I headcanon that despite being a shy person in general, and a little anxious when talking to people he doesn't know, Luigi loves oral storytelling.

At the end of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Luigi is shown talking on the plane ride home, eliciting laughter from everyone around him.

In Super Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Luigi regales his brother with stories about his adventures whenever you talk to him at Rogueport. Even though Mario and his companion will fall asleep while the story is told, Luigi seems to pay no mind and continue unhindered, (and apparently it was interesting enough for a journalist to be drawn in and spin the story into a bestselling book, so there's that.)

On a quiz on the official Play Nintendo Website, Luigi is listed as a good candidate to speak at a graduation because "he'd probably tell great ghost stories."

And in Super Mario RPG, Luigi is the one who guides the player through the manual, and subsequently is the one who recounts the events of the first scene in story format.

I think if he's comfortable enough around you to talk freely, he'll immediately shift into audiobook mode upon request.

Beverly knows she has to leave in a hurry, so quietly arranges for the contents of her small storage unit to be shipped out with her. She doesn't know where she's going, nevermind what she might need, but those boxes are the only thing she knows she cannot leave behind.

They don't hold much, but what's in there is treasure: a couple of Caldosian tartan blankets, her grandmother's journals. Items collected from her adventures on the Enterprises and far-off worlds. Awards that have punctuated her career in Starfleet.

The book that Jack used to propose to her, in what feels like another lifetime now. 

All these things she's kept safe for when Wesley might need them most. She knows too well what it's like to be left with nothing but memories of your family. To miss that physical connection. Something tangible to hold on to when you're far from home and those memories slip out of focus. Anchors to your past. 

When she eventually finds herself on the Eleos, those boxes sit in a corner of the cargo bay, unopened, because this isn't forever, she reminds herself. No need to unpack, knowing they're there is all the comfort she feels willing to take for now.

And so they sit, stowed away amongst crates of Romulan Ale and medical equipment, a noiseless reminder of everything she's ever known and everything she's left behind. 

That is until one day a young Jack asks to clear space in the cargo bay for something he's been working on, and her heart catches in her chest. For a moment, he looks so much like his brother, all legs and arms and boyish enthusiasm. In the same way a different ship in a different time had been the world for Wes, Beverly realises that without her noticing, the ramshackle Eleos has become the same for Jack.

So she admits defeat. The latches give way beneath her fingertips, and with the deepest of breaths, she steels herself to flip open the lid.

Maybe the time is right, and the place.

Because this is home.

Their home.

WARNINGS: (not much). no smut- just a playful set of imagines/headcannons — very fluffy and ‘lovey-dovey’ (small kisses and cursing).

- At first you thought he was joking.

- i mean- can you imagine trying to squeeze his massive frame into one of those tiny, plastic stadium chairs?

- sure you know nothing about the “Calgary Flames”, but supporting the beast either way is entertaining enough as it is—

- (^) literally the worst person to sit around. he’s loud, obnoxious, (big), and curses like there’s no tomorrow.

- “fuckin- can you fuckin’ believe these pieces ‘uh shit? i totally could’ve fuckin’ made that fuckin’ shot. buncha’ bullshit ifya ask me.”

- he’s definitely big on stadium snacks. constantly has to get up and get more food (and beer).

- (^) the bar would 100% have to draw a limit on the amount of beer they can physically sell him.

- probably walks you through the basic rules of ice hockey, and/or the different players, and the fan-favorites.

- little forehead or cheek kisses when he needs to run to go to the bathroom or grab more food.

- one of his arms is slung around your shoulders at all times.

- throughout the game, he’s constantly glancing over at you- reading your facial expressions. are you enjoying yourself? do you know what’s happening? is this entertaining for you, too?

- definitely likes to show you (and your jersey) off.

- (^) forced you to wear a Flames jersey (that’s much to large on you) and is proud of you for “pickin’ the right fuckin’ team”— so what? at least you get his undivided attention.

- puts you on his shoulders so you both have a better chance of getting on the big screen.

- (^) and if you do? jesus, it makes his whole month. the second that camera pans to you two he’s already tongue-deep into your mouth, grinning like an idiot as you try to push him away from embarrassment.

- you totally go to the photo booth and take the most grainy, out-of-focus pictures known to man together in some shitty ice rink backdrop, (to which he insists you look beautiful- and sticks the entirety of the photo into his wallet).

- buys you a shitload of merch, including one of the collectible hockey pucks.

- claims to know some of the players personally (he’s never met any of them outside of the rink).

- distinctly shouts out each player’s first and last names when cheering them on.

- boos the other team, and their fans with zero shame whatsoever.

- the drive home depends on the outcome of the game.

- (^) The Flames lose? he’s not even mad- he’s just disappointed that that was all his team could manage for your first game. he promises to take you to more, though.

- (^) and if they win? he’s already discussing the ticket prices for the next game (if you’re willing to go with him again); excited grins tossed your way here and there as he makes sure you’re paying attention.
