A lot of my lorre related opinions have changed since I've had this blog
The biggest one I can think of rn is that Polo and 'I was an Adventuress' >>>>>>> Louie and 'I'll give a million'
#peter lorre#i was an Adventuress#polo#ill give a million#louie the dope#its partially that ive come to find polo to be slightly more complex than louie#but also every time i rewatch IGAM i find myself a little bit more uncomfortable with its implications#idk the fact that its a silly comedy and so old made it easier for me to look past the anti homeless and classist sentiments of it initially#but thinking about the fact that the actual great depression was happening while that film was being made and came out#makes the fact that its about a dude whos sad cause hes too rich even more off putting than it already seemed yknow?#my second biggest change of opinion since starting this blog was probably my gradual descent into becoming a mortimer brewster hater#third was realising tmf isnt that good#at least for a bogey film#i still like the characters and how they choose to give us plot info n stuff#but id rather watch most peterless bogey films than tmf most days

My little #OoD Au hcs:
About the whole AU:
- Both are in the yakuza, Kenshi is the oyabun (the leader of this whole organization). This organization is spread all over Tokyo and every other gang is afraid of them.
- They deal with all types of crime except r*pe, because Kenshi considers it unforgivable, Johnny too. No matter how dangerous they are, they never k1ll innocents.
- One day, Johnny was in danger while leaving a bar drunk, and Kenshi saved his life. They stayed together and it turned out that Johnny suffered from depression because his wife left him. He was in Tokyo because of filming. Slowly, Kenshi fell in love with Johnny and started helping him in every way he can, so lovesick Johnny was slowly absorbed into Kenshi's fledgling organization. Everything was kept secret.
- Kenshi and Johnny are both very rich, so they live in a huge house in a hidden part of Tokyo.
- Kenshi taught Johnny how to help him run the business, and it turned out that he could also be of great use as an assassin due to Johnny's brutal fists.
- Johnny gave up his entire career for Kenshi. He disappeared from the TV screens and forgotted his name with the wider world.
- He also changed his name to Johnny Cage from John Carlton because of that
- Kenshi is not completely blind, but he needs Sento's help to see normally
OoD Johnny:
Backstory:
Johnny was an actor, he also had a wife who left him. After that, Johnny tried to move on by filming in new places, so he chose Tokyo. Just like other usual evenings, one day he got drunk there and got into a fight with a couple of street guys, who beat him bloody. Kenshi noticed this on the way home and immediately went to help Johnny. He took him home and started treating the wounds that Johnny got. He stayed with him all night, not knowing what to do, and the next morning they discussed what had happened. Johnny was very grateful to him and Kenshi insisted that they keep in touch. Months then years pass like this and Johnny slowly got into Kenshi's heart and then into the yakuza too.
Personality:
- crazy villain but still emotional
- He completely changed after meeting Kenshi
- He makes decisive and well-planned decisions, he is actually a genius
- Funny and always joking in serious situations
- Deep down there's an insecure John Carlton but just very very deep down
- He gets angry easily, and when he's angry, he creates a lot of drama
- He never cared about homophobes, he always knew that he was bi, a very confident and romantic person
- His love language is physical touch, but he is easily gets flustered when Kenshi flirts with him with gentle and kind words
Habits:
- Not a morning person
- he loves to bathe with Kenshi or just alone, I imagine they have a huge bathroom with a big gold ornate bathtub and a chandelier, plants everywhere. He thinks its so fancy.
- Definitely a cuddler, but he doesn't talk about it because it's not a badass thing
- He likes to party with or without Kenshi
- His fav drink is malibu with pineapple juice
- He also does the paperwork since Kenshi can't see properly, he also loves cooking
- Kenshi is usually very busy, so he also does the laundry when the cleaners can't do it
- He never makes mistakes when it comes to m*rder. He doesn't proud of it but he loves Kenshi too much to care about these things.
- He is very harsh with people, even his own close friends in the gang
Clothes:
- He likes the color blue, but since Kenshi's fav is red, sometimes he wears red as well too
- He loves fur coats
OoD Kenshi:
Backstory:
He never had a lover as he was too busy trying to take over the organization from his father. He didn't want to be a gangster, but fate wanted it that way, which led to the fact that he became the most famous among the other gangs. When he met Johnny, something changed in him.
Personality:
- He is so badass like a true oyabun
- He knows no mercy, only because of Johnny he holds himself back sometimes
- He is better with words than actions
- He was born visually impaired, he hates that sometimes he needs help he finds it annoying (but there's Sento for him)
- hates pity ofc
- Not very emotional, only with Johnny. He thinks that in a profession like this, it is better to turn off your emotions sometimes.
Habits:
- he always preferred showering, but he loves bathing with Johnny for hours (he has to because Johnny wants the princess treatment)
- he has been smoking since he was 17 years old. Johnny only smokes when he is upset or when he just wants to be in heaven for a while
- He slept like a statue until now, but otherwise he likes to cuddle with Johnny late at night (he doesn't have a choice)
- morning person because he has a lot to do every day
- If he's not sending Johnny to take care of someone, he'll go with his katana himself
- A very silent killer, everyone is afraid of him
Clothes:
- He loves red, even his mansion is red themed and fancy
- in love with suits
Relationship:
- At first it was very new to Kenshi
- Johnny didn't fully trust Kenshi at first because he thought he would just take advantage of him. But Kenshi quickly showed him that he could trust him and that he loves him with all his heart
- Their love is sometimes very chaotic and romantic at the same time
- They form a very iconic pair among gangsters, many people only refer to them as the blue-red couple
- They are ready to die for each other at any time
- Kenshi never thought about whether he was gay or not, freestyle, he just fell in love
- Kenshi is the more dominant partner of the couple although it doesn't show, Johnny likes to take the lead when it comes to discussions with others
- Kenshi was obsessed with Johnny at first it was almost scary
- Both of them are crazy but so lovelydovley
Angst:
- Kenshi is often very busy and doesn't have time for Johnny, so Johnny feels ignored
- Kenshi also has a hard time showing his emotions, mostly only succeeding in bed
- Johnny doesn't like being called a wh*re (only likes it when Kenshi says it)
- Johnny only had one breakdown where he actually cried when he had a big fight with Kenshi
- Kenshi sometimes hates the things he has to sacrifice or do
Nsfw:
- Johnny is a power bottom and Kenshi is a top, obviously okay
- When they do it its never meaningless, Kenshi likes to show his love for Johnny
- definitely had hate sx
- Kenshi often speaks japanese when they're at it
- One of the things that made Johnny fall more hopelessly in love with Kenshi was the aftercare every time. Kenshi thinks that this is very important even after all the aggressiveness
- doesn't matter where are they

HEAD CANON DROP because I think too much when talking to the SQUAD lol. This is going to seem all over the place because I'm trying to remember as I go along so. Also some of these might be repeats because my brain just goes oooo yeah that. And some of these pertain to other muses and you absolutely do NOT have to go along with them. If they go with other muses, it's up to that mun's discretion. This is just for if I'm NOT writing with that muse.
Anthony absolutely went to Catholic school. Italian New Yorker in the early 1900s? Come on. It's definitely also where he got a lot of his religious guilt from (see all my notes of his internalized homophobia). He didn't retain a lot of it because Henroin would pull him and Aracniss out of school consistently, most likely when Anthony was around 13 years old (that's a teenager and therefore an adult, right?) in order to train them in the mafia lifestyle. Molly continued with school and honestly that's probably a huge reason she got to Heaven (minus the fact she's a literal sweet fucking angel).
SPEAKING OF MOLLY. Because this is a huge part of my storyline with the squad. Molly is the MAIN reason that Angel wants to be redeemed. After seeing how the angels are, he really doesn't think Heaven is all that great (stfu I'm ignoring their finale about filling the hotel with sinners to be redeemed because if I saw Adam and his dick waffles coming to kill my friends I'd be like...fuck this Hell is better). He also still doesn't fully believe he CAN be redeemed (since Val owns his soul). But he wants to get to Heaven to see Molly. To at least apologize to her, because he knows his overdose impacted his twin and it was devastating for her to have to bury him when they were so close and for her to be left with their shitty dad and brother and he just...wants to own up to that.
Angel Dust does not want to be an Overlord. Ever. Period. I'll do a good Overlord AU (what can I say, he's hot like that), but in my canon timeline there's no way. Other than Husk (which I fucking hope we get Overlord Husk flashbacks or maybe it leads to some FEELINGS between them both because I know damn well Husker was a dick), Angel has never met a GOOD Overlord. He does not trust them. He does not want to be in that position of power. He does not want to own anyone's soul, because he's felt how awful it is to be on the receiving end. He did not ever actively choose to be in the mafia, so being the Mafia Overlord that everyone does in fanon just makes no sense to me. Angel has the MAKINGS of an Overlord. He is so much more powerful than he looks. But all he has ever wanted is to genuinely be able to be himself - power was never on his list.
Showers. Random head canon is random. But if Angel Dust showers with you, that means he has INTENSE trust for you. Because that boy hates his feet. He wears his boots everywhere, including while filming porn. BUT he is not wearing those in the shower (first off do you know what happens to pleather if it gets wet jfc). So he HAS to have his little spider feeties out. He doesn't allow ANYONE to see them, so consider yourself lucky if you do. This is also why I hc that he is super paranoid of Vox's cameras in his room and dressing room. Not only bc it means Vox gets to watch all his break downs (that asshole), but because it's when he's at his most vulnerable and has to actually strip fully (boots included) to change. Even in his own room he's still always wearing like knee high stockings or little fluffy sockies. Just in case.
Angel Dust has intense bits of mania. I'm throwing this in there as a psychologist. Honestly in that sort of lifestyle, it's hard NOT to have manic episodes. Elaborate spending habits. High drug addiction. Sexual rebellion. And then the crashes hit, which is when we see the extreme breaks in depression, the irritability, the tantrums. He will get fucking bouts of energizer bunny energy if he is in a panicked state and do the most chaotic fucking stuff that if he looked back on while he was stable he would probably be embarassed by.
Here's the whole DEPENDS ON THE MUN (I'm looking at you Plum lol) but my Angel Dust has purchased a lot of Valentino's guns for him. Maybe because he felt he needed to get even about Nuggets, idk. I love the fanon thought that Angel, who is incredibly skilled with guns, is who actually trained Val how to shoot. I think it would be a cute af bonding activity (back when they were an item not item). And that Angel would probably have bought him a gun once he thought Val knew how to handle it properly. (I'm going to debate if it was Money Shot specifically because I also agree with my bb Plum that Vox probably bought Val that but also like Val is incredibly protective/possessive over anything to do with Angel so....I could see both. Depending on my mood lol.)
Angel Dust doesn't eat pork. That's it, that's the post.
Angel Dust writes a lot of his own songs. I will forever and always HC that Poison was a legit song that played through Hell (maybe NOT including the last verse) because you can't tell me that black fit wasn't a music video. I also know Paranoid DJ is not remotely canon but Use Me Up is a fucking bop so. Angel writes a lot of his music, and uses it as a way to express himself and his feelings.
Angel learned a lot of his speaking patterns from Valentino. Notice that both Val and Angel have a 'voice' that they put on for the public (which sorry to both but is arguably fairly loud and obnoxious). But when they're being themselves, have pretty different voices. Not only does Val sound way different in the finale song, but we see how different he is when he's talking directly to Angel rather than his 'public persona'. Angel is the same. And I bet he learned that from Val, that a good celebrity is a complete act, voice included.
Angel Dust doesn't know how to read. I said what I said. Well, he does NOW, but he didn't when he first died. As mentioned, he went to Catholic school, which not only doesn't teach too much about reading directly, but he was pulled out constantly. I THOROUGHLY BELIEVE that he did not read the contract, not only because he trusted Valentino to protect him, but because he was unable to. Honestly Angel also strikes me as the type with undiagnosed dyslexia, so. He learned how to read over time, but he didn't fully know what he was signing. (And don't tell me it's because he is too dumb to sit and read that whole thing. He's an incredibly smart boy. He knows how to manipulate things. He wouldn't just sign his soul over without knowing what the fine print said).
Contrary to popular belief, I don't think Angel would initiate anything with Husk. He took the hint, he backed off. It's so obvious he's head over heels, but since their talk in Loser Baby, he hasn't really hit on him much by his standards. Kind of a ball is in his court thing. And then when they finally get together, Angel is so timid to initiate sex because he doesn't want to come off as 'fake' or just in it for that, so he just goes insane (see manic episode) until Husk feels ready.
If you disrespect the Italian language at all, he is so going to hit you in the face. This includes comparing Italian to other languages. He doesn't care how close it is to Spanish - they are different languages with different dialects and he gets fussy.
I've mentioned this before, but Angel is actually incredibly good at respecting boundaries. He pushes them, but he also knows when no means no. It's why we stop seeing him hitting on Alastor after Episode 1. As someone who has had his boundaries crossed and pummeled and consent taken away, he isn't going to do that to others. He knows when to back off.
Angel hates Travis. That's it, that's the post. We know per the pilot that Travis uses Angel off the clock (yes, per Angel's consent, but I'm getting there) for sex 'under the table.' You're telling me that fuckass works at the studio and hasn't tried to get with Angel multiple times? Thinks that because he works for Val that he also has access to Hell's hottest porn star? Yeah, fuck that guy.
Okay I thiiiiiiiiink that's all for now. Will more come up? I am guaranteed they will. But it's been awhile since I've done a good HC drop.

Do you ever have moments where you hate your favorite ship? (Another Oot Zelink rant - electric boogaloo)
Here we go again I guess. For some context: I grew up with Ocarina of Time. I played the game since before I could even read (I was like 4 for sure). I had kind of a rough childhood so for me Oot was an escape. Link was my childhood friend. I identified with him but at the same time saw him as my closest companion.
And well to little me there was no doubt that Link and Zelda were a thing. Same with Mario and Peach (SM 64 was there at the same time for me). Like it was clear as day to me. I was a child and it shaped the way I would end up liking my relationships. A hero and the princess. And I even ended up getting my hero in real life and he likes to call me his princess. We've been engaged for a while now.
So because I grew up with it, before I even understood what shipping was, it was more than a ship to me. It was my childhood. My reality.
You also have to realize that before TP came out and even for several years after TP was there, oot Zelink was also still very popular.
Then closer to today, we have things like Hyrule Historia and.... Zelda youtubers all saying the same thing of how the Hero of Time canonically marries Malon (which ... is still a theory. Like youtubers saying it's what happens and not marking it as theory doesn't make it canon) and the majority of the fandom treats it as fact. And okay, I get why the theory is popular, though I still think it should be treated as theory.
But now you have everyone going against you. Oot Zelink content is most of the time depressing tragic and painful content. What once used to be stories of love and peace faded out for the most part. When you write a fic about oot Zelink being happy together or make art about it, people will tell you 'but Link banged Malon' and worse things. Like I'm not here to tell you Malink is impossible, but I do think (and I will die on that hill) that oot Zelink IS possible. But then I get insulted over it. Hell someone called me the T slur over it.
I'm not blind to the hints, but these two are engraved into my mind. And sometimes I actually DO wish I could stop shipping them and wish they would stop affecting me. But they don't because they were part of my growing up process. Now when I see content about them, things like simple tweets or opinions or even just Oot content in general, it can put me into total agony. Oot used to be one of my favorite games and now just looking at it can ruin my mood and put me at unease. All the hero's shade content basically feels as If I'm watching my childhood friend die over and over again (which is whole different topic in itself) and all the tragic oot Zelink content rips my heart out. All this also made me feel unable to really like TP, which is a shame, as it introduced some of my favorite things.
What also hurts is, that as a child I really liked Malon. She was one of the things in my life that inspired me to sing. But this whole situation and the way several fans are has made me detest her. I try to like her but I basically have to force myself to do so.
I'm never going to attack you for having a different ship than mine (unless its illegal). But this situation is really hard on me. I wish I could agree with Malinkers but I probably never will.
Who knows, maybe I am delusional. But seeing as Nintendo never has and likely never will confirm Malink and has pushed oot Zelink (Oot 3d promotional manga? Approving of the mangas that push oot Zelink, which includes the TP manga? Miyamoto literally saying he'd like to see Zelda as Links girlfriend in oot?! The whole ending of the game literally being set up like a romance film with a break up and a reunion!?) you can't tell me Nintendo never intended anything romantic to come from them. And using this I still feel in the right to ship them in a non AU way.
But because of how the situation is, I no longer like Oot as much as I used to. It was once the greatest game ever to me and I still objectively consider it as such, but it isn't as it used to be for me. Sometimes I even wish It didn't exist (though that would be a great injustice to the world if it didn't), because it upsets me too much. I hate seeing my childhood friend die and not get what he deserves. I detest the tragic oot Zelink path (though I do not mean to tell anyone that they shouldn't like it - this is just my personal experience and I get why others like it).
I do like some other things that are tragic - I mean one of my favorite films is Titanic, but I guess I grew up with those things already being tragic (imagine Titanic not being tragic! A literal historical disaster!)
It is shocking how much a simple thing like a ship and a character's fate can affect you mentally. Things that are part of your childhood, even fictional stories, can shape you quite strongly.
So yes, sometimes I hate this ship. Sometimes I love it, but when I love it, I usually need to be far away from the fandom.
I wonder if anyone else feels that way about this or another ship?
#pixel rants#oot zelink#oot#text post#why is a ship doing this to me#this is maybe too personal#so I might delete#shipping is serious business#shipping is a pain#I wish I could stop#My degree is half psychology#so I'm sort of analyzing my own psyche

When it comes to the first Halloween 1978 and its immediate sequel Halloween II 1981, the two films are great on their own right. Halloween II (1981) actually ends in a way where it doesn't need any timeline films to continue the story of Michael Myers.
Seriously, after watching the disaster that was Halloween Ends (2022) and how Michael was basically pushed to the sidelines in favor of Corey, it's made me appreciate Halloween II (1981) much more. Even more so, each timeline starts out with a great first film--Halloween 4, H20, and Halloween 2018. And yet, each timeline torpedoes both the second and third films into something unrecognizable.
When it comes to Halloween II (1981), it manages to pick up perfectly where the first film left off and perfectly highlights what miscommunication can do to people, seeing what happened to Ben Tramer. The fact that it takes place in a hospital with dark shadows and lighting also scores massive points with me. The whole time Michael was in the hospital, I felt goosebumps and even was on the edge of my seat as he entered the NICU with a bunch of newborn infants.
Now, when it comes to the twist of the film, in all honesty, I find the twist not to be as bad as people think. I find it much more scarier than anything else.
If you think about it, by the morning of October 31st, 1981, Laurie Strode was just a normal everyday teenager, concerned with her babysitting duties and frequently exasperated and amused by the antics of her friends Lynda and Annie. In her mind, everything is perfect--she has a good job as a babysitter, she has two best friends, her life is going normal...
However, by the time midnight rolls around, Laurie goes through some serious trauma: hearing her friends making concerning noises and finding out what's happened to them and the fact she couldn't protect them...
Then, this mysterious masked man shows up behind her, wielding a knife, and she has to fight for her life. Someone she probably thought would never happen, given how peaceful the neighborhood was.
Now, let's go to Halloween II (1981), just hours after her nightmare began...
Within hours of her nightmare first beginning, she has to go through being in the hospital by herself, and her parents can't even be there because the news of her attack is still very new. It's likely very possible that both Morgan and Pamela Strode likely didn't get word of the attack until the phone-lines had been repaired.
While at the hospital, she finds out the identity of her attacker and completely panics, her mind going a million miles in each direction.
Finally succumbing to her exhaustion, this is where I think her repressed memories come int9 play.
The first thing I want to know is, "Who tells this to a child? I'm not your mother?" That's not the way to tell a child, especially one with a family history like Laurie's, that they're adopted. For me, this somewhat implies that the relationship between Laurie and her adoptive mother was strained at the very least before the events of Halloween 1978.
For those who don't know, the Halloween Chaos comics does shed some insight about what happened to the Myers parents after October 31st, 1963, and it is nothing short of heartbreaking: as a result of Michael's trial, Donald Myers starts drinking heavily while Edith Myers sinks into a depression. It doesn't take long for Donald Myers to ban any mention of Michael. Something that's also somewhat overlooked is that Laurie was only two years old when she lost her sister Judith Myers.
Not wanting to listen to her husband, Edith Myers does end up taking little three-year-old Cynthia (this was Laurie's birth name before the Strode family legally changed it) to see Michael at Smith's Grove on a few occasions. This is my interpretation, but I do believe the reason Edith took her to see Michael is because deep down, the poor woman was hoping that seeing his youngest sister would help bring back the little boy Michael once was.
Not only does bringing her to see Michael not succeed, but one day, little Cynthia babbles about Michael in front of Donald. This man proceeds to beat little Cynthia/Laurie (who's only three at most) until she stops talking. This is when I believe little Laurie started repressing her memories of her biological family due to her father beating her, her mother's depression, and being emotionally neglected at just two/three years old.
With this backstory in mind, this twist becomes more heartbreaking if you think about it. In just a span of few hours, Laurie goes from a normal teenage girl to someone with a dark family history she was completely unprepared for, someone whose name isn't even Laurie, someone whose brother hurt her in more ways than her adoptive family's secrets ever could...
And as if things couldn't get worse, Laurie is given no time to mentally process this reveal and the knowledge that her whole life has been a lie because her life is immediately in danger once more.
Even more so, when Michael comes after her in the boiler room, when Laurie calls out his name, it's full of confusion and hurt, almost as if she can't understand why. Why is her brother hurting her?
So, while some may find Halloween II (1981) a bit underwhelming, I think it's a pretty good sequel to the original Halloween 1978 film on its own right and concludes the story in a satisfying way that doesn't even need the other timeline films to be satisfied.

Why do some people say the strikes won't be over until March next year? Like whoa that's taking it too far, neither side can afford to wait that long and it's starting to show
I haven’t seen any speculation about March personally, but I do know that it’s hard to be confident right now because we don’t know if the studios are being genuine about wanting to make a fair deal.
In fact, from what I understand the studios' most recent official proposal, while it did finally at least acknowledge the main points of the writers' demands, it used language that still made room for loopholes so they don't actually have to honor those demands in action.
While it's great that the studios are finally at least coming to the table to talk, there is bound to be some back and forth between them and the WGA for quite a bit, especially if the studios keep drawing out the process by trying to cheat their way out of this. Then there's still SAG, and as of now they have not been contacted by the AMPTP yet to set up re-negotiations. It's unlikely that will happen, at least not until the WGA is closer to making a deal. We'll have to see how all that plays out within the next couple weeks and going forward.
As of just a couple weeks ago, the Emmy’s announced they would be postponing the ceremony until January 2024, as the event requires talent to attend, although they obviously can’t during the strike. I’m guessing that January was the latest trajectory they could imagine, so they pushed it to that, as opposed to postponing it to like September/October only for it to have to get postponed again in the case that the strikes still weren’t resolved by then.
Honestly, I'm just at a point in general where I'm accepting reality as it comes. We should know by now that nothing is guaranteed and we're better off accepting that, otherwise we're bound to be disappointed regardless. I mean for fucks sake we're still reeling from a pandemic that is being projected to come back full force by the end of the year, with possibly even more cases than we've seen in the past. If that were to occur, filming could be put on hold AGAIN. And honestly if it comes down to that, the least of our worries will be a TV show.
NGL my brain can't even properly compute s5 happening because it's not in fact happening yet and it's been that way for so long. I think until it's at least halfway filmed, i'm just going to be stuck in this mindset of viewing it as a far away fever dream. As depressing as that sounds lol

if you're okay talking about it can you go a little detail about your break up. i am tryna get over one rn and i don't know what to do or how to react. no worries if you don't feel like talking about it i totally get it💖
hi anon <3 I put an undercut to not bother anyone with my ex relationship but I hope it helps you <333 tw: abusive relationship, suicidal thoughts, mentions of suicide
I honestly want to talk about it but at the same time, I don't wanna be the person who CONSTANTLY talks about their ex (though my therapist told me it was okay to talk about it since it's a new thing).
We'd been together for 5 years and in those 5 years, he emotionally abused me. I was told by my previous therapist that he was abusive but it's a very... sudden and intrusive almost information. Your lover, the one with whom you wanted to marry, and someone says he's abusive. It's not an easy thing to accept. But even before that, I could see signs, I'd stumble upon other people's posts/videos and be like "they're describing him? no, it can't be..." so it was a painful process.
You may ask "Sun, why did you put up with him for 5 years?" and the best answer was given by my therapist: "He'd given you a cup of water with a drop of poison every day. And now you're watching the footage of that day thinking 'The water did taste funny! Why didn't I realize this earlier?' but it's impossible to know when you're actively in that situation."
I've stayed because I loved him, believed that he loved me and he did actually love me. This doesn't excuse the fact that he's abusive. (Here goes the anger stage of grief~~) He had diminished my self worth slowly but surely, made sure I was being more insecure while feeding me the "I made you more confident," lie, praised himself and belittled me, my traumas and my struggles. He made me believe that I was abuısive, sexist, unsuccessful, ungrateful, selfish, etc. He even said "All you do is lay down all day, you can do your assignments. Had it been me in your situation, I'd still be on top of my classes with 3.50+ GPA," while I was recovering from my leg surgery. He told me this when I was trembling from the pain. I couldn't even breathe from the pain some days, let alone sleep, eat or anything. And amid all this, I was depressed so much so that I attempted and was fortunately saved by my cat <3
He would start fights or escalate the fights I started and would disappear for HOURS. One of those days he told me "you'll start appreciating me when I'm gone," and again, disappeared for hours and I had to call the police to which he responded with "i have enough shit to deal with and now I have to deal with the shit you caused." Same thing happened again and that's when I decided to break up.
These are just a fraction of what he'd said. And, as my best friend said, good riddance. I'm so glad I'm no longer with him.
I fortunately have a great support system. My mom, my family, my best friends and my therapist help a lot. Plus, I'm currently working and that's a good distraction too!
I honestly don't know how your relationship was, how you two broke up but I'm hoping it wasn't like mine. If you want to talk, find people who'll listen and won't judge you. Find friends who'll support you regardless of what happened between you and your partner. It is okay to talk, to want to scream, to cry. You're going through the stages of grief, just like I am and it's health!
While you're grieving, do not, DO NOT hurt or ignore yourself. Do not be angry at yourself. Take care of yourself, regularly shower, brush your teeth, do your skincare routine even when these things feel like a chore. One thing that helps me a lot is to pretend like I'm a youtube who's filming their skincare routine, shower routine, dental care routine etc. It's fun and motivating. You can even film yourself while doing those things!
If you don't have anyone to talk, write. Write about it on tumblr, on twitter, on reddit, anywhere you feel comfortable with. If you don't want it on the internet, write on a paper, keep it or throw it away. But don't hurt yourself. Don't be angry with yourself and don't ignore yourself.
I hope you feel better soon! Break ups are messy and hurtful even when they're not as messy/hurtful. It's going to be okay! I promise <3 Now drink some water, eat chocolate and watch your comfort show/movie! You're doing amazing!!

Okay I'm trying to be chill about the fact my computers busted and I can't edit sooo here's my favorite horror films I watched in 2023!! So far, at least, I'll update if I find some more great ones in the next month. These are in no particular order.
Talk To Me (2023) LOVED IT. I was genuinely really really stressed while watching it. Honestly give me a character I like and put them through the ringer and I will be invested. I REALLY wanted Riley to make it. I know some people don't like the end but I did. It's a very existential and depressing ending but I thought it was fitting.
Sissy (2022) This is a super super underrated movie. Barely any discussion of it all online. I thought it was incredible; it perfectly nailed what it feels like to be in a social situation you know you don't belong in. I felt called out several times. Cecilia is a really fascinating character too, and I loved the social media aspect.
Creep 2 (2017) I couldn't believe how into this movie I was. It's basically just two really weird characters manipulating each other (with one being way way way more successful than the other) and it's so wild to watch. I liked the first Creep but the relationship here was so fascinating. I almost feel like this movie would have been better as a standalone bc we as the audience know that Aaron is a serial killer. It would be fascinating to be like Sara and not know for sure. Either way though, I loved it, I hope they make a third one.
Terrifier 2 (2022) Dude I LOVED this movie!! Controversial opinion maybe but I thought it was fantastic. Sienna is such an amazing character, Art the Clown was on his A game. I weirdly resonated with the family stuff (i got emotional at points) The special effects were great. I know it has a reputation. And it has earned that reputation. I have found no one I can comfortably show this movie to that I trust isn't going to be horribly traumatized. Which sucks bc when I saw this in theaters I got like. Sexually harassed. And I dont want it to happen when I see the third one. I wish I had a buddy I could take. But regardless every time I watch it I have a blast, and I really wanna make a video discussing this series soon bc I have so many thoughts!!
Halloween (1978) Yeah everyone was right this movie is awesome. I'm totally going to add it to my halloween watchlist every year.
Candyman (1993) Yeah again it's really really good, everyone was right lol. Really dragging my feet on the remake bc honestly this movie is basically perfect.
Cube (1997) I always thought I'd like Cube. And I did. It's really weird and psychological and cool. I watched it like 11 months ago so I don't feel like I have a lot to say right now, but I just remember how much I was invested while watching it and how much I gushed about it after I finished.
Deadstream (2022) Honestly this was most fun I had with a movie all year. I was dying laughing the entire time. I've watched it three times and I sent the opening scene to everyone I know. It's just a very funny and very spot on parody of YouTubers and I love it
Fresh (2022) I don't love the abrupt ending but the rest is basically perfect. The levels of performance during the dinner scene OH MY GOD. And it's a really fun and disturbing exploration of how terrible dating is and I appreciate that a lot.
Hereditary (2015) This movie hurt the entire time and I loved it. Toni Collette's performance is the best I have ever seen, I am actually furious she wasn't nominated. Her screams man, they are haunting. Also really realistic dream dialogue I pegged right away it was a dream bc that's exactly how people talk in my dreams. This is a movie with a lot of layers and something about it resonated with me, especially after the terrible terrible year I had.
Midsommar (2019) I vibed with this one hardcore. I think its just weirdly cathartic to see someone in a bad social situation get accepted while the person who put them in that situation gets rejected. Again because of the terrible year I had. But also its bad that that happens! Like its creepy how easy it is to be taken in by a cult. I also didn't feel the length at all I was very very invested the whole time. My friend Emily absolutely hates this movie though lol
Trick R Treat (2007): I didn't find it scary at all. But I vibed with it. It just FELT like Halloween, and some of the stories really really worked for me. Particularly the werewolf one and the one with the zombie kids.
VHS (2012): This is entirely because of the Amateur Night and 10/31/98 segments. I love those segments to death, I've watched them over and over. I still haven't watched Siren (the full length Amateur Night adaption) but I am so psyched they kept the same actress. She was an absolute star I'm planning on watching it entirely for her.
It Follows (2014) I know I can't keep saying I vibed with these movies but I did. I love the dreamlike quality, the ambiguity, the idea behind the monster is actually one of the most terrifying things I can imagine. Even if you get rid of it there's a chance it'll come back to you so you're never safe. Certain sequences were really really cool. Also one of the best jumpscares of all time in this. Like I don't even like jumpscares, they never get me, but this one did! Also I adore the opening sequence and how it's complete nonsense until you rewatch it and realize what's happening.
Infinity Pool (2023) I went in completely 100% blind. It was a wild ride that's for sure. I said "oh fuck me" full volume at one point if that tells you anything. Honestly I have nothing to say about the plot but the feelings this movie evoked in me were intense. Really good movie for someone who secretly hates themselves and is scared that everyone around them does too, I guess, because it captures that feeling perfectly.
#grace talks#Honorary mention goes to All Hallows Eve because those last thirty minutes are AMAZING. The rest of the movie is pretty eh though#VHS 2 and 94 are great too btw#I just like those two segments in VHS A LOT#Skinamarink was cool I just don't think I really ever want to watch it again tbh#horror movies

Fatigued by the endless “based on a true story” movies coming out that are just half-assed dramatizations of popular non-fiction books, articles, docs. I just saw the news about Taron Egerton starring in a movie about the story of Nintendo acquiring the rights to Tetris, adapted from a chapter of some book on Nintendo, and it’s just fucking miserable. At least that book is from the 90s and not a current thing like the execrable The Dropout miniseries with Amanda Seyfried (who I generally like in things). Like, I heard the podcast The Dropout, I read the news stories about Theranos and Elizabeth Holmes of which there were approximately a billion, I skipped the book and the Alex Gibney doc but those existed before they made the miniseries, I saw those texts between her and Sunny hundreds if not thousands of times on social media, what is there to possibly gain from watching famous people recite the same lines and act out the same details I’ve already seen and read over and over, now with (from the bits I’ve seen) glib, hacky screenwriting and editing that underlines every obvious punchline and heavy-handed “emotional moment” like it’s pre-chewing my food for me? Or the upcoming series based on Tiger King, or Inventing Anna, or WeCrashed, or any of these other unimaginative recreations of something we’ve already seen and read about endlessly; at this point, the restraint showed in just making two Fyre Fest docs seems almost impressive. I get the appeal for actors and writers, because it’s a way to have a “measurable” sort of display of your talent, since people can compare your impression/script to the real people/events, and applaud your goddamn lack of imagination in “transforming” yourself and mechanically recreating moments and mannerisms, but have audiences become so incurious and literal-minded that they actually want this shit?
That shitty Franco adaptation of The Disaster Artist was a mistake (I still think the book, which is much stranger and more unsettling — The Talented Mr. Ripley is convincingly made a motif — in addition to being way funnier, especially in audiobook form with Greg doing Tommy’s voice, and more insightful about movie making, is great); it hardly started there, but acclaiming a literal-minded impersonation and recreation of moments that already existed on film was a bad idea (like giving Jessica Chastain an Oscar for impersonating Tammy Faye Bakker in a remake of a documentary). And, while The Social Network was a much better movie that avoided the simple “imitation” move, it probably is the most to blame for the current trend.
This kind of shit used to be confined to TV Movies of the Week, rightly regarded as a place for hacks, has-beens, and up-and-comers who, if they ever made it, would later be embarrassed if anyone brought their early TV work up. It’s lazy junk-food, which was fun as an occasional thing but is now being shoveled at us in the guise of stories about “real people” as opposed to superhero stuff in spite of the fact that it still tends to have as much relation to what actually happened as those TV Movies of the Week. Some of this is streaming and “Prestige TV” collapsing the distinctions, in addition to everything shooting on digital whether it’s theatrical or television; the Tetris movie is for Apple+ but it’s getting a festival premiere. SXSW, which is by this point mainly a corporate showcase, but still, it’s depressing and looks like a creatively bankrupt dead end.

Hey! Just to tell you I loved your critique against that Achilles Song book and I agree with you that I hate how Greek (and at lesser or more degree Roman or Egyptian) classics are changed in a nonsense way just to please the modern reader and give them a progressive agenda to the characters.
Just for curiosity, what do you think about fantasy media that is inspired in ancient Greek myths and legends like Percy Jackson books or Saint Seiya?
Dunno, those were my faves when I was a kid (but I have not checked them since at least 10 years ago, lol), but, seeing how the Percy Jackson fans try to portrait themselves as all knowing about Greek culture, while actually not engaging in the classics and refusing to know about Ancient Greek history and culture. The Saint Seiya guys seem more normal, but I'm not sure if Greek people just saw the anime as a gross cultural appropiation like Hercules from Disney or they actually did not mind it.
An interesting ask to receive, thanks! And hm... I don't really know? I haven't read Percy Jackson or Saint Seiya so I can't comment. It all depends on the media in question - it's nice to see so many people like it, but our ancient legacy is kind of all Greece has right now. The economic depression, the ecological impact on the islands that's been happening, the fact that it's mainly considered a tourist destination for wealthier Europeans and the bitter state of the modern Greek youth - and yet we have this legacy we feel so connected to despite all the years between, lmao.
My family is from Sparta - a small rural village just outside it, actually - and so when the movie 300 came out the hype was unreal. Like King Leonidas is a cultural hero, there's still a monument to him in Sparta - they were making a movie about our guy! I saw it with twenty Greeks, all Spartans... and they hated it. They were yelling at the screen, they were so upset, and none of them knew what a Frank Miller comic book was. I recently tried to rewatch it and had to turn it off at the scene with the ephors and the oracle. Don't get me started on Troy, lol.
Otoh, I recently enjoyed Hades (the game) though I avoided it for a while. It's bright and colorful, the gods are strange and erratic, and it's tons of fun. Demeter grief-stricken at the loss of her daughter, Persephone avoiding Hades and Hades being angry and bitter - that was great. (I could go into a whole tangent about how people are actually erasing the voices and pain of ancient women when they woke-ify Hades and Persephone, but.)
The essential thing is this: the ancient Greeks were capable of criticizing their own culture. We invented philosophy: the art of sitting around talking about what's wrong with society and how we might fix it. They wrote plays - plays that won awards, that were preserved unto this day! - that served as a feminist critique of their classic heroic myths. Going back to the 300 film, while it's true oracles were often sexually abused, they noticed that was a problem and made changes to prevent that. There's this attitude people take to ancient cultures a lot where they think people were just... stupid, and wholly swallowed everything, and then they're gonna write their critique of their problematic beliefs without considering the humanity and knowledge of people who lived thousands of years ago.
You don't need to completely change the themes and meaning and significance of our stories, but what you can do is humanize them. Rather than hole them up in some white-walled Ivory Tower of Academia bring them out as they were - intended to be funny, intended to make you think - while preserving the historical context. I have dreams of making an Odyssey film (that some EU arts fund needs to give me a billion dollars to make. also, i am a legendary respected filmmaker in this fantasy) that would bring economic prosperity to the Greek islands and also make it /funny/, showing that Odysseus was a trickster figure who fit ancient heroic definitions of being a wild celebrity figure rather than a Hollywood Hero. Making it clear that his wife was just as smart as him and they were a love-match and making Athena buff as hell and swapping into a man's body, even making Odysseus black - none of that would be modernizing the story to suit our woke tastes. It would piss the hell off a lot of supposed "Classics" fans.
Ultimately, though, having fun with the mythos isn't actually harmful. What is harmful, what genuinely upsets me on a fundamental level, is how Le Classics have been incorporated into this great ideal of Western Civilization and then been appropriated by white supremacists. Here's a great blog doing the good work going into it in detail, but twisting ancient culture to fit your own modern ideals is just.... not good for anyone, lol.
EDIT: ...In my last post I was like "why is tumblr recommending me eurofash propaganda" and I just realized. Liking ancient greek culture and the classics is probably why 0__0

watched the iron claw
i think the most fucked up part of this is that this movie is actually the watered down version of what happened in real life. and it's still devastating as shit. great film tho really well acted and shot. i missed watching a modern movie with color in it
the fact that the paternal abuse was even WORSE irl and that they had to cut out another brother (who also died) out of this bc it would have been too unbelievably depressing for a movie is insane. like *that's* them making the father more sympathetic, and he's still hateable!!! like it's such a huge tragedy and the fact that what happened irl was even worse makes it so surreal to watch. he exploited his sons' deaths.
also everyone acting went the hell off like. this is a really well acted movie. props to zac efron, he's really good at drama. like i knew him from high school musical bc i followed the films religiously as a kid so seeing him in this role is like....wow goddamn lmao
the brothers' actors were also really good, and i gotta give props to the parents' actors for like, making them so hateable but but with a malice that is like realistic. not really one dimensional.
also this is really well directed and like, i know nothing about wrestling, but the stuff looked good for me. the way they made the era is really cool too!! really good stuff
also that scene at the end with the brothers in the afterlife killed me. anyways it's a really really good film, it's good to watch drama every once in a while

Dreadful Pie Research and Links Part 1:
1: Intro to Sweeney Todd and the Penny Dreadful
The story is about how Sweeney Todd enacts his revenge on Judge Turpin for getting him arrested and stealing his child away just because he was married to the women he had a crush on. He meets Mrs Lovett after he arrived back home from being released from prison. He decides to take a different name so that no one will recognise him, that being Benjamin Barker. Her pies were really bad then and so Sweeney Todd was soon helping her out, he took the room above which was where he used to live with his wife and child. He turned into a barbers, a bit later he finally meets Judge Turpin to give him a shave he was close to having his revenge but got interrupted. Turpin then left and Sweeney got very angry as he was so close to what he wanted.
He then decided that a way to help get a supply of meat for Mrs Lovett would be to kill his customers. They got a supply of meat and many people started to come to Mrs Lovett's store, as they turned out to be delicious. No one knew only Sweeney + Lovett, but there was a women who was known to be 'crazy' as she suspected something going on because of the smell from the smoke of the dead bodies. Lovett kept on chasing her away when she would come to the building as she didn't want to go out of business. Later on we learn the women is actually Sweeney's wife, which Lovett told earlier that she had taken poison a while after Sweeney had gone to prison as she became depressed. Instead of her dying it just made her brain go a bit mad.
A lot happens after that but in the end Sweeney gets his revenge on Turpin, Sweeney's child escaped from Turpin, Sweeney accidentally killed his wife and then Mrs Lovett out of anger from not telling him the truth about his wife, and then the child they took in earlier killed Sweeney.
(The reason I don't want to write another paragraph of the whole story is because this post would be too long and this slightly feels like pirating).
2: Human Pies by Ashley Newman & Andrew Fuller
Ashley is a special effects artist whilst Andrew is a baker.
3: Mina Lima
4: Victorian Street Food
Jellied eels were not only a traditional English dish but also was known in Nordic countries.
They are made of 2 ingredients being eels and spiced stock. Eel pie was famous with mash its special green sauce which was known as liquor and drizzled with chilli vinegar.
Both of these dishes were for the working class.
Victorian London - Food and Drink - Fast Food and Food sold on streets - buns
5: History of Pies
Pies were invented in Egypt, the first recipe for one was for a chicken pie. The people who discovered the tablet of the recipe think that it was carved out prior to the 2000 BC. It was then taken over to Rome then Greece.
A shortcrust history of pies - BBC Bitesize
Pies are considered the national dish of England, the reason of this is because that we decided to try out new recipes with them instead of just meat pies.
The British pie – 10 fun facts you didn't know - Britain Magazine
Baker on Great British Bake Off admitting to putting fresh roadkill in pies
I do think that this may have been a good use a meat for him and maybe others when the meat is first fresh but if it isn't fresh I don't think it is a good idea as you have a higher chance to get food poisoned. I personally would not do this myself as I don't think it is a good idea.
6: Weird Food Experiences (personally)
In other places this may not seem weird but some weird foods I have eaten may seem weird in others. I tried dried mealworms or crickets that were flavoured cheese and onion. When I used to eat other meats I did have alligator + kangaroo burger once, (they weren't mixed they were two separate burgers had on different days).

8: Other Movies with humans as food:
youtube
Directed by Richard Fleischer and Snowpiercer food bar: Protein bars | Snowpiercer Wiki
They didn't eat their victims but also.... Burke and Hare, grave robbers and murderers
9: Other foods:
Sustainability - the ortolan bunting is being hunted into extinction because it is prized as delicacy and eaten whole. A French delicacy being eaten to death
I don't think this is okay, as we have already made so many species already extinct, instead it should be protected as any other endangered species and should have a law to allow for the number of its species to grow back. We have the same problem with cod and other fish as some are being over-fished. This shouldn't happen to other species either.
10: SCI-FI Films:
Mos Espa is one of the cities on the outer rime of Tatoonie. It's a vast shopping area which you could find various fruits, meats and beverages. The main three places known in Mos Espa are Gragra's gorgmonger booth, Akim's Munch outdoor café and Jira's fruits stall.
The troll market set was made in a Hungarian mine cave. It was made into a vibrant and busy environment. Many of the characters from the show are unique in their own was as either facial structure or body structure have been proportioned in many different ways, which make them very different from humans whilst is the main aim of it. Out of these characters I find the organ grinder quite appealing as the were made to be the same size as a human even though they are supposed to be smaller.
It was said that the mechanics of this character was quite hard as you had to find just the person to be able to get into the costume and then be able to more the animatronics of the costume too.
youtube
Ideas I got from this clip were that for vendors and sellers are protective of their customers, this maybe to make sure there is still a way that the customer will come back again. The coloured lighting used fit the settings of each scene as well, as the darker lighting with some vibrant parts fit well with the situation going on at the time.
11: ArtWork
Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities
This is one of the pages from his 4th notebook, pages 37A and 37B. These show some character art from Hellboy 2 and ideas he's had. I think that this is a useful way when doing this kind of work. As I've done this myself sometimes and I think it is quite helpful.
This is from the 3rd notebook, pages 22A and 22B. There a splotches of fake blood and symbols around some artwork. This sort of works like the other page but has more of an eerie feel to it, as some when first seeing it might mistake the blood for the real thing, instead of noticing that it is actually fake. Which in a way helps as it conveys many different ideas in many different peoples minds of the reasoning of him using fake blood on these pages.
12: Sculptures:
HR Giger was an artist mainly worked in blending human physique with machines with air-brushing and he became very well known as of it. Most people will know his work from the Alien movie, he was inspired by the creature from the two lines in The Necronomicon, as it was pictured as a metallic-looking freakish creature with an eggplant-shaped head.
(a more modern version of the Alien)
Guillermo Del Toro's movie Mimic sort of goes on the same basis as The Alien movies as it has a weird creature in it which effects what happens to the characters int the movie. In his movie though he uses cockroaches which are normal to this world, but they're harmful as they are carrying the 'Strickler's Disease". This way of utilising bugs in his works make sense as many people believe that certain bugs are harmful as of disease whilst some are but because they carry poison in their system to help protect them from predators.
The designs of these creatures is that the cockroaches have in a way mutated to the disease they are carrying, like how some species do when in a highly radiated area. Whilst the Alien is very much built for the planet it came from, but has now been transported to Earth and now has to adapt to the environments of the planet and the creatures on it. It doesn't really get any physical changes but I think in the way the creature thinks it has become more strategic.
The pricing of some of the works on this page is understandable, as for simpler projects which don't take much time will cost less and once more difficulty, time and materials are being used the price will rise as it should and it is reasonable. There are quite a few different designs used, as some are simple with being just a keychain of a paw from a creature whilst some are full-body characters. I think the methods used when making are close to what we have done with some of our projects but instead are more precise so when being mass produced they may have a silicone mold of the design so that they can stick close to the original project, as much as they can.
For this artist their work is different with the style, as it has a slight more cartoony feel to it than the realistic feel you get from The Monster Sandbox. The has been some realism in some of their work, which I think helps with the feel of the character. The quality of work is very good, as you can tell they have taken the time to make sure their work is at the best standard that it can be at. The scale of their work ranges in many different ways as they are able to make big figures to simple illustrations. Their paint work is exceptional as they have the understanding of how the paint will be effected by natural light and which pieces will need lighter colouring than other places. With outcomes they have made, each piece has probably been check to make sure it is at the best quality and from what is seen it is at that.
13: Tutorials

When making my snake head I did look at a sculptor on Youtube that I've known about for quite a while now. I used this video with helping my work, as the head shape is close to what I wanted for my snake.
youtube
I think for these tutorials as a whole, they use many different techniques which will help people depending on what they're making and what effects they want shown on their sculpture/figurine.

Elle, Why Are You Up?
Relationship: Benoit Blanc x Ezra Wayne
Word Count: 1.1k
Summary: Ezra comes home from his last press junket, only to find Elle and Benoit cuddled up while watching one of her favorite movies.
It was one of those days.
Ezra had been hard at work after the severeness of the pandemic died down. Movies were starting to come out more regularly, meaning some projects Ezra worked on years ago were finally coming out after being held back a year. So he had to go on press tours… leaving Elle and Benoit alone for weeks on end. They were fine as far as Ezra could tell. He face-timed them as frequently as possible. It was a little harder when Ezra was in another country and his morning would be their night. Elle and Benoit were getting along great, sometimes Elle would even go to Benoit’s office with him when she was free from college–mostly during the weekends or in the afternoon.
It was nice to see them bonding, especially with the world starting to open things up again. It was slow–Ezra didn’t mind, he didn’t need to go out so it wasn’t the worst thing not to.
Thankfully, Ezra was going to be home for a little while. His last press junket for a movie titled “Death on the Nile,” a crime-mystery film that he realized was eerily similar to some of Benoit’s cases. Interesting…
“So, you’ve had an amazing career with such range between roles–from being Agent Tequila in Kingsman to playing alongside Lady Gaga as Jack Maine in A Star is Born–so what’s it like bouncing around all these character types?” A question he got a lot, really. It was somewhat tiring hearing the same sorts of questions over and over again but he did want to be an actor. This sort of stuff just came with the job.
His answer usually went something like, “I think it’s fun. That’s what this job is for me, at least. I don’t get typecast unlike a lot of other actors. Which is great for me because when I started off I worried that I would be typecast in Indie or artsy films of being this depressed trans guy who deeply hated himself. Glad that didn't happen.”
"As far as celebrities go, you are far more mundane in your living. Is there any particular reason for this?" A different question, but a weird one all the same.
So Ezra would answer honestly, "I spend my money when I feel like it, I'm also not averse to spending it just because I can. My house–on the other hand–I don't need a big house. It's just me and my daughter," Somewhat of a lie but no one needed to know about Benoit yet. He wanted to keep him to himself for a little while longer. "I'd rather not have like five extra bedrooms I need to clean."
"So there's been rumors," Oh, this wasn't going to be good. Nor would there be much thought behind it. "About a special person in your life. Have you met someone?"
Ezra could lie… except people were clamoring over him online. He wasn't one for social media, he had them–apps like Instagram and Twitter–and posted occasionally when he felt like it. Elle was the one to bring "thirst tweets" to his attention. He had to admit some of them were really nicely written. Perhaps it would squash some of them if he revealed he did have a romantic partner of some sort.
"Actually, I do. I won't say their name but I have a… romantic partner I'm currently trying to keep to myself as much as possible." He joked lightly.
Benoit was such a treasure and he didn't even know it. There's just something so special about him. Perhaps it was the way he dressed so nicely for any sort of occasion. Or maybe it's the way he'd come home from a particularly hard case and still joke around and have fun with Elle. Or just… the fact that he knew just how to comfort Ezra when he was feeling sad. A light touch on his thigh and a kiss on the cheek and it was like the brunet was healed. Nothing hurt anymore as long as Benoit was with him.
"It's okay, darlin', you're alright. Breathe with me, hm?" Benoit would say, a gentle hand brushing through Ezra's hair.
Ezra might have exuded confidence and strength for the public but, in private, he was just as traumatized as Elle when seeing the death of Duke. It was hard, having to be okay and be a father for her while also dealing with… everything. Benoit made it easier.
As soon as Ezra opened the door to his house, he could hear the faint voices of Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Garner. Hm, 13 Going on 30. A classic. Seemed like Elle was doing the usual. A rom-com and some pizza.
Except he could also hear the faint sound of crying. That couldn't be Elle, she saw this movie dozens of times. The end didn't affect her like that anymore. Venturing further into his own home, Ezra could see Elle and Benoit sitting together on the couch. Elle was clearly still munching on some popcorn, bottom of the bucket while Benoit had a few tissues crumpled up next to him as he wiped his eyes. Not to mention the two pizza boxes sitting on the coffee table, open with only a slice or two left in either of them.
"This is such a beautiful movie, just the Razzles and the… it's wonderful." Benoit took a deep breath as he wiped his eyes. Elle let out a laugh in response.
She patted his back slightly and cuddled up next to him. "I know, dad." Elle hummed with a smile.
Benoit could be quite the emotional man. He got attached very easily to things which was not the best in his line of work. Half of his clients were now his best friends.
Ezra let out a light laugh as he made his way to the couch. He sat next to Benoit, pulling him into his shoulder. Elle smiled widely and climbed over Benoit to hug her father which caused both of them to let out a breath. Elle wasn't as light as she used to be when she was a kid. Either way, it was nice to know he was missed.
Benoit kissed Ezra's cheek as Elle cuddled up to his side, making Ezra wrap an arm around both of them.
"Missed you." Benoit hummed, burying his face into Ezra's neck.
Ezra let out a small chuckle, "I don't know, it seems like you two were having a lot of fun before I came home." He teased softly.
"Don't be an asshole to your boyfriend." Elle hissed, crossing her arms as she shook her head. Benoit let out a laugh at her comment.
Yeah, Ezra was missed but it was nice to know they'd survive without him. Benoit and Elle made a nice team.

He lost the Emmy, he is still a secondary Marvel character and the films where he is the lead are commercial flops// Hi, fellow anon! I wrote the ask you quoted. I both agree and disagree with you.
First off, him losing the Emmy was inevitable. Michael Keaton is a bigger name and has more pull. Those kinds of things are fixed situations. Seb knew he wasn’t going to win earlier than we realize. That being said, I agree with you that he could’ve had a better chance at winning if he didn’t do such gross shit in the name of PR. Namely, dinners with Tommy, weird, random pap walks. He would’ve been better off doing more late night talk shows (the Colbert interview was disgusting and embracing, so I’m not counting it) and podcast interviews. Talk to people instead of being spotted out doing elitist bs. I also feel like his rhetoric in the interviews he did do was very cynical at times. He was being passive aggressive about things that have happened to him, and nobody was particularly interested in that.
Speaking to your second point, I don’t blame him for what’s happened to Bucky. I blame the execs at Marvel. Russos, Feige, etc. Sebastian actually loves Bucky and seems to care about him way more than anyone in charge of where his character arc is going. It’s a sad situation, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s contributing to his depression. When you love and create a character, watching them get the shit end of the deal like that can take a toll on you.
And lastly, Seb does a lot of indie films. Those are typically, automatic “flops” because they aren’t reaching a wider audience. I’d argue that Fresh was great for him, and would’ve done phenomenally with a theatrical release. In fact, I think he should’ve leaned more into Fresh than he did Pam and Tommy. It was a better project, with a better cast and a first-time, female director. I’d rather hear him talk about that process and experience than listen to him field questions about talking penises while complaining about invasions of privacy (Mr. Pap Walk 👀). He gave a much better performance as Steve, though he was still a great Tommy.

Abuse of Children Portrayed in Film
I like to use movies as an escape from the harshness of the real world and one of the things that I have learned about in my education is the effects on children when they are mistreated. I have a Masters Degree in Developmental Psychology and one of the hardest classes for me to handle was Abnormal Development in Children and Adolescents. We covered everything from dealing with dyslexia and ADHD to surviving severe abuse and loss at a very early age. We had guest speakers that ranged from people who had escaped genocide as children, to individuals who had been sold into prostitution by their parents, to people who had suffered severe abuse from their parents or guardian. I have heard stories that will stick with me forever and that is nightmare fuel that I don't want to share.
Because of my background education, I take note of the treatment and behavior of children and adolescents in the movies that I watch. There have been many great movies over the years that have depicted the suffering of children and it has always been difficult for me to deal with. There are more well known examples of films that focus on suffering but throw in more of a "sometimes we all suffer, even the children" message that demonstrate that kids aren't immune to great travesties (basically any film about The Holocaust). There are also well known films that show children "coming of age" through hardship (Annie 1982, Oliver! 1968) but end perfectly. There is a more current series of films that focuses entirely on a boy discovering a fantasy world that was robbed from him when his parents were murdered by a tyrant (Harry Potter series). But in this list I want to review some lesser known films that show examples of abuse. Even after all that I have seen and heard, the following list of films have affected me personally for one reason or another. Sometimes the children in these films endure and overcome their situation in the end. Sometimes these children do not survive or sadly remain in their misfortunes. To me, this can make the movie all the more powerful because of the incredible amount of pathos that endangering a child character can add. It can also make it a heart wrenching experience that is painful to watch. Here are some powerful films in which children suffer and the struggle is one of the main plot lines of the movie:
SPOILER WARNING AND VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISORY!!! I AM GOING TO GIVE AWAY THE PLOT TO THESE FILMS AND IT SHOULD GO WITHOUT SAYING THAT SOME OF THE PLOTS ARE DISTURBING!!! EITHER WATCH THE FILM IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS OR CHECK OUT THE FOLLOWING SUMMARIES IF YOU WOULD RATHER JUST HEAR WHAT HAPPENS SO YOU KNOW IF YOU WANT TO WATCH OR NOT!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sybil (TV Movie) 1976
I just recently saw this film after I had heard of the story in my abnormal development class almost 10 years ago. It is the story of a woman who developed multiple personalities to deal with a childhood in the care of an undiagnosed schizophrenic mother. The movie stars Sally Fields and is based on a true account of Shirley Ardell Mason and her treatment by psychologist Cornelia Wilbur. The acting in the film is overdramatic at times, but it definitely reminded me of some of the actual old videos of Shirley Mason and her sudden strange switches in personality when she was scared or anxious. Dr. Wilbur used hypnosis to actually introduce Mason to her alternate personalities and she was able to recognize her disassociative identity disorder and overcome it. It still hurts me to think that this person was mentally wounded so deeply by her parents that it basically shattered her into pieces in an effort to make sense of things.
Leon: The Professional 1994
I mention this film a lot because it is a heartwarming story of an assassin teaching a young orphan how to murder. It is the breakout role for Natalie Portman and it is just amazing. Leon is a "cleaner" that lives next door to an abusive and addictive family with a troubled girl named Mathilda. The father gets in trouble with the mob and some enforcers come by and slaughter most of the family while Mathilda is getting groceries. She returns during the massacre and realizes what is happening so continues next door and pleads for shelter. Leon takes her in and teachers her the trade and protects her from the men who want to finish her off. The movie was written and directed by Luc Besson and stars Jean Reno, Gary Oldman, and Natalie Portman. The suffering that this girl endures because of her parent's addictions hurts me, yet I have seen and enjoyed this film many times. I recommend watching when in the mood to be deeply affected by the trials of a little girl and the killer who protected her.
Kids 1995
This film came out when I was early in high school and bothered me greatly. It is a story by Harmony Korine, and one of his many attempts to capture the hopeless lives of unmotivated and unsupervised teens. These are young teens having unprotected sex, stealing money to do drugs, and attacking people in the park. I did not really go to these kinds of parties when I was that age (or ever really) and it has bothered me to think that adolescents would partake in this kind of behavior. It is hard for me to believe that these kids had the ability to mentally comprehend the consequences of their actions and some of the characters end up contracting HIV from each other. I would not recommend the film because it is a depressing day in the life that no youth should have.
Gummo 1997
I would not call this a good movie and I wouldn't really recommend it. It is another work by Harmony Korine and really details the depravity that can occur with unsupervised youths living in low socio-economic conditions. This movie is just depressing and motivated me to find something to motivate me into action. I got into both psychology and teaching, which has served me well for the past 20 years. It was this film that showed me how low the bar for quality of life could be, and I guess for that I am thankful. However, I still wouldn't recommend it.
Happiness 1998
This movie I didn't see right away but noticed it at the video store on many occasions. I final watched it when I was about 25 on the recommendation of a friend and one particular storyline greatly disturbed me. It is basically the story of 3 sisters that feel they should be happy and project a face of happiness, yet they are miserable and have horrible lives. One sister in particular is married to a psychiatrist who turns out to be a pedophile that rapes the friends of his young son. At one point rather early on in the movie, this man confesses to his son that he raped the boy's friends and that he would do it again. The son is so confused that he asks his father why he never raped him. It is so disturbing to me because I know the boys that were assaulted will be forever damaged and this boy who was not actually raped will be mentally scarred as well. The fact that there are people in the world that would harm children that way, recognize what they had done, and then know they didn't have the self control to stop themselves from doing it again is horrifying to me.
Lilya 4-Ever 2002
This film is deeply disturbing and I highly recommend never watching it. I will spoil it for you now so you never have to see it if you don't want. A 16-year-old girl named Lilya lives with her mother. The mom gets a boyfriend and the couple move to America and abandons Lilya with a neglectful aunt. The aunt movies into the old apartment of her sister and Lilya is forced to move out and become a prostitute to make money. A boy comes along and convinces her to move to Sweden to escape her life. When they arrive, this boy sells her to a pimp and she becomes a teenage sex slave. She almost escapes, but is then captured and beaten almost to death. She escapes again and this time commits suicide so she won't be recaptured. This movie is awful and changed my mind about giving every film a chance. I wish I could forget this film, but I can't. Perhaps it is just not for me, but this film presentation is definitely an experience that you won't soon forget.
The Kite Runner 2007
I read this book in my twenties and saw the film in my thirties and both affected me greatly. A well-to-do boy and his friend are in a kite battle competition and the friend is beaten and raped when he goes to retrieve a fallen kite. The well-to-do boy denies knowing what happened to his friend (he does know) and basically shames and abandons him. This action haunts the well-to-do boy for the rest of his life. How the boy who was raped is basically falling prey to blaming the victim is heartbreaking, and the lifetime of guilt of the other boy is pitiable. Neither boy was the actual attacker yet they both were the ones that suffered.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are many other examples of movies along these lines and could be found if you feel like suffering. I can't say that I would recommend them because they are very difficult to watch. Beyond just dealing with the content, it is rare to find child actors who can actually portray somebody who has truly suffered. The mix of bad acting and a depressing plot can make for a terrible movie going experience. The genre of movie involving suffering does exist, though, and it could be enjoyed (?) by some. Just not generally by me.

the great adventures of y/n tommy wilbur and george - the water olympics
requested:yes/no
part 9 to the great adventures series
warnings: cursing, a suicide joke (the one george made in the vlog)
you were currently sat in your bedroom editing a video for your youtube channel however someone had different plans as you heard your parents talking to someone telling them you were in your room and that they could go straight up
“Y/N ITS ME CAN I COME IN”
you laughed before getting up placing your laptop on your desk before opening your door letting your friend inside.
“what is it with people randomly showing up where I live”
“ill have you know I asked your parents”
“Pfft yeah okay Tommy sure you did. anyway I’m glad you’re here editing was beginning to make me want to throw my laptop”
“you are honestly so dramatic pass us your laptop I’ll edit for you if you let me stay the night as it’s about to rain”
“you brought a backpack with you...you clearly planned on staying the night anyway but yes it’s a deal”
Tommy laughed before sitting on your bed waiting for you to bring the laptop over and sit next to him keeping him entertained as he edits for you. it was around late afternoon when he finished editing the video and you spent the entire time telling him about your merch plans and getting the sizes and items he’s going to want as you were planning on sending him some when you’ve agreed on a final design and products
“all done I want full credit for editing”
“hey I edited like a whole 3 minutes of the video..fine fine just stop staring at me like that”
the two of you realised it was a little late and neither of you wanted to cook anything so decided to go to a local restaurant. a few hours later you arrived back home it was pretty late now so your parents had gone to bed so you had to keep reminding each other not to yell, once in your room the pair of you collapsed onto your bed, you rolled over to face Tommy
“So why are you actually here huh, what’s going on in that mind of yours”
“I know it’s short notice but tomorrow afternoon would you like to go to this inflatable water course with me will and George”
“I don’t have anything else to do so I’d be more than happy to come with you guys what time do we need to be awake, we may as well set an alarm now in case we fall asleep as I tend to sleep in really late”
“I’ve got it don’t worry about it”
Tommy set an alarm as you logged into Disney plus so you and Tommy could watch tv for a while before deciding on sleeping arrangements, you put on the good dinosaur and instantly regret that decision as you began ranting to Tommy about how the films depressing. soon enough the pair of you fell asleep.
at 9 am Tommy's alarm went off waking the pair of you up
“y/n get up we’re going to a lake”
“Okay okay I’m up”
Tommy went to the bathroom to get ready so you could get ready in your room a few minutes later you both made your way downstairs grabbing a snack you could eat whilst you waited for your taxi to arrive. the pair of you arrived at the lake first, George arrived next and that’s when you noticed Wilbur show up and George beginning to record what’s happening
“Tommy is he wearing a suit?” you tilted your head to the left as Wilbur stepped out of the car
“it worked George”
“Why are you wearing a suit?”
“for the meal”
“we’re not doing the restaurant”
your eyes widened and you tried to hide your laughter as Tommy said he couldn’t change as he only hired three wetsuits, you all made your way to get your wetsuits, Wilbur reluctantly following you all as soon as you all stepped in several people began to stare at you all
“they’re staring at me because I’m wearing a suit”
George laughed before telling him it could also be because your hair was awfully similar to a highlight. you lightly hit his shoulder before rolling your eyes
“rude”
you laughed as you went away to get changed returning a few moments later
“I’m ready boys oh they gave will a life jacket”
“Why do you sound so disappointed”
“you not a fan of drowning then?”
“no, I’m not!”
Tommy grabbed your hand and ran towards the water before jumping in taking you down with him
“TOMMY I HATE YOU”
“HELP ME”
“NO SUFFER”
soon enough will and George made it onto the inflatable, Tommy tried to film his intro however the fact you and George were jumping in the background made it rather difficult. Tommy ran to Wilbur who pushed him into the water
“HA GET FUCKED”
you made your way across but saw Tommy in the water making you laugh which made you fall in the water too
“well hello again y/n”
“Hello Tommy funny seeing you here”
George managed to help you up whilst Wilbur pretended to help Tommy up before walking away. Tommy just held onto the inflatable whilst looking at you
“fine”
you reached your hand out and helped him back up onto the inflatable.
you made your way across the bridge Wilbur not far behind you so he could push Tommy off of the bridge into the water, he did but fell with him, you fell over laughing as George went to help Wilbur but ended up falling in himself. you George and Tommy ran to a high point of the course which will wanted you all successfully defended it and even managed to push will into the water. you and George weren’t the best at this course you had fallen three times and George fell twice
“look at them both”
Tommy turned around to see you and George in the water again as the pair of you fell once back on the inflatable you both made your way back to the others however George slipped and grabbed your arm trying to stay up ultimately dragging you down with him
“When is it my turn to be happy”
you all made your way to the canopy without falling, well that was until Tommy decided to lean on it causing it to fall into the water taking Tommy with it
“bye tom”
“he’s stuck save him”
“Nah this is funny”
Wilbur ended up helping him by making it so he could actually climb onto the inflatable
“you’re embarrassing us in front of the lifeguards”
you made your way across the course this time you didn’t fall as much as you did earlier on in the day, Wilbur went to push Tommy into the water again however this time you and George decided to get payback and attempted to side tackle him so he fell into the water
“bye will”
will finally got back onto the inflatable and pulled you aside
“We should form an alliance...I wouldn’t leave you behind”
“deal”
“When I say meet you there you start running the course I'll make sure you don’t fall”
“understood let’s do this”
you got ready to go as will told Tommy and George that the truces weren’t working and there was only one way to settle it
“meet you there”
you started running across the course you were doing surprisingly well, Wilbur only had to prevent you from falling once and that was because you lost balance over one obstacle
“I've got you! keep going”
eventually, you both turned around to see that Tommy and George finally set off and were making their way to you both
“we’re team weak..strong every day of the week”
you managed to contain your laughter as George fell as soon as Tommy said that
“we’ll be team pussy”
soon enough they caught up you and will went to push Tommy into the water however George snuck up behind you both and pushed you into the water
“ah yes water my good friend we meet again”
will helped you up first then you helped him up will noticed George fell and went to push him in the water whilst you made your way to Tommy
“I call this the leg turrent”
“you plan on doing this forever heh?”
you helped George back up whilst Wilbur tackled Tommy further down the course
“oh Tommy is still on the floor”
“what have you done to him”
you made your way to Tommy with George only to hear Tommy yell about the art of deception followed by a splash and Tommy's laughter. George got up to go get the drinks but fell again then stood up slowly turning to face you all
“that was called comedy.. I'll go get the drinks kills myself”
“the hydration is good”
“ah thanks, George you see I’ve personally been spending the majority of my time in the water”
Tommy ran over to you all then fell into the water making you all laugh followed by Wilbur telling him to complete the line about how many people are and are not subscribed to his vlog channel
“When did George fall into the water”
“How are you guys feeling for a race”
“I’m down”
“right you and George are going to run that way around, y/n and I will run this way and we’ll meet at the nub we fought for”
“winner gets to launch the other of that big floppy thing”
“GO”
Tommy and George ran off before you two however you and will made it to the nub before the others, mainly because neither of you fell and worked together.
“come across Tommy we will let you have the win if you make it across that”
Tommy ran at the bridge however he fell three quarters over the bridge
“oh fucking hell”
“he tried”
you and will helped Tommy up however George ran over
“George you’re ruining the moment” Wilbur pushed him over the edge into the water
“bye again George”
“let’s go back to the nub”
“I think me and y/n technically won”
“friends?”
“friends”
Tommy decided to shake hands with will and made you go over to him so he could give you a hug you stood with will filming Tommy for the outro you waved bye to Tommy as he fell a rather long distance into the water, once will stopped recording he pushed you into the water from the same height
“WILL I'M GOING TO KILL YOU”
once you all dried off and got ready you and Tommy made your way back to yours as it was late you agreed Tommy may as well stay the night again, the pair of you spent the night playing games together and arguing about who won the game you missed spending time with just Tommy and he missed spending time with you so you were both incredibly thankful he decided to come over to yours a few days earlier than expected.
