They are very shy and uncertain about it. Would you accept their confession or would you decline it? Would you even hear them out?! Their mind is panicking and they're nervous. They get even more nervous when they see you approaching while they fidget with the card they made for you in their hands. It's a very quick and sweet and they're all smiles when you accept!

Straightforward and to the point, they're not going to waste time and honestly they just want to hear your answer so these feelings can stop eating at them every time they see you. It's so annoying that they get these butterflies whenever you laugh or smile! They want to be the one to make you smile like that. And kiss your face if you'd let them...

They're nervous but in a different way. Their nervousness is on the inside rather than showing it on the outside. They're ready for whatever answer you give them and have prepared themselves for rejection. Though, their confession ends up being a little forward because they wanted to beat their anxiety and just say it outright to you rather than beating around the bush. They mean well though!

Very nervous and excited. This time, they're very excited to confess even though they haven't really prepared or thought about rejection. They're just too excited to tell you about their feelings and although rejection does cross their mind while they wait for you to arrive. If you do reject them, oh well! At least you guys can be friends, right? They very excitedly tell you after mentioning they have something to tell you.

A little more reserved with their feelings, they are forward and don't beat around the bush but they are cautious about it. They know rejection is a possibility and they wanted to be completely sure in their feelings for you before even thinking about confessing. Even then they were still a bit iffy when you arrived, thinking of not telling you just yet but, they don't regret it when they do end up confessing and you accept!

HARUKA KIRITANI

Haruka admires your dedication to fencing, though she doesn’t always understand the appeal of such an intense sport. Still, she listens intently whenever you talk about techniques or strategies, nodding along with quiet interest.

She’s hesitant to try it herself but will gladly watch you practice. Sometimes, she catches herself getting distracted—not by the sport, but by the way you move, every precise motion captivating in its own way.

After practice, Haruka often comes to your fencing matches when she can. She’s not one to cheer loudly, but you can always spot her in the crowd, hands neatly folded in her lap, watching you with admiration shining in her eyes.

Whenever you come over to her house sore from training, she’s the first to gently scold you for pushing yourself too hard before guiding you to the couch, insisting on helping you relax with tea and a warm blanket.

Haruka secretly loves when you teach her small things about fencing—like the proper way to hold a foil or the stances used. Haruka isn’t competitive, but she likes learning things that are important to you.

One evening, as you wrap up a training session, Haruka tugs at your sleeve, her voice soft. "You look so beautiful when you fight… It’s like watching a dance only you know the steps to."

LYNETTE

Lynette is quietly intrigued by your fencing skills. She watches with an observant gaze, her expression unreadable, but you can tell she’s analyzing every movement, as if trying to commit it to memory.

She rarely says much while watching you practice, but she always lingers nearby, subtly making sure you’re not overexerting yourself. If you train too long, she’ll appear beside you with a cup of water, wordlessly offering it.

When you mention fencing footwork, she nods knowingly. "Precision and agility are important," she murmurs. And to your surprise, Lynette moves with an eerily similar grace—perhaps her own line of work isn’t too different.

She doesn’t mind being your sparring partner, even if she’s not a fencer herself. Her movements are quick and unpredictable, making it a challenge, but she always lets you win with an amused glint in her eyes.

While she doesn’t show it often, she’s protective of you. If anyone underestimates you because of your love for fencing, Lynette will simply stare them down, unimpressed, before remarking how foolish it is to misjudge someone with a blade.

As she hands you a towel after practice, she tilts her head slightly, a rare hint of fondness slipping into her voice. "You wield your blade beautifully. It suits you."

MAKI ZEN'IN

Maki respects your love for fencing immediately. She doesn’t care if it’s different from her own fighting style—if it involves skill, discipline, and a weapon, then it’s something she can get behind.

Training together becomes a routine. You practice fencing while she sharpens her own techniques, sometimes pausing to critique your form or offer tips with a smirk. "Your footwork’s decent, but you could be faster," she teases.

She loves watching you fight, though she won’t admit it outright. There’s something about the confidence in your stance, the determination in your strikes, that makes her chest tighten in a way she can’t quite explain.

If anyone ever belittles fencing as just a "sport," Maki is the first to shut them down. "Oh? You think it’s easy?" she’ll say with a sharp grin. "Try sparring her, then. See how long you last."

After particularly intense training sessions, she’ll lean against you, arms crossed, acting casual. But you can tell she’s secretly checking for injuries, her gaze scanning over you like she’s making sure you’re still in one piece.

As she hands you your practice sword one afternoon, Maki smirks, her tone light but sincere. "You’re strong—stronger than you think. And I like that about you."

Akito:

You and Akito had been going out for a couple of months, and having him over to your house wasn't new. What was new, however, was him finding an old photobook

"Huh...What's this?" He waves the photobook haphazardly in the air, and your eyes go wide as you quickly try to grab it from him, "Be careful-"

He can tell that you're trying to hide something, so while he holds you off, he looks through the photobook. And he almost can't believe his eyes

It's full of photos of you, you as a cute little toddler that's all bubbly smiles at the camera; the complete opposite of you now. It makes his chest feel warm, in a way

He looks up at you with a grin of mischief, pointing at a photo of you that makes you flush with embarrassment. He laughs, wrapping his arm around you as he compares the photo to you

"Look at how cute you are, so bubbly too...What happened, huh?" He's nothing but teases and smiles <3

Mizuki:

Mizuki always has a tendency of looking through things they shouldn't, and that doesn't change when you date them. So, while we were off doing who knows what, they were looking around

"Well well, what's this?" They held up a photobook found from under your bed, glancing towards the doorway to make sure you weren't looking before they opened it up

They can barely hold in the absolute squeal that comes out when they see the contents of the photobook, their eyes sparkling as their hands rest over their mouth

There were so many photos of baby you, looking like the happiest thing alive. It makes them lose their mind, how is it possible for you to be so cute?

They're quick to find you, hugging you from behind and laughing as they shrug off your flustered exclamations of them finding the photobook, simply showing you their favorite photos

"Just look how absolutely adorable you are!! How are you so cute??" They can't even tease you, they're just gushing <3

Kanade:

It takes a lot to drag your girlfriend, Kanade, out of her home, so she definitely discovers your photobook on accident. She was sitting on the couch, when her foot bumped against something

"Huh...?" She looks down, fingers brushing over the photobook before she pulls it out, looking at it curiously. You glance over at the sound, letting out a laugh. "Ah, my baby photos..."

After getting your permission, she takes a peek through the photobook, her eyes widening slightly at the contents. Her fingers skim over the photos with awe

There are so many photos of you as a baby, and you look so bubbly and happy. A part of her can't help but hope that one day, she can bring that smile back to your face

You look a bit embarrassed beside her, so she's quick to rest her head on your shoulder. She smiles, looking down at the photos before looking back up at you

"You were a really adorable kid..." Her compliments are soft and a bit shy, but you know she means it from the bottom of her heart <3

Haruka:

Haruka is the other person who wouldn't purposefully try to snoop around and find the photobook. You two were sitting and talking in your room when she saw it in the corner of her eye

"I've never seen that before..." She comments curiously, and you look over your shoulder, an embarrassed look slipping over your face, "Oh, it's just a photobook from when I was younger..."

She's definitely intrigued after you say that, and she asks if she can see. After a bit of hesitance, you hand it over, and she opens the photobook carefully

Her eyes immediately widen, a soft smile slipping onto her lips as she takes in all of your baby photos, laughing softly at how cute you looked

She brings you into a hug, keeping the photobook across your laps as she kissed your cheek, gently squeezing you as she complimented every single photo of you

"You are so adorable, just look at that grin!" Her words absolutely shine with the adoration she feels for you <3

Haruka:

-Let's be honest. As much as she loves you to the bits, sometimes what you said creeped her out.

-The whole 'life is strange in a world like this, isn't it?' or 'have you ever wondered what life would be like in a videogame?' was so strange for her to hear. It's like you were trying to tell her something, yet she couldn't pinpoint what it was.

-So, she decided to ask you directly. And you were straightforward with her. You couldn't lie to your beloved.

-She didn't believe it at first. Her and you, living in a videogame? It was weird. Especially because you knew about her SEKAI. But she slowly wrapped her mind around the concept of it. You did have a point on how weird it was that a world like SEKAI existed.

-Maybe she will never 100% wrap her mind around the fact that they live in a videogame. Who knows. She's still young, after all.

Rui:

-He knew you were onto something.

-The usual comments of 'in a game like this' or 'how weird life was like this' gave him a clue that you knew more that you told. He wanted to know what it is, but he wanted to figure it out on his own.

-And when he did figure something out, which was that this world was not real, he confronted you about it to know if he was right or not. He was both concerned and happy he got it right.

-Maybe he didn't figure it all out at first, but he was more inclined to believe you when you explained the truth to him. And, while he appreciated the honesty of your answer, he was surprised how you figured it out.

-Now he has it in his mind that the two of you discuss about this fictional world you two live in, as he wants to know more about it.

it’s safe to say that you catch each of them off guard the first time you bite them. not that they don’t like it, no no, they very much enjoy it. each of them compare you to a vampire because of it.

no matter how long you’ve been with her, minori will always squeak in surprise when your teeth sink into her neck. she knows you’re not an actual vampire, but it still manages to shock her! she calms down after a few seconds, wrapping her arms around you until you pull yourself away from her.

something haruka will take to her grave is the fact that she enjoys your bites. very much. she’ll let you hold her and bite all over her neck but that won’t stop her from getting flustered if your bite marks are visible when she looks in the mirror. she’s sometimes asked why she wears a scarf during summertime…

airi has a small fang that sticks out when she opens her mouth, much like a vampires. when you bite her, she’ll try to one-up you by biting your neck when you separate from hers. it turns into a small competition between the two of you.

shizuku LOVES when you bite her neck. her main love language is physical touch, so she’s always holding onto you when you bite. she’ll grip your sides gently while giggling as your teeth sink down onto her skin, her grip growing stronger when you bite a sensitive area.

over all, they love you, and your tendency to bite <3.

a/n - i'm so sorry that this took so long T_T i wanted to get to this earlier because i think 'self aware characters' as a concept is very interesting !!! but my brain wouldnt let me write unfortunately... haruka might be ooc, despite how much i love them im very unfamiliar with mmj as characters & their stories </3 i'm also sorry for not doing tsukasa for this one, i wanted to include him and i originally did have an idea for his section, but i took so long to write this i forgot what it was ... i hope you enjoy anyway!

"Do you see anything you like?" You call over your shoulder, turning your attention away from the sweatshirts in front of you.

Airi stands by several dresses, scrutinising them. The two of you decided to go out shopping together, as you felt like your wardrobe was lacking. Airi was eager to help, confident in her sense of style that she can get you something nice, as well as something for herself.

Her brow creases in thought and she stops in front of one particular dress.

"C'mere for a sec," she calls back to you, and you walk over. Airi steps to the side, gesturing to the dress with a furrowed brow.

"Have I worn this before?" She asks. "I mean, I doubt you'd know, but still. It feels so familiar, but I also feel like I've never seen it before."

You squint at the dress. That's right... you recognise it, don't you?

"You wore that in the trained version of your Re-tie Friendship card, didn't you?" You comment quietly. "I liked that one, it was pretty."

Airi goes quiet for a few moments. You catch a befuddled look on her face out of the corner of your eye. "...Excuse me? What's a 'Re-tie Friendship card'...?"

You spin to face her, eyes wide. "Eh? It was your third focus event. Don't you remember it?"

Her confusion only grows. "What on earth are you saying? No, I don't remember it."

Your eyes lock for a brief period of time, the two of you studying each other for a single hint of what the other was talking about. Then, it hits you.

"Oh!" You gasp. "You didn't know about the whole game thing...? I thought everybody knew, but we weren't supposed to talk about it."

The fact of your entire life being a simple game was one you've always been aware of. You had never tried to bring it up to anyone else, or research it before. It had never occurred to you - it was as obvious a fact as saying "the sky is blue".

Airi shakes her head, placing a hand on her temples. "You're making no sense! What game thing?"

You open your mouth to respond, but you hesitate. Should you really elaborate on what you mean? Maybe it's for the best that you don't tell Airi about your shared existence within a game. It might be a bit much to take in all at once.

Maybe another time.

You smile brightly and shake your head. "Oh, you know what? I just realised, I was thinking of something else. Oopsies! Ignore me."

"...Right." Confusion and slight frustration still lingers on Airi's face, but she sighs and shakes her head. You're probably just referencing something from some game you like, right? Maybe she should look into it later, to understand what you just said to her.

Airi's gaze drifts back to the dress once more. That feeling of déjà vu still hovers in the recesses of her mind when she gazes at it, and it's unsettling. Maybe she should look for something different to wear.

"I had the strangest dream last night," Haruka comments, staring at the sandwich in her hands thoughtfully. The sun shines down on you both as you sit on a warm, grassy hill on a red-and-white checkered blanket.

You beam brightly, head tilted curiously. You swallow the bite of food in your mouth. "Oh? What happened?"

"I was dancing to a song I've never heard before. It was in a completely different style than we usually dance to as well, it was quite mellow and calm. I was dancing with a few other people too... Kohane, Ichika, and two other people I didn't recognise... a girl with grey-ish green hair, and a boy with ginger hair."

Haruka shakes her head. "How strange. And the weirdest part was, when I woke up, I remember thinking 'Ah, another one of those dreams'. I haven't dreamt of anything like that before."

She takes a thoughtful bite of her sandwich.

You can't help laughing a little at her bizarre dream. "I always have those dreams! The people who play this game like to make us dance with the other characters. It's quite fun, I like trying to think of what kind of person makes me dance to a certain song with certain people."

You tap your chin curiously. "Perhaps they like to think of me and the others in a romantic relationship? Perhaps they like to think of a different scenario where we are in a band together? Perhaps they feel romantically towards me? It's so interesting."

You chuckle to yourself once more, taking another bite of food. Goodness, it's so tasty. The work the two of you put together to create this whole picnic really paid off! You were especially looking forward to trying those cupcakes, you put a little extra love into each of them! In particular, you-

"Love, what game? What- What are you talking about?"

Haruka's voice snaps you out of your thoughts. Her gaze is full of confusion and concern for you. Her grip on her sandwich has gotten just a little tighter.

You simply gaze back at her as if it's all perfectly normal. "The game we're in. You didn't know?"

Silence hangs in the air. Haruka's gaze shifts around, landing on you for a moment or two before looking away.

Eventually, she clears her throat and nods, deciding to play along. "Right! Of course, I remember now. How could I have forgotten?"

Your joke had unsettled her a little, but she decides to just shake it off. That's all it was, anyway. You're just joking, aren't you?

to say that haruka adores you was an understatement.

you are her world. she appreciates even the smallest of gestures, including the fact that she can't show much affection in public. after all, she has an image to maintain.

even still, every time you lean in for a hug, you can feel her paranoid eyes scan the area before squeezing you gently. it pains you to see her like this, but what can you do? if paparazzi were to find out about haruka kiritani's love life, her career could be jeopardized.

despite her reluctance to show you off in public, she compensates for it when the two of you are alone.

when haruka sees you reclining on her bed, she slings an arm around you. you look up to see her eyebrows furrow.

"y/n," she starts. "are you... ever bothered by my behavior in public?"

when you hesitate, she automatically assumes the worst.

"i understand the need to conceal me for your career, haruka. i knew that well enough when we started to go out. though i can't lie and say it doesn't hurt to be rejected sometimes, i know you still love me."

haruka's face softens. a smile graces her features, and she turns to kiss your lips.

"i promise i'll be better to you," she says.

"so you'll hold my hand in public now?"

she’s never slow danced before, but finds that it’s actually quite easy! the nice, peaceful rhythm of the music in the background while she sways with you is very relaxing to her.

though, she finds herself becoming a bit�� distracted. the feeling of your hands placed gently on her waist, your face inches away from hers that sneaking a kiss would be oh so easy… she doesn’t even take notice that the song has ended, and you stopped dancing. her reaction to the sudden kiss she receives from you makes it all worth it, to both of you. <3

haruka enjoys all sorts of dancing, slow dancing being no exception! though, she’s so used to idol dance routines that she finds herself moving around faster unconsciously. this only makes you giggle and kiss her cheek before continuing once more <3.

“[name], let’s slow dance!” “huh-?” but before you can object, she’s already placing the CD into the record player and pulling you up from your seating position to dance. since she’s shorter, her arms are around your neck while yours are positioned on her waist. it’s nice.

you hear a soft exhale from your girlfriend as she sways gently with you, it’s different to see her dancing in such a calm manner. she usually shows you the dance routines she’s been learning with MORE MORE JUMP, so seeing her like this is completely new. though, this was a side of her that she really only showed to you, and you were grateful for that. unconsciously, you plant a kiss to her head which pulls her from her gentle state and sputters, and you giggle lightly. you wouldn’t want anyone else. <3

a gentle girl at heart, shizuku would definitely suggest slow dancing. there’s nothing she enjoys more than taking you in her arms and moving around freely, nothing but the sounds of soft melodies and steady breathing.

“[name].” “yes?” “would you like to slow dance with me?” you oblige, and she pulls you into her arms. since shizuku is tall, she has her hands on your waist while your arms are around her neck. she looks at you with such a gentle smile that makes your heart swell.

times like these with shizuku make you think about how lucky you are. such a pretty girl in your arms, but it’s not only because she’s pretty. you love shizuku because she’s, well, shizuku, and you wouldn’t want her any other way. as the song fades, she presses a soft kiss to your forehead while whispering; “i love you.”

She had been spending so much time working on her craft that she barely had time for herself. She missed spending time with her partner. As she walked through the park, she noticed someone sitting on a bench, strumming a guitar.

It was you, her partner. You were always friendly to people and supportive of everything Minori did. She remembered you mentioning that you wrote your own songs. Minori always looked up to you, despite you being an unpopular artist. She had always wanted to write her own music but never had the time or inspiration to do so.

As she got closer, you noticed her and greeted her with a smile. Minori couldn't help but blush a little.

"Hey, babe, how's it going?" you asked, grinning widely.
