Out of all the kids only Sabo had ever shown any interest in the well being of a country's people just in general. Ace and Luffy are just all about freedom and adventure and only incidentally do anything about the wrongs that are right in front of their faces - a bad guy is terrorizing someone, so you punch the bad guy and then leave someone else to clean up.

Ace would have also been in Alabasta but he didn't think to interfere. Crocodile's a pirate after all, pirates do things like this (though maybe he just wanted to avoid a meeting with Crocodile because Crocodile didn't take the whole "I joined Whitebeard's crew! He's my pops now!" thing all that well.)

I am losing me mind thinking about vanpire speedwagon and dhampir Giorno

I thinking if they met prebruno it wouldnt be too bad. Giorno would of been repressing his vampiric traits and substaining himself most off normal food and any small animal he could get his hands on. He wouldnt have the same self loathing as Jotaro but would have the mindset that he is a monster and that his monstrous traits are something to be ashamed of. Speedwagon could meet him be a positive role model, help him get access to food without shame, and other stuff like that

Post bruno On the other hand. Giorno is fully eating people no shame no hesitation. Bruno has actively encouraged Giorno that his vampiric trait are good and make him better than most people. Any guilt or shame giorno felt before meeting him has been effectively knocked out by bruno. Speedwagon would be going through it trying to teach gio his ethical vampire ways while giorno over here like, “ my capo told me i can eat who ever i want as long as i clean up after myself”

With Pre-Bruno, Speedwagon’s got the whole Teaching Him He’s Not Monstrous down to a science. As you mentioned Giorno’s got WAY less self hatred than Jotaro, so Speedwagon can jump to the “hey here are some food alternatives so you don’t have to hurt people :D” phase almost immediately. He can introduce him to the Joestars and their friends, giving him even more people he doesn’t have to hide around because they all know. It gives him a sense of belonging and kinship

As for Post-Bruno, Speedwagon can’t really make him stop because 1) this isn’t his kid nor does he have legal custody and 2) Giorno is only eating people who attack or try to kill him first so it’s TECHNICALLY self defense

He still doesn’t like it though

I’d imagine that he and Giorno have a little rivalry back and forth thing going on. Whenever Speedwagon visits these two are so indescribably petty when it comes to this. Speedwagon will slip SWF information packets all around the apartment and into Giorno’s bags and pockets when he isn’t looking, and Giorno will just. Straight up eat human parts while making direct eye contact and even offer some to Speedwagon.

And the whole time they’re both terrifyingly polite but it’s enough that the little Prey Predator part of the brain of all the surrounding humans is going NUTS

(they don’t do it when Jotaro’s around though. It’s an unspoken rule that their fighting is on pause when he’s present because they know he has issues he’s still working through and he doesn’t deserve to get caught in the crossfire)

So not an au but a hc that Gio is terrible at math

Like my boy dropped out at like 15 and i doubt he had amazing attendance before that. Is he as bad as Narancia no (but i also hc the reason nara is so bad at math is that he has undiagnosed Dyscalculia (number dyslexia))

Gio was just getting by with like 6th grade level math skills but for awhile no one finds out because gio is pretty smart in general and knows alot of history, science, and literature so every just assumes this goes for math too. That is until Narancia ask gio for help on a math problem

Nara was doing so independent study (aka fugo needed a minute to calm down) and was doing set of equations fugo had set up when he got to one he was struggling with. Not want to bother fugo before he had fully calmed down he asks Gio for help instead.

At first he just asks if he knows the answer and gio hesitates before apologizing saying he didnt know the answer off the top of his head. Which caught the attention of everyone else in the room (bruno, fugo). But didnt raise any red flags cause while it wasnt a particularly hard problem not everyone had a calculator in thier head like fugo. But then nara just hands him the paper and poor gio doesnt know how to get out of this one and just stares at the equation.

Now everyone is watching him when gio goes. “ sorry nara i cant seem to figure this one out math was never my strong suit”

Fugo: but you do know math right gio

Giorno: of course

Fugo: do you know the quadratic formula

Gio: i know plenty of formulas

Fugo: what is the quadratic formula

Gio:

Fugo: whats the square root of 16

Gio:

Gio: carefully

So anyway narancia gets a study buddy and at first fugo had hoped gio could help keep narancia on track but it turns out theyre even more frustrating together and every lession end with at least 3 stab wounds

(Bruno is also bad at math but he gets a pass as the adult of the group, fugo is handling all the gangs finances)

The 6 Most Important Storylines Of The 2023 NBA Playoffs

The 2023 NBA playoffs begin on April 11th with the first of the NBA play-in tournament games and the 1st round officially beginning on April 15th. 

While the NBA post season will offer up no shortage of storylines, narratives, triumphs and defeats, I have managed to narrow down this year’s playoff teams that will surely contribute more to the post season headlines than the rest.

1. Uncooked Nuggets

This team has had the NBA world waiting for them to fulfill their potential for a long time.

They’ve had injuries, they’ve gone through trades, they’ve guided Nikola Jokic to a potential 3rd NBA MVP trophy, and yet still something is amiss with a team that will rightly go into the playoffs as the most underrated 1-seed in years.

There’s a few reasons for that but one more than all the others.

The first is that, the Nuggets are not great on the road. The second is that the league has finally caught up to Nikola Jokic and teams that have big men that are talented enough will attack him on defense (as shown by both Joel Embiid and Deandre Ayton), and when the Nuggets are in possession, they opt to dare Aaron Gordon and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to make 3′s, while trying to anticipate Jokic’s pass attempts to cutters and shooters. 

The more troublesome part is thier head coach, and I have to tell you, his act is getting tired, because Mike Malone has one of the most talented rosters in the league and the Nuggets seem to hit the same kind of mental block every year, and his fall back is to go to the media and call his players “soft”.

It’s old, it’s tired, it’s redundant, and it’s not helping the Nuggets uber-talented group of players in the least, but this year Malone is all out of excuses.

Everyone is healthy, Jokic is still an MVP candidate, the bench rotation now features Reggie Jackson, Jeff Green and Bruce Brown, which is better bench support than they’ve had in some time. 

While I believe that Michael Porter Jr and Jamal Murray are the biggest x-factors in how far Denver will go, as far as the players are concerned, it’s down to Mike Malone not to mess it up from the sideline and in post game press confrences, where his old school approach to coaching can be a little bit too over-the-top.

That also means avoiding the unnecessary pointguard-less lineups.

2. Believeland 2?

When Donovan Mitchell’s trade from the Utah Jazz was announced, the Cleveland Cavaliers took a big jump up in almost every preseason projection, and while they’ve very much validated that hype, it’s in the post season that a lot of thier players will be looking to cememnt new reputions for themselves.

The Cavs are probably the deepest team in the league and I don’t think it’s close.

Aside from the scoring powers of Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell, they boast the best defensive front court pairing in the league with Evan Mobley and Jared Allen. Add to that Caris Levert may be the most underrated sixth-man in the league.

I still have questions about what happens when defenses dare Lamar Stevens and Isaac Okoro to make 3′s, they’re both in that 32-36% range for 3-point percentage, but the Cavs are still a scary prospect, especially if they can make it to the 2nd round.

3. Kevin Durant: The Prodigal Sun

I can’t think of an NBA player that has had worse luck over the last 2 years than Kevin Durant.

For all intents and purposes, the Suns front office have always made it clear that there was interest in bringing Durant to Phoenix.

The Suns need the pairing of Devin Booker and Kevin Durant on the court at the same time, and without that their chances of making another NBA Final are not good.

The obvious variable is that Durant may be limited, but even in the event that he’s not 100%, I think Durant can play 20 minutes a game as more of a spot-up shooter, to space the floor. That’s pure conjecture on my part, given what happened in 2019, but Durant has had a few more weeks to heal up, and then it becomes about those other guys, in particular Deandre Ayton, stepping up thier game.

I mention Ayton because he’s been outed by head coach, Monty Williams as being a guy that always needs a pep-talk during every game, and while motivated yet limited players can help win playoff games, players with a low motor can only lose games. 

The Suns have gotten very favorable treatment from most of the NBA fan bases as being a potential title contender, but to be fair, there are more variables than answers, and even a healthy Kevin Durant is walking in to an unfamiliar team setting, so I rate there should be some holding back on the hype with this Suns team.

4. Darkhorse Warriors

Did you know that the Warriors have not won 10 road games this year, as of March 28th?

Still, if you ignore the Western conference standings, and are a believer in the concept of “championship pedigree”, then you still likely have the Warriors as the Western Conference’s team to beat once the playoffs actualy begin.

They really miss Andrew Wiggins and thier ability to get stops takes a step back when they don’t have him.

The Warriors still have the Draymond-monster hanging around and over them, but should this team manage to avoid the play-in tournament, they will play a team with better conference seeding, home advantage and little or no, playoff history.

That alone makes them dangerous, the experience edge and the fact that they will go in to every series as favorites, pretty much, no matter who they play.

I am going to sit back and hope that Draymond and Jordan Poole’s chemistry, or lack thereof, becomes an issue, as opposed to what I think will happen, which is Steph Curry raining 3′s to keep them in games they shouldn’t be in.

The Warriors have not been the same this year, but I don’t think,anyone can write them off, especially since Klay Thompson looks like he’s back to himself. 

They are a historically great home team, where they’ve won more than 80% of their regular season games, but on the road, they may be one of the worst travelling teams in NBA history, and they will not have home court to start any series.

Still, if you believe Gilbert Arenas, then travelling to Sacremento won’t feel like a road game at all for the Warriors.

5. Time For Celtics Stars To Grow Up

It’s time for Boston’s two top players to grow up. Individually they have, but that’s been the problem with Boston’s top stars.

They don’t play together if one of them is in a rhythm or has the hot-hand, and the clip I’ve posted above is from last season, but a lot of the same habits still plague the two Celtics star players.

If one of them gets into a scoring rhythm, they will go into ISO mode.

Consider this, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum hardly ever run a 2-man-game, or run a play between the two of them designed to get one of them a good look. There is way too much willingness to go to the ISO and believe they can win the game by themselves. Against lesser opposition and when you have favorable 1-on-1 matchups, that can work, but not in this year’s playoffs.

There needs to be a notable change in how these guys approach 2nd halves, and how they go about getting the best out of each other, as well as learning that the measure of thier talent is not 1-on-1 scoring.

With the Celtics, it’s not about coaching, it’s not about depth, it’s not about 3-point shooting, it’s about how good can their star players can be, and whether they can outgrow being ISO guys, and embrace more Brown-Tatum pick’n’rolls and that’s a mental shift more than anything else.

Jaylen Brown has made headlines recently and it’s starting to look like he is unhappy in Boston, both on and off the court, and it really couldn’t be a worse time to throw him in to a playoff situation, because the idea that he doesn’t like beind 2nd banana is starting to gain traction throughout the NBA.

Get it together, Boston.

6. Milwaukee

The Bucks have been the unoffical must-see team in all of basketball this year and that 16 game winning streak exeplifies a team that has set the standard in the NBA this year.

Now the mainstream media have somehow managed to collude with the aim of shielding the national public from how good the Bucks have been this year, but I advise you not to sleep.

After starting the season with injuries and having to await the the return of Khris Middleton, the Bucks have found thier groove and then some. They doubled down by signing Joe Ingles, and then tripled down by signing Jae Crowder.

Most metrics and top NBA defense rankings will have the Bucks in the top 5, but I would say that that is underselling thier defense, because while we know about Giannis and Jrue’s defensive prowess, Brook Lopez has somehow involved himself in the defensive player of the year conversation by blocking shots.

Add to that they have a myriad of defensive stoppers and 3-and-D players, so while there are teams with more depth, and teams with more talented all-star level players, as far as scoring is concerned, and even teams whose head coaches are more respected, but trust when I say, no one other than Boston, wants to see the Bucks this year.

I don't think people are truly utilizing the fact that Cynthia does actually get to meet Arceus. Like Volo spends his entire life worshipping and doing everything in his power to reach the god he’s devoted himself to, failing over and over to the point of tearing the universe apart just to bring it down from the heavens but it still doesn’t work, and then like 200 years later his great granddaughter gets to meet them BY ACCIDENT and her reactions boils down to “lmao cool” and she never speaks of it again. comedy gold

while she doesn't have a full transformation, it's enough that she needs to be careful about getting wet. She gets most of the perks (gills, ridiculous depth limit, fast in the water) but her tail is a good deal smaller than her father's. She's a slower swimmer than him, but better at making tight turns and is overall more agile

Marina would absolutely know about this. While Joot would definitely try keeping it secret at first, it's only a matter of time before he's found out, which then could possibly lead to everything with Stands being shared and more or less forcing Jotaro into being more open and transparent

And just. Jotaro taking Jolyne to little secret coves on the beach when she's little and teaching her how to swim, showing her what the underwater world has to offer, how to stay out of sight. The two bonding over this shared secret of theirs and doing whatever they can to keep the other safe
