anyway one day I'm gonna write a little thing about duke and tim talking about how they were both taken in by bruce "orphan hoarder" wayne while their parents were still alive. both, for different reasons, alone enough to need and long for a family but not quite sure they're allowed to, because their parents are still there, technically. of course, tim's parents were neglectful at best while duke has the memory of parents who did love and care for him properly, until shit hit the fan. and on that account their experience is different, but I think there's quite a lot of common ground they could find there, if it was explored.
#duke thomas#tim drake#robin#red robin#the signal#I just see a lot of parallels with them and idk if its just me??#like you know how tim when he first came in the picture#was supposed to be this normal teen who the reader could relate to#while still being incredibly smart and competent and stuff!#and he brought such a fresh perspective to the comics!#I see a LOT of that in duke#when writing ensamble batfam fics I love using tim or duke as the POV character#because I just really really love the way the see the things and the people around them?#plus! they're pretty close in age if dc insists on keeping tim 16 forever!#let them be friends!#let them bond over their trauma and play video games together and make silly references#that old man broose doesnt get#let them team up!!#let them hang out in and out of costume and learn how to be BROTHERS#dc I will pay a mbillion dollars blease#actually I got like $10 but#b le a se

my thoughts on every Hellfire Gala outfit (in order of appearance in the Guidebook)
emma frost - all 3 of her outfits capture her seductive persona perfectly, as well as showing the world how influential she can be, if she so chooses; overall one of my favorites wardrobes at the event (and probably in comic books in general)
rogue - *just chef’s kiss* again, one of my faves; the 80′s vibes with the collar and the sunglasses are immaculate
angel - an almost perfect blend of simple and chic, but could’ve done something to add to it (a halo or a design on the pants?); how dope would an archangel dichotomy look on him in the future
rachel summers - im in the minority when i say i adore this outfit; it just is an amazing homage to her old spunky outfit with more flair, but i do agree that the make-up is a bit much
captain britain - not one of my favorites, but still very adequate; the red really doesn’t mix with the flag dress for me, but the butterflies were a nice touch
storm - just a simple 15/10; if she wore this outfit as her normal costume, i wouldn’t even mind - in fact, i would cherish that fact
kitty pryde - not a fan; kitty’s color has never been red for me, but i can see why people would like it and the meaning it has regarding her “red queen” status in the hellfire club
penance/m - very eye-catching and aesthetically pleasing; big fan of the make-up as well, overall would give it a solid 8.5/10
jean grey - do i need to even explain how amazing and how much this outfit suits her; one of the best outfits at the gala, no doubt
cyclops - not a strict favorite, but still a very good design with an interesting visor concept
mastermind - very steampunky and fitting for an ex-hellfire club member; i dig the shade of brown and the cuffs’ color interaction with the cane
selene - too safe; so much more could’ve been done, even if the look itself isn’t horrible
madrox - very confusing to the eye; again - the eye makeup is on point, but an outfit more closely related to his multiple man costume would’ve been the superior choice
sunspot - cool concept, dissapointing execution; if his look would’ve been “less clothes, more mercury-esque type of outfit”, where his outfit was built upon his mutant physiology, it would’ve had a much more pleasing outcome
wolverine/x-23 - not bad, but maybe too safe and basic; the top half of the dress looks decent but more shapes and designs that play on her figure would’ve made for a much more interesting ensamble (cuts where the blue “wolverine” stripes were?)
synch - breathtaking; absolutely no gripes with this design
cannonball - love the cape/poncho element, but i would’ve liked some more color or a motif to make the overall suit more interesting to look at; the goggles were a nice touch
sunspot - magnificent; the mask tying in with the coat masterfully, solidifies this as a 10/10
colossus - another winner; piotr looks absolutely menacing and powerful with the long flowing cape and even the ushanka, capturing his roots with a simple but elegant black and red color scheme
polaris - model-worthy dress and a captivating silhouette, but a lackluster addition of jewlery, make-up and hairstyle are a 6/10 for me
aurora - glamorous dress, but again very uninspired regarding the little details and the hair
northstar - very “leather-bound prince” vibes, which isn’t a bad thing but nothing really to stand out; still a good 7.5 though
eye-boy - i absolutely revere this design, as i see virtually no flaws with it; trevor really rocks this “deity” look
daken - boring, dull and utterly bland; the lack of shoes cements this suit as possibly one of the worst designs at the whole gala imo
kyle - now we’re talking; blue is really kyle’s color and the silver accents just tie this whole design up, but the bottom being so uninteresting makes this outfit slightly less appealing (some silver around the ankles or on the thighs could’ve really made that bottom part stand out)
prodigy - makeup and dress are absolutely impeccable, but the wings and shoes are kind of confusing me as they really don’t match neither prodigy neither his powers
bishop - the only good thing i can say is that his shoes aren’t terrible; very unpleasant and again out-of-touch with bishop’s personality and character
sebastian shaw - kinda all-over the place, but the fur coat gives him some shoulder volume; what is with the red shoes and the blue suit?
pyro - very simple, yet classy; some rings or a belt could’ve really elevated those plain areas
banshee - sharp and neat, exactly as it should be; nothing showstopping but beautiful in it’s simplicity
iceman - what is with all the wings on characters with dresses?; nothing cohesive about this design, just screams - “notice me, i’m here”
psylocke - the blossoms are beautiful, but nothing else really stands out; her plunging neckline adds to her personality as a seductress, but the bottom of the dress is really unfitting for the style it was going for
mr. sinister - charming and very “high-class; all the edges really make sinister’s silhouette stand out, a good 8/10
exodus - a little bit all over the place, with the gigantic shoes and multiple shades of purple but the cape with the gold shoulder plates is dashing
havok - one of my personal favorites; simply fantastic and very in-touch with havok’s whole character and his past gear
mystique - exquisite dress, with the feathers really adding to that “evil queen” type of look the designer was going for; the jewlery adds some shine to her dark color scheme - an amazing idea with an amazing execution
dazzler - for being a pop diva, this design is anything but dazzling; a flowing dress as an homage to her 80′s jumpsuit with the rollers would’ve been much better than a “light show to hide the blandness”
mercury - okay now we can work with this; you could chalk this up to me being a fan of the “outfit being part of the character’s body” trope, but this design speaks to me with the only thing i’d have changed being a more sophisticated hairstyle
loa - THE LIONFISH DRESS; that’s all i wanted to say, 11/10
nightcrawler - okayyy, big “hellfire club x pirates” vibes with this one; peculiarly suits kurt, i even like the musketeer hat with the oversized feather
pixie - the uncanny (pun intended) “dark fairy” aesthetic suits megan; even if it isn’t one of my most favorite designs, i can appreciate it for what it is and yes here the butterflies and the wings tie into the character and her powers
mirage/moonstar - not many good things that i can point out, even if the design isn’t bad per se, it’s just not something i see mirage wearing - to a gala, ball, party or whatever
warlock - i mean you really can’t do much with warlock, but yeah, a bowtie and a middle part don’t do it for me
karma - bewitching, that’s the word; i would’ve added some more jewelry somewhere, but that’s the my only gripe as the hot pink IS karma’s colour
magik - my absolute favorite design out of the new mutants; the flamboyance, the vibrance, the vivaciousness, the horns - the only thing slightly throwing me off are the hooves, but i’m willing to overlook that for the sake of the argument that she IS the queen of limbo, after all
warpath - imo a very chaotic and jumbled design; contrary to everyone’s opinion, my favorite part are the spikes which to me are it’s only saving grace
magneto - pops has style, i’ll give him that; the gold makes him seem like royalty but it is a bit overkill
frenzy - jo looks f-i-n-e and that’s all i’m gonna say, perfect on all fronts
wiz kid - not my thing, even if i can see why anyone would find it enjoyable; the shade of red is a bit too vibrant for my liking and the weird cross things are too disorganised, but again - isn’t an atrocious design
khora - i’m gonna be honest, i had no clue who khora was before seeing her design; since then i’ve looked her up and despite me not really caring for her character, i find her design spectacular as she is giving me “space girl” vibes (also i like the use of the joan of arc hair here)
manifold - one of my ABSOLUTE favorites; everything about this suit is just flawless - from the color scheme to the patterns all-around
jubilee - while i don’t hate it, jubilee is much flashier than this dress allows for; the lotus design also isn’t horrible but so much could’ve been done to do her character justice
gambit - another design i’m indifferent towards, but again - gambit is such a flamboyant character, his charm can’t carry a bland black suit with a speck of purple on it’s own; missed potential™
monarch - the all-white was an interesting choice, and while i know the reason behind his outfit i would’ve enjoyed a white suit with gold details, akin to magneto and professor x’s a little more
gloriana/meggan - literally the definition of “blue fairy”; completely indifferent towards it, but something more interesting could’ve been explored
rictor - i’m in the minority here when i say that i absolutely love this outfit; from the cape down to the makeup i find this outfit great, as it shows rictor is back to more vibrant colors :)
wolverine - understand the choice between it, but one word is enough for me to describe it - bland;
sage - i actually enjoy sage’s outfit as simple as a black dress is; definitely far from a favorite but suits her character and shows enough of her legs, which adds to that model look
domino - again, i know why she’s wearing it, as she and the rest of these guys are like the “bodyguards” of the gala but c’mon - some details could’ve been added to make these suits a bit more interesting and more personalized
beast - i’ve already stated what i think of these suits, but here the choice of shorts for hank puzzles me
kid omega - look at how they massacred my boy; hot pink isn’t present anywhere, in any form, in his clothes, so an automatic 1/10
professor x - what?
+bonus
speed - how adorable does tommy look in his little “fairy prince” get-up; the make-up (akin to david’s) really adds to him and his boyfriend’s palettes that clash in the most perfect way
abigail brand - PIRATE QUEEN PIRATE QUEEN PIRATE QUEEN
shatterstar - i mean i would comment on his outfit, but he isn’t wearing anything but shorts but yay, our boy is back; i can overlook this uninspired look, seeing as this is gaveedra’s official return to comics
pete wisdom - sometimes less is more, and while i don’t hate it, pete normally wears a suit as his costume so the design really didn’t stray too far
stepford cuckoos - nuns? really? not horrible but c’mon, they are emma’s girls - their style should be octaves higher
tempo - absolutely on brand; don’t know much about tempo, but some eccentric make-up would’ve really put the cherry on top, but as a “welcomer to the party” of sorts i see why they didn’t go too crazy
rhapsody - as simple as the dress is, it really suits her well and clashes with her skin perfectly; something wilder could’ve been done to the hair, but then again - she should be able to see the strings to play after all
christian frost - nothing here is enunciating “white bishop” at all for me; not absolutely horrible, but more could’ve been done to let us know of his status in the club (an homage in the form of a 1800s suit wiith some modern touches perhaps?)
shinobi shaw - finally something worth talking about; shinobi looks dapper, as i love the design on his suit - clean, sleek and simple, but oh so fitting
wilhelmina kensington - it’s just... eh?, she’s just wearing a dress and her hair is in a simple bun; nothing to write home about, but seeing as she’s supposed to be a fashionable character at her core, this was kind of dissapointing
fenris - now, as weird as it seems i don’t despise this design... yes, something more interesing could’ve been done to make them stand apart, but somehow the “gladiator” looks work for the pair; i adore the head accesories as well
roulette - look i understand the color choices, but really? they couldn’t have played up her powers or shown them on her design in any way? i don’t believe that; a pink dress with black/white dots somewhere, or just straight up her discuses as her dress would’ve made this look so much more memorable
catseye - alright we get it, the hellions yada yada... but give our girls something more eye catching to wear or at the least include some detalis alluding to their powers, they just blend in the crowd for me
skin - i mean, was that really the best he could do? skin’s outfit could’ve been played with a lot more, don’t just make him a hipster and think “job well done, let’s pack for the day”; the only thing i liked is that it included his generation x colors, and even that is a stretch (pun intended)
cypher - classic tuxedo... doug looks nice, but compared to the wild designs there he blends with the crowd like a needle in a haystack; should’ve played around with some warlock motifs somewhere imo
neal shaara - as much as that pink suits neal, nothing here says “thunderbird” for me; now i know he stopped using that moniker a while ago, but at least a little nod towards that would’ve been enough, a 2/10 ‘cause i like the color
stacy x - really stace? as a former dominatrix i was expecting more than a “medieval peasant”, completely not her style; in the context of the story it kinda makes sense, but still - outfit changes aren’t off the table at any event
callisto - even though the white dress suits her, we’ve seen her wear exclusively white since her start as the white knight, i think a small design on her eyepatch or some kind of motif (a flower? fleur-de-lis? something royal?) on the dress itself would’ve elevated the good, while masking the dullness in her attire
the five (hope, proteus, tempus, egg & elixir) - i’m grouping the five in one (put intended) as all their outfits were such a minor cry from their usual uniforms that it’s almost criminal; was expecting a lot more for hope and elixir espeically, but again proteus is on point with a slightly altered physiological outfit and i’m a sucker for those
boom-boom - from what i’ve seen fanarts do, the boring pink dress was extremely underwhelming; the sunglasses are a staple and the dress is cute, but this is THE boom-boom we’re talking about, her fashionista side has always been a major side of her character, c’mon now... missed potential™
wolfsbane - literally gave us nothing. nothing i tell you... wolfsbane has SO MUCH potential to go all werewolf, to incorporate some crosses & other religious imagery.. but no, her costume. how dissapointing...
gimmick - we all have our thoughts on children of the atom, and even if mine are on the “bad” side, i have to gulp it down and admit that carmen looks absolutely breathtaking here; the amazon look really is something else, beautiful contrast with her skin, just wow - better-dressed than some of the x-men 🤭
armor - hisako absolutely “ate and left no crumbs”, i can’t see a single flaw here - from her dress, to her hair and especially those armored accents, with my only minor gripe is that something a little more eccentric could’ve been cooked up as far as make-up goes, but even with that an elegant 10/10 is in order
marrow - simple but elegant; set out to be self-contained and achieved that with grace and perfection, a really great, if not a bit too modest look
legion - orange pants. that’s it. -10/10
graymalkin (& anole) - again grouping the two as they basically did the skin gig and just put on a random tank top in a random colour and called it a day... guys, do better...
galura - i don’t know anything about the character, but what i do know is that she dresses well and she knows it; appearing as karma’s dance partner, her almost “angelic” attire compliments karma’s hot pink coat beautifully

so this might matter to literally no one but it amuses me to no end: in drag race spain s1 for the hometown look, hugaceo crujiente's look was inspired by valencian falles festival which is a big deal and there was a controversy about people that didn't think hugaceo's look was clear enough in that it was a falla (which is bs they even had pyrotechnics in the damn costume); well, a casal faller has made a ninot inspired by them for this year's festival and i love that to death bc now nobody can say they are not a falla lmao
about the falles: every neighborhood in the city of valencia has a group of casal fallers that constructs very intricate wood sculptures (the falles) that represent each neighborhood and are exposed for a couple of months; they are very intricate and take months to make, they've basically given birth to its own local industry and it's a very beloved festivity that takes days and has many events; it officially starts on march 15 and ends on march 19th on saint joseph's day (patron saint of carpenters; also fun fact: saint joseph's is also father's day in spain)
the falles are both the name of the very big intricate statues and of the festival; it's composed of ninots (puppets) that are also exposed and paraded before they are all ensambled into the bigger falla that represents the casal fallers; hugaceo's look for dres was turned into a ninot that will be assambled into a falla for the party proper
the party culmintes with the cremà, where at midnight on march 19th all of the fallas are burnt down (hence the name; falla means torch in valencian) and hence why some local audience not getting hugaceo's look seemed ludicrous to me because mfker literally set their look on fire when walking the runway
falla(singular)/falles(plural) in valencian = falla/fallas in spanish

Hamilton female ensemble costumes by track part 4/12: Woman 4
I thought I had programed this one for friday but guess it stayed in my drafts.
The Woman 4 track (originally played by Sasha Hutchings) is also known as the dead mother track, as she plays Hamilton's mother during the opening and in flasbacks during Hurricane and The World Was Wide Enough. She is also one of the two women talking to Philip during Blow Us All Away playing a character called Dolly (in honor of Maddison's wife Dolley, but it is unclear is the character is meant to be her).
It is identified as the corset with two wide bands going all around and the zig-zag trim over the front. What I love about this one is that while most of the ensamble corsets decorations are inspired by bodice and stomacher decorations, this one is clearly based on spyral lacing, the most common lacing style for stays (corsets) during this period. This track wears a shawl during My Shot (it can bee seen in the proshot).
All photos come from either the performer’s instagrams, the official instagram accounts or are screenshots from the hamilton proshot.

Came up with a dreamsmp school Au by accident 😳
Okay so niki would totally be a choir kid
Wilbur is orchristra, but would be a senior and join choir duirng his free period.
Tommy would be a band kid, but only marching band and would be either color gaurd or front ensemble (dont ask me why)
Tubbo would play tennis. Idk man i just think hed play tennis. Also he might do cheer, i also dont know lol
Ranboo would do volleyball but also would watch tommy practice marching band.
Eret would be president of GSA, and would try softball but wouldnt get far.
Puffy would also be apart of GSA, and would try to go to every event that her friends are apart of. Deffinetly a soccer mom.
Dream would be a baisic bitch football player. Wouldnt really play the games and instead would just joke around with a spicific cheerleader
George is the cheerlader. Hed so fuck around with the pom poms.
Techno wouldnt do shit, but would love the emglish class sense everyones quit.
Sapnap would do basketball and baseball
Karl would just hang out with sap and quackity after school
Quackity would pretend he didnt know Spanish so he could take it and get an easy A. He would also be apart of band, he would fuck around with Tommy during marching band.
Prupled would only show up to like one of his classes, or sleep in all of them. No in between.
Tommy so would show up to random games and just cheer his friends on, even if its tubbo and george just messing with the pom poms and not doing what their supposed to. Tubbo would throw the pom poms at him if he was too loud, or if he was bored.
Niki and wilbur would have alot of fun in choir (theyd sing minecraft parody songs to fuck with people), occasionally someone else would sneek in and have fun with all of them lol I feel like tommy would show up, sing, and then everyone would try and force him into choir lol
I feel like Karl could walk into any class and the teacher would know him. Hed Deffinetly love spirit week to no end
George, dream, and Sapnap would walk around the halls and would probably put pictures of a random celebraty all around the school for fun
For musical, wilbur would always get a lead role purly cause he actually knows what hes doing. Tommy and tubbo would either get ensamble or would be a techie. I feel like niki ans puffy would also go to musical, but Niki would be tech and puffy would help the moms with costuming. Eret so would make the costumes, she just has talent like that. Quackity and sapnap Deffinetly would audition as a joke, and then would get big roles and would actually have to commit to it.
Another thing is that the that during lunches or asemballys, the teachers would force Tommy tubbo and ran boo to sit away from eatchother, cause last time they either cried or Tommy/tubbo tried to fight ranboo
Thats all ive thought of lmao. I find this to be so funny lol

She-Ra Week Day 5 by @fauxghosts
Prompt: PRINCESS PROM / healing
Summary: When Glimmer and Bow bet Adora she can't ask Catra to prom before the end of the spring musical, she gets frustrated with her feelings. So what do you do when you've got a bunch of pent up frustration? You duke it out in the Denny's parking lot with your crush in a lightsaber duel.
Read it on AO3
“You’re not gonna do it.”
“I am not gonna do it,” Adora said dramatically as they stepped off the stage after finishing Act Two.
Their school, after constant begging, had finally decided to do a production of Les Miserables. After doing things like Seussical (they don’t talk about that) and High School Musical (nothing wrong with it, just mundane), the theatre department wanted something more serious. Something that would challenge them.
So they forced their director, Double Trouble, to fight with the school about doing Les Mis. Despite some of the… suggestive stuff from the show, the school probably didn’t want to fight some theatre kids, and let them have their show.
The audition process is always the scariest. Being a soprano, she only had one role really available to her: Cosette. Glimmer and Bow peer pressured her into auditioning for a lead instead of going straight to ensamble, and she still wasn’t going to do it, but then Catra asked her to do it, and she couldn’t say no.
Adora ended up cast as Cosette, and she had practically cried of happiness when the cast list came out. Glimmer had gotten Fantine, being a very low mezzo. But then Catra’s name was listed for Eponine, and she just about proposed right there.
They were far from love interests. In fact, they were love rivals. Sea Hawk was the one playing Marius, and the two girls spent the entire show in love with him, which wasn’t the funnest. Neither of them even liked boys, so for Catra’s character to die because she was delivering a letter to Marius… It was a trip.
Even if they weren’t true love interests, and only shared one song with each other that wasn’t the Act One finale, Catra and Adora still spent the most time in rehearsal together. Ironic, because the one song was called A Heart Full Of Love, and it’s Adora’s hardest song, in her opinion.
She gushed about Catra to Bow and Glimmer everyday in the car home from rehearsal. “Guys, I think my heart is full of love. Would it be weird to ask Double Trouble to switch Marius and Eponine? I’d rather spend the whole show simping about Catra then Sea Hawk-”
“Adora!” Glimmer cut off. “You’ve been halfway in love with Catra since Seussical, and I think that’s saying something. You should tell her. What’s the worst that can happen?”
“She rejects me, never talks to me again, drops out of the show, and I can’t spend the rest of senior year with her or college, since we’re both going to University of San Diego together to major in theatre, and she’ll never want to be in another role with me!”
“You’re freaking out again,” Bow childed, not turning away from the street as he drove. “You know Catra isn’t like that. And I don’t think she’ll reject you in the first place.” “I am so tired of hearing Adora talk about Catra when Catra probably likes her back,” Glimmer growled. “I’m going to do something about it.”
She reached into her pocket, and Adora almost hopped over the console. She thought they were going to call Catra and tell her something, and it was enough to make her take off her seatbelt, despite Bow’s car safety. “Glimmer, wait-”
Instead, she pulled out her wallet. “I will give you fifty dollars if you ask Catra to Princess Prom as a romantic date. I’ll double the offer if you do it before closing night.”
“An extra twenty if she says yes!” Bow chimed in.
Glimmer and Bow don’t struggle with money, so a hundred wasn’t a lot for them, but Adora’s eyes grew wide as she thought about it. Of course, it involved asking Catra out, but she’d figure that out later. “You have a deal.”
“Now please put your seatbelt back on!” Bow screeched, his voice cracking.
Which brought them to now, as they got into position for curtain call. She’d be bowing with Sea Hawk after Catra had hers with Kyle (who played Enjorlas, and it’s still shrouded in mystery how he got the role). Glimmer was one of the first to bow, but she still caught the wink as she walked away.
“That thing is huge,” Catra mumbled when she got in line backstage, waiting for their cue.
Adora looked down at her costume. The huge wedding dress wasn’t her favorite costume from the show, but it couldn’t be more appropriate for the moment (or inappropriate, take the pick). Catra couldn’t look more beautiful in her sleeveless white shirt and brown skirt that hit the floor. Despite the fact that the belt on her waist was big on her and she had dirt slathered all over her, she’s never looked better. Plus the red cap… That stupid thing was going to be the death of her.
“It’s always been like this,” Adora replied, falling into her place next to Sea Hawk, who busied himself with Kyle. Her heart thumped with the question. She doubted Catra had feelings for her, but she could always ask as a friend. Not like Glimmer and Bow needed to know anyways…
Bow had been a life saver in tech. He always knew when to turn off people’s mics, including that one time he turned off Catra’s when she started shit talking principal Hordak backstage when he came to watch rehearsal. Luckily, he turned them off now as Adora made her attempts to approach the subject.
“Princess Prom.” That’s not a question, it’s a statement! “Uh, I mean…”
“Catra, you and Kyle are next,” Scorpia, their stage manager, said.
Catra nodded, then turned back to her. “So, this is it, huh.. Our last curtain call as seniors, being cast as the leads for the first time, our last show in general until San Diego.”
“Don’t remind me.” She already cried in her car as she drove herself and Catra to school, emotional about ending her last show already. Closing nights are always a mess, but it just hits differently as seniors, and when you’re playing love rivals with the girl you’re pretty in love with.
“I’ll see you on the flip side,” she whispered before she ran out on stage, the bright lights shining down on her.
Even though Adora could only see Catra’s back, they were both sad about this being their last show. They had identical tears pricking their eyes, and when she rushed off stage with Kyle, she braced herself for the emotions to come.
She took Sea Hawk’s hand, and they ran to center stage when Scorpia gave them their cue. She couldn’t stop the tears from coming, even as she bunched her dress in her hands to give the curtsey bow. Sea Hawk did the Jeremy Jordan bow, where he clasps his hands in front of him and takes his bow.
Their last show…
The cast got into a line going horizontal, pointing to their lovely orchestra for their part of the bow. They started to make their way backstage again, and Adora took Catra’s hand. For emotional support, you know? She wasn’t going to see the blinding lights or the tech week shenanigans or the mic taped to her forehead in high school again! Obviously she’s going to be very dramatic about it.
As the cast made their way to the green room, everyone was in the same mood: sad. Catra had opted for letting go of her hand to wrap an arm around her shoulders as they silently sniffled. She was going to miss this…
“Closing night isn’t over, people!” Sea Hawk shouted, pumping a fist into the air. “Let’s go say goodbye to Double Trouble, and head over to Denny's!”
Ah, yes. The theatre kid ritual. Every show, they have to go to Denny'safter closing. It’s the law, and she looked forward to it every time. It always created the best memories, like when the obnoxious senior from last year, Octavia, got arrested for stealing a shopping cart.
Denny's always made her night.
“He’s not wrong,” Catra said to her. “Am I driving with you?”
“Duh.” Wasn’t that a given? Or was it too forward to assume. Or maybe-
“That’s what I thought.”
But when they stepped into the green room, all thoughts of Catra disappeared (for one second exactly) as Double Trouble walked in, whopping loudly. They gave their speech about this being one of the funnest shows to do, but Adora was too busy wiping her wet cheeks to really listen.
“Go out there, kids, and rule the goddamn theatre world!” Double Trouble finished, dismissing them for the night.
“To Denny's!” Glimmer exclaimed, giving everyone the pick-me-up they needed.
“To Denny's,” Catra repeated to her, quieter. To Denny'sit was. They walked to the parking lot, heading to her car, but Glimmer caught her wrist as she was opening her door.
“You only have a couple hours left. Use them wisely.” Satisfied with her words of wisdom, Glimmer got into the passenger side of Bow’s car parked next to them.
“I’m really going to kill them,” Adora whispered to herself as she put the key into the ignition. Her little yellow beetle may not be anything for any other high school kid, but it was perfect for her.
“Why?” Catra asked, having apparently heard her. Rats.
“Because.” And it was left at that before Adora opened her mouth again. “Princess Prom. That’s a thing that’s going on. It’s going on very soon. Like, in a month soon.”
“Yes, what about it?” Catra seemed so dismissive of it. She looked out the window, listening to Somebody’s Watching Me on the radio. Was she even going to go? What if she asked and Catra had no plans of going, and Adora’s unknowingly forcing her into it?
“Nothing.”
“Oh…” Catra traced the window with her nail. Now why was she all deflated? This girl is way too confusing for her brain. “I want to go, but I don’t want to be alone.”
Adora is going to kill someone. Seriously, all it would take is driving the car into Denny's. “Really? You’re going?”
“Not as of right now, but I kind of want to. Like I wouldn’t wear a dress or heels. But… I would want to wear a suit and maybe get my nails a color that isn’t black. But I don’t know who I’d go with.”
She momentarily turned away from the road to look at Catra. Bow would be screaming at her right now, but she couldn’t find it in her to care. She was basically given an invitation to ask, but what if Catra didn’t want her to ask? What if she’s just talking about it? What if she wants Adora to set her up with someone else?
Catra opened her mouth to say something, but she got distracted by something gleaming in the backseat. “There’s no way I didn’t notice these earlier!”
She reached into the back, leaning across the console. Her white sweater rode up on her waist, and Adora exploded into a blush at the sight of some skin. Seriously, what is wrong with her? And because she doesn’t get cold, she wore a cropped red cami and regular black jeans. Her outfit did nothing to hide the blush.
Catra came back up, holding the hilt of two lightsabers. They were both big Star Wars nerds, and she spent thirty dollars (each) on these sabers. But the money from the bet would pay it back, if she actually did it. Catra dove into the backseat again, bringing the two sticks of plastic that she fastened back onto the hilt.
She pressed a button, and the blue light from Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber lit up the car. Catra stared at the saber, and Adora couldn’t help but notice how her skin managed to light up perfectly in the blue light. “Try the red.”
Catra turned off the blue saber, and grabbed a hold of Darth Vader’s lightsaber. The red added a dangerous feeling to the atmosphere. Blue was fun and playful. Red was full of passion, and the silence that followed afterward proved her point.
Finally, Catra cleared her throat, moving the saber around a bit. “Oh, I like this one.”
“But I like that one,” Adora protested as she pulled into a parking space at Denny’s. She could see everyone had already arrived. Not like she was driving slower than usual just to get a couple more seconds of conversation. No doubt they would see the red light and question what they were doing.
She pointed the end of the saber at Adora. “Well then, I guess it’s going to have to be a duel to the fate.”
Adora rolled her eyes at the reference, but grabbed the blue saber from the console, igniting it with the push of a button. “Okay, Eponine ‘I Died Delivering A Letter To My Love Interest That Was Actually About Another Girl’ Thénardier.”
“That’s the show’s fault, not mine.”
“Unimportant.”
Catra opened the car door, bouncing to Adora's side within seconds. She hastily took off her seatbelt, practically sprinting out of the driver's seat, spinning the hilt in her hand. “I’m pretty sure you’ve never fought with one of these.”
Adora scoffed. “I own them.”
“Yeah, just like I’m gonna own you!” Catra charged forward, raising her saber above her head before bringing it down on Adora. She barely had time to respond, lifting her own saber to block it as she sunk down to her knee.
“Hey, I just ordered our table! It’ll be ready in a couple minutes,” Scorpia said as she came out the door in time to see Adora stand and knock Catra away from her. “What are you guys doing?”
Catra held Adora in a parry as she turned around to yell, “Fighting, duh!”
“Yeah, we see that!” Bow shouted as Adora brought her sword back to her chest, making Catra stumble as they slowly moved away from her car. “Why are you guys mad?”
“Not real fighting!” Adora answered, moving in closer to Catra as their sabers met in the middle time and time again. “I’m defending my honor and rights!” “Yeah, her rights to dance with me instead of fighting in a parking lot!” Catra responded.
Adora faltered at that. Before she could begin overthinking what that meant in the middle of a lightsaber duel in the Denny's parking lot with the entire cast of Les Mis watching, Catra caught her saber and twisted her arm, causing Adora to completely let go of her saber.
“It’s over, Adora. I have the high ground,” Catra boasted.
“Not yet!” She dropped down low, catching the saber by the hilt before it hit the ground. She brought her blade back up, the two of them getting caught in another round of aimlessly swinging and blocking.
“You guys are ridiculous!” Glimmer shouted, her head in her hands.
“You don’t appreciate the true art of Star Wars like we do!” Adora yelled back.
Truthfully, this isn’t how she expected her last post closing night dinner at Denny’s to go.
When she was talking about it to Catra on their way to school, they imagined a tearful night. Majority of the cast and crew were seniors, and everyone loved them. Glimmer had basically adopted a little sophomore, Frosta, who played Gavroche (no one even noticed the genderbend!). They all thought they were going to be sad, and cry in the back of Scorpia’s pick up truck as they sang One Day More as a cast, one last time.
Instead, Adora was sword fighting Catra in the parking lot as all of their friends watched.
A great conclusion to her senior year musical, honestly.
Adora stood in front of Catra for a moment as they caught their breath. In an instant, they started twirling their sabers in their hands. The light from the blue and red was a whirlwind, and Catra laughed as they recreated that one scene from their favorite Star Wars movie: Revenge of the Sith.
Catra’s laugh was intoxicating. It made Adora let out her own giggle. They went back to fighting after a second, but Catra’s face illuminated by the red light in the nighttime made her stomach go up in butterflies.
“You were supposed to join me, not leave me in darkness!” Catra recited, smiling the whole time.
Adora swiped the saber at her feet, and Catra hopped over it. “Well, I love you!”
She froze, and Catra even faltered. But because she froze, Catra pushed her onto her back, pointing the red saber at her. “I know!”
For a moment, she forgot it was a reference to another one of the movies. But Adora let her saber fall out of her hand, looking up at Catra. The red light was stunning. Everyone else around them had fallen silent to watch the exchange. She then realized no one else knew what the reference was from.
“Guys, it’s from one of the movies!” Adora called out from her place on the ground. “Empire Strikes Back, it’s pretty good. You guys should watch it!”
Catra panted, looking down at her. “What?”
She was equally as confused. “What? What happened?”
“Oh, forget it.” Catra turned off the saber, holding her hand out instead. “Want to rule a galaxy together instead?”
“How about we start by taking over Broadway,” Adora grinned, helping herself up with Catra’s assistance. She turned off the blue saber, but they continued to stare at each other. Catra continued to hold her hand, but neither made any attempt to move away.
“Did we just hash everything out in a Denny’s parking lot?” Catra asked.
“I think we did..”
“Adora!” Glimmer shouted, interrupting their staring contest. “So like, I have a hundred with me. Bow has a twenty, but…”
The bet. A hundred and twenty dollars if she successfully asked her crush out to Princess Prom and didn’t get rejected. But they just beat each other up with plastic toys from the Disney store. Maybe it just wasn’t meant to be. Or maybe they were, but then one of them would fall to the dark side and tragically die. Who knows?
“Oh, that thing where Glimmer and Bow were going to give you money if you asked me to Princess Prom?” Catra raised an eyebrow, laughing at Adora’s horrified face. “Bow told Scorpia, and she accidentally let it slip.”
Adora groaned. She wanted to go fall in a hole and die in a ditch. Maybe she should’ve been shot on stage instead of Catra. “Yeah, about that-”
“I’ve been waiting for you to ask me,” Catra said, tightening her hold on her hand. “I didn’t think I wanted to go, but then I heard that and I realized… maybe I did. The dances and stuff always felt really corporate to me, and it wasn’t my thing. But I went home everyday wondering why you hadn’t asked me yet, and then I realized-”
“Oh my god I am so sorry,” Adora interrupted. She was horrified. Catra knew the entire time. She’s been tripping over herself for the two months of rehearsal and three weeks of the actual production, but never stopped to think what if she already knew. She’s absolutely mortified. “You got dragged into this mess of a joke between me and Glimmer then Bow came in and I just thought, I don’t know. I don’t think or I think too much. Oh my god, I can not believe this is happening!”
Catra chuckled when she spoke without a pause. “Breathe. I’m not mad. Or upset or anything like that. I like you too, Adora.”
Her cheeks flamed. “You did?”
She nodded. “You’re not exactly subtle, per say…”
Adora didn’t feel like crying out of embarrassment anymore. She put her free hand in her pocket, ghosting her fingers over Catra’s knuckles with the other. “You actually like me?”
Another nod, accompanied with a gorgeous laugh. “Yes. Yes, I like you and all your high notes. You think I liked seeing you kiss Sea Hawk every rehearsal and show?” They both laughed. Neither of them like it, apparently, because Adora didn’t. “You and your private story where you rewatch Clone Wars with me and we both cry, and I get to see the video and laugh at how oblivious you were to notice that I liked you. You and your bootleg pirating, despite the fact that Newsies is your favorite and it’s literally proshot. So yeah, Adora. I do like you. You and your overthinking.”
Adora was over the moon, and she wanted to stay here in the parking lot all night and talk. But first, she had something to conclude. “So, Princess Prom. That’s a thing we should go to together.”
“We should.”
They did.

stevetony: our wedding, our rule
in his entire life - all 106 years included - this is the most pivotal moment. easily beats the time he crashed the valkyrie. or the time he woke up in 21st century, 70 years drawing blank - nothing. including the time he refitted into the captain america costume, wielding the shield, out on his first mission after being frozen, mistaken to be dead. although, that comes close to second.
not because of captain america or shield. no. it's because of whom he met then. the first time, he laid his eyes on his soon to be husband; tony stark.
standing in front of the mirror, steve palms down the pressed vest, feeling the spikes and dips of carefully stitched buttons. the material itself feels sleek. unimaginably expensive, he's sure. but he's not dumb to cross path with the combined force of miss potts and natasha when it comes to his wedding attire.
he smiles as bucky pins the corsage over the breast of his vest. the jacket's an afterthought. only, and only because it's sweltering hot here in tony's private island that even natasha has to exchange her embroiddered magnificience for something more breathable. therefore, naturally the rest of them are excused as well.
"you're not nervous, are you?" sam tips his head curiously, regarding him from the balcony where he'd perched himself on for the last ten minutes. champagne in one hand and phone in another, he looks as dapper as bucky does in his best man's suit, shades on, hiding half of his face in style.
bucky snorts, straightening up as he pats down steve's chest, the grin on his face wider than last month when steve met him. "punk's more excited than nervous" he answers for him, reading steve as easily as he did when they were sixteen and steve tried signalling him to call for help behind an enormous scowl and ego because he might have broken something somewhere. softly, he says, "'m happy for you, stevie"
steve grins back, shoving trembling fingers hurriedly into his pants' pockets. there's half an hour more before they step out. the needles in his brain are ticking, counting each second down.
bucky's grin disappears and he opens his mouth to say something but gets abruptly cut off by the door slamming open to reveal a carefully collected natasha. she's carrying an empty flute in one hand which she promptly refills and steve physically feels the tensed undercurrent sizzling beneath her faux exterior. "is everything okay?" he asks, command voice slipping in clumsily.
natasha regards him above her flute, chugging the alcohol down smoothly before she answers him, voice clipped. "stop being nervous, you're making me nervous."
that's not what steve asked for but she looks less eager to entertain anymore questions, siddling up to sam quietly, although steve doesn't completely miss the quick glance she throws at bucky on her way out. something clicks into places in steve's mind, in the parts where the clock isn't ticking by, and he blinks, curiosity pinging, but he pushes them for another day. today, it's all about tony and him only.
natasha grumpily holds onto his jacket, seated in the front row, next to miss potts who's carrying a matching one, steve notes with bubbling excitement, belongs to tony
he's up front. bucky and sam by his side and he's taking extra cautions from scuffing his luxurious shoes on the ground. natasha's poker face is reminder enough. but that only means that the knots over his shoulders keep tightening painfully with each passing moment in tony's absence; his nervous energy building up with no means of release until -
- until they do. all, exponentially. with a whoosh of breath. just as he spots tony, arm in arm with colonel rhodes, beginning their walk down the aisle
steve's breath embarassingly catches in his throat and bucky has to nudge him, hissing, "breathe, idiot," for him to inhale. sharp and stinging as he realises belatedly that his eyes are stinging and his smile feels wet.
sam slips a hankie behind his back which steve accepts gratefully but doesn't manage to use it because he's suddenly distracted by dum-e, u and buttercup acting flower-girls, three steps in front, whom he had completely missed because he was too focused on the groom.
his groom.
soon to be husband. in exactly six minutes and 35 seconds. "jesus"
in the front row, natasha raises a neatly trimmed eyebrow; you alright? steve nods in her direction distractedly, unwilling to peel his eyes off of the approaching tony
tony, who looks otherwordly. beautiful. clad in similar ensamble to steve's except where steve's in white undershirt and american flag blue vest and pants, tony is in white undershirt but inky black vest and pants. both of their buttons and cufflinks matches. gold and intricately carved out initials: TS on steve's and SR on tony's. the corsage over steve's breast is a mesh of red florals which steve could never learn their names of whilst the one over tony's are white and cream. tony also carries a bouquet with a long trailing pair of wide width pale yellow ribbon, glimmering gorgeously under the morning sun of the caribbean.
"i love you." steve blurts out, when colonel rhodes places tony's hand into his awaiting one. he faintly registers the surprised snort which comes from his immediate right; bucky, but nothing in that moment can steal his focus from tony. not even the soft squeeze that colonel rhodes lays on his left biceps. except -
well, except U. because U just so happens to loose his balance and wheels right over steve's left foot in its enthusiasm to hold out the wedding bands.
"dear lord, they're embarassing" tony hisses under his breath, but the glare he directs at U is softened by amused affection and steve struggles from leaning in and kissing tony right then and there.
the officiant; thor - because despite what tony says, steve does have a healthy sense of humour - clears his throat loudly, like a booming thunder in the broad open space, louder than the ocean kissing the shore in their background, and tony mouths a quick "love you too" to steve before he turns to face him, eyes just as misty as his other half. steve follows his suite with a second to spare
their vow is simple and traditional. they've thought about making it more persobal but life got over them and time zoomed pass instead of crawling so long story short, they didn't manage to compose one in time. miss potts and nat are particularly disgruntled by that but hey, it's as tony had pointed out; "our wedding, our rule"
and it's perfect. where it lacked personal touch, they compensated with their ingrained wedding bands. steve's read: shellhead's and tony's read: winghead's. they really couldn't be more specific and lame. but it's them.
when thor offically announces them married, steve hefts tony off of the ground, wrapped in his arms tightly and kisses him. deep and branding. all those words he couldn't say then; mine, husband, love you so much, forever, love you, i'm yours - he rolls them down his tongue and feeds them into tony's mouth. searing hot.
he can hear several groans, the ones from tony's far left: harley and peter, are the loudest, but steve holds on. grinning as tony does too, into their kiss. honeyed, passionate ones pushed later for lingering, happy ones; simply pressing his outstretched smile into tony's. achingly soft.
it's someone wolf-whistling that makes them part away. and steve spots the culprit; clint, just as quickly. seated with his family in the second row. steve beams at him, arms still wrapped around tony's waist, who's beginning to squirm away from steve, now that he's noting.
"where are you going?" steve squints down at his husband, mirth clouding his blue eyes, making it impossible for him to feel anything other than happiness on this pivotal day.
tony manages a smirk which quickly wavers into a wide grin (looks like steve's not the only one unable to stop smiling right now and isn't he beyond glad to share that blessing with tony). "you can't be holding me all day, steve" tony - his husband, retorts, aiming for sass but teasing along the curb of challenge, making steve ache to seize the oppurtunity to prove him wrong.
"i think i can" he smirks, nosing beneath sharp angled jaw
"yeah?" tony asks breathily and steve pulls him closer in, coiling his arms tighter to prove his point
"watch me"
true to his words, he never lets tony leave his arm throughout the ceremony. not even when tony had to toss the bouquet, which lands in miss pott's surprised hand. or during dining. or greeting and thanking the guests for attending.
"you're impossible" tony tells him amusedly on the dance floor, winding his own arms up and around steve's neck, cheek pressing into his chest; listening to his heartbeat, steve knows without a single doubt.
steve kisses his temple and murmurs into his ear, palm pressed over the small of his husband's back, "our wedding, our rule"
#stevetony#stony#superhusbands#winghead#shellhead#steve x tony#616 or mcu or emh or aa or avac#idk take a pic#i like lilah so i gave clint a fam but otherwise..

In one kiss, you’ll know all I haven’t said - Chapter 1 “Late night talks and late night calls”
Summary: It's New Year's Eve, and ace student Sansa Stark has had a great year. She is at the top of her class in the Daeron School of Political Science; she grew closer to her big brother (and now protector) Robb; she made awesome new friends and was adjusting perfectly to the change moving from cold, icy Winterfell to the bright King's Landing. With her family in town, this holiday season was supposed to be perfect for Sansa, but life is not a song. Life, Sansa would learn, has funny ways to show us what we need; and sometimes, what we need is way better that what we ever dreamed of.
"Come on, Margaery. We're going to be late!" Sansa reminded her friend for the twelfth time in the last thirty minutes.
"Well, yeah, Sans. That's the point" her friend replied, her voice an echo finding its way to the small living-room.
"We don't want to be punctual, we want to fashionably late" added Loras, Margaery's younger brother, sitting in one of the dining chairs, scrolling down his phone. The Tyrell siblings were socially savvy as they were beautiful. And they are really beautiful. "But you are forgiven because -"
"You're from the North" screamed Margaery from her room, trying to finish her brother's sentence. Sansa could picture the bright smile in her face as she said that.
"You guys know that Winterfell is not made of ice, right? And that we don't live secluded from people?" she retorted as she rolled her eyes. The siblings would always taunt her with how different she was from southenerns. "You could totally pass for someone from the Riverlands or even the Reach, but the moment you open your mouth, well, that gives it away that you're a northener" Margaery had told her once, in the early stages of their friendship.
When she first arrived at Aegon University, she had a hard time making friends. She's naturally reserved and missed her friends back home, especially Jeyne. But she found a great friend in Margaery. She first met Margaery in her Political Theory class and has since "been under her wing" as her friend puts it. Both Loras and his sister taught her "the Southern way" to do things. Sansa realized it was not just the climate or the scenery that differentiate the North from the South. It was the people, their way of thinking, their way of doing things. And even if the lesson they taught her was really about how to deal with boys, which trends to follow and how to get invited to the coolest parties, Sansa saw a deeper meaning in it. She always did. That was the reason she was a Political Science undergrad. She knew that something as simple as a word or an action is way more than just that. An action, simple as it may be, could wield great power. Words could easily work as a veil or be what they were intended to be, and Margaery understood this. She comes from a very powerful industrial family, she knows all about words, actions and power. The Queen of Thornes is her grandmother, after all.
"OK, I just had the greatest idea for next Halloween" Margaery exclaimed, coming out of her room in her green bathrobe, barefeet and with her make-up half done. "I'm a genius. We get you a blonde wig and bam, you're Elsa. And I'll be your Anna. I tell you, I'm a gen-"
"I'm going to stop right there" Sansa interrumped her friend before she got too excited by the idea. "It's a hard pass on that one. I'll never hear the end of bad Frozen puns" she quickly added when she saw her make what Loras dubbed "the little rose" face. She'd always make that face when she wanted something, ever since she was a little girl. Since then, that face had seen fair its share of successs.
"Besides, Frozen costumes are so 2014" Loras added, winking at Sansa. Margaery's idea of a Frozen revival wouldn't see the light.
"You guys are no fun" she grumbled, slowly walking back to her room.
"And you're making us late"
*****************************************
After waiting thirty minutes in their aparment for Margaery to get ready, plus the forty five-minute ride (with various agurments in favor of an Elsa-Anna ensamble for next Halloween from Margaery) from the apartment to the house of the Harry guy that was throwing the party, it was official: they were late.
The house wasn't a house, but a post modern-style mansion. There was a fountain just in the middle of the driveway, surrounded by beautiful flowers brought from all the corners of Westeros. There were even some essosi wild flowers. The whole scenery screamed money. The three of them looked at the house, then at each other, then back at the house.
Margaery was the first to snap out of the beauty of the facade. "OK, Jeyne Westerling told me this guy, Harry Hardyng, is like the heir of Arryn Mountain Woods or something like that" she started to explain.
"But since he is new to the game" Loras continued, looking around him.
"And has lots money and space to spare" Margaery said with a grin.
"He now wants to surround himself with the best of Aegon University" Loras finished, looking completely pleased with himself.
"But have you even met him?" Sansa inquired.
"I've seen pictures of him" Margaery replied. "Those baby blue eyes..." she sighed.
"But how do we know he's not... you know..." she continued, gesticulating with her hands.
"A werido? A creep?" Loras finished the sentence for her. "Sans, I admit you got a point" said with more seriousness than what their current conversation required.
"Oh Gods, what if he is one of those who's into feet?" Margaery muttered, "I don't know if I can handle that" horror written on her face.
"Well, if he's one of those, worry not, dear sister" Loras consoled her with a melodramatic, jesting tone. "You have ugly feet" that had earned Loras a slap on the arm. Sansa couldn't help but laugh. She always loved it when the siblings jested. It reminded her of her own family, of home.
"Well, I didn't mean a foot fetish" she laughed, "but how about we go inside and see for ourselves?"
When the trio headed arrived at the double-winged door they were received by a grey-haired man in a dark suit, with a not so amicable face.
"Names, please" inquired the man
"Margaery and Loras Tyrell and Sansa Stark" as always, Margaery was the voice of the group.
The grey-haired man looked at the list in his hand, and, after letting out a little sigh, opened the door for them.
If the facade had dazzled them, the interior of the mansion was a whole other thing. White marble floors, stone-colored walls covered with various abstract and cubist paintings, a great, crystal chanderlier that hanged in the center of the room, couches and chairs in cool shades of blue and a great crystal wall that made way to a pool. The room screamed opulence from wherever you saw it. Sansa didn't like it.
There was jazz music playing in the background, and a whole group of people dressed in an elegant yet simple way, conversing and drinking wine that the Tyrell siblings and Sansa didn't know.
It was in that moment that Sansa regretted listening to Margaery and wear the purple mini dress.
Shortly after, the host approached them and introduced himself.
"Hello and welcome to my humbling home" Harry started. "You must be Margaery and Loras. I've heard a great deal of the beautiful roses of Highgarden" he said with some sweetness in his tone. "And you must be Sansa, the beautiful winter rose of Winterfell". Sansa didn't like how he make them all sound like things valuable only on beauty and influence.
"You have a charming home, Harry" Margaery was quick to respond.
"Your garden up front is beautiful. I've never seen those flowers bloom outside the Reach" Loras added.
It seemed it was her turn to say something nice, even though she wasn't feeling the whole "I shit money" vibe of the place and the host. She was about to say something about the room, but she asked about a painting in the shades of blue and purple hanging near where they were standing instead.
"Georgia O'Keeffe, the Black Iris III. Beautiful, isn't it?" he said as he moved to her side. "You can feel the raw sensuality in the way she uses the colors" Harry said, almost in a whisper.
She had a dire need to roll her eyes at the move Harry was trying to pull. Ugh, just my luck, she thought.
"I like the colors, but I'm more into Impressionism and Romanticism. Monet, Bazille, Janmot, Friedrich..."
"I see" Harry laughed "Fine Arts undergrad, I gather?"
"Political Science, actually. Me and Margaery actually-" she turned around to say something to her, only to find out that she was gone. She could see Loras with what she thought it was a TA at the Naerys School of Fine Arts.
Oh, well. It seems I'll have to do this on my own, she thought.
When she turned, she saw him, really saw him: blond hair, baby blue eyes, perfect smile. The young, handsome, sweet, attentive heir. The guy every girl on campus would and most certainly will fall for. But behind those pretty eyes and perfect smile there was a cunning young man, probably used to get what he wants. And he was sweet, too sweet.
"Politics?" he sounded surprised. "I never thought a pretty girl that knows a lot about art like you would torment her pretty head with... arguing" he said with a charming smile.
Smug wasn't enough, he's also sexist. "Oh, it's not arguing" she commented, starting to move around the room, with Harry quickly following her. "At least it isn't when it's done right" she smiled. "It's all about people. It's about everything that surrounds them" she continued as she took a look around the room "It's about being able to detect their wants, their needs, and the best way to make it all happen" she said as she moved closer to him. Harry was like a hawk, never taking his eyes off of her. "But..." she trailed off.
"But?"
"But it can also be about dangers and how to handle them, how to detect them and neutralize them, in way where nobody gets hurt. Sometimes you succeed, sometimes you don't" she continued, locking her eyes with his. He nodded and smiled. He seemed to catch what she was saying. She gave him another sweet smile. "I don't want to keep you from your hosting duty" she concluded.
He professed his wish to continue their conversation later in the evening, and left her with a very decorous, and very unnecesary kiss on the hand.
It was official: Sansa hated the guy.
She walked around the room some more, trying to find her friends, only to remain alone in a room full of strangers. But just when she was heading towards the gardens, she saw Margaery with two glasses of what were probably a couple of mojitos. "Marge, where have you been? You left me alone with that... that..." Sansa whispered, trying to calm herself. After all, it was not her friend she was angry at.
"With that hottie?" Margaery laughed.
"With that asshole!" Sansa replied as quietly as she could. "Give me that" she took the other glass and took a long sip.
"Hey, easy. We don't want another..." her friend looked around her before continuing "another Jon situation" Margaery couldn't help but giggle at the mention of Robb's best friend.
"Jon situation? Nothing happened that night" she was quick to reply, and even quicker to redden.
"If your definition of nothing is admitting through tears that you had a crush on him pretty much all of your childhood, then throw up, then pass out, then wake up the next morning in his room while he assured you that you slept like a rock while he slept in the living-room and said he wished you were feeling better and that you two could pretend that what you said never happened..." she said, no longer holding back the laughter "OK, then, nothing happened" she took another sip of the mojito to stop laughing.
"OK, it's true that I'm not a heavy drinker and that sometimes, sometimes, I get a little... soapy" she tried to tell Margaery, but she just kept on laughing. "But he took care of me and never brought it up, unlike some people I know" she pointed out, taking little sips from her glass.
"Oh no, he would never do that. Jon Snow is the spitting image of chivalry perfection" she said in a melodramatic tone, similar to her brother's when he's teasing either of them. "You said that to me for forty minutes before you professed your love".
"Oh, shut up. It's been months since it happened and I want to forget about it. But I can't, because every time I drink something with alcohol in it you 'worry' about a Jon situation" she berated her friend.
"OK, no need to get all defensive, I'm just teasing" Margaery said while hugging her. "Besides, Jon Snow doesn't know shit if he can't see what a great, beautiful, smart young woman you are" she said, in all seriousness now. "So the veredict is final on Harry?" she asked, doing a one-eighty.
"Oh yeah. But don't get me started"
"To be honest, I truly don't know what I expected from the new guy" Margaery started, lifting one of her perfectly trimmed eyebrows, "but it certainly wasn't this. I mean, who invites professors to a party? I just saw Loras flirt with that TA from one of his classes".
"Well, he's not technically a professor, you just said he's a TA. And we definetely didn't dress for the occasion" Sansa said, looking down at her attire.
"Oh, honey, no. The occasion was not for us. We look great" her friend replied. Sansa was wearing one of Margaery's dresses, a long-sleeved purple mini dress with silver high heels. Margaery was wearing one of her favorite ensambles, a shimmery gold crop top with a matching high-waisted mini skirt with white-and-gold ankle boots. Both had their hair down, in a cascade of curls.

Hello. Love your blog! Could you describe what you find as the best quality of each Poirot iteration?
Hello and thank you for the great question! I wasn’t sure whether you meant the Poirot tv series and movies in general, or just the actors playing Poirot. I picked the latter but have also commented on the actors. :)
Hereare things that first come to mind when I think of each (more well known) adaptation:
MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS (1974) WITH ALBERT FINNEY – glamourand flair, satisfying mix of subtlety and theatricality, Poirot feels part ofthe group yet separated at the same time (role of the judge), Poirot’s intensityoff the charts (makes me think that’s his “Chief of Police mode" he slips into without even realizing), “old-fashioned” feel of the movie suits the 30s time period, solid direction,
POIROT MOVIES WITH PETER USTINOV (1978 - 1986) – fun and pleasing, humourous (also added humour in slower scenes), great likeability factor (especiallyin Ustinov’s jovial, deceptively harmless Poirot who is softened around the edges but still whip-smart), great ensambles, Poirot respected by other characters despite his eccentricities, scene-stealing iconic actors, underrated as a whole,
AGATHA CHRISTIE’S POIROT TV SERIES WITH DAVID SUCHET (1989 - 2013) – closeto the text while also giving main characters more to do, rich in detail, crowd pleaser, “feel-good tv”, a lot of added humour, chemistry between the main quartet of actors, Poirot’s character evolutionthrough the years, Poirot’s OCD is shown, definitive portrayal of Poirot, covers every Poirot mystery there is (or almost all of them, depending on how you look at it),
MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS (2017) WITH KENNETH BRANAGH – 30snostalgia, buoyancy and charm (with very charming Poirot), golden age of travel, great cinematography and direction and camera work, high stakes, emotional, poison ofdeep grief, perfect costumes, changes some things but still faithful to the book, great cast, Poirot’s OCD is shown, Poirot has a character arc despite time constraints, biggest moustache :),
THE ABC MURDERS WITH JOHN MALKOVICH (2018) – sombre and dark tone, often weighty, inventiveness(for example, certain characters get more background), the pervading creepiness, engaging mystery within amystery (new origin story for Poirot), fascinating Poirot, Inspector Crome more interesting than in the book.
Thanks again for the ask, it was fun breaking down each version! I love all my Poirots.
Cheers!

A roaring great time!
The Lion King recently made its appearance here in Columbia at the Koger Center. 🦁
First of all our seats were perfect, just about dead center in the Koger Center. This gave us the perfect perspective of the entire stage, side ensambles and side acts.
I loved this variation of The Lion King. It had many features of the film, but also included some of its own story line, musical moments and interactions.
The live singing and rhythmic dancing drew the audience in and made you want to watch it! The artists skillfully delivered a captivating show. The costuming was out of this world. In addition to that, the playful interactions of the dual roles of the actors and puppeteers was flawless.
The Koger Center hosted several family nights of The Lion King. This show would be perfect for a date night or girls night out. I was lucky enough to get to attend with two great friends.

do you have any good show recs for someone who is struggling to quit got?
Hi! I think it’s really hard to find a show that “replaces” that show, because of how huge its scale is, you know what I mean? So many characters, so much at stake, so huge a universe (at least in its good times). Also, it depends on what makes/made you like it: if it’s the characters, if it’s the fantasy, if it’s the politics, etc. But I con offer some suggestions of shows that I think might have some things in common and are worth checking:
Outlander (IMDb)
I feel the epic of this show could be compared. Also, a fantastic main character and a truly engaging story to tell. Season 3 is around the corner!
Black Sails (IMDb)
Big emsemble, well-written characters (many of them women and poc), and a good deal of shifting alliances, and politicking if that’s what you enjoyed :) The first season might not engage you, but I honestly think it’s worth keep watching. The show is complete, and has a close ending.
Orphan Black (IMDb)
Plot twists and amazing characters and a really well-crafted story. (And a freaking acting masterclass every episode). The show is also completed!
Medici: Masters of Florence (IMDb)
Once again, the scale is not the same, but it’s the birth of a poilitical dynasty with a late medieval backdrop. It’s also a delightfull show, with great characters you’ll probably fall in love with. (Also, you can delight at the meta irony of Richard Madden’s character marrying David Bradley‘s character’s daughter, if you are like me).
Harlots (IMDb)
Big ensamble of flawed, rounded, amazing female characters, plus a really great storyline about sex and power, peppered with a great deal of intriguing. In my humble opinion, the best period drama in 2017 (so far).
The Borgias (IMDb)
It’s not particularly historically accurate, but it’s a nice show - sadly, it was cancelled after season 3, so it doesn’t have a closed ending. But there are enough intriguing, power struggles (within the family and outside) and politicking that you could enjoy, if it’s your thing! It’s also really pretty to watch (the costumes and hair are amazing, and actually historically accurate!) Also, this.
(Please, be aware that most of these shows include scenes with sexual abuse, violence, etc.)
These are the ones I can think of right now! I hope you find something you like :) And if you want more recs about something different, just let me know, I watch way too many shows :P
