Huh, found an older art piece of the FSM as a child

I hc he ran away when he was 14-15. This is him as a kid, basically 14. Also, i thought it’d be fun if he looked like both his sons hence the two toned hair (personally think he made his kids asexually btw cause its hilarious)

I also like to think hes a lot like BOTH his sons personality wise.

ANYWAY that moment when trauma hits you like a truck. As a child soldier, you are robbed of your childhood (lloyd parallel fr) and then you run away making 16 realms, 2 kids and possibly humans as well. You ingrain it into your everyday life and never realise your coping methods are unhealthy until you suddenly realise you’ve hurt your sons, but its too late by then.

My angst material is focusing on the generational trauma here btw

I mean FSM runs from the pressure from everyone around him -> Wu and Garmadon feel pressure to uphold their fathers expectations and everyone elses -> Lloyd trying to uphold expectations from everyone around him…

Controversial media takes of various kinds:

MAD MEN is not a good show. It *could* have been a good show, but it's constantly kneecapped by the showrunners' uncertainty about whether they want to critique Don Draper or fellate him (with the show inevitably opting for the latter) and their determination to sideline the other characters (who are often more interesting, and sometime played by actors less insufferable than Jon Hamm, whom I hate) in favor of Don. The longer the show goes on, the less it knows what to do with the period events it references other than to have the characters nod solemnly at them, it only intermittently remembers that Jewish people and people of color exist (and it never actually cares), and its contempt for its female characters (whose story the show really should have been) becomes more and more troubling. Also, a big chunk of the premise is ripped off rather shamelessly from the popular Sloan Wilson novel THE MAN IN THE GRAY FLANNEL SUIT (which had an indifferent film adaptation starring Gregory Peck).

SOME LIKE IT HOT is not pioneering Queer Representation, it's a series of offensive homophobic jokes and transphobic Men in Dresses gags by a notoriously mean-spirited writer-director who thought that shit was just hilarious, starring two of my least favorite American male stars of the period. It's also not funny at all unless you share Wilder's chaser-transphobe predilections. If you're LGBT and you love this awful movie, I certainly can't stop you, but understand that Billy Wilder was very definitely laughing at you, and ask yourself if you're okay with that.

Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce were perfectly fine as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson; some of the Universal Holmes films are actually quite good despite their modest budgets; and having Bruce play Watson as a comic-relief buffoon was an eminently reasonable creative decision because it gave Watson something to do onscreen other than be constantly awed at Holmes' brilliance, which is boring and reduces the actor to a glorified prop.

The Jeremy Brett Holmes TV series of the eighties is mid at best: Brett is not the definitive Holmes; his decision to play Holmes as an icy misanthrope (which Holmes is not in the canon) makes those versions frequently unpleasant to watch; and any time the show's writers try to expand upon the Doyle stories, they inevitably go very wrong. I can put on any of the Rathbone/Bruce movies, even the bad ones, and find it at least agreeable background noise, but the thought of revisiting the Granada show makes me grimace.

The Stephen Sommers MUMMY movies with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are incredibly racist — as are all iterations of that franchise, including the 1932 Karloff film and the more recent, wretched Alex Kurtzman iteration with Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella — which really undermines their entertainment value even as Big Stupid Popcorn Fun, no matter how how hot you thought Fraser and Weisz were. THE MUMMY (1999) was startlingly racist by the standards of 25 years ago and it has not aged well.

HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH is incredibly offensive transmisogynistic hackwork and the attempts to position it as a modern-day ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW Participatory Event speak volumes about what y'all actually take from the latter.

are you guys ready for another cleo lore drop? ok well im sure i mentioned a while back that i developed an encryption system when i was 13 or whatever and it was kind of a whole thing and apple wanted to buy it off of me and all that stuff. anyways well hold that thought. so i was chatting with my mum the other day and she was telling me about how one of her students was into weezer and so she showed her class a tiktok that i was in (against my will mind you😐) that had gone viral where me and my roommate were performing o canada for our highschool grad and decided to weezer the audience. are you still following me? okay. well i groaned about it i was like mum why would you show them that. and she said. hey come on its not like thats the first time you went viral. and i looked at her and went. huh???? and she said oh don't you remember the time that science webseries on youtube heard about your encryption system and tracked you down to ask if they could make an episode about you so you said yes and went in for filming and then it got like 26k views. and i had to go 😃 oh. yeah

having read more of caitlin 'ask a mortician' doughty's oeuvre & her old content i think it's baffling that woman still has a platform, especially with the repugnant shit she jokes about & the fact that up until her late 20s a significant part of her online brand was edgy misogyny. & you hope people care but when she talks about making a game out of infant cremations in her PUBLISHED BOOK it's hard to believe they do (& before ohhhh funeral directors make dark jokes to cope: not like that though!¡!!)

i wish i had presentation advice :( i personally solved this problem by getting so depressed i tried to o*f myself and then realized there are worse things in life. sadly even if this happens to you it may not work. i know too many people who aren’t afraid of death but are, in fact, afraid of presentations. rooting for you <3

jdjjeje bestie i was feeling very faint when i presented. shaky hands shaky breaths shaky voice like all of that. one thing i always try to keep in mind is that its not as worst as i make it seem. i have a very bad way of perceiving a situation to be the worst thing possible when in fact its actually just a minor thing. presentations are the worst though its hard to break through of that .

but in my case since it was students presenting their work i knew we all shared the same feeling of nervousness and anxiety and i bet you none of us actually paid attention to one another jfndj (i mean i wasnt paying attention before and after my turn so). the comfort of knowing the discomfort is shared between peers can actually be so motivating !!!!
