okay first of all 😔 book stan bashing so uncalled for 😔😔whats the hostility for 😔😔 will NOT tolerate this bashing on MY BLOG ??? MY POST ??? audacity. disrespect. literally who even r u….(/s) let me make it clear i consumed and enjoyed the shows because theyre tsc content, and im so critical of them BECAUSE im SO passionate ab tsc and every character and plot detail. i said i hate it but im being dramatic to convey my frustration. its cringe and bad but i watched it and ate it tf up !!!

and bc tsc is such a big/important hyperfixation of mine accuracy is extremely important to me. i love magnus and alec so much individually as characters and together. i love it/them so much i rip out my hair when its/theyre misinterpreted and whatnot. gnawing at the bars of my enclosure if u would

it doesnt take a genius to figure out that books convey things in ways visual media cannot. inner dialogue and narration and descriptions that arent spoken can add SO MUCH to a scene that a picture just cant. so saying that alec and magnus’ love and love story seems so much so saying that alec and magnus' love and love story seems so much heavier with love and emotion and desperation and devotion in the books, with EVERY. INTERACTION. every words spoken every touch every THOUGHT of the other. every time they see them, their physical and mental reactions to everything. you just cant get that in shows. and i also think this is where the acting falls short and falls flat. (i adore the actors!!! matt and harry my beloveds, they are our magnus and alec but i cringe so hard whenever i rewatch LOL) this doesnt even mention the plot points and details in the books that add so much and so much weight that arent included or are changed.

i dont want to assume youve not read the books but it sounds like you havent. so trust me when i say (even though its not the only thing i was harping on his eye color is IMPORTANT. symbolism and parallels and historically very important. going back over a century.

also what about everything else 😔😔 i wasnt just talking ab his eyes. so much dimension and depth is lost. them waiting to get married for years, having kids before, is so important and speaks so powerfully of their devotion to each other. it adds so much emotional and devotional depth and dimension. they wanted to be able to marry under THEIR terms when everyone would have to accept them as a shadowhunter and a warlock together. its so AAOOUGH. and their kids 😭 so cute. and magnus being taller than alec. alec saying he never was with a guy taller than him and he found it very comforting and felt so right kissing a man taller than him. LITTLE DETAILS ARE EVERYTHING.

also blue eyed alec for the win because hes gorgeous

you dont know that sometimes magnus wears his worn out sweaters

you dont know that they didnt get married for years until alec became consul and they could get married in warlock blue and shadowhunter gold under his new law

you dont know they have two kids, before they ever married

you dont know their first son is named after alec’s brother max, who actually died during the war

you dont know that max’s skin is blue, and his eyes are just a shade darker than alec’s

you dont know that alec loved one man so much he changed the world for him

Hey speaking of dungeon meshi, I think its really fucked up that the story brings up slavery Twice and just glosses over it. Esp when one of said mentions is pointing out that one of the characters OWNS another which makes all their interactions a whole lot less cute.
