For the TTRPG character questions! You don’t have to answer all of them lol
2 // Noble
7 // Casimir
21 // Liam
34 // Liam
36 // Hybris
40 // Dmitri
61 // Casimir
Thank you, my friend! I most certainly shall answer all of them lol
2. what was your original concept for this character? how did playing them change that concept?
My original concept for Noble was a lot more edgy and brooding. He fit a lot more into the typical "rogue" stereotype. When I played him though, he became a bit more lighthearted and flirty. Honestly, he fits a lot with the typical "bard" stereotype. He's just a funny guy.
7. there’s a magic item (or technological innovation, or special resource) made just for them—what is it?
It would be a telescope that showed the sky as it was on whatever day he'd want to go back to the most. It would a) be a cool thing for him and b) help him get his priorities straight. I don't he's aware that good things exist in his life, and getting to have a concrete date for a day that he cherishes (and that probably is after Dmitri died) would do him wonders.
21. do they have an idea about how they’ll die? do you?
Liam assumed he'd die before 16, so honestly he's kinda just expecting to die at any moment, which is partially why he's Like That. Right now though, I think he assumes he's gonna get killed. I think if he survives CoS, then his sisters (Talia and Lilian) will kill him.
34. what languages do they speak? how did they learn them?
Common, Elvish, Infernal, Celestial, Halfling, Dwarvish, and conversational in Draconic. He learned them all through books. He spent a lot of time stuck in bed as a kid, and that's how he'd pass the time. He's currently learning Draconic though because he's upset that Lionel knows it and he doesn't.
36. how do they fidget?
By playing music mainly. Or running his fingers over the bracelet Dionysus gave him lately. That's more a nervous tick than a fidget though. He's never still. Even when he's standing, he's kinda dancing around.
40. if you had to remake this character right now, how would you change them?
He's already been remade a lot from his initial concept (he and Cas sort of flipped in terms of who was the extrovert/introvert. Can you believe Cas once was the personable one? His 20 in Charisma means nothing to me). I think I would make him more well-rounded a person, as in he'd have less intense interests in things so as to be a better balance to Cas, who is nothing if not obsessive. They're supposed to be kinda parallels and opposites, but Dmitri also has an all consuming interest in something, which lead to his death, so...
61. is there an in-game moment of theirs you think about and just laugh?
I have two. One from when I played him as a player character, and another from our campaign where he's an NPC:
When I played him, he and his party were meeting with this wizard dude, and someone had asked Cas a question that answering would've involved mentioning Dmitri (at this point in his life, Cas straight up refuses to even say Dmitri's name), and he wanted to avoid this topic so badly, he got up and left. He grabbed the first book he could see and started reading it. It was on a creature called like a ragamuffin or something. He gained proficiency in identifying them.
In the Noven campaign, it's when Cyrus betrayed the party and ran into Cas, and his first reaction was to offer tea and not talk about what happened. My man has never addressed a problem in his life; that is fully why all these problems exist.

Anthony’s Stupid Daily Blog (235): Sun 6th Nov 2022
Kelvin Mackenzie is one of the biggest lying pieces of shit in the history of British journalism. In my opinion his lies about the Hillsborough disaster should have been enough to prove to everyone in positions of power this this prick is reprehensible bastard who should be left to rot for the rest of his meaningless life. However in the years since he wrote those horrific, upsetting lies he has continued to find work mainly by newspaper editors who want as many people buying their papers as possible even if it's because they're filled with baseless gossip and slanderous lies. He also posts a lot of unfounded shit on Twitter and relishes in ignoring when people fact check his bullshit and just moves on to the next lie. A while back I was thinking of starting a new Twitter page called "Chortul Spelleen Misstakes" where I would post whenever an article on the comedy website Chortle would spell a word incorrectly (which is basically every article) but now I think my time would better be spent on a page dedicated solely to writing insulting things about Kelvin Mackenzie instead. I keep trying to come up with a witty name for this page but because of the hatred this cunt conjures up in me all my brain will give me is "Kelvin Mackenzie Is A Fat Smelly Cock Cunt". It's not clever but it is concise. Theres a clip of Mackenzie giving "evidence" to the Levison enquiry where he states that his philosophy when he was editing The Sun was that if a story sounded true it was probably true and it was worth bunging in. With this in mind I think that I state in this pages bio that "All stories posted on this site were told to me by anonymous sources close to Kelvin and because they sound true I think they probably are true so they're worth bunging in". My first anonymous source provided me with my first breaking news story about him:
Kelvin Mackenzie once teabagged a co-workers drink, forgot that he'd teabagged it and then later on, drank it
Fuck Kelvin Mackenzie. Justice For Hillsborough
Later on I learned that the singer Aaron Carter died. I will state upfront that I know next to nothing about Aaron Carter. I haven't heard any of his songs and I know nothing of his career. However I do remember having a deep seeded hatred of this guy when I was a teenager because this lucky bastard both Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan. I had huge crushes on both these girls when I was a horny young teenager and so was insanely jealous of Carter for being able to bang both of them (presumably it must have been fairly easy though because Duff and Lohan were feuding at the time so he instantly had an in with Duff after he broke up with Lohan:
Carter: Hi Duff: Hi Carter: I just dumped Lindsay Lohan Duff: Wanna fuck?
Watched my first live Lakers game of the year as they took on the Caveliers. They started off strong mostly thanks to Russell Westbrook but went to shit in the third quarter and had fallen 17 points behind. The Lakers have not been doing well lately...or last season for that matter. I have a theory why they're playing so badly (but keep in mind that I'm mentally insane and so it's probably not true...but it sounds true so it probably is true). LeBron isn’t that far off from overtaking Kareem Abdul Jabbar for the all time record for most points scored during an NBA career. He just needs to score another 1000 points and he'll overtake him. Since LeBron has already led the Lakers to a Championship win once before I think that breaking Kareem's record is now more of a priority for LeBron and he knows that if he just carries on playing games at a relaxed ace then he will indeed break the record in a couple of years. Perhaps the reason he seems to be taking it easy lately is because he doesn't ant to risk a serious injury this close to breaking the record and being seen by many (at least in terms of points) as the greatest player whoever lived. As much as it pains me to say it I think the Lakers would probably be better off without James at this point.

Bah Humduck Fanfiction
This idea came from @tuney-and-looney I may not have done it exactly, but the bare bones are there.
So this takes place after the scene at the end.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Bugs smiled round at all the employees of the ‘Lucky Duck’ Superstore, happy to see that for the first time in a long time the employees were smiling. If it was up to Bugs he’d have liked to stay longer but it was getting late [or early depending on which way you looked at it] and one by one the employees were starting to drift back home.
“S-s-see you in a week, Mr Scrooge.” Porky said, smiling softly as headed out the door, taking an animated Priscella with him.
“Eh...oi better shove off.” Bugs said to Daffy. “Carols to sing and all dat jazz.”
Daffy - who was in conversation with Speedy - gave him a ‘go away’ gesture and carried on talking.
Bugs’s eyes narrowed but he took a deep breath and reminded himself that Daffy had made great progress already. Waving goodbye to the others he headed outside and took a deep breath of crisp, cool air.
Just as he was about to set off someone bumped into him from behind. Bugs - startled - clutched at the door and managed to stop himself from falling. He turned round, intending to give whoever was imposin’ on his personal space a dressing-down, but the words died in his throat.
It was Elmer. Elmer who looked terrible. His energy had, admittedly, been temporarily restored by Daffy’s change of heart and the thought of a holiday - a actual holiday! - but after working through the night his lack of sleep had caught up with him again. Thankfully by now he was used to it.
Bugs, on the other hand, was standing aghast. There were heavy bags under Elmer’s eyes and his eyes were bloodshot. In one hand he clutched the Hawaiian shirt Daffy had giften him and the other was supporting his weight as he leaned against the door.
The longest-serving worker of the Lucky Duck peered at Bugs as if seeing him for the first time. “Hewwo...” he said, uncertainly.
“Hello.” Bugs said, raising an eyebrow. “Eh...you alright Doc?”
Elmer blinked and rubbed his eyes. “I’m going home.” He mumbled. “I’m gong to sweep.”
“Good idea.” Bugs agreed, stepping out the door so Elmer could get through. “You sweep - er, sleep. Is it a long walk?”
It took a few moments for Elmer to process the question but finally he replied. “No. I’m dwiving. My caws awound hewe somewhere...” And he looked out at the snow-covered lumps that were once cars. “...I think.”
Seeing as Bugs didn’t have a timeframe or, indeed, any actual family to get back to, he helped Elmer find his car. It took a while mainly because Elmer was so tired he couldn’t remember anything about his car except the coulour. As all the cars were under about three foot of snow that was fairly useless information.
Eventually Bugs went back into the store and asked the other co-workers where Elmer’s car was.
Thankfully Sam Sheepdog noticed everything and was able to point out which car was Elmer’s, then helped Bugs scrape snow off of it. [Elmer was dozing lightly on the sidewalk by this point. Normally Bugs would be annoyed, but he made an exception.]
A short while later and the car was ready to go. Bugs had managed to extract the keys from Elmer and had warmed the engine up so the car would actually run. He frowned and looked at the car, then at the roads. Icy. Not impossible to drive on, but not great. Especially for someone already sleep-deprived.
With a feeling of foreboding Bugs shook Elmer awake and said. “Eh..yer cars ready, Baldy.”
Elmer stuttered his thanks and stood up unsteadily, swaying on his feet.
“Are ya sure you’ll be alright ta drive?” Bugs asked, concerned.
The human-toon waved Bugs’s concern away and stumbled towards his car and got in.
The rabbit sighed and went to set off. He hadn’t even made it out the parking lot when there was an abrupt crash and the sound of a horn beeping continuously.
Bugs legged it back to Elmer’s car, which had collided with the side of a wall. Working backwards Bugs assumed that the human-toon had pressed the accelerator to hard and gone skidding into said wall.
Elmer’s crash had also got the attention of the other employees, [those who were still there] and Daffy who all came trooping out to see what had happened.
“What’sth happened?” Daffy asked, in genuine alarm.
Bugs glared at him. “He’s sleep deprived, you idiot, thanks ta you. Yer lucky he’s not seriously injured!”
Together Bugs and Daffy carefully extracted Elmer from the car and laid him on the ground.
“Isth he alright?” Daffy asked, in concern. “He doesn’t need the hospital?”
Bugs checked Elmer over. “Nah...he seems okay. Just needs a rest.” He looked pointedly at Daffy who had the good grace to blush.
A further examination of the car revealed it wasn’t actually badly damaged [although Elmer had hit the accelerator he hadn’t been going massively fast. He just had the misfortune to be parked next to a wall.] and was, in fact, still driveable.
After another brief discussion it was agreed that Bugs would drive Elmer home [having got his address from Daffy] and make sure he didn’t die on the way up there.
Once Bugs had got Elmer settled in the car and popped his seatbelt on [safety first!] he started driving. After about a mile Bugs got bored and put the radio on.
Silent Night was playing. The rabbit smiled and sang along, softly so as not to wake Fudd.
Eventually they made it to Fudd’s house and the rabbit was forced to wake his human companion up.
Elmer started slightly and let out a yell before his eyes settled on Bugs and he seemed to recognise him. “W-where am I?” He murmured looking around in alarm.
Bugs explained what had happened and asked if Fudd was alright to walk. It soon transpired that Elmer was NOT okay to walk - nearly falling over multiple times from the short journey from the car to his front door - and Bugs, nabbing the keys of off him, opened the door and was instantly hit by icy cold.
“Sweet moither of carrots!” Bugs exclaimed, as icicles started forming on the end of his nose. “You plannin’ ta live in an iceberg or something? We should get Playboy Penguin here, he’d feel right at home!”
Elmer made a sound was half-agreement and half ‘go-away-you-annoying-rabbit.’
Bugs looked round and thought ‘in for a penny in for a pound’ [a British expression he’d heard from somewhere] He told Elmer to go upstairs and get into bed, seeing as he was shivering so much, and went about making the human-toon a cup of tea. He had to bang the kettle a few times to get it working but eventually managed it.
When he went upstairs Bugs found the course of all the cold. The window in the bathroom was open so the rabbit went in and closed it. He assumed that Elmer had been so tired he had forgotten to shut it.
“Ya realise the window in yer bathroom was wide open? Yer lucky this is a good area. Oi’ve closed it, now-” Bugs handed the tea to Elmer. “Get dat down ya and you’ll hopefully feel better. You lookin’ forward to Hawaii?”
Elmer rubbed his eyes and nodded, sleepily.
Bugs, seeing this, decided he better leave him to it and headed out the door, turning the light off as he did so.

You think ed would've traded himself for al at the end if al hadn't successfully brought HIM back just before? When his only prior knowledge of what the attempt would yield was the homunculi (who he was trying Really Hard to know as monsters and nothing else)? I mean, yeah he couldn't face life without al and an end to their journey where mom was dead twice over and his little brother gave himself for him and hey lil kicker is ed has all his lost limbs that he never really cared about returning in the first goddamn place. But would he have basically tried to kill himself in this SPECIFIC way if he himself hadn't been resurrected, albeit with the use of a Philosopher's Stone ie thousands of human souls concentrate versus his Literally Only One?
Like what was going on in his head, that he was able to after sloth? Did he fear bringing back his younger brother as a homunculus like their older brother long before them? On the other side of the gate, not knowing if Dante is still out there, if roy killed pride or died trying, if his attempt worked and al returned, did he ever worry that al might have returned or if Ed had brought another homunculus into his world in his place?
I hope im understanding your ask correctly. Suicide tw regarding Ed’s final sacrifice.
If Ed had not died and so Al had not brought him back and was instead used successfully by Dante (whichh eugh horror story right there, i rec’d a Bad End dark horror fic a while back about if Dante succeeded and tbh I think its the most plausible outcome as fucked up as it is) then i quite honestly think Ed is completely doomed. (This isn’t just me being angsty, this is legitimately what I think would happen, like, logically.)
He’s traumatized beyond all hell and the situation is not in his favor: he’s a wanted criminal blamed for everything in Liore and he definitely blames himself as well, his worldview has come crashing down and even if he had that resolve of “even if its not true ill still believe that hard work and suffering pays off” in London, it would be blown to bits as soon as he finds out Al is gone, and that he failed him, and his last moments with his brother were them fighting each other on killing Sloth. Envy is also there, and can overpower a distraught Ed with ease. Any taunts that didn’t work on Ed in the original fight scene would probably be very effective. And Dante is there in Rose’s body because Ed failed her, too.
Al would have been turned into a Philosopher’s Stone, so Ed’s only shot is getting his hands on that. But again, if he fights to get a hold of it, he’s fucked. Dante and Envy combined and with Envy’s “im Hoe’s son” reveal still in his back pocket I think Ed would get killed before he could do anything with the stone.
Hypothetically if he got the stone, I don’t think separating Al is possible (assuming Al’s soul is even There) and I like to think Ed wouldn’t throw out all the lessons he just learned and use it anyway. No matter how broken he is he still has grown up a lot and I don’t think he’d backtrack on his conversation in the car about not using the stone. I think he would drive himself crazy trying to figure out how to get Al back, but because of his growth throughout the series he’d eventually accept the shitty outcome and move on. In CoS, he was left without any closure on his brother too, and he was hella depressed but still surviving. In this scenario he’s at least in Amestris with tons of people who love him and who will advocate for his innocence and help him process his grief like he has never been able to properly before.
So with this hypothetical situation where he gets away from Dante and Envy and is able to defeat them, no I don’t think Ed would do what he did in the OG end (sacrificing himself to bring Al back) if Al had not sacrificed himself for Ed. Mainly because I like to believe Ed has grown enough to move on and that there’s still hope for him even in this sucky scenario, and the circumstance in the og to cause him to NOT do that were just...very specific.
So why Ed makes the decision to die and not accept death despite his growth: the crucial part in my opinion is that Al sacrificed himself and used the stone (and Ed was successfully brought back). Both things they agreed they’d never do. I can only speculate exactly what was going through Ed’s head, beyond what he tells the audience (“this might not work but i have to at least try”). I think Al proved human transmuation is possible under the right circumstances (a body, the soul not having completely left yet, and a proper payment). So Ed knows it’s possible, and is willing to sacrifice everything, even if it goes against his development of accepting death and loss and not fighting the flow of the world because it causes harm when you selfishly pursue what you want, because Al had gone against everything they learned as well. And Al is Ed’s moral compass and everything he does is for Al.
If Al died, Ed would not do something morally questionable (sacrificing himself or someone else, defying the flow of the universe and turning your back on the world and the consequences of your actions to get what you want) to bring him back. But since Al himself did something morally questionable that even Ed would disagree with and say is wrong (which btw I bet Ed was like “shit how badly did i fuck up my little brother to make him do something like that”), I think standards are out the window and Ed is really just gonna pull the uno reverse card since Al played dirty so he’s gonna play dirty. At least that’s how I personally interpret Ed’s decision.
Ed also in general has a LOT to blame himself for in that moment, including EVERYTHING that happened to Al. So...I don’t think he’s thinking clearly enough to truly consider the possibility of making a homunculus. He really intended to die there and was content with the possbility of failing. It WAS an act of suicide imo (because honestly...how was he going to live with himself at that point...everything that happened to him and to al he could easily justify as his fault. he was well aware that sacrificing himself could amount to nothing but was fine with dying), just with an excuse that he might get something out of it.
I don’t think he ever considered that he made a homunculus, because he says he saw Al’s body get put together at the gate and I’m just gonna assume he saw the soul as well with how he worded it as “put together.”
You can also argue that by going through the gate three times by that point (and two of those times just recently) he had extra knowledge and more control over the transmutation to make it successful.
Or you could say my conspiracy theory that Al at the end of the series/CoS IS a homunculus that was just made really really well djsjd but that’s something I refuse to actually believe and I doubt the writers want us to believe that.
I hope I made sense and that I answered your question! This was a fun think piece here.

20 Questions- writing edition!
1. How many works do you have on AO3? Currently, 34, but I have 2 drafts for this week, so...36 soon. 2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 604,000 which is nowhere close to my total word count. *stares at 3+ million words in Google Drive in KH fanfic alone* 3. How many fandoms have you written for, and what are they? Yugioh GX, AFI, and Kamisama Hajimemashita mainly. I've done some oneshots for others (like Inuyasha, and I once did a chapter fic for Vampire Knight). 4. What are your Top Five Fics by Kudos? Arranged Marriage Pt. 1 (504), Twenty First Times (453), Master and Servant (151), Heavy Petting (122), Do You Dare? (119) 5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Yes, I love talking to people and talking about my fic with readers! I love hearing everyone's insight, as I feel it also makes me a better storyteller. And I'm just grateful for anyone who takes the time to chat with me. 6. What fic have you written with the angstiest ending? It's no longer on the Internet, but it was an auto-erotic asphyxiation fic that turned into accidental suicide. Uhh. Yeah. Of ones that are still up, it's A Little Less than Savior, about a toxic relationship between a mentally ill, self-centered sugar daddy and a self-destructive drug addict. Spoiler: the addict can't quit. So yeah. Ends badly. 7. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending? *blinks* I have no idea. Probably my fluff oneshots. 8. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written? I plan to write a KH / IY one. I've written bandom crossovers (AFI / MCR). I don't typically write anime ones. 9. Have you ever received hate on a fic? OH BOY here we go. I got quite a few flames back in the day. But the absolute worst was in 2011 when an anonymous "meme" was going around on LiveJournal. They dragged not just my writing, but me as a person. Like gigantic huge posts about how awful I was, how much I sucked, how they didn't care about me or what happened to me, how sick they were of seeing me around (like seeing my name on the archive made them wanna hurl), and wondering how I had any friends. There was one comment in particular that said if I wrote as many words as the ones I left on the forum, then maybe I'd be a good writer. That fucked me up for years. 10. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yep! I like all kinds, but vanilla is cute, and I also like primal. Ofc, consensual. I do dabble with different kinks, though. Oral is fun to write. 11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? No 12. Have you ever had a fic translated? No 13. Have you ever co written a fic before? Yep! Drawn Together (for AFI) was one of the ones I cowrote. I had others but they're gone now. 14. What’s your all time favorite ship? Nanami and Tomoe! 15. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? I don't have one lol. 16. What are your writing strengths? I'd say smut, character development, and dialogue. 17. What are your writing weaknesses? I struggle with slice of life, sometimes I struggle with fluff, and I really struggle with keeping track of more than three characters all in the same scene at once lol. 18. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? I don't really have an opinion. I don't write it though. 19. What was the first fandom you wrote for? Yugioh GX 20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written? Arranged Marriage, but I've already mentioned that in detail before. XD Tagging: @fandomobsessions016 @lemonlushff and anyone else who wants to do this (my brain just died)

National Heritage Week | Frank O’Connor – Librarian
by Jim McKeon
Writer, Frank O’Connor, was just twenty years of age when he was released from Gormanstown Interment Camp. Cork had been badly hit by the Civil War. It was still a smouldering ruin. Because the city and county had been the focal point of much of the bloodiest fighting the turmoil of the Civil War lingered there longer than it did elsewhere in the country. In the spring of 1924, the city was still edgy. O’Connor had no money and no job. Under the new government all teachers were required to learn the Irish language. For a few months he taught Irish to the teachers at the Protestant school in St Luke’s Cross, near his home. He was paid a few shillings a week for this. He struggled by, a twenty-year old in his father’s patched up, old hand-me-down trousers teaching middle-aged teachers how to speak the Irish language. It was frustrating, especially if you were on the losing side in the Civil War. MacCurtain and MacSwiney had tragically died but he still met Corkery and Seán O’Faoláin regularly. As so often before Daniel Corkery, forever in O’Connor’s background, stepped in and arranged an interview for a job. Cork dramatist, Lennox Robison, who was secretary of the Carnegie Library, was organising rural libraries and he was looking for young men and women to train as librarians. After a tough interview O’Connor got the job. His mother packed his little cardboard suitcase, including a big holy picture of the Sacred Heart, and he set off for Sligo.
Bust of Frank O’Connor - on display in the City Library, Grand Parade
At last he had enough books to read. Even for 1924, the wages were poor, thirty shillings a week. His lodgings were twenty-seven and sixpence. He had a half-crown (12.5 cent) left for cigarettes and drink. He posted his dirty laundry on to Cork every week. His mother washed it, with unconditional love, and posted it back, and sometimes included five shillings for her son. As a librarian he was all hands. His boss said he was untrainable. He kept busy by reading poetry books and getting them off by heart. He was blessed with a phenomenal memory. The only thing of note in Sligo was that he celebrated his twenty-first birthday far from home. After six months he was sent to Wicklow, where a new library was to be opened.
When he arrived a local priest wanted to close down the library. Lennox Robinson had just been heavily criticised and fired from his library position because of a controversial story he wrote about a pregnant girl who felt she had mysterious visit by the Holy Ghost. O’Connor’s boss was Geoffrey Phibbs, an influential fellow poet with controversial opinions on many aspects of life. The two young poets became great friends. Phibbs escorted O’Connor to Dublin and introduced him to Lady Gregory, George Russell (AE) and Yeats. AE was editor of the Irish Statesman and encouraged O’Connor to send him on something for publication. He sent a verse translation of Suibne Geilt Aspires and when AE published it 14 March 1924, it carried for the first time the pseudonym Frank O’Connor. It must be remembered that he was a young civil servant and he may have been contemplating on keeping his job by using a pen name ever since Lennox Robinson’s enforced resignation. He chose his confirmation name, Francis, and his mother’s maiden name, O’Connor. The prominence AE and the Irish Statesman gave him thrust him into literary view. Yeats had great time for O’Connor and said that he did for Ireland what Chekhov did for Russia. But the young librarian missed home and his mother. A vacancy came up in Cork. AE tried to talk him out of it and warned him he’d be miserable back in Cork. It never occurred to O’Connor that he would not return home. Like his father he was, at that stage, a one-town man..
Notwithstanding AE’s forebodings, he accepted the job of Cork’s first county librarian in December 1925. He was just twenty-two years of age. His salary of five pounds a week was more than anyone in Harrington’s Square had ever dreamed of earning. The library was at twenty-five Patrick Street which was still in the process of being rebuilt. Minnie was happy that her son was back home again and his father, Big Mick, was impressed that a pension went with his son’s new job. The city was still in a poor condition. The foundation of the Irish Free State in 1922 augured a period of new confidence in Cork. But in 1924 a public inquiry found:
…limited progress had been made on rebuilding Cork’s city centre since it had been burned down in 1920. Criticism was made of the poor quality of maintenance of the city streets, many of which were still paved with timber blocks. Part of Anderson’s Quay had fallen into the river. The public water supply was of poor quality…There was virtually no building in progress in the city.
In the burning of Cork not alone had many of the character and physical structures of the city been lost, but so also had thousands of jobs and many peoples’ homes. The Cork Examiner reported that thousands were rendered idle by the destruction. The rebuilding was tediously slow mainly because of the shortage of funding. Britain’s refusal to accept blame and pay compensation didn’t help. The Civil War itself and the post-war political divide were also major factors in delaying the building progress. This was another chapter in Frank O’Connor’s Cork, a damaged city struggling to survive. He opened his library over a shop near the corner of Winthrop Street. It was five years since the burning yet major buildings, just yards away, like Roches Stores and Cash & Co, were still rubble. Rebuilding had not yet started in these two well-known shops. In January 1927, Roches Stores finally re-opened for business. Summing up, the burning of Cork had a unifying effect on a people that had been collectively damaged by the event. It also exposed divisions in Cork society at the time. A Church/political divide came to the surface during this traumatic time. It was demonstrated through criticism by councillors of Bishop Coholan for his refusal to condemn the burning. Many republicans were unhappy because they felt the clerical comments were often selective. Frank O’Connor had a huge responsibility for a young and inexperienced man. He was given a cheque for three thousand pounds to set up and stock his library. He made his first mistake. At that time an anti-Catholic bias still lingered in commerce. He naively lodged the cheque in the nearby and more practical catholic bank when the accepted practice was to use the protestant bank. This innocent action caused a major committee dispute and O’Connor was accused of having a personal and ulterior motive. Then, when he insured the building, the insurance company gave him a cheque as a personal thank you. He didn’t want it and kept it for years but never cashed it. He sums up this whole chaotic scenario:
By the time the Cork County Council had done with organizing my sub-committee it consisted of a hundred and ten members, and anyone who has ever had to deal with a public body will realize the chaos this involved. Finally I managed to get my committee together in one of the large council rooms, and by a majority it approved my choice of bankers. There was, I admit, a great deal of heat. Some of the councillors felt I had acted in a very high-handed way, and one protested against my appearing in a green shirt – a thing which, he said, he would not tolerate from anybody.
When he finally got his stock of books together and organised his new library, he decided that he should have closer contact with the rural community. If they couldn’t come to him then he’d go to them. He bought a van, packed it with boxes of books, and drove all over the county. After six months this affected his health. He was exhausted from working long hours driving all over West Cork and he wrote almost every night. In a letter to old Wicklow colleague, Phibbs, he wrote, I’m working like a brute beast. He became ill and had to have a serious operation in the Bon Secours Hospital. He spent two weeks in hospital and six weeks convalescing. It shows his stubbornness when he shocked the nuns in the hospital by refusing to receive the sacraments before the operation.
Cork had a long tradition of theatre and a critical play-going audience, but in 1927 there was only one drama group in the city, the newly formed Cork Shakespearian Company. Daniel Corkery’s little theatre had closed in 1913 and groups like Munster Players, Leeside Players and Father Matthew Players were also defunct. On 8 August 1927 Micheál MacLiammoir and Hilton Edwards brought their touring company to Cork. They performed The High Steppers’in the Pavillion Theatre in Patrick Street. This venue later became a cinema and is presently HMV music shop. After the opening night there was a party at Seán and Geraldene Neeson’s home. Geraldene was Terence MacSwiney’s bridesmaid when he married in England. MacLiammoir encouraged O’Connor to revive drama in Cork. O’Connor was inspired and was instrumental in forming the Cork Drama League. Although he knew nothing about drama he threw himself headlong at the project. Old friend, Seán Hendrick, recalls:
That Michael knew nothing about producing plays and I knew nothing about stage-managing them did not trouble us at all…The producer was to be given a free hand in the choice of both plays and cast and members were bound to accept the parts allotted them. There were to be no stars and an all-round uniformity of performance was to be aimed at.
Undaunted, Frank O’Connor tore into their new venture. Lennox Robinson’s play, The Round Table, was to be the first production. It was its first appearance in Cork and there were some slight adjustments to suit the local audience. The curtain-raiser was Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard. Typically, O’Connor wrote the programme notes, directed The Round Table, and appeared in both plays. The Round Table was a difficult play to produce. It had fourteen characters. Many of them doubled up and played two roles. They had trouble trying to cast the part of Daisy Drennan, but one night Geraldine Neeson brought along a pretty young girl to audition. Although she had a terrible stammer she was a natural actress. Not alone did she get the part but that night O’Connor walked her home. From then on Nancy McCarthy became his leading lady and for years to come she was to flit in and out of his life. The company’s first play opened on 28 February 1928 in Gregg Hall in the South Mall, a theatre venue no longer used in Cork. They got high praise all round especially Nancy McCarthy. They immediately started rehearsing for their second venture, The Cherry Orchard. Cork City was now back on its feet and completely rebuilt and people were getting used to a new freedom and sense of safety. Theatre was a hugely popular event. Plays at that time generally had an Irish theme and written by the likes of Yeats, Synge, Robinson and T. C. Murray. That had been the custom and they were very popular with Cork audiences. But the young Frank O’Connor had other ideas. He was into French and German and Russian theatre and he wanted to offer the Cork public something different.
English drama, no matter how significant it may be in its own setting can have no beneficial effect upon a country which is subjected to cultural influences only from one source. The Cork Drama League proposes to give the best of American and continental theatre, of Chekhov, of Martine Sierra, of Eugene O’Neill and those other dramatists whose work, as a result of the dominating influence of the English theatre, is quite unknown in Cork.
That was a more than subtle dig at Fr, O’Flynn, a local priest, who had founded the Cork Shakespearian Company in 1924. The two men did not get on. From 20 December to 30 December1927 they exchanged four letters in the Cork Examiner trading insults. Fr, O’Flynn signed his letters The Producer while O’Connor used his name in Irish. Seán Hendrick joined in the attack calling himself Spectator. Everyone in Cork knew who both men were. Ironically, they were more alike than they cared to admit; they were two proud Cork men, they both loved Shakespeare and they both loved Irish. Two more plays were produced, The Cherry Orchard and A Doll’s House. Both got fine reviews, but the audiences were poor. Maybe the Cork Drama League was going too far too soon, and Cork wasn’t ready for them. By now O’Connor was spending most of his time with Nancy McCarthy. Nancy was a religious girl from a well-known Cork family. He brought her home to see his mother and the couple went on a three-week holiday to Donegal. They stayed in houses three miles apart. They met every day for a year outside of St, Peter and Paul’s church after mass. They were engaged for a while but it did not work out. She would not marry him. He would not marry in a Catholic church and there was no way Nancy would marry outside the Church. She was one of ten siblings and he was an only child. She felt he was spoiled. This was quite true. By now he was being regularly published in the Irish Statesman. He had a poem dedicated to Nancy published 9 May 1928. The last two lines are filled with melodrama:
That even within this darkness of our body keeps
Communion with the brightness of a world we dream
Frank O’Connor was beginning to feel that AE was right. He should never have left Dublin. He was no longer enjoying his years in Cork. It was no longer the place he had known. O’Faoláin was in America and recently he had found it difficult to talk to Corkery. He made it plain that he was taking sides and that O’Connor was on the wrong side. O’Connor was restless and felt that Cork was threatening to suffocate him. He missed Wicklow where he could talk literature and art to Phibbs and go on to Dublin to meet AE and Yeats. AE would give him all the latest books and gossip, and Sunday evening he could go to the Abbey Theatre and see a series of continental plays, Chekhov, Strindberg and contemporary German plays. Eventually, getting frustrated with the parochialism of Cork and his lack of success with Nancy McCarthy, he applied for the job as municipal librarian in Ballsbridge. On Saturday 1 December 1928 he packed his case and left for Dublin. He still felt it was only a temporary move. Nothing could cure him of the notion that Cork needed him and he needed Cork. Nothing but death could ever cure him of this.
Jim McKeon’s book Frank O’Connor: A Life is available to borrow from Cork City Libraries
Jim McKeon has been involved in theatre all his life and has many film scripts, plays and books to his name. His best-known work is probably the biography of Frank O'Connor. He also toured Ireland and the US with his one-man-show on the writer's life. Jim is also an award-winning theatre director and poet.

April Fools Special Review: Part 1
I had some ideas regarding this day. I initially was going to do a spoof review of a hypothetical Session 3 arc, but given that its looking that the Puppetmaster is gonna be a big wham arc, I think I’ll hold off because if I write say how Kana manages to deduce where Iroha’s family hideout is located and then she freaking dies, that kinda kills the joke. Then I was going to do a spoof review on why Oncoming Storm is the best arc ever, but then it would be too obvious that this was a joke. So instead, because I said I was going to do a new ‘style’ of reviewing, how about a test drive of that? After all reviews aren’t just about the Arcs overall, you can also do reviews on various characters.
So, this is going to be a non-jokey review on an individual character. This is just a test run to see what general reception of these character reviews are. If you guys like them, I have a few characters lined up for this to sprinkle in if the Mod feels like they want a break at some point. If not well…you just get a one-shot character review and that’s that. With that out of the way who is going to get the honours of getting the character review treatment?
Let’s start things off with a strong one. It’s widely accepted that the best Arc overall is the Concert Arc, so naturally the focus should be on one of the Otonokoji Twins and because Kanade looks like she is still got more to bring to the table, lets focus on who’s had the best character development by far, the would have been Ultimate Vocalist, and Death herself; Hibiki Otonokoji!
Important Note: This review is factually accurate up to Connections. As Puppetmaster, the current Arc is still in progress I’m not counting that so if something big relating to Hibiki occurs there it won’t be included in this.
Shattering the Bird Cage
Out of all the SDRA2 characters, the character who got robbed the most in terms of development was Hibiki. I’m not happy with Nikei’s ultimate fate or the fact that Iroha got zero character development but overall, I do feel satisfied with their character arcs, and can see what LINUJ was trying to do. Hibiki never got that chance as she died in Chapter 3, y’know that one chapter which has a notorious reputation for robbing characters of their character developments? *Taka, Hiyoko and Tenko coughs* I already had bad feelings that something was gonna happen to the twins because I seriously thought LINUJ was going to kill one off, and then the other would be a survivor. And it could have worked both ways, Hibiki being offed and Kanade learns to be more assertive of herself, or Kanade dies and Hibiki realises she needs to mature as an individual. As the game progresses though, you get the sense there’s something wrong with the twins. Kanade seemed too calm and too useful and as I mentioned in a previous arc review, I thought that Kanade was lying about her talent as that’s a common occurrence in Danganronpa. But Chapter 3 changed all that. After realising the previous two murders were indirectly caused by her immaturity and that she needs to take responsibility for her actions, Hibiki starts to go through some character development and becomes more useful to the group overall. But then the motive videos and her bitch of a sister slam-dunked that.
Point is, Hibiki couldn’t break away from her sister even if she tried. Heck, the Otonokoji Twins share their FTEs so you CANNOT do Hibiki and Kanade individually. As I pointed out to the Mod, I understood from a lore perspective why this was done, but I still found it very frustrating. But one of the main goals of ASOOT is that characters who got little to no character development or were done dirty, got their redeeming chance. And by heck did we get it. Nikei may have been the first Another character to make an appearance, but he wasn’t the first Another character mentioned, heck he was only the 4th character, as the Twins and Kanata came before him! When Hajime was searching information on people who would get caught up in the Tragedy during the Practical Exams arc when recovering from his ankle injury, he came across information that the Otonokoji Twins as part of their nationwide tour, were planning to visit Tokyo on July 5th. After hearing from the Anons how much of a bitch Kanade was, he made notes to do something about it but nothing much came from it. But as we know the Practical Exams had a heck of a fallout as Hajime revealed his superhero persona Kasugano for the first time to the general public, and the fallout of his exposing the teachers’ abuse meant that a third of the facility staff got fired, including the school’s guidance councillor. This meant Hope’s Peak brought in more people, mainly alumni from previous classes, and among them was Yoruko Kabuga, the former Ultimate Hostess. She requested to see Hajime which seemed very unusual. Sure, Hajime had a bit of a reputation in Hope’s Peak at that point as his preventing of Natsumi and Sato from killing themselves was extremely well known in the school and he has a few friends from the Main Course, but a newcomer like Yoruko wouldn’t have known that, it’s got to be more than that. And when talking to Yoruko, she accidently slipped and called Hajime ‘Kamakura’, but she shouldn’t have known about Hajime and Izuru being linked. Firstly, knowledge on the Project shouldn’t be known to her, and secondly Hajime cancelled his participation in said project. The only way that Yoruko could have known is if she is like Hajime and came from the future. A quick trip to the Physics building and a scan from Umeko confirmed that yes, Hajime isn’t the only time traveller around and Yoruko is another fellow resident from the OG Timeline.
Yoruko now being a fellow time traveller, obviously meant she threw her lot in with Hajime and joined the Quantum Crew. With that Hajime was able to get more details about the Void Killing Game from her, trying to persuade her that Void CAN be redeemed, and said they are no different from him and his friends, who did more fucked up shit then they did. Yoruko was relucent but she did relent in the end. And with Yoruko, Hajime was able to get precise details and after hearing how deprived Kanade truly was and that Hibiki was the biggest victim in all of this, he decided to go to the concert for two reasons. Firstly, to expose to the world Kanade’s true nature and get her arrested, and secondly to rescue Hibiki.
Naturally things didn’t go to plan at first as Kanade showed precisely WHY she gotten away from killing for so long as she tricked Hajime and Chiaki into eating poisoned chocolate and they died slowly and painfully. But little did Kanade or Hajime know is that he had a special power. When bathing with his girlfriends, yes plural, they noticed that Hajime had 9 glowing dots on his back and they are emitting concentrated Tachyonic energy that Umeko couldn’t figure out why this was going on. But when Kanade killed Hajime, he suddenly found himself outside of the hotel with Chiaki and the twins a few hours earlier. He hastily changed his plans and once back at the hotel he looked in the mirror and saw that his once 9 dots are now 8, implying he has up to nine lives, and he used one up. It’s a cool mechanic and it makes sense because whatever power bestowed Hajime with this ability also knows that Junko is a very tough opponent to defeat. It also gives Hajime a bit of a safety net so if things go really wrong, he can just reset and try again.
But eventually Hajime and co succeeded in nailing Kanade and getting her arrested, and Hibiki’s worldview just shatters. Imagine if you are Hibiki for a second. Throughout your entire life your parents have neglected you and all you had was your twin little sister. You did a lot of activities together and eventually discovered you two are really good at music, and thus decide to put a band together, and it became so good and popular that you decided to hit the idol industry. Your band, Melody Rhythm, topped the charts and your nationwide tour is a huge success. Sure, there is that annoying ‘curse’ rumours about how everyone close to you disappeared or committed suicide, but those are dumb rumours by haters, you don’t let that bother you. Then in Tokyo, you meet up with some students from Hope’s Peak Academy and they are looking to scout you and your sister for the prestigious school that graduation guarantees success for life. Hajime, the Ultimate Detective, said that those ‘curse rumours’ aren’t mere rumours, there is in fact a stalker that is after you and your sister and they are responsible for all the disappearances and suicides that have plagued your life. That’s…worrying but surely with the Ultimate Detective on the case, the stalker will be caught, those nasty curse rumours will disappear and you have new friends in Hope’s Peak Academy, right? And you get along really well with him and his girlfriend Chiaki, the Ultimate Gamer. Then one day you and Chiaki are shopping and meet up with some of Chiaki’s friends, who also seem like nice people. You are a bit worried where Kanade is but Chiaki said she’s with Hajime so they will join up with you two shortly. And then Chiaki goes to the bathroom and suddenly, the speakers in the shopping mall come to life. A conversation between Hajime and Kanade is broadcasted across the entire mall, and the truth comes out. All those disappearances…all those suicides…all those accidents…all of them were caused by the one person you trusted above all else, and worst of all, she did it because she had an incestuous lust over you and would kill anyone who gets close to you in order to degrade your mind into a subservient ‘puppet state’ where you do EVERYTHING she asks for. And just like that life as you knew it was OVER.
Unsurprisely Hibiki does not take the news well, so badly she takes it she immediately turns into the ‘puppet state’ where in her catatonic state, Chiaki and Mikan had to carry her to Yoruko’s car, thankfully, Hibiki is a short and light girl so this task is a lot easier than it could have been. I mean if Iroha of all people was able to carry Kanade back to the Monocruise in SDRA2, then I’m sure the combined efforts of Chiaki and Mikan could cope. After Kanade is tied up having been beaten to near unconscious by Sonia, clearing up all evidence that Hajime was there, and Gundham having finished leaving the evidence behind for the police, everyone then heads back to Hope’s Peak, where Hibiki is brought before the psychologists of the school, Koroko and Miaya. Neither of them could make heads or tails of the ‘puppet state’ and for the first few days, Hibiki was stuck in the Puppet State, being fed IV drips to keep her alive. Despite all the best efforts of Koroko and Miaya, they couldn’t snap her out of it, or even figure out what it was. Yoruko though had an idea to restore Hibiki. According to Kanade, the Puppet State does wear off after a while but we don’t know what the time limit is at the moment, or if the shock of finding out her sister’s true nature regressed to into a permanent Puppet State. Yoruko then over the course of the next few days, went through various interviews that the Otonokoji Twins had and got some voice clips of Kanade together in order to digitally construct a command for Hibiki to wake up. Once she got it together, it worked and Hibiki was now awake, having been in the Puppet State for 3 days.
//And so it begins!

Huhh so, here’s some general characterization/fun fact things for Incredibles AU!! I usually don’t post this kinda stuff but since I’m still working on chapter three, figured I might as well!
Phoenix (36), Mr. Incredible/Bob Parr counterpart
Superpower is super strength
Superhero name is Captain Indestructible.
Didn’t really start to realize his powers until late in high school, though he didn’t actually begin superhero work until he was in college. Mia was one of his professors and she ended up eventually catching on to his abilities and offered to be his mentor (as she’s also a super). They worked as a team together up until the point Mia was killed in a severe incident, from that point on Phoenix ended up working alone. He did end up taking Maya under his wing since she was supposed to train with Mia before she died, though she eventually branched out on her own as well.
Was an art major, and had plans of mainly working from home as a freelance artist.
He really does try to be a good dad, okay, and he fucking loves his kids. It’s not his fault that every job the government’s placed him sucks the life and willpower out of him. He studied art dammit, being stuck at a desk job selling insurance was his worst nightmare come true.
Was in peak shape during his hero days, but years of being hunched over at a desk and little to no exercise--not to mention poor eating habits ended up developing into a soft dad bod that he’s a tad insecure about.
Meets up with Maya once or twice during the week, they usually end up getting burgers and reminiscing about the old days together.
Tried so hard to forget about hero work and live a normal steady life with his family, but that’s easier said than done. His entire den at home is decorated with all sorts of posters and articles and lately, he’s been spending just a bit too much time in it.
He’s already blown cover on their family twice, and he’s so torn between wanting to stay put and wanting to resume hero work.
Miles (36), Elastigirl/Helen Parr counterpart
Superpower is elasticity.
Superhero name is Flexuous.
Has been dealing with his powers pretty much since childhood. After his parents died, he was taken in by Manfred Von Karma and trained to be his prodigy.
He ended up breaking away from Von Karma’s teachings sometime later and tried to do hero work on his own, his first instance of this being when he and Phoenix met for the first time. For a while they actually were rivals, before becoming friends and eventually dating, and were far too amused by the media’s obsession with their supposed rivalry.
Was studying to obtain a law degree and had hopes of becoming a lawyer, but when the lawsuits started happening and superheros were all uprooted, he ended up having to abandon any hopes of having any sort of high profile career.
Sometimes works as a legal mediator just to make a bit of extra money/put his law knowledge to good use.
He is the true backbone of the Edgeworth-Wright household. It would be in shambles if he weren’t in charge of it, as hair pulling as such a task is. For some years he and Phoenix co-parented without a problem, but with middle age starting to settle and Phoenix delving into a midlife crisis, he’s more or less been having to manage things on his own.
Phoenix and Miles -
They formally met through a foreign language course they were both taking, though officially had actually met several times under their super personas. It didn’t take long for either of them to figure each other’s identities out, however.
By the media’s standards, Captain Indestructible and Flexuous were rivals to one another, which up until a point was true. When they started dating, however, the rivalry all became a pretense just for the public’s entertainment. Though that wasn’t to say their butting heads and bickering outside of their super suits wasn’t all real, because it very much was.
They dated for about two years before they were engaged, but their wedding had to be put on hold due to all the lawsuits and Super-related scandals going on.
Miles pretty much planned his and Phoenix’s wedding up to a T, which didn’t matter in the end since they couldn’t afford the venue they’d wanted. They tried to wait a while, so they could save up enough money but that didn’t work out, and thus they decided to just go ahead and have a small private ceremony at the local courthouse.
Phoenix knows Miles will never admit it, but he’s heartbroken that they didn’t get to have the wedding they wanted, especially after all the effort he put into it. That and the venue they’d booked was where his parents had gotten married, it’d meant so much to him to have their wedding there and they didn’t get to do that.
They made the promise to each other that someday, when they were more financially stable, that they’d renew their vows and have the ceremony they’d always wanted, however that’s easier said than done when you’re trying to pay off bills and raise three kids.
Adopted Apollo two years into their marriage, then Athena a few years after that, and just recently have adopted Trucy.
Apollo (14), Violet Parr counterpart
Superpower is invisibility/force fields.
The oldest child of the Edgeworth-Wright family.
Has a crush on Klavier, who’s one of the more popular students in school because of course he is.
Struggles with having to keep his powers a secret, which in-turn causes a great deal of self doubt.
Enjoys classic literature and music.
Is stressed 24/7. His family is weird and he just wants to be normal, please help him.
Athena (10), Dash Parr counterpart
Superpower is super speed.
The middle child of the Edgeworth-Wright family.
Her biological mother was also a super, who was killed by an ex-villain. Something similar happened to Miles when he was young, so of course he was all for adopting her.
She has way too much energy for her own good, and has trouble focusing on one thing at a time. Her parents have tried time and time again to find a proper outlet for her to take her energy out on, but nothing’s worked so far and has only resulted in multiple visits to the principal’s office.
She wants so badly to play sports and has begged her parents time and time again to let her try out for one of the teams, though this usually ends in disagreement. Miles will put his foot down over the fear of her having an unfair advantage due to her powers, while Phoenix wants nothing more than to let her go ahead and do it.
She very much loves and cares for her siblings, even if she does tend to pick on Apollo sometimes.
Trucy (11 months old), Jack Jack Parr counterpart
Superpower is transformation, but the rest of her family doesn’t know this yet shhhh.
The youngest child of the Edgeworth-Wright family.
She was an urgent emergency adoption, as well as being a closed one, so not much is known about her birth family.
Maya (30), Frozone/Lucius Best counterpart
Superpower is telepathy/telekinesis.
Every woman in her family ended up developing these sorts of powers one way or another, so when hers started to get out of control she confided in Mia and was promised help in the matter. When she did finally arrive in the city though, Mia was dead so Phoenix took over the whole mentor thing, even if admittedly he wasn’t very good at it.
Despite everything, with Phoenix knowing next to nothing about Maya’s sort of power, he really tried his best to be of help to her and they ended up becoming close friends, even when she went off to do hero work on her own.
After the superhero relocation program went into effect, she started work as a medium as a low key means of using her powers without giving herself away. She now owns her own small “mystic elements” type of shop where she does palm readings and the like, though nothing too drastic since a full display of her powers would give her away and have her relocated.
Has never once been relocated come to think of it, and Phoenix is kind of jealous. It helps that she can be more subdued about her powers, while he doesn’t really have that option.
Pearl lives with her and works in the shop as well. She ran away from home several years ago after a fight with her mother and Maya’s been looking after her ever since.
Is the cool, eccentric aunt to Phoenix and Miles’ kids. She or Pearl are their go-to whenever they need a babysitter (since they can’t actually afford one lmao).
Franziska (33), Edna Mode counterpart
Has no superpowers.
Works in the fashion industry, used to be responsible for a lot of super’s suits before the whole lawsuits and relocation shit went down.
The adoptive sister of Miles, who at one point was incredibly resentful towards him due to their father paying him more attention than her due to his having powers. They’ve both made peace since then, on the account that their father sucks.
Before Phoenix had met her, he was wearing his own homemade suit which she absolutely tore to shreds upon seeing. Ever since that day, he’s been low key terrified of her.
Is essentially that wealthy lesbian aunt who likes to show off around Christmas and dump expensive presents on her nieces and nephew.
Travels around a lot due to her job, so she’s not around often.
Dick Gumshoe (45), Rick Dicker counterpart
Has no superpowers.
Works with the whole Agency that regulates supers and what not, personally made sure that he’d be both Phoenix and Miles’ assigned case worker since he’d already known them a while.
Is doing his best in a crappy situation. Personally if you asked him, he’d be fine with supers coming out of their forced retirement but he’s not able to do much about it in his position. Regardless, he’s still a valued family friend and the kids love it when he visits.
Is married to Maggey Byrde because its what he deserves.
Dahlia Hawthorne (32), Syndrome counterpart
Has no superpowers so to speak, but instead relies on technology invented by her family’s company.
She and Phoenix crossed paths during a supers convention, where she tried to convince him to train her as well, going on and on about how she wanted to be a hero too. But seeing as she didn’t actually have powers and wasn’t a hero herself, he turned her down.
The first attempt wasn’t the last, as she tried time and time again to get his attention and get her to train him, and each time he would refuse. He admired her efforts but the fact was, she was a civilian and even with her technology, she could be seriously hurt.
Inadvertently foiled his attempts to sabotage a villain that ended up causing a railway explosion. She was arrested afterwards for interference with hero work, and Phoenix didn’t see her again for a long time.
Took Phoenix’s rejection very personally, and holds her public humiliation towards her arrest as his fault.
Moved away to the island after she got out of jail and spent the next several years building up a brand new company from the ground up as part of her revenge plot.
Iris Hawthorne (32), Mirage counterpart
Has no superpowers.
Is the twin sister of Dahlia.
She took on many of the company responsibilities until Dahlia was released from jail, then was forced into being her assistant for the new company.
#a lot of this stuff may be subject to change since#y'know#this fic IS a wip and all#but uhhhh#yeah idk#ace attorney#incredibles au

TUA Power HCs Part 1!
Luther
Discovered them at age 3 (He was the first)
He accidentally broke one of their nannies fingers
Had trouble controlling his strength (still does)
For personal training Reginald first made him build up his body
Because just cause he had incredible strength, didnt mean his body could take said strength
He used to accidentally break his arms when he used too much strength
They always healed fast though
As if they never broke to begin with
Baby Luther used to hide the fact that he broke/sprained/bruised his arms, legs, basically any part of his body because he felt like a failure whenever he got hurt
Later in life (maybe at 10?) Reginald discovers that Luther not only is super strong but also had super endurance
(Special Training was not fun that year, Reginald wanted to see how long he could last without food, water, air, shelter, etc.)
After that year, special training was a mix between building up his strength (weight lifting heavier and heavier objects every week) and building up his endurance (running around the room carrying a crap ton of weights, carrying a really really heavy weight and Reginald seeing how long he could carry it before his body gave out)
Diego
They first discovered his ability to breathe underwater first
Diego unlike his sibling absolutely adored bath time as a child
He would stay in the tub for hours if he could
One time his nanny had to leave him in the tub because one of his siblings was having a tantrum
She comes back to a sleeping Diego
Who's asleep in the tub
submerged in water
Was lowkey jealous of his siblings' powers while growing up
Reginald was so disappointed in him for having such a "useless ability"
Poor baby took it into heart :(
Special Training was awful before he found out his secondary power
Reginald wanted to see how long Diego could last underwater (he discovers Diego could last an indefinite amount of time down there)
He stopped liking water after that
He finds out about his secondary power at age 6
He likes to help Grace in cooking and usually cuts up the vegetables for her
He gets really good with the knife
So when Reginald demands he learns to wield a weapon he immediately chooses the knife
At first its was all stabby stabby but then one of his siblings goads him enough to rashly throw the knife at them
His aim is perfect. The knife is sailing through the air, going exactly where he wants it to be, except he wanted it to be in their head and oh god Diego panics, he didnt mean to throw that knife he never meant to hurt his siblings and he loves them and -
The knife is sailing towards his sibling's head and then it suddenly curves
Diego runs up to his sibling and hugs them and apologizes
Diego never wanted to pick up a knife after that
But then through some persuasion (Allison), he forgets the incident and picks it up again
Special training is all about accuracy and precision. All about moving targets, really tiny targets, living targets
Reginald wanted to know how much he could curve, what could he curve and all that jazz
Diego learns Physics because its an absolute must
(He learns how hard he has to throw for it to curve that much, how fast it needs to be to keep in the air even after it curves, how heavy should the knife be if he wants this specific result)
At first its hard and because he can curve anything he likes through pure instinct why does he need to learn Math?
But Reginald wants him to be as accurate as possible
(He motivates Diego by putting Mom and his siblings in situations where one false error could lead to their deaths)
He learns physics quickly
(Five and him bond over physics, Five helps him, He helps Five until Five gets too advanced and well...)
He actually gets super good and can do equations on the fly
People are constantly surprised at the amount of math needed for his powers
Allison
as a kid had absolutely no control on when her powers would activate
it would activate all the time leading to a lot of accidents
one time she snapped at Klaus to stop talking and he couldnt speak until she was able to reverse it
Reginald decided the best way for her to control it was through trigger phrases
she went through a lot of them because it wasnt cool enough for her
there was "listen up", "somebody once told me" (someone always interrupted her, usually Klaus, with the world was gonna roll me so she dropped it after like 3 uses) and a bunch more before settling on the iconic™ "I heard a rumor'
early on she learned that she had to be very precise with the wording or else the rumor wouldnt turn out the way she wanted it to
so special training was mainly focused on her wording, her pronunciation, and her learning other languages
allison is fluent in italian, french, spanish, mandarin, filipino, somali, she also can speak in a bunch of other languages but isnt super fluent
allison was actually pretty ok with special training until she was 10
thats when reggie brought in actual real life people
until that point she had only rumored her siblings (reginald actively encouraged it as long as he wasnt the one who got rumored) and occasionally the businessmen who came over to talk deals and shit
reggie was smart and only brought in people he was sure no one would miss, homeless hobos, drug addicts, people who lived by themselves and didnt have much family or any family at all
at first few meetings, she could stomach the feeling of wrongness
it was still easy for her to reason that what she was doing wasnt really wrong after all the commands she was issuing were really mild (like i heard a rumor you stubbed your toe, i heard a rumor you could play the piano perfectly)
they were just testing the reach of her powers
(could it rewrite your brain? create illusions, hallucinations? make you gain talents you never had? make you feel things?)
(reginald already knew her rumors could affect the memory, no need to test that, same thing with if her rumors could affect herself)
but then the more they pushed the boundaries the darker the rumors, the harder it was to stomach this sense of wrongness that threatened to swallow her whole
(could it override survival instincts? could it fake relationships? could it wreck relationships? can the human mind take multiple rumors at once? how about multiple conflicting rumors? how many rumors does it take to break the mind?)
its a lot easier to deal with special training when you cant remember
(but in her dreams she cant forget, she wakes up screaming, absolutely terrified and cant remember why)
Klaus
at first thought everyone could see the ghosts
actually he thought they werent ghosts cos they didnt appear to him with their death injuries
realized they were dead people when he accidentally walked through them
at first the ghosts were ok (they were mostly the nannies vanya killed so they were nice) they were loud and sobbed really really loud all the time but they didnt actively seek him and so he didnt actively seek them either
he still didn't like his powers even back then when they werent as bad as they are now
since he didnt really have any interest in his powers, reginald forced him to use them more, to explore them
klaus really didn't want to talk to any ghost so Reginald locks klaus into the mausoleum for the first time
this is where everything goes to shit btw
Klaus is absolutely terrified because these ghosts arent like the ghosts in the mansion (the nannies)
these ghost were malicious and horrible and they were dead for so long that they lost any sense of self or humanity in them
this is where klaus develops his fear of the ghost and his powers
this is where klaus loses a grip on his powers and it causes horrible repercussions
he sees the way they died now
and it terrifies him even more
from ages 8 to 11 hes facing the full force of his powers whenever hes trapped in the mausoleum
every session his fear gets worse and worse
the ghosts appearance actually reflects on how he feels about them actually
thats why ben and dave dont look awful
and why the rest of the ghost do
klaus loves ben and dave
he's absolutely terrified of the rest of them
he discovers that drugs numb their abilities when one of them gets hurt badly during training and is on really heavy pain medication
maybe it Five who broke 5 ribs when sparring because luther forgot to control his strength
Five couldn't jump at all when he was on those meds and he hated it
but Klaus? the moment he put two and two together he jumped at the opportunity to temporarily get rid of his powers
he would purposely get super banged up during training just to get rid of his powers and it scared the living shit out of his siblings
they ask him to stop and he does, he doesnt like it when he scares his siblings
but the ghosts get too much and klaus is severely tempted to fuck himself up to get that sweet relief that the pain meds provide
he stumbles upon Reggies alcohol cabinet and discovers that while getting drunk doesnt exactly cut off his powers it gives him this buzz that makes it a lot more bearable
he discovers drugs when he sneaks out one night to get more booze
he starts off with weed and gets hooked
the ghosts are always worse after coming down so he scrambles to get high as soon as possible
he doesnt try anything harder until ben dies
after ben dies he spirals
TUA Power HCs Part 2 is coming up in a bit, ask me if you wanna get tagged for it :)

Arrow 8x03 Brain Dump
ASDADGHSADFSAF!! Back on form this week, with more returning guests, massive sibling feels and concentration on characters that we love, AND THE COLLISION OF FUTURE AND PRESENT TIMELINES IN THAT EPIC ENDINGGGG!!!!!!!!! YAAAASSSS!!! I’m still spiralling now!!!
Oliver and Thea
Welcome back Thea Queen!! Oliver had missed his Speedy 😍
So following on from last week, Oliver travelled to Nanda Parbat (which looked suspiciously like Lian Yu...the S8 Budget was clearly too used up on guest stars to recreate the outdoor Nanda Parbat scenery we saw in S3 😂), where he hoped to find some answers about The Monitor. I’m not actually sure if he intended on visiting Thea, or if her appearance was just a happy coincidence! But either way he was able to tell her about Mia and show her the picture of his new little family GAJKFSDGHFHDSGFS!!!
Source: oliverxfelicity
More below the cut...
In a shock move for Oliver Queen, he is open and honest with Thea straight away about his prophesied and imminent death. Thea wasn’t buying it, and Oliver even made a little sarcastic comment to “take as much time as you like to be upset” 😂😂 I’ve seen a few people say that they wanted to see more emotion from Thea here, and in later scenes. My take is that Thea/Willa’s nonchalant air is just classic Thea Queen Swagger™, but did feel like Willa maybe wasn’t really all that present in all of the scenes (mainly the LoA stuff though really). I however loved her total chill at the prospect of Oliver dying...not dissimilar to us...we know what's what! Our boy will be okay in the end!
Oliver seeks out Talia Al Ghul to use the Leagues archives (?) to find out more about The Monitor, because she owes him one. I love the idea of Oliver collecting his debts for once...this could fill the rest of the season to be honest; he’s racked up rather a few favours over the years. Talia’s help comes in the form of an Indiana Jones-esque scavenger hunt to uncover an ancient League book, and some special Demon’s head sword (?), with interruptions by the pesky Thanatos Guild from last season, who Thea is at war with. Honestly, plot-wise, I struggled a bit this week; even on rewatch I found it hard to concentrate😂 . I just zoned in on the character moments to get me through. But luckily, there were lots of those!
One such beautiful character moment with the Queen siblings was on the side of a mountain, and reminded me a little bit of the Will/Mia scene up the Glades wall back in 7x16, I think? Oliver getting all emotional about missing his family and doubting his decisions every single day just punched me right in the feels 😭😭
Source: feilcityqueen
Then his explanation for trying to find answers before the Crisis: “My sacrifice, my death will protect the people I love. I need my family to be safe.” MURDERER!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Thea reassures him with some sage Queen family words, that their parents also made some questionable choices regarding them (that’s putting it lightly), but it ultimately made them heroes because of them. I think this scene was one of my favourites this episode, if not the season so far. Love me some Queen siblings 💗
The upshot of this random adventure with Talia was that Oliver read that the upcoming Crisis will actually be caused by The Monitor (dun dun DUUUNNN!!), complete with a lovely drawing of him 😂😂 But what Oliver doesn’t know, cos The Monitor doesn’t tell him anything is that there is also an Anti-Monitor, who will be the big bad of Crisis...so this may be a bit of a red herring for now!
Oliver ends his time in Nanda Parbat by saying one final (in his mind) goodbye to Thea, which actually made me sob like a baby out of nowhere, and has done every time I’ve rewatched the clip haha! Thea didn’t see it as a goodbye (cos Oliver dying? Pass!), but Oliver just cracks and won’t let go of her, and now I’m tearing up again 😭😭😭
Source: smoakmonster
I think by the way the goodbye scene played out that that will be the last we see of Thea, and ugh it’s such a shame because she has always brought out something special in Oliver, but we know she’ll be with him the whole time...😭😭😭
Stray thoughts:
They had Thea acknowledge Moira as her namesake (still think it’s a stretch, Moira-Mia? No.) but also had a callback to Thea’s Corto Maltese alias, which made me lol, and frankly, I find a better reference 😂
“All beings burn but a Phoenix rises from the ashes”. The Phoenix references this week were as subtle as a sledgehammer...Oliver is the Phoenix, and he will rise from the ashes following his death!
The Guild calling Oliver and Speedy ‘outsiders’ 🙄🙄 Oliver was Ras al Ghul and Thea is heir to the demon; get your facts right, biatch!!
Thea was a total badass this week, taking down Talia was sooo cool, and shows how far she has come as a fighter/hero.
Nice drop-in that Felicity gave the hozen to William!
Thea and Talia joining forces to raise a female ‘League of Heroes’; better than any faux-feminist Canary bullshit!!
The guest stars are fantastic, but their novelty and distraction is wearing off...I MISS FELICITY SMOAK 😫😫 Next week should hopefully tide us over, though!!
Dyla
Dyla had their own little adventure this week, that echoed their suicide squad mission in Season 2. Bronze Tiger killed a bad guy whilst working for Lyla, and in revenge, that bad guy’s son kidnaps Sandra and little Connor Hawke, then also tries to kill Lyla, but obviously she’s a total badass so that doesn’t happen! Anyway, all’s well that ends well and Dig rescues Connor and his Mum, and that’s about all I can remember plot-wise 😂😂
What we got character-wise, though was really cool! We got the first hint of JJ’s story of being 'neglected' by Dyla...with Dig and Lyla being increasingly away on missions and unable to call him, and in turn finding Connor and obviously starting to fall in love with him because he is the softest little bean 😍 When ickle Connor said “thank you Mr Diggles” I was a goner 😂😂
We saw Dig having a crisis of faith (pun intended) after seeing Earth 2 disintegrate before him, but ultimately he realises (after some Lyla wisdom) that they just have to hold on to each other and do their best. Lyla made a few comments and pulled some ‘I’m keeping secrets’ faces, asking Dig to remember the good times no matter what happens, and I need to know what Lyla knows dammit!! I still believe that she is on the good side, and her appearing to double-cross Dig and Oliver with The Monitor last week is a little bit of a red herring. I need to believe, ok!!!
Flash-forwards
Plot-wise, I actually think the flash-forwards were the strongest storyline this week. Following on from last week we had the team rushing back to the bunker to check on William, after JJ threatened him. This scene brought us another “frack” from Mia 😍, and a mention of Felicity as “Mom” from William 😭, as he managed to electrocute the bad guys all by himself! Will being a techy little badass is a forever mood and is yet another reminder of our Felicity. She is never really gone.
With the Deathstrokes now targeting William and other members of the Star City Unification Movement (SCUM, really?? LOL), William offers himself up as bait. As Oliver’s daughter, you can imagine how that went down with Mia. Badly. Big nope from Mia, who decides on a more direct approach of going to their HQ and kicking all of the ass 😂. Zoe is very much against this, but Mia is all “I know best, we’ll just storm in and take them all out myself” (S1 Oliver anyone?). Said storming in leads to this absolute beauty of a moment:
I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!!
Prior to kicking all of the asses, Mia and William have a heart-to-heart, with Will still angry at Mia for not trusting him to go into dangerous situations. Will thinks it’s because he’s not a fighter, but Mia comes back with “it’s because you’re my brother” 😭 😭 😭
Source: olicitygifs
In another Felicity-worthy pep-talk, William tells Mia that operating out of fear is not the way to go, and that they need to trust each other to survive. I’m really gonna need a Mia/Will hug soon, please and thank you. Honestly, Will is the perfect balance/offset to Mia with his easy humour and quick wit, but he ALWAYS brings the feels as well. He reminds me so much of Emily’s portrayal of Felicity, and not just in the way that his character has been written, but just by what he brings to the role. Ben is a wonderful actor; I adore him and he and William must be protected at all costs!
In the final confrontation, Mia, Zoe and JJ storm JJ and the Deathstrokes, but JJ gets Mia by the throat in an awesome 3x23 Felicity/Slade parallel. Mia couldn’t save herself like Felicity did in this instance, but we must remember that this is just the beginning of Mia’s journey. She has time. Unlike Zoe, who saves Mia, but is then fatally stabbed by JJ 😬 Poor Zoe dies in Mia’s arms. Kat’s acting here was perfection. I may have shed a tear. They had kept Zoe pretty much in the background in the FFs, so I wasn’t particularly attached; if one of FTA needed to die, then I’m good with her. Sorry Zo. But in all honesty, this fridging trope really needs to end. Another female character didn’t need to die in order to elevate JJ’s evil-factor, or to spur on Mia’s hero journey, or Connor’s struggle with his conscience. Enough now. Hopefully, being a bird, Zoe will be back from the dead soon enough anyway 😂
Source: 1-crazy-dreamer 💗
Connor sees Zoe die and goes after JJ. Hard. Tries to kill him. Between 2 generations of Queens and Diggles, the sibling parallels were so strong this week, and I’m loving it! I wrote a little meta here about it. But does Connor have the guts to actually kill JJ? JJ taunts that he doesn’t, Connor disagrees, but then the bright light comes for all of FTA and so we come to…
THAT ENDING
OH MY GOD ALL OF FTA IN THE BUNKER IN 2019!!!!!!!!!!!!
So most people following any kind of interviews or spoilers had a pretty firm idea that Mia would come back in time at the end of the episode. We were expecting it. What the show did was really quite clever...they allowed these pretty big spoilery-type interviews and tweets to be released, heavily implying that Mia would rock up in the last 30 seconds. They let us think we were all clever and had figured it out then BOOM! EVERYONE CAME BACK (minus Zoe 😬)!
I am so pleased with this!! All the paparazzi pics etc that we’d seen of Mia in the crossover etc had made me so happy, but equal parts sad that William couldn’t go back and see Oliver too, but now he can!!!
Uggghhhh it was so fucking goooood!! Oliver’s initial confusion of being beamed back to the bunker, stunned Dig, Dinah and Rene (I can live with their 5-second appearances this season 😂😂), then the camera and Oliver pan around to Mia, William and Connor just stood there!! Mia still had tears running down her face from seeing Zoe die, and she has her Arrow suit on and is covered in blood and she sees her Daddy for the first time in her memory!!!!!!! Just one word is delivered in those last few seconds and it was still one of the best moments of the season so far!!
Mia’s “Dad”, followed by Oliver’s confusion, realisation, then shock was just gaaahhhh!! But my absolute favourite reaction (I decided after multiple rewatches, for science, haha) was William’s 😍😭😍 His eyes full of tears, and utter gobsmacked-ness was fucking sublime!!
Source for all 3 reaction gifs: tylerposey
Next week is going to be so epic!! We have Mia, who has never met Oliver and who has built him up so much in her head and heart from Felicity and William’s stories, and also the tainted Star City archives, getting to finally come face-to-face with him. Then conversely, there is William, who got a few years to know his father, but then left him and eventually believed to have been abandoned by him and Felicity, and has had to live for 20 years until very recently still believing that, and now he gets to see him again, only a few months after little William left! Then there’s Connor, who Dig barely even knows in 2019 and he’s gonna call him Dad and then have to tell him that he nearly just killed JJ, who just killed Zoe, and Rene is right there and I AM HERE FOR ALL OF ITTTTTT!!!!
There’s so much content coming in next weeks episode it’s going to be so beautiful!! I wrote a post of things I really hope to see here, and I’m pretty confident we’ll get most of them and so much more!
Then there’s the implications of what FTA being in the present means for the future!! I had a bit of a spec meltdown here about how this could end up saving Oliver, and I think that’s pretty much just wishful thinking, but either way, them coming back to the present to help with the Crisis and to try and stop future Star City turning so bleak is going to make my head hurt and my heart sing in equal measure, I’m sure! After all, what is the point in having the multiverse, time travel, super powers etc in Arrow if we can’t reap some benefits from it somehow? The ending to this episode, and hopefully next week will be our reward for the fuckery we’ve had to endure with the more sci-fi-esque elements since Larry rocked up and the Arrowverse was extended. And I. cannot. wait.
Thank you to the beautiful, talented, and super speedy gifmakers for blessing us with all the amazing gifsets from this episode!! Mwah! 😘😘 (Uncredited gifs are mine)

Erase Me: Introduction
Chapter One, Chapter Two, Chapter Three, Chapter Four, Chapter Five, Chapter Six, Chapter Seven, Chapter Eight, Chapter Nine, Chapter Ten, Chapter Eleven
Summary: Welcome to the never ending, never changing loop. The loop can’t break, it’s always been the same. Henry never realized he was trapped, but coming back to the animation studio for the “first time” just to see a small, human-like child makes Henry realize that dreams really do come to life.
Read on other platforms: AO3, FFN, Wattpad
August 15th, 1963
Henry Stein was a man of not so many words, yet a man of the paper; while he wasn't great with speaking he could draw out exactly how he was feeling, getting his thoughts down on paper was one of his greatest strengths. That's one of the reasons his wife, Linda, loved him more than the world itself. He was a hardworking, talented man who could've went after whatever he wanted and be successful. In fact, Henry was considered to be a success as he and his former friend and business partner, Joey Drew, opened Joey Drew Animation Studios together, creating popular cartoons back in the day. Henry was co-founder and animator, creating the popular characters of the time, such as Bendy the Dancing Demon, Boris the Wolf, and Alice Angel. While he did have the time of his life working there, his only year there was enough to see that Joey's work ethics were becoming… questionable, to put it lightly. He had begun making erratic business choices, hiring more and more, making people stay for hours, even days, on end; one of the reasons Henry just had to leave, he was missing his wife Linda.
It's been thirty-years since Henry left Joey Drew Studios and moved with Linda to Pasadena, California. Did Henry regret leaving the studio? Sometimes. He surely did miss his coworkers, he missed Joey, he missed his creations, even though he was across the nation Henry never missed an episode of Bendy playing on the TV. Seeing the joy that he helped create on the silver screen, in fact, Henry heard that there were plans to expand on the merch of Bendy and his friends, but he wasn't sure exactly what it was. Besides the merch and plush toys, Henry thought they were making great money based on their popularity. Henry would be a liar if he said he didn't own a Bendy, Boris, and Alice Angel plush toy himself.
Honestly, Henry bought them hoping to pass them down to his children someday, unfortunately for the Stein's while they wanted children and tried multiple times, it turned out that Linda was infertile. For the longest time the news had put a strain on their marriage, as they both so badly wanted to have children someday, but it is what it is, and they did enjoy their company more than anything, so it wasn't an entire deal breaker for their marriage.
Henry had recently retired from being an animation manager at a low-tier animation company. They weren't anything fancy, certainly not trying to compete against Joey Drew Studios (not many companies were brave enough to do that), mainly this studio worked on animations for advertisement purposes. The company was laid back, the owner had more or less "normal" work ethics and didn't work their animators to the bone, perhaps that's why Henry was so drawn into staying for as long as he had. He had only worked five days a week, nine-to-five with great pay for an animation manager. As long as Linda was happy then Henry was happy with his job.
This Thursday felt like any other Thursday since Henry retired and lived the life as a man free from the chains of work, Henry had agreed to go out to the store while Linda stayed home and tidied up the house while he was away. It was an agreement they had in place, Henry does the shopping while Linda did the cleaning, it was a great deal on the fact that Henry hated cleaning and Linda hated going to the store. While Henry was out, he noticed a huge pile of Bendy the Dancing Demon plush toys with various characters that children were going absolutely wild for, begging their parents to buy them one. Henry couldn't help but smile, seeing the joy that his creation brought to children all over America was enough to satisfy him until he day he dies. The best part about these plush toys? They squeak. Something that other plush toys didn't do, although people did complain that the squeaks made their dogs tear up the toys. Whoops. A bit of an unthought of backfire on the designer's end, but oh well. Whatever sells, right?
Once Henry got back from the store he checked the mailbox, as that was normally his job to do anyways. Huh… nothing was in there. That was odd, the mail usually came around this time, unless Linda got the mail?
"I'm home," Henry called as he carried all six plastic bags in at once, not wanting to make another trip out to the car that was now parked in the garage. He wandered into the kitchen to set them down on the counters and floor so he could help put them away. Linda was already in the kitchen, a bright smile on her face, the smile that she gave Henry whenever she saw him. She stood up on her toes, giving him a peck on the lips. "Did you grab the mail, hun?"
"Well…" Linda started, turning around, picking an envelope, "the mail man was told to bring this directly to the house," she explained, handing it to him.
Henry took it from her, noticing the Joey Drew Studio stamp printed on the front, the envelope was addressed to Henry. Odd… He had no contact with Joey or the studio in thirty-years, what was going on? He took a seat at the table in the kitchen while Linda began to put away the cold groceries so they wouldn't get ruined. Henry gently opened the envelope with a letter open, not wanting to possibly damage whatever it was inside. Just digging his fingers around inside, whatever parchment this was written on was rather thick, so it must have been an official letter of some kind.
Pulling out, it was a small letter written in thick ink on a sepia colored paper with a little Joey Drews Studio logo printed on the bottom right hand corner. Henry instantly recognized the handwriting to be that of Joey Drew himself, even after thirty-years Henry could recognize that handwriting anywhere.
Dear Henry,
It seems like a lifetime since we worked on cartoons together. 30 years really slips away, doesn't it? If you're back in town, come visit the old workshop. There's something I need to show you.
Your best pal, Joey Drew
Henry flipped the paper over, making sure there wasn't anything printed on the back. There wasn't, so he flipped it back around to make sure he read that correctly. After all these years Joey wanted to open the studio back up? Last Henry heard was that the studio shut down, he didn't know the specifics, but he knew that it was locked up. As long as Joey didn't change the locks Henry could still get in considering he still had a key to unlock the front door of the studio.
Well, what could be so important that Henry had to go all the way across the country to see what Joey had at the studio? Surely if it was something important he could've sent him a longer letter? A flight from California to New York City was a rather long one. Henry could surely afford the trip, but would it be worth it? It must be if Joey's sending him a letter after thirty-years…
"Bad news?" Linda asked her husband by only judging the look on his face.
"What?" Henry asked as he looked up at Linda who had a small smile on her face. "Oh, no. No, not bad news. It's from Joey."
"Joey? Is he okay?"
"Yeah, he…" Henry trailed off, looking at the letter again, "he wants me to come back to the old studio. He said he has something to show me." He looked back up to see what Linda's expression was. She looked both worried yet interested on what it could possibly be.
"It must be something important if he's sending you a letter," she pointed out, throwing some plastic out in the garbage can. "Are you going to go?"
"What do you think?" Henry didn't want to just up and leave Linda to go across the country without asking her opinion on the matter. Her voice mattered just as much as his wants did.
"I think you should go," she said without missing a beat, which surprised Henry as last he recalled she hated the studio due to the fact that it took up all of his time, especially his time from home when he was gone for days at a time. "It's been thirty-years, besides, I think it would be good for you to see your old friend again, reminisce about the old times," she said with a smile.
"Only if you're okay with it," Henry said as he stood up from the chair, "one-hundred percent sure?"
Linda let out a small chuckle, wrapping her arms around Henry's neck, swaying a little bit. "I'm one-thousand percent sure, Henry. As long as you don't work for days on end again." That comment caused Henry to chuckle, pressing his forehead against hers. What did he do to deserve such an amazing wife?
-----
Henry paid for a plane ticket to head to New York that left Saturday morning, he had packed a small bag as he didn't plan on staying for too long, he had reassured Linda that he would be back in a couple of days. It was odd leaving his wife behind while he went back to the studio, it made him think of the old days when he left for work just to end up staying there for days on end working while the couple was left missing each other terribly. Henry was a family man, no doubt about that, he would put Linda before anything in his life, even a good job, as that's already been proven.
Once the five-hour plan landed in Brooklyn, New York, Henry took a cab to the closest hotel to the studio, so he didn't have to ride very far to get there. Plus, he wanted to do as little traveling as possible around here, Brooklyn was hard to get around as it was.
After checking into his room and getting settled with his stuff, Henry pulled out the old studio key that he had kept all these years. Just in case he would tell himself and Linda over and over as an excuse to not get rid of it. Maybe he actually wanted to keep it in case of emergencies, or maybe he wanted to keep one last souvenir of a company that he loved and helped build from the ground up. Henry would never admit it out loud, but he was eager to see how the studio looked after all these years, probably not in the best condition due to the fact it's been closed since 1959. Four years could put a lot of strain on an unused building.
Once Henry was ready to face his past, he grabbed a taxi and took a short drive down to the old brick building that once held his entire future. The building itself looked to be in fairly good shape, the only imperfection was the letters that once said Joey Drew Studios were missing, only leaving behind shadows and outlines of what used to be there. Henry thanked his taxi driver, giving him a tip before getting out. He stood outside the building for a moment, taking everything in, still not sure what he was expecting from all of this. What did Joey want? What was so important that he couldn't add more to the letter that he sent? It was so vague… What else could be in the studio that Henry didn't already know about? Time to stop thinking and time to investigate.
Henry took out the key he held on tight the entire drive over here, putting it in the lock of the door. Henry was half expecting the lock to reject the key, leaving him no way to get in, but a small burst of anxiety filled his chest once the key turned completely, causing the door handle to click. He pushed the door open with his fingertips, some dust escaped the old abandoned building, causing Henry to let out a small cough as he stepped inside, closing the door behind him.
"Alright, Joey. I'm here. Let's see if we can find what you wanted me to see."

Absolutely no one asked for this or probably even wants this but I’m less than a hundred pages in to Fool’s Errand and Fitz and Beloved are already ruining me so I’m literally just going to make a note of every time they’re being super in love (even if Fitz is constantly obtuse and refuses to admit it) just for my own (in)sanity..
———————part 1————————
Apparently only original posts show up in tumblr searches some imma just have to keep adding on to this rather than reblogging hope you’re ready for a shit so guys!
“I see a love that wends its way in and out of all your many years. That faithful heart has been absent for a time, but is soon to return to you again.” A witch reading his LOVE LINE! She also makes a direct comparison to Molly. Fitz foolishly thinks it’s about Starling but Beloved arrives soon after so we know its about them. HIS LOVE LINE GUYS!
“Your one true love is stitched in and out and through you life. Love will return to you.” You could interpret this as being about Molly as I think they end up getting back together after Burrich has died but I’m way more inclined to believe this is about the Fool. For one its the same witch says its right after the above. Fitz himself also dimises Molly. But mainly the phrasing. The White Prophet and his Catalyst are often described as being interwoven and bound together despite of any distance and time. Like the metaphors are parallel making me think this is about the Fool. Which means… Beloved is Fitz’s one true love! Guys can Robin Hobb just give me a fucking break please!
*a whole paragraph admiring a horse* “The rider was fully worthy of the horse.” He thinks his mans is fine ok!
“He smiled. Something turned over in my heart. I moistened my lips, but could find no words, no breath to utter them if i had. My heart told me one thing my eyes another.” Ummm how fucking in love is Fitz? He hasn’t seen the Fool in 15 years and he’s speechless and his heart is doing somersaults? His eyes are saying wait that’s not how i remember the fool but it doesn’t fucking matter he KNOWS its the fool HIS HEART KNOWS.
“I open my mouth, then helplessly spread wide my arms. At that gesture that said all I had no words for, an answering look lit his face.”Again he’s literally speechless but that doesn’t even matter the Fool can fully understand him. Soulmates don’t need such trivial things as language to communicate!
“He glowed as if a light had been kindled in him” Im sorry thats some romantic shit.
“He did not dismount but flung himself from his horse towards me.” Hi the Fool literally launched himself off a horses back into your arms!
“The horse shied away but none of us paid her any attention.” They’re so absorbed in each other.
“In one step i caught him up. I enfolded him in my arms as the wolf gambolled about us like a puppy.”
“‘Oh Fool,’ I choked. ‘It cannot be you, yet it is and I do not care how.’” Emotions are literally choke him he’s about to start crying, I-
“He flung his arms around my neck. He hugged me fiercely. … For a long time he clung to me like a woman.” Yeah we know Fitz has some old misconstrued ideas about love and gender so for him to even parallel that is a lot ok…
“Until the wolf insistently thrust himself between us.” Ok so not only would they have carried on clinging to each other if Nighteyes hadn’t have forced them apart but also the wolfs reaction is super fucking important as well. Like Nighteyes is Fitz’s Wit beast. He has never loved another person other than Fitz so loyally and without question. When he first meets the Fool he trusts him straight away and calls him pack long before anyone else. Fitz even gets jealous of their bond in the first trilogy until Nighteyes explains that why shouldn’t he trust and love someone so fiercely if Fitz already feels this way about them.
“…wiping away tears. I did not think less of him for them. My own ran unchecked down my face.” Urgh thank you Robin Hobb for letting men cry! But they are both so overcome with emotion and not ashamed or embarrassed to show the other person that they’ve been brought to tears by their reunion like wow they’re so in love.
“He flowed to his feet, every nuance of his grace as familiar to me as the drawing of breath.” He likens simply seeing the fool moving to something that is habitual and that sustains his life I-
“He cupped the back of my head and in his old way, pressed his brow to mine.” I would argue more tender than a chaste kiss.
“He stared at me, his eyes touching the white streak in my hair and running familiarly over the scares on my face. I stared just as avidly…” they’re drinking each other up after so many years apart committing each other to memory again.
“The wide grin that lit his face erased all years and distance between us.” something as simple as a smile can bring them right back together like they haven’t been separated for 15 years.
“I felt something from him; the thinnest knife-edge of of shared awareness. … ‘All down the years’ his voice going as golden as his skin ‘you have been with me, as close as the tips of my fingers, even when we were years and seas apart. Your being was like the hum of a plucked string at the edge of my hearing, or a scent carried on the breeze.’”Maybe I’m smoking crack but I think this might be the most romantic thing ever? ‘his voice going golden as his skin’ why does that warm my heart so??
“‘Had I possessed the Skill in truth you would have known I was there. At your fingertips, but mute.’ I felt an odd easing in my heart at his words, for no reason I could name” Fitz mate thats love. Love and the confirmation and realisation that you had never and would never truly be alone or lonely.
“It was a boys thing to do, this immediate offering to share a prized possession and my heart answered it, knowing that no matter how long or how far apart wed been nothing important had changed between us.” Like you might be men full grown now, having lived completely separate lives, not knowing each other for the last 15 years but your love is so pure it has not been marred by age or distance!
“I blinked my eyes and for a minute I was back in the Fool’s hut in the mountains, healing from my injury while he stood between me and the world” he remembers how the fool protected and shielded him and nursed him back to health.
“He created reality around himself, bringing order and peace to a small island of warm firelight.”
“Light ran up his cheekbones and dwindles as it merged with his hair.”
“‘In the space of a sundown, you show me the wide world from a horses back and the soul of the world within my own walls.’” Before the Fool came Fitz was feeling listless and suffocated by his own life. Is there a more beautiful thing than being renewed to vigor by someone you love? The Fool basically brings him all the possibilities and life that he had forgotten he could have. Also he calls the Fool ‘the soul of the world’ how fucking beautiful is that. and the fool is so fucking happy that he could do that for him.
“We are whole.” This said by Nighteyes which I again think is super important. He feels the same about the Fool as he does about Fitz. And although him and Fitz are Wit bonded and him and the Fool not he does not feel that they have been truly complete without him.
“Like sundered pieces of crockery that snick back together so precisely that the crack becomes invisible, the Fool joined us and completed us.”
“The Fool’s presence was in itself an answer and satisfaction.”
“That evening remains for me always a moment to cherish as golden and fragrant as brandy in crystal glasses.”
“I stayed away from you as long as i could. he offered the words like an apology.’ He literally cant keep himself from fitz. “Any time that you returned to visit me would not have been too soo” And Fitz doesn’t want to be left alone Beloved he wants your company!
“Nighteyes and I spoke as we did was not an effort to exclude him from our circle. It was that our circle made us one in a fundamental way we could not share. ‘Yet once we did and it was good.’” Even the wolf wants them to all be joined again and share their thoughts and feelings!
“He extended his hand to me as if he proffered an invisible gift on those outstretched fingertips. I closed my eyes to steady myself against the temptation. ‘I want it as i want breath itself Fool take it away please.’” He is having to ask the Fool to remove the temptation because he wants that wholeness, that one’s again so badly but he knows it’s a bad idea. It is taking all his will to decline it and I think of the Fool offered again he wouldn’t be able to resist a again. Also this is the 2nd time he has likened the Fool to something as fundamental as breathing.
“‘I dreamed of you once. You were sick or injured. A man leaned over you, I felt he wanted to hurt you so I-’ ‘It’s quite likely ou saved my life.’” Even when the Fool was Amber and Fitz did not know her his subconscious was looking out for her and protecting her. He fucking skill pushed someone to leave her alone without even realising it was her.
“‘Sometimes when I was most alone I mocked myself that I could cling to such a hope. That I could believe I was so important to anyone that he would travel in his dreams to protect me.’ ‘You should have known better than that.’ I said quietly.” Ok so this hurts my heart a little because Fitz always denies that he loves the Fool the way in which he wants to be loved by Fitz. I mean I don’t think that’s true at all because their love is way more intense and intimate than any woman that Fitz has ever been with Molly included the only boundary between him and the Fool is sex which arguable we know Fitz doesn’t always think is related to love cos he slept with Starling. And it fucking kills me that when Amber was in her darkest place she clung on to the hope that Fitz did truest love her but at the same time laughed at herself cos Fitz himself had told them otherwise previously. And here he has the audacity to contradict her. Like how could you ever doubt it? Cos you told them to doubt it mate! Why are you so fucking obtuse Fitz!
“‘Should I?’ He gave me the most direct look I have ever received from him. I did not understand the hurt I saw in his eyes nor the hope. He needed something from me but I wasn’t sure what it was.” Urgh again Fitz is so blind! You just need to hold him and admit to him how much you love him get over yourself and your whole ‘I can’t love you like a man loves a woman’ bullshit cos like the Fool rightfully said you didn’t love Molly cos of what was under her skirts!
“‘Were you expecting me to leave tomorrow?’ ‘I thought you might I didn’t hope it.’ ‘That's good then for you could have hoped in vain.’” They’ve finally been reunited after so long and neither one of them wants to leave the other.
“I suddenly realised the immensity of what i had asked him … like all direct questions I had ever asked the fool I both dreaded and longed for the answer.” This just feels very fucking intimate to me lads sorry to say
“‘Good night Beloved we have been apart for too long.’” Umm the Fool fucking gave Fitz his own name. His true name that he had never told anyone. His name that his own mother called him. They’re gunna ruined me these two.
This is literally only the first chapter that they have been reunited in and my heart already can’t take it!!

Fate/stay night Réalta Nua Part 4 - Unlimited Blade Works Route (2/2)
Day 11-16 Omggg I love their date! Saber is there as well but I think it’s so adorable how Saber is on Rin’s side most of the time, and it’s so cute how Saber loves to eat different things haha. I think the funniest was when Saber hated losing to them in the batting cage so they had to play a lot of games hahaha. But I guess, through the dialogue, I can kinda understand more of why Shirou was always insistent on Saber not fighting in the Fate route. Saber is actually smaller than Rin and she’s apparently weaker than them physically as well if she’s not using her magic power! She must be pretty small then! And omggg lmaooo when Shirou figured out the mystery of the stolen loaf of bread🤣🤣 Shirou thought Rin took it as a late night snack and ate up the whole loaf when she actually used it to make them lunch hahahaha. Honestly, it was really sweet of Rin to plan such a day so that Shirou could relax and have fun, especially since he’s never really found anything fun for a long time and he doesn’t even think he deserves to have fun at all. Honestly though, I still find Caster’s Noble Phantasm Rule Breaker such a…I don’t know how to say it, I mean, I understand that the Command Spells was magic done by one of the three families and since Caster is like from the time of the Gods or whatever, I guess it’s possible for her to cancel it and stuff, but I feel like when powers like this exist, it kinda makes the rules of the war and everything feel so…cheap? Like, I guess I liked the war because each Servant presents different powerful Noble Phantasms and abilities but they’re all respectively things that pertain to their strengths and utilised within the boundaries of the war, but Caster’s ability just negates a lot of that and makes things feel like such a free for all with no rules and that just feels boring tbh. Otherwise, Saber being able to stop herself from listening to Caster’s orders and attack Shirou for a bit so he can escape was saddening, especially with those tears in her eyes. But yeah, the way everything went was really understandable, Shirou would never give up on Taiga’s life (since Caster took her hostage) even if he has to sacrifice his own, so really, it wasn’t a situation they could really win from at all..sad that their cute date turned into this disaster though.
Rin always tries to sound mean to Shirou, but really all you can hear from her is concern for him all the time. She hates seeing him get hurt and always wants him out of the war because he’s too kind. I can see why Shirou is adamant about going to save Saber since her being controlled is his responsibility, but at the same time, Rin is right, there is nothing he can offer to the battle right now, especially with his injuries. Lmaooo at Tiger Dojo 22 where Caster calls Taiga for advice on how to be a better character, hahahah even she knows she’s plain lmaoo. Honestly though, I love how Shirou is always able to tell that Rin is truly kindhearted and that underneath her role as a magus is a normal girl that’s very sensitive and sweet. I love how he got her to release her emotions and cry after she felt betrayed by Archer (who left her for Caster). I love the CG with them talking to each other back to back! And I love how Shirou is always there for Rin to help her get herself together. He’s right though, Rin is someone who resolutely stands on her own path, even if she regrets something, she will retaliate and destroy it to make her path what it should be to her. She gets sad but she never gives up, and I can see why Shirou would admire her so much tbh. It’s so cute how Shirou so honestly told Rin he likes her a lot, blushing Rin is so adorable!
I feel like Caster’s past is supposed to make me feel “something” for her but honestly, she still feels as bland as she is. Maybe it’s because ever since she was born, she’s been (literally) controlled by others, forced to abandon her country and kill her brother etc, used as a scapegoat to be the epitome of crime and thus viewed as a witch, but everything about that story is kinda just told to you as a reader, so really, it’s hard to feel anything for her. Like, I feel sorry for her that she had to experience all that, and I get how grateful she is towards Kuzuki for saving her when she nearly disappeared (after killing her crappy Master), but as she says, she really has no motivation or goal aside from helping Kuzuki and he himself doesn’t really want anything either, so they’re kinda like a duo that has no real purpose than to exist and fight if confronted and I guess fight to find a place for themselves.
Tbh, Shirou always admires Rin for being able to go full on ahead without regrets, but I think someone like him who is able to be so decisive on walking on the path he decides and is ready to accept it even if it’s “wrong” is something very admirable as well. I LOLed when Shirou and Rin went to Illya’s castle (to ask to co-operate against Caster) and Illya’s “alarm” magic that alerts her to them entering the forest zapped Rin so badly compared to Shirou, it was hilarious hahahaha. Honestly, seeing Berserker so desperately protect Illya from Gilgamesh and Illya being so scared really shook me. But I think seeing their past was worse, they were both used and controlled by the Einzberns to get the holy grail, and Illya was forced to go out in a freezing forest with just Berserker so that they could train her into controlling him properly. And I guess it was then that they both realised in their hearts that the only ones they could trust in were each other. I always wondered why Illya didn’t seem to do anything aside from rely on Berserker to fight, but after the flashback, it seems that all those Command Spells on her body that were put by the Einzbern family are there to control Berserker and that puts a great toll on her body and probably even shortens her lifespan. It used to practically destroy her and make her scream in pain, but now it’s a bit better, and I guess that’s why Illya just allows Berserker to do everything for her, it’s mainly because it’s cumbersome enough for her to just control him. But yeah, Gilgamesh slashing her eyes and stuff made me feel so uncomfortable and sad. In the end, Illya’s just a kid… But yeah, I totally understand why Shirou couldn’t help but appear to try and help Illya knowing it was futile. But! I still blame him because him revealing himself also endangers Rin and he should have thought more about her. Buuuut, I’ll admit that it wouldn’t be like Shirou if he was able to restrain himself, and I think I would have been disappointed in him haha. He’s lucky Rin was there to help save him tbh, and I guess we should be glad that Shinji is Gilgamesh’s Master lolll, I mean, if it was anyone more useful, they would have been totally screwed~
Hahahaha, it was so cute how Shirou and Rin kept arguing about who should be running away when Lancer appeared. It was hilarious how Lancer waited for them to finish arguing hahaha. HAHAAHA it was such a tense atmosphere when Shirou agreed to co-operate with Lancer, but then when he said under one condition, and whilst everyone was wondering if he wanted to know Lancer’s Master or something, all Shirou wanted was for Lancer to stay away from Rin hahahaha, he’s so cute🤣🤣🤣 I’m amazed that Archer could create a shield (Aias) that blocked Lancer’s Noble Phantasm, it wasn’t easy for him to block it, but nevertheless, he did end up blocking it. I guess that’s the benefit of being able to project weapons or shields etc that are strong against each Servant’s respective Noble Phantasms. Rin is so cool though! She got Caster to let her guard down and then used martial arts to defeat her! Well nearly, because Kuzuki comes to save Caster since he’s stronger than Shirou, I mean, it’s pretty amazing that Shirou could fend him off for so long. Guess they should be glad that Archer wasn’t a traitor and dealt the last hit attempting to kill Kuzuki, but Caster sacrificed herself to protect him. It’s kinda funny though, Caster’s life as Medea was ruined because of a “man” (she was controlled by a God but the God made her love that man so I guess same thing?) and even as a Servant, even though this time was her first time truly falling in love, nevertheless, she still ended up giving her life up for love, and it’s always for a man that will never love her back. It’s nice to see that even though Kuzuki was pretty disinterested in everything, he was ready to fight until the end even after Caster died, tbh although Shirou wanted to stop it and save Kuzuki, I think Kuzuki would have preferred being killed by Archer as an end rather than surviving. Rin really does save Shirou all the time though haha, it was thanks to her smart thinking of taking Saber as her Servant that they could fend off Archer from killing Shirou.
Honestly though, Lancer is such a great guy. He really knows how to appreciate Rin hahaha, I couldn’t believe her “thanks” to him stopped him from wanting to really kill Archer when they had their duel, and even now when she’s kidnapped by Archer (to ensure Shirou will come to save her and thus fight him), he’s so ready to go help them out. I guess Shirou was right to tell Lancer to stay away from Rin hahahaha. Honestly, it’s so heartbreaking to hear Archer talk about how he had to keep killing in order to save many, and that’s why he feels that he must kill Shirou, because if he doesn’t kill him, he’s going to become him, the hero Emiya. I think it’s so heartbreaking to hear that because you can feel how much Archer wants to kill himself, and in order to do that, he must kill Shirou. He thinks that his existence gave happiness to no one and only caused death and destruction since he killed people to save people…and it’s probably disheartening for Saber to hear this too, since she and Shirou are similar. I guess that’s why she wanted to stay here instead of going to save Rin (from Shinji) with Lancer.
Omg, I didn’t realise that Archer was executed because he was accused by the person he saved, even though he was the one who gave his all to stop the conflict, he was accused of starting the conflict and died for that “crime”. I think something that really hit me was when Archer described his role as a Guardian, he calls it being a “cleaner” because “they do not save people. All they do is eliminate harmful people, without distinction of good or evil. They do not save people in despair. Instead, they eliminate people in despair in order to save others who are enjoying life.” It’s so true. It’s something that’s ever present in life, we are always eliminating the people who are unable to live happily, we are always killing them because of the destruction they cause, and it’s understandable, but at the same time, it’s exactly against what Shirou desires. He knows that he can’t save everyone, but he wants to, and at the least, he wouldn’t want to kill others he wants to save in order to save others. I feel like the more Archer killed, the more he felt like he was killing the people he was supposed to save and that really destroyed him. And because he became a Guardian, he didn’t even have the choice to not do these things. The world itself had already decided that these people were harmful to it, so Emiya had to kill them, all the times he was summoned, he had no free will to decide for himself what should be done and what shouldn’t be done to save the world, the world already decided it and willed him to just kill them to “save” the world. The world deemed them irredeemable and unable to be saved, and Emiya had to accept that, but it must have been such torture to have to experience that over and over again. Even if killing Shirou doesn’t cause Archer to disappear, I’m sure the satisfaction of killing the past him that he thinks is silly and caused all this would at least relieve Archer somewhat.
Kotomine definitely let his guard down against Lancer. Although he used his Command Spell to order Lancer to kill himself, he hadn’t even disappeared yet and he already let his guard down! In other news, Shinji is a shit as usual~ and seriously, after seeing Kotomine get stabbed by Lancer, I don’t know why the dumbass Shinji doesn’t think about how Lancer could still be a threat, and what makes him think Gilgamesh will help him with such a lowlife job lol. It was really cool when Lancer used bits of his last strength to protect Rin until the end though, he’s such a hero. I also liked how resolute he was in death and was ready to burn the whole room to ashes to make sure Kotomine wouldn’t survive. I guess Kiritsugu’s last words of relief over Shirou saying he’ll be a superhero in his place was like a curse to Shirou. He said it because he admired Kiritsugu and wanted to be just like him, but he probably didn’t realise how much it really meant to him until he said it, and because of that, Shirou had no choice but to become a protector of justice, he couldn’t disappoint the guy who was so happy to have found him alive in that fire, he couldn’t disregard a dying man’s wish, and really, he just wanted to be just as strong as his father. In this sense though, there’s a similarity between Shirou and Rin. The both of them have been “passed on” an ideal or dream that they must fulfill. For Shirou, he needs to save people as a superhero. For Rin, she needs to win the Holy Grail War as the successor of the Tohsaka family and for her father who died because of it. But really, you wouldn’t say that Rin’s will is hypocrisy, because she has practically made that dream her own, and I think that can be said for Shirou as well. Even if it all started from someone else, it doesn’t mean it’s a “borrowed” ideal, because it had already transformed into their own ideal with the strength of their convictions and beliefs. And honestly, even if it is a borrowed ideal, it’s fine, because that is the path they chose, whether it was for someone else or not, this is what they chose and what they will commit to do. In that sense, who can really judge them? I honestly felt really touched when Shirou relentlessly attacked saying his dream is not a mistake, because he believes in it and will continue to believe in it no matter what. Really, I can’t help but feel so affected by Shirou’s will and determination all the time, he’s so mentally strong, it’s crazy. It was kinda relieving but at the same time hurtful when Archer admitted his lost and was stabbed by Shirou. In the end, this was never really a physical fight, because Archer could have killed him if he really wanted to imo, in the end, it felt like everything was set up by Archer to see the strength of his ideals again within Shirou. Archer had experienced tragedy after tragedy that deteriorated his heart for too long, so I feel like in a sense even though he hated his younger self, he also wanted to rekindle and remember the emotions he once had towards his ideal of becoming a superhero. I feel like he wanted to see whether he would be able kill himself first or remember why he was so adamant on being a superhero and how strong his mental fortitude towards it was first, so it was great that young him aka Shirou succeeded in showing him once again why his choice wasn’t wrong and wasn’t a mistake.
Anyway, Gilgamesh always ruins the mood, doesn’t he?! So the reason why Servants have to fight until the last one is because their heroic spirit souls are used as pure magical energy afterwards to kinda “create” the holy grail contents and give the remaining magus/Master power to use it for what they want? Lmao at Gilgamesh leaving the castle and wanting to change locations because the castle was burning down and he didn’t want ashes to go on him. You know, now that I think about it, if all the people Archer witnessed destroying the world was like Shinji, yeah I think I would feel the same hatred towards humanity and their ridiculous conflicts too. Ooh I guess although I’ve seen it, it never really clicked to me that Gilgamesh stopped Illya from becoming the holy grail by taking out her heart and putting it inside Shinji so he would become it? HAHAHA omg, Rin and Shirou need to have sex so he can share her magical circuits and use her magical power to create the Reality Marble (where Archer can project and use all those swords etc) and fight against Gilgamesh?! No wonder why Rin became so shy mid way through the strategy meeting hahahaha. Well, that was a pretty long and detailed H-scene! Rin looked really cute though loll.
Hmmm how interesting, so Servants who are magi can summon other Servants, but they must have a host to keep the Servant in this world, and for Assassin, that is the mountain, therefore, even though Caster is dead, as long as the mountain exists, Assassin will be there to protect it. However, he still needs magical energy, and so even though he’s still “alive”, he will disappear soon, since Caster only gave him a limited amount of magical energy. Although I guess the main reason he still stands is because he really wanted his life to end in battle with Saber. Assassin’s true identity is rather saddening. He’s just a no name guy that was most fit to be seen as the guy “Sasaki Kojirou” because he can perform techniques Kojirou could, and so he is assumed to be him according to what this Kojirou character should be. In the end, he’s “nothing”, and I guess such an existence, being able to fight with Saber before he disappears would be a nice thing to do instead of meaninglessly disappearing. I mean, it’s understandable that Saber is in a rush to distract Gilgamesh so that Rin and Shirou can destroy the grail, and then they can all destroy Gilgamesh together, but honestly, that’s not Assassin’s problem and he has no reason to stand aside when Saber did once promise him that she’ll fight him properly again. I guess that means it’s time for Shirou to shine haha. I think Shirou’s “impossible” dream really reminds of Kaoru’s dream in Rurouni Kenshin. Honestly, their dreams are probably naive, probably impossible and probably ridiculous to others, but just like Kenshin, I think you can’t help but want to believe in it hoping that it can be possible, and continuing to fight to make it possible. And I really feel Shirou’s resolve in that. It took a while but I’m glad he finally realised that what he could do wasn’t infinitely create swords to fight against Gilgamesh, but instead create the Reality Marble that contains an infinite amount of swords aka unlimited blade works. But really, I’m happy that regardless whether it be the Fate route or this one, Shirou is the one who helps Saber realise that she needs to move forward, well, Archer and his burdens is the one who made her realise it in this route, but they’re both Shirou after all! I’m just glad that she’s not living in regret anymore and can go back peacefully after destroying the Holy Grail.
Although I’ve been rather sceptical with how a lot of fights went in this route, I think Gilgamesh against Shirou is probably the most satisfying and understandable to me (alongside Shirou against Archer), mainly because it’s true that Gilgamesh had always won his battles through the amount of Noble Phantasms in his treasury and how relentlessly he uses them as “arrows” rather than as swords. He lacks the skills and techniques to use them because he is merely an arrogant owner of them. And that’s why I think it’s understandable how Shirou can face off against him. Not only is Shirou physically capable, his Reality Marble gives him swords right by him, he can pick them up much easier than when he had to project them over and over, so in the end, it becomes more of a battle mounting on their determination and strength, which Gilgamesh lacks because he lives thinking that he doesn’t need to work hard for anything since everything is already his. And seeing him lose because of that is much more satisfying than in the Fate route because what Gilgamesh really lost against here isn’t something like Saber’s OP armour, he lost against his own lack of skill and what he prides himself in, his own arrogance. He let his guard down against a “faker” that can only do imitations of his swords, and was unable to recover his composure facing off against someone much “lower” than him being able to overpower him, even if it’s only for a bit of time. Not sure how I feel about the black void from the destruction of the Holy Grail coming to consume Gilgamesh though… Lmao at Tiger Dojo 24, the hanging mini Shirou getting smacked by Taiga and being blown away like a star was so funny hahahaha.
I find it quite a miracle that Archer was able to survive this long into the end game and was able to watch over their battles and save both Rin and Shirou in the last minute! Like, he was already weak at the castle, fought with Shirou, took the hit from multiple Noble Phantasms by Gilgamesh and he was still able to project so many weapons to get Rin away from the Holy Grail monster and then project another one to prevent Gilgamesh from dragging Shirou into the void?? I guess I should be impressed rather than in disbelief haha. Honestly though, I do believe that Rin is Shirou’s “true love” because you can really see how much Archer still loves and cherishes her after all that he experienced. His silly banter with her was so similar to how she and Shirou interacted, and I think the fact that he still held on to her jewel (that ended up allowing her to summon him) is enough reason to really see how much he thought about her and how much he wanted to be with her. But at the same time he couldn’t be with her because it was his love and admiration for her that probably allowed him to move forward and follow his dream/ideal and end up becoming Emiya the heroic spirit. I honestly wanted to cry when he asked Rin to support himself and take care of himself aka Shirou. And I honestly believe in Archer’s belief that if Rin is beside Shirou, he won’t become the regretful hero Emiya. It’s saddening that even if Shirou leads a different life, Archer will probably always still be a heroic spirit doing what he had to do before. The only relief to be had is that after encountering Rin and Shirou here, he’s kinda rejuvenated himself by being reminded of past him’s beliefs, wishes and his resolve for becoming who he has become today. So, he’ll be fine, even if it’s painful. Archer’s last smile looked so much like Shirou. And omggg, something I never realised! In the beginning, Archer chose to call her Rin and continued calling her that because calling her Tohsaka is something Shirou does! By coming to terms with his own self as Shirou, he can finally feel like he can call her Tohsaka like he used to… It’s so cute and bittersweet😭😭
I loved how adorable Shirou and Rin were (in the true ending) when she kept asking if he would come with her to London as her apprentice at the Magic Association training academy or whatever and Shirou was too shy to openly say yes when it was obvious what his answer would be haha. The good ending was something I would have also liked to see in the Fate route but I guess seeing it here is nice too! It’s a bit like a harem end lmao, but I think Saber deciding to stay in this world to see if she can find her own answer by watching over Shirou (since Archer said she is wrong but she doesn’t really understand in this ending), so now Shirou, Rin and Saber can always hang together! It’s so cute honestly~ It’s kinda like how everything was in the beginning of this route, so playful, fun and happy with three of them haha.
Overall, I really liked UBW. Imo, I still think that the fights with Caster etc were the weak parts of this route and it can kinda detract your attention because I didn’t think it was really interesting lol. But everything is worth it when it comes to Shirou’s fight with Archer and then Gilgamesh. It really felt like everything that was built up since the beginning was made worth it. It was nice to see how much Archer and Shirou were natural enemies against each other without Shirou even realising who he was, yet they both couldn’t help but be influenced by the other. I thought Archer’s story really made UBW such a highlight emotionally. His story was well developed and nicely explored against Shirou’s ideals and you could really see how much they couldn’t help but clash. I honestly really loved how no matter what Archer did that seemed contradictory to what “Shirou” would do, in the end, he was Shirou through and through with how soft of a guy he really was. I really loved the concept of Shirou being the one to make possible future him/Archer realise why his original ideals were so important to him and why despite everything, he really doesn’t regret how everything came to be anymore. I really think that it was such an important growth to both Archer and Shirou and I loved it. It allowed them both to further their resolves and be proud of the path they’re walking on. Another great thing about this route was Rin, she’s such a great heroine that totally matches well with Shirou because not only does she drive him to become a stronger person like her, Shirou also makes her want to improve and be as driven as him even when things don’t go her way. I just think that not only do they work to bring their best out of each other as people, they’re also very capable in being silly with the other. They’re just as cute as they are strong and I love their relationship. As for the other Servants, I think only Lancer and Assassin really hit me emotionally. Lancer being such a ladies man and fighting for his own beliefs is something I always enjoy seeing, and Assassin finding meaning by being able to fight with other true swordsmen was something I couldn’t help but feel happy for. It really felt like a 8.5-9/10 route!👌
And nowww, on to the last route! Since the last Heaven’s Feel movie isn’t out yet, I don’t really know what happens at the end of it, so I guess aside from the Fate route, this will be the other route I don’t have much idea about what will happen and that kinda makes me excited haha!

Cw: euthanasia, animal death, medical, sadness, anger, animal neglect, cancer
I've made the decision to get Max PTS tomorrow (Monday 20th), she's not doing well.
Over the last 6 months we found out she has problems with her ovaries, adrenal glands, kidneys, blood and we never found out why she passed so much blood and clots that time we ended up at the emergency vets back in October. Even with the exploratory surgery, we just found more confusing problems. She died 3 times during that surgery because of the enlarged, hardened adrenal glands they found which means she can't really have surgery again without massive risks.
She responded really badly to the antibiotics given for a recent kidney infection (Grem responded fine) so she still has that infection and she was obviously in pain whilst toileting with fresh blood last time. She lost almost 10% of her body weight over 6 weeks and then hasn't eaten for the last 4 days. She looks really sad and just moves between under her logs and under her hammock. Even if there's a wiggling locust in front of her face she doesn't care.
It's all the more obvious how ill she is because Gremlin, in the tank below, is very lively and well.
I feel bad and its hard because she's still alert and reacts to me and can move around the tank. But realistically I'd always prefer to make the decision too soon, rather than leaving it too long and seeing her suffer.
I'm upset and sad because she's such a lovely, sweet little girl with a brilliant personality and she could have had a great life but I just got her too late to save her from the life she had before.
And I'm so ANGRY at my dad for not taking care of her and being selfish and not doing ANYTHING to ensure his animals were given even the basic necessities of care when he knew he had cancer and that eventually he wouldn't be able to care for them any more. Using her to try make money from laying eggs. And not giving any of his reptiles the care they deserved, throughout his whole life, healthy or not. If my sister hadn't stepped in, the 6 reptiles he had would have either died of starvation, malnutrition, hypothermia, or infection due to poor/no hygiene.
I know I wasn't the perfect caregiver and I made some mistakes (mainly cos I had to basically learn reptile care overnight when they got dumped on my doorstep) but it was his FUCKING FAULT that she didn't have a happier life.
#likes are fine#positive or supportive comments about Max are ok#but dont even think about interacting re my dad and the cancer situation#its 100% off the table#there were many reasons i stopped talking to him 10 years before he died and this is just extra to pile on top#long post#max

*My masterlist link can be found in my blog description*
Request: “I saw that your request were open So I've had this idea for a head cannon for tate so the reader was one of the first people to die in the house and she becomes a guardian spirit who protects the living then helps them when they die But then one day the langdons move in and she feels especially responsible for tate, They fall in love But then he goes and kills everyone and she gets really upset and kind of disappears untill violet moves in and reader and tate work it out? Sorry it's so detailed.” -anon
Summary: You’re the first person to die in ‘Murder House’, thanks to your mother, Nora. Because of this, you’ve become a Guardian Spirit to the inhabitants of the home (living and dead), and you end up finding yourself drifting close to Tate Langdon. Only for it all to blow up in your face.
Warnings: angst, unhappy ending, self-harm, drugs, murder, references to a high school shooting, just over all pretty dark
Pairing: Tate Langdon x fem!Montgomery!reader
Word Count: 2,100+
A/N: Okay, so… I changed up the request slightly, mainly the end, because I didn’t feel as though a happy ending fit into this story. At least not right now. So uhhh don’t hate me, k thx
-You died a few weeks before your seventeenth birthday, shot in the heart by your mother, Nora Montgomery.
-With her ever-growing insanity, it was only a matter of time before she did something rash; you just hadn’t expected that rash decision to be murdering her whole family, and then herself.
-But that was nothing compared to the shock of opening your eyes, moments later, and staring down at your bleeding corpse. Blood seeped out of your chest and onto the wooden flooring of your bedroom, the red a stark contrast to the pure white of the room.
-Down below, in your basement, you heard the distinct sound of a gunshot going off, followed by another, before the house was encased in silence.
-As badly as you wanted to, you couldn’t feel anger towards your mom. For some reason, the emotion felt foreign and unknown- instead, you felt content and understanding of your situation.
-A few months passed, and a couple moved into the home. During that time, you had done well to avoid your parents and your baby brother locked away in the basement. But now, with the couple approaching their wedding day, your mom seemed hell-bent on ruining it for them.
-She was constantly whispering in the husband’s ear, trying to get him to impregnate the wife before the wedding. Even after all this time, your mom wanted nothing more than to hold a baby in her arms, even if it wasn’t hers.
-You did your best to stop her, to get her to lay off the couple and let them be, but she only ignored you. You found yourself pushing your pure energy into the husband, fighting against your mother’s wishes and trying to steer him off of her course. But, you weren’t strong enough.
-The day of their wedding, moments before they’re set to leave the house, the husband killed his wife in a fit of rage. His mind had gone insane from the constant pushing and shoving from you and your mother, and the only option to get away from it, he thought, was to kill his wife. So, he did. But once she was dead, a fog had lifted from his mind, and he ran away.
-The cops never found him, and the Murdered Bride joined your family as a spirit in the home.
-Years passed and more and more people moved into the home. But almost none of them got the chance to move out. The house had gained an energy through the years, a dark one filled with evil and insanity.
-You protected as many of them as you could, trying to keep the vengeful spirits away from the living, and the living away from their own insanity. You succeeded a good majority of the time and managed to get at least one family member out of the home from time-to-time.
-But, usually, your time was spent keeping the ghosts from exploding with rage and sorrow, convincing them that anger wouldn’t help fix anything.
-This was the tactic that subdued them, kept them from showing themselves to the house members and causing chaos and mayhem. There were a few that refused to listen to you and did as they pleased. You gave up on them a while ago.
-By the time the ‘80s had rolled around, your home had been labeled the Murder House, and the death count was rising with each passing decade.
-However, in the early ‘80s, a new family moved in- the Langdons. The mom was a piece of work, and the father and the maid were having an affair. At this point, you’d nearly given up on guarding the living and the dead from the horrors of the house.
-Constance, the mother, had found out about her husband’s infidelity and killed him alongside the maid. You couldn’t say you were surprised.
-The family moved out, and you assumed the mom had gone to jail for her crimes.
-But then, in 1994, you were shocked to see Constance returning to the home, followed by her three children, moving boxes in hand.
-They’d come back.
- “Welcome back to hell.”
- Tate. You remembered Tate from when he used to live here, but he was only a child then, and he had spent most of his time outside of the home. Now, though… now he was a teenager, dressed in nothing but black, with an angry scowl on his face.
-Tate spent most of his time in the house now, locked away in his room with a couple grams of blow, an ounce or two of weed, alcohol, music, and razor blades.
-You often found yourself sitting on the edge of his bed, watching him wither away as the weeks passed. Finally, you couldn’t take it anymore.
-You materialized just as he had snorted two rails, a razor blade gleaming with dried blood resting beside the white powder.
- “Please stop doing this.” You didn’t know why you suddenly found yourself caring about him and his actions, after all, your attempts had been futile in the past years.
- Tate jumped out of his chair at your voice, whipping around with terrified eyes. “Who are you?” he screamed, hands shaking as blood dripped from his forearm to pool in the palm of his hand.
- “The guardian spirit of this house, I guess,” you shrugged, standing up as well. “I don’t like watching you hurt yourself, it pains me.” Tate was a few inches taller than you, so you were forced to tilt your head up in order to look him in the eye.
- “W-why do you care?” he choked out, pulling down the sleeve of his hoodie and shoving the arm behind his back.
- “I already know what you’ve done, there’s no point in hiding it. But, I care because I can. Because I’m the only one who can. You’re smart and beautiful, Tate, there’s no reason to be harming yourself in all these different ways.” Your voice was soft and gentle as you spoke, and the tension that had been residing in Tate’s shoulders slowly melted away.
- “I can’t just quit. It’s not that easy.”
- “I know. But I’ll help, you don’t have to be alone.”
-After a moment, Tate nodded, collapsing into his desk chair.
-Finally, a win.
-Tate opened up to you more after that and now spent his days in his room, locked away beside you. He still had his moments, where you’d find him dripping blood in the bathroom, but you hadn’t seen any coke or alcohol in his room, just the usual pack of cigarettes or occasional joint.
-As the weeks wore on, you and Tate grew closer. You no longer found yourself idly drifting through the halls and the walls, begging your ghostly ‘co-workers’ to cooperate and leave the living alone. Instead, most of your time was spent curled up on Tate’s warm bed, eyes fluttering shut as he would run his fingers through your hair.
-”You know,” Tate suddenly spoke one day, shifting his body so he was lying beside you, and staring into your eyes. “You’re pretty hot for a ghost.”
-If you could blush, you were positive your entire face would be bright red.
-”T-T-Tate!” you stuttered, eyes wide as you attempted to cover your face. “You can’t just say those things!”
- “Oh? And why not?” He was grinning now, eyes full of playful wickedness. You found him straddling your body before you could reply, pinning your hands above your head. “It’s true, and you deserve to know it. You deserve to know how much…. How much I love you.”
-After Tate’s declaration, he bent his head down and captured your cold lips in a kiss, causing you to whimper at the warmth that tingled its way through your body. You’d been cold for so, so long, but now, you were starting to warm up, and you never wanted it to end.
-You and Tate became inseparable as the months passed. You still hadn’t shown yourself to his family members, but he often talked about you, playing you off as a girl from school.
-You protected Tate from as many things as you could; other spirits, his mother, his drug addiction, and self-harm tendencies.
-But, after a while, you could no longer protect him from the house.
-Tate began coming home from school looking all kinds of miserable, with a deep frown etched on his face. A frown you couldn’t always get rid of.
-He never told you what was causing these foul moods, but you stayed by his side regardless. You’d let him curl up in your lap and play with his blond hair, all the while worry filled your dead heart at what could’ve possibly been happening to your lover.
-Then one day, Tate stumbled into his -your- bedroom, blood dripping from his eyebrow and right below his bruising eye. Cuts and bruises littered the rest of his body as well, and his top lip had been split and was now swollen.
- “What happened?” you asked, materializing in front of him in seconds, placing your hands against his face, and gently cradling him.
- “Don’t worry about it. It’ll all be over tomorrow.” His reply, per usual, was short and cryptic. But instead of embracing your touch as he normally did, he brushed you off and stormed over to his desk.
-All you could do, for the remainder of the night, was watch in horror as he did rails of coke, cut his legs and his arms, and loaded up a handful of guns, shoving them into his backpack at the end of the night.
-The next day, Tate left the house without a word to you, his eyes glazed over as if he wasn’t even aware of himself or his surroundings. His busted face was covered in skull-makeup, and his usually fluffy hair was now slicked back.
-You paced the house anxiously, floating through walls and avoiding other spirits as you went, waiting for his safe return to you. You were gonna get answers tonight, whether he wanted to give them or not.
-When Tate returned home that afternoon, his face was splattered with blood, and his eyes were filled with a maniacal glint.
- “Tate, what did you do?” you whispered, standing behind him as he tossed his backpack to the bed. A gun fell out as he did, and Tate laughed.
- “I finished the Noble War.”
- Next thing you knew, the police had barged into his room and Tate laughed louder, the sound brinking on the edge of insanity.
- It all happened so fast- one second Tate had his finger pointed against the side of his head, and the next he was collapsing onto the bed, body filled with the gunshots that leaked blood into his sheets.
- Tate was dead.
- Years passed and you had refused to show yourself to anyone: ghosts, humans, and Tate included.
- You had failed in saving Tate, in more ways than one. The house had sunk its energy into his mind, and he had taken the lives of many, and then got himself killed because of it.
- Tate had tried in futile to apologize to you, to make you understand why he did such a thing, but you refused to listen. Refused to give him the chance.
- So, you vanished.
