Jungkook and your brother, Zane, were always attached at the hip as you grew up in the same neighborhood. Your house was across from the Jeons' house, and ever since you could remember, you had a crush on Jungkook. Jungkook, the boy who stole your heart the moment he came over to play soccer with your brother and accidentally kicked the ball against your head at the tender age of 10, then apologized with a warm hug. You were eight when that happened, but you knew everything. You knew you wanted to marry that boy, and you knew what you felt was real. What you did not know was that the same boy would steal your heart years later and take it with him to Singapore, leaving you stranded.
Your love story started when you began attending college, the same one that Jungkook attended; surprisingly, it wasn’t the same as Zane’s. To Jungkook, that meant he could make a move on you without the awkwardness of your brother and your parents around. After years of waiting for the right time, Jungkook took the chance when Zane told him you were unsure about where to apply to major in psychology. Of course, he recommended that you apply to his school, which, thankfully, had an amazing psychology program. You took his advice and started attending the same university.
Jungkook became your bodyguard, even though he was a computer science major in his junior year, guiding you everywhere and protecting you from any harm, basically never leaving your side. At first, he claimed it was an oath to protect his buddy’s little sister, but at one point, he finally gathered the courage to profess his love for you and asked you out; of course, you agreed, and that’s where your love story began. That’s where a year filled with love, princess treatment, and pampering started. Your relationship remained strong even after he graduated; you continued going on dates, making time for each other daily, and being completely and utterly in love.
Until he received an offer to become a CFO of a large Microsoft company in Singapore, he accepted the offer despite your objections.

(a year and a half ago)
“Jungkook, baby, I’m here!” you shouted as you entered his upscale apartment with your spare key, which he had given you the moment he bought the apartment. “Sorry, I’m a little early; I was bored and by myself.”
Jungkook was taking a shower, smiling as his heart warmed at the sound of your voice. “That’s okay, baby. Come join me.”
“No, I already showered before I came here, but you enjoy!” you exclaimed with a giggle, looking for something to occupy yourself until he got out of the shower.
His bedroom was spacious and very neat; Jungkook was a clean person, a quality you cherished about him a lot.
You were bored, trying to find something to entertain yourself with until he got out of the shower when you found something that made your heart race.
On the nightstand, under a book he was currently reading, were two plane tickets. You quickly grabbed one and thoroughly read what was written on it.
* Name: Jungkook Jeon
* Date of Flight: January 15, 2021
* Flight Number: SQ 25
* Airline: Singapore Airlines
* Departure:
* Airport: John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), New York, USA
* Time: 10:00 AM (EST)
* Arrival:
* Airport: Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), Singapore
* Time: January 16, 2021, 5:00 PM (SGT)
Class: Business
January 15 was just three weeks away. Jungkook hadn’t said a word about his trip to you. He mentioned the business opportunity he received in Singapore once, but you quickly shut down any further talk about it, completely against the idea of him leaving. He hadn’t talked about it since.
Your heart stopped for a millisecond, shock taking over your body. With shaky hands, you quickly grabbed the other ticket; it was the same flight but for a different passenger.
Your name was written on it.
Just as you tried to compose yourself, you heard a click from the bathroom door; Jungkook had finished his shower. You quickly put the tickets back where you found them. He entered the bedroom with a big smile, a towel hugging his lower body, strong arms and defined abs on display.
“Hey, gorgeous,” he leaned over your frozen body and planted a kiss on your lips before noticing the tenseness in your posture. “Hey
what’s wrong, my angel?”
“What’s wrong?” You let out a humorless laugh. “What’s wrong??”
Jungkook stood in front of you, confused and nervous, still half-naked in just a towel.
You grabbed the tickets and faced him. The color drained from his face.
“Baby, I was gonna tell you about it,” he tried to explain, but your harsh expression didn’t soften.
“When? The day you’re supposed to leave?” you said sarcastically. “Oh wait, I’m sorry, the day we are supposed to leave?”
“Yn
” the voice you usually loved suddenly angered you.
“No! Just no! How could you do that?! I told you, I don’t want this!!” Angry tears started forming in your eyes. “You can’t just make a huge decision like this without telling me!”
“I know it wasn’t a good move, baby, but this is a huge opportunity for me; you have to understand,” he tried to touch your waist, but you pushed his hands away.
“You’re joking, right?” you exclaimed, your hand in your hair as you chaotically walked around with the plane tickets in your hand before stopping. “It’s not like I don’t understand; I do! But I don’t understand how you can just decide something so big for both of us and assume I’m going to go along with it!!”
The tension between you and him could be cut with a knife, your words throwing flames of anger at him.
“Yn, if you would just listen to me for a second,” Jungkook’s voice was steady, but there was a hint of desperation. “I want you to come with me; you can continue your studies there, and we’ll get married. We can come back for every holiday and every vacation I get; it’s gonna be good. We’ll be fine.”
“And you haven’t once stopped to think about what I want? If I want to leave everything behind and move with you to Singapore, only to come back on HOLIDAYS?? Jungkook, my family is here; damn it, your whole family is here. Did you not think this through?” you yelled at him, pushing your fingers against his chest. “And what’s wrong with your current job? It pays well; it’s here! There’s nothing wrong with it.”
“I just graduated from college last year! Do you know how often I could get an opportunity like this? Probably never, and let’s be honest, nobody’s getting any younger, so I’m going to take this job!” he exclaimed, but then his voice softened again. “I can provide for us with this position, Yn; I’m going to be a millionaire my first year. This is what I dreamed of ever since I started college: to get a good job and be set for life, not just for myself, but for my future wife as well, for you.”
“Well, I guess your future wife’s a very lucky woman then, but I’m sorry, Jungkook,” you took a deep breath, tears still brimming in your eyes. “It’s not going to be me.”
Jungkook got on his knees, his head touching your leg as he begged. “Don’t say that, Yn, please don’t.”
“I’m sorry; I just cannot do this. Not right now.” You left the bedroom hastily, Jungkook immediately following you, grabbing your arm. “Let me go, please.”
“No! I’m not going to let you go!” he snapped. “You can’t just give up on us this easily, Yn. We have one fight, and you’re ready to leave? What the fuck!?”
“I’m sorry; I don’t even think this is a fight! This is you disrespecting me, my freedom, my opinion, and stepping all over my life like it’s yours to control!” you argued, cheeks flushed from overwhelming anger. “I am not your property! You can’t just control things in my life like you’re in charge of it, okay?! I won’t go to Singapore with you. Goodbye.”
As you moved to the door, he stepped in front of you, his body towering over yours. “You didn’t even think about it, Yn. Singapore is a great place; if you transfer to a school there, you’ll still get a very good education. The quality of life is amazing; the house I bought for us is huge. You’ll have enough space for yourself, and there’s even a library, baby; you’ve always wanted a library in your house. I found you a school with an amazing psychology program near our house and my work; you don’t need to think about money at all; I’ll pay for everything. I’ll get you whatever you want, baby; just come with me.”
“Our house??” You asked in disbelief. “Did you just completely lose it? You didn’t ask me if I want to come with you, and you already bought me a ticket and a house?”
It was evident that Jungkook’s patience was wearing thin as he jabbed his cheek with his tongue. “I’m sorry that I want to move forward with our relationship, Yn. I thought we talked about this: we want to get married, get a house together
have kids. What’s suddenly so wrong with that?”
“You’re right; we did talk about these things, but for later and for here! After I graduate, not when you suddenly decide you’re ready, Jungkook,” you explained, your voice a little less harsh than before. “A relationship means working together as a team. It doesn’t mean you get to make life-altering decisions behind my back.”
“So, what does this mean now?” he inquired, his heart pumping with fear.
“I don’t know; I don’t know,” you fidgeted with your hair intensely, eyes shut, clearly unsure of how to proceed. “I just really don’t want to see you right now.”
And that was the last time you saw Jungkook. You didn’t attend the farewell party your brother threw for him, nor did you say goodbye on the day he left. You successfully fought all the urges to reply to his messages or call him back, which led to an empty feeling in your heart.
You were not ready to forgive him.
At one point, you unfollowed him on all social media, muted his number, and refused to look at the pictures and messages he sent you from Singapore; you simply couldn’t.
Deciding to focus solely on college, a little over a year after Jungkook left, you graduated with honors. During the time you learned to navigate life without the love of it, you also learned to be happy within it. You cut off any thread that led you back to the feelings you had for Jungkook.
Eventually, you started living without the aching emptiness in your heart again, yet there was always something missing. You always feared you knew what – or who – it was.
___
You didn’t really know how to describe your current state.
Now 23, you had graduated college, had a steady job, and were in a relationship that was going well. From the outside, it seemed your life was perfect; there was nothing more you could possibly wish for.
You were content with where you were, but there was always something missing. Something indescribable that you subconsciously searched for.
Work was your way of distracting yourself from feeling like that, avoiding confronting your feelings at all costs, which was ironic, considering you studied psychology.
You were working on a report on your day off when Eric, your boyfriend of eight months, called your phone. You couldn’t help but sigh, yet you picked up reluctantly. “Hey.”
“Hi, baby! How is my superstar doing today?” Eric’s cheery voice spoke. “I miss you, and I thought since it’s your day off, we could go get bagels and coffee. I’ll pick you right up!”
Bagels and coffee... you were sick of getting bagels and coffee with Eric. You couldn’t remember the last time he planned something new or exciting for you.
“I’m sorry, Eric, I can’t,” you said in a distant voice. “I’m working on a report, and I have to finish this one... but we could do this another time, right? I mean, there’s always bagels and coffee.”
Eric felt uneasy with the idea that you felt so comfortable not seeing him for weeks and not even checking up on him; he was always the one to call you. If it were up to you, he wouldn’t know where you were half the time.
“Everything okay, babe?” Eric asked. “You want me to come over, cook you something? Give you a massage? Help you with your research?”
‘No, god, no,’ a voice in your subconscious mind said.
“No, it’s fine,” you reassured him, still focusing on the MacBook in front of you instead of your boyfriend. “We’ll just see each other sometime this week, alright? I’ll let you know when I’m free.”
This conversation summed up your relationship with Eric.
He was a sweet, respectful guy who worshipped the ground you walked on, seemingly always a step ahead of you in the relationship. He was already talking about your future together while you were unsure of spending a full weekend with him alone.
It freaked you out. You had only been in one relationship before, but with Jungkook, everything seemed to fall into place: both completely and utterly in love with each other, (almost) always on the same page, never wanting to leave each other’s sides, no subconscious voices in your mind or feelings in your gut telling you something was wrong; just pure excitement and joy.
You told yourself it was you growing up, becoming a ‘real adult,’ but the more you told yourself that, the more you recognized it was a lie.
At least your relationship with Eric gave you one thing you were looking for: peace.
___
Jungkook was back in town after exactly one year and seven months.
It was a small town; people talked and gossiped about everything and everyone, but that’s not how you should have found out about it, given that your brother was the one who picked him up from the airport.
It irritated you that your brother thought you were too fragile to let you know that his best friend, your ex, was coming back to town.
He didn’t know exactly what happened between you and Jungkook; neither of you went into the details of your breakup. He only knew how much love there was between you and that you weren’t willing to talk about Jungkook or hear his name during the initial months after the breakup.
He assumed it was a bad one.
You decided to call him just to see if he would mention anything about Jungkook being back.
“Hey, sis, how’s it going?” your brother answered after a few rings.
“Hi, Zane,” you bit back any snappiness. “I’m doing well. Where are you?”
He hesitated for a few moments, then you heard his footsteps, obviously walking away from whatever scene he was in before. “Just out with some friends
”
You loved how much of a bad liar your brother was.
“Who?” your curiosity was palpable.
“Damn, why do you care so much?”
“I don’t know, Zane; maybe because I heard from some girls at the nail salon that you picked Jungkook up from the airport two days ago,” you said, dumbfounded. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
He sighed into the phone, tsk’ing lightly. “I’m sorry, Yn; I just didn’t know how you were gonna react, you know?”
“Oh my god, I am not a baby! I can handle it,” you declared. “So what if Jungkook is back? What am I gonna do now? It literally changes nothing about my life. You could throw him a party and invite Bella Hadid for all I care.”
Truthfully, Jungkook being back in your orbit did mean something to you. Your first love was back where he belonged after long months without this place seeing him; it almost made you emotional to imagine him back in his childhood home, back in his first apartment after graduation, and back with your brother playing basketball in the yard and

“Actually, I am,” your brother hesitantly revealed.
“You’re throwing him a party and inviting Bella Hadid??” You only realized how ridiculous that sentence sounded after it came out of your mouth.
“No, just throwing him a welcome back party,” he chuckled a little. “You can come if you want! But only if you want; like, don’t feel pressured to be there. If you don’t come, I’ll totally understand–”
“I’ll be there!” you interrupted your brother’s rambling, who was nervous because he knew what you turned into when you were mad. “And Eric will also be there.”
“Eric?” Confused, he asked, as if he didn’t remember where he heard that name before. “Oh, yeah, your new boyfriend. Yeah, sure, take him with you.”
Even though Zane truly felt it wasn’t a good idea for your current boyfriend and Jungkook to be in the same room, he was inclined to agree with you.
You were going to attend Jungkook’s welcome back party with Eric, and you were going to look absolutely beautiful.
---
After visiting every boutique in New York with your girlfriends to find the perfect dress for your brother’s party, you finally found it and called Eric last minute to inform him that he would be your plus one for this party.
The dress you picked out was a gorgeous red number with a flattering off-the-shoulder cut and delicate lace accents, striking the perfect balance between sexy and classy, accentuating your curvy silhouette; you aimed to impress.
Eric wasn’t aware that Jungkook was your ex; he only knew that the party was for your brother’s best friend who had returned from overseas. He didn’t care whose party it was; he just thanked God that you finally called him and let him see you.
Your girlfriends knew you were indulging in self-destructive behavior by going to a party solely for your ex-boyfriend after not seeing him for almost two years, but they also knew nothing they would say could stop you, and they seemed to think you deserved closure. All of them suspected that you were still hung up on Jungkook, but none dared to speak of it until you decided to, which you hadn’t.
As you arrived at the bar your brother rented, hand in hand with Eric, his friend Marcus was the first to greet you with a big grin, evidently already too drunk for his own good.
“Hey, Marcus, you know where Zane is?” you asked, only to receive a drunkenly slurred ‘nah, but probably in the back somewhere’ as an answer.
While you walked into the place, you couldn’t help but silently praise your brother’s dedication; the venue looked good, nicely decorated with a huge sign that said ‘Welcome Back, Jungkook’ on it.
The crowd was enormous, making you almost trip in your high heels, but thankfully, you caught yourself on Eric’s arm.
“This will be the first time I meet your brother. I can’t wait!” Somehow through the loud noise, Eric still managed to be audible. “It’s about time, you know? I mean, you’ve met my entire family; I was wondering when I’d get to meet yours.”
“Yeah,” you sent a smile that didn’t quite reach your eyes his way and walked forward, until you finally saw a glimpse of Zane, seemingly engaged in an animated conversation. “He’s there!”
With gathered confidence, you gripped Eric’s hand and walked over to Zane; even though your eyes didn’t see him yet, you knew that if Zane was there, Jungkook couldn’t be far.
“Zane!” you called out to grab his attention, but the music was too loud and he was too engaged in the conversation to hear you, so you approached him closer, gripping Eric’s hand like your life depended on it.
When Zane finally saw you, he waved at you, excitedly signaling you to come closer, so you did. But there was no sign of Jungkook yet.
“Yn!!” he shouted, having indulged in some drinks himself. “Hey! Come here; let me get you a drink.”
He didn’t even spare Eric a glance before turning around, but thankfully, you gave him a subtle nod in Eric’s direction, which he immediately picked up. “Hey, man, I’m Zane, Yn’s brother. You must be Eric. How’re you doing?”
Zane gave him a friendly smile and offered him a hand, which Eric immediately shook. He was giddy to say the least, just as he opened his mouth, a deep voice from behind you interrupted him before he could speak. “Ey, Zane, there’s no fucking pizza left! It’s my damn party, and I didn’t even get a piece of pizza!”
Jungkook’s playful voice halted you for an instant. Your back was still turned to him, but as he approached the three of you, he slowly recognized who stood in front of him.
Now, he stood next to your brother, paralyzed for a second before he let his eyes wander down your face, then your entire body; a shimmer of desire and longing that could not be overlooked formed. He studied your familiar body, every curve that was once only his to touch, to explore, and the eyes that looked back at him with an innocence he could not resist.
His attention flickered to Eric for a second before fully turning to you again, with darkened eyes and flared nostrils; you were sure from his expression that Zane told him you were in a relationship now.
Your eyes wandered just the same, spotting new tattoos and much bigger biceps; he looked disgustingly handsome. He was bigger, and his presence seemed even more powerful than before he left. His hair had grown a few inches, but what always stayed the same were his eyes that never stopped looking at you the same way.
There was an awkward silence that even Eric detected before Jungkook spoke up. “Yn
it’s good to see you. You look beautiful, of course.”
There was something deep about the way he said those simple words; it was evident there was a lot more behind them.
And there was so much you wanted to say too, but all you could muster was, “It’s nice to see you too.”
You felt Eric’s and Zane’s gazes swinging from you to Jungkook while you two were lost in each other’s eyes; Eric was confused, trying to figure out what was going on, while Zane was amused yet cautious of what would happen if he left you two to it, with your boyfriend by your side.
“So, I think we should all get something to drink,” Zane was the one to break the silence before patting Jungkook on the shoulder. “C’mon, man; I’ll get you that pizza.”
They moved along, leaving you and Eric alone for a moment.
“So, do you know that Jungkook guy?” Eric carefully asked, not wanting to push you.
“He’s my brother’s best friend; of course I know him,” you answered a little snappily. “And he used to be our neighbor.”
Eric simply nodded, his grip on your shoulder tightening a bit before you slipped out of it, saying, “I’m gonna get a drink too.”
But you actually left to catch a breath of fresh air on the balcony. You felt someone following you, but convinced yourself it was paranoia until you felt the warmth of a larger body lurking behind you. You turned around and saw Jungkook looking at you with an indescribable expression.
“Please tell me that’s your new gay best friend,” he started, now standing next to you, hands on the balcony railing.
“What?” You turned your face to look at him, a sigh escaping your lips.
You were pretending that his presence didn’t affect you, pretending that you were even slightly annoyed he followed you, but you knew you wanted him to and you were glad he did.
“The guy you came with,” he clarified, a waiting gleam in his eyes.
You knew he knew that Eric was your boyfriend; he was just acting oblivious to get you to feel bad and to start a conversation about how Eric wasn’t ‘the right one for you.’ He might have been gone for over a year, but you knew Jungkook. He was predictable to you.
“No... he’s my boyfriend,” you clarified with a huff. “And what’s it to you anyway?”
He put his hand up in defense, a small smirk forming on his pretty face. “Nothing, nothing... just didn’t think he was your type is all.”
Despite not having figured out your feelings for Eric, Jungkook’s words pushed you to defend him.
“What do you mean ‘not my type’? Eric is a sweet guy, the sweetest actually, and any girl would be lucky to be with him,” you asserted, your heart racing. “He is gentle and a good communicator, and he loves me. And he would never do anything behind my back.”
Jungkook’s nostrils slightly flared as you talked about another man; he had always been the possessive one. He noticed how your stance wasn’t firm and the knitted expression on your eyebrows; a sign of uncertainty on your face he knew too well. “He loves you, huh? No doubt about it... do you love him though?”
Your breath hitched, and you felt faint for a second, not knowing how to compose yourself; you didn’t love him, no matter how much you tried. You always found yourself longing for something else... someone else. You didn’t know what to say, so you replied, “He treats me right.”
“I’d hope so...” he started, with an indescribable expression. “At least one person in that ‘relationship’ has to treat you right.”
You knew exactly what he was trying to do: making you overthink your relationship to come to the conclusion you two belonged together. But your half-healed heart refused to bring you to that place.
“What are you trying to accomplish, Jungkook?” you asked, saying his name as if it were venomous. “You left for Singapore almost two years ago; what was I supposed to do? Wait around for you until you remembered you had people who wanted to see you here? People who missed you?”
Now, he wore a spiteful expression, jabbing his cheek with his tongue. “No, you should have picked up my calls, answered my messages, let me know how you were doing. You should have at least let Zane let me know. You blocked me out of your life entirely; we are – we were in love, Yn. That doesn’t just go away overnight.”
You scoffed sarcastically to mask the pressure in your heart, affected by his words. “You think it was easy for me to do that? Guess what, Jungkook! It took a lot longer than ‘overnight’ for me to get over you, and if I had answered your calls and messages, maybe I still wouldn’t be over you!”
At that point, the loud party was a soft background noise for the two of you; you were too indulged in the rising tensions - your raising voices the only thing consuming you. Even during fights, there seemed to be no one else around you - for you.
“I wanted you to come with me! I got you a ticket, remember? The house is designed exactly how you envisioned your dream house,” he started, pain evident in his voice. “Yet, I have to live in it alone while everything reminds me of you.”
Your heart was breaking all over again, the sorrowful reflection in his gaze influencing you more than you wished. Yet, there was a rational part of you that recognized you had to stand your ground, defend yourself. You had good reasons to do what you did.
“Maybe you should have told me that before you bought a ticket for me without consulting me first!” you ranted, reminiscing the shock you felt at finding the tickets. “Or maybe you shouldn’t have taken the job offer and just stayed here like I wanted you to!!”
Jungkook had envisioned multiple scenarios about what would happen when you would see each other again. He thought about it all the time, while he was working, during sleepless nights without you by his side, while showering, working out, or fucking women that meant nothing to him... he knew exactly what you were going to say, if you would be willing to talk to him. And you were, and that made him feel happy despite the arguing because at least you were willing to argue with him, to talk to him.
He knew you, maybe more than anybody else did. He was convinced that the love between you two transcended any boundaries or obstacles.
“I know,” he admitted defeat, his voice velvety. “And I’m so fucking sorry, but please, baby, just give us another chance. I’m staying here for six months straight, and the offer to come with me after still stands.”
You felt conflicted; on one hand, you could not believe his audacity, and on the other, you were satisfied to know that he still wanted you, just like the last time he saw you.
“You can’t be serious!” you snapped. “I’m with Eric, and you can’t just come here and pretend like nothing ever happened.”
Jungkook felt your patience spreading thin and decided to go against his usual instincts to persuade you further. “Alright, I’m sorry. I just need to know one thing.”
“What?”
“Is he fucking you good?” he inquired, a possessive gleam in his eyes.
The question hung in the air like an unanswered prayer for a moment. You stood frozen before him as if you weren’t expecting him to ask that, as if you weren’t sure how to answer it.
And you truly didn’t.
“I don’t know,” came out in a whisper.
The truth was, you hadn’t let Eric that far yet, and you weren’t planning to do it anytime soon. He had an inability to make you wet, and whenever he went any further than touching your waist, you felt a slight sensation of disgust, like you would rather be fighting in a war than let Eric be inside you. You opted for telling him you were celibate, which wasn’t entirely a lie.
“What do you mean you don’t know?” Jungkook was confused, trying to decipher what you were trying to say.
“It means,” you started, slowly regaining your snappiness, “that I don’t know! I’ve never had sex with him.”
It was now Jungkook’s turn to say ‘what?!’ and it suddenly made you very aware that there were crowds of people just inside, Eric being one of them. You were lucky there were so many people blocking the view into the balcony, because if there weren’t, Eric would have found you a long time ago.
Jungkook was evidently happy with the revelation, smiling like an idiot.
“Stop smiling like that!” you hissed, motioning with your hands. “I’m just not ready yet. I told him I’m celibate. It’s none of your business anyway; why am I telling you any of this?”
Jungkook obeyed your wishes and stopped smiling; instead, he burst out laughing, so amused. “So you’ve been dating for eight months, and you still haven’t fucked? Damn, ma... we did it after the first date... and every day after.”
Before you could answer, your brother entered the balcony. When he saw you and Jungkook face to face, deep in a conversation or rather an argument, he gazed between you with an indescribable expression.
“Yn, Eric’s been looking for you everywhere,” Zane informed you with what you called ‘warning eyes’ digging holes into your face as you went back inside, leaving the two best friends alone.
___
The two weeks following the party were filled with work, for you and Jungkook alike. You didn’t run into each other again, but you did decide to unblock him.
You thought it was petty and unnecessary to deny him access to you when you would surely see him during his six-month stay here. You also wanted to see if he would notice and maybe hit you up occasionally; which he did.
Good morning texts and daily ‘how are you’s?’ filled you with an unspoken joy that you felt shouldn’t have been there, but you defended yourself by thinking, ‘I cannot control my feelings.’
Your conversation on the balcony made you think a lot through, specifically your relationship with Eric. You decided it was time to open up to him, giving him a chance to take you out properly, which he had been trying to do for a while.
So, you were getting ready for a romantic night out with Eric, putting on a gorgeous, tiny black dress that accentuated your curves and applying makeup that made you resemble an effortless beauty.
You planned to be honest with him about where you thought the relationship was headed.
---
You met up with Eric at a nice Italian restaurant in the middle of the city.
After a little small talk and finishing your meal, you sat in an awkward silence as he admired you.
You could feel something unusual but brushed it off as your usual paranoia. Eric was always a jolly person who wasn’t afraid to show his love in sometimes very overbearing ways.
“You know, Yn,” he started and suddenly got on one knee. His loving gaze spread pity over your conscience, his position weighing heavily on your chest. “I’ve never felt this way about anybody; you are bright like the stars and beautiful like a flower. I find you in everything around me. You consume my soul, Yn. I... I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?”
He took out a red box and opened it, revealing a small diamond ring. Eric waited a moment for your answer, but you sat frozen; it was too much. With the people around you watching, and Eric’s slowly saddened eyes gauging your reaction, you did not know what to do.
You questioned Eric’s self-awareness more than anything; when had you ever given him the impression that you wanted to marry him? You were sure you had never even given him a reason to think you wanted to be in a relationship with him!
You knew Eric’s lack of self-awareness would present a problem sooner or later, but you just wished it wasn’t in such a public setting, in front of at least twenty people.
Your breath quickened, and your heart tightened. You couldn’t do this anymore.
So, you grabbed your purse, stood up, and left with a hurried, “I’m sorry; I can’t do this,” leaving Eric with a humiliating crowd and a broken heart.
It felt like the right thing to do.
- - -
Once you ran to your car without looking back, you drove away from the scene.
You were so lost in thought that your subconscious acted; you set off in a direction you had not intended to go. You drove in the exact direction of Jungkook's apartment, as if it hadn’t been two years since you were last there, as if you were returning from work and it was your house.
As if your heart, and not your head, had guided you. If you had been thinking clearly at that moment, you would have given yourself a slap and reminded yourself who you were.
But you didn't, because as your grandma used to say, “Love makes a person lose their mind.”
You parked your car next to his luxury car. He still lived in the same apartment where you last fought, where you had countless sleepovers, where you lost your virginity, where you shared secrets, and made love in every corner.
You cursed and loved that apartment at the same time.
With a fog-clouded mind, you entered the complex and took the elevator to the fourth floor. Finally, you knocked on his door, '4B,' a few times before a confused Jungkook opened it.
He stood there in all of his glory, wearing grey sweatpants and an oversized black shirt, looking back at you with a questioning yet yearning gaze. “Yn?”
His voice immediately sent shivers down your spine, and you wanted to live in the eyes that devoured your lightly clothed body. “Can I come in?”
Your voice was smaller and weaker than it had ever been; he could tell there was something wrong but did not ask right away. He simply stepped aside and said, “Of course. Always.”
His eyes ran over the prominent curve of your breasts and your naked legs, begging to be wrapped around his head.
Before he had the chance to ask what was wrong, you threw yourself into his arms and whispered a desperate, “Can you just hold me?” into his ears.
He simply kissed your forehead and carried you to the couch.
You wrapped your exposed thick thighs around his waist and your arms draped around his neck, his hands resting on your hips, holding you as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
You hadn’t felt so safe since he left.
The realization that Jungkook was your safe space suddenly hit you, making you hide your face further in his neck.
He sat on the huge sofa, which led you to sit on his lap, your face still hidden in the hollow of his neck.
His large hand moved from your back to your hip, and you would have loved nothing more than to let yourself melt into his body. You had searched so long for that feeling – the feeling of being back in the arms of the only man you could love.
“What happened?” he asked solicitously, his voice rushing softly in your ears.
You refused to say anything for a few moments, totally unsure of how to explain your situation to him, or if you even wanted to.
Slowly coming out of your hiding place, you looked deep into his eyes; your eyes held a melancholy he noticed immediately. He stroked your goosebump-filled arms and brought his forehead close to yours. The atmosphere was just loving and peaceful.
“Eric proposed to me
” you sighed softly, fingers tangled in his soft black hair.
Jungkook’s eyebrows furrowed. “What?? Did you...” He coughed a bit before continuing, “Did you say yes?”
You sighed even louder. Even though you did not want to discuss it, you knew you had to eventually.
“No,” you answered, trying to maintain eye contact. “I just ran away and drove here.”
It was obvious Jungkook was trying hard to suppress a smile, so he simply wrapped his arms around you comfortingly and gently rocked you back and forth without saying a word.
You were hyper-aware of the fact that the only thing separating your wet pussy from leaving marks on his sweatpants were your thin, almost see-through panties.
You stayed in that position for a while, before leaning in and starting to place wet kisses on his neck, your fingers tightening around his hair.
His breath grew heavier as he held onto the thick flesh of your bare ass, unsure whether to let you go further or stop you.
“Yn...” his tone was uncertain yet aroused. “We really shouldn’t
”
You continued the trail of desperate kisses, unable to resist, with his familiar scent and the feel of his skin against your lips.
You already felt his dick hardening in his boxers as you gently caressed it with your hands, making him groan at the friction.
“Why not?” you asked with a pout, before palming his dick harder while grinding on his thigh. “Don’t you want to fuck me? Do I not make you hard anymore?”
You knew that neither of those things was true; you were just playing dumb to get him to give in to something you wanted, craved desperately. Your body hadn’t been properly touched in nearly two years; you were starting to get needy.
“You’re in a vulnerable state,” he stated in a raspy voice, heavily affected by your behavior. “I don’t want to do something with you that you might regret later.”
You shook your head almost vigorously, gently punching his chest; it was only gentle because your arousal was weakening your body. “No, you don’t get to leave for Singapore for two years and then come back to deny me. If I say I want you, I better get you, okay? I’ve been lonely for almost two years, Kookie; my fingers are starting to cramp from how much I touch myself thinking about it... don’t you dare deny me.”
Despite the urge to chuckle at your approach, your words made him think about you craving him just as much as he craved you; it made him feel validated and less pathetic for thinking about you after all the time and distance.
He was always convinced the love between you two transcended any boundaries or obstacles.
He captured your lips in a passionate kiss, which you reciprocated with whimpers against his familiar lips. There was no way to describe how much you missed this feeling.
Suddenly gripping your hips tighter, he stood up, carrying you to the bedroom like you weighed nothing, your pussy and his clothed dick touching delectably, evoking even more arousal from both of you.
At his bedroom, he gently placed you on the bed, looking down at you with desire-filled eyes. “You sure you want this?”
“Yes!” Your patience was wearing thin. “Just fuck me, Jungkook, and stop talking so much.”
You tugged at his shirt, and he quickly took the hint, stripping it off to reveal well-defined abs and bulging biceps, arms that looked like they could kill someone.
The last time you saw him, he was already muscular and fit, but it was evident that he took his fitness seriously while in Singapore.
You dreamily stared him up and down. “Now, the pants.”
He chuckled at your bossiness but obeyed without hesitation, leaving him in just his boxers.
You were getting impatient, already reaching for your panties to rub your pussy in anticipation, letting out small ‘hmmm’ sounds that drove Jungkook insane.
Now, he was determined to take off your dress, zipping it down hastily and almost ripping it off you if it weren’t for your hands stopping him from ruining a perfectly good dress.
“Baby, you don’t know how much I missed this,” Jungkook breathed out, eyeing you hungrily while you carefully took off your dress.
Once the dress was off, you revealed nothing more than your panties; you decided not to wear a bra because the dress was strapless and it would look silly with one.
Jungkook’s breath hitched, clearly overwhelmed by the sight of your generous breasts. “No bra?”
You shook your head and slowly approached him, roaming your hands all over him and grabbing him by the neck to pull him in for a kiss.
Your chest pressed against his, or more accurately, against his solid stomach because of your height difference; he was acutely aware of your hard nipples.
“Fuck, Yn,” he groaned, his hands roaming your body just the same. “Need to be inside you.”
“Then fuck me,” you urged, tugging at his boxers with hooded eyes and parted lips, desperation and horniness visible. “Just want you to fuck me, Kookie.”
He tilted his head back at your words, muttering a low ‘fuck,’ before positioning himself to enter your pussy. He quickly glanced into your eyes for any uncertainty, and finally, when he didn’t find anything other than an eager, awaiting expression, he entered your tight pussy with a low groan.
Your mouth widened for a second as you tried to adjust to the feel of his dick again, eliciting loud moans of pleasure and slight uneasiness.
He pressed you against the wall for more support, thrusting deeper into you. He watched his dick enter your pussy; it was almost poetic to him how perfectly made for him your pussy felt.
There were no afterthoughts about the situation being wrong, absolutely no overthinking about Eric, who was blowing up your phone while you were getting your back blown by your ex.
It felt right; you and Jungkook knew you were meant to be, and there was nothing that could happen, no one that could come between you. At the end of the day, you were always going to be back in each other’s arms.
“Shit, baby, you’re so fucking wet,” he panted, his lips pressing against your cheeks. “Still so fucking tight for me...”
You let out an aroused purr, already fucked out before even starting. Your hands were gripping his big arms, and your hips were moving towards him, seeking more friction.
“I’ve been dreaming about this moment, baby,” he admitted between low groans, moving in and out skillfully. “You know how many times I fisted my dick thinking about fucking you again?”
“Me too,” you desperately moaned back, bouncing slightly; the sound of slapping skin surrounded the air. “Fuck, Jungkook
 love that dick
yes, I fucking love that dick
”
Your barely comprehensible words drove him crazy, gripping your hips and fucking you like you were a fuck toy. “Shit, baby, that pussy’s mine, yeah? Only mine. No one else gets to - fuck - no one else gets to have you like this.”
You nodded, burying your fucked-out face in his broad shoulder, vocalizing the pleasure you felt at every thrust. Your breath tickled his skin, and the warmth of his hands contrasted the coldness of the wall beautifully.
His big dick moved inside of you in a steady rhythm, each thrust making your eyes roll back further.
Your bodies pressed against each other sexually, big breasts spilling out against his strong chest, your hands moving around his back to scratch him harshly, and his grip on your ass and hips becoming almost painful; you were both begging for release.
“Harder, Kookie. Do it harder,” you begged, not caring how desperate you sounded. “That dick feels so fucking good. Oh god, Jungkook.”
He indeed started to fuck you harder, heavy breaths becoming even heavier, lips connecting again and again in sensual kisses. His moans against your lips drove you wild.
The raw intensity of the moment was driving you insane; you felt every inch of his beautiful dick, and he was feeling your pussy entirely, without the almost restrictive feeling of a condom.
“Shit, shit, shit, shit,” he panted with every quickened motion of his dick, his mouth forming an ‘o.’ “Baby, I’m g’na cum. Shit, I’m g’na cum so fucking hard.”
Feeling your high approach as well, you didn’t care about the consequences at all; you planned to go on birth control first thing in the morning, saying, “Cum inside, Jungkook. Please, just fill me up with that cum.”
Your bodies moved together rhythmically, his steady thrusts hitting exactly the right spots as you chased your orgasm. Your eyes locked together and your moans became intertwined.
Low ‘fuck’s and ‘oh god’s were all you heard, as both of you were too deep into the pleasure to formulate real sentences.
With one final thrust and a muttered ‘yes, just like that,’ he found his release, his thick, warm cum deliciously filling you. You closely followed, your back arching and head thrown back, the two of you coming hard.
His broad body momentarily collapsed against yours, both panting hard, still pressed against the wall. He whispered praises and sweet nothings in your ear while trying to regain composure.
“I’m so happy I came here,” you softly kissed him, and he agreed with your words, muttering a ‘me too’ against your lips.
You felt hazy and tired, but you tried to slowly get off Jungkook and get to the bathroom, which you eventually did with his help; he carried you all the way there.
After you finished cleaning yourselves up, you headed straight to the bed. You lay bare on your stomach, still somewhat overstimulated and hazy from the orgasm.
Jungkook gently stroked your backside, muttering things like, “You did so good for me, baby,” and “You don’t know how much I missed this fucking pussy,” before leaning in and biting into your shapely ass playfully, eliciting a gasp from you.
He spread kisses on your ass cheeks and slowly separated them; he stuck his head in between and gave your hole a few licks before gently sucking on the skin of your ass with his skillful tongue.
Your legs started to tremble from pleasure and mild discomfort; Jungkook had eaten you before, but you seldom did that in the bedroom.
The more you thought about it, the more you realized how terrified your brother would be if he knew what you two did.
“Jungkook!” you purred, arching your back for more pressure against his tongue. “Oh fuck
 oh my god, oh god.”
Jungkook’s groans and low chuckles sent vibrations through your body, deepening the pleasure and making you seek your high more.
“Fuck, this fat ass is still as good as I remember,” he praised against the sensitive skin, still kneading and spanking it hard. “Wanna stay like this forever.”
He returned to licking and probing your asshole, clearly enjoying your squirming figure. You pushed your ass up, hoping for more friction.
You were practically already fucked out and overwhelmed that you couldn’t answer with more than a simple agreeing moan.
You started grinding your ass against his face, desperately wanting to cum again, enjoying the feel of his tongue against you.
His licks and your grinding quickened, which quickly turned into a series of ‘ah, ah, ah’s as you came undone on his tongue.
When your panting lessened, you turned around, lying on your back in bliss.
You fell asleep in each other’s arms almost immediately.
Jungkook thought this was the nicest way you could have welcomed him back.

Heath Sisters PT 2 (USWNT x Teen!Reader)
Masterlist
USWNT X Teen!Reader
Tobin and Y/N make it to camp.
This is a Reader story with Y/N, but I wrote it in third person because that made more sense in my head.
Tumblr media
Part 2
“Where are they? I swear if we miss lunch because of these two I’m going to be so mad.”
“Calm down Kelley I’m sure that they just hit a snag and got caught up with something. Coach checked and according to the notice that she got, they got on the plane.”
“I know, but I’m hungry.”
“You are always hungry.” Ali looks back towards the exit to the luggage claim where the sisters would be exiting from. She spots two girls, one of which is pointing them out to the other. “I think that’s them.”
Kelley’s head shoots in the direction that Ali is looking and starts bouncing on the balls of her feet as the sisters make their way over.
“Hi my name is Tobin and this is my little sister Y/N.
“H-Hi.”
“Nice to meet you both. I’m Ali and this is Kelley. We are your ride to the hotel.” She glances down and notices that they only have a couple of backpacks and one small bag between the two of them. “Do you have all of your things?” Y/N’s gaze immediately finds her feet while Tobin shifts uncomfortably.
“Ya, about that. They lost Y/N’s bag and sent it to Florida. They are just sending it back to New Jersey because it won’t get back here before we leave.”
“Wow. Do we need to stop anywhere before we head back to the hotel? The mall? Target?”
“No, we need to get back to the hotel. We don’t want to miss lunch.” Y/N's head shot up at the mention of food.
“That's ok we can pick something up.”
“No, it’s fine. We can worry about it later. I know that we are already running late.”
“If you're sure. I just want to make sure you have the time before we get too busy.”
“No yeah it’s fine. I’ll get it all figured out.”
Ali nods and they all head out to the car. Kelley drives them all to the hotel. Jill is waiting for them in the lobby as they make their way inside.
“Hello! I’m coach Ellis. Tobin it’s nice to see you again, and you must be Y/N.” She nods her head and subtly grabs the back of Tobin’s shirt. “Why don’t you guys head to the meal room? There is still about 15 minutes left of lunch, then I’ll give you your room key and you’ll both have some time to settle in. First team meeting isn’t until after dinner." She leaves them to go grab lunch while they still have time. The group of four make their way into the room and find a table pretty easily since everyone else already ate. Lunch was benign served buffet style with chicken sandwiches and veggie burgers being the main course.
“You’ll have to be one of the first ones here to get the good stuff, but even this won’t be bad.” Kelley informs them.
Tobin leads her sister over to the food and helps her make a plate of a chicken sandwich and a salad. Tobin makes an identical plate and they start to dig in as soon as they sit down.
“You think that you hadn’t eaten all day with the way you two are eating.” Kelley teases, Ali slaps her arm and shakes her head to tell her to knock it off.
“We were running late and didn’t have time for breakfast so we haven’t.” Tobin’s lie rolls right off her tongue in response to the observation. She had been doing it long enough to cover up their money problems that she no longer has to think about it.
“What about snacks on the plane?”
“They only had peanuts and Y/N’s allergic.”
The two of them are so distracted by the food in front of them that they don’t notice Ali observing them between bites of her own lunch. When they finish they find Jill to get their room keys and head up to settle in.
“What are we going to do about clothes?” Y/N asks softly.
Tobin lets out a sigh, “I’m not sure? We don’t have the money to get you new clothes.” She sighs again, “I’m sorry Y/N. You’ll have to wear your soccer gear and some of my stuff while we’re here. It’ll be too big, but it’s better than nothing.” Y/N nods and walks over to her sister.
“It’s not your fault. It’ll be ok. It always is.” Y/N hugs her sister and pulls her down on the bed.
“Nap time?”
“Nap time.”

💭 richgirl!aeri x studentathlete!reader
not proofread j some silly thoughts💕
pt.1 | pt.2
- you were thrilled to know you were going to share a dorm with another international student, specially since you were having a hard time adjusting.
- giselle was a sweetheart from day one, introducing you to everyone and making sure you always felt included.
- she was very classy and noticeably wealthy—you could tell, by her clothes and by the way she carried herself, that she came from money. besides, whenever you’d go out to fancy museums or coffee shops, something would always make your eyes grow big: always amused to your surroundings—yet she’d never bat an eye at it.
- you were given a full ride scholarship, and the only reason you were attending this specific university was due to the soccer coach spotting you at an international club tournament you played in new york and scouting you. you were hesitant, at first, but you weren’t going to get an offer to a university that was that prestigious at home anyway, so you decided to go.
- your parents were still paying for your stay, with much effort, so you tried to spend as little as possible.
- which meant subtly ducking from your roommate’s daily coffees and girl dates.
- giselle actually thought you didn’t like her until she realized you spent most of the time in the dorms because you were quite literally broke.
- it’s an issue she solves quickly enough.
- at first she just bluntly offers to pay for your stuff, but stops herself as you keep denying her efforts, with a flustered face. it’s only when she changes techniques that she starts succeeding in her efforts.
- she’s subtle, then: giselle gifts you clothes she claims that are “thrifted”, makes sure there’s always your favorite drink placed on your desk whenever you return from your practices, buys you the shoes she caught you lurking on the internet for far too long, claiming it’s your birthday present—even though your birthday isn’t until the upcoming months...
- accepting a purse she claimed she’d never used and “was in her closet for ages”. you later get told by a classmate said purse was just out of stock in seoul, even though it had just been announced
- you don’t suspect a thing, keeping her little gifts and dismissing them as just little treats she gives you as a friend. it’s giselle, after all. she was born into luxury, and gift giving is her primary love language.
- besides, you grew tired of rejecting her efforts to spoil you, and you hate to see her so offended when you tell her you just can’t keep that many presents. you hate the faces she does when she doesn’t get what she wants. and it frustrates you to not be able to gift her just the same. you wish you could spoil her rotten, too.
- as you stop telling her ‘no’, giselle becomes more and more confident.
- “it’s what roomies do, Y/n, don’t worry.” she assures you every time you try to give her the gifts back. in reality, giselle loves to see you dolled up in the stuff she chose. being the star player, you quickly gained popularity, so what better way to tell those useless whores who were always ogling you that you belonged to her already? what better way than having her brand all over you?
- she even gave you a friendship ring, as she called it, once you two went to the university’s fall ball, to symbolize how deeply you’ve connected since you started attending uni.
- you were basically either with your teammates or aeri and her friends. she was pretty, outgoing and naturally insanely popular. she dragged you with her everywhere, having you follow her around like a puppy. you didn’t mind, though: her friends were funny enough, and you liked getting to hear the drama and the gossips without being a part of it. they were also always polite to you, too, so you enjoyed hanging out with her and her group. they weren’t your friends, though. you reminded yourself that every now and then. just colleagues.
-
- she loved how shy you got when she touched you, too. it took her much, much patience, but after nearly a whole year, you were finally comfortable enough to be relaxed at her touches.
- an occasional hand on your waist, a kiss on the cheek; hugs that went for perhaps too long, cuddling sessions in the dorm as you watched her turn her buzzing phone off (she had a party to attend when you called her for a movie night. “oh, it’s ok unnie!! have fun.” you told her, but giselle was already sitting beside you and grabbing a hold of the blanket for herself.)
- she insisted on cuddling until you fell asleep too, even though your bed didn’t exactly fit both of you. however, you couldn’t bring yourself to deny her anything, already feeling like you owed her so much. she was the one who was always taking care of you, not only with her little gifts. she was always asking about your practices, if you needed any help with your classes, whether people were being nice and polite to you, since you still struggled with your korean when talking to many people at once. you were truly grateful to have her, so, naturally, you’d do anything for her.
- you’d often find yourself waking up with her hands groping your tits or lingering too close to the hem of your panties, but you’d never think much of it, dismissing it as your friend being just unconscious while sleeping.
- she was possessive, too. you could see the cold stare she gave your teammates whenever you had one of them over to study. funny enough, they never looked at you the same way again, nor did they accept your invitations to host movie nights anymore.
- your only friend (besides aeri) was jini. you were both new to the team and had many classes together. like you, she was shy, lost and very reserved, which was part of the reason you instantly clicked. you enjoyed hanging out with her between classes and practices, even more once you got to know her a bit better: jini was actually quite energetic and bubbly, always talking about her favorite mangas or the new songs she was listening to. you liked to hear how passionately she talked about things, sometimes so immersed she wouldn’t even notice you getting left behind in the sea of people, as you walked through your classes.
- naturally, giselle despised your teammate, always making sure to hug you extra hard and send her hard glances whenever you looked away.
- whenever she felt as if you didn’t have 100% of your attention on her, she’d buy you a fancy gift: an ipad of your favorite color, a watch, new earrings... it kept you clingy for days, entertained with your new stuff; just as she liked it.
- the first time you fucked, the two of you had just returned to another one of her fancy dinners with her friends. you were drunk, hot, and messy, struggling to get out of the small black dress that clung tightly to your body— which, of course, giselle had chosen for you to wear. you asked for help to take it off, but as soon as you felt your roommates long fingers trace your bare back, you lost it: you turned around, kissing her fiercely as the dress fell onto the ground, leaving you completely exposed.
- a wave of wind roamed through the window, hitting your body and making you shiver, feeling your nipples harden and your conscience returning. you took a step back, murmuring apologies and being extremely embarrassed, until you felt her hands on your waist again, pushing you onto your mattress as her body hovered on top of yours.
- she whispered it was ok; her pretty pet was horny, that’s all. she’d take care of it. and so she latched her mouth onto your body, making you moan loudly.
- you woke up still dizzy, with your body filled with bruises. you were still ashamed but deeply satisfied, and aeri brushed your hair as she said you could still be friends or something else, if you’d like.
- from then, you’ve been her girlfriend, though things had hardly changed. only now, she encouraged you to be vocal about the things you wanted her to buy for you, and you had to work for them.
- regardless, you love being her pet ;)
-
bonus: you didn’t realize you were kind of her sugar baby (even though she was only months older) until one of your teammates pointed it out, giving you a whole lot of harsh words and making a show of talking about how you were only with aeri because of her money. you ignored your girlfriend for a whole week after that, until she decided she’d given you plenty of space and confronted you with a serious tone. you started crying and she listened attentively as you explained the filthy words your teammate had said to you and all of her twisted suggestions. giselle nodded and pulled you close, kissing you and reassuring she knew none of that was true. yes, you were kind of a sugar baby since giselle spoiled you so much, but it didn’t have to be like that if you didn’t want it to be. you brushed your tears away, saying it wasn’t that; the girl’s words were just so agressive
the thought of people feeling so sure you didn’t love giselle as much as she loved you was overwhelming, which was why you distanced yourself. she understood, murmuring for you to tell her immediately when such things happened instead of refusing to see her, which you nod as she kissed the top of your head.
the girl gets expelled from your team 2 days after your conversation with giselle. however, you don’t connect the dots, only shrugging and not paying much attention to jini’s words as you walk to the cafeteria.

Itoshi sister?
Tumblr media
So, ep9 (Night Snow) got me think and I can’t shake off the idea: what if the Itoshi brothers had a sister? A girl who had grown up with soccer balls just like them and has the same killer mentality on the field.
(okay, it belongs to the truth: my Blue Lock oc is also an Itoshi girl but here I’ll try to go by the big picture and not just especially her.)
female!itoshi who is the identical female twin of Rin, but she’s the younger by two hours. Rin never fails to remind her of this.
female!itoshi who also has a three-letter name (my oc is called Mei).
female!itoshi who had trained soccer from the day she could walk, but only in secret for she heard Sae saying girls are dumb to soccer.
female!itoshi who made her enter to the soccer world just as fabulous as Rin. On a day, feeling bold and having enough from solo practice she simply marched in into the kindergarten training field (it’s official on the Blue Lock wiki that Rin had a kindergarten team). Rin was 5 (slightly a year passed from the match when he received Sae’s pass) and Sae 7, already in elementary school. So Mei simply marched in and challenged the best player, a boy who was almost a full head taller than her, to a 1v1 match. She was fast, and when the boy tried to push her on the ground, she turned with the momentum, took the ball from him and scored a goal. Rin simply jumped at her happily, but Sae had also seen her for he came for the twins to the kindergarten that day. He walked to Mei, knelt before her, caressed her head and claimed that she is the only female player who has the right to stand with the boys. And he will teach her everything to surpass any other players in the world.
female!itoshi who was a legend in elementary school with her brothers. They have visited elementary school for four years together, and they became famous not just in the prefecture but also in the country. She and Rin always pushed each other for better results and more goals and Sae watched them with a faint smile on his face.
female!itoshi who gets bullied by the other girls a lot of times in elementary school. She was always taller, more muscular, cursed like a sailor because she was amongst boys all the time, and most of all, she didn’t give a damn about tipic elementary girl things like fashion, mobile phones or boys (in romantic ways). They often chased her out of the changing room, insisting she isn’t even a girl. Rin always wanted to punch these girls on the face but Sae solved the problem by humiliating them verbally.
female!itoshi who loves to sit on the seaside with her brothers, whose favourite ice cream/popsickle is the raspberry one. Whose favourite soccer player is Luka Modric. Who is extremely proud of Sae when he gets scouted to go to Spain and asks for a Modric autograph and a dedicated jersey.
female!itoshi who, when she saw that boys start to grow by puberty, developed an own soccer style. With her flexibility and agility she even uses acrobatic movements sometimes and has learnt how to take advantage from the other people’s momentum when they want to push her away, just like in aikido. Her shots are almost flawless although her shooting range is shorter than Rin’s. She also loves to use fake shots and the Itoshi siblings’ signature trivela shot. She and Rin got famous as the unstoppable “Itoshi twins” while Sae was in Spain. They simply sense each other’s presence on the field and their technique is already superior both in solo and duo.
female!itoshi who never got to know what happened on the field when Rin and Sae parted ways in the night of Sae’s homecoming. When Sae was done with Rin, he got home. She was extremely happy for her brother finally arrived and asked him to teach her some “original Spanish dribbles”. Sae refused her, saying girls have nothing to do with soccer and she broke down, temporarily muted by the shock.
female!itoshi whose relationship with Rin sucked after Sae had abandoned them. Rin wanted to defeat Sae alone and looked at his sister as an outsider for she wasn’t there on the field on that night to support him. She didn’t even understand why Rin hates her out of the blue but as an Itoshi, she chose fighting back instead of proper speaking. This is how the Itoshi twins’ ego had been born and they ended up fighting in front of their team, always cursing at each other/not even acknowledging the being of the other, racing who can score more goals in the championships.
female!itoshi who turned from a cocky, mischievous and arrogant girl to a cold, blunt and reserved young woman due to her brothers' betrayal on her. She rarely smiles and never laughs, only keeping her pride and egoism from her younger self.
female!itoshi who has still a perfect relationship with their mother. She doesn’t want to speak about their sibling’s-rival-iwantyoudead situation, but their mother has eyes and can easily figure things. She doesn’t want to do anything though, willing her kids to solve things on their own, when they are ready.
female!itoshi who kept her black hair long until the age of 15. But after Sae abandoned her and her relationship with Rin got wrecked, she cut it to a messy shoulder-length. She turned to hate that she has the same teal eyes and sharp features like her brothers and she didn't want to remember them every time she looked in the mirror.
female!itoshi who gets in Blue Lock under the alias of Itoshi Rui, Rin’s male twin. She wears a tight sports bra and bandages underneath because from the years of intense training she has a well-built muscular body with feminine curves.
female!itoshi who is in one of the team V's, but apart from Rin in the first selection. She ended up scoring the most goals in her building, freaking out everyone as she has a notably slimmer built than the others and is smaller at 5'7" (170 cm).
female!itoshi who reached second place in the second selection, teaming up with Rin and Aryu. Throughout the selection she gets close to Bachira and Chigiri, kind of rebuilding her relationship with Rin too. They aren't as close as they were before but can play together, being the unstoppable Itoshi twins again.
female!itoshi who has the slightest crush on Nagi but drops the idea away instantly, figuring she can't concentrate on soccer in 100% when she feels these dumb things.
female!itoshi who Ego knows about, just letting her play out of curiosity.
female!itoshi who manages to score a goal together with Rin against the world all-stars. They get defeated by 5-2 but it still isn't 5-1.
female!itoshi who ends up in the top 6 as 3rd behind Rin and Shidou, the other three being Karasu, Yukimiya and Nagi. They can't help but wonder how other her body is built, using off the ball technique, speed and special kicks instead of power.
female!itoshi who Karasu has a crush on but knows better to let her know. Karasu knows her identity from an earlier match his team lost against the Itoshis and loves her from then on.
female!itoshi who makes her way in the Blue Lock starting lineup, playing right wing.
female!itoshi whose favourite anime is Attack on Titan and listens to the ost the evening before the match against the U20 team. Before the match, she draws the Wings of Freedom on her wrist and Chigiri says her: "Tatakae".
female!itoshi who gets her knee injured during the U20 match while landing instable. However she only puts ice on her knee in the break, refusing to be substituted, cursing like a sailor at anyone who suggests her to sit on the bench.
female!itoshi whose aura is the universe, picturing "unconscious destruction" which matches her brothers' auras too.
female!itoshi who steals the ball in the last 5 minutes from Sae himself and reaches the flow state. She breaks through the "iron wall" herself and scores from a powerful jumping shot.
female!itoshi who, after winning the match for the Blue Lock, takes off her jersey in front of the entire stadium, revealing the bandages around her breasts and her true gender too. She makes the Scout regiment's salute and the stadium nearly erupts.
female!itoshi who recovers in the two-weeks break, telling her mother a lot about Blue Lock and even meeting up with the others once. Otoya obviously has a crush on her but they end up goofing around as she gets back some of her old personality.
female!itoshi who choses FC Barcha in the Neo Egoist League in order to make bigger use of her physical abilities and learning to control her body even more. They are not the best but beat Ubers and playing a tie with Manshine City. She gets extremely high bids, ranking as 3rd.
female!itoshi who speaks English AND German fluently since she saw Attack on Titan and got inspired. When Kaiser starts to develop a crush on her and tries to corner her, she tells him to fuck off in German with a perfect pronounciation.
female!itoshi whose personal life is a hot topic on BLTV. It changes daily who is she shipped with and she learnt to not give a shit about it pretty fast.
Idk how accurate it is, if anyone has better ideas, please write it in comments. I think it's pretty interesting how a girl's ego and personality works in such a competetive environment if she had already grown up with brothers like Rin and Sae. What do you think?

>.< Lil akito hcz?!... /nf
(*shows chu cool sticker collection* :3 arf)
Woah so many cool stickers! Thank you for showing me Ren! Hehe *Takes a sticker and puts it on your nose* Good puppy! Also I think I’m gonna start listing age range headcanons in each post because. My initial ones are like. Y’know 300 posts down-
Little Akito
────⋆⋅☆⋅⋆──
⋆ I actually haven’t written much for little Akito? Which I think is crazy cuz he’s just a little guy. I think he regresses to like 4-6! So not really a baby, but definitely in the toddler age range! He’s old enough to like talk a bit and be somewhat coordinated, while still tiny enough he gets overwhelmed and can’t communicate things great! Also chaotic age >:3 But I’ll get into that in a bit hehe
⋆ Akito overworks himself, like a lot. He always insists that he has to be the best, even if literally no one is asking that of him. There’s a lot of times where he pushes himself too hard practicing. Not to mention schoolwork is an additional stress factor, he’s not the best at it
He just gets so stressed out! He gets overwhelmed and it’s a lot easier to just give his brain a break and give in to the urge to be a little baby. He deserves it
⋆ Akito is very fussy! Since he usually regresses from feeling overwhelmed, he gets easily overwhelmed when he’s feeling small! No loud or sudden noises, he needs the right textures, his caregiver has to tell him what they’re doing as they do it. Otherwise it’ll lead to a meltdown! If he has a meltdown his caregiver should just let him cry it out. His household didn’t exactly encourage expressing your emotions, so he really needs this outlet to express them when he’s regressed
⋆ Don’t let the baby do anything! Akito already overworks himself, so when he’s feeling small that’s his time to stop working, even is he claims otherwise. At first he’ll try to do things! He’ll try to dish up his own snacks, set up shows or games. But as he gets deeper into headspace he’ll give in more, by the end of the night he can’t even hold his own bottle. So his caregiver can happily hold it for him, letting the little one just rest and accept being fawned over!
⋆ Akito can be a bit of a brat hehe. Once he gets over his initial angst of ‘I need to be productive’ he’d very demanding! He’ll point to anything and everything he wants, refusing to move. He also wants to be held! But he’s a hypocrite because while he’s cuddling his caregiver sometimes he’ll just sit up and lean away to play with something. He’s allowed to stop the contact, but if his caregiver sets him down, prepare for screaming
⋆ Akito can’t talk that great, but he does know a few select words! His favorite being “No”, he loved just chanting that. He also knows “Bad” and words that aren’t really words? Things like “Yay” and “Yuck”. You might be saying, hey that’s a pretty limited vocabulary, how does he communicate? He screams. If he wants something, if he’s uncomfortable, sometimes even when he’s happy. He’ll just start screaming. Best solution is to hold a pacifier in his mouth until he settles down to start sucking on it, truly a mute button
⋆ I think Akito loves drawing! Some of his favorite memories from his childhood are drawing, whether it’s with Ena or he was drawing after just hearing about it all the time. He was never pressured into it like Ena sometimes was, so he has good feelings around the activity! He’s not a fan of coloring, but if he is coloring for whatever reason he’ll color outside of the lines! For example he’ll give random creatures wings or a unicorn horn, or draw toys on the ground for them to play with!
⋆ Soccer! I always love the fact that Akito played soccer when he was younger, and he was pretty devoted to it too! Things happened and he stopped, but I think when he regresses he’d like to play again! He loved running around in the backyard and kicking around a ball! Sometimes he falls and he’ll scratch his knee or something
But he’s a real champ! Give him a cool bandaid and he’s ready to go! A healing kiss helps a lot too of course!
────⋆⋅☆⋅⋆──
I am so sorry this took so long- I have family coming in soon and things have been chaotic. But it’s here now!

Hey! I was wondering if I could request for Van Palmer? Something along the lines of the reader coming to terms with their sexuality?
It’s totally cool if you don’t want to write this request lol also kinda might start sending in asks so im gonna claim am emoji -đŸŸ
sorry this took so long but i'm back and able to write again so here u go! this was getting very long so if u guys like it i'll happily make a part two!!<3
You were never a “talkative kid.” You were never one that could spell words like gargantuan or manganimus. You were never helping with your classmates’ homework or told you were exemplary. Your grades were average; A’s and B’s, but nothing exemplary.
Though there was one thing you were exemplary at. One thing that if given the chance to write about, you’d always be given the highest score. One single thing, completely apart from the rest that could get you an award for your writing.
Funnily enough. It was Soccer. You’d gotten an award for writing about soccer.
You always liked Soccer. Ever since you were little. You liked playing with your friends, hanging out with them. You liked the hugs that came after a big win, the friendships, the relationships. You liked the team bonding. You liked the sleepovers and parties. You liked getting close with the best of the girls because you were also one of the best. You liked the small, intimate group you had, and the small, intimate time you spent together.
You liked the times where you would have a sleepover and cuddle with one another. Sleepovers where you would kiss to ‘practice’ for boys. Sleepovers that got you so close you were hugging and leaning on each other all the time, lying your head in each other’s laps.
Sleepovers that somehow dwindled down to you and one other girl by eighth grade. A girl that you’d kiss to practice for boys that didn’t exist. A girl you held hands with at school and took to lunch on weekends with each other’s babysitting money.
A girl that moved away before highschool.
You started freshman year without friends, signing up for soccer tryouts and hoping that would get you somewhere.
You ended up on JV and it seemed the rising sophomore class had already gotten so close that your effort to make friends in soccer proved less than fruitful.
When you played scrimmages against varsity, the group hardly passed to you and kept it within their small circle.
There were two girls, Mari and Akilah, who you got along fine with, but they weren’t close, so you had to talk to one or the other during practice which meant you weren’t close with them either.
That left you in your own little bubble freshman year, floating around. No one really disliked you, but no one knew you either. Not even your own teammates.
Luckily, though, around winter break, you were asked out. You didn’t really know the guy, but Jackie, one of the sophomores in his grade and on the Soccer team, said he was nice.
So you said yes.
And suddenly after a winter break of calling this guy and getting hot chocolate with him, you were in with Jackie
Which meant you were in with Shauna, which meant the ball was passed to you, which meant they started to see how good you were, which meant they started to like you.
“Hey!” Jackie came up to you, Mari, and Akilah after practice.
You’d slowly been getting them closer so the three of you could hang out. You figured you could then start passing to them and get them in with the other girls without a whistle-blow from Coach Scott for changing a play.
“You three wanna come with us? Team bonding?”
“Sure!” You said first, all too enthusiastic and making her chuckle.
“I have to study,” Akilah said.
“Yeah, same,” Mari said, giving you a sympathetic smile. “Have fun, though!”
“Oh, we will!” Jackie looped her arm through yours as you gave your new friends a look. “Come on. You can tell me all about Mark— he’s friends with Jeff, you know?”
“Jeff?”
“My boyfriend.”
“Oh
”
“Oh, good! You brought her!” Nat, another sophomore, said.
“I told you the other two would say no.” Jackie shrugged.
“Still nice to ask everyone,” Lottie, the only one that’d actually introduced herself to you, said. She also gave you everyone else’s name. Which was helpful since they definitely weren’t going to introduce themselves.
“Hey,” except maybe one of them, She was shorter, redheaded, and the goalie. She gave you a sweet smile as she held out her hand. “Have you met everyone?”
You took her warm hand, shaking gently and earning even more of a smile. “Lottie,” you gestured to the brunette with your free hand, “told me about everyone.” She only nodded. “Vanessa? Right?”
“My friends call me Van.” You nodded, giving a small smile as you still mindlessly shook her hand. “You can call me Van,” she added with a smirking laugh, eyes darting to Lottie briefly. She had a feeling she told you her name was Vanessa on purpose.
The brunette was grinning from ear to ear, hands slapping at Nat’s as they both laughed together.
“Van.” You dropped her hand. “I’ll remember that.”
“Oh, I hope so—”
“Leave her alone,” Taissa butted in, laughing. “You can ride with us if you want.”
“Sure.” You agreed, walking next to Van as the group dispersed. “Where are we going?”
“I think Jackie’s,” she said. “She’s been dying to meet you and shit now that you're dating Mark.” You nodded. “Whole team has, really. You know, you’re pretty good?”
“Thanks, I think?” You frowned. “I’ve played since I was, like, eight.” She nodded along. “You guys are great. I mean, you’re the best high school team I've seen— Van, I’ve never seen a better goalie.” She smiled, shaking her head. “No, seriously,” you insisted when she went to object. “You must, like, study every player or something—“
“She does,” Taissa said.
You were glad you were usually on her team during JV scrimmage, or it’d be a challenge to get a goal.
“Insane.” You shook your head. “I can only ever tell if someone’s injured.”
“Oh, really?” Van asked, curious.
“Mhm. It’s pretty easy.” She frowned. “Just check the bench. Works every time.” Taissa stifled a laugh, Van laughing out loud.
“I thought you were serious,” she laughed.
“Yeah I could tell. You were all
” You imitated her face, making Taisa laugh.
“Come on, Tai!” Van hit her shoulder. “You’re supposed to be on my side!”
The ride to Jackie’s was spent receiving questions from Tai as Van just listened in or responded to something Tai said.
There was something about this girl. The way she spoke. The way she looked at you through the rearview mirror, checking to make sure you were comfortable. She was sweet, obviously, but there was something else. Maybe, it was just the fact that she was pretty and red-haired, but something about her was all too attractive.
In the sense that you wanted to be her friend, of course.
By the time you got to Jackie’s, the other girls were already there and inside while her parents ordered food for all of you.
They greeted you from the kitchen at the opposite end of the giant house and told you the girls were “in the parlor”.
“You’ll get used to it,” Van said, walking with you to the living room, which was one of many but clearly the most casual of them.
“Hi!” Jackie was quick to pull you by her.
The night was spent getting interrogated, practically, about your boyfriend while you ate pizza and watched shitty movies until people started falling asleep.
You were up late with Van, who, like you, seemed to enjoy the shitty movie on screen. She grabbed the two of you a board game to play while you watched.
“So, do you wanna tell me about yourself at all?” She laughed. “I know more about Mark than my new teammate now.”
“Wasn’t really prepared for that one,” you joked, making her chuckle as you took your turn. “Well, all my old soccer friends are at different high schools now,” you said, shrugging. “So if you’re wondering—“
“Why you seem like such a loner?” She interrupted, making you laugh. “I was a little curious.”
“Jeez,” you laughed. “My best friend moved, like, across the country, and the rest of my friends are on rival teams now
 And I’ve beat them all—“
“Fuck yeah, you have!” She laughed.
You spent most of the night talking with Van, who seemed to have been waiting to talk to you alone. She hardly spoke in the group conversation, but now she was lively and engaged. Maybe it was because the conversation had less to do with your boyfriend, and more to do with you. Maybe because she actually got to know you. You couldn’t tell.
There was just something about her.
At the next practice, you were getting the ball passed to you regularly, but never close enough to score.
Maybe because the one time you tried, Van blocked it like it was nothing, but that was weeks ago.
Which meant you were determined to best her now.
When Tai passed you the ball, you made a move to get it to Akilah. Just as quickly as you passed it, it was stolen by Nat, but Mari got a read on what you were trying to do and got it back.
“Mari!” Tai waved, but she quickly passed it to Akilah now that no one was guarding her.
She passed the ball to you, and as quickly as you got it you were kicking it at the goal without moving from your spot.
“Ah, fuck,” Van muttered, having been counting on you coming toward her and already moving to the right of the goal. She jumped toward the left to block, but the ball barely brushed her fingers before getting caught in the net.
“Yes!” Mari yelled, high fiving both you and Akilah when they made their way to you. “That was clean!”
“It was sloppy,” Tai said, coming up to the three of you as the rest of your mock team came as well. “Just unexpected.”
You nodded in agreement. “A goal is a goal, though.” She narrowed her eyes, huffing a laugh. “That kinda unexpected sloppiness can win a game.”
“She’s not wrong.” Jackie patted your shoulder. “Nice shot.”
“Well, why don’t we add it to the playbook?” Tai said. “Test it out in a real game.”
“Oh, don’t be bitter, Taissa.” Jackie laughed. “She just wanted you to pass the ball to her.” Tai laughed at that.
For the rest of the practice, you made sure to pass to Tai every so often, the two of you testing out new plays.
Despite that, Van was determined to block every one of your shots.
More so than anyone else.
It was to the point that after that one goal, you didn’t score another.
“Good game today,” Van said in the locker room, hand on your hip as she moved behind you to get to her locker. “You were making me nervous.”
“Me?” You laughed. “You were pissing me off—“ Van cut you off with a loud laugh. “I only got one goal!”
“It was hard to make that happen!” She laughed, and once it died down, she spoke up again. “Do you think you’d want to come to the field early sometime? Practice with me?”
You smiled, nodding. “Of course!” It was the perfect opportunity to get closer with her. Maybe, know more about her.
To become better friends, of course.
The first time was that weekend. You came the Sunday after practice, practicing earlier in the morning and getting lunch afterward.
It slowly became a habit; every once in a while, every other week, weekly

“Here.” Van jogged over to you as you stood in front of the ball. “You obviously have to turn your hips, but you really give yourself away
” She held out her hands, brows raised. You nodded and her hands went to your hips to readjust. “This is what you’re doing.” She turned you to the right. “So, I always know you’re going left, but
” She turned you to a slight angle, facing the right corner of the goal. You looked back at her and she couldn’t bring herself to get the rest of her sentence out. “I’m not sure how to explain it,” she said, taking a step back. “Why don’t you try goalie for a minute?”
“I’m a shit goalie, Van.” She laughed at that, but you went anyway.
“Just try and figure out which way I’m going,” she said.
That day, you spent the entirety of it ogether. It was past lunch by the time you went to the locker room to change, talking the whole way there about your newfound knowledge.
“Do you wanna get dinner?” You suddenly suggested, both of you in the midst of changing. “We could, like, go out or something?”
She paused, looking over at you as she got her shirt on. “Where do you wanna go?”
You shrugged. “Mark took me to this little diner a few blocks from my place last weekend,” you said and her mood seemed to dampen. “They have everything— it’s, well
Well, it’s not amazing, but it’s cute.”
“Um
” She took a moment, putting on her shoes and taking down her hair. “I’m kind of tired—“
“Oh—“
“Yeah—“
“That’s okay—! No, I mean, that makes sense. We’ve been here all day, so
” You nodded as you got your pants on and slipped on your shoes. “Maybe another time, then?”
“Totally.” She nodded, giving a smile despite the sudden awkwardness that came between you.
“Okay.” You nodded. “Then, I’ll see you tomorrow—“
“Wait, let me drive you home. It’s late—“
“No, no, no. It’s totally fine!” You gave her a smile as you grabbed your bag. “Mark was going to pick me up, anyway—“
“Oh, did you want to get dinner with him? Like, us three?” You shook your head. “But he’s picking you up,” she said, smirking with a furled brow.
“I would’ve just told him to go home, or hang out with Jeff and Randy, or something.” You shrugged. Her smile widened slightly, cheeks heating. “That’s kinda shitty, though, I guess.” She then laughed. “Next time we’ll, like, plan, or something.”
“Definitely.” She nodded. “And I’ll take you somewhere nicer than a hole-in-the-wall diner after practice, alright?”
Something about the way she said it made you smile, stomach fluttering. “Alright.”
She walked with you out of the dressing room and to your boyfriend's car. “See you tomorrow?” She said some ways away from the jeep he drove.
You nodded and leaned in for a hug, arms going around her shoulders. She was stunned for a moment, having not realized what you were actually leaning in for. She gave you a quick hug back before pulling away to go to her car.
The next day, she was talking to you in the halls, the next practice you were able to get more than one goal, and the next weekend your practice was spent laughing together in the field and dribbling the ball between one another rather than practicing.
“Oh shit!” Van laughed when it started to rain.
March had come quicker than you expected. You and Van had been hanging out for just over a month now, but it felt like you’d been friends all year.
Within minutes of you grabbing your bags, it was pouring rain and you were running to Van’s car.
“Jesus!” Van groaned as she slammed the door shut behind herself, you doing the same. You threw your bags in the backseat, wiping your faces.
She started the car, already starting her drive back to your house from memory.
“Just park in the garage,” you told her. “You can stay for a while.” You then added, “if you want.”
“Is that fine? Like, with your parents?”
“They’re out of town.” She nodded slowly, pulling into the garage. “I can, like, make us dinner or something,” you offered. “If you like pasta.”
“I love some good spaghetti.”
“Great!” You both laughed. “First, we need to shower, and get this shit in the wash.” You looked down at your damp shirt and shorts.
She turned off the car, and you headed inside. You grabbed both your bags and set them in the laundry room as you went inside, getting off your cleats and socks as well.
“Here.” You filled the silence and led her up the stairs. “My rooms there.” You pointed to the end of the hall. “I’ll use my parents shower
obviously.” Van chuckled at your awkward speech, nodding. “There’s towels and everything in there. You can just take my clothes.”
“You sure?”
You nodded. “Just send your stuff down the shoot.”
You took a quick shower before heading to your room in your towel and getting into pajamas.
You heard Van call your name some minutes later as you lay on your bed. “Close your eyes!” You laughed, covering your eyes. “Are they closed?”
“Yep.” She came in with just a towel. “I totally forgot to bring you clothes—“
“Fuck off.”
“Sorry!” You laughed. “Pajamas are in the bottom drawer.”
That night was spent making shitty pasta and laughing together as you ate in front of the TV you rolled out of your closet. You ended up sleeping in your room, falling asleep to an old movie with dishes on your night and arms around each other.
Since that day, Van had been so much more friendly.
It was almost insinuating.
She would touch you to get past you, tease you about a mistake on the field, sneak up and hug you from behind to scare you in the halls. And when she came over, she was touchy and clingy— not that you weren’t. You were often hugging her or lying your head on her shoulder. Hell, you even danced with her if either of you put on music.
On the field, however, she was awful. During scrimmage, she would go out of her way to make you fuck up. Even if you were on her team. She’d call something, or say something to you during a break that made you fumble the ball.
It was to the point that even her telling you good luck before a game had you flustered.
To the point where you fucked up.
“What the hell?!” Tai yelled at you as you shook your head at yourself. “Get it together—“
The ref blew a whistle for timeout after the other team's score. You groaned, walking over with a frown.
“What’s going on with you?” Ben asked.
“Are you sick?” Misty asked. “Injured?”
There was a small pep talk you had before you were sent back out. Unfortunately, your boyfriend was sitting with your parents as they watched you fuck up one of your last state games. It only made your nerves skyrocket.
“Get it together,” Nat told you, placing a hand on your shoulder as she walked past you.
Van was the last to leave, giving your shoulder a squeeze. “Guess we should’ve kept up our practices, huh?” She joked, earning a glare. “Sorry— Look, you’re good. Really good. You’re just being predictable.” You frowned at her. “Think back on that play you, Mari, and Akilah pulled earlier this year.”
When you got back on the field, you did as Van said. You let Shauna, Tai, and Nat get their goals in, but after that you asked Tai to pass to Akilah, who was heavily guarded.
“What?” She frowned at you. “You’re, like, out of your mind today.”
“Just try?”
As soon as the ball was stolen from Akilah, Mari got it to you, and you back to an unguarded Akilah. When she passed to you, you immediately kicked at the goal.
“YES!” You heard before you even knew what happened.
The buzzer sounded, signifying you’d won and leaving you shocked as your teammates huddled around you, chanting: “BUZZ. BUZZ, BUZZ, BUZZ!”
In the locker room, your excitement continued until you and Van were the last ones there.
“So, I was thinking,” Van spoke up. “What do you think about dinner this Sunday after our usual?”
“Oh, now you’re nice?” You joked.
Maybe it’d been left out that you were completely reciprocal in this teasing game. You would go up to her at her locker to scare her like she did you, and of course hug her and kiss her cheek afterward before you went to class, leaving her flustered and wanting to get back at you by the time practice rolled around. So, maybe, you brought it on yourself.
“Come on,” she laughed. “It’s not my fault I make you nervous.”
“You’re so annoying.” You shook your head. “I almost blew the match because of you.” Her brows shot up. “You were fucking with me before the game with your
” You gentured to her when she looked at you with false confusion. “You know what you were doing.”
She laughed. “Yeah—“
“See!”
“I was just teasing—“
“Well, stop it.”
“But you’re so cute when you’re flustered.” She pouted at you, earning a glare. “Even cuter when you’re mad at me.” She smiled. “Besides, we still won.”
“If we didn’t, they would’ve killed me.” She scoffed. “It’s not funny.”
“You’re actually upset?” She couldn’t help but laugh. “We still have, like, five games—“
“You can’t talk to me before them.” She practically guffawed. “You, like, fuck with with my fucking head. I don’t fucking know.”
“I fuck with your fucking head? What the fuck are you talking about?”
You groaned, turning to grab your bag. “Goodbye, Vanessa.”
“Hey.” She grabbed your hand, turning you around.
When she did, you were closer than she expected.
And that was when it started.
Her eyes fell to your lips before flitting back up to your eyes.
That was when you finally realized what that something about her was.
In the seconds it took you to process when was about to happen, her lips were on yours. Her hand still held yours and as soon as your free one went to her cheek, she tilted her head for a better angle.
You didn’t know how long you were there. You didn’t realize the time passing. You didn’t even know when it was that her hands found your waist and your other found her neck.
But you did realize that the door was opening.
You quickly pushed her back as someone stepped in, Van pretending to have been lacing up her shoes as she sat on the bench.
“Everything okay, babe?” Mark called from the doorway.
“Yeah, sorry. I was just helping Van with this turf burn.”
“Shit, is she okay?” He asked. “Should I get Misty?”
“I’m good!” Van called. “Just couldn’t wrap it myself.”
It took a few more exchanges to get him to leave, but eventually the door shut and you grabbed your things. You went to leave, but stopped yourself and turned around. You placed your hand on her shoulder as you leaned down to kiss her cheek. “Come over after practice tomorrow?”
She looked over at you, brow raised. “Does this mean you’re not mad at me anymore, or
?”
“I’ll think about it.”
When she came over, the two of you went straight to your room to “watch TV.” You locked the door behind you, rolled out your miniature TV and put in a tape, and sat down on the bed with Van.
“Hurry up,” she laughed as she grabbed your hand and pulled you down on top of her.
You never talked about it. You didn’t discuss what was going on. You didn’t even ask what it meant.
You just changed your practices to time together. You’d still practice, but you’d also just sit and talk. You’d make out in the locker room before going to get lunch or dinner. You’d hang out with the team and sneak off to have time alone. You’d even just get together. One of you would call and ask the other to lunch, or to go to the mall, or just to come over. There wasn’t a need for the practice excuse anymore, it was just nice to do that, too.
But you also had to decline at times.
“Mark wanted to take me to the movies,” you told her one night and you could practically feel her mood shift. “Maybe
Maybe I can get him to—“
“No, it’s okay,” she told you quickly. “Spend time with your boyfriend.” The word left a sour tension in the air.
“Van—“
“What time’ll you be home?”
“Hey,” you sighed when she spoke over you. “If you want me to, I’ll
I can tell him, but I don’t think—“
“You’re going to tell him you’re cheating on him with your best friend?” She asked, tone disbelieving. “No way.”
“Tell him I want to break up,” you clarified. She was quiet for a moment. “And
 We’re not cheating.”
“We’re hooking up,” she deadpanned.
“But
” You pursed your lips. “There’s no possibility of us
being an us, is there?” Your hopeful question, despite how poorly it came out, was met with another beat of quiet from her end, but she didn’t say anything that time. “I just mean
There isn't a way we could actually be together— at least, not in a real way—“
“In a real way?” She scoffed a laugh as she often did when you misused and fumbled over your words. “Have I been imagining all this, or—?”
“That’s not what I mean.” You pinched the bridge of your nose as you started to get frustrated; mostly with yourself and your horrible articulation. “Publicly. Like, I’d never cheat with Randy or Jeff.” She cursed your name, laughing in disbelief as she listened to you try to justify what you’d said instead of taking it back. “This
You and me, is it really going anywhere? Because, if it’s just ‘hooking up’, we could never really be anything, you know? And that sucks, but it’s also, I don’t know, it’s, like, better—?“
“So, let me get this right
You think it's better that you’re with me, because if you were cheating with a guy, it’d actually be real— or no, there’d be a possibility of an actual relationship.” You pursed your lips at the tone of her voice, knowing how awful it sounded. “Is that right?”
“Not exactly.” She hummed, waiting for you to explain. “It’s more like
I’m scared of what people might—“
“I don’t wanna be with someone that’s scared of what people think—“
“Just let me talk.” You sighed, feeling your eyes sting. You’d never been good at articulating your feelings, especially not in this kind of situation. “I’m scared of what people might do because of what they think. It’s just
It’s better if it doesn’t look like we’re anything more than friends—“
“Okay, I’m gonna get off the phone—“
“Van—“
“No— Look
I see where you’re coming from, just
I know that’s not the reason you said it in the first place.” You didn’t argue, nodding despite the fact that she couldn’t see it. “If you want to, I’ll come over when you get home—“
“Okay,” you said all too quickly. “I’ll be home in two hours.” There was a long pause. “If you want to come.”
“Alright.” Click.
She came by that night, but when you tried to talk to her and smooth things over, she was short.
“Look,” she said. “I like you. I’m comfortable saying that.” You immediately shut your mouth and listened to what she had to say. “If you’re not comfortable admitting you don’t like guys. Or that you’re using your ‘boyfriend’ as a fucking beard, because you want me, that’s fine. I don’t care. I probably already knew that.” You nodded along. “But I don’t want to talk about it with you, because hearing you say it? That fucking hurt.”
“I’m sorry.” Van shook her head, dismissing it. “I really am afraid of what someone might do
”
“It’s not like I’d let anyone do anything to you,” she said, eyes narrowed.
“That’s not what I mean.” She sighed, waiting for you to explain. “I’m really not saying anything right in this conversation, I just
My point was that I’d leave him for you, and I was trying to ask you if, maybe, this could be more than this, because I don’t think you want me as more than a friend, so when I say ‘in a real way’ I mean, as more than
” You trailed off, narrowing your eyes at the bedsheets when you began to repeat yourself. “And
 I wouldn’t cheat with a guy because—“
“Because you like girls?”
You looked up at her, lips pursed. “Why won't you answer my question?”
She tilted her head. “If we get together,” she started, “and I mean, actually get together. Not go to the mall and meet up at a store. Things are going to change. People will catch on, and they’ll treat you differently. I’m sure you know that, but I don’t think you’re ready for it. Especially not when you can’t even admit how you feel.” There was a long pause, her lips pursing. “Just stay where you’re safe,” she told you. “Stay with Mark. We can keep doing this— I like doing this— and you’re probably right. It’s probably better if people just think we’re friends, so
” She looked over at you, obviously still frustrated. “Why don’t we just move on?”
“Okay.”

Maybe This Time - Part 1
Pairing - Van Palmer x Band Kid!Reader
Warnings - drug use (weed), blink-182
Word Count - 7.6k
Summary - Van falls for a band kid. What will it take for them to realize that you’ve fallen for them too?
Author’s Note - Merry Christmas everyone!đŸŽ„đŸŽđŸŽ…â˜ƒïžâ„ïž (and happy holidays to everyone who celebrates other things!) I’m so glad I got this done in time, it ended up being a lot longer than I expected. Lots of fluff. No crash AU. They/them pronouns used for Van and reader, both are referred to as girls. And I can’t bear to write Tai and Van in the same story and not have them be together because they’re soulmates, so Taissa just doesn’t exist in this one. I also created a whole marching show for this and it was the most difficult scene I’ve ever written so please show this some love🙏

On the very first day of school, Van noticed you. You were in their English class and you were cute, far cuter than they remembered. But you were quiet and you sat in the row in front of them, so they never really got the chance to talk to you. Sure, they were loud and outgoing with their friends and their team, but they were much more reserved with people they didn’t know. Especially a girl that they liked.
It was easy enough to keep you off their mind for most of the semester. It wasn’t an all-consuming crush or anything, just a reason for them to love a class they’d never been very good at. That was until the few weeks after fall break when soccer practice overlapped with marching band rehearsal.
Coach Martinez always likened the distant sounds of the band to a stand-in for the crowd cheering and claimed it was good to practice ignoring outside distractions. It bothered some of the other girls, but Van always liked listening to them while the team had the ball on the other side of the field during scrimmages. Then one day as they were heading toward the locker rooms after practice, they heard a laugh from the direction of the band room. It was loud and melodic, and when they saw you smiling with your friends, their heart skipped a beat. Screw soccer; they already won nationals last year. Their new goal was to be the one who made you laugh like that.
“What are you looking at?” Natalie asked, coming up behind them. Van didn’t even realize they’d stopped walking.
“That girl’s in my English class,” they answered, pointing. “I didn’t know they were in the band.”
“Oh yeah, Y/N. They play the trombone, I think.”
“Wait, you know them?” Van asked, sounding a little too excited. Thankfully, Nat pretended not to notice.
“Yeah, they’re friends with Kevyn. I’ve smoked weed with them a few times. They’re cool but kinda nerdy. Kinda like you.” Nat gave them a knowing smirk, and Van turned away to hide their blush. “C’mon, let’s go. Jackie’ll have a conniption if we’re late for the post-practice meeting.”
Van nodded and followed her into the locker room, but they barely heard a word of Jackie’s speech. They couldn’t stop thinking about you. And as much as they hated having crushes, the butterflies in their stomach weren’t as painful as they’d been in the past. Maybe with you, things could actually go their way this time. You knowing Nat certainly seemed like a good sign. It was like Lottie said, Van decided. There’s no such thing as false hope.
Van Palmer sat one row behind and two seats to the left of you in English class. You’d been going to the same school for four years now, but this was the first class you’d had together. You couldn’t help but hope that you’d be able to get to know them better, but the way your heart pounded every time you walked into the room made it impossible to even say hi to them. You’d had a huge crush on them ever since last year when you and Kevyn went to see his friend Natalie play in the state championship game. That’s when the beautiful redheaded goalie caught your eye, and you’d been dreaming about them ever since.
Luckily, you didn’t have to talk to them on your own. After three months of less-than-stellar class discussions, your teacher decided to let you pair off into groups to talk about the latest reading assignment. You took a deep breath as your classmates shuffled around you, but before you could even get up from your chair, Van was standing beside you.
“Hey, Y/N, do you want to work together?” they asked, wringing their hands nervously.
“Yeah, sure,” you nodded. They returned your smile and slid into the chair next to you, its usual occupant now giggling with his friends in the back row. “So, what did you think of Frankenstein?”
“It was the scariest book about parenting I’ve ever read,” they quipped. You snorted, and their eyes shone as a proud grin spread across their face.
“That’s one way to describe it,” you smiled. “So who do you think was the villain, Frankenstein or his monster?”
“Oh, Victor was the villain, no question,” they declared. “To create life only to abandon it when you know its existence is cursed? C’mon, he’s literally the definition of a mad scientist.”
“Yeah, but the monster did some pretty fucked up things too. I mean, he killed a kid.”
“And that was horrible, obviously. But I think the real question is whether his circumstances made him evil or if the darkness was inside him all along. And then if it was inside him the whole time, then isn’t it really Victor’s fault for creating him in the first place?”
“That’s a really good way of looking at it,” you said, and they glanced down at the floor. “I hadn’t thought of it like that.”
Van shrugged. “I really liked this book. I don’t know, something about it just clicked with me.”
“Well, then you can speak for both of us when Ms. Fite comes over because I’ve got nothing,” you chuckled.
They smirked. “Yeah, alright. I think I can do that.”
Despite the rest of the conversation flowing naturally with you trading jokes as you discussed the book, you didn’t talk to Van much after that. But they did smile and wave at you every day when you walked into class, so you considered that a win. And you noticed that they were speaking up more in class discussions, which you knew had to be a coincidence. But they were really smart, and it brought a smile to your face every time you heard them speak. You were starting to feel like Frankenstein’s monster, with your perfect girl just out of reach, unable to make them yours.
“Hey, does anyone want to go to the movies with me Friday night?” Natalie asked as the team got changed after practice a week later. “I’ve been wanting to see Bound.”
“Ooh, I’ve been wanting to see that too!” Lottie exclaimed, getting up to stand at Nat’s side.
“Jackie? Shauna? What about you? I heard you talking about it a few practices ago.”
“I wish we could, but Shauna and I are gonna go see Jeff play in the football game,” Jackie smiled, winking at Shauna.
“But the football team sucks,” Mari said with a look of disgust.
“Yeah, but it’s kinda fun to watch them play like shit,” Shauna smirked.
“It’s very fun to watch them play like shit. And us national champs get in free!” Jackie grinned.
“Can I come to the movies?” Misty asked eagerly, bouncing over from the equipment closet. Lottie scoffed, but Nat turned around slowly and looked her up and down.
“Sure,” she said, and it was clear Misty was trying hard to contain her excitement. She was practically vibrating. “Meet us by the field after school.”
“Okay! I can’t wait!” Misty beamed, skipping away. Lottie raised an eyebrow at Nat.
“Oh, fuck off,” she defended, smirking. “She’s awkward, but she’s harmless.”
“Yeah, be nice to her. She’s a great manager,” Laura Lee chimed in, and Jackie gave her an approving nod.
Lottie, Shauna, and Mari rolled their eyes, and Van chuckled. They were too preoccupied with thoughts of you to join in on the teasing like they usually did, but they’d been listening to every word.
“What about you, Palmer?” Nat asked, walking up to them as she grabbed her bag. “You wanna come see Bound with us? It seems like your kinda movie.”
“It is. That’s why I saw it opening weekend,” Van replied. Nat nodded.
“Alright, suit yourself,” she said, slamming her locker door shut. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“See ya,” Van smiled as Nat followed Lottie out of the locker room. Then when the conversation died down, they walked over to where Jackie and Shauna were giggling together, their hands stuffed into their back pockets. “Hey, can I come with you guys to the game on Friday?”
“The football game?” Jackie asked in disbelief. “Since when does Van Palmer have any interest in football?”
“I don’t. I just wanna get out of the house,” they shrugged, glancing at the floor. It was believable enough. None of their teammates knew any of the details, but they knew their mom was a bitch. “I mean, if we get in free, then it seems like a pretty good way to pass the time.”
“Sure,” Shauna smiled. “I can give you a ride, too.”
“Thanks.”
“Great!” Jackie exclaimed, reaching out and squeezing Van’s hand. “This is going to be so fun!”
Van nodded in agreement and turned back to their locker. It would be fun, but not for the reason Jackie thought. They just had to make sure they didn’t find out that they only wanted to watch you march.
By the time Friday rolled around, Van still hadn’t worked up the courage to talk to you again. You did smile and wave back at them every time you walked into class though, so they considered that a win. But Van could never be satisfied with small victories. They were a national soccer champion, after all. They hoped that stepping into your world would give them something to talk to you about. Then maybe they’d be closer to winning the prize they were really after.
Van didn’t have to wait long before Shauna pulled up, with Jackie calling out to them excitedly from the passenger side. They greeted them with a smile as they climbed into the backseat, and Jackie turned to look at them as Shauna sped away.
“So, are you excited for the game?”
“Excited to see our team get their asses handed to them, more like,” Shauna said. Van laughed.
“Well, now I am.”
“Oh, you’re gonna love it. They’re awful,” Jackie sneered. Before Van could respond, Shauna reached out and switched the tape to Nevermind. Jackie whipped around to glare at her playfully. “Hey!”
“Sorry, were you listening to that?”
“Yeah, I was, actually.”
“Well, too bad. Van likes Nirvana, and so do I. You’re outvoted.”
Jackie scoffed, pretending to be offended, and Shauna grinned. “You didn’t even ask Van. Maybe they should get to choose the music.”
“No, I like listening to you two bicker like an old married couple,” Van deadpanned, which sent all three girls into a fit of laughter.
“See, this is why we really go to the football games,” Shauna said, glancing at Van in the rearview mirror. Jackie nodded.
“Oh, for sure. It’s never about the boys.”
Van chuckled and turned to stare out the window. If only they knew, they thought to themself with a smile. If only they knew.
They arrived at the game just as the band was marching around the track. And although it took more effort than they would like to admit, Van managed not to look for you as they followed Jackie and Shauna into the bleachers. They would have plenty of time to admire you when you performed at halftime. That was when the band played, wasn’t it?
“Why are those seats empty?” Van asked, pointing to the section next to them. They were in the student section, which was far less populated than it was for their games, right next to the stairs and a few rows from the top.
“That’s where the band sits,” Jackie explained. Van’s eyes widened. They sat down and started bouncing their leg, trying not to picture you sitting just a few feet away from them. Luckily, they were distracted when the band began to take the field. Oh, right, there was a pregame.
“So why did you really want to come to the game?” Jackie asked, leaning forward to peer at Van.
“What?”
“Oh, come on. We all know you’ve never wanted to see a football game before. There’s gotta be a reason,” Jackie smirked, and Van stared at the ground. “Do you like one of the guys on the football team?”
Van made a face.
“Leave them alone, Jackie,” Shauna said. She was sitting between them, and Van was suddenly very grateful for the small buffer she provided.
“I’m just asking! You don’t have to tell us who it is, Van. But I can tell there’s someone you were hoping to see.”
“I don’t like any of the football players,” Van said, repulsion evident on their face. But before any of them could say anything else, the band began to play the fight song. Van turned to watch, smiling unconsciously when they spotted you in the front row.
“Oh my god, wait! Do you like one of the guys in the band?” Jackie exclaimed. Van felt their face heating up. “No way, you totally do! What instrument does he play?”
“I don’t like any guys,” Van defended weakly.
“Oh, come on! Your face is as red as your hair, I know you’re lying. Just tell us about him! We can keep a secret!”
“Jackie, just drop it,” Shauna growled. “They don’t have to tell you anything.”
“Jeez, we’re just talking about boys,” Jackie said. Van shifted uncomfortably, and Shauna gave them an apologetic glance. “Y’know, if you tell me who it is, I might be able to give you some advice on how to woo him. I mean, this is so exciting! You’ve never liked a guy before!”
Van scoffed.
“I don’t think they want to talk about boys,” Shauna said pointedly, but Van missed her inflection and Jackie’s response. The band had begun filing into the stands and they sat up to watch, their eyes never leaving you. Their heart beat faster the closer you got until you finally found your seat, right next to the stairs and one row in front of Van. You started when you locked eyes, a shy grin spreading across your face, and Van beamed and waved at you. You waved back before turning to hear what your director was saying, and Van let out a shaky sigh.
“Holy shit! You like that girl, don’t you?” Jackie practically yelled in surprise.
“Shut up!” Van hissed, whipping around to glare at her. “What the fuck, Jackie?”
“I’m sorry,” she said sheepishly, much quieter this time. “I just didn’t know you were a lesbian.”
Van put their head in their hands and groaned.
“We won’t tell anyone,” Shauna said softly, patting Van’s back. “Right, Jackie?”
“Of course not! And we totally support you. I-I was just surprised- which now that I think about it, I probably shouldn’t be. It actually makes a lot of sense.”
“Seriously?”
“No, it’s fine,” Van sighed, giving Shauna a grateful glance. “I don’t really care about people knowing. I mean, don’t tell anyone, please, but it’s fine if you guys know. I just
don’t want Y/N to know that I like them.”
“Why not?” Jackie asked, her voice genuine. “If you like them, then you should ask them out.”
“I can’t just ask them out, I barely know them.”
“You did come to a football game just to see them play in the band,” Shauna remarked. “And they smiled at you. That seems pretty friendly to me.”
“They’re cute,” Jackie grinned. “Do you wanna tell us about them?”
“Well, they’re in my English class, and we did an assignment together last week. They’re really funny, and sweet, and
beautiful- god, I don’t know! This is stupid!”
“It’s not stupid,” Jackie chuckled.
“You’ve never talked about a crush before, have you?” Shauna asked warmly. Van shook their head.
“Before today, the only person who knew I was a lesbian was Nat, and that’s not really her thing,” they sighed. “And it’s not like I’ve ever done anything about a crush before anyway. It’s different for me! Before I can even ask if they might like me, I have to figure out if they like girls! And spoiler alert, most of the time, they don’t.”
“But you don’t know that. You just need to talk to them and ask. I mean, what’s the worst that could happen?”
“No offense, Jackie, but I don’t think you know the first thing about homophobia.”
“You’re right, I don’t,” Jackie admitted. “But I do know about flirting. And Y/N has been staring at you for, like, five minutes.”
Van’s eyes widened as they fought the urge to turn around. “What? Really?”
“Totally. They’re trying to be subtle, but they’re not very good at it.”
Van grinned in spite of themself. “What do I do?”
“Smile back at them!” Jackie encouraged. “You’ve gotta let them know you’re interested.”
“Okay,” Van nodded, trying to swallow their nerves. They turned around slowly to find that you were indeed staring at them. They gave a little wave when they met your eyes, and you nearly missed when your director called your instruments up. “Oh, shit! I distracted them!” Van groaned. “I shouldn’t have done that.”
“It’s fine! They’re still playing, aren’t they?” Jackie said, louder now over the sound of Eye of the Tiger. If they weren’t so embarrassed, Van would’ve marveled at how great you sounded.
“And their ears turned red,” Shauna whispered, leaning over and pointing. “You should at least talk to them as a friend. Y’know, get to know them. That’s probably the best way to find out if they like girls.”
“Okay, maybe you’re right,” Van conceded.
Jackie clapped her hands excitedly. “Yay! And you have to tell us how it goes, okay? I want to know all the details about you and your soon-to-be-girlfriend!”
“Fine,” Van smiled, rolling their eyes. “But neither one of you is allowed to talk during halftime. That’s when they perform.”
“Yeah, okay,” Shauna smirked while Jackie buried her head in her shoulder to hide her laughter. “We’ll be quiet.”
Van knew for a fact that Shauna and Jackie had never been quiet in their lives, but they just shook their head and kept their mouth shut. Luckily, the conversation shifted to other topics, and Van started to feel relaxed. And when the buzzer finally rang at the end of the first half, all their nerves had been replaced by eager anticipation.
Well, most of their nerves.
“And now, please welcome to the field your 1996 Wiskayok High School Marching Yellowjackets!” the announcer boomed. Someone slapped Van’s shoulder. They didn’t see if it was Jackie or Shauna, but they didn’t really care. All of their attention was focused on you. “This year’s performance is a tribute to the greatest spy in movie history. Please enjoy Bond, James Bond.”
“No way,” Van breathed as the first note rang out through the stadium. You were playing the 007 theme. It sounded exactly like it did in the movies! And Van should know, they’d seen all seventeen of them.
But just when they thought they couldn’t be more impressed, they noticed what formation the band was marching into. They had started out in lines like they were for the parade, but as they went along, parts of the band would break off and play in place, the squares forming five dots across the field. Just like the beginning of the gun barrel sequence.
“Holy shit,” Van whispered, scooting up to the edge of their seat. And if Jackie and Shauna were laughing at them, they didn’t notice. They watched with rapt attention as the band played, the sound filling the entire stadium. Then everyone began marching again, all moving in different directions at different gaits. How anyone could remember where to go was completely beyond Van as they gazed in wonder at the picture you were creating. The dot in the middle of the field had morphed into a circle, and everyone else formed eight curved lines spiraling away from it. Now they were the gun barrel! And when you all moved in sync across the field to move the gun barrel to the left, Van considered their mind officially blown. Then the drums made a sound like a gunshot, and they all began to trickle down to the front of the field, starting from the top. Just like the blood, they folded together until they were in one big row on the sideline. And when you played the final note, Van leapt to their feet and cheered.
“Oh my god, you’re so whipped,” Jackie laughed.
“Shut up,” Van said, still smiling. “I mean, come on! Tell me that wasn’t the coolest thing you’ve ever seen!”
“It was cool,” Shauna agreed. “But Jackie’s right. You’re totally whipped.”
“Alright, well, fuck both of you,” Van retorted, sitting back down as the announcer’s voice filled the stadium once more.
“The Wiskayok Marching Yellowjackets will now perform their second movement, “Nobody Does It Better” from the 1977 film The Spy Who Loved Me, featuring trombone soloist Y/N L/N!”
“Oh, shit, that’s them!” Van cried. The band all ran to stand in an arc, but you stayed on the sideline, front and center. Van fought the urge to leap to their feet again.
“Looks like your girl’s a rock star,” Jackie smirked.
“Hell yeah they are,” Van grinned. “I have great taste.”
The band started playing, and Van could hear Carly Simon’s voice in their head. It was incredible how the music could be played on a completely different set of instruments and still sound the same. And when you began to play your solo, the notes ringing out clear and beautiful through the microphone, Van couldn’t help but quietly sing along.
“But like heaven above me
The spy who loved me
Is keeping all my secrets safe tonight”
“In 1973, “Live and Let Die” earned the Bond series its first music-related Oscar nomination for best original song, performed by Paul McCartney and Wings,” the announcer explained when the second song ended. “And now, the Marching Yellowjackets will close out their performance with their version of this chart-topping hit, arranged by our very own Director Frank Jones!”
“Wait, “arranged”? What does that mean?” Jackie asked. Van wouldn’t have been able to answer; they were clueless about music too. But they didn’t hear her, because once again, they were too busy watching you. You had run back to stand with the other trombone players in the arc, and they could tell you were smiling even from the stands.
Once again your performance sounded exactly like it did in the movie. Even Jackie and Shauna were singing along this time. And before Van even realized “Live and Let Die” had ended, the band was playing the 007 theme and moving again. And when you played the final note, you formed the 007 logo in the center of the field. They leapt to their feet again, cheering even louder than before, and they only sat down when the band started making their way back to the stands.
“Woo! Way to go, band!” Jackie shouted once you were in earshot. “You guys were great!”
“What are you doing?” Van hissed.
“I’m just showing my appreciation for our music department,” Jackie shrugged coyly while Shauna snickered. “Do something, they’re looking at you!”
Van blushed and turned to find you smiling at them. They grinned back and flashed you a thumbs-up, which you returned with a chuckle.
“Aren’t you glad I’m here to be your wingwoman?” Jackie smirked.
“Yes,” Van sighed reluctantly, rolling their eyes. “But I will set you on fire if you do anything like that again. That was mortifying.”
“Oh, bite me,” she said sarcastically, a smug grin on her face. “Without me, I bet you wouldn’t even be able to say hi to them.”
“Well, maybe I like pining from the shadows.”
“Again, you came to the football game just to watch them march. That’s not very ‘from the shadows’ of you.”
“Shut up, Shauna,” Van laughed, nudging her.
The football team lost sixty-five to three, apparently their worst game all season. But Van couldn’t care less. They were on cloud nine for the whole second half, the world seeming to stop every time you turned around and grinned at them. They were barely able to pay attention to Jackie and Shauna’s playful bickering as they left the stadium.
“Van, look, there they are!” Jackie exclaimed, pointing subtly to where you were walking through the parking lot with your friends.
“You should go talk to them,” Shauna encouraged with a warm smile.
“No, I
I can’t do that,” Van stuttered, all their nerves returning at once. “They’re busy, I don’t want to bother them.”
“C’mon, they’re not doing anything!” Jackie said exasperatedly. “Just say hi, it’s not that hard! Go on, go!” She pushed Van toward you, but they just stood there, trying and failing to not stare at you.
“I just don’t wanna mess this up,” Van murmured.
“You’re not gonna mess it up,” Shauna said gently. “Just talk to them as a friend, remember? You got this.”
Van stepped forward hesitantly, biting their lip. Then a gust of wind knocked a feather out of your plume and blew it into Van’s left cheek. “Yeah, I can’t do this,” they gasped, turning back quickly.
“Yes, you can! There’s nothing to be afraid of,” Shauna said, but Van just hugged their chest tightly and shook their head.
“Look, either do it or don’t, but can you make a decision, please? It’s freezing out here,” Jackie complained. Shauna gave her a side-eye.
“It’s okay, Van. You’ll get another chance on Monday, right?”
“Yeah. Yeah, I guess,” they sighed. You were moving farther and farther away, but their anxiety kept them rooted to the spot. So much for their usual cocksure attitude; they couldn’t even say hi to a girl they liked.
They climbed into Shauna’s car and pressed their forehead against the window, watching you walk up to the band door and feeling sorry for themself. Then you made eye contact with them, your beautiful smile shining on your face. Van waved, but you disappeared into the band room like they weren’t there at all. I knew it. They never like girls, Van thought bitterly, putting their head in their hands. Or maybe they just don’t like me.
“They just waved at me again!” you exclaimed once the door had shut behind you.
“Oh my god, when?” Your two best friends ran up to you, grinning eagerly.
“Just now! They were leaving in their friend’s car, I just saw them!”
“Did you wave back?”
“No, I
 I freaked out. I froze.”
“Oh, come on!” Lauren cried.
“You’ve been flirting with them the whole game, how could you drop the ball now?” Liv slapped you in the arm playfully.
“I didn’t mean to!” you groaned. “Trust me, no one’s more disappointed in me than I am.”
“I don’t know, I’m pretty invested in your love life,” Liv quipped.
“Do you really think Van likes me?”
“Of course they like you!” Lauren smiled. “You saw how they were looking at you, right?”
“Yeah
”
“Then you’ve gotta talk to them!” Liv insisted. “On Monday, in class. It’s the perfect time to make your move!”
“My move? What’s my move? I don’t have moves!”
“Just talk to them,” Lauren said. “The moves will come to you in the moment. All you gotta do is be yourself.”
“Yeah, Van would have to be a real idiot if they didn’t want you,” Liv chimed in. You smiled.
“Thanks, guys. I’ll try to talk to them on Monday.”
“Don’t try, just do it!” Liv smirked.
“We believe in you!” Lauren grinned. You rolled your eyes. It was a lot easier for them to say. They weren’t the ones who risked getting rejected by the most beautiful girl in school.
Despite your friends’ encouragement, neither one of you made an effort to talk to each other on Monday. Van still smiled and waved at you, and you returned the gesture like always, but that was as far as you had the guts to take it. Van tried not to let it sour their mood at practice that afternoon.
“Hey, how was Bound?” they asked when Nat and Lottie walked in.
“It was great,” Lottie answered. “It was what happened afterward that was a nightmare.”
“What do you mean?”
“Misty! She went fucking berserk on this old lady, it was crazy!”
“Some housewife was saying some homophobic shit after the movie,” Nat explained.
“And now, Misty’s banned from the theater,” Lottie huffed before walking away. Van raised an eyebrow at Nat.
“She was possessed!” she grinned with an adoring look in her eyes. “I was wrong, man. She’s definitely not harmless.”
Van scoffed. “Maybe I should’ve gone with you after all.”
“Naw, I bet you had fun at the football game,” Nat smirked, nudging them. Van looked away as she leaned in. “Did you enjoy the band’s performance?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh, yeah? Then I’m sure you have no idea why Jackie and Shauna keep glancing over here either, do you?”
Van groaned.
“Did you tell them or did they find out?” Nat asked softly.
“They found out.”
“And are you good?”
Van smiled at her. “Yeah. Yeah, I’m good.”
“Good,” Nat nodded. Then she winked. “You should totally ask Y/N out, by the way.”
“Fuck you,” Van chuckled.
“It’s not me you should be fucking,” Nat teased. Van gaped at her as she scurried away, laughing. Van just shook their head and got changed for practice, avoiding Jackie and Shauna’s piercing gaze. If anything could get you off their mind, it was soccer.
It worked for a while. It was their best practice so far this season; they didn’t let a single ball get past them. But the respite was short-lived. Their thoughts of you returned the moment Coach Martinez blew the whistle at the end of practice, and so did their sour mood. And it only grew as the week went on and the idea of talking to you became more and more impossible. Luckily, Nat noticed Van’s pain and offered them the perfect solution.
“Hey,” Van greeted as they approached the spot behind the dumpsters where Nat had instructed them to meet. “Thanks again for hooking me up.”
“No problem,” Nat smiled. “Happy to help.”
Van nodded, ignoring Nat’s uncharacteristic cheeriness, and handed over the small wad of cash. Nat pocketed the money, and after glancing around to make sure no one was looking, handed Van a small bag of weed.
“I think you’re really gonna like this stuff,” she said with a wink.
“Thanks,” Van smiled, eyeing the weed hungrily. Then they heard footsteps behind them and they snapped their head up to stare fearfully at Nat.
“Don’t worry, it’s cool,” Nat said. And before Van could react, someone else had walked into their little hiding spot.
“Sorry I’m late,” a familiar voice said. “My trig teacher was being a bitch again and held us after the bell.”
“No problem,” Nat grinned. “I was just finishing up another sale. Have you, uh, met my teammate?”
“No, I don’t think I- Van.”
Van had finally turned around, and they were now face to face with their worst nightmare. Or their dream come true, depending on what happens next. “Hey, Y/N.”
“So you have met,” Nat said, breaking the silence after a few moments. “I figured, I’ve got two people buying from the same batch, why not do it at the same time?” She gave Van a knowing grin, and Van fought the urge to throttle her.
“Uh, yeah, that’s uh
smart,” you said. Then you handed her the money and she gave you a bag just like Van’s. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” Nat replied. “Now, I’ve gotta run, but it would be better if you two could wait a minute before you leave. Y’know, make this look less like a drug deal.”
“Yeah, sure. We can do that,” you nodded, avoiding Van’s eyes. “Thanks again.”
“See ya around, Y/N. Van, you’ll have to tell me how you like it at practice next week.”
Van watched her go, and then they were left alone with you. The only sound was the pounding of their heart, and they prayed you couldn’t hear it.
“So, uh
how have you been?” you asked nervously.
“Good. You?”
“Good.”
“I saw you at the football game last week. Your show was really great.”
“Thanks,” you smiled. “I’m glad you got to see it.”
“It was so cool how you did the gun barrel sequence. And your solo sounded amazing!” Van gushed. “It was just like the movies! If I’d known that marching band was so cool, I would’ve gone to a football game a lot sooner.”
You blushed, and Van’s anxiety skyrocketed. They hadn’t meant to say that. Now they’d really messed up.
“I’m glad you liked it,” you breathed.
“I, uh, I have to go,” Van announced, clearing their throat loudly. “I have to catch the bus.”
“But the school buses have already left.”
“No, the city bus,” Van explained. “The nearest stop is a mile away, so I need to start walking.” They turned and left the spot behind the dumpsters, but you stopped them before they could get any farther.
“I could give you a ride,” you called. Van turned back around slowly. “If you want.”
“Are you sure?”
“Totally. I mean, I’ve got a car and nowhere to be. It’s not a limo or anything, but it’s better than the city bus.”
Now Van was the one who was blushing. “Yeah, that sounds great,” they grinned shyly.
“Perfect,” you beamed, pulling your key out of your pocket. “Right this way, m’lady.”
Van giggled and followed your lead. Maybe they really did have a chance this time.
“You can throw your backpack in the backseat,” you said as you climbed into the car. “And you can pick some music, my tapes are in the glovebox.”
Van nodded, placing their backpack at their feet and opening the glovebox. They were expecting to find two or three tapes, maybe four, but you had nearly a dozen stacked in there. “Woah!” they exclaimed, glancing between you and the tapes. “How do you have so many tapes? Are you, like, rich or something?”
“No, I’m not rich,” you chuckled. “My aunt owns the record store downtown. I get a discount on all the music I want, and they gave me a bunch of their old tapes from the seventies. David Bowie, Queen, the Ramones, stuff like that.”
“No way, I love Queen and Bowie!” Van cried.
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah! I went as the Aladdin Sane album cover for Halloween a few years ago!”
“You did? That’s awesome!”
“Well, I already have the red hair,” Van joked. You laughed. “I love that record store, it’s so cool that your aunt owns it.”
“We’ll have to go there together sometime. I bet I can get you a discount too.”
“Yeah, that would be fun,” Van said softly, turning back to look through the tapes. They slid David Bowie’s Let’s Dance into the tape deck as you pulled out of the parking lot. You began tapping out the rhythm of “Modern Love” on your steering wheel, and Van joined you on air guitar. When the chorus came on you belted it out, both of you singing off-key. Everything felt so natural that Van almost forgot about being anxious.
“Do you usually buy from Nat?” you asked them.
“Yeah. I don’t smoke a lot of weed, but when I do I get it from her. I think everyone on the team does, it’s just easier. What about you?”
“I usually buy from Kevyn, actually. But he sent me to Nat this time. I guess he doesn’t have anything to sell right now or something.”
“Huh. Yeah, something like that,” Van muttered.
“Do you ever smoke with your teammates?”
“Sometimes I’ll smoke with Nat and Lottie, but most of the time I smoke alone. I usually have to smoke it right after I buy it since I can’t keep it at my house.”
“Can’t let your parents find it, huh? My folks are the same way. Couple’a hardasses,” you smirked.
“No, my mom will steal it and smoke it herself,” Van said humorlessly.
“Oh.” You sat in silence for a moment, not quite comfortable but not as awkward as before. “Do you have to be home by a certain time?”
“No,” Van shook their head. “Why?”
“Well, if you don’t want to go home yet, I was thinking we could head to the park a few blocks over. Maybe this time we don’t have to smoke alone.”
“Yeah, I’d really like that,” Van beamed. You returned their eager expression and changed course, turning the music up. Van couldn’t believe their luck.
“Why don’t you guys play at our soccer games?” Van asked while you were rolling your joints.
“We can’t march on the soccer field. We need the yard lines to figure out where we’re going,” you explained. “But we play at basketball games, and we don’t march at those. Y’know, I’m actually not sure.”
“I wish you did play at our games,” Van mused. “That would be so cool.”
“Yeah, it would be fun. I guess I’ll just have to go to them on my own. I can get some of the other trombones to come too. We’ll sing for you.”
Van chuckled. “I bet we’d be undefeated again this year if you did that.”
“Naw, you don’t need our help with that. I saw you playing at states last year. I don’t know anything about soccer, and even I could tell that you guys are amazing.”
“You saw us play at states?”
“Uh, yeah,” you said quietly after a beat, nearly dropping your joint as you tried to light it. “Oh, hey, the album ended.”
“Yeah, it did.”
“Here, let me play you something,” you said, reaching past them for the glovebox. “My cousin visited us from California last summer, and he introduced me to this awesome new band down there. They’re called blink-182.” You pulled out a tape that said Cheshire Cat and put it in and a punk rock guitar riff filled the car. “I think you’ll like them. They don’t take anything seriously.”
“Rude,” Van scoffed, taking a hit and blowing the smoke out the window. “I’m taking that as a compliment.”
You continued talking and laughing together as you got high, the weed and conversation relaxing you both. And by the time you got to the end of your joints, you were discussing one of your many shared interests; Star Trek.
“Riker’s actually the reason I started playing trombone,” you said proudly. “The best instrument for the best character.”
“You think Riker’s the best character?” Van repeated, trying to hide their disappointment. “Most girls have a crush on Picard.”
“What? No, I don’t have a crush on Riker,” you insisted, shaking your head. “He’s my favorite character for sure, but I don’t have a crush on him.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah, he’s definitely not the character I have a crush on,” you breathed.
“Then who do you have a crush on?” Van asked quietly, unconsciously leaning in. You mirrored them.
“Doctor Crusher,” you answered. “I love how caring she is. And she has such a cute smile
 beautiful red hair
”
“You
 you like girls?”
You froze. “Um, yeah, I, uh
I do.” You shifted uncomfortably. “You don’t have, like, a problem with that or anything-”
“No, I don’t,” Van said quickly. “I like girls too.”
“You do?” you whispered, leaning in again.
“Yeah, I do.”
And then Van closed the gap. Your lips were chapped, and the smell of weed was almost suffocating, but they never wanted this moment to end. They chased after you clumsily and you cupped their left cheek, deepening the kiss. Then, just when they started thinking the kiss could lead to something more, they caught one of the lyrics in the song.
“I’m so sorry, what is this song about?” Van asked incredulously. You cringed.
“It’s, uh
it’s about a woman who accidentally sleeps with her estranged father.”
“Yeah, okay, that’s what I thought,” they said before bursting into a fit of laughter. You let out a nervous chuckle.
“It’s one of their joke songs,” you explained as you turned off the music. “If I’d known we were going to be doing this I would’ve picked a different album.”
“No, no, it’s hilarious. Now I’m never going to forget our first kiss.”
“First?” You raised an eyebrow. Van just shrugged and smiled at you, their face flushing a beautiful shade of pink. “Wow,” you breathed, and Van saw the desire they’d been feeling reflected in your eyes.
“Yeah, would you, uh
wanna go out with me sometime?” they asked after a moment of comfortable silence.
“Shouldn’t I be the one asking you that? Y’know, since I’m the one with the car?” you smirked. They grinned sheepishly. “Yeah, I’d love to.”
“Perfect,” Van said before pouncing on you again. You gripped their hips as they leaned over the gear shift, quickly regaining control and kissing them passionately. Van melted at your touch. “Hey, we’re pretty good at this,” they quipped, maneuvering to sit in your lap.
“Hell yeah we are,” you grinned.
By the time you took Van home, it was already getting dark. And over the next few days, the piece of paper with Van’s messily scrawled phone number got more use than your trombone. You agreed that the best kind of first date was dinner and a movie, and you decided to go and see Wes Craven’s new horror movie Scream. Its opening night lined up with your last day of school before winter break, and you both had a major crush on Drew Barrymore, so it was the perfect fit.
When the day came, you were both nervous wrecks in English class. And not because of your final; although you both probably should’ve studied harder for it. But this was it. Before you’d just been talking, and kissing when you got the chance. But a real date. That made it official. You would be girlfriends.
After deliberating for longer than you would like to admit, you pulled on your favorite button-up shirt and your trusty leather jacket. Then you checked your appearance in the mirror one last time and headed to Van’s house, your heart racing the whole way. You arrived a few minutes early and waited anxiously out front. Van had asked you not to go to the door, but you were starting to feel like you were in the wrong place.
“Hey, Y/N!” Van called excitedly, opening the passenger door and pulling you from your thoughts.
“Hey, Van,” you smiled. They were wearing a denim jacket over one of their rugby shirts. It wasn’t terribly different from what they normally wore, but it was Van. You’d never seen anything more beautiful. “You ready to go?”
Van nodded eagerly. “I’ve been looking forward to this all week.”
You leaned over and placed a quick kiss on their lips. “Me too.”
“Then let’s go already,” they laughed. You drove away and they slid Queen’s Greatest Hits album into the tape deck. You both sang along at the top of your lungs until you reached the cheap Italian place by the theater.
As much as you wanted to hold hands as you walked in, you knew you had to pretend like this wasn’t a date. Neither one of you wanted it to get out that you were lesbians. Too much trouble could come from that. But thankfully the server sat you at the corner table, so you were able to enjoy some modicum of privacy. Still, being together in public was a lot more nerve-wracking than stealing kisses in the janitor’s closet between classes.
“What are you going to get?” you asked as you looked over the menu.
“Spaghetti and meatballs. Easily the best type of pasta,” Van smirked.
“My thoughts exactly.”
“Maybe we should share. That way we can do the thing from Lady and the Tramp.”
You laughed, loud and melodic, and Van beamed. “And which one am I?”
“The tramp, obviously. Have you ever seen a more sophisticated lady than myself?” Van said with an exaggerated posh accent. You laughed again.
“If you want me to be a tramp for you, just say so,” you whispered. Van giggled.
“Only if you’re the one paying.”
“I was already planning to,” you smiled.
“You’re too good to me,” they grinned, blushing. You winked.
It was the best meal you’d had in months, and Van would’ve said the same. And the food was good, sure. But it was the company that put this meal above the rest. Being with Van made you happier than you could’ve imagined, and it was only the first date! You were already looking forward to all the memories you knew you would make together. And they would never tell you, but Van was doing the same.
Wes Craven’s Scream was the perfect end to the night. The perfect mix of horror, comedy, mystery, and more movie references than Van makes in a day. Neither one of you was scared of Ghostface, of course, but you held hands anyway. On the way home you forwent the music in favor of discussing the queer undertones of Billy and Stu’s relationship and arguing over who was hotter; Sidney or Gale. And when you dropped Van off you sealed the night with a kiss, a soft, lingering kiss that promised many more to come.
“I’m really glad we did this,” you sighed dreamily as they left the car.
“Yeah, I can’t wait for our next date. Girlfriend.”
You grinned and waved goodbye, already missing them. You were thinking about calling them before they even reached the house. Maybe things are finally starting to look up, you thought as you drove away. Maybe this time we’ll get to be happy.

byan once full-on tackled a kid during a soccer game in gym and started just pummeling him in front of their whole class because he intentionally punted the ball at their head.
the kid in question had been tormenting them for months since they transferred to the school and, after an already shit day, they'd been at their wit's end. the ball hitting the side of their head was just the thing that sent them over the edge.
later that same day, they slammed his head into a locker because they got in trouble and he didn't, having claimed that hitting them had been an accident. they earned a week's suspension on top of their week's detention for this.
in the past, this boy had been one of the reasons byan would skip out on school, their anxiety and fear of what would be in store for them each day making them physically ill. he would hurl awful insults at them, pull incredibly meanspirited pranks on them with intent of causing embarrassment and sometimes harm, and sometimes took it as far as physical assault. somehow, he almost always managed to avoid getting in trouble for any of this.
the soccer incident was the final straw for byan. after that, they stopped trying to talk to any teachers or adults in general about what was going on and they took it into their own hands. violently. however, they never instigated, only ever retaliated — naturally, the kid was often able to make it seem like it was the other way around. byan's reputation only continued to get worse, and somehow, no matter how badly they managed to hurt him in return, he always came back with a vengeance instead of backing down and leaving them alone.
one time, they bit his hand so hard that he needed to get stitches. they earned themself a broken nose and a concussion for it, but to this day they hope he looks at that scar and remembers the pain and fear they caused him, even if it was only a fraction of what he'd put them through.
somehow, it wasn't until byan broke a mirror with his face that they were expelled from that school and finally got to move on to a different one. some part of them was vindictive enough to want to hunt him down and make his life miserable the way he made theirs, but there was an intense fear of seeing him again spurred both by trauma and the knowledge that he might not hold anything back while not on school grounds which ultimately stopped them.

Blue Lock Manga
We've been blessed by Chp 218 🙌 It's had a mixed response but I enjoyed it a lot.
Thoughts under the cut.
Previous chapter analyses
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The art continues to blow me away. I didn't appreciate it as much when I was bingeing through the chapters, or when I watched the anime 🙃 but gosh it's so pretty. These are my personal favourite panels this week. The one with Barou and Isagi is so evocative. A clear visual explanation of the difference between Metavision and Predator Eye.
Isagi is data scientist AU anybody?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's SUCH a dork, and I mean that in the kindest sense. Bro's reeling off completely fabricated terms to Niko like he's teaching a class đŸ„č I love that he's so keen to pass on what he's learned. He's shown himself to be a voracious learner, going to everyone from Barou to Rin to Kunigami for tips. I want to see someone ask him for instruction!
Also - how cute are Aiku and Niko in this chp?! They're like brothers. I have a draft outline in my writing vault for an Ubers found family fluff fic featuring these two, and this isn't helping me ignore it.
Not everyone has metavision, what a shocking reveal /s It felt heavy handed in delivery, but it shows who Isagi's rivals are in terms of playmaking and predictions. No, Raichi isn't coming for Himsagi's bag yet.
Tumblr media
Another amazing set of panels, love it any time they go nuts with the puzzle pieces. Isagi lists only four... but I think Kaneshiro's setting up Aiku to be the surprise fifth MV user. He might not consciously activate the ability as Isagi does, but he's definitely capable.
Tumblr media
I had sight of these panels from the leaks when I was writing up the chp 217 post, so I won't rehash the BM v Ubers point. But I like how this visualises their differences. The art is grotesque but really beautiful at the same time. Look at Isagi naming himself at the top alongside Kaiser! That's ego growth for you.
On that note: who's the Game Changer this chapter's talking about? Isagi seems to think it's going to be one of him or Kaiser, or out of Ubers, Lorenzo, Barou, Aiku or Niko. Naturally, it's not likely to be any of these, cos ✹suspense✹
The chapter itself ends with a suggestion that it'll be BM that supplies it...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
EMOGAMI PLEASE, DO SOMETHING WITH THAT EDGE OF YOURS, WHAT'S THE POINT OTHERWISE 😭
I'm biased towards my boy Rensuke, but I'll try to be objective here. On the subreddit, people are split 50:50 between being excited that he's getting a moment, or rolling their eyes at that edgy ball steal. I couldn't care less about whether this is an accurate depiction of soccer playing or not (it's a shounen battle manga as far as I'm concerned). But I do think Kunigami's solo run will get shut down next chapter. He hasn't had a lot to do in this match, but I think Kaneshiro will hold back on Kunigami's development for the PXG showdown.
Tumblr media
In the last panel, you can see Kunigami's barrelling towards the goal. There's two defenders up ahead. One is Niko, who's apparently well-suited to reacting to sudden threats (i.e. him tackling Isagi). The other is not so obvious... but odds are, it's Aiku. Who's also not done a lot so far and who doesn't have a grudge against Shidou Ryuusei to milk later
My prediction? Kunigami will outmuscle Niko, but get walled by a levelled-up Aiku, leaving a free ball for Kaiser or Isagi to claim.
As for who'll be the true game changer? Said it already, but if Hiori's not getting subbed on for our newly christened royal trash!Ness in the next five chapters, I'll eat my hat. 🐑
Tumblr media
No more commentary from me. Just signing off with a glorious narcissistic bastard entering flow 💅

Note
Can you try to write SDRA Boys being with the Ultimate Seer/Bruno S/O they hear the Song about them and even the so call bad predictions they made a Goldfish death,a bald priest and man who grew a gut
Utsuro, Teruya, and Haruhiko were already answered in a previous post, but the other bois are here!
Yamato Kisaragi:
He thinks your talent is so cool! He also likes to jam out to the song, but feels terrible when he realizes how cruel it is to someone so kind
He would never blame you for something bad happening, only thanking you for telling him
He loves your different personas, even making up some of his own
He's very affectionate and sweet towards you, and will tell off anyone who talks and about you
He would also make a nicer parody to the song, and would intentionally sing horribly just to get you to laugh
He's always there to comfort you if you feel bad about your ability, and won't hesitate to tell off your Abuela
"Hey, It's okay, S/o. I know about your ability, and how people feel about it. I love your ability, and I love you! Don't ever feel like your a bad omen, you're one of the best things to ever happen to me!"
Tsurugi Kinjo:
He's probably gotten multiple calls from people saying that you told them something bad would happen to them, and every time he would just ignore it
As he learned that everything the callers said would actually happen to them, he was still a bit skeptical.
How are you able to do that?
He tries not to treat you any differently when he first meets you, but he’s still suspicious of you
After a while though, he does learn to trust you, and decides that you aren’t to blame for misfortune
He doesn’t care about the song or anything, and as a cop he can publicly debunk the whole thing anyway
Your personas make him smile, and forget about whatever troubles he had faced during the day
“S/o, your
gift still confuses me, but I appreciate you for who you are. Your ability does not define you. You are not a bringer of bad luck, on the contrary
my life has been better with you in it.”
Mitch Higa:
He avoided you for as long as he possibly could He heard of what happened to the priest, the goldfish lady, and the fat man (his words)
With his reputation being extremely important to him, he didn't want to be anywhere near you, and you, being the understanding and kind person you were, accepted it
It wasn't until Haruhiko invited the class to an event and Mikako literally forced Mitch to introduce himself, did he realize how wrong the rumors were
Even if you were socially awkward, you still listened to what he had to say and even complimented him a few times
He hesitates over interacting with you again, still a bit skeptical about the rumors, but with the help from his class, he approaches you again
Your smile made him immediately decide he made the right choice
The two of you are the definition of the phrase "opposites attract"
He thought the song was pretty awesome, but wouldn't admit it
He was kinda jealous you had a whole song written about you-
He would chuckle a bit at any of your personas and give you a soccer ball to use as a prop
Eventually, when his experience at Hope's Peak gives him his growth as a person, and he comes to realize that fame isn't everything (a lesson you helped him learn), he makes the choice himself to put his (and hopefully yours) happiness first and your reputations aside and ask you out,
"Hey, S/o... I know I was a jerk when we first met, but you've definitely changed me. I know I'm still just a dude who loves soccer, but...ugh, what the hell.. asking someone out has never been this difficult...I really like you S/o, and I don't believe what they say about you. I don't care what my fans think. Will you.. go out with me?"
Kinji Uehara:
He isn't one to judge people based on rumors, even if one of the pastors at his church claimed to go bald because of you
He introduced himself to you and treated you like he would treat any other person, and soon you guys became close friends
When someone warns him to stay away or says something bad about you, he'll politely correct them, telling them that you never wanted anything bad to happen or any fish to die
He wouldn't blame you for any predictions you have about him. He tries to remind you to focus on the good predictions, and the happiness you have given people.
He doesn't care much for the song, politely asking people to stop singing it, maybe less politely if they sing it while you're still there
He would smile at the personas, and the two of you would use it to make the kids at the orphanage laugh
"You're ability is a gift, S/o. You were given the ability to see the future from a miracle. Even if the results may not yield to what people may wish, your gift was never meant to be a curse. You are not a curse. I'm sorry that your grandmother can't see that, but I do."
Kakeru Yamaguchi:
He was definitely scared of you
Kakeru apologized for everything he said, worried that you could curse him or something if he offended you
You were a lot sweeter than he imagined!  He thought you were adorable and caught feelings pretty quickly, and would bury his red face in his hands whenever you pulled out one of your personas
The song is catchy to him, but he would feel terrible every time he thinks about it. How could he like such slander against you?
You, Kakeru, and Kanata are known to be the wholesome trio of your class
It's a while before he is able to gain the courage to confess his feelings, and it isn't until he finds you doubting yourself when he finally does it,
"I-I love you, S/o! A-And I don't care what people say! They're wrong about you! Y-You're the nicest p-person I know! Your grandmother is wrong... You're the miracle! All of you!"
DRA Yuki Maeda:
Yuki knew a lot about you from the start, having researched all the ultimates before going to Hope's Peak
However, you seemed so much cuter and shy than he thought you would be
He thought the song was pretty catchy, but he stopped listening to it when he learned how wrong it was about you, and wouldn't hesitate to correct anyone if they thought this was what you were like
"Hey, it's not S/o's fault that those things happened to you. You asked for your fortune and they told you, even if it's not what you wanted to hear."
He would be curious about his own fortune, and wouldn't blame you if it was bad
He would chuckle at your other personas, while mentally thinking about how cute you were
"Hey, S/o, you shouldn't let their words get to you! They don't know the real you, and you're so much better than they realize! That's why... I like you!"

Just watched episode 9 of Wonderful Pretty Cure, in which the power of the Niko Garden's diamond allows Mey Mey to pull some strings to allow Komugi to attend school with Iroha.
The episode begins with Komugi being woken up from a dream by Mey Mey showing up in Iroha's bedroom to deliver some good news. He drops off a school uniform, explaining it is for Komugi and that she'll be attending school alongside Iroha from now on. Komugi is happy, while Iroha points out that there are certain procedures to transferring into school. Mey Mey assures her it has been taken care of, thanks to the power of the Niko Garden diamond, AKA the giant gem that the Cures have gradually been repairing by rescuing the Kirarin animals.
Mey Mey continues to talk about the diamond, while Komugi tries to figure out how to put on her new uniform, trying to do so while still in dog form.
When they get to school, Komugi begins happily greeting everyone she comes across, until she spots some soccer players practicing, and decides she wants to play fetch with them. The way she catches the soccer ball gets the attention of one of the soccer players, Sho Ikari. Iroha eventually catches up to Komugi, and apologizes to the soccer players for her interrupting their practice.
As Komugi is being introduced to the class, both Iroha and Satoru are rather nervous, for obvious reasons. Luckily, most of the classmates think Komugi's answers to their questions are just her attempts at telling jokes. When one of them asks about Komugi's surname, Satoru decides to help out by quickly claiming that Komugi is Iroha's cousin, meaning Komugi's surname is also Inukai, which Komugi is happy to go along with.
Sho introduces himself to Komugi, and challenges her to soccer later, wanting to test his skills against her with her as the goal keeper. Komugi gladly accepts, proving to be a natural talent during P.E., with Sho ultimately being unable to get any of the shots past her. When it comes to other classes, Komugi has a bit more difficulty understanding what she's supposed to be doing, with Iroha and Satoru doing what they can to help her out a little.
During lunchtime, Iroha shares her food with Komugi, with a few classmates pitching in as well to make sure Komugi has enough to eat. Iroha reminds Komugi that there are things in there that she shouldn't eat when she's in her dog form, with Komugi assuring her she's already aware of that. As Komugi is about to chow down on the food like she usually would as a dog, Satoru quickly pitches in by lending her a spoon, averting an awkward situation.
After lunch, a tired Komugi falls asleep, reverting to her dog form in the process. A panicked Iroha tries to figure out what to do in this situation as Mayu approaches, trying to hide Komugi from her. Mayu eventually spots Komugi, and asks if she followed Iroha from home. Iroha, realizing she has a way out, decides to go along with it and claims that she'll go return Komugi home while lunch break is ongoing.
Elsewhere, Sho is doing some training, still wanting to win against Komugi next time they play. Along the way, he spots a Garugaru egg, and goes to inspect it.
Satoru and Iroha let Komugi nap during lunchtime, until she wakes up. Shortly after waking up, Komugi picks up on Sho's scent and decides to go see if he wants to play with her again. The three of them spot Sho still training, now using the Garugaru egg for balance training by balancing it on his head while running. Satoru, knowing what Garugaru eggs look like, freaks out and explains the situation to the girls, and they decide to see if they can do something about the situation before it hatches.
They chase after Sho, trying to figure out how exactly to explain to him that he really shouldn't be using the Garugaru egg as a training tool without revealing exactly what it is. Komugi eventually manages to take the Garugaru egg from Sho and runs off with it. Sho initially tries to follow, but soon loses track of her and leaves.
Komugi returns to Satoru and Iroha, having managed to run a lap around the whole school. Before they can figure out what to do with the Garugaru egg, it hatches into a duck Garugaru. Since Komugi was balancing it on her head, it lands on top of her, but luckily she's unharmed. Komugi and Iroha transform and prepare to deal with the situation.
As the Garugaru goes to swim in the water nearby, the Cures briefly observe it, noting this Garugaru doesn't seem that bad, as it initially doesn't seem hostile. However, once it starts shooting streams of water at them from its beak, they quickly get into action, trying to figure out how to get it to calm down so they can purify it.
Satoru eventually has an idea on how they can stop its movements, reminding them of Komugi's soccer skills from earlier. Cure Wonderful is initially unsure what he means, but as Cure Friendy gets into position and she recalls her match with Sho earlier, she realizes what she needs to do. Cure Friendy blocks the Garugaru's attack with her barrier, causing the Garugaru to send itself flying backwards from the water pressure. Cure Wonderful then uses her own barrier to gently catch the Garugaru, stopping its movements so they can purify it and send it back to Niko Garden.
After school, Sho asks Komugi if she wants to join the soccer club, but Komugi tells him she's already got plans to walk home with Iroha, but that she'll gladly play with him again some other time. Sho is still determined to win next time.
As they are walking home, Iroha reminds Komugi that school isn't just about fun, and that if she wants to keep attending, she'll have to study and get good test scores, asking her if she's still willing to continue going knowing all that. Komugi notes that while it sounds difficult, she agrees to take it seriously so she can spend more time with Iroha. Iroha is satisfied with this answer, and promises to help Komugi study.
Another fun episode! Komugi still has a lot to learn about being a human, and I'm certainly excited to see how that goes as she continues to attend school with Iroha and the others. I also enjoyed her interactions with Sho, who clearly considers her a worthy opponent and rival, while she just sees him as a new friend to play fetch with. I hope we see more of Sho in future episodes.
I'll be looking forward to seeing what happens next!

i wonder if even i could believe myself if i said "the next stage of isagi-kaiser rivalry development is isagi switching the target of his admiration from noa to kaiser and in fact he's already half-way there"
my evidence is noa's goal in v.spain and kaiser's goal in v.italy being the Same
Tumblr media Tumblr media
noa up against 3 defenders, lifts the ball, gets tackled, scores anyway. kaiser made his shot under suspiciously similar circumstances but i won't upload photos of his goal because i don't need to, the images are seared into my brain
then the language used by isagi to describe both goals and along with them both noa and kaiser, gonna conveniently group them together in a box
Tumblr media
isagi attributes both goals to a "one-of-a-kind ability" of the shooter. noa has "a never-before-seen ability in soccer [...] a unique gift from the heavens" (ă‚”ăƒƒă‚«ăƒŒćČ䞊か぀おăȘă„èƒœćŠ› [
] 支侀無äșŒăŸă‚‰ă—ă‚ă‚‹ć€©èłŠăźæ‰) while kaiser receives "isn't his an ability unique to him you wouldn't find anywhere else in the world?" (äž–ç•ŒäžæŽąă—ăŠă‚‚ć”Żäž€ç„ĄäșŒă˜ă‚ƒăïŒŸă‚ăźèƒœćŠ›) (btw isagi phrases this as a rhetorical question not an actual one), key phrases overlap here
also noa's talent being "god-given" (ć€©èłŠăźæ‰, a less literal translation would be "natural gift") while "michael" means "gift from god" wow haha isn't that a coincidence. furthermore noa is "the genius i've chased all this time" (äżșăźèżœă„é§†ă‘ç¶šă‘ăŸć€©æ‰) and kaiser is "the genius i need to chase" (äżșăŒèżœă„é§†ă‘ă‚‹ć€©æ‰) kaiser replacing noa as isagi's target
the point is noa's and kaiser's goals are paralleled both in execution and in isagi's analysis and they represent The Same Thing to isagi as well. and finally the panel that haunts my entire life
Tumblr media
kaiser's blue rose visually presented as an ideal on equal footing with the other five teams, a legitimate original philosophy belonging to kaiser that can be taught and learned. kaiser at the start of nel obviously was not like this; nothing says kaiser cannot develop into this, or that he hasn't already begun to do so. the reason this is important is because isagi went to basmĂŒn to learn "rationality" (following noa). noa's goal in v.spain is a result of his ideal "rationality", while kaiser's goal in v.italy is the result of his ideal "believe. nothing is 'impossible' for me" that narratively/thematically defeats a "rational" isagi, kaiser's ideal winning against noa's ideal using isagi as a noa proxy
in any case this also doubles as a "noa's goal and kaiser's goal are basically the same the noa-kaiser conspiracy is real" post so even if my claim doesn't come true the bones upon which it's built are solid i think

15 Questions for 15 Mutuals
I saw @jenplayssims do this and since she left it open for anyone else to do, I thought I might go ahead and do it!
--
Are you named after anyone? Don't think so, my name was just something that randomly popped into my mom's head and she liked it a lot, so she ended up using it.
When’s the last time you cried? Two days ago, I'm pretty sure. I don't even remember why.
Do you have kids? Not at the moment!
Do you use sarcasm a lot? Way too often, and it has gotten me in trouble.
What sports do you play/have you played? Soccer and t-ball when I was little, though not because I wanted to, lol. I'm just not a very athletic person overall!
What's the first thing you notice about other people? I'm not sure I really notice anything? I don't know, you'd think I would since I used to work as a fast food cashier and thus interacted with a lot of people, but I think I got burned out on noticing stuff because of that.
Eye color? Hazel!
Scary movies or happy endings? Scary movies, all the way. Oddly enough that genre is one of my favorites next to historical fiction, I actually think most of the movies I own are horror.
Any special talents? I like to think I'm decent at singing, but having COVID kind of screwed me over in that regard so I haven't really gone back to it.
Where were you born? The good old South.
what are your hobbies? Simming, writing, reading, watching movies. I also play other games like Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, Disney Dreamlight Valley, etc.
Do you have any pets? We currently have three in our house! One is an elderly Chow-Chow mix, we also have a husky and an orange tabby cat. They're actually my siblings pets so I can't really claim them, I do have three plants of my own though if those count!
How tall are you? I forget the exact height, but I am Tall. I can thank my dad's side of the genetics for that.
Fave subject in school? History! If that wasn't obvious already.
Dream job? I've always had ambitions of becoming a published writer and would still love to do so someday, but lately I've also had this dream to just settle somewhere and open my own little mom-and-pop type coffee shop -- which I'm actually seriously considering doing within the next couple of years, so fingers crossed I can make that a reality!
--
I'm also leaving this open to anyone who might like to do it, so definitely free to do so!

Could you possibly write a little fic of shawn being jealous of someone flirting with taker and claiming that taker was ONLY HIS TO FLIRT WITH
There’s only ever jealous taker fics but I just know shawn would be SEETHING with jealousy if someone tried flirting with his man
I can because I already love the idea of jealous lil Shawn and I have the perfect situation for it.
------------------------------------------------------------------
If the others didn't know about Shawn and taker, they were about too.
"You reckon we can work that into a story?" Kevin asks. "Yeah, I bet we can" hunter nods. "Shawn?" Kevin asks looking up. Hunter copy's and both men say nothing as shawn closes his fist around his water bottle, crushing it and spilling water everywhere. Everyone stops what their doing at the sound. Kevin stands and looks to see Shawn staring at the tv. "Oh.." Kevin mutters as Taker smirks at sable. John moves closer and looks. "Whats wrong?" He asks confused. Kevin pitied the poor newbies who didn't understand. They would soon. "Shawn.." Kevin tries. Goldust doesn't hesitate to turn the tv off. Shawn doesn't move. He doesn't even say anything.
"Is he blinking?" Jeff asks. "No honey. No he's not." Goldust answers. "Is he jealous? Does he like sable?" Jeff asks. No one responds. Jeff doesn't have to wait long because takers opponents are limping through the door and shortly after taker is following. Goldberg moves just in time to miss the crushed water bottle flying through the air. Taker raises an eyebrow as it hits his chest. He's mostly shocked at how much it hurt. But then he sees the person who threw it and is it makes sense. He used to play football (rugby but if I put that people will cry at me. Why call it football if your gonna carry the ball all game? And yet call the foot game soccer? Weirdos).
Shawn doesn't look at him, which makes the bottle thing a bit eerie. "We done using words these days?" Taker asks moving closer. "I don't know, who do I goto when the lockeroom leader is the one causing issues?" Goldust asks. Taker looks at him confused. Goldust nods towards the tv, plug still firmly in his hand. "Oh..." Taker mutters turning back too Shawn. "Your angry about that little thing?" Taker asks. That's when Shawn faces him. "Little thing?" Shawn asks quietly. "Shawn-" "LITTLE THING!" Shawn yells. Taker raises his hands slightly. "Asshole" Shawn growls before storming out. "Uhhh" Jeff looks at taker. Taker groans. "Shawn!" Taker calls running after the hot headed blonde. Hunter looks at kevin. "You know what that's about?" He asks. "Nope." Kevin denys a little too quickly.
----------
Shawn hated vinces parties. Sure, he loved them at one point. But now? He hates them.
John rushes over. "Cmon Shawn! Your missing all the fun." John smiles. "Im fine here kid" Shawn huffs. He's been doing a very good job at avoiding taker and some bright blue eyed newbie won't change that.
It changed that.
Shawn allows John to drag him towards the crowd and he's glad he did. His eyes burn into sable as she leans against takers arm, FEELING his arms and GIGGLING at him. Shawn, if he didn't respect women, would like to punch her right there and then. But, he's not that way. His mama didn't raise him to be like that. So he bites his tongue. Its not until taker smiles at her that he looses his shit.
"Enough!" Shawn barks. "Oh god.." Kevin mumbles into his drink. Taker looks at shawn. "Are you serious right now?" Shawn asks. "What?" Taker asks. "What? What! Your going to flirt with her right in front of me now? Doing it on live TV wasn't enough, you have to do it in person aswell?" Shawn demands. "Flirting? Shawn are you-" "if the word crazy leaves your mouth I'm going to loose my shit" Shawn warns. "So it was about you liking sable?" Jeff asks. "Liking me?" Sable asks confused. Her hand still on taker. Shawn moves forward and pulls taker away from her, standing between them.
"Touch him again and I will cut your fucking hands off" Shawn growls. "Oh..you were so wrong" John smirks holding his hand out. Jeff groans and hands him a fifty. "What?" Sable gasps. "Im serious. Flirt and fuck with any one else, he is mine. Not yours, keep away" Shawn tells her. "And that goes for all of you! I even see someone send him a flirty look I'm going to loose it" Shawn snaps. "Jesus, Shawn a word, now" Taker sighs pulling Shawn away from the crowd. Not that it matters, they all turn to watch anyways.
"Thats what's wrong? You think I care about sable flirting with me? Since when did you care about people flirting with me? You always let goldust-" "I used to let goldust." Shawn cuts in. "I care because your mine. Before we weren't a thing, I didnt have anything to loose. But you asked me out. We are boyfriends. I'm not loosing that for some prettier model" Shawn states crossing his arms. "Prettier model?" Taker asks confused. Shawn nods. "Shawn? Baby boy, you are so much more prettier. Your mine, you know I wouldn't go and bail on you like that after trying so damn hard to get you" Taker admits. Shawn frowns. "Its okay to be jealous aswell Shawn, I get jealous too, but just as we said, we gotta talk about it. Not just bottle it up" Taker tells him.
"I know. I feel stupid now. I guess 90s Shawn still lingers in my brain sometimes. He was a insecure little shit head." Shawn huffs. Taker leans down and kisses shawns temple. Ignore the whoops and cheers. "Would you really hurt someone for touching me?" Taker asks quietly. "Of course I would. It works both ways you know? Your mine, no one gets to touch you like that but me" shawn states. Taker chuckles and kisses him softly. "Mm I understand why you find jealous me so hot now." Taker murmurs. "Oh jealously can always look hot in the right relationships." Shawn smirks as he wraps his arms around takers neck. "How about we ditch this lame party...have our own?" Taker asks squeezing shawns hips. "Thought you'd never ask big boy" Shawn smirks.
------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm sorry this is short. I wrote this during my actual lunch break and didn't have long to do it. Hopefully, if people want more jealous hbtaker I can work on one during the weekend. (I don't work weekends, whoop whoop)
I kinda wanna do one with a man x man. Either Shawn jealous or taker so yk leave suggestions for that.
I sorta feel like they'd be different. Shawn would be short tempered and angry, threatening violence but never doing it because he's not actually angry he's just upset and hurt whilst taker would play the long game. Taker would be pissed and angry and violent. He'd wait to see it its a one time thing. If it is, he warns them to back off. If its not, he will get physical. Shawns his, no one else's.

LOS ANGELES— After decades of European soccer dominance, international superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to “give the fans what they really want” by joining an MLS team and promising to score 100 goals in every game, a pledge he says is "both a reasonable challenge and a gift" to American soccer. Fresh off the announcement, Ronaldo assured fans that his “conservative estimate” of 100 goals per game is entirely achievable. “This is America, the land of big dreams and big numbers,” Ronaldo said during his first MLS press conference, flashing his trademark smirk. “If you’re going to show up here, you don’t just play soccer—you do it in a way that no one else ever could, or ever would. That’s what I bring to the table: not just one goal, or two goals, but a hundred, minimum, every single game.” In what’s already being hailed as the most absurd contract in MLS history, Ronaldo signed with the fictional Los Angeles Galaxy Starbeams for an undisclosed amount rumored to include a bonus for every goal beyond 50, a personal entourage of ball boys, and a "flexible jet access clause" to avoid the rigors of commercial flights between cities. In fact, Ronaldo reportedly insisted on being flown by jet even to local Los Angeles matches, calling LA traffic “a challenge I’m unwilling to face.” “Cristiano is already planning his goal dance routines,” said an anonymous Starbeams representative. “He’s debuting new moves for every tenth goal, and there’s talk of a laser light show at 100 goals. It’s like combining soccer with Cirque du Soleil, and it’s exactly the spark the MLS has been looking for.” Fans across the country, meanwhile, have set sky-high expectations, eagerly awaiting the legendary soccer icon’s arrival. According to Ronaldo’s new social media team, his Instagram feed is ready to post real-time updates for each goal. In a stroke of marketing genius, they've arranged for drone footage that will circle each stadium, tracking his shots on goal and live-streaming them with captions like, “Goal #87: Still Got It” and “Goal #99: Didn’t Even Break a Sweat.” MLS teams, however, are reportedly experiencing mixed emotions about this new chapter. “It’s a privilege to play against such a legend,” admitted Starbeams coach Max Farrell, nervously adjusting his tie. “But I’ll be honest: 100 goals is quite a bit for us to accommodate. We’re looking at how we can improve our defensive strategies to allow for just the right amount of awe-inspiring goals while still keeping a shred of competitive dignity.” Meanwhile, the rest of the Starbeams roster seems downright relieved by Ronaldo’s game plan. “Honestly, I think I’ll just hang back and let him do his thing,” admitted defender Luis Moreno, sipping an iced coffee. “He’s out there breaking records, and I’ll be here just admiring the view. In fact, most of us are thinking of turning our positions into cheerleading squads, complete with pom-poms.” The league’s fans are equally excited, with some even raising the bar for Ronaldo. “A hundred is great, but why stop there?” said die-hard fan Greg Martin, who claims he’s planning a “150 Goals or We Riot” sign for Ronaldo’s debut. “I mean, this guy’s a legend. If he’s really going to be the GOAT, I’m expecting at least a couple goals per minute. And if he hits 200, I’m naming my kid Ronaldo. It’s all or nothing, baby!” The Ronaldo fever has spread beyond fans and into MLS corporate headquarters, where executives are reportedly scrambling to update their rulebooks, which currently have no guidelines for a player who routinely scores over 100 goals per game. According to insiders, they are preparing to introduce a new “Ronaldo Clause” that will allow his games to run indefinitely until he hits the goal benchmark or requests a cappuccino. Sports analysts, meanwhile, are pondering the ripple effects of Ronaldo’s goals-per-game ratio on the sport itself. “This could be revolutionary,” said soccer analyst Wendy Harmon. “His relentless scoring might break soccer’s traditional barriers.
We could see six-hour games, goalposts being set up at both ends of the field, maybe even goalies getting swapped out like relief pitchers in baseball. The possibilities are endless, and all absolutely ridiculous.” When asked if he planned to surpass his 100-goal mark, Ronaldo just grinned and shrugged. “I’m just here to bring my best to the pitch and give American fans the kind of experience they deserve. And if that happens to include scoring a hundred goals every game for the rest of my career, well
I’ll do it for them. They need it more than they know.” But not everyone is equally thrilled about Ronaldo’s stateside arrival. When asked to comment, MLS defenders across the league let out a collective sigh. “So we’re supposed to let this guy score 100 times and just stand there?” complained one defender from the Portland Timbers. “I didn’t sign up for that. I thought this league was supposed to be fun. Now we’re just a backdrop for Cristiano’s personal highlight reel.” Ronaldo’s spokesperson has also hinted at a new merch line to commemorate his unprecedented MLS journey. Fans can look forward to purchasing 100 Goals a Game scarves, limited-edition “goal counters,” and Ronaldo-signed soccer balls pre-inflated to the “perfect scoring pressure.” For now, all eyes are on the Starbeams’ first game, where Ronaldo is expected to set the record for most goals in a debut match. And if he hits his goal, it could just be the start of a new era for MLS—one with goalposts left smoking from sheer overuse.
