or can u suggest any txt fic here (preferably the long ones w chapters) that u enjoyed?
sorry for the extremely extremely late reply but iāll list some long fics + txt seriesās that ive enjoyed with some comments attached to each one. spoiler alert, a completed txt series is pretty hard to find lol
series
lover = lo$er (sub!gyu, virgin fic)
it would be easy to just straight up recommend every @/wildernessuntothemselves series and i might just succumb to that later on but this is pure submissive beomgyu heaven, served as my first real awakening and i would probably attribute most of my sub gyu writing to this fic alone. 10/10, has a love triangle bit and beomgyus kind of insane
criminal conscience (dom!gyu, crime au)
on the other side of the spectrum, this is pussy clenching dom beomgyu goodness and i dont think it gets better than this. the writing is so compelling it fully immerses you in the narrative, even im getting sucked in to beomgyuās manipulation (whats new really), blaring red flags and all. its currently on hiatus though but i would catch up either way beomiracles is a pretty consistent writer, sheād probably pick it up sooner or later :)
mosquito (soobin)
sorry this is going to be all over the place lol but this is also still ongoing (its only two parts in) but this writer is absolutely insane. narrative feels fleshed out and though it mainly follows soobinās perspective and feelings, i am quite enjoying it so far. it has some idol x idol action as well, not the main focus of course but it is written in detail
one way (dom!beomgyu, themes of sadism)
this ones a three parter and its completed. by the same writer mentioned previously (soobrat), very very good storytelling, keeps you on your toes and has a hold on your emotions but like mentioned, it has a bit of an extremity in the smut and it is undeniably toxic but its good
sneaky link (dom yeonjun, the other woman trope)
i havent read this in a while but i remember staying up all night reading all of it lol. i would probably not recommend this to people who really cant read infidelity since thats what the fic is based around but it isnt cast in a very favorable light anyway. really toxic, seriously good
fuck you series (sub gyu, enemies to lovers, band au)
its really cute and the e2l set up is believable enough since theyre band rivals. beomgyu is so so so cute in this even if a little insufferable to mc lol. i would also recommend fairyofshampgyuās now live series but its currently on an indefinite hiatus (its sooo good as well though so if youre willing, you should check it out)
nabi (best friends to lovers beomgyu, no smut)
two parts in, not completed but im following it currently and god i love them together their dynamic is soooo fun to read, you wont get bored
jerk! (enemies to lovers, beomgyu fic, no smut)
its another band au and its also ongoing. there isnt a consistent update schedule so that might be a minus but the most recent chapter was from a month ago so its safe to say it hasnt been left in the dust (thank god). very very good writing, excited to see how their relationship takes off
bullying choi soobin (sub soobin)
submissive soobin and its good, of course im recommending this. its finished and a 4 parter
sugar (dom!yeonjun, dom!gyu)
unfortunately probably forever incomplete but i love it and i might actually go back to reading it for the third time
let me into your world (non smut beomgyu series)
i havent read a soulmate premise in sooo long so this was refreshing to read, good stuff
supermodel (dom gyu and sub i believe)
its just. Amazing. a two parter but a goodie
the city that never sleeps (bsf smut)
also two parts but both parts are pretty long, really good stuff
ok for the life of me i cannot find this one huening series where he was getting bullied by reader and they were secretly fucking?? that one was literally perfect submissive men shit so if you find it if youve struck gold
long full fics (6k+)
telepathy (fantasy, dom!gyu)
a little out of the box compared to all the fics ive recommended so far and thats what makes it so special and good
duality (dom!kai)
i actually havent read this one yet but i will soon, i just thought id add it here anyway since i know ill love it
killer instinct (taehyun fic)
very plot heavy and it centers taehyun mainly. i could go ahead and cheat and just list out every single koqabear fic lmao but this ones a gem, very happy i set aside the time to read it
the redemption of choi yeonjun (dom!yj)
im not personally a fan of the trope but when it was originally teased the smut sounded heavenly and honestly, it is. such a good dom yeonjun here but beware hes a little (a lot) mean lol. he changes by the end
like cat and mouse! (sub gyu, inexperienced)
again, worth the reading time investment. i love submissive gyu, he is everything here and more
love love love (sub gyu, royal au)
i have probably read this a total of 30 times
i hate you (enemy!beomgyu, dom beomgyu)
ok sorry im cheating here a bit this isnt long but its so good you should check it out anyway
#hopefully this is a weeks worth of reading#i swear ive read more but combing my shit memory with tumblrs shit search function#is not the best#ā¶ āā rana ; answered

lol hi its me 12 am anon so uh tldr is that i hung out with my friend and we got drunk and we made out or smth but more importantly they made w fuckin list of dick grayson things i started talking abt while drunk
- ābad idea right?ā but its dick grayson and his exes
- bruce technically gave dick a family but dickās the one who like truly made it feel like a family when it comes down to it heāll fuck up bruce for his siblings
- that one ā5 man bandā trope and how he can fit as the leader and the heart
- into a specific (blank) to lovers? dick graysonās got you covered
- the ābarney from how i met your mother basketball hoop sceneā and āeleanor from the good place mom she never hadā but make it dick and bruce (teenage or adult idc iād love both)
- nightwing could 100% be the figurehead of the dceu (like im talking spiderman level) if dc would do something [this was timed . i talked abt this for like 30 minutes all on its own]
i am . so embarrassed. also i dont know if we made out before or after the rant and i dont know which is more embarrassing .
what. what. "more importan-" NO! NO ARE YOU KIDDING ME THAT IS NOT MORE IMPORTANTLY OH MY GOD!!!
MY MIND IS LITERALLY BREAKING RIGHT NOW!
WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THAT? Do you like her? Did she say anything?! I-
WAIT DOES THAT MEAN DICK GRAYSON LITERALLY GOT YOU TWO TOGETHER?!
NO WAIT!! SHE KISSED BACK. SHE KISSED BACK!
oh my god i'm reeling.
Have you guys talked about it yet?
I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS
I LITERALLY CAN'T THINK OF DICK GRAYSON RIGHT NOW AFTER THAT BOMB YOU DROPPED ON ME BUT FINE
"Bad idea right" was literally written for Dick Grayson!
Nightwing (1996) Issue #133
"Bad idea right?"
Actually every single Olivia Rodrigo's songs feels like Dick wrote it.
Like the sour album? Every time I listen to it I imagine that Dick just wrote the album because he was so mad at bruce after being fired from Robin lol.
"bruce technically gave dick a family but dickās the one who like truly made it feel like a family when it comes down to it heāll fuck up bruce for his siblings"
That's true too!
Batman (2011) Issue #11
"The truth is, I didn't save you from some dark fate, those years ago. You saved me from one."
Batman (2011) Issue #11
"And you still are saving me, every day."
Bruce gave Dick security but Dick gave Bruce a life. He gave Bruce the ability to become human, to be happy.
Take Gotham War for example,
Batman (2016) Issue #138
Bruce tells Jason he's saving Jason from himself and Jason in turn asks Bruce who's going to save Bruce from himself.
Cut immediately to -
Batman (2016) Issue #138
Dick.
Dick has always been there to pull Bruce out of his darkest days when he tries or is willing but Bruce giving up on Dick's ability to do so is symbolic of him giving up on himself. It's the height of Bruce's irredeemability.
Even after Jason died, Bruce indirectly called Dick to come join him but at this point his back up personality is too far gone for him to recover.
Batman: The Return
Dick literally is the reason Bruce stays connects to the batfamily. In a good way.
He has no reservations about keeping Bruce in check.
"that one ā5 man bandā trope and how he can fit as the leader and the heart"
5 man band trope: one leads, one contrasts, one thinks, one fights, and one keeps all of the above from killing one another
DAMN RIGHT
He's the leader.
Batman: Gotham Nights (2020) Issue #12
And the one that keeps them all together
Batman: Gotham Nights (2020) Issue #12
Dick is the defacto leader when Bruce is gone or lost it.
Batman (2016) Issue #137
Batman (2016) Issue #704
Batman (2016) Issue #704
"Selina doesn't run Gotham. You do. While I'm away."
And the family's protector.
Batman (2016) Issue #137
"into a specific (blank) to lovers? dick graysonās got you covered"
Yup!
Canonical:
Childhood partner to lovers - Raya Vestri
Friends to lovers - Barbara Gordon
Enemies to lovers - Shawn Tsang
Psuedo-family to lovers - Helena Wayne (they actually married in Earth 2)
Crime fighting partner to lovers - Helena Bertenelli
Kiss at first sight to lovers - Koriand'r
Pseudo-therapist to lover - Bea Bennet
Landlord to lovers - Bridget Clancy
Teammates to lovers - Zatanna
X to lovers - literally him and everyone
He's just so shippable that way. Not gonna lie, literally all of his relationships Dick and his lover have been great together.
the ābarney from how i met your mother basketball hoop sceneā and āeleanor from the good place mom she never hadā but make it dick and bruce (teenage or adult idc iād love both)
youtube
The New Teen Titans Issue #50
Man this hits hard. I've never seen how I met your mother but the parallels in the basketball hoop scene and Dick's talk with Bruce are uncanny.
The thing I think is weird about Dick and Bruce's relationship is that it's steeped in insecurities for each other. Dick feels hurt and betrayed and lost as to why Bruce would take in a new robin so suddenly and Bruce's tenure as Dick's robin is riddled with insecurities about him not being a good enough partner.
Batman and Robin Eternal Issue #6
However it's because of these insecurities that I believe they are close.
The difference between Barney and his dad, from what I gather from the clip, is that his dad never acted like one to Barney.
But with Dick and Bruce? Bruce was a good dad to Dick. But he was a terrible partner. Bruce treated Dick like an equal while still fielding reservations about his age and dealing with his own insecurities. Bruce knows that what he's doing is not right but at the same time Dick is far too competent. His intelligence, his athletic skills, his compassion, and his fearlessness were light years beyond anyone Bruce had ever met and Bruce acklnowledges this.
Batman and Robin, The Boy Wonder Issue #2
"The GAS was supposed to knock his OUT. His brain out to be sailing past the MOON, right now. What's this brat MADE out of?"
Batman: The Widening Gyre Issue #1
Bruce's biggest problem with Dick is literally that he talks to much.
Dick is equal in every way to Batman and even exceeds him in some ways when he was Robin itself. So Bruce pushes the responsibilities of Batman's partner on to Dick while treating his as his son, mother, therapist, and partner. And Dick steps up to that. Soon they fall into a rhythm where Dick is Bruce's one for all human interaction. So imagine when you have a constant thing with someone that you're comfortable with and they suddenly start holding back from you. They begin talking about how you're too young to handle adult responsibilities. How you shouldn't be facing that burden. Now you're confused. Those responsibilities they are criticizing you for are the very ones that depended on you for. So now you start doubting yourself and trying harder and harder to make them see that you can handle the job. While you're struggling with confusion, they're struggling with guilt.
That is Bruce and Dick's relationship. Bruce grew a conscious after 10 years and Dick can't understand it. So there comes the self-blame and strife.
What Dick doesn't understand his Bruce feels guilty of his over reliance on Dick. Dick's self-blame has come to such a point that now even when Bruce in full honesty rants about how proud he is of Dick, Dick holds reservations because if Bruce was really proud then he would dump all the responsibilities on him right?
It's really messed up.
"nightwing could 100% be the figurehead of the dceu (like im talking spiderman level) if dc would do something [this was timed . i talked abt this for like 30 minutes all on its own]"
LOL
I think the Dawn of DC does have Dick be the figurehead or at least he will be in the future. We're just getting the beginning now.

when do u think bnha became unsalvageable?
i think bnha might've always been slated to become that way from the get-go, with the protagonist being an aspiring hero and heroes being superpowered cops.......
that said while copaganda shows will always be suspect to me, i'm willing to watch them for entertainment value if not moral backbone lol. so i think bnha could've still been a somewhat fun show about these kids going to superpowers school and learning how to use superpowers better. the major failure points that stand out to me are:
mva
endemption
i'll talk about #1 first since i'm sure that's gonna be the most controversial coming from me lol. dgmw i actually love mva and i think it's one of the better-written (if not best) arc of the series, BUT it was so good and set up so many expectations that the series ultimately just could not live up to. mva was very strong imo because, in giving its villains depth, it dug into the fabric of bnha's society and tried to illustrate, like, how did this happen, why are these people villains? and by and large, the answer to that was poverty and the societal alienation of vulnerable populations (children, abuse victims, mentally ill ppl, queer ppl, "mutants," etc.)
and this was good and interesting but this was Also Bad because mva added complexity to the world of bnha but that was ultimately a complexity that horikoshi couldn't execute. i'm not interested in a story that makes systemic change secondary to scolding marginalized people for reacting to how they've been treated. i would even prefer some kind of liberal "change from the inside" story that at least focuses more on the theme of systemic flaws than one that focuses on how the people systemically wronged are actually the bad ones and we have to fight them for 400 chapters.
look, i'll even drop the whole "the lov did nothing wrong" bit for a moment. sure, bnha doesn't have to throw away all believability and have everyone forgive the lov just like that, but it's always going to be fucked to me that bnha's story and fans are obsessed with the lov ~owning their crimes~ when (takes a deep breath) the government ordered the clandestine executions of people who would make the hero system look bad. and the story barely wastes any breath talking about the corruption of the hero system and higherups lol. which brings me to the second point.
endeavor started out as a character that embodied everything that was wrong with quirk/hero society. he was one of those very early downsides we saw of bnha's world: the publicity/public image of heroes superseding the contents of their actual character, and the value of quirks superseding the value attributed to their human bearers, to the point that domestic abuse and rape is seen as an option to make one's genes/one's power stronger. this was a good set-up! i was intrigued! but again, horikoshi couldn't follow through.
endeavor's character eventually shifted away from making a point about hero society to becoming one of the emotional focal points of the story, especially in the todofam subplot. "waaah tumblr user dabistits you just hate when people change for the better!" and yeah i do kind of hate how an abuser having sad feelings immediately gets him prioritized over the people who suffered because of him tbh! but personal feelings aside, i would say that endemption really marked the point where bnha swung hard into depicting characters as good or bad not through the actions they take but through their alignment with either heroes or villains.
endeavor and hawks are the most obvious in this. in contrast to the obsession of making sure villains repent and "do the right thing," endeavor/hawks' actions are either forgivable, pitiable, or simply necessary. several years of spousal abuse and at least 10 years of child abuse don't earn endeavor so much as a lecture (no, being told to stop being pathetic doesn't count), and hawks' execution of twiceānot much different than lady n's executionsāis dismissed through a press conference and never addressed again. there's a distinct line drawn between "heroes (who sometimes do bad things!)" and "villains," such that anyone aligned with the heroes is deemed to be "good, deep down," and generally more morally superior or redeemable than villains. consider the fact that someone like gentle (youtube crimes) or aoyama (blackmailed 16 y.o) were held to higher standards of proving themselves than someone like endeavor or hawks. i'm not gonna lie, these story beats are all uncomfortably real, except that when real live people do endeavor or hawks things i see them unquestionably as counterrevolutionary enemies, not protectors of the peace lol.
the decision to have endeavor transition from minor antagonist to a major supporting character was, imo, a big turning point in the ethos of bnha. i think in many ways it was a symbolic shift, but also a mechanical one in terms of how the story was going to be told going forward. the problems about hero society that were continually introduced at the beginning (ostracizing quirkless people and ppl with "dangerous" quirks, the valuation of powerful quirks over people, "fake heroes," all of the lov stuff) took a backseat to Stopping The Big Bads, with marginalization as flavor text instead of a genuine area of contention between heroes. think about the difference in deku confronting endeavor during the sports festival compared to how all other injustices were dealt with afterward... because the readers have to be convinced that endeavor is Ultimately Good, the heroes stopped challenging him, and in stopping challenging him, they lost one of the major ways through which the heroes of the series wrestled with societal issues.
but whereas the way the heroes handled corruption and violence within their own ranks became simplistic and non-confrontational, with mva, so many aspects of dealing with and interrogating the status quo and societally-accepted injustices were pushed onto the villains instead. but since the villains must be defeated as villains, despite being the main carriers of social critique now, their messages were also torn down/deprioritized in favor of enacting bnha's vision of a cohesive conclusion wherein the villains answer for their crimes. so instead of making the heroes challenge anything, hori shifted this burden onto the villains, in the process making most of them some kind of vulnerable/marginalized and with opinions on the matter, only to ultimately assert that the issues they raise are less narratively important than a restoration of peace.

Do u think Danny would be okay with having his SO be his partner in crime. I feel like it really depends but I think he would be open to it as long as like he was still the one calling the shots you get me? Been thinking about this one all day š
An ask in my ask box! Oh boy! Thanks Anon :) So this is actually a concept I've been toying with for a while in relation to the magnum opus fanfic I've had brewing in my head for five years. Gonna put a read more since this got long thanks to my rambling; warning for brief mention of partner murder.
Edit: changed some wording for clarity.
I don't think he would react well to an SO knowing his secret in a regular situation unless he was dead certain this person isn't going to betray him. So, obviously, becoming his partner in crime is going to involve blackmail. If his SO accidentally or purposefully kills somebody? Does some other crime or horrible thing they don't want revealed? That's going to be used. I think there's also just the inherent threat of personal harm... But I don't see him doing that unless pushed into the situation--I think if something did result in the death of the SO he would be sad about it... like very angry sad. Look what you made me do kinda. Like somebody just took a toy away from him. I don't really subscribe to yandere style headcanons for him personally, but I definitely think he is possessive.
Anyways back to my point... I think Danny would enjoy having somebody know. I think it must be lonely and a little isolating the way he lives... and humans are social creatures.
I think when it comes to his SO acting as a partner in crime, doing murders... my personal headcanon on the matter is he's... rather into it? I don't think he would go out of his way to influence somebody into murder/violence (what is he? his old man? lol) but I think there's a kind of... appreciation for a display of strength like that. Even if it was an accident. He's gonna clean the blood of them and it's the most sensual experience he's ever had--his head is gonna SPIN! I actually think he would be completely caught by surprise, like discovering a kink you didn't know you had (I mean that's exactly what it is, let's be real) He's been formed into this person to be okay with violence and it's not something he really gets to share/experience with people. He's not a veteran so he can't share "war stories" of his experiences, the closest he would get to this kind of thing for the average person is maybe hunting... but there's a keen difference in hunting a human than, say, a deer? I think having an SO as a partner in crime would be... like toxic good for him... I'm assuming the SO is a willing partner in crime. I can see him really enjoying somebody gassing up his ego (totally tempted to make a Harley/Joker comparison here). HOWEVER, I do think he would be an absolute pain in the ass about his works, his stories... I don't see him sharing Ghost Face with somebody, so it would be convincing him to either change gears to something else, or putting up with that.
One change I could see happening is having the SO, if they have writing chops or come from a journalism background, taking over the paper-writing/reporting aspect. The original background in-game (not the tome) mentions that some of the articles he's kept were not written by him, so as much as I feel like this is still an imperative part of his modus operandi, it's clear he still takes a nice fat dopamine hit for the sake of his ego from other people writing about him too... and therefore I could see him being flexible with it, because if the SO is his partner in crime, he can still influence what they write--he just doesn't have to work double shifts anymore LOL
Is it too cracked up to make a joke about Danny and his partner-in-crime SO getting a house in some random town and posing as a totally normal man and his spouse by day but then murdering people by night? IDK you decide. I'm kinda just picturing that one song by the Mountain Goats.

The Boys Are Back in the Mob in... Tokyo Soul!
1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 /Ā 6 / You Are Here! / 8 / 9
Wowie zowie it's another guest episodes! But this time it's Sam's guest so it's not as good as Lizzie. In these episodes, the boys try to have a nice day out while Professor Geode shows his "family" around town, Grian's mic is out to lunch, and organized crime rears its ugly head once again in the city.
This report contains mentions of: violence, guns, drugs.
Previously on Tokyo Soul:
"Who wants to rub blood on themselves?ā -- Lizzie
This Time...
Episode 25 ā A NEW FRIEND!
Taurtis is filming a roleplay called āYandere Middle Schoolā lol.
Sam mentions his āpersonal friendā named Jin who they need to pick up from the train station.
Taurtis: āYou have other friends?ā Sam: āYeah, I have friends!ā Grian: āNews to me.ā
Sam: āGrian had a friend, I can have a friend too.ā Taurtis: āBut heās actually likable.ā
Samās friend is actually moving to the area, Sam says.
Dom and Jerry break the TV.
On the way to the train station, they see that another UFO has crashed into the tree in Geodeās yard.
While the boys are arguing about whether it is, in fact, a UFO, they are HALTed by Officer Flare. He fines them for jaywalking, and then for attempting to bribe him with Doritos and bagels. He doesnāt make any attempt to actually collect any money from them though.
Jerry is selling JerryCats and Air at the train station.
Jin gets off the train, along with two very obviously stereotypical Green Aliens in touristy clothes. Taurtis tries to convince Jin not to move there. Jin is from Kyoto, apparently.
The aliens are met by none other than Geode, who is trying to pass them off as his āPappaā and āGrammaā.
Dom is running a bar and grill at the train station. Also, it turns out he didnāt break the TV, he stole it to put in his bar and grill.
They look for a restaurant. Grian just straight up walks into someoneās house and sits down at their kitchen table. Jerry breaks the food that was on the table. Then Igbar von Squid walks in because it turns out this is his house. Heās not happy. The boys get out of there pretty fast.
They run into the principal and Grian chews him out again. Jin is a bit shocked to hear whatās been going on at their school.
Jin: āIām still in Japan, right?ā
Honestly, Iām not too sure about that.
Episode 26 ā GRIAN IS AN ALIEN!
They go to an actual restaurant. Sam makes Taurtis read the menu sign outside. He claims the restaurant serves āfish legsā, and Jin calls him out on not actually being able to read Japanese. The boys are all shocked that Jin can. More fuel for my silly little āthis whole show takes place in some kind of pocket-dimensional space warpā headcanon.
Geode and his āfamilyā are also at the restaurant. Grian, as the only one willing to admit theyāre aliens and probably planning some kind of invasion, sits near them so he can listen in on their conversation. He sounds like heās near tears trying to convince the others.
And then he sounds like a robot, because heās having mic issues. The way they decide to work this into the story is: Taurtis yells āHEāS AN ALIENā, Geode yells āTHE MIND SLUGS HAVE ACTIVATEDā, and everyone runs out of the restaurant, away from Grian.
Grian tearfully chases after them. Taurtis pulls out a gun. Sam tells him to shoot Grian in the leg if he āspeaks alienā. Taurtis shoots him before he says anything, he screams, itās incredibly garbled, everyone runs away in fear again. This is not a good day for Grians.
Then thereās a cut and Grian is speaking normally again. He explains that from his perspective, he was speaking normally and they just shot him for apparently no reason.
Officer Flare fines Grian for having an open wound. Grian decides to bandage his wound with the paper the fine is written on. He also decides to give his name as āSam Gladiatorā when the cop asks.
Sam protests loudly. āGrian, why are you trying to pull a fast one?ā Grian says to him. The gaslighter become the gaslighted. Well not really since they all run away before much else is said.
Episode 27 ā RUN ITS THE COPS!
They all head over to the apartment Jinās planning to move into so he can sign the lease. The landlords areā¦ pretty blatantly The Mafia. Also they have a doorman dressed in a very skimpy outfit and a Pepe mask, because thatās the sort of series this is. The landlords ask Jin if heās āpart of another gang in townā.
Jinās lease contract involves him giving the landlords a pint of blood. And his soul. Right now though, the landlords just make him clean the top floor. Sam et al. go up to watch him clean, Sam gets angry at the younger landlord and punches him, and the younger landlord pulls out a gun. They all start cleaning, except Taurtis, who decides to break all the windows for some reason. Then he falls off the balcony.
The landlords also want Jin to deliver drugs to a man under a bridge. The man is Old Kurokuma, because we can never be rid of this guy. And, of course, the same cop from before walks up and tries to arrest them all. They scatter. The cop shoots at them a couple of times.
They run back to Jinās apartment. The landlords want the money from the deal, which Jin didnāt get. The cop breaks the door down. The boys break another window to escape.Ā
They lose the cop by hiding in the school, before presumably heading back to Jinās apartment. Thatās what they say theyāre doing, but the episode and the recording session end before they get there.
Grian Trauma Count!
Injuries Sustained:
Shot in the leg and bandaged the wound with a piece of paper and then kept running on it which definitely didnāt help.
Traumatic Events:
Guns are drawn on him multiple times by multiple people.
Once again something weird/bad is happening, in this case possible alien invasion, and literally no one will take his worry seriously.
The aliens do something to him that he doesnāt know what it is, just that it makes his friends convinced heās an alien, run away from him in fear, and then shoot him.
Forced (by proximity to the guy whoās explicitly being forced, basically) to participate in a drug deal.
Chased and shot at by a police officer.
Next Time... the Deaths Witnessed Count Gets a Pretty Big Shot in the Arm

this is a general point but one thing i find to be really frustrating from non-talia fans is the automatic condescension and assumption of unintelligence as if talia fans are idiots who believe morrison is the only writer who has ever been racist to her and like we don't dwell on the issues in her writing across history wholesale because we tend to know it like the back of our hand. obv morrison is the most prevalent writer in talia discourse bc their work has been the most damning for her. there's no erasing what they did to her character bc dc will never erase damian's existence nor will they ever be willing to change his origins to account for her original characterization bc he's the more popular character by miles
but that's not to say that these discussions about other racist stereotypes and misogyny attributed to her portrayals from other writers aren't prevalent within talia fan circles. the above post is only one example of the assumptions made about her fans (although it's a common accusation) but i honestly find it quite laughable bc any talia fan who is dedicated to understanding her history and maintaining her character integrity is well aware that dixon's work on her in the 90s and early 00s is nothing short of terrible. it is her most prominent dragon lady portrayal prior to morrison's and you would be hard pressed to find a talia fan who actually enjoys any of those portrayals or believes they did her character any service. the thing op and so many others seem to ignore is that writers from tower of babel and onward more or less forgot about these arcs or talia's part in them bc her impact was so inconsequential. there's not even a hint of the talia who was power hungry to be her father's heir or sexually assaulted by bane in the portrayals written by waid and early 00s superman comics (although you can obv argue about whether ignorance of her trauma from the bane arc was a good thing). so ofc we don't complain about it as much bc it didn't have any long lasting effects on her character (unless you want to count her portrayal in the dark knight rises, but i think even that was egregious enough for the most wormbrained fans to recognize it was a disservice to her)
and i am always incredibly fascinated by the number of people who like to dress up the o'neil era the way op did bc it's an immediate tell for who's actually read her comics and who hasn't. there's certainly things to be said about the al ghuls and the fu manchu stereotypes o'neil and adams drew from to create the daddy-daughter duo, but no one who criticizes their holistic portrayals here ever seems to actually understand the nature of their crimes in this era or that this is perhaps the most tame ra's has ever been before writers in the 80s and 90s took his ecofascism to new heights. the ra's of the 70s is highly suspicious and wealthy and entitled, but most of his crimes are so vague and far flung they can't even be categorized as anything concrete. half the time he's fighting for control over the league more than he is actually making strides in ecofascism, which is what writers like mike w. barr more specifically dedicated themselves to portraying. it's also notable that one of the last stories o'neil wrote for the al ghuls in this era featured ra's and bruce cooperating to save the entire planet from a deadly chemical. ra's was an ecofascist at origins but very few people seem to understand or care that he was built with standards for himself and didn't believe in mass murdering humanity despite all of its crimes against the earth. that's a nuance that writers seem to have lost over the years and obv the every day batman fan isn't going to care about them lol
even beyond the ra's portrayal though it's interesting how talia gets tied so closely into his alleged "crimes" from this era bc unless her father is under threat or imprisoned talia doesn't play much of an active role in his criminal plotting at all. if anything that's a criticism talia fans have of o'neil's work bc while she's portrayed to be incredibly intelligent and possessive of a unique concept of loyalty, her role during this era doesn't really go beyond the bounds of henchwoman or on some occasions bystander. but the highlight of these portrayals is that in the rare moments that she is an active player, it's always to do the right thing and protect an innocent. talia is very staunchly anti murder and only inclined towards the act when people she cares about are threatened (like in her very first portrayal where she shot darrk to protect bruce, and even then, you can tell that murder wasn't her intent, and the man may have survived had he not fallen onto the train tracks; there is also her almost-murder of a man in daughter of the demon when she believes he's killed ra's, but once bruce tells her ra's is actually alive she relents. you can criticize her for that still if you're inclined to but the notable thing about it is that talia is not driven to murder as a prerogative unless extremes present themselves). o'neil explicitly designates her as a pacifist who is only chained to ra's out of a slavish devotion which other writers obv build on in later decades to help her ultimately evolve out of the role. but all too often non-talia fans take the bond girl ambience and surface matter of these stories to designate her as an entitled, heartless war criminal bc that's already the way they have of her from modern work, projected back onto work from the past. there's no room to see the nuances in her writing in earlier comics bc her future has already damned her
this is personally why i think paying attention to writers when building a concept of character history is so impt. swaths of issues get jumbled together to act as one conglomerate on a character but there's a plethora of nuances and shifts in tone and portrayal to notice when the work of different writers is distinguished from each other and analyzed. and that holds esp true for non-white characters whose trajectory can shift so suddenly bc of the biases of a writer
#talia al ghul#ra's al ghul#personal essays#well. i sacrificed going to school early to study for this. property reading i'll be leaving a measly ten minutes for you#but yeah lol this post in particular severely peeved me but it's also a general floating sentiment i have seen from a LOT of non talia fans#in general with non white dc characters but esp the dragon lady victims people really do not seem to care about#distinguishing their history at all. like it's all one broad brushstroke none of these people actually read each issue and differentiate#and it's like. BITCH. i have spent hours overanalyzing these issues more than you ever could have please sit down (derogatory)

I adored the hell out of your Feyd/girl!dad headcannons because it wasn't only well written, but yoy actually used little Marie as the inspiation and main character to Feyd. But I have one question, wgen you wrote that Margot was to go to Ksitain to answer for her crimes, do you propose that she SA' ed Feyd as you may have interpreted it from the movie, because I felt that Feyd was very willing even with being under her BG influence. As one commenter wrote, "Margot may had led Feyd to water, but he was alredy thirsty and was willing to drink,". I love hearing different opions on their interaction, so it helps me understand more fully. But I reakky do enjoy Feyd and Margot together cayse they had a lot of chemistry.
Hello! Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad you liked it! š¤
When I was coming up with a "plot" for the headcanons (because I can never seem to just write ideas, I always have to have some longwinded narrative to it), I initially thought that Feyd would just kill Margot. And then I decided that he would very deliberately not do it in front of Marie, as it would traumatise her and it would be too much of a dick move, even for him. But then as I was writing the idea came that they'd just be upfront about what Margot did and have her tried and sentenced. That was the gentler option. Because leaving Margot alive and free would just be a danger to him at this point. He wouldn't risk her trying to get Marie back.
Now, as to whether it really was sexual assault, yeah. Rape, even.
I don't really go by the movie version when I write, mind you, I go by the books. And in the book, Feyd is indeed attracted to Margot, he even offers to dedicate his kill in the arena to her (which she rejects), although he's also slightly intimidated by her. He's just turning 17, by the way (a fact which might get lost since he always seems to be played by 32 year old actors lol). But even if he's attracted, the fact that Margot uses Bene Gesserit mind tricks on him makes it non-consensual. This aspect is more clear in the movie, because there's no scene in the book of them being alone together.
What's not in the movie, however, is that while they're having sex Margot imprints Feyd with a phrase (a meaningless prana-bindu word, specifically "uroshnor") which is meant to paralyse him temporarily if he should hear it again. It becomes relevant before Feyd's duel with Paul because Jessica, being able to tell from how Feyd walks that he's been imprinted, advises Paul to use this word if he begins to lose the fight. Paul outright refuses because he wants an "honourable" win, and it's in fact his visible, dramatic struggle over not speaking this word that confuses Feyd and gives Paul the chance to stab and kill him.
So clearly there were a lot of mind tricks involved between Margot and Feyd, and even though he would have slept with her consensually, this hypothetical scenario could not be proven in court. The only thing that can be proven is that she manipulated Feyd, and imprinted him with a word that could paralyse which, obviously, can be fatal in certain situations.
So I guess this was my version of mercy for Margot, because yeah, originally I thought Feyd would just kill her š But I figured he'd be a bit more forgiving for Marie's sake.

HELLO IRL FRIEND OF NICO
i have noticed that you are into discworld and would like to hear more about it bc i am interested in reading it but am incapable of getting into anything unless it's been hyped up to me enough and you seem like you'd be willing to ramble lovingly about this series so uhh. favorite characters? what's it about? themes? fun tidbits?
(no pressure though and sorry if this is a weird way to introduce myself hi im luce)
lol no worries Luce! yes I'm very happy to ramble for you. (post-writing here, this is so all over the place sorry for like not sticking to one area but hey it's defos a loving ramble - kinda just talked about vague stuff, but I can 100% go into specifics).
So. . . where do I begin?
40 books in the series, he wrote right up until his death. NOT a continuous plotline through all 40. In fact, I recommend not starting with the first one (two actually)as it's not spectacular (that being said, it is still worth reading once you're in the series, good for the overall worldbuilding if memory serves). below is a sorta ok guide to how they connect - I have my issues with it but it's the best I've found.
I wouldn't recommend starting with Sourcery, but that's cuz Rincewind isn't my favorite character - I'd start with either equal rites or Lords and Ladies or Mort or The Truth or The Fifth Elephant or just wherever really as long as it isn't the Colour of Magic or the Light Fantastic.
A few crucial ordering things - READ THUD AND SNUFF (and ig Making Money and Going Postal) BEFORE RAISING STEAM. READ THIEF OF TIME BEFORE NIGHT WATCH. Those are the really imperative ones that you gotta order right, generally do it vaguely chronologically and yeah. Have at it.
The Hedgehog Song - this is a tidbit that shows up a lot in the Witches books as a very rude song that Nanny Ogg sings, BUT WE NEVER GET THE WORDS and I so want them.
Because it was written over 32 years, there are so many characters that just like slowly worm their way into it and I love watching a character turn from like a single footnote into a fully-fledged, important-to-the-plot character (I'm looking at YOU, Cassanunda)
SPEAKING OF FOOTNOTES OMG the books are riddled with them and. . . chef's kiss they add So Much to the series. They're so funny.
Pratchett is actually just like so funny as an author in general, but wittily so. Not saying he does pure comedy - he doesn't. Many a time have I cried over a Pratchett book. He's also great at taking stuff and . . . twisting it ig into something brilliantly new - Take, for instance, Maskerade, which is the Phantom of the Opera but Pratchettifyed (New word! yay! I'll be using it a lot I'm sure.). or like just what he does with Fairy Tales in general (Witches Abroad, Lords and Ladies sorta)
Also his MAGIC omg - soft magic system done right. I also love like the different approaches to magic that the witches and wizard have to it. Also how like the Creatures from the Dungeon Dimensions get [spoilers removed]
The gods man. Love them. They exist, they feed off of raw belief (Small Gods' premise is that people start believing in the institution formed around a god as opposed to the god itself and then that god like almost dies cuz no-one believes in him. (surprise surprise it's a commentary on the Church)) and they play games with the lives of men (the Last Hero). Love Granny Weatherwax's opinion on them which goes smthn like this: "No use believin' in 'em, it only serves to encourage 'em." <-- As a concept belief is not simply tied to the gods either. He does a lot of stuff about how what people believe to be true can affect how they perceive things around them.
THE FOOLS. Pratchett understood the tragedy of clowns and as such his fools are so insanely sad - the Fools' Guild is the least happy of all the guilds. I love them so much
Speaking of guilds: the Guild of Thieves. is a legit guild set up by Vetenarii to do crime to the socially acceptable level and no higher - I'm doing a bad job explaining it but it's ingenious.
Vetenarii is probably one of my favorite characters in the entire series. He, above all else, understands how humans work and he uses that skill to get people to do what he wants.
Pratchett does not pull the punches when it comes to messaging and such - very anti-war, anti-racism, anti-sexism etc. Also love what he does with People and how they can/can't be controlled (The human condition as a whole ig) - one of my fav quotes from the series is Vimes saying "They're scared. You can't expect much from people when they're scared."
My personal fav book is Monstrous Regiment, which is relatively standalone. Very good. Very "horrors of war"-y with a touch of the classic [redacted due to spoilers].
I could go on, but this post is getting very long so if I do continue I'll do it in another post.
TL;DR: Pratchett = FUCKING BRILLIANT

Has anyone ever tried telling you "eggman probably isn't as evil as you think" If so, how did you respond?
Side note. I really appreciate your account. We need more people who embrace Eggman as the irredeemable monster he is.
Yes, often and well they're either coming from a place of not being knowledgeable enough about Eggman and overlook all his crimes, or it's a case where they turn a blind eye because they don't want to believe he's actually that evil because it's not to their tastes and makes them uncomfortable. And I get it but it doesn't change the facts. I enjoy getting to help people learn the solid unbiased facts about game canon Eggman, by bringing up all the canon examples of what makes him such a terrible person and try to note as many of his actions as possible that prove he really is that evil.
Being a totalitarian fascist dictator who wants to own the world and strip freedom and free will away, a war criminal who causes mass destruction and is willing to commit genocide, will try to kill anyone who gets in his way even children as young as 6-8, has been sexist, will manipulate/gaslight and abuse people and animals in various ways and enjoy it, wants to build intentionally dangerous theme parks that can kill people in brutal ways as we hear all about in Colors, and knows he's evil and acknowledges it proudly and revels in it is the most evil of evil!
We've seen many examples that show just how low he'll stoop and he hasn't been known to have a single limit in canon, besides things that get the entire planet and himself destroyed so he can't rule it, obviously. Besides that purely selfish reason, he isn't shown to have any good morally based limits and doesn't show any hesitance or remorse for his actions, despite clearly being fully aware that he's the bad guy doing the bad thing, calling it evil with glee. He's ranged from completely apathetic towards the evil he commits to downright sadistic as he smirks cheekily and laughs through it!
Those aren't actions to be downplayed or overlooked, they're important traits that define his character and are involved by countless significant plot points, including his whole motivation and methods in his plans. They're the very things that establish him as a villain and a threat in the first place. It's what puts the "evil" in "Ivo (ee-vo)." He's not the villain and not the Eggman, or even the same character at all without it, I'm not even exaggerating. But yeah point is, if someone is to deny or ignore all these intentionally or not, then they're not gonna think he's as evil as I say he is. XD
From my experience, they haven't been able to provide solid proof and evidence, nothing I couldn't disprove with my own stacks of evidence taken right from the games, if they do have any they claim to be at all. Because a lot of the things I see that they tend to try to use are things that actually prove my own point instead, when looking at them in actual context and what they really mean. So what I'd also do is debunk anything they try to use to attest to the idea that he's really that evil of a guy, using those very same things they're trying to use for their statements and much more.
I really like having sensible discussions and debates where I get to put all my heavy passionate research and analysis to use but I don't really get the chance very often because people take it the wrong way. I think if people didn't take disagreements as so hostile, we could be having some really interesting discussions. Like sure, when someone says "Eggman isn't as evil as you think" I'm like "ah hell no, no way lol" but I'm not angry or insulting, I'd just like to discuss why I disagree and share some of the reasons why, which are based in fact. I encourage others to do it to me too.
Anyway, these are usually the points I bring up when I do get the chance. Then I ready all my tons of excerpts and sources right from the games explicitly written into the text, and with some further analysis adhering to that knowledge, and sometimes additional creator commentary that's solidly backed up by the game canon as a bonus. People I've talked to have been upset by being asked for sources but I'm always passionate about gathering all my sources the second someone asks because I'm like finally I get to do something with all this information lol
Thank you so much! I'm really happy you enjoy my stuff. :D I'm just super passionate about gushing over, analyzing, and educating over how Eggman is a lovable nasty evil bastard man and I'm really happy that I'm not alone, I have so much fun making the posts and to know that y'all enjoy it too makes it even better. Here we love and embrace this handsome horrible man always and I'm delighted for you to join me in it. We make fine loyal members of the Eggman Empire for it hehe š

okay so somehow my thembo druid managed to Steven Universe their way to the "good" ending with astarion's romance (after quite a LOT of save scumming and everyone applying skill buffs to them, because we are not good at persuasion checks in this house) and it *is* worth it but getting there was so hard.
a lot of the guides i looked at mentioned the global consequences of the end of the pale elf questline but not the personal ones (for the romance/astarion) so i've written out each of the possible endings if you want to go in knowing/with a plan (and also drew little comics)
spoilery thoughts, art and path recs behind cut ā¬ļø
i tried all the other options you can do with the end of his personal quest all of them SANS ONE are fucking tragic, so when you get to that one persuasion check absolutely do not fail it whatever you do (unless you like tragedy, then you do you ofc).
you've got a chance to save post cazador fight/before the important cutscenes so def do that!
major spoilers below here ā¬ļø .
.
.
. i was kinda gratified that despite all appearances my "kind to children and animals, maybe a bit naive" druid tav was actually the right choice to get him there (and not an evil/morally grey aligned character as i've seen a lot of people say they're going to romance him on).
like not compromising on their values was what did it, not just letting him do whatever he wants (i did try the worst path first which felt bad b/c it went against my tav's core hard lines so glad i re-did it instead of writing it off)
here are the choices:
bad ending #1 -> prevent him from doing the ritual but fail the persuasion check (that convinces him it's not really what he wants). he gets real upset at your lack of support, tells you to go fuck yourself, and leaves permanently :c bad ending #2 (worst one imho) -> help him finish the ritual. the power consumes him, he loses all sense of self. all your other companions hate it (take big relationship approval hits), you have to kill the gur* on your way out. you will either have to break up or become his spawn (he will esp hate you and himself if you do the latter), his personality completely changes and it's really fucking sad (upside, he's very powerful now so i guess if you want him to be tankier purely for combat...) T.T
bad ending #3 ->*same as #2 except on your way out, you side with the gur instead and have to kill astarion. he will be permanently dead :c
the one good ending (for ast/romance) -> prevent him from doing the ritual by convincing him that it's not really what he wants (this is the persuasion check that you cannot fail). you get some lovely closure scenes with him afterwards and the rest of your party approves (he will be stuck w/vamp weaknesses for post endgame stuff probably)
so yeah there's lots of ways this can go off the rails, the core thing with his romance is pretty much giving him back his agency but also being willing to stand up and be the guard rail when he gets tempted by things that are objectively bad for him (he's def got a self destructive/addictive streak).
It was a bit difficult to navigate b/c he does like it when you do low-key crimes early on (stealing, lying) and protecting him (the gur hunter, the other vamps) so you need a bit of that to win approval i think? but at the end of the day, your tav having integrity and believing he's got integrity and making him believe it is the more important thing.
it was hard but totally worth it, his funny little squawks when he realizes you like him are so sweet and cute 10/10 will probably romance several more times lol

I binged watched part 2 of The Glory and I have THOUGHTS and OPINIONS but overall liked part 2 a ton, really needĀ Song Hye-kyo andĀ Jung Sung Il to be in another drama where they get to fuck nasty tho saw someone say a spy thing and now all I can think about is a Korean remake of Mr and Mrs Smith staring themĀ
anyway thoughts and opinions, obviously spoilers and some unpopular opinions to boot:Ā
so like, off the bat I am firmly neutral on the JYJ and MDE romance. Sorry yāall. I thought some of their romantic moments were just out of place tonally in the show - the fondue scene especially with the standard kdrama romance music playing, the running hug scene, both come to mind - I wished the show leaned into the dark romance aspects more. Like, my issue with JYJ is heās way way way more interesting when heās unhinged and covered in blood. But the show seemed determined to make him aĀ āgreen flagā which is a term Iām growing increasingly eye-rolly with in fandom which made him way more boring and also inconsistent.Ā
I was actually salty he didnāt get to stab anyone! Why tease me with a murder knife drawer and not do anything with it??? His best moment was when he put PYJ under and was so wonderfully creepy and intimidating. That was peak. That was his best moment for me in part 2 and the rest was kinda...meh? I didnāt want him to be cutely romantic I wanted him to be secretly unhinged!! Him being a ~green flag~ was meh his other best moment of the show was his monologue to his fatherās murderer. Literally one of the best moments of the show and 100% his best moment as a character. I wanted more of THAT and less of him simping after MDE tbh.Ā
That said, Iām not like against their romance or anything itās just firmly - fine. Itās fine.Ā
Iām also very meh/eye-rolling over the concept of a woman being a manās savior and salvation. I find that trope really boring tbhĀ
It was nice to see MDE have a partner in crime, and I did like the tent scene with them. I think if thereās fic written if itās fluff squeecore fic Iāll pass but Iād love a take on them that embraced the darker aspects of YJYās character. Like dude was an obsessed stalker - which is another reason this green flag thing is weird to me - after spending like what 3 months with MDE if she didnāt like him and also wasnāt a bit unhinged herself heād be a horror movie char lol like he moved entire ass cities to be closer to her without telling her and lied to her about knowing So-Heeās mom all in a longcon effort to get closer to her like embrace the unhinged!Ā
Anyways
We didnāt get much of HDY and MDE this part but know what, I really liked how subtle their relationship was tbh like HDY taking off his shoes before entering her home was a peak moment for me. Itās subtle, but it was a bit of kindness that was so often and so thoroughly denied MDE repeatedly. And obviously that meant a lot to her b/c she was willing to drop her whole ass extended revenge plot and give PYJ a chance to turn herself in. I liked that he didnāt immediately divorce PYJ too b/c it gave him all the opportunity to slowly and symmetrically tear her apart emotionally.Ā
Like, PYJ realized she actually loved this man, so knowing that MDE got into his head and heart - I loved that he basically admitted yeah he had an emotional affair with her - was clearly so damaging for her ego. And thatās what PYJ cares about most, her ego, her image, her self-preservation. And I loved how HDY tore that down every chance he got. He knows about her affair, he knows HYS true parentage, he knows all her little secrets and when she tries to defend herself he gives her rope to hang herself with it. And she does b/c of course she does!! Oh it was great.Ā
It shows that PYJās idea of love is possession. Sheās mad HDY cheated on her, without considering her years long affair with JJJ. She loves her daughter, but not enough to take TWO, TWO different chances to actually protect her daughter (sidenote loved that both MDE and HDY gave PYJ two different chances to take responsibility for her action and make amends and both times she spat in their faces) and she denied them.Ā
Also what the heck is up with the fact that MrĀ āWho Should I Kill For You Firstā didnāt kill a single bitch but HDY killed one of the MAIN bitches??? Like, I loved it but what the heck??? That said wouldāve really liked a follow up or sideways scene where MDE gave HDY the info on JJJ and that she knew~ he killed JJJ. I think they shouldāve had a final scene together like that b/c it didnāt make much sense to me how JJJ got out of that car accident and ended up at that construction site where HDY followed and killed him after. Plus it didnāt make sense to me that MDE wouldnāt have kept tabs on JJJ and would have left his fate ambiguous like that. He was the one most loyal to PYJ and probably the only person who wouldnāt abandon her in the long run so like, that felt like a weird missing piece to the ending.Ā
Iām glad PYJ didnāt die tho, Iām kinda meh on main villains always dying tbh sometimes it really works - like JJJās death - but other times it feels like an easy out for them. Iām glad sheās in prison suffering especially not knowing one of the people she killed she actually didnāt. Knowledge that MDE can hold over her forever. I loved that I loved that was PYJās endgame.Ā
All that said, I wish the show incorporated more of the publics viewing of PYJ in her downfall. I think The Devil Judge and Hellbound did this way better with how social media and the news really influence the public perception. We got that one news conference and that was it but like I wanted more. I wanted to see more of the public takedown of the crew and have all the victims smiling as they listen to the gossip and chatter around them.Ā
Everyoneās fates were pretty dope though. KHN was a highlight, so glad her husband is dead, she didnāt forgive his ass in the end, and sheās happier now. Sheās one of the best characters of the show, the way she flourished and grew - that SLAP she gave PYJ like no one topped that - was just amazing to see. HDY and his adorable daughter going to UK was so earned (made no sense but earned), the crewās different deaths like loved that for all of them hahahah suffer. Glad MDE found happiness and fulfilment at the end with YJY.Ā
My last and only quibble with the finale was two things: 1) I wanted a follow up scene with Soo-Heeās mom and MDE I think this was a hugely missed opportunity tbh like for MDE to tell SHās mom we got them all not just PYJ but all of them went down youāre daughter can rest now. I was really disappointed we didnāt get this. 2) I really disliked how the last 20/30mins was dedicated to like a long set-up of a potential s2 about YJYās revenge. Idk this was MDEās story and it felt like the ending stopped being about her and became about an ad to watch a potential s2. It dragged on and on and I felt there were other things we couldāve explored instead to really wrap MDEās story up completely.Ā
Overall, hands down one of the best kdramas Iāve watched and a high fave.Ā

what writing of yours are you most proud of? do you have a favourite piece?
thanks for the ask! ok so its actually not a fic lol but in grade 9 i skipped class literally every day to write an original novel longer than crime & punishment that i named decay depleted. it was about a vampire living in a nuclear wasteland after a major world war that ended with mutually assured destruction. for the first time in like 300 years she could finally walk around outside in the daytime because the sky was so thick with fallout and dust it blocked out the sun. she spends the novel essentially wandering around starving and looking for humans still surviving in underground bunkers and subway stations who have avoided death by radiation. vampires arent particularly strong or powerful in this setting so the bulk of the intrigue is the various ways she manipulates her way into these human communities (usually by pretending to be hurt, or by saying she has food to trade, or by impersonating a government official/soldier, etc). quite often she receives an invitation inside, sometimes shes shot at and has to flee.
after a while, every human survivor community she comes across is either dead or so sick from radiation that theyve become inedible to her. the vampire begins to grow very afraid because she knows she'll go extinct alongside humanity, and for an undead immortal creature with no lifespan, the thought of nothingness is terrifying.
the novel ends with her finding the bunker of a billionaire politician who had spent years accumulating supplies for his apocalypse prepper paradise. she formulates a huge elaborate plan as to how she will get inside, assuming that he probably has guards, weapons, cctv, etc, but is shocked to find it seems completely isolated. when she finally makes it in, the bunker stinks and is empty aside from mountains and mountains of canned food and water bottles, and the politician in the middle, who killed himself months ago. she collapses from hunger in a room full of food she can't eat, finally succumbing to the reality that she is going to die.
theres a lot of parallels in the story between vampires/rich ppl as a parasite class in terms of their literal predation on poor people. the vampires manipulative ways of gaining entry to human settlements all reflect different forms of soft/hard power. the humans she encounters are either so desperate for resources that theyre willing to put themselves in danger for them, or so empathetic to the plight of others that their kindness is taken advantage of by monsters, or so subservient to authority that theyll let anyone claiming to be a cop or soldier in. however, by the end of it, the vampire begins to feel rage towards the billionaire politician for representing the sort of capricious bourgeois suicide a manmade politically driven apocalypse the nuclear war ultimately represents. her final thoughts are that she could potentially take some of the politicians wasted supplies and redistribute it amongst the other human survivors in order to ensure their ongoing survival, and thus her own. but its probably too late, and most of them have either starved to death or died from radiation poisoning. and besides, her hunger has made her so, so tired.
anyways i dont rly think this is like the best thing ive ever written by any means but the concept was cool and i had fun creating it. also it does kind of crack me up that when i was 14 i spent 8 months skipping school to write a novel and now it just sits on my google drive lol:

Against some slanders
(Here is something I saw on the internet recently. I love these. These were not written by myself but I obtained the original writer's permission to post his words here. )
In the religious (or worse, catholic) framework, one might think that Feanor has those so-called ācrimesā. However, for someone with no religious belief at all, he is a great person.
I have to fight against some complete malicious slanders that Feanor suffer from:
āHe threatened his half-brother with a sword.ā
Because his half-brother spread slanders about him, trying to get their father believe that he disrespects their father, which is completely wrong. His half-brother is bitchy, period. Also he caused no real harm, and if you have to compare the harm that his half-brotherās wrong words caused and his sword caused, I would say that the words are more toxic.
He opposed the Valar (demigods), and caused a rebellion.
Whatās wrong with it? Why do people have to obey the gods? āYou have to obey gods to be rightā is a super out-of-time stereotype, and should be broken. Opposing the gods is actually heroic.
He made mass murderers out of his previously innocent sons.
What mass murderers? LOL this is a joke. Thingol and diorās greed brought war to them. You canāt say that a general or soldier killing during a war a mass murderer. Instead, you should blame the person that caused the negotiation to fail and the following war. Who caused the negotiation to fail? Doriath itself. Wanting to keep something not created by you is just funny and ridiculous.
He was willing to go to war and kill for three artificial jewels.
Thingol and dior were willing to go to war for āthree artificial jewelsā. What should his sons do when others refuse to return their national treasure? Tolerate others? Offer thingol and dior a damn nipple to keep these two cry-babies happy? No way. When negotiation fail, war naturally happens.
Also, the silmarils are not āthree artificial jewelsā. Do you wanna say that Yavanna asked for āthree artificial jewelsā from a mere noldo to save her greatest creation? LOL. Do you wanna say that thingol and dior were crazy with āthree artificial jewelsā? LOL again. When people use their narrow malicious ideas to try to understand Feanor I hope they donāt bring themselves into the pit.
He was a very impulsive and self-absorbed leader with a lots of hatred and tunnel vision.
Completely wrong. He was literally the greatest and the mightiest among all noldor. He was the most valorous and the best in endurance. He was a very great and foresighted leader, the one who made the most and the greatest contributions. He was misunderstood and attacked by slanders, but this does not change the fact that he was literally recorded in the real quotes as the greatest of all noldor. People should stop using their narrow and cynical ideas to distort his honorable actions.
#against slanders#LOL I hate those who distort the feanorian's right behaviors#stop those so-called self-reflecting because there's nothing wrong with us#those who attack us should self-reflect#feanor#feanorian#feanorians#you wanna blame me for not being friendly?#no one was friendly to me so this is my way of acting against the unfair treatments that I received#silmarillion

oh good lord , h i hope you know what youve gotten yourself into by asking for the fic ā¦ [insert evil laughter here] okay okay now actually , the fic series doesnt focus on serial killers it was just that one fic in the series , but the serial killer fic is Blind Mirror (linked) by StrangeDiamond on Ao3 !!!! i have the print copies of the series (behold my collection) i think i also have to mention that its not an xreader fic lol
songs of resistance isnt part of the series but yaknow whatever . the ragnvindr brothers are a passion of mine and theyre my favorites i love them so much SHIDJSKDKD AND WHILE WERE ON THE TOPIC OF FIC RECS if you just so happen to have my horrid taste in men (/hj ?????) and like alhaitham , heres another one of my absolute favorite fics , i just call it Summers Fic (i hope these links are working properly lmao) and its got our favorites !!! murder / crimes , slowburn , (kinda) enemies to lovers (i fucking love the banter the author writes between mc and haitham) , + forensics stuff !! which is totally my jam because im a stupid little science gremlin .
you saying my board looks cool is so funny to me because like its a literal stock image , and while i couldve gone without it , low quality stock images just make me giggle for no reason so .. its also a little surprising you think its detailed because when i was making it i felt like i had to condense so much information for textbox spacešš
i actually do a handful of things in the arts department , ive written my own little short stories and poems , and every once in a blue moon (when i have enough motivation) i make games ! granted theyre not very good , because im pretty sure im jackshit at characterization LOL heres a silly authors note i put in one of my short story docs just cuz why not honestly
also , YES I AM A DAIN LOVER IM ACTUALLY HIS BOYFRIEND (REAL) /j . all the khaenriah boys in general are my little sillies (i say as if they arent older than me) SO IF YOU NEED SOMEONE TO TALK ABOUT DAIN WITH MY MESSAGES ARE OPEN (and i am more than willing to spout theorist nonsense about him and the other khaenriahn boys as well)
also you absolutely do not have to worry about your wording of anything , none of it came off negatively at all ! i think youre very nice lmao
heres a little question to end off because im running out of creative ways to signoff , do you kin anyone from genshin ?
hoping the images dont glitch out ,
- jellyfish
OHHH WAIT i think i've heard of that kaeya and diluc novel thingy??? i'm pretty sure i've seen them around twitter or tiktok some time ago and omg i should check them out then!!! those covers look so good maybe i'll actually get around with the whole series now that you've mentioned it
and omg that summers fic you just linked is already so amazing. you've captured my taste in genshin men perfectly (i say as i drool over alhaitham). i just finished with the first chapter and the author have really captured my heart with the bits of forensics and crime, adding on with the tinge of arab culture too!!! i'm gonna go ahead and read them when i have the time hehe
you do short stories... poems... AND GAMES???? hello am i seeing this right
(p/s: i low-key do those kinds of a/n in my google docs draft for ma too... but they just never made it to the finalized version š)
and actually dain is in bed with me rn idk what you're talking about ššš /j
me personally i am very interested in khaenriah lore but i really haven't gotten to it (tbh the overall lore of the game is a lot to take in) but i probably will someday,, if i am not lazy /hj
and honestly... i don't exactly know who i kin in genshin tbh. so i have decided to take this VERY extensive genshin kin quiz (as per what they've named their site) and surprisingly i got... collei?
though when i read this, it made me realize that, maybe i do kin her. whoops
okay i'm heading to bed now it's 1 am and i'm busy tomorrow š it was nice talking with you again jellyfish !!! have a nice day š«¶
#h answers#okay that quiz took me longer to do than expected#i was... baffled to say the least#how did this quiz capture my character quickly#jellyfish <3
