Hi it's just to let you know that the official romanization of Revaan's name is Raverne ! Also they have romanized Baul's name to Baur !

Twst coming back at us again with the least expected romanization! thank you everybody (oh god my inbox) (no it's great, I literally asked for this and the reactions have been INCREDIBLE, thank you all!)

I do like Raverne though, I think it's got a nice fancy sound to it! (I had kinda suspected it was going to be an R instead of an L, so the fact that it's SO close to Laverne except for that is hilarious to me personally.) and Dragoneye Duke is honestly probably the best translation for his title, I wasn't envying the localizers that one. :') Baur instead of Baul I was NOT expecting, but in retrospect I think his name's supposed to be a reference to the Bauru crocodile, so that actually makes way more sense!

someone else also said Meleanor has become Maleanor, which is the REALLY weird one to me, because I was so surprised it was written as Mel instead of Mal in the first place?! oh god no I can't decide which one I like better. 😭 (I wonder if they might change it to Mal...they have made romanization changes before) (like I remember House of Distraction being corrected to House of Destruction in Playful Land) (I did check and she's still Mel for now, but I dunno, they might Mal her up and some point and save me from having to make a decision about which one to use) (HECK I CAN'T DECIDE)

I have so many thoughts about why this arc is SO GOOD #But the short version is like #It is an arc about Fjord and identity and power and self and agency as he faces the truth of his patron and faces a rival warlock #But it is ALSO about Fjord grappling with those things bc he is ALSO processing grief and sadness and a search for direction and purpose #and grappling with disappointing disillusionment in how the world and people in your life (including maybe yourself) isn't what you thought #and about coming to resolve he has the agency and strength to not allow these things to deter him from purpose and place in the world.#And—this is why this is a PHENOMENAL arc—so is the rest of the Nein. Individually and as a group.#All of them are grappling with feelings of grief and sadness and disappointment and directionlessness and helplessness #just the grand malaise and relentless shapelessness of what living often is #They also as individuals and as a group together also find that resolve and strength to carry on and find self and purpose and direction #They all begin to process the very same things in their own lives and in their shared experience as The Nein. As a fun fact, the craziest day trip/road trip we have done: we went to IKEA about two ish hours away. Came home, realized upon unloading new bedframe that he had misplaced his wallet somewhere. So what did we do?

WELL IKEA was closed but you bet your ass we got BACK in the car and drove BACK to the pit stop (an hour?? ish?? away??) that VERY night and checked the trash there and asked the people inside (who were sups friendly! They checked the tapes for us and everything!) if they'd seen it. They hadn't! So, we drove BACK home and the next day, after work, we yeeted ourselves into the car and drove BACK to ikea to see if they had it

AND THEY DID!

He was so relieved and then we had IKEA hot dogs for dinner, his treat bc he had his wallet again 🤭🤭🤭 (they are pretty good but costco ones I think deffs are better!)

BUT YEAH. My actual spouse is just as unhinged as I am and I love him about it 😍😍😍😍😍😍

There is a very exquisite agony in playing a game you love so so so so so much, and realizing that one of the other players is trying to play a totally different game than you.

#hush frenchy #we went to the coffin shop today in vallaki #and our rogue triggered combat SIMPLY because he didn't want to leave the house without looting every single room #to clarify: WE HAD ACHIEVED OUR OBJECTIVE #we literally just needed to get out #but the rogue's player was like cmoooon its no fun to leave without looting everything we can get our hands on #now everything we're doing has gone to absolute shit #and to clarify: its going to be very interesting!!#and I feel like I would've been just fine with the result #IF it had been for any other reason besides that this one player seems to think that we're in a video game #like if there had been some kind of character motivation? or genuine concern that we were missing a piece of something we were looking for?#totally fine!! love that in fact!!#but just stealing shit because 'you're the rogue' feels... idk.#it just feels like it's a totally different game than the rest of us are playing #and now we ALL have to deal with the consequences #i just. urgh. i do not know what to do #i am gonna talk to the dm and see if she noticed the same thing as me #and try to brainstorm we the players can do to impart a sense of balance for people with different play styles #but i just feel like despite repeated efforts by the dm to be like hey this is a game for exploration and character engagement #the player is just ignoring that and doing Whatever He Feels Like #ANYWAY SORRY RANT OVER #I'm just really in love with this game and having one really thorny part is just HNG #positive note: the wizard whipped out alter self and thought he was the coolest guy in the whole world #despite repeatedly missing in combat #it was very cute and i wish Wyn wasn't absolutely certain that she was about to die #because she would absolutely stroke his ego about it simply to see him preen #the fighter was also very sweet and keeps working so hard to protect wyn #and since I'm a fighter in my other game i know where to put myself to make it easier for him so there's a lot of synergy #IT'S JUST VERY CUTE AND NICE AND GOOD. I LOVE THEM BOTH A LOT

I do recommend it. all first 3 games (I haven't had the time to play the rest so I can't say anything about them)#but ace attorney is a visual novel game. technically 'only dialogue' and that isn't everyones cup of tea #it's very funny tho. and the characters are very likable. the plot is nice (although some parts can get a bit repetitive)#but yes. do give it a try. it's more about the plot than the gameplay if that makes sense #one of my favorite games of all time honestly. give ghost trick a try too if you want. it's very good as well #I guess you should try to go in the games 'blind'. no spoilers. but whatever you want #ace attorney #not art #if you do end up playing it (or watching the gameplay on YouTube idk) feel free to tell me if you liked it :)#I feel like I'm the least qualified person to ask for any kind of recommendation but then I remembered what some of my friends recommend me #to watch/play and I feel better about my taste in media #even if you don't like the game I really recommend you listen the the soundtrack of the great ace attorney

bear with me here but you SEE, the cult he's apart of is VERY obsessed with the idea of " everything, " with their god, dubbed " The Eyes of The Universe, " either promising them " everything " - like the world or whatever they individually desire, or possibly protection from the alleged end of the world... or something like that, it's not entirely clear what the cult's or their god's motives truly are beyond the umbrella of the term " Everything, "

but i believe there's been some alluding to the god or the cult members using others' bodies as vessels, WHICH MAKES ME THINK... the human flesh is Important to the cult. & you've got a cannibal right there, referred to by the creator with a religious quote that virtually pertains to " every moving thing " being nothing but feed to him.

SO I CAN'T SIT HERE & SAY IT'S NOT PLAUSIBLE YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN? thinking it could possibly be done as some form of connection TO the eyes of the universe or as ritual practice for the cult's end GOAL,

i will not stand here and say the quarry's writing is perfect by any means, but man. that moment. in the beginning. when chris absolutely loses his shit and you see every last one of the hacketteers freeze..............shocked, wide-eyed, so taken aback they don't move even to look at each other.............

and then, realizing what just happened, chris scrambles frantically to grab hold of the situation again. he tries to grin at ryan ("tries" being the keyword), he tosses him the keys like nothing's wrong. he tries to go back to being mr. h - he does, he tries so hard - and finally when ryan talks to him, there's what waver in his voice. that absolute lack of understanding in his eyes. ryan's not just surprised, he's not just shocked......for a second there, he is scared, and chris sees that, realizes it, and peels out of there before anyone can say anything else. just.....

JUST............

i think that moment is 100% the moment i realized UH OH I THINK I LOVE CHRIS HACKETT because that's when we see the counselors have been around this guy for two whole months (some of them even longer, possibly), and not once. not once!!!!!!!!!!! had they realized who he really was.

ugh. UGH. i LOVE IT.

I Am Once Again Asking Why Antibiotics Make Me Feel Like Someone Who Has Never Been Disabled

#Very slight exaggeration but whatever infection I'm being treated for had exactly one symptom #And I'm not sure that symptom actually has to do with the infection. We'll find out tomorrow ig if it's not better #But nearly every time I'm put on an antibiotic no matter which one it is #My mind clears. I have motivation. I feel well rested. I can multitask.#It's like a portion of my Adhd goes away though not all of it #I'm properly hungry and food tastes good.#What the fuck #I listened to critical role and washed a sink full of dishes and cooked rice and meat and two kinds of squash #And I only took the first antibiotic this morning like it's been 5 hours and two of them I slept #My muscles do feel a little weak though #I did read about latent bacterial infections and even pandas as someone who constantly had strep as a kid #But there is so little information on any of that

i Love pkmn but i love it as a worldbuild. when i play the game its just bc i like exploring the world and the critters. and i feel like everyone else who likes pkmn are all ppl who Love the games and competitive parts of it. so i feel a little embarrassed about not being a game-lover and competition-lover... i simply enjoy the world and the silly creatures 😭😭
