“It’s all Polites’ fault” last time I checked Odysseus is the captain and should have known better than to just straight up let his crew and or himself kill the sheep without looking around that cave better to see if they actually belonged to anyone.

It’s not Polites’ fault that the cyclops chose violence (before y’all say anything yes the cyclops is rightfully pissed off but still it’s not Polites’ fault that he refused the deal and attacked them). Also y’all seem to forget that he helped in the fight against the cyclops, meaning he is most likely not open arms 24/7.

It’s not Polites’ fault that Odysseus and Eurylochus both kept making mistakes along the journey (like Odysseus more so explaining himself than apologizing and Eurylochus opening the bag or Odysseus sacrificing six men, etc).

While I do understand that Polites might not be a favorite of someone’s because his personality isn’t for anyone, I still don’t see why y’all blame him for everything. All he does is try to show Odysseus that they don’t always have to resort to violence. They don’t always have to have their guards up.

You say he’s stupid for this belief because he’s been at war for 10 years, yet you never stop to actually think that perhaps he’s just really tired of the bloodshed or that he was simply trying to cheer up his friend. This might be a shocker to some of y’all but you can be a warrior and still have a positive attitude and be optimistic.

Y’all will do everything except actually hold Odysseus accountable for his own faults.

It's so weird that The Astrals don't understand how humans work, AND YET they decide humans' and other beings fate????? Like, why do you decide the life of someone you can't understand??????????? Why do they think they are entitled to do so??????

OMG YES. Exactlyyyy. Also like I have a feeling they just kinda spawned into existence and figured that it must be their job to control the universe. But like maybe it’s not just them who’s supposed to keep the balance? It’s literally been said (I think by Gemini but also probably Taurus) that the universe creates everything for a reason. The universe created negative star power for a reason, likely to balance out the positive star power because everything needs balance. They claim to want to keep the balance but in a way are hypocrites because they’re literally destroying the balance. Also again, the universe gave Lunar (and Cetus too) powers for a reason. Who are they to decide for themselves what that reason is? It’s possible that Lunar and Cetus were created as balance. Being able to use both sides.

AND YEAH, EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE SAYING. They seem to think they’re all knowing and wise enough to judge people who they aren’t fit to judge. I’m really pissed that Lunar isn’t able to defend himself at his own trial. If anything, he’d be able to provide insight to why he did what he did. In a way that neither Gem or Taurus will be able to, because they’re just don’t understand emotions enough for it. And Libra is supposed to be unbiased, but she’s clearly biased against the use of negative star power. I think the astrals just have to stop treating it as such a bad thing and treat it more as another force in the universe. Maybe having NSP entities in their group would be good for them. Because they seem to understand emotions VERY well. Dude I could rant about the astrals for years but I don’t wanna talk your ears off 💀

I agree. I think I’m less sympathetic towards him than the average fan because I feel like even if Curly wanted to cover his ears and close his eyes and completely refuse to acknowledge what Jimmy did to Anya, there was still many alarming patterns of behavior that Jimmy demonstrated (i.e the intent to harm others in the whole ‘matyrs’ rant) that are not only ignorant but negligent to ignore. The fact that he claimed that he had the authority to take over Jimmy’s psych evaluation and then turned around and ignored such an obvious red flag like that was the biggest tipping point for me. I don’t think it was a coincidence that after that interaction was the moment Jimmy chose to crash the ship.

I came across a post (by @demiidevil) and they said something that I thought was extremely insightful, “What Jimmy did to Anya was the catalyst for everything. THAT was the point where he could no longer fix things, the crash was just Jimmy’s reaction to being caught.” and this quote has been buzzing around in my head since I read it because I agree with it so much. There was no way Jimmy was ever going to be ok after the events of the game, regardless of if he had crashed into that asteroid or not. Curly reassuring him otherwise was not just cowardly to me but it was also a flat out lie. And I understand that not everyone is going to agree with me on this, but I don’t think it’s good to lie to people and say that they’re going to be ok and that everything is fine when everything isn’t fine. Curly consistently respected Jimmy’s right to comfort more than he prioritized the safety of every single person on board the Tulpar, and that is the action I find completely unforgivable.

I’m about to start fist fighting mfs in the mouthwashing fandom because everyone likes to give me shit when I say “Curly should’ve thrown Jimmy in the cryopod when he learned about what he was doing to Anya” BUT NOBODY HAS GIVEN ME A VALID REASON AS TO WHY HE COULDN’T HAVE

So in case this wasn’t 100% clear for whatever reason my suggestion is that they would do this course of action *before* he crashed the ship when there were still (correct me if I’m wrong with this number cause I don’t remember the exact details) THREE working pods, not one. Ideally, Curly would’ve done this as soon as Anya told him about the abuse but the second best time in my opinion would’ve been when Jimmy went on the whole “kill everyone, leave us as martyrs” rant. I don’t give a single fuck what any of you dense motherfuckers say to me ever if MY FRIEND approached me and threatened not only my life but the lives of every single one of my coworkers I’d charge tackle his ass into the pod myself, or at least bribe Swansea to do it.

And like the thing I really want to get across with this entire rant is that I don’t think Curly specifically was an awful person for not taking the absolute most drastic measures every single time Jimmy said some fucked up bullshit. But I’m so so SO over the trend of people acting like he was perfect and there was absolutely nothing he could’ve said or done because Jimmy is this master manipulator who was pulling the strings the entire time cause I also think that’s also total bullshit. I think there were a lot of opportunities to recognize the red flags and I am so fucking tired of this fandom acting like he couldn’t have done something- LITERALLY ANYTHING to help.

me when Lance and Keith’s connections with the blue and red lions gives them a BOND *wink* *wink* that connects to their growth as characters. me when Lance and Keith’s discovery of the blue lion mirror Keith’s parents. me when Keith’s initial closed off persona opened up after meeting Lance and lances initial need to be a great pilot like Keith grew into a talent of supporting his crew (including Keith) and developing a role in which he can support the team without trying to one up someone else’s talent (sharpshooter instead of pilot), which set both of them up for their roles as the leader and his right hand man.

SO. Let’s start at the beginning. Lance, in attempting to find the glory he’s been failing to achieve, directly piggybacks on Keith’s plan in order to save Shiro because he could not come up with a plan of his own. These characterizations allude to the fact that…

1. Lance is incompetent in everything he’s tried up to this point. His dreams of being a legendary fighter pilot are crumbling around him because he simply is not naturally talented in flying planes. Of course, he could practice and work hard to improve, which he does later in the series (which we’ll talk about later), but after he became a cargo pilot, he decided he had nothing to offer. Consequently, he began to put up an overconfident front, really the only thing he excelled in. Confidence. Even though he had achieved fighter class, his overcompensating confidence prevented him from making sound decisions and overall improving as a pilot. Lance doesn’t trust himself to make decisions in a situation as important as saving his hero, so he used Keith’s already established plan to involve himself as a savior of his hero.

2. According to Iverson, the only major authoritative figure in lances life at this point, Lance is only a fighter pilot because Keith, the best pilot, had a discipline issue. Lance knows Keith as an amazing pilot that got him where he wanted to be. While Lance would rather do anything but have to work with Keith to achieve the glory he so desperately desires, he knows that since Keith is not loved by the garrison, so Lance can take more credit for the rescue. In lances mind, he got him where he wanted once, he can do it again.

Later, we learn about Keith’s investigation of the blue lion. He’s been trying to find this thing for ages and you know who magically reveals clues Keith has never been able to access before? LANCE. He enters Keith’s life and changes EVERYTHING. Keith’s search for the blue lion gave him a sense of purpose after losing Shiro and the garrison. Just before Shiro returned he sort of hit rock bottom in terms of that investigation. When lances connection to the blue lion guided the paladins to the blue lion, Lance helped Keith discover something new, something he had never seen before. Keith had been living the past few months or even years without doing anything meaningful or developing any meaningful relationships with people his age or discovering anything new. Lance brought a spark into his life, allowing him to use his talents to explore the stretches of space and help others. Yes, the other paladins were there when they found the blue lion, but no one was as connected as Lance and Keith to each other and the blue lion. Pidge and Shiro were more involved with investigating/informing others about the galra, not the lions. Hunk did absolutely nothing (ironic considering his character was never developed in the show to the extent of the others and was fairly useless to the team, unfortunately - he deserved better). If I remember correctly, it was Allura who said that the connection Keith felt to the blue lion was present in order to bring the paladins together, or rather Lance to his lion. Quite literally, the magical connection from keith and Lance to the blue lion (an exact match to lances personality at the time) helped both of them to discover themselves and live happier lives that ultimately brought the team and sort of the universe together???

When Lance became the paladin of the red lion and keith became the paladin of the black lion, their official roles within the team accurately matched the personalities and unofficial roles that they had finally gained through their character development. Lances early journey centered around learning he didn’t have to be the best pilot in the galaxy, but instead could be a pretty good gunman and a major support pillar for the team emotionally and tactically. The journey mirrored his transition from the “confident and friendly” blue lion to the “instinctual and fiery” red lion. The blue lion, said by the dreamworks team to be the lion most accepting of its pilots, typically paladins who it/she see potential in and intend to nurture towards growth. While the red lions descriptions don’t necessarily match lances personality because the descriptions were written to match Keith, its paladin must earn the respect of the red lion in order to pilot it/her. Once he becomes the paladin of the blue lion, the confidence Lance had been parading about became more rooted in his actual skills as he finds himself useful to the team with his sharpshooting abilities. By the time he takes up the mantle of the red paladin, Lance has matured in personality and skill, allowing him to act on instinct and match the role of Keith’s right hand man (HIS INVISIBLE RIVALRY TURNED INTO ADMIRATION AND LOVE). His acts for the team and universe have proved him worthy to be the red paladin.

Keith’s struggle with accepting his new role as the black paladin was displayed much more overtly in the show. Scared of losing Shiro again and feeling unready to lead a team after a life of isolation and struggle with people, Keith was extremely skeptical about becoming the black paladin. His journey focused on learning to work with as well as lead others and develop meaningful connections with his teammates. While keith piloted the red lion, he didn’t need to work with anyone because of the sheer talent him and his lion exhibited in combat and flight. However, Shiro’s guidance in forming relationships with his teammates helped him to use his strengths to boost the team. When he became the black paladin, keith had to officially adopt the role he had unofficially grown into through the bonds he made with the paladins and the tactical knowledge he used to guide the team. The “unstable” red paladin of the beginning of the show accepted and understood the importance of adopting a major leadership position, despite his own insecurities and fears.

Lance and Keith’s shared connection to the blue and red lions, their connection to shiro, and their willingness to reveal their deepest values and emotions to each other have established them as having one of the most powerfully bonded relationships in the series. Lance and Keith have been through a lot, but despite it all, they have always been devastatingly, meaningfully, and compassionately intertwined, to the deepest internal themes of their characters and storylines.

I think the thing I am looking forward to MOST with Helluva Boss is when it’s Stolas’s turn to deal with his issues and we get the Stolas equivalent of a Blitzø Sucks party and all the ”But Stolas did bad things too! And he’s the worst for not acknowledging that” come to the realization that “Oh…they were getting to that bit of the ongoing story that is currently in progress and is nowhere near done and maybe if I had just waited and given them the benefit of the doubt I would have seen all the clues and indicators they dropped that this would be an upcoming character storyline. Looking back it was actually very obvious they had not just forgotten and brushed over it to make Stolas “look good””

But then of course we’ll still get the “HA, VivziePop must have seen how mad we got and added that in just to make Stolas look better and justify this dysfunctional relationship between *checks notes* an isolated Demon Prince and a traumatized Hell Born Imp In Literal Hell”

So maybe I’m not looking forward to it.

Okay, I think some people on Twitter, hmmm

Why are some of them making this about q!Foolish and q!slime? I think some people are misinterpreting and assuming q!bad is being played the fool, but really, his grievances is more about being seen as a tool? Maybe they’re upset because that’s what their characters are going through? But they’re also ignoring other things q!bad did for said characters.

Sure he said some off things with q!slime and arguably pranks q!foolish a lot, but he also helps give them so many things, I don’t understand why people say he deserves this karma? I mean, q!slime did try to kill all the eggs before, his egg included. In rp, wouldn’t you be upset if someone did that? Q!bad usually tries to lean into rp whenever he plays on the server. He words were terrible sure, but he gave q!slime a full deck of maxed out armour and a backpack for basically free once, just because he felt bad for him. Even went on a little adventure to cheer him up. I understand that maybe q!slime viewers didn’t see this because it was on another persons stream and slime wasn’t streaming but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

He helps to take care of Leonarda for q!foolish, and this isn’t to say q!Foolish is a bad parent, he’s a great parent! But it’s just that, so many people are saying q!bad deserves this law against him for wronging q!foolish? Land duo are just different in my opinion, they know when to push and when to stop, and it’s their thing. Q!BBH pulls pranks, but never really with the intent of permanent damage or significant damage. They’re almost always easily removed. Q!foolish calls q!bad names and they argue but that’s how they work. But if you want to argue their interactions a little, q!foolish also does leave and expect q!BBH to take care of his egg. There was even a weekend where q!BBH explained he would’ve liked a heads up, and q!foolish just said he already kind of expected q!bad would do it anyways. And there have been times where q!bad would ask for some thank you’s from q!foolish, for taking care of Leonarda at times, to which they banter and it never happened.

But this isn’t really about q!slime and q!foolish, so I don’t understand why people are so insistent in bringing up Bad’s wrongs with these two people? When this is his grievance. Saying he deserved it for the wrong he’s done with these two, when they’ve also done things that contribute to the build up on why he’d be upset? I’d rule out land duo personally, because I like to think they’re the only duo that can mess with each other and more or less understand, but if you’re going to bring it up, I’ll bring up my counter argument.

What his grievances is really about is starting to feel more like a tool, the government issues, and his relationship with q!forever. It’s about q!bbh, so why rope those two into this???

They say q!BBH treated them badly, so he deserves this. Q!slime tried to murder every egg after Juanaflippa died. Did he succeed? No. Does he regret it? Ye. No harm done yeah? But he did try to kill a lot of eggs, and the intent was definitely there, even if he’s apologetic of it later on. Do people have to forgive him straight away cause the intent was there, even if he was grieving and upset? I don’t think so. If q!slime did the same thing recently, people would be a lot more upset, seeing as to how they reacted when q!forever striked Leonarda during an intense moment.

I guess maybe it gives people more insight on the wrongs of q!bbh? Hmmm… But it kind of just feels at one point that people just don’t want to hear out his character at all, and just go ahead inserting other characters to discredit how q!BBH is being fleshed out. It feels a little unfair because when slime was upset, people were happy to support him, even so far as having six people defending him (q!BBH included) for attempted murder? And q!foolish lore where he felt isolated because of the pac and Mike arresting and being stuck in the nether. That lore was okay, and is appreciated. Why not this one?

I just don’t think it’s fair to call it karma? When all characters are a little morally grey. You can have favourites, but come on. And then saying he deserves it, despite the fact he helped out those two a lot as well. Feels a little in bad taste.

But this is again just my opinion, I’m not necessarily the best, and if you’d like to discuss, please do so politely! And if you disagree, just ignore this post and move on

I think part of the reason people think that thrawns actions weren’t accurate or that thrawn isn’t really thrawn and “Dave filoni ruined him” is because thrawn isn’t the main character or even the main villain of Ashoka and therefore people haven’t gotten any sort of “real” context to his actions (besides everything we got in the show and rebels) because no one is saying “oh thrawn did this because of this” “I, thrawn, am doing this because of this” “I, other character, do not understand why thrawn is doing that but it’s thrawn so there has to be a reason”

Because it’s a fucking tv show, no one is going to say that in a tv show!! When reading a book, it feels normal for the character to ponder or guess at what the other characters mean when they say that or do something. It feels normal that the character is thinking things through on the page but thrawn is going to say out loud what the fuck he’s doing because that’s stupid and he barely talks to other characters in Ashoka anyways!

Go read an essay if you want to get an extremely detailed explanation of what someone is doing, if you’re not reading an esssay shut up about how you didn’t get the explanation
