You know that post about how Western soup spoons betray a culture that is deeply unserious about soup? I already think about it at least once a week, but I have thought about almost nothing else since encountering this giant renge (蓮華, literaly 'lotus petal') serving spoon. I had never realized how much I dislike the physical act of dishing up soup, even with a ladle. It is the only thing about soup that is not wonderful. But now everything about soup can be wonderful!

This has been a long trip for sure, 2 weeks at a single place that's not home is rough but being able to see her made it 1000% worth it. She took the 3 hour drive to come stay the night with me in my hotel room and it was amazing to say the least.

I can still feel all the marks she left on me. I can still remember the feeling and sensations that took place the night and following morning but above all I remember just being able to lay with her, feeling her body's warmth mingling with mine.

What an amazing way to wake up. With her next to me, being able to just soak in the sight of her, hearing her breathing and the occasional light snore. Time stood still and at the same time went way to fast. I wish I could have had more of it, that closeness. But I am so overjoyed with what I had that I can't be mad or bitter. To be able to wake up and shift my body so close to hers, to be able to gently throw my arm over her and let it rest there.

I needed that, I needed it in a way that I will never be able to convey with words. For that one night and morning everything was right in my little world, I didn't care about any past transgressions or mistakes. The future full of possibilities was the furthest thing from my mind. All I cared about and all I understood was I had her infront of me, for just a little while my world was perfect and my mind was quiet.

Hello from Hong Kong! (Context: http://artistsonthelam.blogspot.com/2024/03/dusting-off-suitcase.html) Just arrived, hungry and sleepy (although that’s wearing off), and, accompanied by my HK uncles, we wandered out into the streets of bustling Mongkok and found a cha chaan teng that closes at 1am. Was eating out with my boyfriend today. Chinese buffet. The fortune cookies came out. Mine said “a minute of time is worth more than an oz of gold” and I think “they haven’t seen my paycheck.

His just straight up didn’t have a fortune. He said “guess no figure.”

I say “but I’m right here, babe.” And I swear to god, the look on this boy’s face when I said that said it all. “I have been gobsmacked by an impossibly smooth pickup line.”

Felt very proud of myself for that :)

Hi world 🌎! Joyful spirit here. TGIF! Haven’t felt like posting anything but I thought that I would say hi. It’s a rainy day here. Good day for a nap which I’m waking up from. March can’t quite decide if it wants to come in like a lion or a lamb huh?

Well I’m down a couple of pounds so that makes me happy. It’s our date night but I think that I’ll beg off until tomorrow night. Not feeling like going out or cooking. Take out feels appropriate. Maybe bbq. What kind of take out do you like on a rainy day? Chinese, barbecue, Mexican or something else? I’m thinking about it still. Take care for now.
