JM JK timeline.- my observations how they grew over the years

2017 - Part 3

Ooh, we have reached a major event here.  Serendipity. 4 September 2017, or is it 1 September 2017 (??), as I will explain bellow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEMaH9Sm3lQ&t=16s .  

Or what I like to call:  JM’s love ode to JK.

Now tell me this: If Jimin’s song Serendipity was released 4th September 2017, and uploaded to BangtanTv on 5th September 2017, why is the date stamped on the MV 1 Sep 2017? 

 Does that date mean something? Let me think for a second….oh, it does, doesn’t it?  It’s someone’s birthday !!!

JM tells us himself: “All of this isn’t just a coincidence”.

Serendipity is a beautiful love song, and I honestly believe it is JM’s love ode to JK, a birthday present to his love.  

I am aware that Jimin is not the one who wrote the lyrics for the song.  RM did though.  RM, that at this point was very much aware of the relationship and JM’s great love for JK. RM that had written JK’s Begin, a song that everyone agrees is a very personal song of JK’s.  

The “I am you, you are me” line actually originated from a song released by Zico in early 2016.  There are theories that Jikook used a reference from that songs MV (the band aids on their fingers) during a Puma fan sign on April 2nd 2016.  So, if this is true and the line had special meaning for them to start with, and it found it’s way into the song lyrics... feel free to make your conclusions...

And although we have no way of knowing just how involved JM was in the process of writing this song (did he ask for a love song? Did he give ideas to insert into the song, like destiny, not being a coincidence, the cat?), but at the end of the day, JM ‘owns’ the song, believes in what he is singing.  When he talks about the song you can feel the emotional personal connection he has with the song.  This is his song,  and he sings it for JK.  And JK knows this is Jimin’s gift to him.

JK’s reaction when JM says Serendipity is his favourite song.  So cute. The thing with this one is that you could easily overlook it or not read too much into it. Only Suga’s reaction here is the tell all.  

At the point that JK is acting all shy and smiley to himself, Suga moves closer to him, whispering “Jungkookah”, something that brings on a change to JK’s entire facial expression.  There’s even a slight head nod from Suga when JK wipes the smile off his face.  

Suga hinting to JK not to be so obvious, only made it more obvious.  I also noticed that just before JM starts singing Serendipity, just after he was asked what his favourite song from the album is, JK looks sideways to Suga, as if he knows he isn’t supposed to react too obviously – looks a bit like little JK might have been scolded or reigned in prior to the live broadcast.    Remember that this is really quite a short time after the song’s release, so JK’s excitement, happiness, is still really fresh.  The song is for him, and it’s JM’s favourite...

I am not going to analyse the MV, but there are many who have done so before me.  Was JM involved in the planning and did he have any input to the choices made?  Idk.  There is a similarity to the motif of the DNA MV. Is it a coincidence that the dominant colour used is JK’s favourite colour? Who knows. But doesn’t the song say “all of this is not a coincidence”?

Add to that JM starting to use the paw print emoji by JK’s name on Twitter?  A coincidence? Mmm… interesting.

From this point on it is clear that ��you are me, I am you” is a JM and JK thing. 

21 September 2017 BTS comeback show.  JK was in charge of putting together each of the members DNA.  Very enjoyable.  But why did JM have to mention again that JK comes to their room to sleep?  Also, how does JK know that JM doesn’t wake up Hobi when he is playing games late at night?  JM telling us how he now learnt how to play games – then what games was JM good last year (re: Vlive 22 April 2017)?

22 September 2017 Love Yourself fan sign– JM singing Serendipity, JK joining in.  How happy JM looks when JK sings “just let me love you” with him all while making eye contact with each other at that point. The way JM looks at JK while singing the song.  Singing to him.  

Still think Serendipity is not JK and JM’s song?

They have a way of looking at one another that sometimes make me feel like I’m intruding on a very intimate moment.

24 September 2017 SBS Inkigayo Super concert – found it!!!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fb-_jkdxgh4 start watching at 3.36min.

This is the one I remembered, where JM, saw the need to grab JK’s butt, run his hand up and down his back side, right through the crack, repeatedly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7fv0CaQT9M start watching 11:30min , JM walks to his place past JK, lightly brushing his hand against JK.  

When I mention the brushes or light touches – this is what I mean (see attached photos).   Obviously, there will be those who say it wasn’t intentional, that he was walking by him and didn’t mean to touch him.  I say bollox to that (excuse the language).  

First, there was plenty of room not to walk so close to JK.  Second, if you notice, he circles JK only to make it back to the same actual side he was on to begin with.  All he had to do was back up, just like JK did, and not circle JK to make it to his place on stage.  Third, to me it looks as if he was aiming to touch JK’s hand, only it was too high up.

Another one I was looking for.  I have seen this moment and wasn’t sure where or when it was from.  This is one of those clips Jikook’s use to show Jimin being jealous, and to be honest, first time I saw it it made me wonder too.  But watching it again and again, I have come to the conclusion that that wasn’t the issue.  

To me this is more JM being protective than JM being Jealous.  Setting the boundaries for V when it comes to JK, and it is something we see with JM more than once.  

JM wasn’t happy.  V wasn’t happy.  Boundaries were set.

Tipsy JK must be a Jikooker. His guard is down, inhibitions are gone and he becomes really chatty and tends to say and do things that he most likely regrets later on.  We didn’t see the members drink what seemed to be alcohol, but the vibe I got from JK’s talkativeness and behaviour during the live was that he was tipsy.  Not outright drunk, but tipsy.

To the fan’s request to show his abs, JK starts checking himself out, looking under his T-shirt, only to be scolded by JM to keep it to himself.  This is also the first time we hear him Jikooking, talking about eating with Jin and JM, referring to them as Jin-jikook, and then turning to JM, while the others try to call them by another name (I wonder why…).  Did I not say tipsy JK is a Jikooker???

3 October 2017 Run BTS episode 22.  https://www.vlive.tv/video/43438 start 7.00min.

JM turns to JK asking him to vote for him.  The softness in JM’s voice when he asks him acting all coquettish.  The way JM approached JK and the way he spoke to him, that’s not the way someone talks to his mate, or to his ‘brother’.

There was a softness in the approach to JK.  coquettish is the only way I can describe it.

12 October 2017 BTS countdown. Can be found on Dailymotion. 

All JM had to say was one word – Jungkookah and JK, surprisingly (not) chose him.  The look of joy on their faces at that point.  And again the editors with the heart emoji effects.  Uhm… 

JM and JK’s team was the team chosen by the fans, and guess what song they both choose to sing, as JM piggy backed JK? Their song obviously… Serendipity.  

And yet again, JM gets to tell us JK comes to his room to sleep.  We hear you JM.  We hear you.

JM gets flowers sent from his father.  J-Hope and Suga pretend JM’s dad has arrived to surprise JM, Suga pointing and saying he saw him.  JK slowly backs up, shocked and alarmed smile on his face, trying to move behind RM.  Then the boys start laughing.  

Now, why do I think this is a moment worthy of my timeline?  Well, when the boys start laughing, revealing it was a joke, the one Suga points at, laughingly, is JK.  

The whole thing feels like a joke on JK, not JM.  JK is the one being teased.   Why would JK be so stressed out from JM’s dad being there?  And why would the boys be teasing him like that? Hm…

The funny thing is that the camera is on JK and Suga, not on JM, who was supposedly just told his father was there. That feels slightly strange to me. Wouldn’t they want to catch JM’s reaction? Not JK’s?

28-30 October 2017 JK and JM Tokyo trip together.  This trip was long anticipated by JM.  He had been looking forward for his trip with JK for a long time.  It was a private trip planned and paid for by JK as a gift for JM.  What we know about the trip is mostly what they tell us in retrospect.  

Saying that, this was truly a memorable trip for them both, and they both can’t seem to shut up about it, talking about it at any possible moment.  JK telling us how JM stayed up (only JM?) until 5 am, so they both woke up at 12pm and missed out on plans they had for the morning, JM tells how they went shopping in Harajuku, how during their trip was the longest walk they took, referring to their trip during interviews.  As I mentioned – a memorable trip.  

31 October 2017 - When returning from the trip JM posts a selca/selfie.  I know I said I won’t be doing this, but rules are sometimes meant to be broken, and this specific selca is gorgeous, so…

Both acting cute together. For some reason, they are the only ones that are paired for the one on one interviews, when Suga, Jin and Hobi were all interviewed by themselves. 

 Felt like JM and inhibitions were strangers during the group interview.  

Not really sure what JM was searching for in JK’s thigh during the group interview (when V was talking) – tupping, fingering and squeezing JK’s thigh.  And yet again RM and J-Hope’s reactions to die for.  Hobi eyes on the action throughout the whole episode, and RM when he notices, I would pay a lot of money to know what was going through his head at that point.  My educated guess is: “God, please get me out of here, why did I agree to be the leader????” LOL.

Then when asked what their impressions were when coming to the dome, JM tells how JK was crying, all while caressing JK’s ear.  JK tells how he was emotional, and they look at each other.  All the while, RM’s face when JM touches JK’s ear, only to continue to place his hands on their shoulders respectively.

JM continues to surprise, telling viewers to anticipate for JK’s sweat.  The minute he says that, RM turns to look towards Suga, the vibe I get is: “god, please help me here…”.  

Then JM goes on to tell us how in his opinion JK’s sweat is beautiful, Holy water.  What???? J-hope repeats JM’s Holy water, then glances for just a second towards RM and looks down nervously – great save Hobi.

The group interview was shot on JM’s birthday.  Maybe that had something to do with his good un-inhibited mood.

8 November 2017 – GCF in Tokyo - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrTNLkqGrlc  .

While the Tokyo trip was JK’s birthday gift or JM.  GCF Tokyo is JK’s love ode to JM.

This is not an analysis of GCFT, but I do have a few words to say on the matter. Explain why in my eyes this is a JK’s love ode to JM.  

This video was filmed and edited by JK, and JK alone.  It supposedly documents their trip together.  It was his choice and his alone to edit and publish this video and did so to JM’s surprise.  

In the video to start with, he lets us know that it’s the two of them, but from there on, other than seeing JK through the mirrors in the elevator while he is filming JM, the one we mostly see is JM.  JM smiling, JM goofing around, JM eating, JM enjoying himself on the Tea Cup ride at Disneyland, JM walking, JM dancing, and as a whole just JM having the time of his life. For a video that is documenting a trip to Tokyo, there is not too much of Tokyo we get to see.  

The end credits name JK as the photographer, director and editor, while naming JM as the actor.  

There is a strong romantic vibe to the video.  

JK’s editing choices, including his music choice for the video are well thought out.  His choice to edit to the beat of the song.  All cleverly thought out to accentuate both the footage and the lyrics of the song he chose:  ‘There for you’ by Troye Sivan and Martin Garrix.  

JM told us already: “this is not a coincidence”.  

The level of preparation from JK, acquiring the rights to use the song, the amount of time it took to go over the footage and edit the video, all while managing to do that will a full working schedule (working throughout the night). This was clearly something big for him.  His joy and pride when it was uploaded to Youtube, clearly showed, him smiley and dancing.

2 days prior to GCFT, on 6 November 2017, JM published his short clip of the trip.  JM too took the time to edit a cute footage of the trip, documenting both of them having fun. Putting them both side by side only emphasizes the difference and showcases just how much GCFT was all about JM, being JK’s love ode to JM.

What made you like Jimin individually and Taehyung individually ? And do you have a slight preference between the two ?

I love all the members so much, and for me picking a bias is still kind of difficult. I have concluded that I do bias both Jimin and Tae but kind of switch between them at different times for different reasons. As for a bias wrecker I legit cannot choose and it changes all the time.

The way I got into BTS was through the BST MV and then trying to learn the members (the first one I learned and checked up on was Namjoon). I also got fascinated by the BU storyline as storytelling and analysis/reviews is a big hobby of mine (the fandoms I’ve been in are many, and character/story analyses/reviews/theories are something I have engaged in a lot). 

On top of that I work in the media industry and have an interest for visual storytelling as well and I got hooked by the concepts, the beautiful MV and the both story-based and symbolical clues they left. I also loved their music and like groups in general because of the interesting vocal dynamics you can create.  Basically, BTS managed to hit all my buttons and I had to look up more.

Mind you, I barely knew the members' names properly and I was already investigating the meaning of their MV and storyline. I listened to their album and loved the songs before I could tell which member was who. (Both Awake and First love made me cry without even knowing the lyrics).  I also have to mention how much I love both of Vmin’s voices, who are both very unique and interesting. I basically biased their voices before I knew who they were. (Fun or sad fact but I am really bad with faces and actually learned the members' singing voices before their faces.)

Let’s just say that I got into the music and visuals/concept first, and then started to consume material to get to know the members. They all also had incredible chemistry between each other and reminded me a lot of one of my favorite j-pop groups with their dynamics. 

What I started to watch was “get to know them” videos and recent interviews and clips, meaning from BST era. It was hard for me to not notice Jimin (even though vocal line were the ones I had the hardest time separating from each other in the very beginning). And perhaps even more so since the introduction videos tended to have a lot better and varied things to say about Jimin amongst vocal line. But even on his own Jimin simply stood out to me during the BST era when I joined. He took a lot of space in the group as a performer (especially with his high notes, his dancing, his hair and his outfits all combined) but also as an individual in off stage material. I fell for his voice and performance and the “Jimin effect” was hitting me hard. 

I also related to him a lot. I am a sort of clingy but shy person who is a perfectionist and likes being in control. I also thought he was both cute and funny without being too over the top with things like aegyo (I mean, we all know he is horrible at it when he tries to do it on purpose). I think the way Jimin is so open (though private) makes him easy to understand and relate to. He has a lot of different moods and there is an honesty in how much he shows us even though he clearly still remained in control.

As time went by, I found myself focusing on Jimin more than the other members and I realized my bias. I was simply drawn to him more than the others from the start. That in turn brings me to Taehyung... Because honestly, at the time it was impossible not to notice their closeness. And looking up a lot of old material, where Jimin was there was also Taehyung. They were very clingy and had a lot of cute interactions. One of the first things I watched of their more off-stage material was also Bon Voyage in Scandinavia (being from there myself I was extra curious) and the Vmin moments in there just cemented their bond for me.

I am not saying I only appreciate Tae for ship reasons, simply that Vmin got my attention early on and that did make me focus more on Taehyung as well. I thought as many that he was a bit odd, but very funny and playful, that he was incredibly good-looking (my opinion from the start was that JK and Tae were the most good-looking) but also a bit difficult to read. Taehyung made me want to understand him, and I was interested in him for quite different reasons than how I related to Jimin. I love him for his way of thinking and how he seems to have this innocence or happiness in the small things about him. Like, Tae getting lost in Sweden but still being happy about the small adventure, enjoying himself and stopping to blow on a dandelion might just be one of the most endearing things I have ever seen. (Honestly, another point I relate to Jimin on so much is his love for Tae and how he just makes us smile no matter what he does.)

Of course, as they change and as I get to watch them more, the more I find to love and appreciate (as well as flaws of course) and now I would say all the members are just very precious to me and I love them both for who they are on their own and for their bond as a group. It is impressive and not to be understated how rare it is to find a bond like theirs. I have seen many groups, and few are as compatible as BTS, and few seem to truly love each other the way they do.

But as for bias it will likely always be Jimin and Taehyung unless there is some drastic change.

For Jimin I love the way he dances while controlling every fiber of his body, the way he pours love into all his relationships but isn’t afraid to call people out, the way he keeps getting funnier (I think Jimin’s sense of humor is so underrated), the way he acts like an angel but actually has the whole world fooled (and he knows it), the way he shows his emotions so animatedly no matter if he gets annoyed or laughs with his whole body, the way he knows his principles and stands his ground when he believes in something, the way he works so hard to improve and better himself both as a performer and as a human, the way he thinks about things deeply and is so eloquent with how to express it, the way he is there for both ARMY, his members and even strangers because he is empathic to his core. There is a lot to love with Jimin, and he always makes sure to return that love when deserved.

For Taehyung I love the way he stand against the norms, the way he shows it’s ok to be different and embrace himself and others without judgement, the way he almost plays with us when he performs, the way he sings with such emotion and how he loves to express himself through all kinds of art forms, the way he learns and take in valid criticism but isn’t afraid to call bullshit, the way he knows when to be serious but also the importance of having fun, the way he is both the biggest dork and a fierce performer at once (I mean he can be so unapologetically silly and then suddenly switch to lethal seduction), the way his unique way of thinking opens up to new points of view, the way he can’t help but show his excitement or love for something and wants to share it with the people around him. He goes all out when he loves something and doesn’t hide his opinions when he doesn’t. Taehyung is just a very honest (though perfectly capable of lying and fooling us thank you very much) and incredible person that I both admire and adore.

There is just so much, and even small things get to me, like don’t get me started on their smiles, or even just their habits when they laugh... (how Tae usually laughs quietly but once in a while will let out these light giggles, or the way Jimin seem to automatically covers his face when he laughs).

I love them both to death (as all the members). It is not easy to just sit down and pour years of love into words, but I tried. I love them both as singers, performers, artists, and humans. I also love them as soulmates and how much they both just spread love and positivity to the people around them. The impact they have had on me, and surely many of you, is hard to comprehend. I am so lucky and happy that I decided to become a fan of this wonderful group and these wonderful people.

Phew, that was a lot wasn’t it? All opinion based, probably a bit hard to understand and not very well structured either. This is all just a flow of consciousness, and I likely forgot to mention a lot of things I could have said. Even so I hope you found it a nice read. :) Thank you for the ask.

The Freedom of Expression - Episode 46 The filming for the Dir en grey Real Avatar music video.

K: Hi, this is Dir en grey's Kaoru with this episode, uh, this week's episode of the Freedom of Expression. Joe san, Tasai san...it feels like a while since we were last here.

J, T: Yeah.

K: We've been on location, plus last time we filmed 4 episodes at once. Quite a while has passed since then.

T: It has.

J: Nothing new with you?

K: No, nothing.

T: Hahaha

J: Tokyo Sports seems pretty busy..

T: Yeah, I watched you two recently...on Niconama.

J: Ah, yeh. You wrote an article, thanks for that.

T: I was a bit envious while working on it.

J: Yeh, but what about that Tokyo Sports hoodie? How is it doing?

T: Yeah, it looks like its selling.

J: Right.

T: Thanks to you two.

J: No, no, its thanks to Kaoru, but..

K: No, no, its nothing.

J: You gotta make something else for round two.

T: Yeah, there might be a T-shirt collaboration in the works.

K: Ehh? Im looking forward to that.

J: Eventually we'll have like a The Freedom of Expression x Tokyo Sports collaboration set?

T: Yeh, and we could sell that, then go to Okinawa.

J: Go to Okinawa? Haha.

K: Hahaha.

J: Our plan is steadily progressing that far..

J: Got it! This is happy news, the news that Dir en grey will screen an avatar music video. Dir en grey will reveal a new music video on New Years Eve from 11:00pm, which includes avatar characters created using 3D scans of the members. The Explosion screenings of 'The World You Live In', have been sold out. So an encore entitled 'The World You Live In - additional' will be held on New Years Eve as an online broadcast. As well as a special talk event with the members, a music video with real avatar characters, made by 3D scanning each member, will be screened. Kaoru?

K: Thank you

J: This is good news, isn't it?

K: So as a rule, we always broadcast this show on Friday, but we've made it a bit irregular this time in order to talk about this. Well, of course, I've seen it already.

J: Have you? What was it like?

K: Well, first of all, as for the filming, we did our make up and costume etc, and had cameras surrounding us 360°. We filmed it there first, and then in a different studio, we put on clothes that had pointers all over them, and I played air guitar...

J: Ah, you performed.

K: And then we took photos seperately.

J: It sounds like hard work, was it?

K: Not really, it was over quite quickly.

J: Really?

K: For the photo shoot in full dress it was like, 'flash..flash..Ok, finished'. It felt like a waste of all the make up I was wearing. Like, 'Isn't there anything else?' haha.

J: Ah, if only you could've have done more...But when you were finished with all that, they made it into a moving person?

K: Well, yeh, it has the kind of atmosphere as if its in a game.

J, T: Ehh?

T: What are the facial expressions like?

K: It wasn't possible to go as far as making different facial expressions. Well, i mean, you could do that if you had the time, but we didn't...

J: This time you didn't go that far? But its the first time for Dir to try this kind of thing, right?

K: Yeah.

J: Was there any kind of catalyst that made you think, 'Lets do this'?

K: Well, there was a kind offer saying like, 'We can do this kind of thing'..

J: A suggestion came, and you decided to give it a go?

K: Yeah, thats it, kinda like that.

J, T: Ahhh.

J: You know, this is...

T: It looks interesting.

J: Its exciting, right?

K: When I was playing, there was a pointer right in the position that I usually hold my guitar, so they asked me if I could change the position.

J: Ah, the the postion you play the guitar?

K: Yeah. They tried to help me change the position, but it was still interfering, so I ended up playing up here at chest level, which would nomally be impossible, haha.

T: Hahaha

J: Pretty high up, its not very Kaoru style, is it?

K: I think it'll be a sight to see.

T, J: Hahaha.

K: Its soo high up! Haha

T, J: Hahaha.

J: By the way, are you influenced by anyone in particular as to the position in which you hold your guitar?

K: No, its just the best position I can play in, based on the size of my guitar.

J: Ah, I see. But somehow you ended up playing up here while filming this mv?

K: Yeah, well..I had to raise the position a bit.

J: Ahh, did the other members have to change anything?

K: No

J: Just you? Because it got in the way of the pointers?

K: Yeah.

J: Ahh, really? Die always plays quite low down doesn't he?

K: Yeah, he does. When we first put on all those pointers and mimicked playing the instruments, it came up on screen as just like moving lines. Even just looking at that, I could tell it was Die straight away.

J, T: Ehhh.

K: The shape on screen looked just like Die.

T: Thats pretty interesting.

J: He's very characteristic, isn't he? How do you film the drums? With pointers on them?

K: Haha, pretty tough, right? We had to use a photo of the drums and stick them on.

J: It seems like drums would be the most difficult to play by air. Or was it not that bad?

K: Well, if the positions of the pointers were set then...

K: Ahh, and it was over very quickly?

K: Yes　

J: And you were holding your guitar up here? I say that, but I don't know how good it looks *1, haha. Well, if i had to choose, playing it lower down probably seems cooler. There was a lot of people in the 90s playing guitar like that, right? Punks and stuff. They played it quite low down. There isn't anyone who plays it up high, is there?

K: No, not really.

J: How about actually holding it like that, Kaoru?

K: It would be pretty difficult to play.

J: It could be the 'Kaoru position'.

T: Haha.

J: The cool position!

T: Haha

K: Yeah.

J: Im looking forward to this.

T: The song is the new single 'Ochita koto no aru sora'?

K: Yeah.

J: Are you gonna test this out once and see the reaction, then maybe do more?

K: I think it would be interesting if we could spend a bit more time on it, and brush up the backgrounds and stuff.

J: You might be able to make new creations using only this. I am looking forward to this.

T: The broadcast will start at 23:00, ohh so its gonna be on as the year changes.

J: Yes.

K: First we'll show the same footage that was in the explosion screening, and then after the year changes we'll appear, and then play this mv.

J: Ah, I see.

K: During the live broadcast with the members, we'll play this. And then we'll kinda talk a bit.

J: I see.

T: This is a great way to bring in the new year for the people watching.

J: Right? There wasn't much good news in.2020, so they will really appreciate this piece of hope appearing at the end of the year. They'll be looking out for the postion of the guitars!

T: The same position as ???*2

J: Thats it.

Quick first thoughts on the first ep of the Hypmic Anime. Spoilers beware (and im writing this as I watch so :p)

Otome’s speech is.... questionable from a persuasive point of view. Manga did a great job of introducing her (which you can read here) but they really cut out the more terrifying parts of her speech and how she uses force to show people that she's not to be messed with

Its cool seeing everyone in their respective environments though. thats cool. Though they could have added Sasara and Kuuko (shhh i know why they didn’t let me dream)

I love how poppy the typography is. Its amazing how the visuals just leap out at you. The OP does a great job of this. The first few seconds before the title really gives me Persona 4 OG OP vibes with the influx of information given. The rest is a clear concise and streamlined way that still gives character. Animation is sparse but still carries across a general idea of each character and shows off each character object. Rendering is really nice and pays a bit of homage to the posing artwork thats done for the MVs. They also do their division hand signals and thats cute

Love how the OP has blatant HifuDoppo and DRB matchup foreshadowing

so far I really like what theyre going for. BB is about brotherly familial bonds and they show the goods and the bads. Jiro and Saburo bickering right out the gate really cements the fact that they get along like cats and dogs but you can still see that they love each other, working together when the situation calls for it

Now the 3d models. Theyre... not great but usable if you don’t look too hard. They serve their purpose and don’t actively detract from the viewing experience.

Visual typography in the rap itself are fun and poppy but they dont.... speak to me? like theyre there yes and I appreciate them but the only ones that got me excited were from Ichiro’s rap

I love how they interpret the Hypnosis Speakers though. Esp. Saburo’s organs. That was super creative and I love it! If there was one thing that I felt was missing from the franchise was a deeper exploration of the speakers but the anime puts a new and fresh spin on it! Love it, especially with their attack patterns!

If the production team ever feels inclined to, Id love to see those info sheets on Otome’s desk released. There seems to be very interesting info and stats written out about each member (like capabilities, personal status etc.) They all seem unique too so I really really really hope they release images of those sheets

OOOOOOOOKAY MTC. I have such a big biased for them so Im very torn to see what unfolds

Rio striking out on his own is interesting. Out of everyone in MTC hes the biggest team player yet here he trusts his teammates to go ahead. This either displays Rio’s willingness to trust his teammates or it becomes very OOC if the anime wants to set him up as a lone wolf like character

I love how they specify its a drug deal. It means that Jyuto surely will show up and it also shows that Samatoki knows Jyuto’s motives and willingly gives black market info that he knows aligns with Jyuto’s goal. Thats A+ detail writing there and a great establishing characteristic for both of them

OOohhhhhhhhhhhhh man Asunama-san’s voice acting is god tier his work as Samatoki is phenomenal. He pulls of Samatoki’s threatening voice so well with those almost calm words before his voice becomes loud and confrontational. Those rolling syllables in contrast to Komada-san’s almost lyrical and airy speech and Kamio-san’s strict and enunciated words is such a delight to hear. It just speaks to how amazing and great these Seiyuu’s are in order to pull of such amazing work

Im so biased but MTC has such a better rap than BB im so sorry. Just by watching Samatoki’s part, the imagery is amazing. Even the arrival of his Hypnosis Speaker was awesome and sent a shiver down my spine. using the lyrics to form blades and blood was such a great thing to do. Theres so much more variety that just him standing there and shots of his hypnosis speaker. The old fashioned vignette shots, the four panel spread, the nods to old Kurosawa era films are great and I love these small details. Even the typography looks better.

Again, the interpretations with the speakers is fresh and new. Its great and I love the different imagery and attack patterns. Each one is so unique but carries across each different style of rap.

The 3d modles aren’t any better tho lol

(Hi this is Astro who is reading over their assessment again and making a note. Yeah I’m a bit harsh on BB’s rap. I’m not going to change it since I still stand by it and this post is supposed to be a documentation of my first impressions. I think one of the reasons why I’m so harsh on BB is because of their dynamic as a trio of brothers. They Have to have a more uniform approach than the other divisions. Which in of itself isn’t a terrible thing, it just doesn’t catch my eye as much as MTC did. Thats all! I definitely don’t hate BB, they’re maybe my 3rd favorite division out of the current lineup [not including TDD era teams like Kujaku Posse, MCD, and Naughty Busters] its just that their rap was pretty meh)

Samatoki crouching like a real gangstar and the cigarette kiss killed me

sadjkhfjkasdghsadjkcsdjhsdfsjhf im dying i love these trio of dumbasses so uch oh y fod someone save me aaaaaaaa (Astro note here! yeah i died when the jyuto and samatoki’s stomach growled im weak please. Samatoki’s face is just so precious and funny I might set it as a profile pic somewhere)

But also my initial assessment of Rio possibly being characterized as a lone wolf is very much jossed and im very thankful for that. It seems that Rio was simply trusting his teammates to carry out their part of the plan while he carried out his own. I like that, it really shows how much of a team these three are and that they genuinely trust each other. He’s also comfortable enough around them to invite them to dinners after work casually and not just for special occasions.

I really love MTC guys

Oooh! we get Ramuda on his design process which is really cute. the inside of his studio is super cute and retro and i love it. the poppy old music you would hear in a cafe or 90′s resturaunt is also really cute (astro note: yeah i know that in ARB you see the interior of Ramuda’s office but its kinda different seeing it animated)

the translation i have has gentaro speaking in early modern english (Shakespearian english for those who aren’t english nerds like me) but from what I can hear, he doesn’t speak in a particularly old fashioned way? Its more formal than old? and hes speaking without any of his character persona lying thing that he likes to do (as he refers to himself as “Shousei” throughout the segment where hes in Ramuda’s office which is kind of his default pronoun of choice). so its kinda odd for the translation to go in that direction but im not complaining

Gendice banter is gold but it feels... flat? a little? it doesn’t have the same impact as in the drama cds or in the manga? i feel? Also Ramuda using gratuitous english is??? idk how to feel about that

kjshf thats against the rules Ramuda omgggg,,,,,,,, (astro note again: while watching i was under the assumption that using your hypmic for monetary gain such a as buskering [which is what FP is doing] is against the rules. May not be the case but whatever)

FP’s rap might be my favorite in terms of tune and lyrics though. It’s a nice laid back bop and really gives of chill vibes. the integration of 3d and 2d is really nice and i love how they play off each other in the rap. The wordplay is so fun with little nods here and there and the beat is poppy too so it really energizes me.

Ramuda’s rap concerns me slightly since he makes very subtle and small nods towards his past (being created in a laboratory, warfare, and his overall very unpleasant life experiences) but spins it into something cutesy. It could be a coping mechanism, it could be me overthinking it. But it does make me worry a bit. Gentaro and Dice’s rap really play off each other with Gentaro sticking to stories and Dice taking up the baton by carrying on that same imagery but putting his own spin on it.

the self awareness of how scattered they are as a team is interesting though. It doesn’t seem like something you’d speak about in a rap? but i guess since its not really a do or die situation they can afford to be looser on things like this.

Right off the bat, i don’t like how they handled Hifumi and Doppo in relation to Hifumi’s fear of women. Slug made a post once talking about this and I echo many of his sentiments. Hypmic has never been very tactful about tackling this particular issue and while I didn’t have high hopes that the anime would be any better it hurts to see Doppo take away the one thing that allows Hifumi to function within society.

Doppo’s breakdown mirrors a lot of my own mental state when I spiral though its shown a lot quicker than what happens to me oof. that hits close to home. though Jakurai’s advice is. Questionable. Its not the best advice to give to someone but we have no idea what kind of doctor Jakurai is so ill let it slide

Jakurai’s pose looks like hes going to do a mahou shoujou transformation lmao

I don’t have many thoughts about the rap though again. How they visualize the rap is interesting. the different imagery is quite interesting for each of them and the typography is nice a distinct but im still on the fence about the visuals here

The sound is in the same boat. The sound effects either drown out the rap or are too quet but some parts are nice at least. When they talk about Tokyo’s beating heart, the heartbeat sound is a but distracting especially since its only played once. But the imagery is at least nice

I wonder if for the eds they’re going to take a similar approach to what Enstars did and have a four different endings, one for each division. I love the blend of styles here and it really accentuates that although they’re different they mesh well together.

Ramuda’s silhouette though is hilarious. Love it.

:p and thats it. Uh not bad for a first episode. Established all 12 characters really nicely and their dynamics. I had some problems with it but then again nothing is perfect. I look forward to what they show us next week

ONF - New World (Performance MV)

The last one. Ahhh, when I first committed to watching RTK, I wasn't sure what to expect and I didn't know anything about the other groups. I'd seen TBZ's Reveal (Catching Fire) which lured me in and I'm grateful for it because I got to see all the other amazing performances everyone pulled off. Beyond just the performances, it was really heartwarming to get little glimpses of the hard work everyone puts into each stage and how they're always supporting each other, within their own teams and outside of it. I would definitely recommend watching RTK if you're interested in getting into any of the groups featured, and even if not I would still recommend watching the performances because they're all so unique in their arrangements and stages. It's the kind of thing that can only happen on a competition show.

Thanks for putting up with all my ranting and know that I love you if you've read all my different thought posts. I hope you all look forward to Kingdom: Legendary War as well, it's gonna be HYPE!

Alright dudes let's get down to it.

Admittedly I did not love ONF for a lot of RTK. They're a great group, but I felt like their stages didn't favor the same kind of theatricality other groups had. And when they were ranked highly for We Must Love + Moscow Moscow (2nd round, My Song) stage, I was frankly a little miffed.

I adored their stage for It's Raining though, and all throughout RTK even if I didn't love them I still thought they were wonderful. Their reactions were so entertaining to watch and their stages were all fun and well executed.

I struggled watching New World a bit because I couldn't get over the fact they went back to more simple performances when It's Raining had been so elaborate.

The performance MV for New World is amazing. I understand the live performance had to be filmed indoors and that because it's indoors and because the stage is black and the stairs are black and the bleachers are black, the impact is different. But I'm really sad about that because the open air film location they did for the performance MV fit the song's vibes so much better. The kind of controlled sunlight, the open air lattices of the building they were standing on, the contrast between the dark outfits the members had and the bright cream of the building's plaster. All of those contributed to such a different vibe for the song, which is so bright and fun.

The opening to the light performance is a short film, similar to ONEUS and Pentagon. I'm not too sure about this but it seems to start with fast cuts from their previous MVs? And then slows down marginally to give a bit of storyline that seems to be a combination of pre and post apocalypse/societal collapse in a fantasy/cyberpunk mix world? Yeah, I dunno I've watched it 4 times and that's the best I could come up with. Especially because the ending shot is several very large meteors crashing through the atmosphere and like, those are pretty deadly so...?

In the pre-performance bit with the ONF members, they had discussed a theme of Pandora's box. Most people know that Pandora's box is a symbol of curses and tragedy, often tied to themes of humanity's greed versus humanity's innocence in listening to the gods. On opening the box, all the diseases and negativity inside flooded out to torment humanity but Hope remains in the box to allow humanity to maintain light in the darkness, and only humanity can give up hope.

NGL I was really excited to see how they would execute that theme. But then?? They kind of treated the box as a time capsule? I could kind of see it like them put their hopes into the box, which is an interesting twist on the tale of Pandora's box but also Confusion because that's definitely not the theme of that story. I kind of let it go though, because maybe they were just borrowing inspiration from the story and not actually trying to represent it.

Moving onto the actual performance and song. The intro is so intense! It's a really interesting fit because the rest of the song is way more dance upbeat/electric. But as far as openings go, pretty impactful and very pleasing to watch the ripple effect with the backup dancers down the aisle.

Again with the colorful flashing lights. Cool? Yes. Contributing to the aesthetic? Not particularly. Productive to the storyline? No. Part of the performance? Yes. Shruggy on this one, I don't really have anything to add that I haven't mentioned in previous commentaries.

I do really like the song though. Just as a piece of music, it's so fun to listen to and has definitely joined the ranks of my usual kpop bops. The kind of light, fast electro beat is something to jam to. Wyatt's voice is just so good, especially as part of the pre-chorus. The contrast makes it delightful to go from verse one to chorus. The lyrics and message of the song are really well thought out and executed as well, talking about reaching a better world and turning away from hurting each other/the environment/generally being hurtful.

OKAY. So this part is actually something I really adored: the sort of robotic formation. Wherein the members stand in the center of several backup dancers who seem to place on pieces or armor or something onto the member's limbs. A very clean cut, fast paced dance sequence that really strongly reminded me of early iron man scenes in which the different parts of armor were installed on the body. Also lowkey reminiscent of magical girl transformation hahahaha. But it's done so cleanly and while the camera angles make it hard to focus, it's still such a treat to watch. AND THEN. The members come up to the shoulders of the backup dancers and for Wyatt's lines, they're just!! In control! If y'all have watched power rangers or Gundam or Aquarion or Neon Evangelion or like, any of those then you know what I'm talking about, in which the human character slides into some massive machine and controls them from the inside to fight monsters (kaiju) and stuff. And the next bit with J-US and the hands! Creative, interesting imagery, just a complete delight to watch. It's just sooooo fun and I love that for ONF, I really do.

I genuinely think that their theme doesn't make much sense without the context of the lyrics and even then it still feels clunky and sort of inspired by rather than actually embodying the concept. So I'd dock point for them for that personally because I think that when themes are introduced and performed, they should show up as more than just a simple prop. But also I acknowledge that dance and musical performances like this (not musicals) aren't necessarily intended to be storytelling, especially in 4th gen kpop. I do like their theme with the keys and opening, I feel like the performance would have been enhanced if instead of using pandora's box, they choose to use the gateway to the new world. A bit on the nose but a lot more impactful with the key turning bit after the second chorus.

On the key turning bit with the weird holographic box: Dude. Those backup dancers? So clean. Nice stiff steps that feel very robotic which goes wonderfully with the costumes. The keys they each take actually read RTK ONF if you go clockwise from the left (MK). Just a neato little fact. Attention to detail is so good. And the timing of the key turns, of course it was gonna be to the beat but like still! Satisfying af.

Why Wyatt grabs the box and slams it to the ground I don't know. Maybe it has to do with the line dive into new world.

The high notes. Again. Literally just. What the fuck guys, they're so good. I'm gonna cry. The stability, the pitch, just. (sobbing)

The LED screen in the back is interesting? Is it supposed to be a door into the new world? Probably?

Dance break!! Guitar solo!! The door tradition into the weird stripey LED screens that just feels so chaotic and kinda like I'm going through a movie warp portal. Somehow when combined together it all works lmao??

I love the bridge. There's no reason for it, I just love Wyatt's fast paced lines and the kind of dun dun dun fast tempo beat tapping.

The ending of running away from the camera, towards the little cliffs and the LED screen was a good choice because the last lines refer to how they'll never stop as long as they're alive. Not the most impactful ending but definitely satisfying given the song's lyrics and meaning. Again, that lack of pandora's box kind of haunts me?

Overall if I consider this ONF performance compared to their others it doesn't feel quite as thought out and executed. Similar to their We Must Love + Moscow Moscow performance where I couldn't really see the marionette theme, I couldn't really understand the idea of Pandora's box in this performance and I really wish they had chosen perhaps a gateway to the new world or some other theme instead because it would fit much better. It's also a little lackluster compared to the performance MV that had a lot of contrast which created more focus and contributed more to the atmosphere of the performance.

Still, as a performance on it's own, it does pretty well and I'm really happy for ONF to have performed it. Thank you RTK for introducing me to this song and to ONF in general, I hope they continue to release some really good stuff.

After a ~315 day drought without new music and a comeback from the legends, we are finally back with MOTS: 7! It been a hot minute since ive done a album review (solely for myself LMAO) so lets get back into it bc this album is a home run

Interlude: Shadow. Here we have the extended version of the interlude. can i just say that the lyrics to this masterpiece are so real and true. its not suga speaking nor is it agust d, this is min yoongi speaking of his internal conflict with the celebrity life, which is heartbreaking. on another note, the visuals of the mv are stunning and the ending--dont u just wanna go apeshit??? truly a great addition to the album!

Black Swan. sister black swan has been with us for a month-ish now? it still bumps. HARD. i blasted this to and from my drive to work to the point where i was scared if id get sick of the song but that didnt happen. the way how its hard to pinpoint when and where a member would sing/rap because they INTENTIONALLY wanted the voices to blend as if they were one body. this is the group’s narrative on how no matter how passionate one is on a certain craft, when they lose that drive, its like a death. and it is up to themselves to spark that love and interest once again. a very relatable story across various media, talents, skills, etc.

Filter. When I first heard that this was a jimin solo showcasing the many sides of Jimin, i thought that it was going to be a sad ballad to kind of follow the theme mots: 7 seemed to give off; thought that it would talk about how he has to force personas onto himself to appeal to the masses, but it is the complete opposite. Jimin is all the faces he puts on, he can be cute, sweet, and caring Jimin but he is also a sexy, flirty young man that can attract any living being. how he switches from falsettos to a lower register voice is beyond me, what a versatile one he is! <3

My Time. Moving onto jungkook’s solo, I knew the lyrics were going to be sad especially when it seems to compare himself to others his age. How he speaks about how fast time runs for him, how his childhood and current life is not of the average 22 year old (LIKE UM HERE I AM, SAME AGE AS JUNGKOOK AND IM NORMAL AF while he’s out here breaking records?? WOW). but the life of jungoo can be a bit overwhelming, completely understandable. I just want our boi JK to know that he can be himself and live freely despite such different circumstances. On another note, the groove of this track is so GOOD. it reminds me of Ari and ugh i LIVE for this jam

Louder Than Bombs. When the track started, I could totally tell Troye Sivan helped produce it, it has such a unique sound that only Troye would use. It sounds like this song would totally be on a movie soundtrack IDK WHY. like, i can picture it during an apocalypse movie sldkjg im not completely sure what the meaning is to the song (bc im big stupid) but i feel like its a track saying that no matter the struggles, they will continue to sing confidently, strongly, and wholly to us endlessly. beautiful, just beautiful.

ON. Moving on to the title track of MOTS: 7! I’m very picky about strong anthem-type songs but ON is actually p addicting HAHA There’s a background sound that repeats in the back that sounds like Sans from Undertale, aint that wild LMAO but anyways, the Manifesto Film was crazy good. The drums, the band, the breakdown of it all? UNBELIEVABLE. Also, JK’s vocals during the bridge? H O W. That breakdown tho...oof, that was amazing. They still dance with the thirst that rookie bts would and i think thats why ppl are so drawn to them no matter how many years pass. Fun fact: the choreographer of ON as well as Dionysus actually is from my city in Hawaii and we went to the same high school THATS WILD. the talent she holds!

UGH! Rap line ATE this shit, are we KIDDING. An ode to all the hate comments that we receive, u can see how fed up they are. They made POINTS and we all agree, its the damn law. The way how they opened up with a gunshot, we knew it was coming. Everyone joked about how we bout to hear some gunshots on this album, well they threw ALL of it on this track. Can i just say that Hobi’s verse tho? it hits different, it really do. When they went “ahem, ahem. ahem, ahem-ahem, YOUR AHEM. AHEM-AHEM--” OOOOOUGH i felt that shit!! god, imagine this in concert...the building aint ready!

0:00 (Zero O’ clock). Now we have the vocal line track, we knew they were bout to present some vocals. Great sound, slow and reflecting. Not the first track I’d listen to but it is a great listen. The lyrics tho get to me. The way how they comfort us and say that life can be rough but you can be happy. no matter what happens, with the turning of the clock to 0:00, its a brand new day and we can make the day better. what a powerful message that all of us need to hear once in a while. we will be happy guys, we deserve to be.

Inner Child. Tae’s solo which is a message to his young self. I expected a slow ballad filled with his warm vocals reminiscent of Winter Bear, 4 o’ clock, and Scenery but boi was I wrong. He has this sunset glow voice that wraps u so warmly and the sound is just so happy, pure, and innocent. Its a hopeful message to his younger self on how we will change and be the amazing person we want to or will be. I was sobbing at this song, I tell u. It was 2:00 am in the morning and I was sobbing into my pillow. Imagine comforting your past self that everything will be okay and to take ur hand, it will be all worth it in the end. When he sang “ur my boy, my boy, my boy, my boy!” Ugh...the tears!

Friends. When I heard this was a vmin duet expressing their friendship with each other, I knew it was going to be so emotional! I didn’t expect such a fun, poppy sound tho. They truly are soulmates, the love they have for each other is so wholesome and real, it truly exhibits the love I have for my friends--they’ve been with me through thick and thin, during happy and sad times; the amounts of serotonin they give me is just HHHH. The way how Tae and Jimin have been friends since high school until now is just ugh...we love it. Towards the end when they started singing “you are my soulmate!” towards each other, i started sobbing so hard because WOW. the shivers i felt, this song made me so happy and full! 

Moon. Next we have Jin’s solo which is an ode to us army’s. And on another perspective, this is a song from the moon (jin) to the Earth (army)--i have tears in my eyes. The lyrics especially got me in a chokehold and made me sob, the way how he says that he will always be by our side no matter what, the same way how we are there for him...god. The chorus really gets to me, it feels so happy and thankful and I just want to tell Jin that I will forever follow him and the boys. They’ve been with me for years now and I will continue to support, love, and listen to them. Ily to the moon and back, our moon.

Respect. I didn’t expect a Namgi duet but HERE WE ARE. Goddd when i heard that i was SO EXCITE. They’ve known each other for +10 years now and they never miss the chance to tell everyone that they’ve been friends for that long. Not @ how they disliked each other at first but grew to be so mf close, to the point where their family. Ughhh, im so uwu rn. Im so happy, so so happy that Nams started it with AYO SUGA; i SCREAMED. Also, i heard that they recorded it in one take and i could see how much fun they had--especially considering that their rap styles are completely different. Even tho in the song they joke about not knowing what the word Respect means, we know...we just KNOW the high amounts of respect they have for each other. We are Bulletproof: The Eternal. I felt like a CLOWN when this track started. Like everyone, i thought we were going to have a third installment similar to that of the strong, hip-hop, gunshot-filled part 1 and 2 of we are bulletproof, but we were met with soft vocals and rap. The lyrics tho get to me. This truly was a song about their entire journey and i felt like I experienced all years with them. They’ve been through so much and the way how they sang “we are we are together/forever bulletproof!” They are proud of where they came from and it has stuck with them till now. They are such real people...i cry. ALSO the “We were only seven, but we have you all now.” Whenever i see pictures of their debut fanmeets/concerts vs now its just crazy. imagine singing as an entire being during concerts when they start “OOOOH OH OHH” im so immensely proud of the feats they’ve reached and im excited on what they do next! <3

Outro: Ego. The way how he started it with the fitness gram pacer test just like in previous albums, ugh what a throwback! this song is such a Hobi track, its fun, dance-inducing and its just so FEEL GOOD. the way how he switches flows and is capable of doing so is *chef’s kiss* the way how he speaks about the path he takes is difficult but he doesnt regret it...SOBS also the mv??? UGH SO CUTE. the flashbacks too;; i cry

ON (feat. Sia). With this track, there’s not much extra I can say, all my opinions still stand with the original track wit ot7. I jokingly told my friend that if Sia is gonna be on the track “hey nanana’ing” the same why Halsey was only “oh my my my’ing” i will ctfu. and...welp, that was what happened. I do love Sia tho so props to her!

Overall: I initially thought that MOTS: 7 was going to be a dark, ballad-filled album but it was anything but. It had so much fun songs, the lyrics are again, so deep and meaningful--it pulls at your heartstrings. It felt so raw, personal, emotional, and i love it in all its being. The boys will continue to amaze me no matter what they put out and i forever and endlessly will support and love them the same way they do for us. MOTS: 7 is a masterpiece and im in love

Hongjoong was waving to his son excitedly through the screen, slowly gaining his attention. When your son saw his father the words immediately flew out, “Daddy!” Hongjoong would look at you in disbelief before becoming overwhelmed in joy. “Did you hear him honey? He said daddy! Oh my god-”

The boys had some free time today and had been begging you to bring yours and Seongwha’s baby girl over to the dorm. Her little one and a half year old legs waddled as fast as they could to find protection from her silly uncles. Seongwha was within sight and sure enough she ran straight towards him. Reaching her arms up for him, her pleading words shocked him. “Daddy, Daddy!” She giggled as Seonghwa scooped her away from her Yunho’s grasp. “Daddy? Well that’s a new one. It’s ok sweetie, daddy’s got you safe and sound from those monsters.”

Yunho decided to give you a break from parenting and let you have a girls day with your girl friends. He’s been on tour and very busy lately, leaving you to single parent for a while. There was a slide that had three different slots on it and Mingi wanted each of them to stand at the end of one and have her pick one to slide down. She stood at the top looking down at all three of them. Three grown men begging her to go down their slide. Yunho had his arms outstretched to her and she recognized her father instantly. “Daddy!!” She yelled as she ran to Yunho’s slide. When she reached the bottom, Yunho caught her and picked her up into a hug. “T-that’s the first time she’s ever said that.”

Waiting backstage, Yeosang was chatting with his members about how you both had been trying to get his infant little girl to say “momma” and “daddy”. The momma part had been successful but she seemed to have no interest in saying daddy. It sort of hurt Yeosang but he couldn’t let his memebers know that, knowing they’d tease him. You’ve seen how down he’s been about it so you’ve been working with her, hoping thappiness back up. That’s when you walked through the curtain holding your baby’s hand as she waddled toward Yeosang. “Go to daddy baby.” You let her go and she waddled her way to Yeosang. “D-daddy?” She said with hesitation, but the word was clear enough to understand. Yeosang sat her on his lap with a huge smile on his face. He’d have the proudest look and would brag about it to his memebers for making fun of him. “What can I say boys. I have a smart little cookie here. Isn’t that right baby girl~”

Ateez’s manager allowed San to take a week off to spend with you and your son. He was relying on FaceTime calls and pictures before this moment, so he was very excited to spend time with you both. You were ecstatic when you heard the news and couldn’t wait to see San after all this time. The baby boy you shared together was currently taking his midday snooze and you didn’t want to wake him. San would have plenty of time to see him when he awoke. One of the first things he asked when he got home was where his little clone was. When you informed him of his slumber San was patient and understanding and you both sat down and talked. While getting a drink from inside the kitchen he felt small arms wrap around his leg and he looked down to see his glowing little boy. “Daddy? Daddyyyy~” San smiled so wide his dimples seemed to push into his cheeks for miles. He’d be so overcome with emotion after being gone for so long. He almost forgot what it felt like to be a father. “Honey? Did you teach him to call me Daddy? Now you’re gonna make me cry.”

It was the weekend Mingi promised his members they could spend some quality time with his twins. They were twin boys only eight months of age and with Mingi’s tight schedule it was hard to fit time to be with them. But he took his members over to your house to fulfill his promise and there you were. In the kitchen, babies in high chairs, and food on the stove. The members just gawked over how cute the twins were. Maybe it was their sleepy expression and their matching pajamas that sent them over the edge. “How’s daddy doing?” You asked him after he placed a kiss on top of your forehead. The members all gagged at your comment all while maintaining their attention on the children. “DaDDEe.. Daddy?” One of the boys mimicked your words. The members went quiet and Mingi turned around to his kids. “DahDy? Daddy?” The second boy began to catch on as well. Next thing you know they’re both saying Daddy fluently. Mingi’s mouth was wide open in disbelief. Hearing such things from his kids gave him pride. He would place kisses all over their face and might even cry from joy. “They finally said it! They finally called me Daddy! Well... I guess they DID learn from the best 😏”

Wooyoung had encouraged you to come to the filming of their new mv and to bring ‘pumpkin and peach’ with you. Pumpkin and peach is what he liked to call your kids. Pumpkin was a little past a year old and peach was 23 weeks still in the womb. Being in the second trimester of pregnancy AND having an infant was quite the job, but you loved it. Showing up at set, you sat down and watched Wooyoung work his absolute ass off for this mv. While they were having a break he caught a glimpse of the you and the baby. He waved with a huge smile on his face. “Say lets go daddy!!” You encouraged your daughter. “Gho DahDY!!” She clapped and yelled down at Wooyoung. Wooyoung looked up at us and I laughed and shrugged my shoulders. He pointed to himself and mouthed “me?!” I nodded and he started jumping up and down and hugging his memebers. “DID YOU HEAR MY PUMPKIN! SHE CALLED ME DADDY, SHES CHEERING FOR ME! DID YOU HEAR IT!”

Jongho was in the KQ gym, trying to bulk up for their June comeback and you told him if he didn’t stop by five o’clock you’d be forced to come get him. It was a quarter past five and he hadn’t returned yet. You started to head down to the gym area when you felt small arms crawl up your leg. It was your dashing baby girl crawling at your feet. You picked her up and carried on to find your stubborn husband. And as you assumed there he is, a sweaty mess benching all by himself. I shook my head and and approached Jongho. I could hear the music blasting inside his headphones, maybe that explains why he didn’t come down by five, the man must be deaf. As soon as he realized my presence he shook his headphones out but continued to bench press. “Hello my sweets~” you rolled your eyes and shook your finger at him, “bad, bad, daddy. You didn’t listen to me.” The child watched your finger flop around at Jongho before doing the same. “Bah Dah-dee~” it was a little choppy but she managed to say the word Daddy. Jongho put the weight on the rack and sat up with a shocked expression. “Jongho...” you were as shocked as he was at your child’s first words. He’d get up and hug you both and quickly apologizing for being late. He would later boast about it to the members. “She said her first words today and you’ll never guess what it was. DADDY! She called me Daddy today. I’m so proud of her, she’s so perfect.”

ATEEZ is a group under KQ Entertainment, once knew as KQ Fellaz. They debuted on October 24th (2018) and have 8 members: Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung and Jongho.

“Will You Be My Girlfriend?” by M.O.N.T

Trios aren’t easy to come by in KPop. For me, personally, the only other trio I listen to is BSS - which is a subunit for SEVENTEEN.

What’s great about M.O.N.T is that they’re the perfect balance of rapper and vocals. Two vocals to one rapper. I’m excited to see people get into this group and I hope others are as well.

Overall Sound

“Fun” doesn’t even begin to cover this song. It’s fun, yeah, but it’s also able to be called upbeat, bright, cheerful, and summer-y. The group is perfectly balanced, with one vocalist being what I’d call “mid” (not too high, not too low) and the other being a deeper voiced vocalist. It’s a great debut song because it pulls the listener and makes you want to keep listening over and over again.

MV

If the song is “fun,” the MV is an amusement park. You can have fun without an amusement park, but the amusement park makes it even better. It’s a bright video that’s absolutely hilarious to watch. If anyone wonders what it’s like inside my head when I like someone, I’m just going to show this MV. It’s crazy, the song works, and it’s impossible not to fall in love with the trio.

What I especially love, though, is that they introduce the three members instantly via name cards (Narachan, Roda, and Bitsaeon). While the names of our vocalists feel bigger than the group itself, the members really get to let their personalities shine through. I especially love how they chose to make Roda blonde with Narachan blue and Bitsaeon gray. It keeps the vocalists grouped while allowing the rapper to stand out.

Overall, a beautiful video that seems like a really great intro to a new group.

Lyrics Meaning

I don’t think “cute” begins to define this song. It really defies words and expectations for a new group. When I had a friend who was struggling to confess to his crush, I posted the song in the group chat between us three (him, me, and the crush) and told them what the song was about. I said it made me think of “a friend of mine’s” situation. The friend it was about cussed me out, but he also understood what I was trying to do since he wanted my help confessing.

I find that for me, especially, the song tends to apply. I’m not big on romantic stuff. I don’t want to go out on fancy dates or to restaurants. But I also feel like I’d inspire these feelings in others because I’m not the kind to wait around to be kissed. I’m constantly moving and I know I frustrated the last guy who was into me because I’d suddenly leave when he wanted to kiss me (I can’t sense the mood at all).

Overall, I think the lyrics are really relatable to many people. I’d like to think even non-KPop fans would be able to read these lyrics and say “I relate.”

Choreography

Because they’re only a trio, M.O.N.T does make use of background dancers. Using four dancers, it allows them to move up to “seven members” - which seems to be the standard number for boy groups. However, while they do have four backup dancers, they hardly catch the eye as anything more than an accent piece, which is great because it allows the viewer to focus on our boys.

I’m a huge believer that M.O.N.T’s choreography for this song should be a standard all groups should abide by. While there are moments in sync, they also manage to pull attention to whoever is singing/rapping at that moment. For example, right away you have the other members + backup dancers facing outward and crouched down as Roda starts his rap.

Additionally, rather than keeping both sides perfectly “in sync” when moving up and down, they rely on a “left-right” method. That is to say, when the center points one way, that side goes up. When he points the other, that side goes up. It allows everyone to go back to being upright without boring the audience with lack of mobility. They also don’t just stay in one point. One thing that really drew my attention was about 1:30 into the dance practice, when the entire group gravitates to the left of the screen.

I’d listen to this song if I was...

Showering, cleaning, dancing around the house, or driving to work. This is an “all situations” song - which isn’t easy for me to find. It keeps me pumped up and excited. It makes me eager to do whatever I have to do. I can’t stop listening to it and I wish more of my friends would listen to it so I could gush over how amazing it is some more.

You might like this song if you like...

Cute songs, like “With Melody” by Huta. Both songs have a cute music video and that beautiful upbeat sound. They belong together on a playlist, both in terms of aesthetic and in sound.

“Complete” by ONF is another upbeat KPop song which could follow the theme. It’s very cute, cheerful, and makes you want to dance around your bedroom while it plays.

Mixing it up a bit in the languages, I’d say “Spark” by SBFIVE. Compared to “Whenever,” I like “Spark” way more. It’s upbeat, bright, and cute. I know not many people that listen to KPop also listen to Thai Pop (much to my dismay!), but I feel like “Spark” is a great gateway song if you like songs like “Will You Be My Girlfriend?”

Final Words

I know they’re still new and one MV usually isn’t enough to make a fan, but I know it’s extremely satisfying to watch a group grow. If you want a fresh group to get into that doesn’t have a huge, overwhelming fanbase yet, this is the group for you. Plus, it’s a trio, so that’s less photocards to have to search through. Have you ever tried to find a trade for the PC you want when you like a group with 13 members? It’s not easy!

Hey guys! Here I bring you this past month’s readings. Even though they are mainly yoonmin, this month there are a couple of OT7 fics of which I hadn’t read much until now. 1) Boyfriend Tag

“Normally I post dance routines and the occasional tag or challenge video and I know I haven’t posted in a while so I am here to make it up to you all. Yoongi lost a bet sooooo we are here with the highly requested, boyfriend tag!!” Jimin yelled making Yoongi wince and lean away from him. “Are you ready?” Jimin asked bringing his attention to Yoongi. “You better not get a thing wrong,” He warned pointing a finger at Yoongi.

Yoongi has just discovered his neighbor that he thinks is too damn loud is actually an internet camboy.

Chaos ensues when they start seeing each other. Things get hard–literally.

3) Crazy is most definitely genetic (work in progress; Pairings: Namjoon/Seokjin, Yoongi/Jimin, Hoseok/Taehyung, + Baby Kookie)

Family!au where Jimin’s just trying to survive high school, Taehyung keeps weirding everyone out, Namjoon is an embarrassing dad, Jin is supermom, and Jungkookie’s just along for the ride.

4) Trolling ARMY (OT7, brotp, no pairings, BTS universe)

“The boys play a game where they compete to see who can get the most "shippy” comments of the week.“ Yoongi watched from an armchair on the other side of the room, trying not to chuckle. Ever since he’d learned the term shipping, he’d watched his brothers with a different eye. None of them were gay–though Namjoon had once drunkenly pontificated at length about his distaste for labels–or interested in one another. But they were all a little…handsy.

5) TRB in NYC (OT7, brotp, no pairings, BTS universe)

"What happened?” Namjoon asked, his voice tight. They had been skirting around him all day. As if he didn’t know. He found it darkly funny. His English was better than all of them combined, even their manager. He’d read the tweets, the posts, the threats. He’d tried to keep the other members from it as much as he could, but everyone had an inkling things had escalated past normal fan stuff.

“We’ve had a credible threat.”

Based on the threats that they received when they performed at New York. BTS hurting and comforting each other.

6) 7 minutes in heaven (*)

“It’s a fusion game. The person who spins the bottle gets to ask the person it landed on truth or dare, and if that person doesn’t want to answer or do the dare then they either take a shot or take off an article of clothing,” Jin says like he’s proud of improvising such a fantastic game.

“I’m not playing that,” Yoongi says. “Hyung, don’t be a party pooper, are you scared we’ll learn your secrets?” Hoseok asks and Namjoon ah’s dramatically. Yoongi shakes his head and puts his tongue in his cheek before he smiles at their antics, pushing Namjoon over closer to Jin so that he can sit down. “Please, hyung, it sounds like fun!” Jungkook says. “It’s my birthday.” 

I’m a simple girl. I love seeing a devoted and whipped Yoongi for Jimin even before they start dating. I love an innocent and kind Jimin crushing on his firend’s older brother who is kinda a bad boy and very cool. And I love BTS getting together, spitting embarrassing secrets and playing spin the bottle. This fic has all these elements and that’s why it’s one of my favorite readings of the month.

7) #mindreading Series

It’s my first time reading a fic in which someone has a gift because I’m more into stories that aren’t too fictional, but apart from Yoongi being able to read people’s minds, it doesn’t have any other “supernatural” elements so I decided to give it a try and I really enjoyed it. It was super cute reading about Jimin’s thoughts about Yoongi and I liked how the author developed their relationship and Jimin’s reaction towards Yoongi’s gift.

That is, until they get to the new hotel they’re staying at, and he gets handed a room key that’s the same as Yoongi’s. Meaning, he and Yoongi will share a room and worse, he and Yoongi will have to share a bed.

“Why do I have to share with Yoongi-hyung?” Jimin complains. He’s managed to avoid it this whole trip which is really in his best interest if he wants to keep his raging heart boner for him hidden.

GO READ THIS MASTERPIECE OH MY GOD. I’ve never been interested in fiction heavy aus like pirates, superheroes, etc. but I’d heard such great things about this story, the author is lovely and this is the Yoonmin fic with the most kudos on AO3, so I decided to give it a try and BEST DECISION I’VE MADE THIS MONTH. It’s made me feel so many emotions. I’ve cried, laughed, screamed, blushed and became a mess. The author also gives music recommendations to listen to while reading the chapters and it gives the story that extra something (I actually created playlists for each chapter and I like them so much that I listen to them even when I’m going somewhere lol). Seriously, I’m obsessed with this story, the characters are freaking fantastic, the development is everything and what’s best is that this story is far from over. She’s planning on turning it into a series and I cannot wait to see how the story develops. Also, the author has a schedule so there’s a new chapter every week which is something that I appreciate a lot, especially when starting to read a work in progress (it’s almost finished, next week she’ll upload the epilogue and it’ll be complete). GO READ IT AND COME SCREAM AND CRY ABOUT IT WITH ME.

BTS universe. F**k, this is good! I don’t know what to say but that as you may know I really like fics that are kinda canon compliant and this one is SO GOOD. The group is working on a new album and it’s kinda like love myself but riskier in the sense that it is a controversial topic in south korea. I just love it when people also write about the korean music industry (even if it may not be 100% accurate, but let’s be honest, only the people working in it knows what’s up really) because I find it so interesting and not many people talk about it in depth. Of course, I can’t finish without saying that I really enjoyed the development of Jimin and Yoongi’s relationship, how Yoongi wasn’t aware of Jimin’s sexual orientation. A good fic right here!

The first time it happens, Taehyung doesn’t say anything because he doesn’t know how.

To start, I would like to say that this fic deals with a very serious and triggering topic for some so if you are not in a good mental place or you could be triggered by it please do not read it. This fic doesn’t have any pairings and it’s a BTS universe fic. It’s complete and I really enjoyed the different ways in which each member deals with what’s happening. In my opinion, the author did an excellent job at portraying each character and the way in which they would behave in such a difficult situation. I’m especially really liking her take on Jungkook because you can clearly see that he’s the youngest one, his confusion and anger clearly shows how much he cares about the well-being of all his hyungs. I don’t know, it’s such a heavy fic, but I really liked it.

My job is to mostly to tell people when they make mistakes lmao. i work in document quality control ? for a manufacturing company, mostly check the inspection paperwork and certificates for the medical/surgical devices. and then have to be like this... is not right. fix this. currently have a lot of prototype parts going through which have some added requirements but also they keep changing the prints so then obviously the paperwork then changes and its just been annoying cuz its redo-ing a lot of paperwork.

yeah, that makes sense and that is part of it sometimes... i also think im just not in the mood for certain genres of music at times lol.

lol yeah it was so funny in the beginning she was watching some mv's and kept sending me screenshots of jeonghan with different hair styles with this message "who is this????" and every single time it was still jeonghan. i was just like lmao you should just assume that its jeonghan at this point. her defense was that he looks really different every time he changes his hair. she can recognize him now at least. the only other ones she can recognize currently are s.coups (her current favorite member overall) and vernon (her favorite rapper in their songs - she really like how vernon raps). shes more rap biased lol.

thank you.. you are only a little late lol my bday was the 11th. the last time i played bingo i spent $40 total over two days (80 games @ $0.50/game) and won zero. its a skill... i only got close to bingo (1 space away) like 3 times total. it was really tragic... at one point the lady sitting at the same table as us was just like wow... i haven't seen you even get three in a row since i've been here (which was like an hour).

We went to the same kindergarten, then i moved away and then i moved back in the 8th grade (i also have known the friend that is getting into svt for the same amount of time since she went to that same school, though her family are basically neighbors with my cousins family, and they are really close, so i saw her a lot more overall but wasn't super close to her until more recently actually, when we went to the same wedding (my cousin's) and starting talking again)

also to help this make more sense (as in why would they remember me lol) my graduating class size at that school was only 22 people, and my cousins also went to that same school. my dad went to that school, the english teacher there had taught my dad when he was in high school, its extreme small town vibes. people would literally just recognize what family i came from and just start talking to me. and i'd just be frantically trying to figure out who they were. like oh god oh god am i supposed to know who this is?? have i met this person before???

actually the wackiest thing is one of my friends from when i moved (big school), her grandma, i found out after we moved back to the small town, used to babysit my dad and her grandmas house was literally a mile down the street from us... you could see her grandmas house from our living room windows. i was just like what?? her cousins also then went to the same school as me. and then we fell out of touch but then ended up going to the same college. where she would be like "i saw you on campus today" and i was just like??? i did not see you, where are you? i haven't talked to you in like 3 years wtf?? i'm not in touch with her anymore but my younger sister is currently roommates with her younger sister in college lmao. oh other bizarre thing... one of my classmate's (from the big school) relatives bought the house we sold when i moved in kindergarten, and idk for some reason a few years after we moved we went back to the old house for something idk, and my classmate was visiting her family at my old house at the same time. we saw each other and we just stared at each other like what are you doing here?? we had moved like hour away (highway travel times) lol so it was just so random. (wow i hope these made sense lol)

the heat was worse in the beginning of summer i think... or i've just gotten used to it lol. there was all that smoke though that blew in from canada a bit ago though. but thats almost become a yearly thing now unfortunately. lol your weather sounds like how the weather is here sometimes - i live in minnesota, we are known for our wildly fluctuating weather. extreme highs and lows.

I love piano in music! I had to learn how to play piano as a kid... my grandma taught (most) of the grandchildren. i'm not very good at it tbh i never liked to practice and i havent played in years lol. we also learned how to play the piano/read sheet music when i went to the big school for music class for a year. I feel like if you are able to buy a little cheap or used keyboard it shouldn't be too hard to teach yourself if you wanted to start?? at least simple songs. I guess learning to read music would be the hardest place to start if you've never read sheet music before?? but thats what cheat sheets are for tbh. write the notes in, write them on the keys whatever works. we had a foldable note cheat sheet thing that went behind the keys and said the name of the note and where it was on the staff behind all the keys. when I was learning i'd be like b b b where is the b im looking for... ah here it is *ding* ok and now c ... c . c. ah ha *ding* and then repeat until you can play at a normal speed lol.

also what's ur favorite cold drink (#2)? picked this one cuz I have been buying myself bubble tea like once a week almost uhhh all summer lol the tapioca pearls at this place are so much better than other places i've been to and this place has cheese foam that i have also become obsessed with (tho thats very expensive its an extreme treat myself drink add-on lol) the blended mango with cheese foam... so good.... its like $7 though. today i got the normal mango milk tea which i hadn't had in a while cuz i'd been going through the various types of regular? milk tea (made with different types of black tea - i love black tea i have um a lot of tea i think i have like 15 different types rn). Otherwise I almost always have ginger ale in my fridge lol its great for a lot of things and also just to drink. love ginger ale... i just love ginger honestly.....

Love Crescendo’s Counter-Attack!

-I’m interested in the pairing between Goto-san and Sugawara-san, so I’ve come to hear your story.

Goto: (while shaking Maya’s hand) Thanks for making this pairing with me!

Sugawara: (while shaking Rara’s hand) I’m glad!

-You two are close, huh.

Sugawara: It’s a business relationship.

Goto: Yup, it’s for work so we have no choice but look like we are close to one another.

-It doesn’t seem that way. (laugh) Does your unit have a name?

Goto/Sugawara: Kuzuzu.

-That name doesn’t seem like one that will spread very easily. (laughs) Tell us about its origins.

Goto: Maya and I often share a room when we get accommodation and we always stay up until 2 in the morning just wasting time. In that sense we are “kuzu” (crap). I want to see Kuzuzu spread, so please [help us]!

-What do the two of you talk about?

Goto: I listen to Sugawara’s worries. (laugh)

Sugawara: Hey, hey. Don’t I listen to your stories too? (Laugh)

Goto: Sugawara talks about SKE48.

Sugawara: Rara talks a lot about her studies or herself. She also talk about things high school girls talk about.

Goto: It’s always funny when the two of us are together. If she invites me to go to the convenience store with her and I refuse, she replies “Oh, is that so” coldly and turns into a tsundere.

Sugawara: I act cold towards to a friendly person, unfortunately. (Laugh) Rara is friendly to everyone, she spoils me too.

Goto: Sugawara surprisingly has qualities of an older sister, so I really want to pamper her.

Sugawara: Maybe I’m seen as an object, but I’m often used a pillow. But since I want a younger sister… Nah, I don’t really need one after all.

Goto: Hey ~ (laugh)

-Are there any things you’d like the other to improve on?

Goto: She uses me as her errand-goer. She asks me stuff like, “Hey, get a tissue for me over there.” (Laugh) I get annoyed but if I think about it I use her as a slave too.

Sugawara: We’re both the same, huh. (Laugh) As for the stuff I’d like Rara-chan to improve on, there’s quite a lot of it.

Goto: Huh, what? Probably how I don’t listen to your stories right?

Sugawara: Well that applies to me too. I want you to be quiet. When we’re in the same room she puts her music on extremely loudly and starts singing. I can’t stand it. I try telling her to shut up.

Goto: Ahahahaha! I thought you were happy when you told me that. I sing wildly even in the cars that drive and pick us up from work. For me, doing that is necessary.

Sugawara: When she did that I went to take a bath and when I came back she was sleeping. (Laugh)

-When Love Crescendo was formed it was believed that the two of you, together with Obata-san, would carry SKE48 forward.

Sugawara: That might be the case for Rara-chan and Yunana, but it was wrong to believe that from me.

Goto: She is negative.

Sugawara: I’m negative, but I’m also the kind to get very excited.

-You weren’t happy during Love Crescendo.

Sugawara: I was simply happy. Even though I didn’t appear in the first performance for the kenkyuusei stage and my position in the second draft was on the margins, I was still selected for Love Crescendo. A lot of people probably wondered why I was chosen. So I didn’t want to waste that chance.

Goto: I didn’t realize the meaning of the unit at the time. But the filming of the MV in Kumamoto was a lot of fun. We were made to do a lot of things that we normally wouldn’t be able to do in the great wild.

-After two years of Love Crescendo, Obata-san has become the center for Igai ni Mango and Muishiki no Iro.

Goto/Sugawara: *handshake*

Goto: It felt like we had been building up towards Igai ni Mango, so it felt right when it happened.

Sugawara: I, along with other members, hoped that Obata would have a position in the front. There was an impact in having her be the center for her first senbatsu, and I think being the center suits her.

-Did you feel that you needed to do better?

Goto: I wasn’t upset. I thought it was another chance for me. And with Igai ni Mango I felt like I was able to forget all of my past pressure. Those around me told me I got brighter as a result.

Sugawara: I’m hearing a lot fewer negative stories from Rara since then.

Goto: I’m serious at heart. (Laugh)

Sugawara: Could you not say that about yourself? (Laugh)

Goto: I had a lot of fun during Mae Nomeri and Love Crescendo’s Koppu no Naka no Komorebi, but I was frustrated with my worthlessness during Chicken LINE and Kin no Ai, Gin no Ai, and I drove myself into a corner.

-You didn’t talk about it with Sugawara-san?

Goto: I’m the type to be hard on myself. On the other hand, Sugawara is the type to pay too much attention to others, and when she was feeling deflated I cheered her up by saying I was there for her.

-Sugawara-san got into the senbatsu for Chicken LINE but got left out for Kin no Ai, Gin no Ai, and Igai ni Mango.

Sugawara: For a period I thought that the senbatsu was “whatever” and gave up on getting back in. I thought it was a time to focus on doing the work I was given. However, I felt Yahagi-chan’s effort as the first 8th generation member in the senbatsu, and I felt like getting back into the senbatsu. I feel like the time spent out of the senbatsu was a plus for me.

-I believe that the fact you are both in the senbatsu now is a big thing.

Goto: I was happy we were both in it. We get mails to inform us about the senbatsu when it’s decided. I thought, “Oh crap, Sugawara’s in it.”

Sugawara: Rara was the one who told me I was in it.

Goto: But she told me “I already know.” (Laugh)

-Love Crescendo has also been brought back, and four new faces have been added.

Goto: At first I wondered what was with this timing. Love Crescendo sang before the Unit Battle concert, and Jurina told us “I was told that the seven of us are the best, so let’s do our best”, so I felt fired up. However, a few days later it was decided that we would get new members, so I was surprised.

Sugawara: It’s because we love Love Crescendo so much. We talked to each other on LINE.

Goto: When we shot the MV I felt the energy of the new members, particularly the two 8th generation members. (Inoue Ruka, Nomura Miyo) My feelings were complicated but I felt like I didn’t want to lose to the new members.

Sugawara: There was a time where I was the only one in Love Crescendo left out of the senbatsu. Due to that I felt like I needed to try harder. I’m glad I’m able to be part of Love Crescendo.

-Do you feel like Love Crescendo’s time is coming?

Sugawara: If you compare us to our senpai in terms of name recognition, we’re no where close, but 7D2 has a lot of cute girls. (Laugh)

Goto: I really do think so.

Sugawara: I want us to appear more and be noticed more.

-Do you want to keep Kuzuzu going?

Goto: Yup. Sugawara is able to express her funny side, but although I’m able to joke around with my inner circle, I end up being in the background when I’m in front of many people. I want people to see me fooling around, but I can’t get it out.

Sugawara: That’s because I’ve got the joking character.

Goto: I’m jealous. I want to get a joking character too.

Sugawara: But I wanted to be known as a pure girl!

When you thought about starting a rock & roll covers band you were just looking forward to wearing some awesome clothes, get free drinks at the bar and having cute guys lining up to get a date with you. But you have been playing the same old bars for what seems like ages, your clothes are practically made of sweat, the free drinks get boring pretty damn fast and instead of cute guys all you get is a bunch of idiots who think it’s ok to try to get their hands on you while you’re performing.

Tonight’s a Friday night, you just finished a gig at one of the usual spots and you played here so many times you feel like you know all the regulars. “I have to step out of the bar for a minute, after all this time my eyes should be better at dealing with the strong lights and cigarette smoke.” You said to your drummer.

You went outside and spent some time chatting to the bouncer before going back in and finding your band mates pointing you out to a guy you have never seen before. “Great, just what I needed…” You developed a strict no idiots policy but your band mates are not always helpful in telling guys to fuck off, and you usually end up having to dish out the fuck offs by yourself.

As he approached you you noticed that he’s pretty well dressed, and a second look at him tells you he’s not one of the usual idiots with some new clothes, so you decided to give him a break. “You totally rocked the house tonight.” Was the first thing he said to you.

“Thanks.”

“What’s your name?”

“Y/N.”

“Hi Y/N. You don’t know me but my name is Alex, I’m Break Argument’s manager. We’ve been looking for a girl for our new MV and you have just the look we’ve been searching for. So I would like to ask you if you’d be interested in being in it?”

“Break Argument?”

“Yes, you know them?” 

“Yes, I heard some of their songs.”

“Perfect. So would you be interested?” 

“Yes, of course. What is the concept?” 

“It’s quite a sexy one. It envolves partial nudity and you would have to act along side one of the members. Are you comfortable with that?”

“Yeah sure, no problem. When do you shoot?” 

“Next week.”

“Perfect.”

“Just give me your contact details in case I need to contact you” 

“Oh, here you go.” You handed him your card.

“Awesome, I’ll give you more info later”

“Alright!”

“See ya”.

“Bye!”

You showed up on set to film the music video a week later. As soon as you arrived there you were sent to hair and make up. Your make up wasn’t too strong, you just had a thick eyeliner, some false lashes, contour and blush. On your hair they put some hair extensions that reached your waist. After that you went to wardrobe and they gave you a large Guns ‘n’ Roses tank top that covered your butt with black lace bralette and panties underneath. On your legs you were wearing some black lace thigh high stockings and black leather high heel booties.

Alex had told you that the music video would consist of three parts: shots of the band playing and singing,  shots of you flirting with Chanyeol in the car and a scene in the lake also with him. You didn’t know much about the band or Chanyeol so you went to research them. You found out that he was the guitar player and that he also composed and wrote some of the band’s songs. He was also really tall and really hot.

When you arrived at the shooting place you were greeted by Chanyeol. He was wearing some jeans, a black fitted t-shirt and a leather jacket, he looked so much better in real life. “Hi, I’m Chanyeol. What’s your name?”

“Y/N.”

“Nice to meet you Y/N! Are you ready to shoot our scenes? I know it can be a little uncomfortable.”

“To be honest I’m a bit nervous.”

 “Ah don’t be nervous, I promise I won’t bite.” He then gave a huge smile to make you feel at ease.

“Y/N! Chanyeol! It’s time to shoot now.” The assistent called for you both.

“Guess we have to go now. Don’t worry, it’ll be fine.” He squeezed your arm and gave you another reassuring smile.

You both went inside the car – he was on the drivers seat and you were on the passenger’s. The car was going to be in movement, as if you both were going on a roadtrip and your job was to flirt with him while he was driving.

The first few takes were terrible. The director kept on telling you to be more seductive and provocative, but you felt weird on doing those kinds of scenes with a guy you didn’t know, even if it was a hot one.

“Just let go.” Chanyeol told you with a kind smile.

His words gave you a boost of confidence and made you lose all your inibitions. When the director yelled action again you completely did a 180 degree turn �� you were whispering to his ear and biting it, you were on all fours with your ass slightly exposed in his direction and your torso out of the window, then you lay your head on his lap and put your legs out of the window. Chanyeol responded to all of those things too – he smiled at you and gave you loving looks, he put his hand on your legs, played with your hair, etc.

“Cut! That was perfect. Now we just need to film it from other angles, but that’s exactly the atittude I want to see.”

“Good job.” Said Chanyeol while smiling at you.

The filmings ended just in time – the sun was starting to set down and you needed to film it in day light. You waited for them to give you permission to leave and went to your trailer so you could change. After you removed your make up and hair extensions you picked up your bag so you could change back to your clothes.

While you were getting dressed you kept on thinking about how close you felt with Chanyeol today, there was no denying that you felt sexually attracted to him and that you two had a good chemistry.

You kept on thinking about tomorrow. The director told you that the scene would be shot at night. You would pass by a lake and you would tell him to pull over, then you would drag him out of the car and take him to the lake. After that you would turn your back to him and start undressing until you were only in your underwear, you would take a dip in the lake and tell him to come inside. He would get down to his underwear and go in the lake, he then would get near you and you two would start to get closer and closer until you almost kissed. That last part was what making your heart race.

You picked up your shirt so you could finish getting dressed and turned around to see Chanyeol through the window a few meters away from your trailer talking to some guy. You stood there watching him for a few minutes. Why are you so hot?

Suddenly his attention shifted towards you, his eyes fixating on your half naked body. Noticing this, you quickly closed the drapes and dropped to the floor.

It wasn’t the fact that he just saw you wearing just your bra that made you react this way, it was the fact that he caught you staring at him. You didn’t want to make things awkward between the two of you, and creepy stalker staring would definitely weird him out.

You put your shirt on and then waited a good amount of time for him to leave, not wanting to have an awkward meet up outside. You quickly peeked outside to see if the coast was clear and then left to go home.

Next day you came to the set full of confidence, you decided you were going to pretend that nothing had happened and you were going to give your best in today’s shooting.

You felt at ease when you saw that him too was acting like nothing had happened. Maybe he felt embarrassed for beeing caught staring at your half naked body.

While filming, things felt a little different though. You felt like your desire for him was getting stronger, and the closer you got the faster your heart would beat. Chanyeol too was acting slightly different, you could swear that the way he was looking at you was more intense and passionate than yesterday.

But it was when you got to the undressing scene that you really felt the temperature rising. When you turned around to get undressed you felt a touch of adrenaline, something about you being half naked and knowing he was watching you made you feel excitment.

And then the last scene came, the one where he would come in the water half naked and almost kiss you. Everything around you seemed to be setting the mood – the moon and the stars above you, the hot night, the warm water.

When the director yelled “action” you felt like your heart was going to jump out of your chest, antecipation building.

You watched him take off his clothes and you studied his body, you were surprised to see he was so fit, muscles well defined. He went in the water and got closer to you, his hand grabbed your wet hair and moved your face closer to his. Your eyes met each other and it was like he was seeing all of you, not just your body but also your bare soul. You could see that it was way more than acting, not just by his piercing gaze but also by the heat that seemed to radiate from his body.

Your eyes fixated on his lips and at that moment it was like you forgot everything, the cameras, the crew, the fact that this is supposed to be acting, everything. In that moment all you wanted to do was to kiss his lips, and as you both got closer to doing so you heard the director. “CUT!” Chanyeol got further away from you and then suddenly it was like everything became cold.

“Good job.” He smiled at you, and you smiled back.

“Thanks, you too.” You smiled back.

You were bummed, you didn’t want this to end. You wanted to keep going, you wanted to taste his lips, you wanted to feel his embrace.

When you left your trailer to go home you noticed that Chanyeol was waiting for you outside. You felt excited by seeing him there, waiting for you.

“Hey.” He said.

You both stood there looking at each other, your mouths slowly being drawn to each other until you heard a car honking. “Chanyeol hurry up, we have to go!” Said the guy inside.

“I have to go…Thank you for bringing my vision to life.” His eyes lingered on you until the honking started again.

“You should go or they’ll come drag you to the car.” You said while smiling.

He smiled back. “Bye.” He turned around to walk to the car but his head kept spinning backwards so he could look back at you, like he didn’t wanted to go.

That night all you could think about was that talk you had with him. The way he talked about love… You never felt something like what he described but you could imagine feeling all of that with him. Curiosity was driving you crazy, so when you finished the song you told everybody you would take a short break. You got near his table and took a seat next to him.

“Wow, that was fucking amazing!” He said.

“You liked it? Thank you so much!” You had a huge smile across your face. “But what are you doing here? I never saw you here before.”

“I was in the process of writing a new song but nothing was coming out, and then I remembered that my manager told me he had found you in this bar singing and so I checked when you were going to perform again and decided to come watch you.”

“Because I had prepared a cover of one of your songs to sing tonight and now you are sitting right in front of me.”

“Really? Which song?”

Your guitar player James came to give you a tap on the shoulder, warning you that your pause was over. “I have to go now, I’ll come back.”

You went back on stage and told everybody that you were going to play ‘Temptations’ by Break Argument next and everybody started clapping. The music started playing and it was like you entered in a state of trance, your eyes fixating on him. You felt the meaning of every word you were singing run through your whole body. His eyes were dark, staring back at you. It was like you two were talking in a language that no one else could hear.

You finished the song and everybody in the room except him were clapping. His dark gaze was still fixated on you and a little smirk grew on his face, as if to tell you that he had liked your performance.

There were only five more songs left to finish the gig. Through those songs you would always look back at him as if to search for signs of his approval, and he would throw a smile at you to give it to you.

After you finished the gig you went straight to his table. “What did you think?” 

“You were perfect.” 

“Thank you, that means so much to me. I was so scared you weren’t going to like it.” You felt a wave of relief spread through your chest.

“No no no, on the contrary, you were so good that you totally inspired me.” He smiled.

“Stop it, you don’t have to say those things to me.” You became a little shy.

“No, I’m being serious. Come to my studio, I’ll show you how much you have inspired me just now.”

“Oh, okay.” You felt his decision to be a little rush but you didn’t care, you wanted to be alone with him.

You were so impressed when you arrived at his studio, it was big and it had the best equipment. It had a huge screen on the wall with two speakers on each side, a huge mixing console and a wall full of guitars.

He went straight to the guitars and picked the oldest one there.

“Why did you chose that one?” 

“This was my first guitar, my father gave it to me. We didn’t have a lot of money so I know he sacrificed a lot just to buy me this one.”

“Oh, then it must mean a lot to you.”

“It’s very special to me. I named it Valeria which comes from a latin verb that means “to be strong”. I gave it that name because this guitar always gives me strength. Everytime I face hardships I play my guitar and everything seems much easier and clearer, like I could face the whole world.”

“That’s amazing, how you can have that one thing that always gives you strength.”

“I have a lot of other guitars, as you can see, but I always go back to this one.” He sat down and started playing a melody. “I thought of this melody when I saw you performing tonight.”

You got closer to him, admiring the sound. “It’s so beautiful and seductive.” 

“Yeah, it reminds me of you.” He stopped playing and stared at you with a dark gaze, you giving that same gaze right back at him.

my first bias: i think it was chaeyoung. it was a short and slight attempt after the twice official lineup was announced and i saw a pretty fantaken picture of her on my dash.

your current bias and why: i actually have a top 3. nayeon, mina and jihyo. nayeon for being so playful and genuine, mina because she’s so soft and precious and jihyo because she’s truly one of the most caring kpop leaders out there.

favourite song: okay, i’ll try to pick just one. i think i’ll go with love line.

favourite mv: i like the mv for candy pop lmfao.

favourite choreography: do it again. it’s their most fun choreography in my opinion and man, i’d love love love love to see twice one day with another concept like that.

favourite voice/singer: jungyeon. she’s got a very strong and stable voice, at least that’s how in sounds in the studio (i never care about live singing when it comes to kpop idols). it’s very clean, it stands out and it’s no wonder that so many people think that she’s actually twice’s voice.

favourite dancer: momo, absolutely. not only that, but she’s probably my most favourite from all the new dancers this younger generation of groups has brought.

my first bias: it was hyunjin, i believe.

your current bias and why: sometimes i have doubts about who’s truly number one, so i’ve decided to wait until their finally debut as ot12. at the moment, the strongest candidates are jinsoul, yves and chuu.

my first bias: johnny. i was super excited when he debuted in nct 127 because he was the only smrookie who i knew and liked.

your current bias and why: yuta. dumbass answer? i actually had a random dream about him like a week ago. i think he was my classmate and deskmate? yeah, we were in high school. oh btw, you showed up in the dream too lmfao. and when i woke up, my brain was of course fixated on him, it’s just.. very strange. a more serious answer… idk. he’s so cute and playful, tho i admit i was wary of him at first. i knew some nct fans who didn’t like him and insisted he’s nothing but a jerk who bullies the other members, especially the younger ones? but dunno, i don’t see it. he’s got a very cute personality actually. and yes, i’ve been watching nct life and other stuff, it’s all i did this weekend. ok, i admit. caught red-handed.
