The Reasons Why Severus Snape is Secretly a Cat, Actually.

I'm saying he's a neglected and abused stray little black cat and here is why

He's very meow meow. VERY kitten.

Black cats are vilified and assumed by some to be evil. Coincidentally, both of these things happen to Snape as well.

Difficult to befriend. Cats are already picky about who they like, and Cats who have had it rough are even more difficult. One cannot just waltz up to a cat like that expect friendliness, or even indifference for that matter.

Extremely bad, no good, very bad luck with dogs. Seriously, the man MUST have dog trauma by now. Werewolves? Sirius, one of his biggest haters and tormentors, a dog animagus? even Fluffy mauling his leg?? The first two were marauders, yes, but that's not a good thing when it comes to Snape. (not all dogs and cats dont get along, but its certainly interesting. Personally, I headcanon him as a definite cat person who has a bad associations with dogs but thats a whole other post.)

Very hissy and snarly and unpleasant when threatened - and sometimes, even when YOU think there's no apparent threat! This is premium Gato™ Behavior. An abused little shelter cat, horribly unsocialized, becoming hyper defensive anytime anything happens to him, even if the thing that is happening is kind.

it fits with the idea that hes "mean for no reason" because there IS a reason - cats are complicated little guys! Where you see a nonissue, He might see a threat. Where you see kindness, he might see mockery. Where you see playfulness he might see cruelty, and so on. After all, he's been on the receiving end of it all too often.

Cats like this usually end up stuck in shelters - not a home - because no one will take them. They're too offputting, they're too mean, they're too much trouble. One could argue that Hogwarts itself IS that shelter in this scenario; a place to be, but not a home. Not really.

Worth noting: maybe to Harry, Hogwarts can be considered a sort-of Home, but he actually found kindness and friends there. Severus lost his only friend and was tormented there. Better than his incredibly shitty situation with his family? Certainly! but Shelters often are.

SWM fits as well; A moment of extreme distress from being humiliated, afraid, and overwhelmed? all those jeering laughing faces while he is vulnerable and unsafe, defenseless at the hands of people who have continuously hurt him for years?? and to see and know that his friend - his BEST friend - the only friend; the only PERSON, he has, is there holding back a smile as it is happening too? Have you ever met a cat in distress? of course he lashed out. It's honestly astounding that he didnt lash out MORE.

and while on the subject of SWM, him lashing out at Lily applies here too. A cornered, distressed cat (especially one with a history of abuse) sees everything as a threat , even people it is normally friendly to, if it's distressed enough. Have you tried to bathe a cat? or maybe tried to coax one to get into a cat carrier for the vet? these things are very difficult but manageable at the best of times but "vulnerable, afraid, humiliated, and threatened" are NOT the best of times, I fear.

it even works with his occlumency and the way he deals with vulnerability as well. Cats, when in pain, do their best to hide that pain. This is because to be outwardly hurt is to be vulnerable, and that can lead to predation by bigger animals. Severus too, hides his vulnerability. The things that truly matter to him, his worries, his soft and squishy bits, and loyalties all carefully locked away.

Rivalry with Minerva?? that's just good ol' unserious cat drama. Have u ever seen an indoor cat staring down a stray through the window? silly little creatures. They'll grumble about it and act like its on sight (and maybe it is!) but when you're not looking, there'll be sniffing through the glass and pretending they dont care while they nap suspiciously close by.

Starved for affection and touch. An abused stray, past all the hissing and the fear and violence, once they're finally given a chance and finally understand that they are safe, just wants to be loved. They usually end up being the most affectionate and loyal cats of all! only to those they feel safe with, of course.

And speaking of loyalty, that applies here too. He was loyal to Lily, the first and only person to show him kindness (though my feelings for her are very complicated) and he was later loyal to Dumbledore. Unfortunately, neither of these people ever truly took in the stray, not really. And so the Stray was never actually socialized, and never completely safe, and never actually given a home.

and finally.. his death. Cats have a tendency to hide when nearing death, or dying.. and as such, often die in solitude. Severus may not have exactly had a direct hand in this of course, but.. there's something about him dying in this shitty little shack, far away from the action, presumably alone (or so he thought until Harry and his friends materialized out of nowhere under the cloak.). He wasn't actually alone in his actual final moments, but in the time leading up to it? Very lonely.

In a way, one could say that Lily came closest to adopting the stray Sev cat. And maybe she would have! maybe she wanted to take in the stray at one point - had planned to, even! But her friends told her he was dirty and gross, "who knows where that things been! he's probably diseased". and The marauders kept tormenting him, making him increasingly defensive and hissy and violent, as cats often are in that situation and then it was also "look how cruel and mean he is! he'll only hurt you". and maybe when the time finally came and that defensiveness finally WAS aimed at her it only confirmed what she had already begun to believe. And then she decided she wasnt a cat person after all. Who knows? One could make an argument for all of that. Do i see things that way? maybe, maybe not. My feelings toward every character who is not Snape are largely indifferent for the most part.

Verdict: Severus Snape is a Cat. He is a little kitten meow meow. Give this man a little cauldron to curl up in asap

So we got some artwork for a section of the black codex, the original full history of what actually happened in Thedas history.

I just thought i would go over it.

So we get some insight into how the war between the Elves and titans looked, and how an actually awake titan looked like.

We also learn that though the Elves modelled themselves on Humans, they actually got the inspiration for wanting bodies by looking at the Dwarves.

Also i honestly dont get why Solas was so obsessed with burning everything in Veilfire to restore the old elvhen empire, pre-veil Thedas looks pretty chill.

Certainly nothing like the hell Cory tried to unleash by keeping the worlds sorta half connected.

Also Early dwarves werent just drones, but seems to have lacked the true spark of individuality, just tending to the titans.

Most importantly, as we'll cover below, All The titans power was sealed in a little black box.

So... This shot. Here we learn a lot of things.

Firstly if you finished Origins, you will recognize the aura around the square containing the Titans power.

Though it looks calmer, it's the same energy as what explodes out from Urthemiel's corpse after you slay the archdemon at the end of origins, a massive wave of power that surges through the sky.

It recontextualizes the energy that was building up before the explosion. It was the power of the titants finally being unleashed back into the world.

Which in turn explains why the titan under Ferelden began to awaken again, finally getting jolted back up after the breach. The energy was finally free, from from the box, free from the blight.

Secondly we finally get an explanation of how the dwarves ended up underground, and why they shunned the surface so much, having literarily fleed it so long ago to live in the corpses of their creators.

Thirdly... Well it turns out that the people who speculated that the golden/black city was Arlathan wasn't entierly off... Cause it seems that whatever the hell the city actually was, the seat of the maker, a relic of some older civilization, or actually made by the Elves after all, the city's original location was in the aky ABOVE Arlathan.

Meaning the city of Arlathan was founded BELOW the place where the Evanuris kept the box.

That is... interesting.

What i also find interesting is that there is a clear disconnect between the buildings we see here, and the buildings of actual ancient elvhen architecture we see everywhere else.

Clearly there was a MASSIVE shift at some point.

From this, I can see two possibilities.

1. If the Golden city was indeed made by the ancient elves, then it remained as a monument of this early style, a more "primitive" and experimental style that the elves eventually abandoned, but remained in the great prison in the sky.

2. If the Golden city existed before them, and they choose to found Arlethan underneath it as they put the box here for safeguarding, then it is perfectly logical to assume that the Elves innitially modelled their first building style after this monument of power that predated even them, which they may, or may not have known the origins of.

If so, they eventually abandoned the Golden City's architectural style entierly.

Regardless, as Solas notes in Inquisition, the Elves did indeed build palaces in the sky as we see in Veilguard with this entierlg seperate floating city, so it is entierly possible they created the entire thing themselves.

The only question that remains is the chicken or the egg. Did the elves make the golden city and model their future floating cities on it, or did they find it preexisting, and model their later creations on it?

So here we get an actual explanation of how the blight actually began.

Blood magic.

It wasn't just the anger and souls of the titans becoming twisted that created the Blight.

It was the Evanuris, who wanted more power, who used blood magic to enhance the already incredibly mighty and volatile power of the Titans to even greater heights.

THIS was what created the blight as we know it.

What turned the Golden city from a center of power to a prison, but the power was not yet unleashed.

It adds a lot of context to the Evanuris not yet embracing the blight at first, and innitially being weary of it.

They first was terrified... Then eventually decided they needed this power to defeat Solas once and for all.

And the rest is history.

Then next, we get a look into why Solas disliked blood magic.

Turns out the whole binding the Evnaruis and creating the veil wasn't just a blood magic ritual that used their own power to trap them and make the veil... But it also used his own.

And as we see here, whatever the origins of the Golden City, it was THIS ritual, the creation of the Veil, that turned the city black as his little black cube presumably blew up, releasing all the power of the Titans into the now prison of his fellow gods.

The final art piece isnt as interesting, but it does give us some context into the first meeting between tevinter and the Elves.

History of course remembers the Tevniters as the bloodthirsty, slaver imperials that would subjugate the elves... But as we see here, that wasn't quite how it started.

Rather than attacking and enslavging the Elves of this nameless city, the ancient Vints look... Kinda sad.

This wasn't an army that had come to conquer and destroy, probably just an expedition that stumbled unto a massive and brutal slaughter in the Elves civil warring, and looking over a pointless slaugther.

There is a sense here that the Tevinter Imperium didn't necessarily have to go down the path they did... Of course that is not what happened, but it does add some much needed bit of depth to the ancient vints beyond moustache twirling villains.

They CHOOSE to later go down the path of slaver based empire. But it was just that. A choice.

Other than that, there is what we already know, cory and the rest found the city blighted.

All in all though, it's a rather facinating dew pages.

THIS IS AN ACTUAL SAFETY CONCERN! Whether you like Helluva Boss or not, if you actually care about trans lives- please don't skip this post!

As of this month, it's been announced that Helluva Boss S2 episode 5 is to be released this month. The reason why this is concerning, is the fact that the episode revolves around the premise of a grown man dressing in drag and sneaking into a high school to spy on freshman girls to murder them. Which sounds like an "average Helluva Boss" episode at first... until you consider the fact that there are laws against the drag and trans community now taking place:

The reason why this is a state of emergancy at this point: Is because the newest episode is going to present the very stereotype that caused this man to be in office- in the first place! By representing a drag queen as a "danger to children" or "predatory." Here, we see a drag queen being depicted as a "danger" to kids by pretending to be a teenager to spy on them, stereotyping drag queens as inherently "dangerous" to children, which is the exact type of stereotype that is contributing to the common paranoia towards the drag community. -and though it may not effect you, doesn't mean that it wont effect others or increase their paranoia. Not joking, imagine a transphobia catholic parent who has had the thought of voting for Desantis coming across this episode since it's out there, put on trending, and on Youtube- imagine how that would impact their vote, imagine the further public paranoia this could further cause if this episode was released to the public in the current state that it's in.

Honestly, look at this and try to tell me that it's a "positive drag representation!" Because even from the trailers alone, Moxxie is clearly being represented not just hyper sexualized, but as a actual danger to the children in the episode! This kind of representation is going to further cause dangerous misconceptions towards the drag community. So regardless of your stance on "fiction", you need to realize that representation like this is further putting lives at risk!

Drag queens are now at risk of genocide in Florida because the public see's them as "a danger to kids!" or an outright "sex predator!"

What Vivziepop needs to understand is that stereotypes arent "silly jokes!" They come from a place of discrimination, and ignorance. It's what they spread, and the more episodes portay minorities in this kind of stereotyped light, in public, where anyone can watch it, the more we are closer to acts like this being put into place. the fact that there are now laws threatening to kill drag queens as an act of genocide in Florida RIGHT NOW because Florida thinks that they're "child predators that try to get freindly with children to harm them/kill them/prey on them." So this episode isn't just poor timing- it's outright dangerous timing! I dont care if you see me as an "anti" or whatever you want to demonize me as- drag and trans lives are now even more at stake, and for the past two years, Florida has been highly paranoid towards the lgbt+ community, especially since it's Pride Month, and releasing an episode with stereotypes that have been used against drag queens at a time where the public is now highly paranoid of drag queens and those that are trans could literally contribute to the votes towards a man that is now attempting to cause a law that could mean the end of being openly lgbt+ in America- as a whole. This effects all of us! Everyone is harmed by lgbt+ and poc stereotypes- everyone! Please dont skip this!

Florida has now had repeated cases of violence towards the trans and drag community, and now they're targetting their rights as an attempt to force them into death row for being androygnous.

A literal minority genocide waiting to happen.

So really, the last thing you'd want to do, is to release an episode of a show depicting a drag queen as a "danger to kids!" at a time where the public is now trying to kill drag queens because they think of them as just that- a "danger" to children! Scene at 1:24

-and I get liking lgbt+ porn, but it's coming to a point where im starting to see so many dangerous stereotypes and fetishization on Twitter alone (this will be further mentioned in my next video) that this has now gone from "this show is offensive!" to "This show is showing stereotypes that have literally contributed to real life deaths of minorities!" The fact that Vivziepop is releasing this episode this year despite the news of this new law being widespread could potientially spread further panic amoung both consersative and lgbt+ social media alike, not just "Oh, the transphobes will be offended!" but "They're going to use shows like this as an excuse to demonize the trans community and drag queens at a time where America's law is literally trying to kill them!"

They're depicting a drag queen, in 2023, a year where Florida is trying to cause genocide to the trans and drag community since they see them as a "danger" to children! When they're not! -and presenting these stereotypes in public at a time where the world is already highly paranoid towards drag queens being around children, at all, and see drag or being trans as a "fetish that's dangerous to kids!" as a "danger" to children, is actually putting queer lives at risk! So though I get that you're excited for the latest episode, but this is actually the worst time to release media like this- the public has been highly paranoid towards the drag and trans community, and releasing an episode like this at this time with these kinds of stereotypes, I dont know if you understand this since so many of you are so young, but this could spread actual danger to these communities!

Your love of a cartoon is not more important than the lives of those around you! This goes for those many of you have harassed in the fandom as well. Stop disregarding human lives over a cartoon! These kinds of stereotypes have been contributing to the discrimination against the trans and drag community for decades, and right now, at a time where trans lives and drag queens are more at risk than ever before, there needs to be a caution towards how we treat lgbt+ representation. We need to do more research, we need to be cautious, for the sake of our safety we need to care, because the more you support these kinds of stereotypes, the more you're causing more votes to put this man into office! He's trying to become our president, this could actually put us in danger, stop representing lgbt+ this way! I understanding liking villains, but presenting us in a derogatory light will only hurt lgbt+ lives!

This isn't "old news." These are bills that are currently being put into Florida law that can severely injure or even kill real people in the lgbt+ community! It's becoming less and less safe to be out once again, so please dont release this episode so soon! Please dont release this episode at a time where drag queens are now being highly perceived as "a danger to children!" around the world! Please put genuine care into your representation, for the sake of the safety and protection of our community the least you can do is be more careful! Please be patient, im begging at this point, for the sake of the lgbt+ community and our safety please stop encouraging the use of these stereotypes and remember to boost this post as much as you can!

(although roy harper is in my heart of hearts)

the way Jason is written in rhato... the rhato written by Scott Lobdell anyway, (who is actually a sexual predator and when you start to think even a LITTLE about how the women are written in RHATO makes so much sense) portrays Jason as yet another cookie cutter anti-hero-deadpool-esque personality who's mainly confined by the narrative restraints of his character.

I say this because hes so.... the way he goes about his vigilantism is so .. shallow. It's like the narrative is finding excuses to make him violent so the reader can be stimulated with Michale Bay explosions lol. You hardly see any stories in there where Jason is an actual champion for the people, and you hardly see his background as a street kid come into play... its like... he became... a vigilante because....he knows how the system can fail those... alienated and forgotten by those sworn to protect them... and thus channels his energy into said people through acts of radical protection... (also because the whole bruce thing yeah I know)

I keep thinking about injustice!Jason's monologue where he literally says something along the lines of "while bruce and clark were fighting I fought for the people who were being caught up in the whole thing" like if that doesn't just tell you who he is idk what will! and sure, injustice isn't Jason source material, so look at under the red hood! he literally becomes a drug kingpin TO CONTROL crime ... and then instead of getting these immense shows of care he has for the community in RHATO, we get panels like this:

if you pour too much grit and "edginess" into Jason, then you kind of miss what he's all about- he can still be silly and sarcastic! in fact, one of my favorite Jason moments is from red hood: lost days, a series where he's portrayed as an edgy, "misfit" ruffian:

(So i want to say ive talked about this concoeg a bit before but honestly i don’t remember)

But idea is the pillar men are like natural predators to vampire and so vampires are just like instinctively afraid of pillar men.

So SDC happens and by the end of it Jotaro gets turned into a vampire and after the ordeal is first sorted through and things are a bit calmed down Jotaro goes to his grandfather Wham for comfort and only find himself afraid. He has never in is life been scared of wham. Logically he knows wham would never hurt him, he knows he loves him and would do anything to protect him.

And yet he want to run, to hide to get as far away from this man as possible. He tries to hide these feelings but it’s obvious that something is wrong. Jotaro is tense and skittish in a way he has never been before. Extremely guarded. He wont relax. He wont even touch wham and (whether subconsciously or not) is staying at least arms distance away at all times.

At first wham thinks its due to everything he has been through but Jotaro doesnt act like that around anyone else and as time passes its not getting better if anything its getting worse. Jotaro find reasons to see wham less in less.

Eventually the truth comes out and wham is devistated to have one of his loved ones so scared of him but things do get better. It takes time but Jotaro trusts him despite what his instincts tell him and eventually things become normal again he is able to relax and be calm around wham, but deep down that nagging fear still lingers.

(Also bonus for dhampir gio, when gio is introduced to the family he is wants nothing to do with wham, being only half vampire the feeling isnt as strong but still he ends up subconscious hiding behind bruno(he came for emotionally support) when they were in the same room)

I think joylne wouldnt get the same feeling because she grew up with wham so the instinctual fear never really developed. Kinda how animals raise in captivity dont fear humans.

oh Jotaro is going to feel AWFUL about this. Not only has his humanity been stolen but he's now also terrified of one of the few people he trusted with comfort. He wants Wammu to hug him and hold him and tell him everything will be okay but the mere thought of being in the same room as him, let along touching him, is enough to terrify him nearly as badly as the thought of hurting anyone

however...... at the same time this terror is going to serve as a weird comfort. That there's one person he'll be unable to hurt, one person who would be able to stop him incase he became uncontrollable. It absolutly shatters Wammu heart one day when he hears Jotaro ask him to kill him because just...... Wammu has seen Jotaro grow up. Has seen him as a small helpless infant, has seen him smile and laugh and cry and yell, has seen him be turned into a monster of his father's making, and despite that has seen him hold strong to his humanity and refuse to let go

While Wammu does agree to Jotaro's request, he swears to himself that he would do everything in his power to prevent it from happening

eventually Jotaro learns to suppress his instincts. Just like the hunger, he locks it away in a little box and shoves it into the deepest, darkest corner of his mind. And just like the hunger it never fully goes away, lingering as a constant remind of what he is, but it becomes easier to ignore. The first time he's able to touch Wammu, even though it was just for a fleeting moment, he almost cries. When he's able to hug him again, he does

And I had a fun idea for Part 5: what if Jotaro ends up being the one to stay with Bucciarati this time. After all, he has no idea Jolyne exists and wouldn't have many things stopping him from staying. He's already doing his schooling at home, cares for Bucciarati like a sibling, and he knows his Grandpa Wammu has a limited amount of time with his other grandparents left. Besides..... he wants more out of his life than staying in the dark of his mom's house. His mental health is doing better, and he's reached a point where as much as Dio's ruined his life, he still wants to live it. Italy would be able to give him a change of scenery

I also checked the timeline and for once I don't have to shuffle things around/flat out ignore them. Paolo was attacked the same year Jolyne was born, meaning there is MORE than a big enough window for Jotaro and Marina to conceive her and him later moving to Italy

Bucciarati doesn't know all the details. Just that 3 years ago Holly got really sick, and when she got better Jotaro got sick with something else that made him kinda like Uncle Wammu and he stopped calling for a few months. It's definitely an adjustment with Jotaro being the one to watch him, but they make things work and are happy

and also what if he just...... never fully explains to the Bucci Gang what he is. He just becomes Bucciarati's Weird Sorta Freaky Brother/Guardian Who We're Pretty Sure Is A Stand User But Also We Haven't Seen Him Eat. Or Sleep. At All.

on the plus side, come this AUs version of Part 5 Jotaro is ready to completely annihilate these assholes

also, while Wammu is definitely going to be heartbroken another child is afraid of him, Jotaro is going to be a good help with getting Giorno used to him. Things are made more more and less difficult by the fact that this is their first meeting. More because Giorno has no familiarity to build off of, but also less because there aren't going to be the wildly conflicting emotions making things more confusing which Jotaro had to deal with

and with Jolyne, technically she'd be in the same boat as Giorno. Since nobody knew she existed until Stone Ocean when she was 19 she wouldn't have known Wammu at all. At the very least, things are made easier by how being an almost fully matured adult, his instincts are easier to tune out, so she gets used to Wammu the fastest
