are but he doesn’t care and eats them anyways

- Doodles constantly, on anything, napkins, tables, hands you name it, if he has a pen in his hand he will doodle simple cute drawings

- His phone wallpaper is one of kawaii nutella photo things LMAO😭 idk if you guys know what i’m talking about but he thinks they’re so cute because of their big eyes

Lazard finally lets everyone adopt pets. Who gets what animal?

• Zack gets a hamster named Deathblade because "just because it's small doesn't mean it can't be badass." He proceeds to spend his entire paycheck buying treats and accessories for the hamster.

• Genesis wants to be exotic and different, so he gets a parrot, teaches it to recite Loveless, and then immediately regrets it. Angeal opens his office door and finds the parrot reciting Loveless for the 76th time in a single hour. Genesis is dissociating under the desk.

• Sephiroth's trip to the pet store ends with him also adopting an exotic animal because the owner told him how no one would adopt it because they were notoriously feared and misunderstood.

Sephiroth: I'm upset on my pet's behalf. No one seems to share the same excitement for its presence as I do. Zack: Aww, well I'm sure your new friend is great. I can't wait to meet them. *Several people run by while a giant python with a bell around its neck pursues them* Zack: !? Sephiroth: Look at how they flee from the poor creature.

• Angeal gets a dog like he's always wanted, but now Zack gets jealous because Angeal has no time for him. Zack has to explain to people that he's upset because Angeal is spending more time with the dog, not that he's jealous of the dog because he gets compared to a puppy. And yet Angeal still walks in on Zack arguing with the dog, wild hand gestures and all.

• Sephiroth is forced to return the snake and gets a cat instead. All is well. Except Sephiroth is fully committed to this cat and should anything happen to it, he will burn everything to the ground.

Him being an angel does change a few things, I think animals naturally flock to him as well just because of his angelic background so he and your cat are kind of just automatically BFF's

So much that you convinced JJ to get one with you. You named her Daisy, and she was an absolute sweetheart.

You often took her with you wherever you went.

She was practically a princess. You spoiled her rotten. Always buying her outfits, accessories, and cute bags to carry her in.

Sarah also loved dressing her up, so you two went to the mall and look for anything that would fit her.

Sarah was your number one best friend, seeing as how you grew up with her.

You were a kook, and the nicest one Sarah and the other pouges have met.

It was a shock to everyone when you started dating JJ. You were rich and grew up completely different from him. But your differences just make your relationship better.

Today, instead of Sarah, it's JJ who's here with you.

"Okay, Daisy, where to first?" you ask the small dog in your bag.

"Not at all!" You beam at the lady and place your bag on the checkout counter. Daisy wags her tail happily as the woman pets her head.

JJ turns to you, "I'm going to get something, I'll be right back. Wait outside here when you're done,"

"Okay," you kiss his cheek.

Once you finish paying. You happily walk out of the store with two bags in your hands and Daisy in the bag on your shoulder.

JJ still hasn't come back so you sit on one of the benches outside the store.

You kiss Daisy's head and grab the pair of sunglasses you bought today that matches her outfit. You place them on her and she licks your hand.

"You look so cute," you laugh. "Wait until I show Sarah all of this."

Just then, JJ slides next to you with a tray holding three drinks. "You didn't," you chewed your lip.

"I did," he grins. He grabs the larger one, "For you, Milady. And for you, MiDaisy." He sips his own drink while putting the tiny one in front of Daisy's mouth.

She licks the whipped cream and wags her tail.

You smile, "I think that drink is the cutest thing ever."

JJ looks at you and pouts, "Cuter than me?"

"Not at all," you poke his side.

"You guys!" you shout when you get to where Kie, John B, Sarah, and Pope were hanging out.

JJ trails behind you with Daisy in his arms.

Sarah stands up excitedly when she sees the bags. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

You nod and grab her hands, "I think so."

"Puppy fashion show!"

You have all your friends and your boyfriend sitting in a row, and you are a few feet away.

JJ is holding small treats that he'll put on the floor to get Daisy to walk straight to them.

You turn around and change her into the outfit you bought and then place her down so she can go to JJ.

Each time they all clap - mostly Sarah - and Daisy sometimes walks over to be pet.

After the outfits, Sarah steals Daisy and you walk over to JJ.

"We should do that once a month," you rest your head on his shoulder.

"If you do that once a month, she'll need her own room to hold all of that clothing."

This was the third time, the third time that you were stood up. You didn’t know what was wrong with you, you always look your best, had the proper manners, as well as a kind heart. So what did you do wrong? You had tried reaching out for your boyfriend’s phone number, but it always went to voicemail. Eventually, you gave up. With a grimace expression, you turned around and started to head back to the apartment.

You finally understood that he didn’t want you, that you were just a simple one night stand. You felt… like an idiot.

Cuz I’m so stupid in love.

During your walk back, you bumped into a close colleague, Kaldo Gehenna. “Oh? Y/N, strange to see you out of the workplace. Out on a date, I assume?”, the white haired male stood tall, he seemed to be walking his pet dog, Honey. Your face twisted into an unsure expression. “Kind of… got stood up by my boyfriend, so I broke up with him through text..”, you awkwardly responded to your colleague’s question. It wasn’t something worth smiling about, so Kaldo’s face softened.

Let’s get married in Vegas

Kaldo already knew your boyfriend was a horrible person from the start. He wanted to warn you earlier, however, the white-haired male also knew that it would’ve ruined the close bond between you and him. Kaldo didn’t want that, he didn’t want that to ruin his progress with you.

“Then why don’t you and I go on the date?”, his suggestion was out of the blue, shocking you with his words. “A date? With you?”, You ask, wanting to make sure that’s what he had asked. It finally hit Kaldo in the face, he had asked you on a date. “Uh, yeah- that’s what I meant, but if you don’t want to it’s fine as well-”, you stopped him from ranting on by holding both of his hands. “Sure, why not?”, with a smile, you looked at him softly. This man was flustered, but he kept his awkward smile, which you found adorable.

I don’t wanna think too much.

You and Kaldo walked down the street, passing many cafes, stores, and reached a dog friendly restaurant. As you two walked into the restaurant, a waiter sat you both down near a window. It had a nice view of the city, people were walking outside, reaching places where they needed to be. You started a small conversation, which led to you finding out that both of you have a lot in common. You both had a sweet tooth, but you giggled at the part where Kaldo told you about how he likes putting honey on everything.

Let’s just say that the conversation started to lift up your mood.

Once you both finished your food, you went to go pay. Leaving a nice tip for the working waiter. Kaldo and you left the restaurant with Honey by your side, you both entered an accessory store. It had many cute key chains, some were matching ones. You haven’t noticed that Kaldo had already paid for something, but you followed him out the store.

“What did you buy?”, you asked confusingly. He turned towards you and smiled. “Matching keychains”, the white haired male replied. Handing you a brown bear, that was holding a jar of honey, keychain while he held up a white polar bear keychain. This made you blushed slightly, you never really received anything from your ex before, so it was very much appreciated. Then Kaldo took out something else, it was a cute cat plush that you’ve been looking at when passing one of the stores.

Even MORE games for alterhumans!! Just like the last one, these are all games where you play as an animal, but this time they aren't all super realistic!! A few of these cost money, indicated by a "$" next to the title, but all of them are free on the last list!!

Animal jam [Play Wild!]: Starting off this list with another BANGER as of today, AJPW updates monthly, with a new animal, pet, and den in every update! AJPW released in 2015, 5 years after the classic version! The game is super active and likely always will be, and there's no singleplayer option, but there's no requirement to interact with others to play.

Playable Animals: [every update animal leaves shop with the next update, so im only listing the ones that do NOT rotate.] Choose between Monkey, Bunny, Wolf, Fox, Tiger, or Panda as your first animal, and buy the Arctic Wolf, Horse, Lion, Lemur, Snow Leopard, Arabian Horse, and Eagle later on with your sapphires!

Customizability: you can customize every animal's fur colour, special pattern, eyes, and accessories to your liking!! The wide range of accessories lets every player have their own unique look!!

Rating: I give it a 10/10! I've played AJPW since 2018 and i dont think ill ever quit..

Dungeon Dogs: Dungeon Dogs is an idle rpg released in 2020 by Pocapp Studios, with tons of dogs to collect and battle with!! It's entirely singleplayer, and im not quite sure how often it updates 😓

Customizability: With accessories, coats, and pets you unlock upon leveling up, you can customize your dog to look however you'd like!

Rating: 10/10, i like the events and silly main story, and it's fun watching my little team of dogs beat up bears and leopards.

Castle Cats: Another singleplayer idle rpg released in 2017 by the creators of Dungeon Dogs!! Again unsure of how often it updates 😓

Playable Animals: Just cats!!

Customizability: Just like Dungeon Dogs, you can entirely customize your cat's fur, accessories, and pets upon leveling up!

Rating: 9/10, It's still silly and fun, I just prefer the art on Dungeon Dogs more 💔💔

$ - Shelter 2: Take care of your four cubs as you fight to survive the wilds. Hunt for them, defend them from predators, and watch them grow up. Released in 2015 by Might and Delight, it's a VERY pretty game <3

Customizability: You cannot customize any of the Lynx beyond their names!!

Rating: 10/10! This game is so pretty!! i love the exploration, and the ending is always my favorite part of it!!

Playable Animals: Cat!

Customizability: You can customize your eyes and your coat whenever you'd like!! You can buy some coats from shops, unlock coats from quests and redeem LOTS of coats with LOTS of codes!! My favorite is the Winter Snowday !! [Check out this coat colour guide too!!]

Rating: 10/10!! I love the style, and causing chaos with my devsprint is super fun !!

$ - WolfQuest [Anniversary Edition]: Released in 2019 by Eduweb, Wolfquest 3 is a pretty realistic wolf game !!!! This version is a lot nicer than the original, and the creators still update it! It even has a multiplayer option!! The main goal is to raise and protect your pups, but you can do whatever you want!!
