PSA - Commission scam regarding @/ virtualpiratekitty

⚠️please do not go harrass this person! Just report and block.⚠️

virtualpiratekitty is scamming artists like myself by sending fake paypal emails saying they need to 'expand' their account by receiving a $100 dollar transaction. this results in the victim sending back money they never received (being told to do it under friends and family so you cannot file a chargeback as far as I'm aware.) I fell victim to this due to me being inexperienced with paypal and failing to notice the warning signs. luckily I did not fall for the $100 scam and only lost $12 'refunding' them for the commission. When I resisted sending back money I didn't get, they threatened me. I'm a very timid person and so of course I folded, but looking back I should've stood my ground. Unfortunately because I was so timid I blocked them and deleted our chatroom as soon as I sent the $12 over in fear of further threats, so all I have as proof is the fake email which I will attach below.

digging into their account, I saw that their likes were filled with art posts, leading me to believe that they target mainly smaller artists, which prompted me to make this post. I'm not sure if this will reach anybody, but I'd rather try than not say anything at all.

TLDR: do not accept a commission from virtual piratekitty. report and block them.

(note: I honestly don't know how I fell for this. In the moment I was very stressed and confused as I had never used paypal before. my stupidity has reached a new level, I guess. 😭 also, I am unsure whether or not this is a well known scam, so please ignore this post if this is old news.)
