Weighing up the possibility of Fukuzawa dying/retiring at the end of this arc
Fukuzawa as currently broken by grief from Fukuchi's death, and the fact that he died for nothing. He's only left with the memories of him, insights into his desire for world peace and how he was ready to give everything up, and give the world to him. This man is crushed by the weight of his grief and his possible new responsibility for the army of mankind, making him possibly responsible for the safety of the world - if the world can make it.
The Divine being, bearing Fukuchi's face, is destroying everything and everyone around them, going against everything Fukuchi died for. The ADA is going to have a hard time against Fyodor and his new weapon, and sacrifices may have to be made to save the world. Fukuzawa wants to protect the people that he loves. The situation is dire, he's on his last legs with numerous life threatening injuries - it's only natural that he may think of giving his life to save the rest of the ADA.
But, equally he may not. His ability helps keep the agency members in control of their abilities, and without that they could put themselves or others in serious danger. Since he's all about protecting them, it seems unlikely he'd want to put them in that danger. Plus, the deal with the Port Mafia is still unfulfilled, and he is the only one that can vouch for the idea that Yosano is off limits. Him dying would leave his agency - his family - in a tough spot that he may not be willing to risk.
However, he may not cope with the pressure of being leader of the army of mankind, even if he did survive. If he were to survive and try and carry on Fukuchi's legacy of world peace through it, then I could see him being active in the story still. But we've already previously set up the idea that Kunikida would take over from Fukuzawa if needed, so there's also a possibility that he may simply retire/take a break. His ability can still act on his subordinates if they swear loyalty to him, so maybe with Kunikida as acting leader of the ADA he could take some time off to recover and mourn in a non-life-threatening situation. Perhaps he may even keep Poe's book from the airport battle, having it rewritten so he can dive into it occasionally and reminisce on the fonder, more joyful experiences he had with Fukuchi, instead of the sacrifices he made under the influence of a false narrative.
Whatever the outcome, the Fukuzawa we knew before this arc and the one we have after likely will not be quite the same.
[This kind of turned into an angst post but feel free to discuss what you think Fukuzawa's fate may be after this arc (regardless of the author's track record on character death bait) because i don't think it's looking too good]

self destruction really is such a fascinating human response to various factors both external and internal. what if sisyphus could leave at any time but kept rolling the boulder up the hill just to watch it roll back down anyway. what if he kept pushing it even as the rock cut into his palms and his legs began to ache with the desire to rest for even a moment and his body became a canvas of bruises and cuts that never have time to heal. what if he did it because it's the only thing he knows how to do. the only thing that gives him a sense of certainty and control in a world that takes both and offers neither.

can't believe that skeleman has turned on us, and Halloween Prom is tomorrow.
(what a top-tier UM...we are about to be just totally obliterated in the absolute silliest way. what possible use could this power have outside of bringing us to the brink of utter holiday disaster.)

Happy Amok Time Day, friendly reminder that Theodore Sturgeon, the writer of the episode, is credited with the first positive portrayal of homosexuality in science fiction with his short story The World Well Lost (1953), 14 years before Amok Time aired. Which could mean nothing.

also also. like i know we've talked about the husbandism but i don't think we've talked about the specifics of it enough because that was like. rehearsed. buck rambles his way through a story and eddie provides contextualising information for those who aren't grossly entwined in his life and buck knows to take breaths to let eddie do this before seamlessly picking the thread of the narrative back up. it's literally insane. you can tell this is something they've done a thousand times before. THE RITUALS!!! THEY'RE INTRICATE!!!!!!!

Spare a thought for Con O'Neill who, for months, went to comic cons and had to listen to people telling him how important Izzy is to them, how they see themselves in him and how, if something bad happened to Izzy, they would be absolutely devastated. Man deserves an award.

words cannot express how much i love the cosmic horror trope of "character gets too close to The Horrors but instead of going insane or being blinded or otherwise physically scarred or cognitively impaired they just lose their emotional capacity completely, becoming an anhedonic shell, which doesn't seem like it should be such a terrible fate compared to what what else they could have lost until you remember that your feelings also govern your basic self-preservation and survival instincts, ability to make choices, consent, etc."

ok so i met dan and phil on thursday (haven't processed it yet). i was 4th to last to meet them and i printed out 4 photos of my 4 cats and asked them to choose which one they resonate with the most.
dan IMMEDIATELY went "i want that orange cat." with extreme passion. and then 20 minutes later in the preshow one of the questions was which cat would you get and phil says "orange" and dan said "phil has orange cat energy :3" and my gf and i looked at each other with terror in our hearts
