You swallow, and a hand clutching at your trousers leads you to believe you just might know who he's talking about. Mike Schmidt hides as best he can behind the counter, shivering with a fear you've never seen the likes of before.

You've been quiet a beat too long before you open your mouth.

Crack Fic Idea

we enter. the scene is a therapists office with a therapist (obviously) sitting in a chair. across from this therapist is a familiar dream demon laying down on a couch while hugging a pillow.

its Meng Mo and he's detailing the most recent dream Binghe had about Shen Qingqiu. however, Meng Mo is so traumatized when he gets to the end/climax of the dream he just breaks out into sobs.

so essentially the fic is a collection of like 'therapist logs' and notes on Meng Mo and what he deals with on a semi-nightly basis because he is inhabiting the dreams of a fucked up 14-17 year old.

On another Star Wars topic, something that’s always surprised me is all the bad reviews I’ve seen for the Kenobi show.

“It’s just another bad-plotted Disney gambit” “it didn’t go anywhere” “it didn’t make sense” “x y and z made it bad”

It makes me remember not everyone was a rabid Obikin shipper whose fave characters were Obi Wan and Anakin like me who watched the show entirely through like, cracked rose-colored glasses and happily experienced it feeding me every self-indulgent angsty fanfic trope I could have asked for

Me, pulling my head back up out of the giant Obikin-flavored cake I’ve cheerfully faceplanted into and have been happily remaining submerged in the flavor ever since like a pig in a trough, picking frosting out of my ear: muh?

It is also a teeny bit weird to make Zoya being prettier and thus a more ideal sun summoner be set up as thing to be proven wrong in the beginning but then Zoya actually becomes the Queen with lots of focus on how gorgeous she is and Alina fades into obscurity and wears old shawls.

I mean yeah.

Because apparently one of the messages this trilogy wanted to pass was how nothing is what it seems. Alina is not weak but very powerful, she just doesn't know it. Aleksander is not a man to be trusted but a selfish, power-hungry bastard, except Alina doesn't realize it until it was too late (*inserting dramatic tones if you didn't notice*).

Normally, Zoya wouldn't get that much spotlight. But, alas, Bardugo has said many times that she's one of her most favorite characters so she was bound to become important. A Squaller (among hundreds) became important by becoming a Saint as well.

Saints in the Grishaverse normally have very distinct, unusual powers. Alina had her light, Aleksander his shadows, Elizaveta's Materialki powers manifested themselves through her ability to control nature while Ilya didn't allow his powers to be restricted at all (he was both a Healer and a Durast as well as an inventor). Plus, they get martyred and Zoya is...well....alive.

Her push to the spotlight was, for me, too forced while, at the same time, the author tried to remove Alina's presence (as if she wasn't the main character for three books straight that the antagonist fell in love with and his plans revolved around her). Whether someone likes Alina or not, we have to admit that it's not going to be the same without her on the front. The story doesn't really make sense without her. It's like removing Harry Potter from his own books.

And it seems that whether Alina has powers or not, she stays hidden. And Zoya got what she wanted all along: the spotlight.

The two people connected by the red thread are destined lovers, regardless of place, time, or circumstances. This magical cord may stretch or tangle, but never break.

Gwendolyn never cared much about the string that ties you to your soulmate, she didn't understand the purpose it held or even the real meaning of a soulmate. Her mama didn't have one, and she was happy that way. Gwendolyn was happy too, her and her mama didn't need anyone else.

She noticed on the drive to their new home that her string getting darker and darker. It worried her, she should be excited but doubt crept into her mind. So much is changing, and she has to deal with that on top of it all.

Gwen didn't tell her mama about her string, she didn't need to hear the detailed explanation for it. Mama already had so much to deal with...

When she found the paper airplane, it served her a good distraction. It had her name on it! It was a mystery made for her to solve!

Gwendolyn didn't even register that she was following the slight tugging of her string until she was at the base of a structure. She stared up at it in wonder and saw quick movement as a figure stood on the fort and looked down at her.

When their eyes met, she finally understood it. A wave of ease washed over her, a warm feeling filled her chest. There was immediate comfort in the air between them. And she knew everything was going to be okay.

ekky bearhugging noesen while maffhew helps by sticking a glove up in his face as they both push/pull him back so forsy has enough space to get up. babes thats what we call double teaming!!! special mention the ref trying to get maffhew to let go off his quarry because ekky already has a hefty hold of em but he hasn't learned the drop command yet so he's resource guarding.

honestly by the power of a ref and meier does benny also not get involved but brother he was 5 seconds away from jumping noesen. jesper is just here to oversee his feisty teammates. he's here in spirit.

the ref giving up and instead just trying to get maffhews stick out of the way as ekky calms down and let's go of his hunt

and the most beautiful part of all is bobby immediately vacating the area as his teammates muck it up because that is not in his job description!! it may be his circus and those may be his monkeys but if he looks the other way they sure as hell aren't.

so, for anyone who saw my previous post tonight one of our pipes burst which has caused a great deal of damage to a lot of our house. we're doing all we can to try and clean up on our own but if anyone can help by donating that would be immensely appreciated. i spent the last few hours alternating between wanting to cry and scooping water into our bath to try and minimalize the damage.
