And he laughed when he told me because he thinks that yelling at a man (emphasized man because he thinks men should be "better" than women, and "better" would be voting for Trump in this case) who is voting for a "whore who slept her way to the top" (his exact words) is funny. Do NOT tell ANYONE to kill themselves, regardless of anything. Plain and simple. I've seen a lot of this happening, especially to people who voted for Trump. Trump is a horrible, depraved monster of a person, and if you did vote for him, I will heavily question your morals and character, but that doesn't mean I get the moral high ground--or right--to tell you to end your life. Doing that is wrong and disgusting, pretty much in any situation and just because someone did something horrible does it mean you can tell them that they should kill themselves. Saying something like that about Trump, as in he should kill himself, I can understand, I have made such jokes, but I don't think I could be genuinely happy at the prospect anyone committing suicide. I can sorta see where people are coming from, because they're angry about it, just like the rest of us. Like yes, they did something awful, but wishing for the death of someone because they voted for someone else sounds kind of familiar.

Hey, so, as someone with Trumpie parents. He is on very thin ice with older republicans. They do not want project 2025 to happen. My mom has two disabled children and she does not want them to be subjected to project 2025. Conservatives and republicans will not allow Trump to enact project 2025, especially older ones.

Yes this is scary, yes people are going to die. But Trump is halfway to being senile. The only thing we can do is to keep living. Every queer person and trans person has to keep going for four difficult years and undoubtedly we will lose people, but four years of shitty presidency will not backtrack the queer community. We have to keep moving forward.

incremental change is frustrating and feels like it gets nothing done but it's how the american government works (for better or for worse) and if you get paralyzed by 'we need to revolt voting doesn't matter' that's one more effective vote for the fascists since it's one vote we lose.

I'd much rather have slow but tangible progress (or even just prevention of fascist progression) than everyone sitting around going 'let's wait for the revolution' when no revolution is likely to come while everything gets worse around us.

Obviously, still do whatever it is else to support the antifascist movement. Donate where you can (and do your research!) Go to protests if you feel safe doing so. But do all that AND vote.

something about the tiktok ban that i haven't really seen people here talking about is the experience of tiktok users not from the usa, which was, as far as i can tell, on the whole, very positive. it was actually really nice to, for a short period of time, be on a major social media network and able to interact with people across the world without usamericans constantly inserting themselves into every conversation.

usamericans kind of take over people's fyp regardless of where you're from. this is partly to do with the fact that the creators fund is only available to usamericans so most of the shitty content farms are from the us. then there's also the cultural aspect of the fact that being a citizen of the most powerful empire in the world is a significant privilege, and also a privilege that 99% of usamericans are seemingly unable to acknowledge, plus the us centrism and exceptionalism, plus the constant need to cast themselves as the underdog, and, well. it's annoying.

so, like. everything of what i've seen (which is not to say that other opinions don't exist, just that i haven't seen them) is that it was really nice when the usamericans were gone, and it kind of sucks that they're back.
