Hi Nell0 how are you? I’m find and thanks for all that useful information for my broken foot! Healing has been ok but it’s hard to be patient for it to heal especially when it’s already hot where I am and I use my pool to swim in it because of my ✨injury✨! Overall patience is virtue they say. Also how that LOZ comic coming along? Reading it while confined would be nice. Ok I’m heading on now but before I go which Zelda is your favorite? I’m torn between WindWaker Tetra and Wild/Tears Zelda! Both badbutt in their own ways! Thx. ♥️

The comic is going okay! I haven't been able to draw much this week bc of work and there was some conferences I needed to attend this weekend (10 hours of my weekend gone, oof) but I'm looking forward to the result when I'm done drawing at least the first part! It would be way faster if I didn't color it but well, I wanted to, so...

Tetra is such a good character, way different than other Zeldas in the franchise. Botw/totk Zelda has the benefit of being a complex character with a good story arc, the way she changes from her experiences. This is honestly difficult to answer bc I like botw/totk Zelda a lot, but if I had to choose one?

Spirit Tracks Zelda. Her chaotic energy is unparalleled in my eyes.

I started watching a playthrough of the game (I am too broke to buy it rip), and THEY'RE SO CUTE ASDFJKHSAKDFHASLKJ

i think the reason why im so drawn to spirit tracks and pkmn scarvi is that having the legendary/princess as a companion rather than a goal that marks the games completion makes me feel satisfied the way i would after helping a friend

my brother always teases me about how I still havent finished botw after almost 7 years bc "id rather be out picking flowers" which i wont say is untrue. and yes i know Zeldas been holding off ganon for 100 years, yes i can get some sort of idea what her relationship with link was like by recalling memories and going through her diary. ive always loved botw for its unique storytelling and setting which makes it stand out, because it lets you get to know who you're saving.

but because theyre memories, it only works if theres something for the player to investigate that already happened. its retroactive (but effective nonetheless)

on the other hand, spirit tracks does something similar but instead of having the player try to piece together memories and interpret them as a spectator, you actually have an opportunity to get to know zelda yourself by talking to her and working together. besides making it a gameplay mechanic, giving the player control over how they interact with zelda makes it so much more personable.

and I find that making the goal feel personal instead of an obligation gives me more of a reason to work towards it. I know what kind of person botw zelda was but as the player, shes still very much a stranger to me. but spirit tracks zelda? thats my friend!!!! she invited me to go to the beach after we get her body back!!! i dont want to whip her to make her move faster thats mean :(

you know how hostage negotiators are trained to introduce themselves and get to know the person theyre negotiating with because its harder to hurt someone when you know what their favorite food is? its kinda like that, because it feels like im helping a friend than being told or led to do smth

and although i havent played scarvi myself, i feel an attachment to koraidon and miraidon even just watching playthrough clips because its like!! thats my weird scaly dog!! it loves sandwiches and we're friends!!! you know!!!!!!

Something that confuses me about Spirit Tracks is the fact that Tetra canonically became the queen of a new Hyrule. It's not that I'm doubting her ability to govern, but ... that's just not who she is.

Her heart has always belonged to the sea.

Even when she learns it to be the fallout from a war long past, a damnation from goddesses she will never care to pray to, that is still her home, and she loves it fiercely. It has given everything she could have ever asked for: a crew that is more of a family to her than a sunken king, of course, Link, her best friend, and, most important of all, adventure. The sea is vast and there are waters still uncharted. She would be a fool to not explore them.

Additionally, one would think the events that transpired in Wind Waker would provide her the wisdom to avoid such politics by rejecting her "divine" right to rule. Even at her young age, she could see for herself how well her ancestors dealt with their problems. It's probably in her best interest not to concern herself with such matters if she can help it.

And what better way to avoid them, than to keep sailing? The sea carries a sort of freedom within it, after all.

late night doodles of some important characters! Obvi Ghost and Twine, plus a little Shire experiment. Ill probably do a full digital for the one with Shire eventually.

The other three Heroes you won't see again for ages tho lol

(Ignore how scratchy and messy these are I am so tired but I wanted to at least start sharing some stuff for heroes other then Twine and Ghost lmao)

This is my realisation that everytime I put Ghost and Twine together i always subconsciously draw them holding hands and I genuinely cannot its so cute I should not be this happy over something I physically did myself.

Fun fact of the day i guess:

There's a bit of lore hidden in all the art I do for this series, and these doodles are no exception! (Though there's significantly less this time lol)

listening to the spirit tracks ost and my god. how do you manage to convey the two protagonists are such good kids in MUSICAL FORMAT??? there are so many examples. the cheerful earnestness of any of the train-centric themes showing what kind of kid this link is. he's had a chance to be something other than "the hero" and has known actual peace and it shows in just how. peppy the little guy can be. like wind waker link times 3.

and the softness of zelda's lullaby in this one (minus chancellor cole's parts obvs). the *newness* of it. she's princess of a kingdom that's only existed for a hundred years and it's like. you can hear that. all the other versions have some level of self-assurance or even sadness to them (looking at you twilight princess and skyward sword) but like. spirit tracks zelda just got here, and she means well, and she has a lot to live up to (she wants to be like tetra so bad) but she is trying her best!!! i love it.

literally why is spirit tracks looked over by so many people. its the best /r zelink and spirit zelda is one of the best companions in the series imo (not to mention you get to ride a TRAIN?!) flute aside this game is genuinely one of the most entertaining games ive played so far and i wish people talked about it more

Final Dive in tears of the kingdom is fire w the main theme & zelda's lullaby but have you heard the byrne's theme + zelda's lullaby medley in spirit tracks ? You forget the WORK that flute was putting in
