I've seen some people say some character art downgraded from 1 to 2 and while i agree about some poses not being as dynamic and some of the art being unfinished (early access tho) and the colors not being as dope, and some of the gods feel different

but i wanna specifically ramble about Artemis best gurl for a bit

this is my girlie in Hades 1

I've been thinking about the differences from 1 to 2, and I think in here, she's presenting herself as the Goddess of Hunting.

she looks a bit menacing, she looks sharp, she looks like she just got here, the angle she's looking at you it's not very direct it's like she's measuring you from head-to-toe kinda way, she also has that greenish light which feels kinda like an aura. she's down to business!

and when we look at her in Hades 2

She looks confident still, and you can see her weapons just as clearly, but her pose, and her smile? she's like, laid back, she's not quite posing to create an impression, she doesn't have that greenish aura, she's there in the flesh, she's not really presenting as a goddess in particular... she looks more welcoming, a bit softer looking... she looks like she's just stopped for a chat, while in 1 it's like she's in the middle of something

and when you stop to think about it? she is. she is just chatting with her friend. Melinoe is her friend, she called her Sister.

We're much more closer to her as Melinoe than we were as Zagreus. bc while she does become friends with him in H1, she's more of a long distance friend. we were building our bond with her in H1.

But here? in H2? she's known Mel for years... she kept it a secret from other gods... she's got those accessories thingies with the 4 colors. not only are we close friends we even got a friend bracelet thing going on with her!! Melinoe is a precious friend to her from what i've seen so far.

Why would she pose and be a bit distant with her friend? we know Artemis is a bit closed off from people, she prefers being in the woods with the animals than other gods i recall her saying that to Zag, but Mel? Mel is a dear friend, she sounds much more casual from the get go with her than with Zag because we have a strong bond with her already

In Hades 1 we just got to know her, so she's more closed off, she is more business like, she is distant, she is The Goddess of Hunting

In Hades 2 she is our friend 💖

on s2 ep5 of arcane and id like to point something out

at 11:37 Vi sees a mural made of Jinx and she looks visibly upset by it and how I interpreted this scene was that Vi had realized that Jinx was getting all the recognition; while almost no one was talking about her

That would be playing into the trope of the older sibling protecting everyone, yet being ignored to the youngest. Vi’s wishes were always in the best of people living whether that was topside or not.

Another similar addition could be her realizing that she could never be seen in the same way Jinx was because of her relationship with with the topsiders, that she wouldn’t always be second to the girl who had ruined her relationship and her (almost) girlfriend’s family. That she would be seen as the hero to the undercity, and Vi would be left out of the story completely.

this woman who is not only calm about becoming a vampire (a monster, in armand's own words), but actively welcomes it? this boy who was excited about meeting a vampire, and also wanted to be turned?

armand decides, as one does, to interrogate them. he jumps between curiosity and pity and a weird, violent mix of the two, asks them about their lives and digs into them to understand exactly what is wrong with these two humans that would makes them so fascinating.

he tries to figure out why madeleine is so eager to become a vampire, despite the loneliness of it. he tries to understand what is it about daniel that makes him worthy of attention.

and honestly? i don't think he necessarily finds out. but that just makes them more interesting in the long run

Anyways the idea of Tubbo’s originally offers of friendship solely for information about the missing eggs eventually becoming him waiting for a letter back from his pen pal

I think that once Nico gets comfortable with touch from his friend groups (through efforts by Hazel, Will, and Jason), he becomes REALLY touchy. Like I think he's the kind of person who always tries to tuck himself up against his friends's sides, he tries to hold their hands whenever they're walking, he likes to play with their hair or mess with their fingernails or do SOMETHING to get his hands on them, just so he can feel their heart beating, hear their pulse in his ears.

I think he gets really good at asking about boundaries (like is it okay to hug people, is it alright if he braids their hair, whatever) and it's good for both him, learning how to set boundaries and finally getting to demonstrate affection after who knows how many years alone, but it's also good for his friends, who start to pick up on how they could be setting their own boundaries in other places.

m just thinkin about like, 16-17 year old Nico who is so open and free compared to the kid he was just a couple years ago, a mid-teens Nico who's confident and mostly happy and comfortable with his friends. a Nico who finally has community and safety and love from every corner, yknow?

(I think that this also means Nico naps with his friends SO often. like people often find him curled up under Thalia's pine with his head tipped onto Jason's shoulder, find him and Leo slumped in one of the workshops around camp, find him and Annabeth curled up together around an open textbook, him and Will asleep tangled up on a cot in the infirmary. He and Hazel like to take naps in the little garden behind the Hades cabin, he and Percy even sometimes nap on the beach even though Nico always wakes up sunburnt and complains about the sand.)
