I just found your fic series yesterday and I have been seriously enjoying it. I mean, not the psychological trauma part, but just how well written it is. I love how your mind works.

But no spoilers! I read Miner's eulogy, but I've only gotten to chapter 7 of Clipped Wings.

Anyway, I came here to say that since this is definitely before the movie and will definitely affect how the timeline of the show coincides with everything, I've come to see just how much of the movie actually does intertwine with the story, and how it affects how I view some of the scenes now.

Of course, I have no idea when he's gonna get better enough to where he's gonna be fighting alongside them on missions again. And the ark with Shredder and the Krang is definitely coming soon in the timeline of their lives right now. Buuuut, I do expect for us to maybe have some "just cause" because there is no way that they're gonna be leaving the lair anytime soon unless for just for getting stuff for Donnie. I mean, do we really think they're worried about the FOOT CLAN right now? We can act like all that is many months or many years from now because Donnie is definitely not gonna be okay by then.

So, anyway, whenever any of that ends up happening in this world, I like to think about the Krang bus and Technodrome scenes from the movie. In both instances, Donnie loses his battle shell. He protects Mikey with it and has to lose it to be able to control the ship with his bare back. Which, like, ow? Seeing the movie through the eyes of this story, there are definitely a lot of places that just would not exist because of the condition of Donnie. But god.

The extra worry that Mikey has about Donnie's shell? The protectiveness? The question of "are you sure?" before he takes it off?

The part where him and Mikey are trapped in the Turtle Tank? The utter terror on Donnie's face, in the fetal position, the fear of being crushed and suffocated, just like in the closet...

When Raph comes out of that cocoon swinging at Leo? The same way he did at Donnie? Donnie having to his big brother in that state again, with pure rage in his eyes? Rage at his family? Raph not being in control of himself? DOING EXACTLY WHAT HE DID TO DONNIE TO LEO???

I don't know if you already realized the things and even wrote some things based off of the information we have from the movie. Anyway, I just wanted to vent that out. This au has me in a chokehold. THE MOVIEEEEEE YEAHHHH there's been a bunch of talk about how the movie would go in CC since i have no plans to cover it, but hrhghhh i could really see some of those scenes recontextualized by what donnie goes through here. although personally i think raph being kraangified would hit him a lot harder than it would donnie, who wouldn't have the same kind of proximity to it. because raph has a lot of trauma from what he ended up doing to donnie, and doing it to ANOTHER one of his little brothers would SERIOUSLY mess him up. some people have asked if the choking in particular was an intentional parallel and my answer is actually nope, it was just an extension of the whole uhhh canary/breath metaphor, that and all the damage to his chest (even when raph let go he couldn't breathe!!!). but it would hit a lot harder with the movie's events in mind, its the second time raph would do that to one of his brothers!! oh my god he would be so fucking guilty!!!!!!! man...

honestly since CW is planned to end on new years 2022 i kind of see everything in BN:NY and forward just being pushed back quite a while, not for any huge canon reasons it just makes more sense logically. since everything around the S2 finale/with the shredder just kinda HAPPENS to them, i could see BN:NY happening at pretty much any point they're all out of the lair together lmao, and once some stuff works out i dont think donnie will want to stay cooped up forever, he's gonna be kind of desperate to be "normal" for the sake of making his family feel better even to his own detriment i feel. i cant say anything too big about the changes because there's some stuff with ninpo that hasnt been revealed in the story, but ultimately i dont think it'd be all that different!! the destruction of the lair would be more cathartic than anything else at least lmao

it may be the sleep deprivation talking, but i am not feeling good. well okay with bpd even with sleep deprivation, i don't feel good but still. i just. all the negative thoughts i felt before when me and whom is my fp were talking a year ago are back and i'm just afraid to bring them up. like it's not even like things are specifically that way again but it's still there. because i don't know. i hate having a proper fp that makes my brain go fucking insane because all im feeling when we're not talking is emptiness because i just want to talk to them. and then when we are talking, i just feel like i'm making them do it and i'm being too much or whatever. and yeah, i get the emotional state changes too where they affect me for no reason other than ??? but i don't fuckin know. it's just. the loudest thought in my head is that they're going to leave again. that i'm going to end up doing something so self-destructive that it'll just be that and then it's over. again.

he's from around where the deepsea metro is/was. had to leave because of unstable surroundings from an unknown to him cause. he's best friends with Rust and her kids, im gonna be honest i haven't actually thought through how they met and ive just realized this oops. since he spent most of his life underground and now lives in the splatlands he gets sunburnt way too frequently to not be covered up constantly, though he wears thing like tank tops and shorts during splatfest since those mostly occur during the night.

He met wisteria and ember first and then 72. they didnt apoint him as leader nor do they really care to have one but he's the tallest so everyone assumes its him. he's the most softspoken out of the 4 of them but thats a really low bar, he has a hard time making decisions but once he does he will die on that hill

72 escaped the metro before agent 8 went through it, he had found a memcake that was dropped after a test giving him just a clear enough mind to think for himself some. he ended up finding his way out after a while of accumulating a couple more memcakes, barely any where his though so hes walking around with memories that aren't his. It also took him a while to get used to the fact he isnt a soldier nor a test subject anymore. If he saw another sanitized mollusk he'd probably hide or run away </3.

72 met Ghost while after wandering around the area for a while, and ended up crashing in his car the whole time on ghosts way back to the splatlands (he thought 72 was like, drunk or something since he was tumbling around and seemed to be not the most coherent). he doesnt blink or breath unless hes actively thinking about it :[.

he had a hard time discerning things for a while but hes gotten better, at first he thought ember was just a weird octoling because she wears the old octoling goggles. we beat the evil soap with friendship in this house!!!

personality wise hes pretty hyper and cheerful which isnt usually your first thought upon seeing a zombie, forgot his age but hes an adult, he was encouraged to pick his own birthday :]

Ember's both a video game and turf/anarchy streamer, she has camera in their goggles for the latter. bad habit of talking in twitch/internet lingo outside of streaming. Once she has eyes on something its nearly impossible to get her to do something else. Very friendly outside fighting, will give you nice words and a pat on the back after a game whether they won or not.

met ghost while playing turf war in a random que, he was, in her words, "a bit to intense to be playing in turf" and told him after the game that he should try out anarchy, he was scared of it since he was new to the area. they ended up teaming up and playing a couple games together, later inviting wisteria and eventually 72.

hey! <3333 tyyy i hope it lives up to expectation. LITERALLY reading ollie is so healing its good for the soul.

so this is like a comprehensive list of ollie comics, and this is a guide to everyone in the arrowfam. they’re super helpful if you want a broad overview

for my own personal recs, i think it's nice to start with green arrow: year one or green arrow stranded, to get a feel for his origin & time on the island. the hard traveling heroes (green lantern/green arrow) stories are also essential reading in that they basically established the modern version of ollie's personality and they're soo much fun, just beware of snowbirds lol.

from there green arrow vol 2 (1988) is the big one! pretty much Thee green arrow run, especially if you want to get to know ollie better. it's a lot of solid street-level ga stories in seattle, dinah's there, eddie fyers is there, and connor's introduced towards the end! if you're specifically interested in connor #102-137 was his original green arrow run. though word of caution that anything written after mike grell is a bit questionable.

if you're more interested in the 'arrowfamily' as a whole then you're looking for green arrow vol 3 (2001). it's 75 issues and a lot of fun. this is where ollie comes back to life, mia is introduced, ollie legalizes gay marriage, etc. it's pretty much just ollie hanging out with connor and mia and having some more street-level star city shenanigans, and i am very fond of it. that being said when judd winick takes over there is some questionable shit (you might want to just skip the arc with joanna pierce) but overall it's a fun time. roy shows up occasionally, dinah comes and goes. it's probably the best run to read if you want to get to know the arrowfam as a whole.

do not read green arrow/black canary unless you're desperate. it's bad. it's hilariously bad. do not trust anyone who tells you it's good. it is pretty harmless so if you just want to skim through for mia funny moments go ahead but...yeah it's trash.

post-new 52 there is not a lot unfortunately. a lot of it's garbage. the jeff lemire run is probably the most salvageable? and the rebirth one (volume 6) isn't as nauseating so that's also an option. but obviously you can read & enjoy whatever you want, maybe new52 ollie is your favorite ollie. i would say to read through some of this if you're interested in emiko but i can't really recommend it per se.

and that brings us to the current ga ongoing! you've probably heard us bitch about it a lot on here, but tbh it's been less bad & more mediocre. mediocre comics are just really frustrating to read through in real time. i might give it a try though, it has some nice moments even though it's not great, and williamson is leaving the title next month! chris condon is set to take over and has said the first arc is about street-level crime in star city, influenced by grell and o'neill. so i am VERY excited, it has the possibility to be peak. i think condon's run (issue 18) could be a great place to hop on!

so those are my green arrow recs! if you're more interested in roy, he usually features more in titans titles than ga titles so i have a separate list in my comic recs tag for him.

i couldn't find the ig post you were talking about? i have no clue how a fight between dick and ollie would go if that's the question. power scaling is not my forte by any means. i'm not sure how ollie's archery and dick's hand to hand fighting would match up. so i don't have a lot of insight on that sorry!

The only source of healthy food in the house (he borrows money from his dad and goes to the store alone) but is severely malnourished from eating nothing more than reheated takeout his dad left in the fridge. Nick doesn't talk verbally unless it's to his dad (out of necessity) and otherwise converses in ASL (which I'm learning for this book <3). Loves pretty buildings and stargazing, has a dream of visiting things like Notre Dame and the colloseum some day and is fascinated by architecture. I just realised that this kid would adore Minecraft but anyway after things get better for him he's given Lego models of like the eiffel tower and he loves them :)

She ran away from her abusive boyfriend and left Nick behind out of fear, since she didn't know if she could survive by herself, much less with a child in tow. She ends up leaving with her best friend and they travel around the world a lot for their job. They're a musician who plays back up for bands in different places and Rachel ends up learning to play some stuff too after watching them for so long. The two end up dating at some point and they've been together ever since. Rachel still sends Nicholas a postcard every time she travels to a new place, but she doesn't have the courage to actually see him in person yet. Also fun fact. She's descended from a woman who was killed for being a 'witch' during the salem trials. This is relevant to the story :3

Lexi is a single mom who grew up kinda spoiled and is still figuring out how to raise a kid. Her parents are kinda helpful about it but also she doesn't want to raise Chelsea how she was raised so hgjhrj. Chelsea was orignally planned to be autistic since this entire book is a transparent cover for neurodivergent rep but the version of her in my head is so very ADHD instead. They only show up near the end of the book so I'm still experimenting with them a bit but Lexi is a huge book worm and Chelsea loves unicorns, like, I mean in the 'mythology is cool way' not the 'stereotypical girl behaviour' way. She does love pink things and sparkles though

(Rewriting this bc the first version was ASS, my bad. I went back and read some chapters and did a bit of math to get the characters' ages right with a friend of mine. lol, I hope this version is better. This was inspired by the anon who was talking about Platonic Yandere Higashikatas)

With all the crazy stuff that happens in Jojo, i can see something like that happening. Maybe the reader´s family was already friends with the Higashikatas, or maybe they became a friend of Jobin at the local scouting movement, which i do think would be a bit harder but still possible, lol Slowly, they get more and more inserted into the family to the point it almost feels like they spend most of their time in the Higashikata household, only leaving to either sleep or to grab something from their house before they're back as quick as they left. I feel like this would happen even quicker if the Reader ended up having a complicated relationship with their parents and ended up venting their emotions to the Higashikatas (Next thing you know Norisuke is gonna end up adopting yet another person lol)

I wonder what what would've happened if they were around at the time Kaato was sent to jail, im pretty sure no parents would like to have their kid be friends with a criminal or anyone related to a criminal, so im sure they would either try to make Reader cut ties with the Higashikatas or maybe try to slowly separate them from them from the Higashikatas kids. And if that didn't work? They'd probably just leave Morioh, I mean - Yeah, the place is great! But do you REALLY want your kid to be around when so much weird stuff is going around? I don't think so! So their parents just end up leaving with them one day, with no warning nor a chance to say goodbye to their friends, Reader is now in a new city very far away from Morioh. Reader is quick to learn to repress all their memories of the Higashikatas, unless they'd like to be grounded for what felt like the 5th time that week for just mentioning they missed looking around for beetles with Jobin or being used as a mannequin for Hato. There is an empty hole in their chest, but after a few years in their new school and neighborhood, they manage to feel a lot better. They always had an easy time making friends anyway.

As time passes, you end up forgetting a lot about the Higashikatas, your memory is only limited to a few moments of childlike bliss with a family you can't even remember the name of, but your mind quickly leaves these thoughts away as they go back to the same repetitive and boring work you do every day. As much as you wish for change in your life, it's quite hard to do so when everything is just so damn pricey! So when a better job opportunity in another city shows up, you immediately book it, leaving almost the same day you get the confirmation that you got the job.

First impression

That was a long, long time ago, but probably "deadbeat who can't be bothered to deduce his way out of a paper bag hat." A lot of frustration, or just dismissing him outright at times, probably.

Impression now

I still feel the frustration, but I feel like a lot of it is more on Gosho shoehorning him into the role of "needs to be a dumbass" rather than Kogoro actually being a dumbass. He's had so many times when he's shown how smart he is that there are some times when he acts stupid that just... don't make sense.

Favorite moment

I think it's the Fourteenth Target movie, where he shoots Eri with perfect aim in order to get the guy holding her to let go?

More recently, I can still remember the moment from the Stradivarius case where he does exactly what Conan says without even asking or complaining and only then does he ask himself why he just... followed the orders of a seven year old.

Basically, any moment that lets him be a badass.

Idea for a story

Anything where he puts things together.

Kogoro having a one to one with "Conan" and getting a few ground rules down, talking things over, so they end up collaborators and the whole "Sleeping Kogoro" thing is a joint effort.

Shinichi at one point saying "Sure, sure. But if you start derailing an investigation, I WILL knock you out and take over."

Unpopular opinion

What are the unpopular Kogoro opinions? I mean, part of me sometimes wonders if it'd be better if he and Eri split up properly and just let themselves be friends, at times. Gosho wants to show that they're still in love, but unless Kogoro's womanising is a bluff, that's... hm. She could do better.

Favorite relationship

Funnily enough, I love seeing how he is with Conan/Shinichi! Kogoro is basically like Shinichi's second dad (fitting, considering how Yuusaku is absent so much), and it shows. They'll mirror each other and not even realise it. Kogoro will also, in spite of how he complains about "the brat," protect him just as much as he protects Ran.

Favorite headcanon

That he's put things together, no matter what Gosho says.

Just now I was even thinking that he could easily have come up with a "deduction" that is scarily accurate, but he convinces himself that it "can't" be true because it's just the sort of thing that those around him usually laugh at him for coming up with. It doesn't leave his head, but it's just like a conspiracy theory that refuses to not make sense.

There've been times he should have been looking straight at Conan when he shot his dart, or should have woken up before the deduction is over. It fits.

the way stas is so obsessed with colby and the fact that people still dont see it,is so crazy to me. she likes his tweets/ig posts so fast. up until recently had a pic with him pinned to her ig but still has the tiltok with him pinned on tiktok. she still likes edits of him,dedicated a whole highlights to mostly pics of him on snap (so many reposted them and i finally saw where they came from). and not to mention, she had so many photos of him not looking in her reel. this is giving less supportive friend/girl in love and more stage five clinger. he barely acknowledges her except for the occasional ig pic like. but wow i have seen so much of her ways since the so called editing retreat, im surprised people dont notice.

they both clearly want attention, we have all established that. but what's funny is that they get the upper hand bc so many fans, regardless of what stas/shea do, assume that the things they post are about colby no matter what. stas posts a tiktok - oh she's wearing merch it's about colby. stas liked a tweet about the core four - clearly that was about her and colby. shea makes some vague tweet - it's about colby, no doubt. shea comments hearts on a pic of the two of them - she obviously wants fans to know they're back on. it's never ending !

and i get it, it's extremely easy to assume that everything they do online is about him. i don't think that's reality. and even if it is, that doesn't mean we have to pay it any mind.

and the fans that love them will never see them for who they are. maybe they will eventually. maybe they'll get older, stop paying attention to snc, and look back and be like "huh, it was a bit strange i was in a gc with a 20 something year old and she constantly talked about her friend colby and casually told us that she had a crush on him unprompted." or "oh wow, that was weird that i was in a gc with an almost 30 year old shit talking other girls that colby was close to just bc that almost 30 year old really wanted me to believe that she was dating him." i truly hope that happens. but unless a drove of fans comes out and shames them, it ain't gonna change what currently is taking place. so until then, it's best that we, the ppl that understand their shtick, move on and forget about them.

okay first of all. there's a huge timeline issue in season 3 concerning the holidays and how much time passes since season 1, i was gonna make a whole other post about all the timeline inconsistencies but i didnt get around to doing it (i probably should). but like at this point it has been one year minimum since s1, realistically it should be three years if the end of season 4 is palm sunday. then like ??? theyre gonna spend the entirety of s5 on ONE week? and for fucking what. i thought they wanted a "bingeable" proper show with pacing and everything, why would they zero in on that

but anyways about ramah. first of all im 99% sure it's because her actress has schedule conflicts and likely wants to drop out of the show (that's why she mysteriously left to go talk to her dad in season 3). but also it's kind of obvious that they're using her death as character development for thomas for the rest of the series (which is gonna be like 2 weeks maximum over 3 seasons anyway. unless they continue onto acts but that poses another huge pacing problem.) which is pissing me off like?? i had the same reaction when tamar was acting weird for like one (1) episode and then she told mary everything and just left. why would you not give them proper character development established over a long period of time and just confine it to singular episodes like that. im pretty sure tamar's backstory won't be brought up again lmao. also ramah doesn't really have much of a personality (which sucks because i got the impression she was a bit of a rich daddy's girl and there was potential for character exploration) and her character hasn't even been that established so like... partially it's easy to kill her but on the other hand, it isn't as emotional especially bc she wasn't even here the last season.

also remember how in the other post i was like why are they literally giving consistent character arcs and emotional plot for matthew, mary, simon & eden, and james & john but theyre basically forgetting everybody else exists. yeah like james just fucking launches himself at someone and gets knocked out in season 4 which is great but how long are they going to be just keep throwing new arcs for the main cast and keep ignoring thaddeus' existence. btw i watched a clip of That Scene in s4 (i didnt realize what it was when i was watching it lmao) with thaddeus and james and they're basically asking jesus why he's talking about dying. so thaddeus stays personalityless while big james is over there getting concussions #maincharacter. im not saying that scene w/jesus isnt necessary but im saying its thad's big scene and it is once again about Not thaddeus

As previously mentioned, Magnus's commitment to his early morning workouts lol, but also Taako's a total blanket hog. (Taako doesn't exactly SLEEP, cuz elf, and he only needs like 4 hours of meditation (iirc im not double checking the lore lol), but he likes getting to relax and cuddle with Magnus, so it's usually more than that. He goes to bed at like 2 am, so Magnus falls asleep alone and wakes up freezing cold cuz Taako climbed in and stole all his blankets and contorted himself into a weird position where he's like upside down how did that even happen Taako...)

3. Jealousy issues?

ABSOLUTELY while they're pining, less so when they're properly together. Before getting their memories back, Taako used to get super jealous about Julia and then feel horrible for it, especially cuz they weren't even in a commited relationship, who the fuck is he to get jealous over his coworker slash fuckbuddy's dead wife?? And Magnus used to get super upset when other people would flirt with Taako, both in the IPRE era “haha we’re bffs and not in love… unless….” phase and at the Bureau. (Taako sometimes intentionally flirted with other people cuz he liked seeing Magnus get possessive over him... he liked seeing how committed he is)

I have a fankid, so they have at least one. I cant see them ending up with more than 2 or 3 max. I think Taako was super unsure if he'd be a good parent. He wanted a chance to give a kid a better childhood than he and Lup got, but it was always more of an idle fantasy than an actual plan. Magnus wanted kids from the time he was a kid, he used to be so upset he didn't have any younger siblings (he had some younger cousins he got to hang out with, but not too often). They used to talk about "when we're parents" while they were on the Starblaster, but again, it was always more of a fantasy than anything concrete; they weren't sure if they'd ever leave this cycle, so their future plans were always an abstract fantasy they never expected to come true.

9. If they got engaged… who proposed?

Magnus did the Official Big Proposal, but Taako was the one who suggested marriage first. In a very casual schrodinger's joke way ofc. He's never been big on commitment, mostly cuz he has a huge fear of abandonment, but it was like... he knew Magnus wasn't going to leave him, not after a hundred years, but it was still nice to have a piece of paper meaning it would at least be harder. Plus the fact Magnus had gotten married and it wasn't to Taako still made him kinda jealous. He doesn't need to be more important than Julia, he just needs to feel like they're on the same level. BUT he wanted Magnus to do the Proper Proposal, and Magnus was very excited to make it big and romantic (and public, which Taako was like. a little embarrassed about. But ultimately fine with. As long as it wasn't interrupting-a-sporting-event level public)

things are pretty hectic for him this month, a lot of past connections returning to haunt him, rumours surrounding these reconnections and all so, i plan to have him show up for this event without a date but

we can have an ex he recently broke up with who will be attending the event (lots of room for awkward run-ins)

someone new he meets at the event that he ends up flirting with? nothing serious but they just really hit it off and end up going for a dinner or stroll together (something about the cherry blossoms make for a good romantic set-up)

DAY 01

jaerim would be very interested in this year's charity, since it's childcare related (he volunteers at children's charity organisations) so he would want to show up for the lunch

we could do a carpool situation? maybe your muse needed transport to the event (to avoid traveling with their family or for whatever reason) and his fancy car ain't a bad option. could have them meet with some situation on the way there and show up fashionably late halfway through the welcome lunch, walk in with everyone staring at them? maybe even have them wonder if your muse is his date for the event?

i think he'd really dig the sunset watching and dinner cruise so maybe a date for that? or an unintentional date of sorts? like they got lost or left behind because they were bickering over something and everyone else had left by the time they were done so they were on their own and the view was too good to pass off (could work for platonic connections too!) DAY 02

feel like it'd be fun for him to get stuck on a cable car ride with an ex or enemy of sorts e.g. "we need to talk", "but people will see us", next moment one of them drags the other into the cable car

not really a railbike kinda guy (unless you convince him?) but he would be lounging at the beach so anyone spending their time there could bump into him. beachside cocktails and provocatively applying sunscreen? hit him the hell up

i see him being forced to mingle with people during the dinner and fireworks show so bring on any drama with past connections

but i do understand how you feel about friend groups splitting up, especially in vice versa where you come to love up, aou, fuse and kita so much. i honestly can't rewatch the scene where puen and talay say goodbye to them without tearing up because it's just TOO PAINFUL. this is the tragedy of universal travelling though: you get to build all these relationships and share all these moments with people, but in the end they don't really belong to you. you're borrowing someone else's body, someone else's life, and there really isn't any satisfying ending to it. that's the lesson puen had to learn too: he could have chosen to stay in the alternate universe as tun, where he had a loving family and devoted friends, but it wouldn't have been right, not only towards tun himself, but also towards those same family and friends he came to care about. even if you run away from it, your life is still your life, and you're gonna have to face it sooner or later

and don't get me wrong, of course i do wish up and aou could remember puen and talay as who they are and not as tess and tun, but at the same time i wonder if it would make things any better. right now, puen and talay are the ones carrying all the pain of leaving: people in the alternate universe will never know they're missing someone, because they don't know the switch happened in the first place. if they did, they would have to carry that burden too, because unless the two universes collided they will always be separated, and on top of that they would also have to deal with the fact that someone they cared about went missing for years and that they never realized it

this is why i don't think we're ever gonna get a proper closure on this matter, because even the best possible ending is still heartbreaking. and i definitely can see how this may be upsetting, but i also think there's some beauty in it, in having met someone that, whether you know it or now, changed your life for the better

Got mad last night cause i was scrolling through google images of skeleton art and besides the like, 90% of it that was bullshit ai garbage, i just get really disappointed that nobody else seems to view skeletons the same way i do??

Like for one, the main thing for me is that while of course dan is autistic, hes also more importantly, a Metaphor for autism. Can't make expressions. Emotes in other ways that he has to learn/exaggerate bc otherwise people misunderstand him. Despite being human, he's very much viewed as other, because he doesnt look/act the same as everyone else.

Certain senses are dulled so theres cues he can't easily pick up, lots of things like that.

It gets exacerbated especially in the end of book five in which he does get his body back, and at this point hes spent about 6 years give or take as a skeleton, with no taste or smell and only 1/2 his sense of touch, and so do you think its all easy peasy just pop him back in and we're fine? NO. Nothing is that easy. This is overstimulation CITY. He didn't realize how easy he had it in the sensory department until all of a sudden hes hyperaware of skin and muscles and fluids and everything feels doubly intense and theres smells and sounds and its all different and he doesnt remember how to swallow to speak with an actual tongue anymore, and like, its supposed to be this triumphant moment but instead hes having a complete meltdown and his friends are like...... did we do the spell wrong?? Nope. Hes just autistic. And that fits into the metaphor. Like, now that he Appears normal, he "fits" better with normal society, except its actively worse for him. Much like masking makes us fit in better, but exhausts us and burns us out.

And back to my original point, like WHAT is with giving skeletons expressions in art?? Those are not eyebrows they are the frontal bone they do not move. Those are not cheeks, they are zygomatic bones, again, they do not move. The orbital cavities cannot scrunch or narrow or move! Mandible is all you get. You can have an up down forward back or side to side motion. My Favorite part of having a skeleton character is the lack of expression. I'm able to emphasize when someone knows him well because they can read his body language and don't need expression.

The other thing that irritated me in skeletal art is the clothes. Why why why do ppl draw skull face, bone hands, then filled out clothes? Those clothes should be either carefully tailored or hang loosely, drape off the skeleton like they're a mannequin in a store. Thats part of the metaphor for me with the like, clothes arent made for you, you have to adjust them but no matter what you do you cant really disguise the fact that you aren't blending in, theres always gonna be little signs, like your spine leaving ridges in the back or your shirt caving in where you should have had a stomach but dont, or your pants cinched way tight in the waist but totally loose and flapping at the leg. That could be a metaphor for a lot of things honestly lol, but also personally i like it cause its more realistic. Like, when im thinking about the logistics of how a living walking talking skeleton works, like, unless its a flesh-is-invisible situation, it stands to reason that clothes would hang off them that way! Dan wears extra socks to help keep his boots on. Its little touches like that too that improve world building in my opinion.

because on one side, i do think that ot4s deserve the right to exist in this fandom peacefully and there is nothing wrong with being an ot4 if you're not being malicious about it (and like the 2017 scandal aside there are so many reasons why you could be one, i went through a period of just dropping kibum for a year bc man has consistently pissed me off with his actions for an extended time myself), because yeah - at the end of the day they're just a bunch of men and they're meant to be bringing some light into your boring life, not upset you. so blocking/hating on accounts solely based on the fact that they don't post about a member is kinda wild to me, some of them are just existing peacefully and dealing with liking the group despite not really being on board with everything it offers, and thats okay. it was a difficult year for us all. and i wanted to say i agree with the take on how the iwol and kwols perceptions are much different on this, as someone who exists on both sides of the fandom i see both angles of the conversation and its definitely a much wider gap than many of us realises

but obviously there is also the dark side of this which is just targeted harassment some of them engage in, and i genuinely don't understand how you can be an ot4 at all if one of the members makes you feel this hateful - like they totally ignore that their bias literally associates himself with the person they despise, how do you live like this??? i genuinely cant get it. like picking at random here but imagine biasing minho and despising jinki, how can you stay in this fandom if the man you love so much enables this horrible person? but at the same time i cant even be mad at them i think they need therapy huh

(He really shouldn't), he likes to do any work given by sj and likes to do calligraphy, he's the first one with a pen license, he also has type 1 diabetes (the genetical kind) so has to take insulin at set times, he finds this sorta embarrassing though so only teachers know about it, not like the others kids would u derstand nor care outside of maybe the nicer ones being more aware (my take on how to implement something that effects his life long term, appears in children and although greatly effects ones life, isn't something that gets you hospitalised (usually), can occasionally be overlooked or if well managed not noticed unless you know of it and not always properly understood in how it can affect someone, as reference to xuan su's (his swords) influence on his life)

Luo binghe is playing with the fake kitchens and brings in food he and his mum made at home to which is a literal luxery for anyone but him or shen yuan to eat, the only ones lucky enough to have tried it so far have been Wei qingwei as a means to get Liu qingge to leave him alone while sy plays with him and Sqh to get his weird boyfriend to stop breaking in as its stressing sy out, this fails and Luo binghe swore to never feed Sqh his and his mother's food ever again

Shen yuan is slowly losing his mind as how adorable they are and sweethearts they are to him, they are also so very much children who are very much as strange as children are in a way sy continuously seems to spontaneously forget (compartmentalizing) only to be shocked when he sees the chaos, he reads shitty novels on his phone during any break he can get

Shen jiu finds all the children to be annoying little nightmares who steal his husbands time (even though that's literally their job to care for the kids) he tends to spend his time on random puzzle games on his phone such as candy crush, Sudoku etc, his favorite time though is when he and sy can go walking home together and watch more of sy's shitty tv shows whilst snuggled on the couch when they get home that his sister got home into years ago, yet another thing sj will never admit out loud, for sj actions shout so much louder then words
