actually making my tags from my last post into their own post. writers who struggle with grammar, spelling, typos, errors etc i love you. writers who struggle with rereading their stuff thoroughly no matter how much they try, who don't always have access to other people to help them read i love you. whilst reading through and checking for these things is good practice i really believe that the weight of it should not be put wholly on the writer's shoulders. especially writers who are neurodivergent, disabled, have any condition that can impede their reading + comprehension, are overworked and overtired, are not writing in their native language, list goes on....because grammar mistakes/language mistakes/typos have nothing to do with your abilities as a creative. this is where editors should be uplifting writers, helping them, not scrutinising them for something they cannot always control
#and in case anyone is going to say it...like i said in my tags i get that it can be frustrating#if it feels like a piece has NOT been reread or checked for these things at all#but even then its like...do you know the writers context? their background?#does the story itself still hold up strong creatively?#im just saying some leniency and grace goes far and esp in the short story/litmag scene i think#an editor who is considerate and inclusive should not use those things against a piece's worth#for me its like....1) the word spelling and grammar check is really confusing to work with sometimes#and also just. straight up does not work sometimes#and 2) no matter how much i reread and check for spelling and grammar i will forget a word. i will misuse a word. i will forget things#a bitch is forgetful! a bitch struggles with rereading their pieces and i do what i can to help that#but i need help and grace from the editors who wish to work with me!#i remember one time i wrote vacancy as vanacy in an excerpt in a writing update#literally passed me by and i was so humiliated?? nobody even pointed it out#but i assumed people were going to think of me less that i would make a simple mistake#its just...v hard and daunting being open with your writing sometimes lol lets all be kind to each other

⛔ if it's art I've done for other people of their own characters ( #for others ) please don't get a tattoo of it (unless you're the person the art is for)
⚠️ if it's art of my own characters ( #my ocs ) I'd prefer being asked in advance, because it varies!
✅ My non-original-character works - fan art and general art, and whatever else I'm forgetting - are fine to get tattoos of!

#okay not to be thinking about hetalia. Again#(but dec 20 is hetalia day For Me. and i just got that comment)#but god i really did go off with wdww#there's many. (MANY) instances of bits where characters are having a Feeling™ that i could write much better now#which is frustrating to see#but like. all things considered. not bad college me. not bad#i remember when i was going insane in germany i paid to have an editor look at the story#and they described the characters as having 'juvenile' emotions#and like that was harsh and it sure didnt make me feel good#but good god they were right#like i did a good job in the latest one shot i did for the zine. THAT is how the character's attraction shouldve been written#but instead i over use the word 'feels' and 'weird' and i just have to live with that#i learned a lot from writing these fics and ive learned a lot post them because of my critique group and professional editors#i wish i could magically apply that to them but alas. i will need to live with it#and resist telling people complementing them 'thanks but i like. i write so much better now!!!!!!'#anyway now im rambling.#miscellaneous#tldr; frustrated that i didn't really let the characters use words like fucking 'arousal' and 'attraction'#let's also blame this on me being asexual and having to figure out how to write about a feeling i dont have through trial and error but

ive perhaps found the most mediocre manhwa ever written. its like the most subpar thing ever and encompasses so many things i don't like people doing in one manhwa / storytelling in general. its actually amazing

fun fact about dragonlance
did you know the green dragon trapped within the dragon orb from the tower of istar was named Viper? cause apparently weis and hickman forgot about that.
Cyan Bloodbane was just the green dragon that met Lorac's summons when he tried to use the orb, but the narration in dragons of fate incorrectly sates that Bloodbane was the dragon *in* the orb.

I think the Simpsons was already influenced by nuclear power shock and pulp fiction and non fiction that already existed for a few decades. They're not really to blame uniquely for any lasting anti nuclear ideas in the popular consciousness, I don't think. Are you even aware of this triple album ? No Nukes: The Muse Concerts for a Non-Nuclear Future (1979) ? "We almost lost Detroit" might be the most famous song to appear on it, but I wonder how many people actually know that song, or Gil Scott Heron. Springsteen and Chaka Khan are on there, though, Crosby Stills & Nash, Tom Petty.

whatever maybe im being too hard on him specifically maybe the other execs in that article are right that he's just an easy target because he's the one passing on changes from all of them. but even so what kind of insane defense is that. "no this one guy isnt bad at his job! the employees are just mad at him because hes the point of contact for the rest of us, who are all bad at *our* jobs!"
#god remember when i said it felt like they werent really in control of the chaos in this movie? turns out they actually fucking werent.#maybe because the producers and directors couldnt decide on what to do and had animation staff with no guidance for SIX MONTHS?#and then had to crunch them for a year to make up for it!!! yeah you guys are right this is an unavoidable part of moviemaking (/S)#there was simply no way you could have possibly. had a handle on what you were doing and had the employees work consistently#on a normal schedule instead of giving them nothing to go on until the last minute.#between movie animating and video games like. these industries are making me lose my fucking mind.#its all so needless its just blatant failures of people in management#who make their employees suffer to make up for the exec's incompetence#just for those execs to be the ones who get all the royalties and acclaim. for work that was good largely in spite of them.#avpost#once again reminded of how the movie that won best editing this year was run by writer/directors who were actively on the sfx team#and therefore. actually worked with the editors and had a plan and gave the effects team what they needed.#but yeah no you guys at sony are right your way is clearly the only option theres just simply no other alternative im sure.#its clearly too much to expect of you guys. to manage projects like this. when its literally your job to manage projects.
