Buck is 20 weeks pregnant:

“Ok, ok, you little monster, we will go to Micelli’s to get spumoni,” Buck says to his still pretty small belly, compared to the one Maddie had on the same stage. Doctors said it’s because of his height. He loves his bump a lot. It’s so beautiful and it shows enough right now that people don’t look at him strange, when he speaks to the baby, as it was in the first trimester.

He will get to Micelli’s for spumoni and then get home to bake cheesecake for Tommy to see him tomorrow. He doesn’t let his brain imagine how it will go. That's why today he was working with clipboards all over the station, before coming home. Lists kept him busy enough.

He parks and gets inside the restaurant, happy that it’s Thursday night so the palace should not be crowded, but his heart stops when he sees Tommy laughing and holding hands with a pretty man.

Hope leaves him again. His heart aches and cries in pain, but he refuses to let this man break it again. He runs to the jeep and leaves the place. He will find spumoni somewhere else. Chapter Two: Sirens on the Staircase

Martha fixed her makeup while her assistant adjusted her dress. “Can you do the sweater, Mrs. Wayne?” her assistant questioned. 

“Over the shoulders,” Martha answered. She brushed hospital shampoo through her hair and looked at Bruce. He hated press conferences, but he understood they had to release a statement. “Bruce, you don’t have to do this with me if it bothers you… All I’m going to do is tell them we’re going home soon, we’d like everyone to respect our privacy, and we love our city and hope it doesn’t deter people from supporting local businesses.” 

“But what about crime?” Bruce asked. 

“Crime is only a symptom of a much more frightening disease that plagues our city… So many people are left behind or ignored because of where they come from or what abilities they do or don’t have. We are supposed to help give people whatever we need as often as we can,” Martha replied, “That being said, do you want to do boring press with me? Or do you want to go support Dad at his pain management appointment?” 

Bruce smiled at her. “I’ll tell Dad you love him,” Bruce replied as he kissed her cheek. 

Martha gasped. “You don’t think that I’d be coming on too strong?” Martha teased. “Tell him I think it’s cute how his nose scrunches up when he laughs and see how he reacts… And then, tell him that I love him.”

Bruce smiled and nodded before heading to the physical therapist’s office on the second floor of the hospital. Bruce waved at the window to make sure it was okay to come in. By this time, the hospital was well-acquainted with Bruce and even welcomed his presence. He brought meals and coffee, distracted smaller children while nurses drew blood, and was painfully sweet to everyone who cared for his parents. He even remembered the names of the people at the front desk.

Thomas lit up at the sight of Bruce and waved him over. "I'm taking a dip in the ice bath today," Thomas explained as he unzipped his robe. Bruce looked at the tub of ice water and frowned. "What's the matter?"

"Won't it be too—? Hm... What's that going to feel like?" Bruce asked. Thomas glanced at his physical therapist. He nodded in reply to Thomas' question.

"Do you want to try it with me? We'll only do a few minutes, and then we'll get out and dry off, warm up a little bit, and have a snack. How about it?" Thomas asked. Over the past few weeks, Thomas realized it was better to let Bruce experience the process of his recovery. It was much easier than giving textbook answers to an already traumatized eight-year-old.

Bruce removed his suit and draped it over a chair while Thomas transferred from his wheelchair to the tub's edge. "Truth be told, I'm glad you're doing this with me," Thomas nervously chuckled. He hated the cold, but Bruce loved it. He loved any extreme Martha and Thomas would allow. Thomas took a deep breath and looked at Bruce. "Count of three? Can you do the honors?"

"One... Two... Three," Bruce counted before plunging down into the tub with Thomas. They both shrieked and blew out a breath from the cold.

Bruce reached forward and grabbed Thomas' hand to keep from jumping out of the water. "It's a shock. I know. Wooo! I wouldn't be offended if you had to get out," Thomas reassured him. Bruce shook his head.

"I'm with you, Dad," Bruce replied, his forehead wrinkling as he stared directly into Thomas' eyes. Thomas chuckled. "Mom told me to tell you that she thinks it's cute when you wrinkle your nose when you laugh."

His chuckle turned to a boisterous laugh. "Did she? Do you think that means she likes me?" Thomas joked.

"She told me something else. She said she loves you," Bruce seriously answered.

"Wow. A pretty lady like your mom loves me? Tell her that she's the girl of my dreams... And that I love her, too. Can you remember that?" Thomas asked as he trembled. Bruce nodded. "You're a good man, Bruce. I don't know if I would've done this for my dad at your age."

Bruce beamed as he shivered in the water. "It's not so bad," Bruce lied. Thomas grinned. 

Silence fell over both of them, and Thomas smiled. The discomfort of the freezing cold faded over the next few minutes, and Thomas took Bruce’s hand once more, looking over his nail beds. “Come on, let’s get out… Easy, you first. Come this way,” Thomas whispered. Bruce waded over, and Thomas sat him on the edge. “Dry your legs and the rest of your body all the way first and take deep breaths. Okay?” 

Bruce obeyed, while Thomas pulled himself onto the tub’s edge. The two of them exchanged glances as they shivered and dried off, and Bruce sat on Thomas’ lap after he transferred back to his chair, and they sat wrapped in their towels and Thomas’ robe. “Would you do this again?” Thomas asked as he held Bruce close. 

“Hm… Can we get soup after next time?” Bruce asked. 

“Miso soup?” Thomas asked. Bruce nodded. “You’re in luck. Dr. Edmonds, can I get another spoon?” 

Dr. Edmonds pulled a spoon out of thin air. After they finished eating, Thomas made sure Bruce drank water with him and got dressed. Bruce eventually nodded off in Thomas’ lap after he got dressed, and Thomas went down to the first floor to watch Martha’s press conference. Martha casually widened her eyes, and Thomas nodded as he approached her in his chair. “Mrs. Wayne? Mrs. Wayne, will you and Mr. Wayne be taking questions at this time?” one of the reporters asked. 

“Thomas, honey, are we taking questions at this time?” Martha asked with a playful grin spread across her face. Thomas reached for her hand, playing with the ring on her finger, almost forgetting that the press was there to begin with. 

“I’ll do whatever you ask, Mrs. Wayne,” Thomas joked. Bruce pressed his face into Thomas’ chest, still fast asleep to Thomas and Martha’s relief. 

Martha smiled and turned toward the cameras. “We can answer a few questions,” Martha replied, “But I’m sure Bruce would like to go home and get some rest, so let’s be brief.”

Bruce stirred in his bedroom as he listened to his parents speaking in the next room. It sounded like they were arguing, so he crept out of bed and listened at his door. “Thomas, it was an accident. Don’t be so hard on yourself,” Martha replied. 

“Martha, maybe I shouldn’t—.”

“Oh, Thomas, don’t be that way. You did the same for me when I was pregnant. There’s no difference,” Martha replied. 

Bruce crept out of his room, and Alfred scooped him up. “Master Bruce, I think it’s almost time for lunch,” Alfred whispered as he carried Bruce downstairs. Bruce wrapped his arms around Alfred’s neck, but he couldn’t stop staring over Alfred’s shoulder. 

“What’s wrong?” Bruce asked. 

“Just a small spill, Master Bruce. Would you like a biscuit?” Alfred questioned in reply. 

“Chocolate chip, please,” Bruce answered. Alfred made a soft noise as he patted Bruce on the back. The patting sent Bruce back to the thought of sirens flashing in his eyes, police officers and EMTs swarming on all sides around him. “Wait! Wait! Where’s Mom and Dad? Mom! Dad!” 

“Bruce?” Thomas asked. Alfred carried Bruce up the stairs where Thomas waited in his chair. He was in his robe as he reached out for Bruce, and Alfred handed him off. “Hey, it’s alright, Bruce. It’s alright.” 

Bruce trembled as he pressed his face into Thomas’ shoulder, trying to use his father’s scent as an anchor. “I don’t know who—. I don’t know who took you. The lights—. The lights were flashing, and they took you away from me. I don’t know who—. I wasn’t sure—. I couldn’t—. I couldn’t ask them who—.” Bruce hyperventilated as tears streamed down his cheeks. 

“I’m right here. Daddy’s here. I’m not going anywhere,” Thomas whispered as he held Bruce’s hand. He rubbed circles in Bruce’s palm with his thumb as he kissed Bruce on the cheek. “What’s that silly game we used to play? The one with the—.” Thomas held one thumb up and tapped Bruce’s nose as he started humming the tune to Where is Thumbkin. He switched his hands back and forth even though he couldn’t remember the words clearly. “Help me out, Brucie. Really, son, I’m struggling with this one.”

Bruce slowly started participating, allowing Thomas to wipe his tears away while Martha crept past them to the dumbwaiter. Upon her return, she watched as Thomas struggled to sing along. Thomas lifted Bruce’s chin with his knuckle. “I’m sorry, Dad—.”

“Hey, that’s okay. I’ve got to take a shower, but I’ll be back down for lunch. A kiss for the best, will your heart miss me less? Mwah!” Thomas kissed Bruce’s cheek before patting his arm. Bruce gave him a kiss on the cheek in return. “That’s my big boy. I won’t be gone long. I promise.” 

Martha reached for Bruce’s hand. She scooped him up with her uninjured arm and once she had him balanced on her hip, she blew a raspberry into his opposite cheek. “Is Lovey a little out of sorts after his nap?” Martha asked in a cartoonish bird voice. But before she turned to head down the stairs, she stopped to kiss Thomas. “Isn’t Daddy just the sweetest?” she whispered as she walked down the stairs sideways with her back against the railing. 

“Alfred, I’m sorry,” Thomas whispered. Alfred shook his head. “Could you make sure they get downstairs safely? Hopefully, they take the stair lift down next time. Sorry about all the—.”

“You have never been more pleasant, Master Thomas,” Alfred teased. Thomas chuckled. “We’re happy to have you home, sir.” 

“I’m happy to be home, Alfred,” Thomas half-smiled.

While you followed him you couldn't stop looking at him surreptitiously, his arms, his waist, his back, his hair, especially his eyes... you thought he was perfect, although you always thought that physical beauty was not important, this man honestly had you captivated by his beauty.

"That's enough, you're not here for that" you said to yourself, without realizing it you were facing the grand master of the Shirai ryu, next to him was a woman, she must have been his wife Harumi, Liu Kang already told you about her too.

You didn't know what to say or how to introduce yourself, however Thomas stepped forward.

Smoke asked, this time you finally dared to speak. -Don't worry, we have researched everything about Enenra, we have a plan for all odds, plus I won't let anything happen to you.- You said smiling as you looked him straight in the eyes. Honestly that embarrassed him more.

-Thank you...- Thomas answered.

-I have a place to receive them so they can stay. - Harumi began to speak, you thanked her for her hospitality.

-If there is anything we can help with, let us know.- Said the grand master t.

-We will keep you informed.- The founder of the order of Light finally said.

-We'll start early tomorrow.- You told Thomas with a small smile. He just nodded.

It was beginning to get dark and Harumi had them follow her to show them her accommodation, once they arrived it was a beautiful house, although it was small you loved it and the best thing was that they had a room for each of them.

-It's very nice here- You told the grandmaster's wife.

-I'm glad to know you like it... If you need anything, let me know,- Harumi answered as she left.

At the end of the day you started talking about Ashrah to go over the whole plan they had for Thomas and how to face Enenra, although you were very confident, you had never faced a demon like him so you had to be cautious.

When you were lying down, you couldn't get the man you were going to help out of your mind, he wasn't the first one you'd helped, but this boy was different from the rest and you didn't know why you didn't ask to stop thinking about him. "I hope we get along" you said to yourself. Tomorrow would be an interesting day.

Being back home has been like a breath of fresh air. I got to go to Alex’s grave and lay some flower. Emma and I have hung out everyday since I got to my dads. Liam and I have also spoken everyday and thinks have been good. Today Emma and I have been hanging out in my old room. I watch her pick up a photo from when we were in year 11

“God our lives are so different now aren’t they?” She asks. I get off my bed and walk over to her, resting my head on her shoulder

“Yeah. I know this is going to sound ungrateful, but sometimes I wish we could go back to before I auditioned.I probably wouldn’t be on antidepressants for anxiety, I would be able to leave my house without being worried that I will bump into press, I wouldn’t be in the relationship I’m in now and Alex would still be alive”

“YN” Emma sighs “Alex wasn’t your fault. It was the stupid drunk driver and yes ok the press suck, but if you never auditioned you wouldn’t have met 5 new best friends, you would probably be with James still while he’s in the closet cheating on you. Everything happens for a reason. I truly believe Alex is with you everywhere you go, your guardian angel. How’s therapy going?”

“Not great. I don’t know how to say what I’m feeling”

“Have you thought about writing music?” Emma turns to face me. I shake my head no “I think you should give it a go. Might help you through your feelings”

“I’m not much of a writer. Remember I barley passed English” I chuckle thinking back to my GCSEs

“Well it’s a good job you don’t have to release anything, but you know I would be happy to help”

“So talking about you and Liam, have you, ya know” Emma wiggles her eyebrows at me making my face turn read “oh my god you have!”

“Shhh Em. It’s not a big deal it’s not like I was a virgin”

“Not a big deal? You’ve had sex with Liam Hemsworth” Emma attempts to whisper but it turns out to be a squeal

“Again not a big deal. Anyway what about you any new men?”

“No… actually that’s something I wanted to talk to you about while your back. YN I’m… bi” I know I look shocked, not in a bad way I just never expected to have this conversation with my best friend “I’ve been seeing this girl. Her names Olivia and I really like her”

“Are you happy?” I ask

“Yeah” she breathes out

“Then I’m happy for you” I pull her into a hug. We stay there for a few moments before I hear my dad from downstairs

“Emma, Pumpkin dinners ready”

“Come on I’m starving” Emma places the photos down and places her arm around my shoulders and we head downstairs

“Smells amazing Thomas” Emma says taking her seat next to mine

That night I can’t stop thinking what Emma said to me about writing music to convey my feelings. Getting out of my warm bed I pad over to my notepad and start writing down some feeling. First that comes through is Alex, how I took him for granted

The next emotions to come through were about James and how he cheated on me. How our relationship started when we were so young and how stupid I had been

I close my note book feeling somewhat lighter. Maybe Emma was right. Maybe writing down my feelings into songs is the way to go, even if these songs never see the light of day. I place my notebook in my bedside table draw with a pen, I get back under the covers and manage to fall asleep.

In honor of jdash confirming newt is gay

it's been 3 years since the tweet(s) and i still have a lot to say. the discourse surrounding it has long since calmed down, but to this day some people's responses bother me immensely and i wanna get a few things off my chest.

"it undermines his friendships"

um.. no ? i can't believe people still have this weird mindset. straight people can have friends of the opposite gender, gay people can have friends of the same gender. bi people ?? pan people ?? they can have friends. (don't even get me started on the weird spot nb people land in with this weird friend mindset some homophobes have).

if you never saw newt's relationship with thomas/minho (or even alby) as anything other than platonic before, then newt being gay literally changes nothing.

"he did it as fanservice"

no. if it was fanserice he would've pandered more to the ships; newtmas being the most popular but thomas was not mentioned. if it was fanservice and for any personal gain he would've hinted at other characters also potentially being queer. if it was fanservice he probably would've at least confirmed newt was into thomas; but he didn't. cause it wasn't about any romance, it was about newt and a part of his character.

the crank palace would've been the perfect opportunity to pander more to shippers if that's what he was doing, but there were no explicitly hinted romantic feelings there either. (there were certainly ways to read certain parts of this book as queer, but i won't get into that in this post.)

"he was forced"

yes and no.. the final push to him confirming newt's sexuality was because someone criticized him for donating the proceeds from the crank palace to lgbtq+ (and BLM) charities. however, the way his tweets were phrased leads me to believe what he says. he voices his apprehension to confirm something so long after the work was released in fear of it coming across as insincere. (*cough* jkr *cough*). he also mentioned in this same 2-part tweet that his upcoming series (at the time) would feature lgbtq+ characters much more prominently and explicitly (no plausible deniability).

tldr for this point: it was someone criticizing him that finally made it happen, but i do believe he genuinely stands for what he said. he'd gone through a lot of personal development during the 11 years between the first book's release and the tweets, i don't doubt that for a second.

"there were no hints in the books"

this is a hard one to talk about without outing myself as a newtmas shipper, but i have a few things to say.

james did not intentionally write newt as a queer character. if you read through the books and didn't pick up any queer subtext/undertones, then that was how he, at the time of writing, intended it. however . does this mean there was nothing there ? how come a huge part of the fandom read him as queer then ? it's all up to reader interpretation whether certain subtext is or isn't present in the work they're consuming.

Is he saying this seriously? Because if that's the case you know Virgil and Janus would be on high alert. Did something happen between the two of them? Did Remus hit his head or get a brain parasite (which would be common on his side of the Imagination, js)

Roman would be stunned and heart broken, because deep down, he sees Remus as the ultimate pest, a brother.

Patton would be confused, a little sad (mainly because Roman is hurt) and probably a little relieved, whether he admits it or not. His precious little prince never had to ever associate himself with the unsavory duke, no matter how bad that idea is, feelings are feelings and Patton has a lot of them...and biases...

If he's just being a shit for the sake of getting a reaction, and it's not exactly obvious, Virgil would shift his worry to Roman and Janus would watch the chaos unfold with a glass of wine.

If it is obvious, no one actually reacts except Patton. And then he dials back any upset feelings and goes into Disappointed Dad Mode.

On the off chance Remus is coming out as transfem, which I would fully support, the confusion and upset would give way to frustration, and then happy warm fuzzy acceptance. Janus still enjoys the chaos with his wine, because chances are he already knew ages ago. Virgil is having a mini crisis because he's gay, he doesn't like women, but he does like Remus, does that make him bi or something? But he was miserable pretending Thomas was bi for years. So much existential dread....that a certain dark creativity can shatter with a little wink and a smoochie

Why can’t I ship hannigram

What’s your problem with William graham why are you so anti Hannibal being bisexual

Have I ever said anything like that? No, definitely not. Raising the subject of "canon" in this universe would bring controversial reactions, I was aware of that. But the fact is that when we talk about "canon" in Hannibal, we assume that he and Clarice will find a way to each other in the end. That's not the wishful thinking of some stubborn SOTL fan, it's just what Thomas Harris has decided. Period.

I've never refuted the fact that Hannibal is possibly bi. In my opinion, he's a very complex character who can't be pigeonholed in terms of his sexual orientation. The book (which many nbc fans probably don't know, otherwise you can't talk about "canon" with Hannigram) hints on Hannibal Lecter being demiromantic and only feels attraction to people with whom he has built up a strong emotional bond. Many of his behaviours and characteristics point to this. And do you see what I mean?

Theoretically, this could also suggest Will - although his interest in Will is more indifferent and manipulative, while he actually builds up something with Clarice that many people can't put a name to.

To sum this up, many scenes and lines from the nbc series that are adored beyond measure by the fandom were originally material from the books/original films. Scenes from Hannibal and Clarice that used to represent female emancipation and empowerment in a world where women are mostly suppressed in her abilities by men. Clarice Starling is being sexualized in more than just one way in her career but ultimately it's none less than her to solve the case. Do I need to list individually what I'm referring to? I guess not.

TUA x Marvel Champions: The Patri-Not Subplot

They were all sitting around two tables pushed together in the Hotel Obsidian's lobby, both teams looking unsure of what to do with each other.

Well, everyone else was. Five had no intention of getting wrapped up in shenanigans. He just needed to make sure this didn't affect his family. So he was intently watching them eat breakfast, waiting for the next shoe to drop.

Then a guy appeared on the tables. There it was.

Everyone jumped up with shouts of alarm, chairs screeching and falling over. Everyone except Five, who just pointed a butter knife at him, Vivian, who might not be capable of startling, and Thomas, who leaned back with a rueful smile.

The guy on the table was a strange fellow. Made no sound when they landed on said table. Dressed head to toe in a stupid stars-and-stripes outfit.

"Hey, nice to see you, man," Thomas said. "Thought you fucked off forever."

The guy didn't reply, instead lowering themself to one knee to look Thomas in the eye. "Tick, tock," they announced.

"You all are seeing this, right?" Klaus checked.

"Tick, tock," the guy said once more. And vanished.

"What the fuck?" Diego asked.

"The Patri-not happens sometimes. No need to be concerned," Viv said.

"What is it, then?" Five asked.

Thomas waved his hands, "Well, we used to think that it was my boyfriend's internalized shame about being bi, given physical manifestation."

"Out of everything you were going to say, that was not it," Klaus said, looking around. "Can that really happen?"

"Hypothesis number two was that it was one of the Young Avengers from the future. Possibly Thomas' boyfriend," Viv said. "But apparently that has been set aside for a new theory."

"Oh?" Diego asked, "I'm invested now. You figure out what that thing is?"

As if on cue, the Patri-not appeared once more, standing behind Tommy's chair.

"Tick tock," he said, and vanished.

The speedster gave an expression both grimace and smile. "My personal death specter."

Chapter Ten: Truth and Secrets

After Harvey left for his debate, Martha asked Bruce to stay in and talk to her. Bruce hugged his knees on the couch as he looked at Alfred and his parents. “Please don’t say Harvey can’t stay here. I know he’s always here, but he’s—.”

“Sweetheart, we love Harvey. He’s practically family… And we have no problem with you talking to him about this because I don’t expect you to keep secrets from your best friend,” Martha interrupted. 

Bruce relaxed, but he kept hugging his knees and rocking back and forth. “What’s this about then? Is this about me forging Dad’s signature on the fast-track independent study form?” Bruce asked. Martha and Thomas looked at each other. 

“Why would you forge my signature on—? Hold on… Fast track is for kids who want to graduate early,” Thomas whispered, “Why wouldn’t you just talk to me about that? When are you trying to graduate?” 

“Junior year,” Bruce replied, “You didn’t know about that?” 

“No… Maybe you should listen for a minute to find out what we’re talking about before you dig yourself into a hole, chum,” Thomas suggested. Bruce hid his mouth and nose in his crossed arms. 

Martha took a deep breath and pushed her bangs out of her face. “The other night, Miss Martha came out of my bedroom,” Alfred reminded him. 

“Yeah… Mom was drunk, but it’s no big deal. She explained—. You lied,” Bruce realized in real-time. Thomas reached out. “Dad, do you know what they’re talking about?” 

“Yeah… That’s what we wanted to tell you. Don’t interrupt because it’s not as bad as you think. Remember how I told you Alfred’s been by my side since I was in college?” Thomas questioned. Bruce nodded. “He’s been a bit more than that to me all this time. We fell in love in Lyon when we were on vacation… And then we met your mom. It was competitive between us at first, but we all realized that—. In simple terms—. Would anyone like to butt in?” Thomas asked. 

“I found out about Alfred and your father, and we all talked. Thomas proposed the idea that we all stay together, and Alfred insisted that I marry Thomas to make sense of it all to the public since we were already in love. It wasn’t a matter of choosing who I loved more, it was about choosing which marriage proved to be the best opportunity for the three of us… And then you came along,” Martha explained. 

“Is Alfred my—?” 

Thomas shook his head. “We know for sure. Trust me on that,” Thomas replied.

Bruce looked at Alfred. “So, you were—? Why are you telling me all of this now? Are you guys gonna move into one room now?” Bruce asked. “Do you want me to call Alfred dad, too?” 

“Master Bruce, nothing’s changed. I have always cared for you, and I—.” Alfred stopped talking and gestured to Martha, who finally looked at Bruce straight on. 

“When you were born, I stayed in the hospital for a full two weeks. I was exhausted, and Alfred and Thomas took turns looking after us. 

“But it was the night you were born, and Thomas was in the bathroom. Alfred thought I was asleep, and he picked you up and held you in his chair. He sang to you. I’d never heard Alfred sing before… And then I heard him say it for the first time. He said he loved you. 

“And Alfred has never asked you for anything. He never expected you to say it back, but he has always been a parent to you if you look at it from our perspective,” Martha explained.

Bruce hugged himself with tears in his eyes. “I love you guys, but you’ve gotta understand this feels crazy. I’m not angry or anything, I think I’m just confused. I feel guilty for—.” 

“No, no—!” Martha, Alfred, and Thomas shouted at the same time as they stood up and ran to console him. Bruce sniffed and a laugh escaped his throat. He covered his mouth out of embarrassment, but he couldn’t stop laughing. And they laughed with him. 

Once he collected himself, he leaned forward and ran a hand over his face. “Three parents. And you guys are cool with Harvey hearing about this?” Bruce asked. “I guess it’s not as weird. It’s kind of punk actually.” 

“Huh?” Thomas asked. 

“I’ll explain it to you later, dear,” Alfred whispered. Bruce raised an eyebrow. 

“ Waitaminute . Can I ask something?” Bruce questioned. “You don’t always call Mom and Dad Master Thomas and Miss Martha?” 

“No. That’s part of the illusion,” Alfred explained.

Harvey lay on Bruce’s bed while Bruce used the computer and explained what he had missed earlier in the week. “No way,” Harvey whispered. Bruce nodded. “So, your dad likes guys, too… That’s progressive.” 

“Yeah, I guess so. I mean, I never thought about it like that, but I—. I’d be too scared to go there… It’s not even like a—. It’s not like a masculinity thing. It’s just—. Have you ever thought about it? What if like—? Say you and me for example. Say one of us had feelings for the other. Wouldn’t you be scared to even see what that means?” Bruce asked as he spun around in his chair. And then he saw Harvey’s face. “What?”

Harvey exhaled and flopped back on the bed. “Nothin’,” Harvey answered. 

“No, not nothin’ . You made a face. What was it? The scenario? Do you think the scenario is weird?” Bruce questioned.

“You do this all the time, Bruce. You ask a hundred questions and freak out over something little instead of just taking answers at face value. Also, Bruce, if I was gonna fall head over heels for a guy it’d probably be a movie star,” Harvey replied. Bruce stood up and flopped on his stomach next to Harvey. 

“Who?” Bruce asked. 

“I don’t know, Bruce. I don’t like guys,” Harvey sighed. 

“Come on. I know you’ve thought about it. Every guy has,” Bruce replied.

“You could literally not be more transparent in your intentions,” Harvey smiled. 

Bruce sat up and looked down at Harvey. “Huh?” Bruce asked. 

“ Huh? Just say you want me,” Harvey teased. Bruce hit Harvey with his pillow. 

“You are no Richard Gere. Now name yours,” Bruce replied. 

“That one guy from Angels in the Outfield. The guy with the nose,” Harvey gestured. 

“Adrien Brody? Now who wants who?” Bruce replied as he made a pig-nose-face at Harvey. 

“You wish!” Harvey laughed as he hit Bruce with a pillow. They wrestled until they heard a knock on the door. 

“Come in!” Bruce shouted as he held Harvey in a headlock. Martha opened the door before laughing and turning her back to collect herself. 

“What’s going on?” Martha asked as she doubled over laughing. “Mail. Three letters for Bruce. Two for Harvey. Oh, and some girl keeps calling asking for Apollo?” 

Bruce let go and fell back on the bed laughing. “I told you it’d catch on!” Bruce exclaimed. 

“Shut up,” Harvey whispered as he threw his pillow at Bruce. “Mrs. Wayne, that’s for me. I’m sorry about that. Bruce is trying to set me up with some girl, so I’ll go to the winter formal with him.” 

“Why don’t you two just go together?” Martha asked. 

Bruce and Harvey sat up straight and shook their heads. “That’s a no-go, Mom,” Bruce replied, “Mom, look at it from a vapid teenage perspective. If you were in high school and you saw two guys show up at the dance with no date…”

“Okay… Yeah, but you boys are adorable. Just ask the first girl you could think of,” Martha advised, “Don’t be so shy. Why don’t you ask Sandra? This is what? Your third or fourth letter from her?” 

“Uh… She’s not my type,” Bruce replied. 

Harvey laughed and elbowed Bruce in the ribs. “Richard Gere,” Harvey mumbled under his breath, and Bruce tackled him.

I know what you are thinking, of how I came to this conclusion, I understand how confusing the statement can be. But that's exactly why I'm making this thread so you have the benefit of commenting your opinion regarding this theory.

The idea came to me, because of a dialogue, where Johnny Cage mentions to Bi-han what his breath had an unpleasant odor. He even reaffirms it when he talks to Shao. At first I thought it was a funny dialogue, I hadn't thought much of it.

Until I noticed some strange things about Bi-han. Things that led me to the assumption what I'm doing here.

°°° First I analyzed how hygienic the character might be, for obvious reasons, I thought that maybe Bi-han might be careless of this, however I found to my surprise that the character this his flaw traits is "vanity". Being someone who takes good care of his image, he tries to be clean. And this is not an assumption, Bi-han makes clear his vanity with his own costumes, as we see that he loves to highlight the status in which he finds himself. Contrary to Kuai Liang who doesn't bother to wear jewelry or fancy fabrics, despite being Bi-han's brother.

As we see in the ending scene of Kuai Liang, where Lin Kuei and Shirai Ryu go to fight, we can see that Bi-han wears a pretty fancy suit.

So we can assume that being vain he takes good care of his figure, but then if Bi-han doesn't neglect this how can we explain his bad breath?

°°° This is where we start to question the eating disorder. And although it seemed like something that had no proof or foundation, it turns out that there is....

There are little things that lead me to see this as a possibility, starting with what is said about Bi-han's mental health...

For when Kuai makes it out of the temple and is reunited with Smoke, Smoke tells Thomas "That he knew Bi-han's frustrations were deep, but he didn't expect them to drive him to madness" here we realize one thing, and that is that Kuai Liang was Bi-han's consoling arm.

And apparently Kuai Liang knew or was aware that Bi-han's aggressive attitude was due to something out of his brother's way of being, that is to say that he knew that this haughty attitude provoked him something. As we see in the story mode, Kuai Liang does not defend Tomas when Bi-han comments on being an adoptee, and not only that, Tomas also does not seem to care.

This may be because Kuai Liang and Tomas have the mentality that Bi-han's emotional problems are affecting the way he reacts. And this we can see as true.

For when they go on the mission to deactivate the soul rodents, Bi-han has an aggressive attitude in Liu Kang's temple, but after fighting Nitara and Ermac. He becomes more sensitive to his brothers. He asks if they were well, and even adds "he is pleased to fight again after such a long time of inactivity"?

This "bipolar" change in Bi-han is certainly strange. For if he were the insufferable brother as he is so often portrayed, the betrayal of his brothers would not have affected him so much.

Now what exactly would Bi-han's frustrations be?

There is no clear answer, that is to say that we do not have a timeline of exactly what happened. But we do know about some events or things that affect him.

In a dialogue with Kitana, Bi-han is sad and even empathizes with Kitana's sadness at Sindel's death. She tells him that she blames him for it. This dialogue is significant because the reason for this is that Bi-han is affected by his mother's death.

Tomas even mentions her in a dialogue where he questions whether she would be proud of Bi-han being a comment that affects him, even Bi-han refuses to question this. And he comments that his mother would be supportive....

So his mother's death, is a trigger for Bi-han, as it carries so much weight that it influences his emotions to this day.

Another thing that marks Bi-han is being part of the Lin Kuei Clan and his frustration is due to the fact that he can feel the clan more like a cage than a life. A feeling that the original Bi-han himself had after being kidnapped by this clan. This idea of being limited or submissive creates doubt in Bi-han that he does not control his destiny. Although his clan was not bad, it should be noted that it is still not valued, despite his work with the land. Therefore, this lust for service is something that frustrates many parts of the Lin Kuei members. It is worth noting that it is not just Bi-han.

This collective frustration led them perhaps even to have a circle of rebellion. Circle that fell into the toxic because let's remember that "Dad would tell us to wait without protesting."

The idea that you might be being trampled on, or used, can be an idea that affects anywhere. For the feeling of wanting freedom is something that can drive many people crazy. For the perception of this can vary or even be misinterpreted.

Another frustration is also the death of his father, this because of the issue that influenced the death of this, do not know what happened. But Bi-han believes he was right to let him go. It should be noted that Bi-han has problems with his father and this may be because his father was very loyal to the Lin Kuei (to the tradition of this). For we see that the father has airs of having been straight with his children. So that these do not question anything, making that perhaps for the eyes of Bi-han his father was the main cause that there was no freedom in the temple. That is, seeing him as someone who had to be 3limin4d0 in order to remove him from power. So Bi-han was right not to help him at that time. Maybe he could have done something but the decision had already been made according to the moment.

Continuing with the frustrations, there is a theme about the power Bi-han wants. Here there are two things that I think are confused. Some believe that the power Bi-han seeks is literally a powerful magical power. And no, Bi-han speaks more of a higher power in the matter of ruling. For they have long served and never been promoted. Instead the Shaolin take credit for "defending the land". The greatness or power he seeks will not only give him control, or assurance that no one is above him, but it will also give him the respect he believes no one has given him.

Currently another frustration of Bi-han's is the betrayal of Kuai Liang. And this frustration is triggering two emotions, on the one hand there is the part that wants to kill his brother and on the other hand there is the part that doesn't want to fight with his brother. Even Bi-han can ignore Kuai if Kuai is willing to step aside but as we know Kuai won't do that. So Bi-han has the frustration of confronting his brother.

And that I think are his biggest frustrations.....

°°°° Now we know what's going on with Bi-han's head, we know that indeed, as Kuai Liang said his frustrations were deep, so we ask ourselves the question, have they affected Bi-han physically?

The answer is yes, and I personally believe that this led to eating disorders.

How can we come to that conclusion? Well let's analyze this...

First let's talk about the death of his mother, which to this day is something that continues to depress him. So we can intuit that she may have had a depression in that period of mourning. Being that depression usually causes people to not want to eat and their mood to relapse into a sad state. Let's also remember that this may vary from person to person but on Bi-han's part I think it is very noticeable that she stopped eating and had episodes of sadness. Episodes that may even come back to him as he shows it in the dialogues.

Now, based more on his frustrations, Bi-han would have a lot of emotions that would cause him to alter his bile. Which for those of you who don't know what it is, it is a liquid that is produced and secreted by the liver and stored in the gallbladder, if some of you have had a very strong anger, worry, etc. You will know that bile causes people to vomit.

More so contemplating the exercise routines in the Lin Kuei, as let's remember that they train since they are children, so let's add the fact that Bi-han does not eat in his mourning period, plus the frustrations of worry and anger. Plus the routines, plus the mood swings he is having and partly plus the power he has.

Something to keep in mind here, too, is the fact that the powers they have greatly influence their emotions.

So the ice power boosts their feelings even more.

This leads me to think that Bi-han in the long run may have developed an eating disorder, how is that possible?

°°°° We have already analyzed his mind, including his lifestyle and rhythm of life. But now let's analyze his physique. Has anyone else noticed that Bi-han is strangely thin compared to his siblings?

I want to clarify the fact that thinness although it is common in cases of eating disorders or behaviors. Bodies are not always thin as they are stereotyped in movies or series . Reason why Bi-han may have an athletic body but not necessarily healthy... to what we see. For these disorders like anxiety among other things, can have stages where the person relapses and then feels good again.

Returning to the subject, we can see that Bi-han has very marked his features, with this I mean, that the corners of his jaw are marked enough, besides having split lips and dehydrated.

Her hair is also curly, and she has acne on her neck and face.

Personally I love that they gave these realistic details to the characters, I want to clarify it, but under my theory or under this analysis the things that I described, as an "uncontrolled" acne, can also be features of these disorders. For this would be a physical reaction of the body.

Here we are not saying that it is a bad thing to have these traits, we are simply analyzing that they can be caused by these disorders. That is to say, each detail can give us a characteristic of the character and I find curious these intentionally emaciated details in Bi-han.

At first I thought that his lips and even his pale skin were due to his ice power, but I also noticed that these powers do not physically affect the bearer, they only do this if they reach an extreme level of power, which they don't have... Bruce Wayne Headcannons:

had the BIGGEST Dinosaur hyperfixation as a kid. This is said because I have read two (2) things in the past three days where Bruce mentioning relatives took him to the museum to see dinosaurs LIKE COME ON. He probably knows all about Dinosaurs and it's like a sleeper agent waiting to be activated in him, he probably saw Booster somehow bring back the Jurassic league and had to keep his face neutral as batman while his brain was clocking what each and every dinosaur was. This is where he finally finds some common ground with Damian as well in the early days probably, tentatively trying to form a bond with his biological son and the only way of knowing how is finding something that the kid is interested in and bring up something related to it. That's how Bruce ended up rambling about prehistoric ancestors of common animals for a solid hour in the bat cave.

Transfem Bruce absolutely wears pearls like her mother. Is it to honor and to mourn her or is it to keep up the act of a young socialite? It's probably both. It's probably both a comfort and a heavy weight against her neck, because in some sense her mom is here with her, but in another sense the pearls just seem to weight her down, and one wrong move and all the pearls could go tumbling onto the floor from a broken and improperly knotted cord and she would unintentionally have a recreation of that night in the alley way except this time it's on the marble tiled floor and the blood is only in her memories...

Bruce in general however I think wears his dad's cufflinks or watches pretty regularly while in socialite society. He needs to keep a piece of his parents with him he needs to. Their wedding rings are still in his room, untouched because he doesn't think he's ever going to find someone that he'd love enough that would marry him but accept the job he has to do. He was so close with Selina and Talia but those both crumbled in unforseen ways and it hurt badly, so for now the old wedding rings just stay in his room, not getting used but always staying with it's other half.

I think if Cass were to ever wear pearls she'd look so much like Martha Wayne that Bruce would cry a little. I think Bruce finds qualities in all his kids that I think he would relate to his parents even though they're not biologically related. it's small things really, like interests and certain mannerisms that shouldn't remind him of them but they do. I think each Batkid also gets a Wayne heirloom as well, I just don't know what it would be but the kids are debating it out and Bruce is just sighing and putting down what he plans on leaving for the kids.

Also on the topic of Wills, he does have video messages for the kids if he ends up dying. It's canon, but I think he personalizes them more and records them late at night when the kids are asleep or each one was recorded while he was stuck in the cave on "bed rest". He also recorded one for Alfred in the possibility that he died before the butler did... He misses Alfred a lot...

Which Martha/Thomas/Alfred polycule is canon in my heart goddamn it. All three of them were Bruce's parent and Bruce would absolutely agree about it.

Speaking of Polycules, my opinions on Bruce's sexuality depends on what would better fit a story. like yeah no that man can be Bi, he can be on the aroace spectrum, he can even be poly. I personally like to keep him on the aroace spectrum so he has all three As (Aro, Ace, and Autistic!)

Speaking of Autism!! He is so autsitic and those that don't believe so... Like are we reading the same source material?? That man has such a strict moral code, refuses to put on a Kevlar vest unless it's light and flexible, has struggles communicating and struggles with tone so that most times his words can be read as very monotone, literally has a very blunt way of saying stuff just!! Also I will point at Damian and say that Autism is hereditary and out of Bruce and Talia which one would you expect to have Autism hm? cause Damian is definitely not a neurotypical child!

also yes he had a fear of bats as a child, but I believe after the getting shot and having a bat land in his father's study that Bruce absolutely went into a major rabbit hole to find out everything there could be to know about bats. He researched what bats eat, how they communicate, Natural habitats, all of it. It even got to the point where he learned how to get the bats that reside in the bat cave to trust him and actually come and land on him because he'll offer them food. He has names for all of them and everything and the batkids lose their minds about it every time. Damian wants Bruce to teach him how to do this because this is Damian, the kid who loves animals to death.

Bruce is Jewish, not a headcannon just something I feel like people need to remember is all.

Bruce hasn't watched the mask of Zorro ever since his parents died. It brings up too many traumatic memories for him and he just doesn't know if he could watch the film again. That being said Dick or Jason (one of the two) when they were younger probably wanted to watch it one time and Bruce was just silent before Alfred suggested that mayhaps they choose something else to watch because it is a pg-13 film (Which is such a lame excuse to whichever twelve year old we're putting in this scenario but sure they guess they'll let it slide- Especially when B agrees to watching a horror movie that is so not appropriate for 12 year olds cause he was a little too stunned to think clearly. Trauma and all that whatever and Bruce is just so desensitized to horror movies now from his time of being batman.)
