★ toya doesn’t really like regressing in front of more than one person (said person being either tsukasa or akito), so the times he slips in front of vbs are treated as sacred moments and they all try to get as much “toya time” as possible

★ in all the sekais the kagamines regress too!! (this is how tsukasa found out about regression)

★ nene, when regressed, uses an AAC app on her phone so that she just needs to press buttons and the voice will speak for her (shes semi nonverbal)

★ also when mizuki learns about this, they introduce it to mafuyu (also a mostly nonverbal baby) and it works well!!

i love how real project sekai feels

like yeah nothing about hatsune miku giving therapy to kids through a pocket dimension is realistic but like. everything that happens in the stories is just. ough.

like normally i dont like slice of life stuff that much but something about reading the stories and being able to just relate so easily to them (correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure i heard prsk is kinda geared towards younger audiences/teens so it makes sense) in a way that a lot of media doesnt do for me just hits really hard. especially when they get into the really shitty stuff about being a teenager which they just do it so well. like even if they have to censor some stuff (like wording what is essentially mafuyus suicide attempt as "disappearing") they really dont hold back or water it down to "dont kill yourself youre our friend :(" and mafuyu going "ok yeah ur right im fixed", its just like. it feels good to have a game that doesnt just show highschool through some super happy lense and actually shows what being a teen is like, at least in my experience

3. What do you think is a missed opportunity/something you wish was done better?

Ahaa.ha I feel like you know the answer,, but I also don't feel like I can say what I think with much authority because I havent been able to get myself to read anything past lutf, some people said it got better with oyf but the hater in my heart doesn't want to believe that. I will suck it up and see the rest of their arc to end myself.. one day....

(Maybe this is tmi) but as someone who has had the devastating experience of being lied to about a beloved relatives terminal cancer, that plot point hit wayy too fuckin close to home for me to distance myself from it and view it as its own story. I know in my brain its just characters and everyone processes shit differently, but I think the conclusion of lutf was so bad and so out of line with how I perceived the situation, that it just. couldn't be fixed beyond that point, for me.

I know vbs are your babies and I do love them, just not in their source material. I don't mean to bring down people who do like their stories, I just have so many problems with the writing even outside of lutf that the ending of lutf sorta nailed the coffin on enjoying their canon for me personally

Is it necessarily bad writing? I guess not considering the genre and medium limitations? But it also felt lazy and unsatisfying after such a dramatic buildup. It sucks cause radders story is done SO WELL it felt like the devs just wanted to use vbs as a means to write their story instead of investing that same level of story writing into,, you know, their actual playable and marketable characters??????

I was a killer rock band gamer as a kid, that and wii sports resort were the only games I wanted to play FOR. YEARS. I have rock band to blame for my taste in 90s and 00s punk rock now.

What led me to prsk was bandori tho. I was tired of waiting on endori's bs scheduling because I wanted to tier pasupares Title Idol event, I saw some nijisanji en girlies promoting colorful stage and had seen tokishun tweeting about it so I thought hey, why not. Worst decision of my life probably 🫶

My first thought was Saito Ayaka because she's just So Me. She's my self-insert. Worlds most normal Shizuku fan. She looks like me, dresses like me, cries and falls to shizukus feet and praises the ground she walks on..

hey it’s the writing anon from a while ago ^_^ read your thread on akito and kashika and i’d like to say THANK YOU for recognizing that kashika doesn’t have to be read so literally when looking at akito as a character 😭

it is genuinely a little jarring to see people go “oh he canonically wants to die hahaha” and leave it at that when he’s really been on a path of healthy growth for a while as of burn my soul … please!! he’s found a way out of the mindset of survival and desperation, he’s grown to love what he’s doing without so much of the fear of being left behind and his storied “future” is more within his grasp than ever, because he’s let his partners in and is more willing to lean on them, growing alongside them

i’m not saying we should disregard what he’s gone through in the past but i’ve also noticed it’s a bit of a trend within people interpreting akito to attribute his past actions to his current self— like i STILL see people bring his actions in main story and use that as their baseline for how he is as a character when it’s…. just not that true anymore. yes he’s kind of an asshole but he’s also learned that he has a place within vbs and that he loves his groupmates and they love him :(

yes it really seems like a good chunk of the prsk fandom struggles with like... acknowledging character development. i'm not entirely sure what it is, but it's insane to see how many people treat these characters like they're static figures. it's one thing to revisit past events and explore avenues colopale didn't take, and build upon the things they neglected (or just re-build entirely where they fucked up). it's another to look at everything akito is doing Now and respond to it with "he's about to overwork himself and go into another long spiral isn't he. oh look he got a line in beyond the way with the word 'die' in it he must still be suicidal and struggling with his inferiority complex oh no 😱" LIKE

akito has come so, so, SO far. his development means the world to me !!!! it has been so amazing to see this scared, self-conscious, bitter, traumatized kid grow into someone who is Confident and Passionate and Excited and Bright. he's grown!! he's learned!! we see him reaffirm multiple times in other events that he's not going to go down the same path he did in SBD - other characters will see him still practicing or about to go for a run or whatever and check in on him and he always tells them he knows better now. because he does! he's not just saying that !!!!

it took him some time to adjust, but he knows vivid bad squad has his back. kotaro has his back. ken-san has his back. ena has his back. hell even arata and tsukasa fucking tenma have his back. he knows he has a support system now ! these are people who want him by their side, and no they're not going to leave him when he stumbles and falls behind; they'll simply pull him back up and they'll just keep moving forward. Together.

and citing kashika as confirmation that he's (still) suicidal is crazy because that's not what the song is about? it's about him reflecting on his past and all the shitty things he went through that caused him to develop that bitter inferiority complex he struggled with for so long. and how he's starting to feel ready to move on from it all. even from haruryo's perspective, in which all the lines about wanting to die are literal, kashika is still a very, very, very positive song !! it's still about moving forward and allowing your love of music (or [insert personal Love of choice here]) to help you through dark times. it's not a song about wanting to kill yourself; it's a song about wanting to live.

idk this all is just super important to me because i am all about stories about growth and healing and recovery. and it's frustrating to glance at the prsk fandom and see people squandering these beautiful stories for... i don't even know what or why 😭

Yea, my intro to the 'genre' overall was the first idolmas anime, and i've seen my share of anime spinoffs. largely enjoyable! things with multimedia can explore a greater range of stories, which is always fun IMO. would love to see a prsk anime sometime. puchiseka is a fun time, but gimme more.

An really reminds me of another character, Hime from Yozakura Quartet. As you say, they so embody their home's love because of how much they were given it, and so share it with others, and it's really just Nice that characters have someone like that in their corner.

Mm, I don't think kids would be that 'low' yet, if that makes sense--to lose you must first have, and I'd say the lowest times for them were when they were separated; we've seen how much Saki was hurting being away from them all--i imagine the start may have been as simple as 'hey the teacher put us together'.

but certainly, them standing by each other with their distinct tastes when they were little bound them up together. we've seen how ichika came off as very cool to the others when she was younger, jumping in to help even if she didn't quite have a plan, and her love for miku was already notable then. we know how the others admired shiho's focus on bands and her choices to always do things her way, even as others found it odd. and there's no real questions about why they loved honami and saki. what some kids may find strange, others admire, and you don't get a bond as strong as leo/need (and one so devastating to lose) without standing through some rough weather together, so to speak.

Sorry if this turns into a bit of a rant but, this answer really made me think. Is that weird?

I think of all the vocoloids, I probably always said meiko or luka held my favour (only if gumi wasn’t an option, prsk made me love her more if anything). But it kind of occurred to me that I usually end up doodling miku over anyone else. In the corners of my notebooks, filling pages of sketchbooks, and messing up university hand outs and prints. There is a teal, blue-green girl with twin tails and a smile, cheering me on.

Comforting me. I didn’t get much comfort as a kid, but Miku was definitely the one I listened to most when I needed that comfort. So this answer, after I thought a lot, it made me weirdly nostalgic, melancholic and happy all at once.

Maybe I’ll make my own sekai.

✧ Haruka is well too familiar with faking your true feelings, so of course she doesn't want you to go through that

✧ as an idol, she fant show ant moment of weakness or sadness, she has to always smile no matter how rough it is so I feel like she could recognize you faking something when you two got to know each other more

✧ she began to explore that topic mor and eventually figured out it's tou self esteem, you're always so sure about you self and yet, your moves show a lot of doubt...

✧ that's a skill she's a little happy she got, she's good at figuring out what others really feel just by body language

✧ she'll do her best to make sure you're not forcing yourself into anything and tries to make the conversation go that way, so you wouldn't feel forced to take you high esteem

✧ if this actually throws you off and you stop pretending, she quickly gets a grab of the situation and does her best to comfort you

✧ but if it doesn't and you'll stick to your faking, she won't even noticed! It's safe to say she only does once you tell her about it

✧ now she feels bad for just leaving you like that so first thing she does is assuring you that you're not as useless as you may think

✧ she has experience with kids so even if you two wouldn't be so close, she can still sweet talk you. But usually she'd prefer not to and speak only from heart!

✧ with that, he recognizes you're problem rather easily, but somehow he thinks it's your way of learning how to really love yourself so he decides to just support you of it!

✧ whenever you drop a line of how great you are, he'll immidietly agree. And on daily basis, he'll drop a compliment for you!

✧ he'll probably eventually approach the topic of self confidence training and that's probably how he discovera you're not exactly faking your self-esteem as confidence training...

✧ it's safe to say, this boy is absolutely stunned, he didn't expect that someone as great as you could have these problems!

✧ now that he knows you lack self confidence, he does his best to help you with it

✧ except a compliment at leady once a day and him initiating mirror practice for you. It might be a bit awkward at first but it gets funnier with time

✧ if you decide to keep it to yourself, there's nothing more she can do than respect that

✧ but if you do tell her, she'll listen to your problems and reasons with kind gaze and after it she'll even do everything she can to help you with your problem

1. my little pony and invader zim are like, the only shows i regularly watched when i was a kid. never been much of a tv person

3. uhhhhhh i don't think i watch enough movies to answer this. i don't even know what my favorite movie is off the top of my head 😭

4. !!!! first off give that man his melanin. he is brown!!!! i'd have to draw him (hyv designs are intimidating i've been Afraid to draw any of these guys LOL) and mess with the colors so they don't blend together too much / clash but i think his hair is less Blonde and more of a blonde-leaning light brown. also it's curly :)

he has a lot of scars, but almost all of them are covered by his clothes, gloves, and his heavy watches and bracelets. i think it'd be cute if he had freckles... not very many. a few splashed on his cheeks (he hides them with foundation... you can only see them if you catch him right after waking up, or after a Very long day and his makeup has started smudging) and some here and there across the rest of his body. and this isn't exactly appearance related but i wanna say that all the jewelry he wears minus his watch is stuff he made himself ^^

5. oh i don't even know. like, i have no idea what to Begin to expect from something like this? i generally don't tune into prsk lives... this will be the first one i'll be sitting down to watch from start to finish, so. I Don't Know. it'd be cool if they swap covers or perform them together or something... i've always dreamed of hearing a leoni daybreak frontline cover. i'll be very happy no matter what though this is the best thing they could have ever done

i love and hate how prsk pulls out all the stops every anniversary. i haven't slept properly in like 6 days because there is just so much new stuff. for me to look at. with my eyes. and my kids are all grown up now and i'm fucking inconsolable
