PREVIOUS | NEXT — SERIES TAGLIST
pairing: heimdall x gn!reader
summary: days have passed since the kiss you shared with heimdall, and while you try to figure out what it means for your relationship— the group prepares for war.. and suffers a massive loss.
notes: this chapter is just straight angst. sorry in advance but it was a necessary evil.... ignore any plot holes please..... and also please let me know if you want to be tagged in this series! my taglist is really old and im sure ppl have lost interest, so let me know if you want to be removed as well.
you awoke from your sleep with a jolt. you had never gotten used to the rough feeling of wood pressed against your skin as you slept. even if it was the same material you usually slept on while you were home in midgard, your circumstances were different. back then, you didn't have to worry about a war with one of the most powerful gods in the realms. you only had to worry about what to make for dinner. now, you had much more to think about. including your strange relationship with the god of foresight, heimdall.
a part of you still regretted taking his wrist in your hand that day. it still wasn't that long ago, but you wondered how different things would be now if you hadn't.
the atmosphere was tense in the house. you swore there had been maybe 20 words spoken between everyone. people looked over their shoulder, wary of heimdall's every move. in a way, you couldn't blame them. after all, he was odin's son. the son of the man who had ruined their entire lives, and he had yet to state his side. but he wasn't fighting, either. ever since he had arrived.. you noticed that. he never fought the idea of being used as leverage. after your conversation. you supposed you understood why.
ratatoskr had since found out of heimdall's presence on his tree, and he was less than happy about it. but still, he had remained polite despite his grievances. you did notice how he seemed to be around less, though. you couldn't help but to assume that was due to heimdall.
freyr hadn't gotten any used to him being around, and you didn't think he ever would. he was quieter— less himself. you hated seeing him that way.. but the vote you had made days prior was a fair one. you thought he had trouble seeing him as anything but a member of the family who burned him. he couldn't even see him as leverage.
your father jumped into gear the morning after. he was completely prepared to do whatever was necessary to protect atreus.. and yourself, by extension. you knew little of his time in his homeland. it was something he didn't speak of much, but you did know he killed gods there. he seemed ready to have to do it again, but not at all eager about it.
"none of us are safe, even here." tyr murmured from where he sat at the end of of the table. it was far too small for him, and his knees hit at the wood on the edges, but it was almost a funny sight. "so we have no choice." freya responded simply. "we find surtr, sound gjallarhorn, and bring odin to justice. now."
you glanced uncomfortably over your shoulder at heimdall, who stared blankly at the group from where he stood, leaning against the wall. you watched as his hand fell to the horn on his hip.
"you'd incinerate every soul in asgard and call it self defense?"
"does he ever suggest plans or just crap on everyone elses?" freyr murmured, leaning back against the table in the kitchen.
"the obvious plan is staring you in the face," tyr ignored him, "we don't need odin to use this. we can slip into asgard and do it ourselves, right under his nose. we gain the knowledge we need to shatter his prophecy of war once and for all."
"except— begging your pardon— you don't have a way into asgard." sindri replied.
"they got the big horn, don't they?" brok called out from their working space.
"oh, so you expect them to sneak into asgard blowing a horn that sounds across all the realms?"
"i expect you to bite my blue buttcheek!"
"please. just.. think about it." tyr said.
you watched as atreus sat the mask down on the table. you had let him look at it. he had read the runes, inspected the design.. but nothing seemed to make sense outside of that crack you had told him about that odin had in his basement. your father sat mimir down next to it.
"this mask," he started, picking it up. "the easy answers that it promises. i know this.. shortcuts always have a price."
he turned his focus to you, brows knitted together. this expression that he wore wasn't one you saw often. he was worried. "you have carried it. what do you think?" he asked.
you let out a breath. "i don't know. at best.. it's a chance." you said with a shrug of your shoulders. you didn't know what it was or what it entailed, but you knew it was important to odin. "if nothing else, it's leverage. we have something he wants. if it really gives us all the answers, maybe no one has to die."
"grand. now all we need's a way to asgard." mimir replied simply.
you watched as your father's gaze shifted to tyr, and hesitantly, so did yours. "i know i've been a burden to you all," he started, readjusting himself in the seat, "i know you've questioned why you even pulled me out of that hole. i have too."
he stood, walking around the table. something changed in his stride. you wondered where his sudden boost of confidence seemed to come from. but maybe this was what you needed. "i have too. but it's clear now. this is what i'm needed for. this is my purpose. one last time. i will pick up my spear and.. i will lead us to asgard."
"'scuse me, but if you got a way to asgard, where's that idea been this whole fuckin' while?" brok asked.
"that's.. rather a fair question, brother."
"you.. withheld asgard?" your father asked, pushing himself to his feet. something in his eyes shifted. anger. you recognized that look all too well.
"you would've gotten us all killed. and we needed to give the champion time to find their destiny. here it is." tyr picked up the mask off the table, and you shrunk into yourself. you hated being called the champion. it didn't feel like you, really.
"it's all led to this."
"if we can get inside, i'm going after odin." freya said.
"i will not stop you. we can do both."
"spot on, brother. if the mask doesn't give us an out, we'll still have the drop on him."
"works for me." freyr spoke through his food.
"let's do it, then."
"and quickly, before he sees us coming."
"he does hate surprises."
you looked back over at heimdall, who had silently gotten much closer to you while you were involved in the conversation. he stood a foot or so behind you, brows knitted together. "heimdall," you started, cutting off anyone else from speaking before they even could. "is there.. another way into asgard?"
he looked over at you, then back at tyr. his eyes were filled with something else, something you couldn't exactly pinpoint.
"no." he replied after a pause, staring at the taller god. the rest of the group only stared at him.
"i still wanna hear the details on this, uh, new way to asgard you got. spill it!" brok said after a moment. if anyone knew another way to asgard out of everyone in the room, it would've been heimdall. he wouldn't have lied, would he? was that something he would do to you after everything that happened the other night? you decided not to think about it.
"it's an ancient path. we can't reach it from here." tyr said, moving around brok to continue walking.
"where then?" he pushed, following after him quickly.
"let me collect my things and i'll show you." tyr replied frustratedly. you furrowed your eyebrows together. brok was right. something about this just.. wasn't making sense.
"you ain't got no things. and where you goin' with that mask?" he smacked it out of tyr's hand, and you watched as it went flying. "that belongs to y/n, they earned it! all you done was make passable dirt soup!"
"brok, it's okay." you muttered in an attempt to de-escalate whatever you were watching unfold. "no, it ain't." he responds without missing a beat. "this ain't right. all the pieces ain't weldin' together true. like, what's with him calling you, 'loki,' anyway?" brok asked, turning his gaze to atreus.
now that he had mentioned it.. you had never heard tyr call him atreus. he had only called him loki. the name your mother gave for him to the giants. no one had ever called him loki.
"you know that ain't his name! hey, i'm talkin' to you!"
"do you NEVER shut up?"
you watched as tyr shifted into someone else. odin. his knife dug into brok, completely tearing through his clothing and diving into his skin. the weapon was covered in his blood, and you could only watched as he fell to the floor. "brok!" sindri called, kneeling at his side.
behind you, you could feel heimdall drawing his weapon. his eyes lingered on the scene before him. this is what odin did to people. this is what he would've done to him, had he stayed.
in your state of shock, odin wrapped an arm around your shoulders, the knife that was just used to stab brok held at the skin of your neck. he pulled you backwards, and even though you resisted, you knew it was ultimately no good. would you die here? would brok?
"of all the things.." odin murmured.
"odin." your father said, anger filling his eyes.
"let go and face me!" freya called, sword held in her hand. freyr stood at her side, and atreus at the other. heimdall took a place by your father. despite the risk of your life ending, you stared at him. he was facing his father. he had his sword drawn, his brows furrowed together. this was an expression you had never seen on his face before. anger.
"tell your brother to throw me the mask, and you've got a deal." odin said.
"stop moving."
"freya!" sindri called out, eyes focused on his dying brother. you wanted to sob. you wanted to do anything but be here in the grasp of the man you hated the most.
"if he dies.."
"now, now. wasn't part of the plan. but if he dies.." odin's gaze shifted to his son. "we are square for heimdall. and honestly, you got a bargain."
"i will kill you. plan on that."
"so nice spending time with you again."
"freya, please!" sindri begged, finally looking up at her.
"ah ah ah. can't be in two places at once, frigg."
freya shifted backwards, kneeling at brok's side. freyr stepped over, and with him, so did heimdall.
"hey, i don't move, you don't move. don't do anything you'll regret."
"i regret many things. killing you will not be one of them."
"i am in control here!" odin yelled. "throw me the mask, now!"
you watched as your father's gaze shifted from you to atreus, to freyr. he threw the mask after what felt like the longest few seconds of your life, and you lurched out of the allfather's grasp. atreus leaped at him, taking the form of a wolf as he did so. he was shoved out of the way, and he picked the mask up off of the floor.
"too bad." he said, looking directly at you. "looks like war after all."
as he stepped backwards into the doorway, your father hurled a spear at him. you hadn't seen this weapon before, but that was the least of your concerns. the tip of the spear pinned the mask against the wall, and odin slipped out of view. you breathed out a sigh of relief.. but that didn't last for long. you turned around and the view of brok and sindri together on the floor only broke your heart once again.
"please, you have to save him. you have to." sindri said, watching as freya tried her best to heal him. your heart sank into your stomach. there was nothing more she could do, and brok knew it. "he can't.. you can't.. maybe if i go back to the lake.."
"stop it. i know what you done. and i forgives ya. but y'gotta stop. y'gotta let go."
"brok?"
sindri stared down at his brother, now lifeless in his arms. he looked towards the ceiling, and disappeared.
"this.. whole time?" atreus murmured.
freyr appeared at your side, extending the mask out. you stared at it for a moment, before looking up at him. you took it out of his hands, your fingers pressing against it. you hated this thing. it took everything in you to not just destroy it right now.
"so.. what do we do now?" he questioned.
"now..?" freya repeated. she paused, picking up her sword. "now we kill odin. and anyone who gets in our way."
"atreus. y/n. come." your father said.
"what? where?" atreus asked.
"it does not matter." he muttered. you had never seen him look so.. defeated. you felt it too, but he was always so good at hiding how he felt. seeing him like this only hurt you further. brok meant a great deal to him, and you knew that. he meant a great deal to you, too.
"where are you going?" freya said.
"we are done."
he walked away and you were left standing with everyone else, watching as he turned to the door. you took in a deep breath. you squeezed your eyes closed, but followed after him. you stopped after a second, turning to look at heimdall.
you pressed the mask into his hands. "i'll be back." you said, your voice coarse. your throat felt dry. you wanted to scream. you wanted to cry. you probably would. but not right now.
you turned away from him, and followed after your father and brother wordlessly.
"you can't run away from this, kratos. odin won't stop until we stop him!" freya called after him, but her words were only meant with silence.
he pushed open the door, and you stepped onto the yggdrasil.

JJK ending sucks but what's new
The only ppl who will see this have already heard me complain but I'm gonna do it AGAIN 😈
jjk has always kinda been a mid shonen type thing but I usually like them so I wanted to watch it. I watched the first season when it released and it good but it wasn't good enough to get me reading the manga.
Then s2 came out and I kind of absorbed a lot of content through social media osmosis and it seemed pretty interesting. I only ended up watching it cuz one of my new friends watched it and another one also wanted to watch it so we watched it together in school while the teachers would side eye us 😓
I actually kind of liked it. I genuinely love a lot of the characters, like I think they're interesting in a ton of ways but sadly most of it never got explored. Most of the charas didn't get actual arcs and for the ones that did, it never felt finished or it would just feel so half baked. The plot has an endless amount of loose threads it's not even funny.
More than the actual media itself I enjoyed the process of consuming it. I loved searching up the leaks every Thursday with my friend and the fandom was funny asf too.
The fights were great too, and that's probably the only reason I found s2 to be so entertaining. But I feel like most of that credit goes to the animators and shit instead of Gege himself.
As much as I hate on the aot ending, this ending is WAYY worse. If you ignore the aot ending, the rest of the show can definitely stand on its own. The ending might even be good if you view it through a different perspective.
But jjk doesn't have that. The ending itself isn't bad. It's just that the series feels so incomplete which is what makes it so shit. I haven't seen a single person say it's good so far which rlly says smth. Can't wait for some fans to come along and be like "erm u just didn't understand the story ☝️🤓"
I don't even wanna get into all the details on why the series sucks cuz there's way too many I can list. But the main reason I hate the ending is cuz the series had SO MUCH POTENTIAL.
The characters and themes and plot were pretty good, they just needed to be explored more and it never happened and it sucks so much cuz it could've been so great and actually have smth to say.
Maybe I expected too much from a series called Sorcery Fight because there were indeed sorcerers fighting and that's pretty much it.
I might be wrong for criticizing it so much considering I haven't even read most of the manga. I just started skimming leaks every week after Gojo died like most ppl did and skipped over the previous arcs (although I did look at summaries) so maybe it'll be different if I actually read all of it at once but I doubt it. Maybe the pacing would be slightly better but that's it.
I just get mad whenever I think of what could've been. I genuinely hope someone rewrites it and does it justice even tho I'll prolly never read it.
It's just another case of "this piece of media would've been so good if it was actually good."

I've never really gotten why people are so into Loustat. Maybe if you only read the books? But in the show they're just not happy most of the time. And of course there's the whole domestic violence aspect of it. Whereas Loumand WERE happy together most of the time. They had interesting discussions, enjoyed art together, had long walks, and were sexually compatible. Yes of course there's the horror with Claudia, but as a couple, they were happy. So what's up with that?
it's hard to know where to start to answer this cuz there's so much I could get into. I'm gonna skip the book history cuz wiki is right there, but yah it's basically a book thing. they were the relationship that ppl wanted to see the most, bcuz they started the series (which wasn't a planned series to begin with) and ppl wanted to see them grow and heal their issues. anne rice had personal grief issues attached to their creation and louis in particular. that's why he's moved aside for a lot of the series but does return more in the end as a main, romantic focus.
all the vampires are p polyamorous, so even if there's main focuses at times, they are constantly moving around each other. loustat *are* going to be the underlying show focus, they've said, and they don't have to sideline louis like the books did if they don't want to. I expect they'll make him more prominent and generally make a better flowing story in a lot of ways than the books.
loumand is v short in the books but it's similar to the show in that louis is seeking someone who he thinks has more answers to life's meaning than lestat ever gave. the show deepens that a bit more too by making them both men of color who would understand similar ways of surviving in the world than lestat as a white man understood.
(as an aside to all the book stuff too, it has to be said that part of the fandom's preference of loustat is bcuz it's a relationship that has a white man in it tbh. it's not like ALL loustat ppl are racist or anything, but "loumanders" has been used in place of a racial slur here for a while so it's still def part of it from some. ppl will always say it's not racist, it's from the books....but........it v obviously both sometimes)
the show has also drastically changed the timeline of these relationships as well. the books had loustat lasting 60-70 years for the IWTV arc of it. loumand...I can't remember the exact time, if it's given, but it's a LOT shorter. the show has rly fleshed out both relationships in ways much more than the books give us.
re: the DV. armand is also abusing louis too tho. the show's addition of the drop is new but louis and lestat physically fight in the books a lot, and lestat is emotionally abusive. however, armand is abusive too, with his ability to get in other vampire's heads. the book relationship feels entirely forced in a lot of ways tbh. bcuz of louis' connection to humanity (idk if this is outright stated or my own thoughts), he's easy to mentally manipulate as a vampire. it happens a few times to him, but armand is the first.
so armand and lestat are kind of two sides of the same coin in a lot of ways. as individuals and as partners to louis.
I am interested to see where the show takes them all, bcuz lestat and armand *also* have a history.
I think the show is doing and will do a better job at exploring all these relationships and growing them out. where loustat is now won't always be who they are, same for whatever loumand becomes. all of these vampires still exist around each other in some capacity, bcuz their community is so small. they all have a history with each other somehow. the books never explored that v well but I expect the show to do it. claudia's death hangs over all of them and it's never addressed with armand again in the books, so I'm wondering how the show will do it. but it's an event and a grief (at least for loustat) that connects them all forever and is a major player in how loustat exist forever after and talk about themselves too.
so I literally don't blame anyone for disliking loustat for where it's at rn. I mean, u don't have to ever like it tbh! but we're v early for seeing all of this and getting the foundation for where the story is going from here on. I obviously don't know for sure, either, but this is the start of where everything else will branch off.
a lot of book ppl are trying to cram everything into the first series mainly bcuz ppl don't like seeing lestat being judged the way he is. but....this is supposed to be a long series? everything is not going to happen in S1 and S2 that mainly stem from book 1. I wish ppl could just relax and let the story tell itself. there were years in between the books being published, sometimes not even knowing another book was coming at all. the show is telling its own story and it's ok to go at the pace of where it's leading us.
omg this was long. idk if I rambled more than answered anything but lol. u can always ask more if u want.

Hi! I really like your content, and I've been following you for a while but never done one of these before.
I was wondering if you had any tips for creating a writing blog?
thank you so much for the support! hopefully what I include is at least somewhat helpful!
first, i think it's important to note that a lot of my success comes from the circumstances surrounding the startup of my blog. i began to write for obey me during 2020, with my first work getting posted around may. this is important for two reasons: not only we're we in lockdown, leading to an insane increase in engagement from 2020-late 2022, but also since the game released in dec 2019, I was one of the first people to write for it, thus meaning I was filling a niche that had in increased demand. my point in this is to say that I attribute a lot of my success to these factors, and not necessarily to any actions that I took or inherent talent lol
also note that these tops are based in my experience and experience only, not in any science or data!
general tips:
don't expect to blow up overnight! i've been writing fanfiction since 2018 and i only started gaining traction in late 2020 haha. and in that time, don't be afraid to just throw stuff at the wall until you find something that sticks. set boundaries! if you get to a point where people are being demanding, unkind, leaving hate, asking for too much, doing anything to rub you the wrong way, shut it down. thankfully I've only had to do that like twice (as usually my followers are lovely and understanding), but it's important to remember this is your blog and your rules
writing tips:
play around with style, tone, themes, elements, etc until you find your groove. my works do span stylistically, thematically, plot-wise, etc, but commonly they're lighthearted and sweet, as I find that's what I like to write the best. find what you like to write the best! edit edit edit! once you're done writing, read through it once or twice to find typos/stuff you don't like, then when you move it from wherever you're writing (as I do not suggest writing in tumblr) look through it again as the new format and sizing will allow you to catch more. then, if you're still unsure, wait overnight and look through it again the next day before posting. but it's also not the end of the world to have typos if you get constructive criticism (given in a kind way ofc)... it's in your best interest to at least evaluate your work before deciding to take it or not. don't just dismiss it. reflection leads to improvement! when I first started writing I didn't even put dialogue into different paragraphs and without some nice comments who knows how long that might have lasted lol if you're struggling with writing block or can't seem to finish up a piece, give it a break. don't keep kicking a dead horse. I've had pieces that I start and don't come back to until like 9 months later lmfaooo
technical tips:
blogs that are centered around 1 (to 2) fandoms tend to do better. this is because ppl don't like to follow creators if there's also a bunch of random stuff appearing on their dash in between works. this is why I utilize sideblogs (i tend to post obey me and haikyu (to a lesser degree) on this one, and i have one for batman, one for another book series, and one for more personal poetry and stuff) a good and aesthetically pleasing layout is going to really go far. if you're blog and works look professional and attractive, they're going to pull people in. what this means is to come up with a blog theme/layout that is unique and fits the vibes of you and your writing, have a unique pfp (so not one of the of tumblr ones), and make sure your works are organized with a clear layout that's standard across your blog (this also helps create a 'blog identity'). feel free to look at mine for inspo obv or as you scroll through popular blogs/tags try to pick out elements that you'd like to incorporate. tagging is your best friend. i always start with the most important/broad ones (i.e. #obey me, #obey me game), then go into relevant relationships (i.e. #mammon x you, #mammon x mc), then characters (i.e. #mammon obey me, #obey me mammon), then anything else. this order can be changed if you have trigger warnings, which i'd say to put first. also, do not spam tag or tag thing's that aren't related in an effort to gain viability as that will actually make people less likely to engage. as with layout, try to standardize your process/blog specific tags so they create a 'blog identity' (such as my #leviawriting or #from: levi tags) be kind and interactive! if people leave you nice comments, respond to them! answer asks, have conversations, make new friends! this will make your experience much more fun and bring a lot of joy, and also make people want to talk to you
that's really all i can come up with right now! obviously if anyone has more tips feel free to tack them on and if you have questions send them my way!

But hear me out—
At this point, they’re practically moving like any BL couple would. I mean, look at the events they do together, the games they play at fan meets—it’s all very couple-like. Even the actors and directors are openly shipping them, and the audience is eating it up! Let’s be real, the only thing missing from High School Frenemy to make it a BL is a kiss. 😆 The tension? The lines? They know exactly what they’re doing! Even the series editor seems to be keeping up with the shipping.
It doesn’t feel like they’re avoiding the BL angle intentionally; it’s just how things played out, they got big doing a bromance series so.... If I remember correctly, wasn’t Wu a last-minute addition? I think there was a staff member who went live and mentioned they were surprised that the story ended up leaning toward SkyNani. I don’t know all the details, but I’m happy with whatever they’ll offer us in the future. Hahaha. Of course, I’m still praying for them to eventually do a BL together. 😭
Honestly, based on what I’ve observed, I don’t think Sky would mind doing a BL with Nani. Have you seen him in Nadao? With Tor? HAHAHAHA. Sky seems open to these roles (I guess). With Nani, though, I’m not entirely sure what he thinks about it. Either way, it’s up to them, and I’ll support whatever they decide. HAHAHA! 🌷
AHAHA THEY AREE 😂 the heavy cobranding with all the events right now (gmmtv’s response to the sudden popularity) combined with skynani’s obvious enthusiasm and appreciation towards it makes me think they’re gonna be paired together (in whatever capacity) for the near-while. all the shipping's an inevitable consequence of that, and tbh I love how everyone (other actors and industry ppl included) are having so much fun with it right now 😌🫶🫶
Your second part’s so interesting !! I never rlly thought about it like that, but it would make sense that they’re kinda just vibing things out lol, no one expected hsf as a non-ql series to get as big as it did, so everything’s been kinda unprecedented since (also why a lot of the promos are so couple-y – I feel like that’s the only way gmmtv knows how 😭) Seconded, I’ll continue manifesting the skynani bl for sure, but honestly I’m pretty happy with whatever we get with them, and even though wu’s a bromance series I already know it’ll be gay as hell 😌😌 (like hsf was already like that without any expectations on it lol)
Yeahh skytor are too cute, I love all the nadao gang 🫶🫶 (rip) and with jjtor pairing up as well in smym (I will never get over this, my og ship), the sky’s the limit ahskdjfk
Also this is complete speculation and just my opinion, but yeah i do agree that sky would be on board with doing a bl rn, nani not so much, but again we don’t know these people, I will be patiently waiting for what’s next and whatever happens happens 😌😌🙏

okay watching my way through the gmmtv 2025, trailers lets gooo!
— dare you to death: this one actually looks like it could be fun! historically i'm not the biggest JoongDunk girl but they suit this sort of action genre well (seems they're escaping the uni bls between this and THK haha and I approve.) Imma keep my eye on it!! Feels like something I'd enjoy. Also side-note but i got all excited when i saw Pahn in the trailer. But is she the one who gets poisoned right off? I hope not, but I didn't notice her pop up again in the trailer after that intro sooo. anyway she was the actual highlight of My Love Mix-Up Th for me and I'd love to see more of her!
— head 2 head: initially i was like oh this looks like it's trying to do bad buddy vibes (less well lol) or smth but then it got a supernatural twist?? it ended up looking quite sweet, but i probably won't check this one out unless I see cute stuff from it all over my dash haha. I feel bad about that bc I LOVED Keen in 'Only Boo!' and he seems like a sweetheart here too. (i'd be interested to see him in a different pair sometime but the chances feel unlikely with the way gmmtv works lol)
—burnout syndrome: no real thoughts on this but that one character's art style is quite pretty? honestly i still have to finish Not Me (I loved it so far but never got past like ep 3 😭) and don't have many opinions regarding OffGun yet. Again, I'll see how my dash influences me or not. I will say there's a distinct underlying vibe to the trailer (which does feel reminiscent of Not Me) so I'll keep an open mind
—Whale Store xoxo: CUTE GL SIGN ME UP!! i hope to love this more than 23.5, MilkLove deserve that from me. Also eyy, not a high school show--nice!! And did you SEE the cute lil shots and the MONTAGE at the end and and and?? teeheehee. Going on the watchlist.
—Only Friends: Dream On: okay so Only Friends take 2 but different actors really did end up a reality, huh? Was feeling kinda meh but then Boston showed up ahah. Not sure how much he'll feature, though. And I have QUESTIONS. Why is he still out here helping ppl with final projects, did he not end up going to the U.S., and what about Mix walking into the end of s1? OH WAIT. sorry this sorted out in my head just now. I bet this takes places at the same time as S1. Boston probably knew both groups while in school, but was less in with these guys. (So like, imagine—when Mix enters the scene in s1, does that lead into a universe where BOTH of these messy groups end up merging into one giant flaming ultra-mess?) Anyway I'm still obsessed with the original OFTS but I don't necessarily expect to check this one out. Side-note: I do miss the more grungy aesthetic ngl, but I guess we owed a lot of that to Sand.
—That Summer: Neo!! sorry he showed up in the first few seconds and it made me happy. Prince Satang washed up on the beach. That shot is giving genderswap little mermaid hahaha. I'm not like super gripped by the trailer overall BUT it'll probably check it out for the actors? Congrats to them for getting main leads!! (Also Fawn if u see this YOU WERE RIGHT. Royalty SatangWinny was on your bingo card, you called it.)
—My Romance Scammer: Probably won't watch this series but heyyy, look at them using weddings as part of the plot! Also. MarkJunior! (They were the best part of Cherry Magic Th for me.)
—Melody of Secrets: Idk could be interesting? I mean there's murder and mysteries, so. Not at the top of my list tho. But: Jan!! She's been amazing in every series. If I check this out she will likely be the reason.
—Love you teacher: boy u don't sign up to be a teacher to follow your boyfriend and then learn to enjoy children along the way. YOU NEED TO CHOOSE THIS JOB BC U LIKE AND CARE ABOUT KIDS OR THAT ISN'T FAIR TO THEM OMG. yeah I work with children, this is personal haha. Okay sorry, paused the trailer to rant i'll be right back.
... okay that was a plot twist uh. i don't think this one is for me lol
—MU-TE-Luv: So like, overall I'm 'eh' on this but it has Jan and Keen and Jamie and Neo in drag?? I feel like there's too many plots to hold together, though. 7 pairs, that is a LOT. Might enjoy some of it through tumblr gifs haha
—Cat for Cash: Cackling at the voiceover "i'm a debt collector" as First rolls around with a pile of kitties LMAO. These silly vibes remind me that, OH YEAH, I love his comedy work. (This Shipper and his scenes in Wake Up Ladies??) Oh my GOD did that woman have special cat-whispering powers and then transferred them to First in death?? This could be fun wait. Comedy First + supernatural element, always good. Oh and here's Khao looking so pretty :) FK vibes are FK-ing... look at them pulling OFF this cute fluff piece! <3 *stamps emphatically* WATCHLIST (ok hits unpause) ... SATANG?? ooo 👀 Also sorry I know he's all sad but... laughing as Khao's character cries and starts his list of reasons for running off with "the cats here hate me" 😂 / first: THE CATS ALWays TELL ME HOW MUCH UR MOM LOVED U lmao this is so unserious i love it. Leave it to me to have the most exciting piece on the list be the FK one. And I also get a dose of Satang! (Good to know that even if I drop That Summer I'll still have him somewhere! <3) Anyway didn't expect to be as hyped for this title as I am but HERE WE ARE
—Girl Rules: pretty pretty pretty. THIS LOOKS FUN, I love the messy love triangle vibes hehe. I hope we actually get to see the mixed-up pairing moments too, like a real shot of the NamtanLove kiss etc 👀 it's giving slightly toned-down fem only friends. Let them kiss everybody pls pls. Regardless, I'm hyped for this one !!
—Boys in Love: oh, side couple has the guy who played Half in MLMU. He was good in that. Probably won't watch it but *shrug*
—My Magic Prophecy: Not many thoughts but this could be good? I'll keep my eye on it
—A Dog and A Plane: Unexpected but I might keep my eye on this too! Looks fun.
—Me and Thee: I mean it's PondPhuwin, of course I'll give this a go. Look like it could be entertaining :)
—Wu: They're really leaning into the fortune-teller aesthetics this year haha, this is like the 4th trailer featuring tarot cards i think?
—Mamoir of Rati: AouBoom leads WHEN?
—Ticket To Heaven: OOH we digging into the religious themes and guilt here huh. GemFourth IN DRAMA ROLES AGAIN, THEY HEARD ME!! YES!! YESSSEUGIHI. ugh Fourth acting his lil heart out. I am SEATED. Darn we ended on a high note here HUH. This might be one of my faves in the bunch actually
/
Obviously my dash might pull a couple things to the forefront for me—and I might check out but then ditch some things— but as of now these are my reactions! Gotta say it's a SHAME that there are only two GLs though. Cry. But overall I am HIGH KEY looking forward to some stuff xD
A recap for the benefit of my future self haha:
Dare you to Death - joongdunk Whale Store xoxo - milklove That Summer (?) - satangwinny Cat for Cash - fk Girl Rules - multi gl My Magic Prophecy (?) - jimmysea A Dog and A Plane (?) - taynew Me and Thee - pondphuwin Ticket To Heaven - gemfourth
Anddddd. Now we wait! 😂

☕️ How do you feel about horror films in the 2010's? What were some of the best and worst to come out of that decade in your opinion?
oh hmmmmm let's look at what i've seen that came out in the 2010s
great, really loved - tucker & dale vs evil (horror comedy that will always be famous. to me.); get out (i like us and nope as well but get out to me is like the tightest writing of the three. and then nope and then us.); it ch1 (i have a fond memory of seeing this on my birthday so i have a bias for it :]); annihilation (i love sci-fi horror films so fucking much. ik there's big differences between the book and the film but i cannot wait to read the book anyway!); mandy (i have got to get high and watch this. epic film)
good, decent film - black swan (i do not get what the discourse is around this movie. no it's not the most mind-blowing film experience but idk ppl act like there's nothing worth redeeming in it.); the cabin in the woods (this is a p good movie, do not get me wrong, but it would've been better without the joss whedon stink on it); paranorman (will probably get bumped up a notch once i've rewatched it tbh); what we do in the shadows (mockumentaries i love u); crimson peak (can i just take a sec to say media literacy is ass on this site bc of that one post about crimson peak.); green room (wanna rewatch this one bc its premise is right up my alley); the boy (benefits from Better Than I Was Expecting); happy death day (groundhog day plots are really hit or miss for me but i did like this one. i support women's wrongs.); a quiet place (i need to see the sequels bc i hear day one is good but this was def a unique premise and i liked how the end product turned out); color out of space (goes on a touch too long imo but i'd love to watch it again); us (i still enjoy us just not as much as get out or nope. there's some clunkiness in us.)
a little mediocre but i'll put it on - my soul to take (no real notes on this one other than not being big happy w its ending); grave encounters (probs a little higher up on the meter bc i do enjoy saying 'im lance preston and this is grave encounters' at random); american mary (also on the higher up side bc i'd like it to have been. idk. gorier? also the ending felt kinda anticlimactic.); the babadook (film got spoiled for me long before i sat down to watch it. my partner despises it. i just wanna know why no one has pointed out that the kid is obviously autistic and him being presented as a burden is kinda fucked up); hereditary (i think this is a decent melodrama, and ari aster is not untalented, but oh my gooooood people piss me off about this movie lmao and the mom sounds exactly like my mother.); mom and dad (the parts w the parents i think are much stronger than the parts w the kids but interesting concept for a short story.); it ch2 (i think it doesn't quite match up to pt 1 but it's not bad. i might rewatch it and see how i feel.), ready or not (i'd love to rewatch this one and have my mind changed on it)
i don't remember this one love and light - the woman in black (i'll give this a rewatch later); the purge (i only have the vaguest memories of what happens in this one bc i watched it at 2 am w some classmates while studying abroad); it follows (i see both a lot of love and a lot of hate for this movie so i kinda wanna rewatch before i settle on an opinion)
boring - fright night (i watched this in high school bc i really liked david tennant but i tried rewatching it as an adult and i couldn't get hooked); the conjuring (i'm so sorry to everyone who loves these films but i could NOT get into this.); the witch (sorry.)
i dont recommend tbh - saw 3d (not one on my rewatch list in the series but it's also not the worst film in the set on account of it not being jigsaw or spiral); in fear (i watched this while studying abroad in scotland and i got very let down at just how little was going on in this film.); tusk (parts of this movie i was struggling not to laugh at. didn't feel bad for the main character in the least. not nearly as disturbing as everyone kept making it out ot be imo.); the love witch (i thought 'oh this has to be a critique of rad feminism it's too campy to be taken seriously' but alas i was wrong); midsommar (i am keeping my mouth shut on my real opinion of this movie.)
abysmal. sorry. - dark shadows (i will admit there are burton films that i still find joy in but this is definitely not one of them. really weird movie from what i remember); silent hill: revelation 3d (idk how they fucked up worse than christoph gans but they did!); jigsaw (how the fuck do you make a saw movie that's BORING. booo logan we hate ur pussy!)
woah sorry i just looked a t a list sorry this is like a massive wall of text.

Remember when people where hyping up code to be this unstoppable guy to turn up to be ultimate fraud
Yeah, I had high hopes for Code, so much potential and his introduction was a MASSIVE hype for his character
Like look at this
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is how we get officially introduced to him, and both Kawaki and Amado emphasize what a huge threat he is and how hes different from the rest.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Code is literally Sakura on steroids, this is literally the Sakura vs Sasori fight setting up massive hype for where her character was gonna go from there and just doing jack shit with that potential, then waiting till the FINAL arc of the series near the very end to make her awaken her biggest achievement, only to immediately be overshadowed by Naruto gaining a even greater healing achievement.
Code is that level of wasted potential but a million times worse because hes supposed to be a main villain, Sakura had an excuse as a healer to stand back, Code is a main VILLAIN and is one of the main THREATS to the main cast and we're introduced to him literally murdering ppl with ease.
So Code doesnt get to just 'step back' because thats not what he was setup to be, he was setup to inherit Isshiki and the Otsutsuki will and become a GOD who would carry out their will [the whole divine tree spiel]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I want you to REALLY pay attention to what Isshiki said here because this is a huge reason why Code had massive expectations on him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That is an INSANE amount of expectations placed on this character, Codes gonna somehow create a divine tree? eat the fruit and become a new Otsutsuki? eventually become a god? just how strong is he with his limiters off if Kawaki and Amado are already scared of him with them on? the expectations were endless
But then...the worst possible thing happened for not just Codes character and relevance as a main villain, but also the manga as a whole.
Tumblr media
This bitches introduction right after Codes....Code didnt get more than a few pages killing ppl and being hyped but by Amado and Kawaki before he was immediately overshadowed by Ada, we didnt know that would be the case at the time, but this one page is single handedly the moment Codes entire character was doomed for failure.
Instead of the unstoppable menace avenging his god Isshiki and carrying out the Otsutsuki will for him as his final wish like we were promised, instead we got this goofy ass team rocket trio and Code is quickly replaced once hes outlived his use to the eye poison siblings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Little did we know how right Bug was about him being all bark, because in the timeskip he's beaten effortlessly even by Boruto who he, according to the power scaling set by Ikemoto with these statements, should be stronger than an imperfect vessel Jigen, who literally beat full power Naruto and Sasuke 2v1, so either Boruto is more powerful than Jigen, Naruto, and Sasuke combined, or unlimited Code is just a got danm joke that was never a real threat to begin with.
As Bug said, Code was all bark, he took down some fodder, got hyped up just to live up to NONE of it and not only got replaced by Ada and Daemon, but by his own danm army he built for 3 years straight, all of which happened due to HIS carelessness.
His rivalry with Kawaki was also a huge point of intrigue, ppl wanted to know more about their relationship in Kara, how their current conflict with eachother would play out [Code avenging his god, Kawaki protecting Naruto] and there was just a whole lot of intrigue and potential that could've been played with there but again, absolutely nothing was done with it, its just a one sided beef that Kawaki could care less about, except he did care about it because he was havin PTSD flashbacks about him in the lab and went to confront Code personally to appease him by sacrificing himself since he knows how much he hates him
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
but again just another interesting dynamic just forgotten by this incompetent writer that seems to forget one of the main things that made Naruto so good and memorable [the villains and character dynamics]
Code is an even bigger example than Sakura of wasted potential, a guy who had literally EVERYTHING to be one hell of a main villain, an absolute menace our main cast would really have to struggle with, he could've potentially became Madara levels of unstoppable and Ikemoto just threw all that shit out the window, ironic because Kishimoto wanted to kill off Code but Ikemoto spared him just to do jack shit with him, he reduced him to a comedy villain on a similar level to Drakken from Kim Possible.
Thats the one death I was glad Ikemoto didnt follow through on, because Code had so much potential that I would've hated to see wasted, but if Kishimoto read the drafts of what Ikemoto had planned for him, maybe Kishimoto was tryna spare him the embarrassment and the waste of time his character would end up being as we see now.

Okay I would like to ramble rq bc you are the best one for calling out the series. But the MISOGYNY is going crazy. Let's talk abt our favorite boy crowfeather.
He learns his lesson.. OMG GUYS HES NOT MESSING UP AND DOING BAD SHIT ANYMORE.. LEADER RIGHT HERE
It's giving brambleclaw (we don't give him respect of bramblestar) but like how is it that once a male character suddenly "learns" he's perfect as a character and leader? And everyone is okay with it? Leafpool had her lesson learned FOREVER and no one accepted it and kept shaming her except for like 2 ppl. And Lizardstripe? How dare she not want kits? Wow what a monster for not wanting to make being a queen her whole personality. Let's make her "ambitious" bc an ambitious woman is a bad one. Like.... ??????? It confuses me sm bc I thought it was good for ppl to be ambitious? The problem is they labeled tigerclaw as "ambitious" and "bloodthirsty"(he is) so everyone associates "ambitious" with bad. But tigerheart is ambitious and he's a good guy(sorta not rlly). But she wasnt ever ambitious again after her kits left the nursery so like? So idk???
And squilf... oh squilf.. only known as brambleclaws mate. Like that's all she's written for I swear, promoting brambleclaw, fueling the feud between brambleclaw and ashfur, omg firestars daughter, like she has a personality sure, but not one that's used.
And how about Brooke? From the mountain tribe? She was well written sure, but after the whole trip and her and stonefur went back for help she wasn't relevant.. like at all. She was then known as the cat who married a clancat and saved the tribe but she wasn't appreciated like firestar after saving the clans. Like ik there's kind of a difference there but I mean cmon she still worked hard and didn't get a lot of recognition! I love her character but she lost any and all personality after the one arc. And half moon.... she was.. interesting. Ppl can interpret her character so many different ways but I think she was literally a book device to add drama and pain to jayfeather. They needed him to have a reason to be connected to the tribe so they invented a shecat to be his mate or wtv. I mean she had a personality but no purpose other than to fuel jayfeather and his angst.
HOLY CRAP THIS IS LONG IM SO SORRY DEER I GOT PASSIONATE😰
YOU'RE GOOD! Crowfeather my detested. Proof that an abusive father can not only blame his mate for shit she didn't do (no she did not turn Breezepelt against Crowfeather, go read Outcast PLEASE) and have it be held as canon for years until it's retconned in......the super edition where the abusive father has to have his hand held by onestar, nightcloud, heathertail, feathertail, AND ashfoot in order to learn that Wanting Your Son Dead is Actually Bad. In a fascinating turn of events, this was then taken as a compelling story by fans instead of the most blatant double standard I've ever fucking seen.
Crowfeather gets a promotion for learning that abusing his son might be icky, but Leafpool get humiliated, berated, and threatened to be thrown in cat hell for doing everything right for the children that StarClan manipulated her into having. Fun.
For Lizardstripe, well. Ambition is okay as long as it's not a woman who doesn't want to feel confined by the strict expectation that she have babies and also accepts that the father has zero obligation to help her and will face zero repercussions for doing Fuck All. But it's a-okay, Yellowfang's Secret assured, because Lizardstripe would be happier if she just mindlessly accepted the duty of every she-cat is to have babies and those that don't want that are abusive monsters.
Tumblr media
squilf deserves an essay on what she's been trhough good LORD poor girly. it's what makes her compelling in many ways, the trials and tribulations she's been through, and stripping it would just make her lose a lot of her spark......but man is it frustrating to watch the authors endlessly fawn over bramblestar.
Brook and Half Moon I have no strong thoughts on. I think the document covering the anti-Indigenous writing in the series breaks down her issues way better than I can, and Half Moon and the original lake cats are like. very nothing characters to me lol wasted potential!

Hello! I saw your post on asking ab ppl's opinions on the DSMP and had so many thoughts to share I actually went to my pc to write this, lol. Long ask incoming, sorry.
I started watching the DSMP in august of 2020, specifically right after the Techno vs. Dream duel. At this point in time, the Dream SMP tag had only like ten posts--not exaggerating, you would scroll and see the same few posts over and over again cause there was almost no fandom. I followed the series pretty much religiously all the way up to the prison break, where I then basically had to stop watching cause my life was falling apart (paying attention to streamers all day every day causes you to fail classes, who knew?)
So I guess I don't have a lot to say on the ending, other than it certainly was an ending. I think the crew did a good job with what they had, I liked the realization c!Tommy had towards c!Dream and what was once an innocent intention of server unity twisting into something else. I think using the nuke to blow everything up to start anew was a cop-out, but I also know (or at least feel like) the server itself was falling apart IRL and they had to bring it to a conclusion somehow. (Because of that, I knew the server wouldn't get a "season 2")
You mentioned how you liked it on a thematic level rather than emotional, and it really made me think about how my own interest manifested. I was certainly invested in these characters and their stories, but I only carried an emotional attachment to c!Tommy and c!Dream (and DreamXD, but only because I love deities in fiction).
I think, story-wise, the DSMP had many elements that hit hard, c!Tommy's abuse being one of them. During the prison arc, when c!Dream is being tortured constantly by c!Quackity, a large part of the fandom rooted for c!Q because c!Dream was an abuser and deserved the dehumanizing treatment. And boy do I have some opinions on that, lol. Because of the nature of the DSMP, I never thought of it as a teaching element, and your comment on that only being prevalent to children's media struck a chord--because, yeah, that makes sense. The target audience for the DSMP is a bit skewed, because it does take place in an all-ages video game, but the storyline and characters themselves would never get a G rating. I always considered the DSMP to be a bunch of people having fun exploring the different ways they can write a story/character, without any real end-game in mind. They did marvelous, too, in my opinion. I don't believe the DSMP was ever meant to be a literary marvel, or whatever the video-game equivalent is, so for a bunch of then-friends just throwing ideas at a wall and seeing what sticks with the fans, it did it's job.
People now, coming into the fandom for the first time, or looking in from the outside trying to analyze it, don't understand it, imo. It's not that the narrative can only be experienced at the time it was written, because no, you can watch and re-watch it thanks to VODS and recap channels. But so many people hear stories of it being a great time and a great story with great characters and then analyze it to put it on a pedestal only to see that its a piece of fiction with many flaws. Not understanding that the SMP wasn't created to be role-playing server, that never even crossed their minds. It was meant to be a place to have fun and explore a snapshot. That's not saying the cc's shouldn't have made the story in the first place, it's just highlighting how out of control the SMP got due to influencers' fame and fun writing. It was a product of its time because everyone was together, quarantined, exploring how far they could go in a virtual setting. Sorry, rambling a bit. I just think that a sensation like the DSMP can never be repeated on such a scale, and that feeling is why so many outsiders expect so much.
Hope this makes sense, haha. Sorry it's not juicy discourse, but thanks for listening anyway.
No its fine, thank you very much for telling me this!
I initially started watching I think right before the exile arc started but by the time I figured out how to best watch it and caught up with it, it had already been going for a few days, then I followed along with it for a while until I lost interest sometime after the big clingyduo v. Dream fight. Then in late 2022 I was at a local comic con and saw someone in a ghostbur cosplay and some people carrying around a big lmanberg flag and it just made me feel so nostalgic that I wanted to rewatch/finish it, and because I thought it would be fun I also made this sideblog to liveblog it. Im pretty sure dsmp was already over or at the very least getting close to the end by the time I did that, so it gave me a kind of distance that definitely affected my experience with the show.
Like, I think if I had kept up with it throughout (what i would consider to be) its decline and then had to witness that ending after all that, I would definitely feel more negatively about it, so I understand why it was upsetting for a lot of fans, but as it stands, I can mostly just remember it as an overall good piece of media that started stumbling towards the last quarter or so and then ended in a way thats fine, although not particularly satisfying on an emotional level. Like, Dream and Tommy's whole storyline was essentially about the cyclical nature of violence and I think ending the cycle is the best way to resolve that kind of story and in theory, having them make amends before they both die together sounds good to me, but idk, in practice I just didnt like it lol. I think its mainly because their attempts to make Dream seem more sympathetic were kinda too little-too late; Dream didnt have his own pov when most people did which automatically dehumanized him in the eyes of the audience, which was brilliant for the manipulative and unpredictable villian character that he was, but I feel like the CCs didnt really realize that that was the case and didnt feel the need to show stuff from his pov, when it was actually vital imo
You said that people coming into the fandom now come into it with these expectations and I think thats true, but I feel like people who have been following it since the rp properly started also tended to put it on a pedastal because of how genuinely impressively good it was in the beginning, and then when the finale was Like That, a lot of them were insanely disappointed. I also think thats where a lot of the discourse revolving around the ending sending a bad message comes from — a lot of people think of it as something very polished like an actual tv-show when thats simply not what it is or ever was. Its just people fucking around and having fun, and when people just fuck around, theyre not really thinking about "being responsible to their audience" or whatever. Take it from me as a writer lol, I have plans for ya-novels that touch on serious topics and with those I do try to be mindful of the fact that my audience is younger (although teenagers are obviously not children and already dont need to be taught via their media anymore imo), but when Im just writing a little short story I'll usually make it as fucked up as possible just because thats fun to me, yknow

Thots On Bad Thinking Diary
⚠️Mild Spoilers⚠️
Just finished reading the entire series and damn it was so disappointing. OK, I knew the story was overall jackshit from before but I just wanted to know how badly a storyline can progress and although it was an agonising read in so many aspects, atleast I now know what a webcomic with no substance and only style looks like.
Like everyone else who despise this, I will also say that the plotline of this webcomic has to be it's biggest weakness. It doesn't even feel like they tried, it was so nonsensical and cliché. I did notice some comments saying how its all so highschool and while I do agree, it's not like drama doesn't happen in colleges/universities either lmfao trust and believe. However, it surely doesn't occur like the way it did in this comic which was VERY plot convenient. Plus the angst between the two protagonists isn't even that interesting. Rather it's the kind to literally make one pull one's hair coz ITS.SO.GODDAM.FRUSTRATING.💀 Like imagine a character being as frustratingly knuckleheaded as Yuna. I understand wanting to portray someone who has a hard time expressing their feelings but istg the way Yuna does it makes no sense at all at times, like you might as well loose braincells trying to figure it all out. On top of that, you have the romantic interest Minji who's the typical happy-go-lucky, head in the clouds protagonist who while atleast communicates better than her soon-to-be amour, still has her extremely childish moments. It might have been cute in some instances, but there were some moments where it wasn't even necessary. Atleast the antagonists in the webcomic are somewhat interesting, although they still feel too blasé. I think more time should've been given exploring their backstories as well. Would've been a 1000 time better than to waste entire chapters depicting SA between the protagonists of course. Like how does the author expect the audience to like Minji's supposed love interest when she can't even communicate and also has no regards for personal boundaries during intimacy lol.
And now onto the seggs scenes. I suppose this is more on the subjective side but again, very blasé. And sure, some people just prefer things the way it has been showcased in the webcomic and while I do respect the preferences of others, I will say that for a smutty GL, it's kinda boring. Like it's the same ol' 👆ing, where is the ✂️ing and 69ing😭 I'm assuming sapphic seggs is much more than that lol. A part of me feels maybe its the censorship, that some platforms don't want to showcase certain acts that are too "risky", maybe that's why seggs in GL sometimes feels too one-dimensional. Atleast we had some very copious scenes involving munching the carpet and tiddies. Still I'm not saying the seggs is that bad, atleast the consensual ones. Coz there are a few scenes that are guaranteed to make one feel uncomfortable. Plus there are scenes in which both the central romantic interests want to explore and be adventurous especially with toys however even then it feels like its somewhat performative. One more thing I have an issue is with the same ol top-bottom trope in smut. Like it's always about domination be it het or queer media. Like I really hoped for a switch at the very least but I suppose I was too optimistic lol. Ik this trope is prevalent in queer media and ik how its just the replication of what typically occurs in het interactions but this is a very far-reaching issue in smut and erotica in general and I'm fed up of how everything has to be about who gets to be in control and under control.
Would I go back to reading this manhwa again? Eh, no cause for all the buildup and intrigue it sure does end up being a total bummer. Too bad coz the artwork is very pretty. I hope Lily of The Valley is better. (Update: I'm only up to date with 6 chapters but yea, LOTV is no less different💀💀💀)
Again, no hate to the ppl who still ended up liking the manhwa, I'm just not living for it and hence decided to vent about it here :)

Bring Back Madison Post + Norman Posting Bethyl!
A couple of things to point out today. I'll start with the shorter of the two. Yesterday, Norman posted a reel from Still in his Instastories. Yay!
Tumblr media
It will still be there for part of the day today, if you want to check it out, but then it will disappear.
The next thing lots of people were sending me yesterday was this post from @feartwd on IG. It's about how/why they brought Madison back.
instagram
Here was my first reaction to it, which I sent to a follower on IG:
I think this is a hint. Sure, Madison had some fans who wanted her back, but not nearly as many as Beth. There was so much more “bring Beth back” after Coda than Madison ever had. I think this is them hinting that it could be true of other characters too.
And then my fellow theorists talking about it. I had not read their conversation yet when I wrote the above, but I had to chuckle because I did right after, and chimed in as you'll see below, and we all came to the EXACT same conclusions 😊:
@galadrieljones:
Hey friends. Interesting post from Fear AMC today. Am interview with Kim Dickens claiming that it was really due to the fan base and their vocal outcry to “bring back Madison” that the showrunners decided to bring her back.
Is this true? Look maybe there are like three dozen rabid Madison fans out there.
Interesting to me, because Beth had an actual real outcry that made national news, and ppl still actually do ask Emily about it, and they have been bringing Emily back to TTD as a fan favorite for years.
Is this tptb casually letting fans know that they listen and respond?
Once again, I can’t imagine the outcry was that big for Madison. I love Fear but frankly it’s just not that popular, and Madison was just not that good of a character.
@wdway:
I really don't think we can even compare the reaction between Beth and Madison death it's like day and night. The other thing is that Fear/tptb did not want Madison's being alive as a huge surprise remember last year, they announced it months in advance. The only unknown was when she was going to show up. The viewers had to wait till the very end of the season to see her. No surprise, no shock at all. In reading comments during that time there were just as many people if not more who didn't care for her character and didn't feel she needed to return as there were that were happy to see her.
@galadrieljones:
Yeah, if anything it seemed to inspire a lot of indifferent to slightly happy reactions. That said I see tons of ppl who are hopeful to see Alicia again.
@wdway:
Agreed. I'm one of those who is looking forward and hopeful of seeing Alicia again.
@galadrieljones:
Me, too!! She could be doing anything. I hope she’s gotten into some deep stuff with the CRM lol (I just want more info , but also, I liked her.)
@wdway:
I'm looking forward to watching Fear early on Thursday but I'm torn as to what I expect or hope to see. I don't expect to see any real hints of Beth because we're going to go into it with a time jump. There was be a lot of filling in information just from that happening. At the same time though they're not having a long season so they're going to have to finish the entire series in what, 12 episodes total?
@galadrieljones:
This random guy’s reply to the tweet about Madison being back made me happy because immediately I was like, “Hmm yeah would be a great idea to bring Emily back after Melissa pulled out of the spin-off” LOL
Tumblr media
@twdmusicboxmystery:
I’m LOLing bc I hadn’t read this yet, but someone sent me this post on IG and I had the exact same thoughts as you too. Shocker, I know.
Did 60K people sign a petition to bring Madison back? Did Gimple receive—what was it? 5000 or was it more like 20000–spoons from fans, demanding she be brought back? Nope. Only Beth. I honestly think they’re forcing the Madison story a little bit because they want it to be a template for Beth. That’s fine, but they’re definitely inventing more fervor than is truly there.
@galadrieljones:
Madison’s entire thing was “No one’s gone until they’re gone.” They’re absolutely using her to normalize radical returns of “dead” characters lol. And like I’m sorry I think that tag was totally astroturfed to make it seem like there was an outcry so they could use that as an excuse. Madison has been gone for many years. There’s no way to investigate that tag (#bringmadisonback) and to see how popular it actually was!! Just imagining tptb talking about the public outcry for Beth and how they finally listened after all these years. They’re extremely excited to have Emily back on set and can’t wait to reveal whats in store for her (and Daryl)
@twdmusicboxmystery:
Agreed! It’s been a long time in coming. Part of the reason I can’t wait for Fear is bc I’m sure Madison’s arc will be one great big template for Beth’s. Yay!
That's all. Just wanted to point out the suspiciousness of it. And could it possibly be significant that these things are being posted literally days before the final season of Fear starts? Hmmm. 🤔

WHAT NOT TO DO WHEN INTERACTING WITH MY BLOG - Customizable Edition
BASICS !

GENERALITIES ! Triggers people MUST tag: animal death Interest tracker / checker: I have it and it's mandatory | I have it, it's not mandatory but I'm more likely to follow bad / interact with the people who fill it | I have one and I prefer it if people fill it in | I have it but it's to people whether to fill it or not | I don't have one | other (specify) Reblog karma: I practise it | I practise it sometimes | I don't practise it | I always reblog memes from the source | indifferent | other (specify) Rule passwords: I have one and it's mandatory | I have one and it's optional | I don't have one | I send passwords | don't sent passwords | I have to hype myself up to send one
3-5 ESSENTIAL RULES PEOPLE HAVE TO RESPECT
please read my rules
please be patient with me. irl stuff can get in my way or leave me too drained to do stuff, even if i WANT to write
the basic stuff, no metagaming, godmodding, infomodding, etc
3-5 IMPORTANT PET PEEVES TO KEEP IN MIND
I am 100% okay with my rp partner not matching my reply length. Be it shorter or longer. (heck, if they make it longer then I'll feel better abt my next reply being longer.) HOWEVER, if I give a paragraph or two, I will expect more than one line. which is what I actually got one time.
if my rp partner goes into a thread with me assuming something about my muse even though I make it clear that my muse is canon divergent. I'm absolutely free to IM if you have questions! I'm friendly and don't bite, i promise. QwQ
when i can't figure out your blog. please, readability is the most important thing to me. which is why the most I do is small text. I will change my theme if I think even one thing is making it unreadable or even slightly harder to read. bright harsh colors as well, makes the blog a mess to read anything on.
not trimming your posts. it makes it hard to follow whats going on sometimes. even if tumblr now makes long posts auto readmore. (at least it does for me)
i do prefer that ppl tag their posts most of the time, but that's not really a requirement if it's not like for a trigger or something. it just helps me search for stuff on their blogs if i can't find it through our notes.
2-5 THINGS THAT WILL LEAD TO INSTANT (SOFT/HARD)BLOCKING
if the blog looks like a bot in some way
if it's a personal who has repeatedly reblogged something after being asked not to
if it's someone i've known in the past to make me uncomfortable
2-5 THINGS THAT LEAD ME TO UNFOLLOW / SOFTBLOCK A MUTUAL / SOMEONE I INTERACT WITH
ooc drama between people, vague posts, bullying
minor/adult ships
very rarely, if they're spamming TOO MUCH ooc stuff, untagged or other wise, in a short amount of time. I mean like, many posts that are actually ooc not having anything to do with their character. not like aesthetic posts, headcanons, or art. I'm also not talking abt like, PSAs or updates on the mun's health/lack of energy. i get that it's your blog. but i didn't want to follow a blog that's being treated more like a personal blog.
also very rarely, if my dash is going too fast and it's clear someone isn't going to interact with me i might unfollow just to make things easier for myself to keep up with. but again, that doesn't happen very often.
if it's clear a blog has been abandoned. if they show signs of activity later tho, i may refollow. bc i know irl stuff happens, u kno.
2-5 REASON YOU DON'T FOLLOW (BACK) SOMEONE
if their muse is from a series i am uncomfortable with. (used to love HP, but i can't look at anything from it now. for example.)
if they ASK why i haven't followed them back. just feels weird, man. I will then not follow out of spite for how uncalled for that question is. nobody is owed a follow. not even me.

Note
Amphibia and The Owl House for the ask! also hope your stomach gets better :(
Yippee my shows!! Also yeah I feel better now I just had to lie down for a while and drink a lot of water 👍
For TOH:
The first character I first fell in love with: ooh that's a toughie! I binged the first season right before s2 started airing so my memories are fuzzy. Maybe...Lilith or Willow? Luz hadn't quite cemented herself as my fav until season 2 and subsequent rewatches
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: probably Amity? I went into season 1 knowing she had a redemption but when I saw her in her first appearance it was on SIGHT. I really warmed up to her though over the course of the show, and now I enjoy her a lot! I'm proud of how far she's come. Also probably Caleb bc we knew so little about him at first that I didn't see how he could become a fan favorite for anyone. Then Hollow Mind happened and. You get it. OH WAIT LAST ANSWER FOR THIS- Camila! Not because I ever thought she was a bad mom but because I didn't think they'd give a parent character so much depth. I love what they did with her in seasons 2 and 3 so much
The character everyone else loves that I don’t: uhh maybe Belos?? In certain circles at least. Interesting guy but I don't have much fondness/affection for him, y'know? Or Alador. He's aight but clouds on the horizon made him a bit...flat, for me. Also this is less of a thing now but not too long ago BOSCHA oh my god. Ppl acting like the show not spending time on her was a failure like. Okay! Sure! Let's just say things now, ig! I much prefer what they did with her in ftf. It's not redemption exactly but it's acknowledgment that she's just a kid. A shitty kid but still
The character I love that everyone else hates: KIKIMORA MAN. I know I know I'm also mad they spent all of follies at the coven day parade building her up as potentially sympathetic only to steer away from that route again and again as if they changed their mind BUT. I fucking love this horrible fail creature. No backbone, no morals, no prospects, no bitches. Beefing with teenagers and exiled from her family home and place of business. Pathetic. Get her ass!!!
The character I used to love but don’t any longer: oh that's a complicated one. I know I also said she grew on me unexpectedly but the answer to this one might also be Amity. Not in the sense that I stopped liking her, but in the sense that other characters caught my attention more as time went on. Rip to Amity, still love u. I am just a Willow and Luz girlie
The character I would totally smooch: most of the women I am being real with you this show is overflowing with cute character designs
The character I’d want to be like: honestly? Eda. Yeah she's got problems and she's not the ideal mentor you'd expect but she's just such a cool confident older woman who doesn't let ppl control her life
The character I’d slap: I'd say Belos but that'd be too obvious (and rewarding). Instead imma say Boscha. This is not the right way to deal with highschool bullies but I do not care. This isn't about her. This is about me. And I wanna slap her just a wee bit. It's fine I'm not that much older than her I'm allowed to
A pairing that I love: sigh. Hubtlow
A pairing that I despise: b*schlow. Bully/victim ships I hate thee. Loathe thee, even. Also I definitely don't despise it but can I please stop getting l*nter jump scared. I don't go there let me out. Stop putting it on my feed
NOW FOR THE FROG SHOW AHAHA!!!
The first character I first fell in love with: unsure tbh! Maybe Polly but I know she definitely wasn't as violent/funny at the beginning of the series. Probably Anne or (depending on how fast I binged, I cannot remember) maybe Sasha
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Anne or Sasha I think! Both start off as like. Semi-unlikeable characters (Sasha more so than Anne), which I appreciate now in retrospect, but at the time I couldn't picture myself getting as invested in them as I got. Also. How would you guys feel if I said andrias (I DIDN'T WANNA LIKE HIM. EVEN WHEN HE WAS BEING A JOLLY GOOFBALL I KNEW THE OTHER SHOE HAD TO DROP AND I WAS PREPARED TO HATE HIM. AND THEN THEY INTRODUCED DARCY AND GAVE US THIS NEW DYNAMIC AND CONTEXT AND JUST. MAN!!!)
The character everyone else loves that I don’t: okay, it's not that I don't love her, but Marcy is definitely my least fav in the calamity trio. Again, not because I dislike her, I just like Anne and Sasha a lot more, y'know?
The character I love that everyone else hates: tbh I'm not in the fandom enough to know who is and isn't hated. Was Sasha ever hated? Maybe by some but idk
The character I used to love but don’t any longer: don't think this one really applies to anyone in amphibia? A weird one that kinda matches is I used to think valeriana was like. Mysterious and cool and then they didn't do much with her after the second temple and I was like. She's just kinda there now, huh?
The character I would totally smooch: IDK MAN THE SHOW IS 90% FROGS AND PRETEENS!!!! I AM NOT KISSING THEIR ASSES THEY ARE SLIMY (THE PRETEENS INCLUDED!)
The character I’d want to be like: again, 90% of them are frogs or preteens. Maybe Anne? I like how far she's come and how far she's still willing to go at the end, turning down ultimate power in the name of keeping the world safe and staying with the people she loves. Also I want cool anime powers /j
The character I’d slap: Sasha but only if it was s1-s2 Sasha bc I love her and I feel like she needs it. Girl. Get a grip
A pairing that I love: hehehe sashanne <3
A pairing that I despise: DON'T SHIP THE HUMAN GIRLS WITH FROGS. THAT FEELS LIKE THE EASIEST THING MAN!!!

Just finished listening to the last episode of season 1 of TMAGP and I'm gonna reflect on this post I wrote from last episode
First, I don't know if it was a rumour I heard that the episode would be twice as long? Or if this is just part 1? I'm not sure, but the 34 min mark kinda put a down on me before I even started it. But that might be my bad, I'm not gonna fault the series for that.
✨ SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT ✨
The twist with Celia? Gotta say, I didn't expect it. Honestly I thought it would've been Alice (which I still think is a possibility after she said "Not again." To the Hill Top entity) but Celia? Felt a bit out of nowhere. Although, we still don't know anything about who or what she is.
I would've liked a bit more questions answered for the finale while still keeping us at a cliffhanger. Everything is still in the dark. Still no idea what Colin's plot is about, which, to me, seems like the most interesting one. Gwen progressed a bit which I did like, but still have no idea what's going on with Lena. Alice's story is up in the air. Sam disappeared (which I don't think is the worst thing, but feels like just another question added to the giant pile we already have)
I do realize that not every question needs to be answered. I am a fan of unanswered questions and leave your imagination run free with the world and characters. I think my thing is that we have basically no clues to help us piece the puzzle together. Maybe there are some in the statements we are unaware of or that I missed, but for example: Colin. Clearly, he's a very important character for this series. He knows what's going on and struggles to understand it himself and communicate the danger. But, this last episode, we got nothing from him... We got a "I need help, now." And then got dismissed once again. I find that very annoying, personally. It makes sense for Alice to go to Sam, but I feel like there was an opportunity for her to ask more questions instead of being like "Nah, sorry, my ex is in danger and I need to go find him. Bye!"
Anyway, overall, it was alright. I'm still unsure if I'll listen to S2. Honestly, the only reason I might is because now that the Other World's are open to the characters, Jon and Martin might show up again. But, I guess we'll see... I really hope all of this will lead to greatness
As always, this is MY opinion of this season. If you enjoyed it deeply, I'm genuinely so happy for you <3
Feel free to share your thoughts! I'm curious to see what other ppl thought of this season of TMAGP
Tumblr media
Okay, I have some things to say about the first season of The Magnus Protocol... This might be a long one but I don't care ✨
SPOILERS OBVS IF YOU'RE NOT UP TO DATE
Tumblr media
I'd like to mention beforehand that I absolutely ADORED TMA, and I'm a big fan of Jonny and Alex's work. Maybe this is just me having too high expectations for this series, but I have spoken to some of my friends who also listen to this podcast and have listened to Magnus Archives and pretty much everyone agrees. So here we go
I'm not feeling it. I didn't enjoy this season at all in all honesty. The only moments that excited me was the lore we had for the TMA characters to which, as far as we know, have nothing to do with this story. It was all filler to please the fans which is appreciated, but every statement in this season felt unimportant. Sure, we had Mr. Bonzo and a couple others that we saw again as part of Gwen's work, but they never truly felt like a threat to me. If anything, most interactions they got felt coincidental more than anything.
Which leads to my second point, there was no action in the season and it made it political and boring to me :/ I understand that's this is how TMA kinda started as well, with a lot of build up and set up for the world. BUT, at least we got SOMETHING by the end of the season. There was real danger and survival instinct activated for the characters. TMAGP has none of that... They jump in, no questions asked and no questions answered. There's no thrill, there's barely any suspense. It feels empty.
And now the characters themselves. Well, except from the very charged introduction to all of them at once that lead many fans to be confused and have difficulty identifying each of them in the first few episodes, they are pretty mundane. None of their stories truly engage with me. Don't get me wrong, I still love them, but they feel a bit boring and all too similar to each other. They get lost in the plot and don't feel like individuals. It's like they're forgetting who they are in order to feed into the plot.
Now, with all of that being said, here's what I think could've helped make this a better series.
1. Make it a longer series. As of now, there's only one episode left which, yes, is supposed to be double length, but nothing has happened yet for me to want a second season. Even if it has taken an extra year or two, I would've rather waited. So, unless something very intense happens next Thursday, I don't think S2 will be in my "Need to listen" list. Too much setup, not enough fear. Like, I'm not even worried that Sam or Celia will die in the next episode. They have so much plot armor I'm certain they'll survive.
2. Make the statements have an effect on the characters. Only Sam seems to take interest in them. But with the others just setting them aside and ignoring the stories, it makes us feel like they're unimportant as well. And it sucks, cause TMA's statements had an effect on the characters and changed their ways of thinking. Now, they're just there to be there and not much is coming out of them.
So yeah, this is MY PERSONAL OPINION and I still want to support Rusty Quill for all the beautiful podcasts they create for us, but TMAGP was not it for me. I love this fandom, I love the lore and the writing itself, but the story didn't hook me in as much as I would've liked it to.
I might regret all of this by next week when the last episode comes out, but for now, these are my thoughts.
I'll get back to you all next week to share my overall thoughts on the S1 of The Magnus Protocol.
Feel free to comment or repost with your own thoughts! I'd love to hear if I'm alone in this or if people agree
Love you all <3
