house reading wilson’s paper on euthanasia so he doesn’t ruin his career but also using it as a means to tell wilson he didn’t fail his patient and he is actually a valued doctor and friend even if he doesn’t always believe so in front of a room full of random people was a very romantic act actually

Hate to say it, but I am a Severus Snape hater
I've had a crush on my friends, and they dated someone I didn't approve of... but I never called my friend a slur cause of it

It makes me sad so many people think shadowpeach interactions are fan service. Their relationship (platonic or romantic) is so important to me and so important to the fabric of the show
Saying something is fan service as a complaint/criticism confuses me more than anything. Like, what defines "fan service"—what fans want to see? I know what I want out of my shows is very different from what others want. Is something still fan service even if it was set up and developed appropriately? I think that's just good writing. I think that's just writers service.
Now, I've not watched all of s5, but based off of the first two episodes shadowpeach's current relationship tracks. They're still downright mean to each other (ilu 5x01 argument), but they're willing to have kinda-sorta civil conversations and their jabs are far less cruel. Macaque, like usual, is so down bad and insane. Wukong kinda implied he trusted Macaque, and then Macaque responded in kind by sacrificing himself. He slept in their fucking beach tree. He's such a loser.
And it's like...at some point their relationship had to develop, you know. It was always going to go this direction and we spent 4 seasons getting here. We love the 3 way monkey foil that connects everything together.

SO not to talk about my various hustles on tumblr but: I bead pearls now!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have 0 budget for advertising but I am trying to sell them because at a certain point being creative just fills your house up.
What they are: handtied freshwater pearls with sterling silver clasps
Why are they cool: for one, they're pretty affordable for a gem that's been treasured since antiquity. For two, pearls actually have the potential to be super sustainable and actually clean the water they're grown in! Like they truly might be the most sustainable gem you can buy
What you can do to help my lil business get off the ground: reblog this and follow me on my very small Instagram because that's where the makers are these days, or even check out my shop if you're feeling rad
ok thank you

At this point I don't think Teruki's parents are exceptionally horrible individuals (long-term psychological consequences still happen in cases in which the abuse isn't considered particularly severe + everyone is capable of harm, even "good" people), but they weren't the best, without a doubt.
Okay, they got too busy with their jobs and had to move overseas to progress on their career. External circunstances. Things that happen. They left their son behind, but that could always be justified by hectic schedules of ever-moving businesspeople. How else could he have a stable routine to focus on his future? They're just busy. Teruki hasn't seen them in long but that's not their fault, right?
They cared for Teruki, didn't they? His parents made sure that there was someone home to watch him whenever they were far away. It was inevitable that there would be times he would be with himself, though. But that's not bad! It only became a problem once those strange espers tried to take hold of him on the street. And even then, they were so weak he could barely give them the title of a psychic. It wasn't an issue that it happened more and more and there was no one to intervene. Or that Teruki had to torture descriptions of "Claw organization" and "brainwashed soldiers" out of these grownups to know what they wanted with him. His parents couldn't know. Why should they know? Better put: what could they do?
What could a normal person do against someone with psychic powers?
It was Teruki's choice to live by himself. He could manage it all. Contrary to the other kids, he was an independent and responsible young man who could be trusted with a house and money. Such a great boy. His parents were so proud to have someone as competent as him as a son, one which wouldn't mean hard work for them. One who always had the best grades and was the soccer team's best player and was the best student on the town's best middle school.
Of course they would suddenly allow Teruki to live on his own. Any parent with a child like him would, wouldn't they? Anyone on their right mind and who knew the slightlest about him would be sure he could do it.
And even if this "Claw" organization scared him a bit and he felt a bit lonely at times, it wasn't an issue. Issue would mean it was an obstacle - which it wasn't, as Teruki did perfectly on his own. His parents believed on so. That's why he had his own apartment at 12 on the first place. Teruki was so wonderful at this. It wasn't horrible if they didn't answer his calls, because they were so busy and he wasn't a little kid who depends on his mommy. None of this was their fault. He shouldn't bother them or himself over this.
Because they cared, right? On the end, it was only a pile of tragic circunstances and coincidences no normal person could act against. It was part of life as someone special like him. He couldn't expect that his parents could change any of this, and this made his loneliness the best possible choice. It was obvious that they would support such a decision.
What would a normal person do against someone with psychic powers?

i. i listened to the villain song from Wish and. oh my god. that is not a fucking villain song. we're bein punk'd.
I'M GONNA JUST SAY THIS i think the concept for the villain was actually kinda interesting but I feel like the villain song needs to be rewritten ASAP and istg if the movie is as *incoherent noise* as the villain song, then i fell like it'll need to be redone/reimagined, too
Petition to remake the movie but in 2D animation, with a better storyline and a better villain song (i would even like to see people on the internet get together to make it happen)

"it is the realm beyond, and between, and through, and past the world"
since the release of the character playlists, and the rain road in the arc 1 finale my brain has been absolutely spinning about musicality in the wizard, the witch, and the wild one. and the relationship between music and the spirit realm, and then how that intersects with umora.
because since the beginning there has been this emphasis between the world of spirits and music. eursulon's theme, when we first meet him, before he crosses over, is this beautiful choral music—the first time we hear singing in the show. and then there is your honey is quiet, honey with a note of song. the first diegetic song we hear performed, is sung to honour the spirits.
(edit: eursulon’s breath!!! the thing that brings him back to himself, after it had been lost!!!!)
so i have the rain road on repeat and i'm re-listening to fireside chats and in the one for the first episode brennan describes the world of spirit by saying "it is the world beyond, and between, and through, and past the world" and it reminded me of the scoring. we hear the stories of umora, but beyond, between, through, and past the world; surrounding it, but separate from it is the score. (making me feel like us, the audience, is sitting and existing in the spirit realm. and if it is supernal, if it is what is beyond and between and through and past the world— aren't we?)
but that called to mind eursulon's character playlist, and how it, especially in it's representations of eursulon's early journey, was so instrumental. and that led me to ponder the intersection of music and language. how young eursulon's theme was choral but not lyrical.
the structure of language is the domain of umora.
and how that intersects interestingly with what we have seen of the lingua arcana. suvi's rhythmic somatic components. reflexive indicative and null clef alluding to the structure of grammar and music theory.
and then how the rain road is choral and lyrical, together. the first breaking of that line between the score and the world. connecting, like ame does.
and that is why in the wizard the witch and the wild one ame is a meta narrative representation of musical theatre. in this essay i will—

How long do you think it took for the other first years to realize that Megumi is literally Gojo’s boy? I can’t ever imagine them getting an answer out of Megumi (he absolutely can and will summon Mohoraga to make sure he’ll take this truth to the grave) but on the other hand we have Gojo broadcasting to the world his blatant favoritism of Megumi ahahaha
ooooh that's an excellent question. It was definitely well after yuuji died and came back to life, so more than a month at least. By the time Yuuji officially comes back to life, Kugisaki's already started teasing megumi about Gojo's obvious favoritism of him. Yuuji quickly hops on board with it.
I think the other first years initially assume that Gojo's just the kind to play favorites with students or is partial to megumi because he was originally the only first year in Gojo's class or something. Megumi isn't about to tell them that Gojo raised him, so he just brushes it off whenever they start to tease him.
The second years, however, had Megumi as Gojo's son built into their introduction. It's so long been foundational to how they think of him that they just assume everyone knows. They're the ones to rat him out.
(nobara, taking the piss: and there's gojo playing favorites again. it's completely unfair.
Yuuji, immediately on the same bullshit as her: completely
Nobara: what do you have that we don't fushiguro
Panda, overhearing this: ... I mean it's kind of obvious, right?
Megumi, knows the jig is up: *takes off for the door*
Panda: I mean yeah Megumi's Gojo's favorite. He's his son. didn't you know?
Nobara: :o
Yuuji: :o
Nobara: he's his fucking wha--hey, get back here!
Yuuji, Climbing On Top Of Him: Why don't you tell us anything about your life?????)

#dimension 20#dimension 20 spoilers#d20 introductions#mentopolis#mentopolis spoilers#d20 mentopolis#HOT DAMN............. what a season#that was unbelievably goofy and looney toons level silly but like. what a fun ride#i feel like the kids on bikes system really opens the door for a lot of those moments from what i've seen it's so great#also having a secret narrative stat that uses the fucking d100 as the die roll was like VERY silly but also like.#it has me going a little bit insane about like ways that could be used in like other genres or things or whatever#like god damn that's a good way to represent some aspect of character that is just so impossibly strong that like......#when they tap into that they just cannot fail#which kinda sucks in terms of balancing for gameplay but like god damn‚ narratively?#and like restricting it so that stat only sort of becomes awakened or usable when that sort of deeply rooted personal growth comes into pla#this might be kind of a weird stretch but like.... the crests from the og digimon adventure?#like if they managed to tap into those aspects of themselves and their crests glow‚ that's their d100 stat‚ their crests#and all sorts of astronomically powerful shit could sort of come about from them acting within their strongest parts of themselves in turn#i don't know. maybe i'm just too digimon brained maybe i'm just a little too hooked on that digimon ttrpg show that uses kids on bikes too#but like...................................... fuck.#i don't know‚ it could be something!#anyways i really enjoyed these sort of lightly animated scenes of the real world that elias hodge got to star in as the pov#very VERY fun how they played across the dome in game too#also oh my godddddd anastasia and fawnbrooke......... bro i'm gay#was this season sillier than fantasy high? or escape from the bloodkeep? probably#like the lore and worldbuilding was unabashedly bonkers due to it all existing in the mental manifestation of the human brain#and VERY funny at that#probably the silliest d20's ever been! but i loved it#alright‚ guess that's it for this one#see y'all next season!!

Me, to myself, with grit teeth, after my spouse is once again kind of *shrugs* "That's, ehm, not really for me." about something I made:
They don't have to like it because they're not my audience.

I'm at season 3 of Star Wars rebels and the amount of people that have adopted Ezra is hilarious. Like Hera saw this boi and immediately asks Kanan to take him as his apprentice, Rex sees him and immediately decides that he is his little cadet and is responsible for his training and don't get me started on Maul, he sees Ezra for a few seconds and calls him "apprentice"
