ft. kang sae-byeok x f! reader — squid game
╰₊✧ finding out you’re also participating in the games & staying by your side throughout┊1.6k words
contains: mentions of canon-typical violence, open ending, season one spoilers, headcanons mainly, established relationship, sunshine (& kinda naive) x grumpy trope, sae-byeok being protective & the best gf, all of this is a little rambly like word vomit i hope you don’t mind
➤ author's note: squid game felt so empty without her like i adore all of the new women in season two but i missed her so much T-T
╰₊✧ even if she doesn’t show it through her expressions, she’s really upset to find you in this situation— not because she’s mad at you, but because she’s mad at herself. she wonders what kind of awful girlfriend she must be not to have noticed you were struggling through debt like she was. now that she thinks about it, she realizes how painfully obvious it was with your strange behavior when it came to working any freelance job you saw a sign of (you weren’t a pickpocket like her, you would never commit any crime intentionally), and being overall stingy when it came to spending money on yourself. she might unintentionally give you the silent treatment for the first few hours simply because she feels terrible about it all but still doesn’t want you to leave her side despite that.
“are you mad at me because i didn’t tell you?” you whined, sticking by her side like a baby duckling with its mama and gently holding on to her arm because she wasn’t looking at you. “sae-byeok… i just didn’t want you to worry about me when you already had so much on your plate…”
she merely blinked in response, stone-faced like usual, making it impossible to determine what was going through her mind. there was a sinking feeling in her chest, the feeling of failing one of the few people she cared about.
“it’s okay… i get it… i’ll give you some space— just come look for me when you wanna talk, i’m going to talk with some of the other people here…”
she suddenly grabbed you by the hand and dragged you back before you could move away, wrapping her arm around your waist in a protective manner, “no, i’m not mad at you, i promise. just stick with me, okay? i wouldn’t trust anyone here if i were you.” yes, the majority of people here seemed to be middle-aged people who were simply down on their luck. no, she didn’t believe there weren’t any bad ones who would easily take advantage of your kindness in such a large group of people.
you didn’t seem to quite understand what she meant in the last part, but you still cheerfully pulled her in for an embrace once she confirmed she wasn’t upset as you always did when a miscommunication was cleared up. (you didn’t see it, but she cracked a little smile when she hugged you back.)
╰₊✧ pushes you away the second she spots deok-su and quickly tells you to stay away while he confronts her about a past you didn’t know much about, making a scene in front of everyone and progressively getting more aggressive towards her. of course, once he makes his first swing, you immediately run in and start yelling at him to leave her alone when there were clearly more pressing issues at hand. when gi-hun interrupts because he wants to also confront her about something, you had to restrain yourself from pushing him away because you were a pacifist at heart and had been taught to respect your elders no matter what all your life.
╰₊✧ later when you two join the little alliance gi-hun formed, she makes them keep an eye on you if she has to part from you for any reason. she knows that bastard would make a beeline for you the second he sees you alone, and that bastard isn’t above playing dirty by hurting you or holding you hostage to get leverage on her. the guys find this to be so goddamn adorable and frequently tease sae-byeok for her obvious soft spot towards her girlfriend because they can tell she’s flustered despite how indifferent she may look. listening to you talk about her reminds them that she’s just another young woman who is trying to care for her loved ones and not the shady thief who works with gangsters they once thought she was. they also defend you guys from anyone being homophobic and swear that they will attend your wedding once they get out alive, noting they likely won’t have money for gifts after all the reward money goes toward paying off debt, but you tell them you would appreciate their presence anyway!
╰₊✧ after the first game when they vote all go home, she wants to make you swear on your life that you don’t ever go back to that dangerous place, but she knows how unrealistic that is. she now knows about the crippling debt you both have and it wouldn’t be long before the loan sharks will hunt you down to force you to do terrible things to pay it back. so on the last day of staying on the korean mainland, she coughs up the money to pay for a nice last date before the two of you willingly enter what you believe to be the closest thing earth has to hell.
╰₊✧ instead of the dangerous, loner vibe she has in the original, when she has you by her side, she has the aura of a mama bear— which is fitting considering you’re like a little cub. she’s very protective of you and gives everyone a look that says “hurt her and i’ll kill you” to shut down any possible schemes before they start and helps you out during all of the games because she doesn’t want to risk anything happening to you. it might feel a bit infantilizing to you, but she’s just so terrified at the concept of you getting injured or worse.
red light, green light - keeps you behind her at all times, verbally reminding you not to panic even though she can sense you freaking out. might even hold your hand and guide you through it all, telling you to close your eyes and ignore the sound of bullets as she pulls you through the finish line.
sugar honeycombs - tells ali to keep you company while she goes into the bathroom to sneak around the vents (he’s your best friend, by the way, the energy is immaculate) and immediately has you pick the triangle shape when lining up (there isn’t too much she needs to do because it’s one of the easier games for you to do).
special game (night of murder) - wants you to hide under the bunkbeds at first, a good idea until people started tipping them over. it’s difficult to find you with the lights flickering and with deok-su after her, so she has you met up with everyone else at gi-huns bed to protect each other. this battle is also likely the first time you cause bodily harm to someone else in self-defense, which will probably fuck you up especially if they are found dead later on. you’ll have some minor injuries, maybe a fractured rib or some cuts, but you’re still alive and that’s all that matters to sae-byeok.
tug of war - might look annoyed at your optimism to win with all the women and the old man on your team, but trust me, she really appreciates it since she wouldn’t know what to do with herself if you suddenly shut down and because you seem to keep their heads ups with your infectious smile. there’s not much she could do to help you out here as it’s a team effort, but she was half-tempted to bribe you into a team with all men just in case (and also because you looked like you were about to start a fight with sang-woo over him insisting that they needed more men and wanting to kick ji-yeong off the team) yet ultimately decided against it which turned out to be the best decision.
╰₊✧ the games strengthen your relationship through all of the blood and trauma, sticking together through it all and taking care of each other in the lowest moments. you two often share food and sometimes even sleep in the same bed if the other needs comfort, which would be very cute if your hands weren’t constantly trembling from fear and your skin didn’t have little specks of dried blood all over. sae-byeok is tough and has seen her share of violence, but it was all things she was trying to hide from you and keep you safe from ever since she entered this relationship with you. no matter how much you try to assure her that you can handle it, the sinking feeling of failure never leaves her.
“i’m… i’m really scared…” you sighed, cuddling yourself into her side. the barracks were so quiet you could hear a pin drop, yet there was the almost suffocating looming fear of death haunting the place knowing so many souls died within these walls. it always felt so cold even under the blankets with the powerful air-conditioning, but the warmth radiating off of sae-byeok’s body felt like a sanctuary.
“i know, i know,” she assured. there was a part of her that wanted to admit that she was scared too as she rubbed circles into your back to ease you to sleep, she didn’t dare to even think of her biggest fear in case it manifested into reality. she wouldn’t know what to do with herself in case it came true, so she chose to bury the thought of it deep down where she prayed it would never show itself again.
she dreams of winning these games with you, using the money to pay off all your debts, helping her mother escape north korea, to go towards her brother’s future, to helping the both of you start new lives where you both were accepted— all things she thinks of to push back all of the dark thoughts and help her sleep in your arms, forever by your side.
request was [ Please could you do something about saebyeok x gf!reader? where they both went to the games 😪😪]

You Knew the Demon Head?
For this AU, I suppose we’d have to pretend that Ra’s al Ghul isn’t hundreds of years old, but rather thousands. So pretend for that this specific post he is.
Billy got a call from Nightwing. The man said he’d meant to call for Batman but had instead fumbled and called him instead for help. Cap still came to see if they needed anything. See, it turned out that Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, and Robin were all patrolling when one of them found Lazarus Pit. So, now all four of them, now with the added Captain Marvel, were all standing around the Pit watching the green liquid.
Marvel: “Geez it’s been a long while since I’ve seen a Lazarus pit.”
Red Robin: “You know what these are?”
Marvel: “Yeah, I had a friend who used them to stay young.”
Robin!Damian: “The only people who use them for that purpose of the League of Assassins.”
Marvel: “Oh? You know about the League of Assassins, Robin five?”
Robin!Damian: “Robin five…?” *looks him up and down before shaking his head* “I was apart of them.”
Marvel: “Wait, really?”
Robin!Damian: “Yes?”
Marvel: “Wow… Y’know, I haven’t heard that name in so long, and think I get to meet a real life member again. You’re sort of young, but I do remember Ra’s mentioning taking in orphans.”
Robin!Damian: “You say that like you knew my grandfather.”
Marvel: “Ra’s is your grandpa?” *looks him up and down* “I don’t really see the resemblance.”
Robin!Damian: “I’ve been told I look more like my father.”
*silence*
Nightwing: “Uh, Cheese? How do you know about the League of Assassins? Let alone Ra’s al Ghul. I would’ve thought something like this was a little too… gritty for you.”
Marvel: “What’s that mean?”
Red Hood: “He means you’re like a ball of sunshine, and that people like you don’t really associate with stuff like assassins. You normally fight mad scientists or witches or whatever.”
Marvel: “Uh… Red Hood? Your name is Red Hood right?”
Red Hood: *nods head*
Marvel: “I fight against monsters, mind control, and Nazis on an almost daily basis. This isn’t really above me.” *looks back to Nightwing* “Anyways, you asked how I knew him, right?”
Nightwing: *nods head*
Marvel: “Well, you see, a long time ago we used to be best buds!” *all smiley*
*another silence*
Nightwing: “What…?”
Red Robin: “You were best buds with the head of a- sorry, the organization of assassins.”
Marvel: “Yeah! Me and Ra’s go away back. Like thousands upon thousands of years back. I was actually apart of the original LoA if you think about it.
Robin!Damian: “So you and grandfather were comrades?”
Marvel: “Guess so. But we stopped talking ever since I died.”
Red Hood: “Huh…?”
Marvel: “I die, I revive as a new person, and then I remember who I was before, if that makes sense. That’s happened multiple times.” *trying to be as vague about the Champion of Magic stuff as possible*
Red Robin: “So you reincarnate?”
Marvel: “Something like that. It’s not really reincarnation because it’s not my soul that gets reincarnated, it’s mostly just my memories. I become a completely different person.” *looks to Damian* “That’s probably why when your grandpa and I met again, he was a little upset that I wasn’t the me he knew before.”
Robin!Damian: “You’ve both met again?”
Marvel: “We’ve met multiple times over the years. He’s still a little salty whenever he sees me, but I think it’s gone down a little bit.”
*silence*
Nightwing: “I’m still confused though! How do you just become besties with the Demon’s Head?”
Marvel: “Well, he wasn’t always the Demon’s Head, Robin one. He used to be a healer.”
Robin!Damian: “Grandfather was a healer?”
Marvel: “Yeah, he understood germ theory before literally anyone else. You know that right? He was a brilliant man, really. Anyways, when I was just a normal kid before I got my memories, we became friends. Then, when I got my powers and memories back, me and the tribe helped him take over the city.”
Red Hood: “What city?”
Marvel: “You know, the city. The one that Ra’s and his tribe took over after a king sentenced him to killing his own wife, even though the prince of that city actually killed wife.” *said all of that in one breath*
Robin!Damian: “I have a grandmother?”
Marvel: “Yup! I have no idea who your parent is though because when she died, I don’t recall them having any children.”
Red Robin: “I love how you’re dropping all of this lore like it’s nothing.”
Marvel: “Fun fact, after taking over the city, that’s when he started calling himself the Demon’s Head I think.”
Marvel continued to drop multiple lore bombs about Ra’s after that. Meanwhile, Ra’s is minding his own business somewhere else.
Ra’s al Ghul: *pauses whatever he was doing* “Something just happened…”

Lovesick fools
Alternatively… enha’s reaction to being on a variety show with their idol!crush
No warnings, 2k words, implied fem!reader.. these took me forever </3
Heeseung
Fourth gen vocalists on the show ‼️
He was so excited to be there that he totally forgot you would def be there too
Until he was getting his makeup done and you walked in with curlers in your hair and coffees in your hand
He immediately found himself smiling at how cute you looked, and it only got worse when you handed him a cup
"Twitter said this was your order, I hope it's right."
The makeup artist starts laughing and opts out of putting blush on him bc he's all red from you
Once filming starts you all sing a prepared cover, and he's so focused on his own that he stays calm for most of it
Except yours is last, which means his mind is fully empty since he’s done and now all he’s able to focus on is how pretty you sound and the way you smile through the words
You sing 'drinks or coffee' from rose's new album and he swears you wink at him
"We don't have to talk, I know that you want me."
Twitter goes crazy bc you absolutely did wink at him, and they have the slow mo replay to prove it
Him blushing like mad also goes viral
He walks up to you backstage
"So... do you want to get drinks or coffee?" 🤭
Jay
It's shuhua's show again, but instead of sunghoon he's paired up with you
Bro gives himself a pep talk in the mirror before filming starts
"You are cool and calm and will not giggle like a school girl at her. Shes going to look pretty and you're just gonna have to deal with it."
Thinks it should be illegal to look good in a work uniform, but there you are
You guys are cooking and you're so impressed by how well he does at separating the fat from the meat
You are so horribly bad at it that Shuhua looks like an expert 💔💔
"Jay I think you need to help her, she's massacring the product."
Ok girl are you a host or a wingman
But he does, telling you to adjust your grip on the knife, reaching over to show you how to do it better which has you blushing like crazy
You guys are partnered up trying to give away samples against shuhua which is where you shine bc people just can't stay away from you especially when you pout and ask 'pretty please?'
Jay doesn't blame them, he's ready to buy everything in the store from you
One of the girls doesn't bat an eye at you when you beg but you're desperate so you yell after her
"Look how handsome my partner is, don't you want to come buy something from us?"
The girl comes back but Jay can't even be flattered bc he's too busy freaking out that you think he's cute
"Did you really mean that?" He asks you after filming
"Of course I did, I'm not blind."
So he asks for your number and ofc you give it to him
Jake
It’s some sort of school setting show
You guys are paired up against Jay and another member of your group as the four of you compete with trivia questions
You’re all English speakers, so they make you answer everything in English and since we’re already being delulu let’s say you have an English accent bc we know Jake loves that
You have to yell at him to lock in because when you start trying to reason out the question he’s so focused on your voice that he isn’t listening to a word you say
You guys are getting whooped by the other team
That is until your member makes a joke about you saying how your ideal type is a smart guy
Bro instantly locks tf in
“October 23rd, 2016”
“That is correct! Team Hot Accents gets another point as they make an impressive comeback!”
Yes that’s your team name, you both have hot accents and you know it 🤷♀️
You get so excited every time you guys score a point that you’re practically bouncing in your seat cheering and giving him high fives
You answer a few questions after that but he’s definitely carrying you guys and he could not be happier about it
“Don’t worry y/n, I got you. Just sit there and look pretty.” 😍
By the end you guys are tied and the hosts ask you to give your partner a good luck charm as he and Jay face off for the last question
You contemplate kissing his cheek before realizing that would probably get you murdered on twitter so you settle for giving his hand a squeeze after interlocking your fingers post high five
When he gets the question right he runs over and picks you up to spin you around in celebration
The editors definitely put some incriminating caption like [a very overexcited reaction from the golden retriever] that fans laugh at him for afterwards
But he doesn’t care bc you were in his arms and that’s all that matters ‼️
After filming you’re like “wow Jake you’re so smart do you want to hang out sometime?”
YEP YEP YEP YES HE DOES
Sunghoon
You guys were both ex figure skaters, so they had you guys film an episode at a rink
They got both of you a new version of one of your old costumes, and sunghoon was immediately red at the sight of you in the sparkling dress with a little cut out on the side
You both spent the first few minutes just running around on the ice, enjoying being back
The hosts had a list of skills they read out and then made each of you try
It only made sunghoon's crush bigger watching you move so gracefully, and he grinned so big whenever you'd compliment him
"Woah, he's still really good!"
Towards the end they had you try partner moves, everyone cheering when you guys synced up so well in the turns and twists
“Woah they look really good together! It’s like fate they move at the exact same time!”
They even let you try a stunt, and sunghoon became a stuttering mess when he put his hand on your waist where the cut out in your costume was
"Is- is this ok? I don't want to drop you, but we could skip it if you want."
"Of course it's ok!"
He's so touched at the amount of trust you put in him while trying out partner tricks
And it's rightfully placed considering the time you guys mess up he makes sure to change the angle of your fall so that he takes the brunt of the impact instead of of you
You apologize so many times, including going up to him after filming to thank him again
"Is there anything I can do to thank you?"
"How about a date?"
Sunoo
Who knows why the show paired you guys up
Maybe they saw the media attention from your brief waves to each other at an award show and the viral ‘bite me’ challenge you did together
But they bring both of you to a cafe set and you have to make coffees and such before being interviewed
You’d worked at a coffee shop predebut so at one point you reach over and grab his hand to adjust the way he holds the cup under the milk steamer
The editors zoom in on his red face while you turn around and practically sprint away
Your last task before the interview is to make a drink for the other person while they film a confessional about you
You’re sitting there stuttering over your words as an explanation as to why you ran after helping him earlier and how kind he was when you filmed your tiktok together last time
Meanwhile, sunoo is asking the staff for help to make your super specific and stupidly difficult drink order that he knows from watching your interviews
He pretends it was casual and easy once he joins you at the table, setting the cup down in front of you like he didn’t restart it 3 times
“This is my favorite coffee!! I didn’t even remember them teaching us this!”
“Wow that’s so weird, lucky me I guess”
He tried to be nonchalant but it was NOT working
He literally lets out a giggle as soon as you drink it and do a little happy dance when it’s exactly how you like
When the interviewer asks about your relationship (bringing up the award show wave) Sunoo says that you guys are casual friends but he hopes you can become closer after filming together
To which you respond ABSOLUTELY and promise to wave at him at every schedule you see him
That’s enough for his weak heart for one day so he doesn’t end up following up after the cameras stopped
but you kept your promise and after a few months of excited waves and animated conversations at award shows he secures your number and a date
Jungwon
He’s too responsible to risk anything by talking about his crush on you but once in a live you said you really admired him because you couldn’t imagine having to lead your group while being one of the youngest members
(He saved the video and probably replayed it about fifty times afterwards)
But that was enough to make one of the shows want you guys together !!
Which is how you end up trailing behind him through a creepy dark building while scare actors try to freak you guys out
Bro was not excited for this but he is doing his best bc YOU NEED HIM ‼️
You are so close to his back that he can feel your body heat and when someone jumps out you practically climb on his back
You apologize profusely afterwards, but he waves it off, offering you his arm to grasp onto for the rest of the time
You say in a confessional part that you were scared out of your mind but it was bearable bc Jungwon was there
“He was so brave and cool, it made me feel so much better!”
He isn’t even scared anymore, he’s just mad bc they’re intentionally making you upset so his cute angry face pops out and the two of you make it through the whole haunted house in record time
Afterwards he tells you that he hopes he wasn’t mean or anything, he was just upset they were scaring you
He was mad at them for doing their jobs 💔 rip
But that just made you appreciate him more
“Can I treat you to lunch one day? To thank you for taking such good care of me?”
He MELTS, of course you can
Riki
You and him were both on a variety show to show the difference between maknaes
He was the image of a cool and mature maknae, while you were the giggly pink maknae of your group
He thought it was gonna be awkward bc the whole point of the show was how different you guys were, but you got along so easily
As soon as you started talking he was a GONER
He'd watch you answer a question and get so distracted looking at your face that the hosts would have to repeat the question for him to respond to after 😭
So much for being cool
They ask him how he feels about aegyo to which he describes how passionately he hates it
So they make you do aegyo for him to see if he reacts
HE DOES
Homeboy starts blushing without even realizing it
It puts the biggest smile on his face that they tease him about for the rest of the show
You tell him you'll give him lessons in it if he wants while live and that's how he approaches you after
"You probably need my number to set up those lessons right?"

Dad, What The Hell Happened To You?
"Dad, what the hell happened to you?" my dad is shirtless, his protruding hairy belly in sight. Just last week, my dad, the daddest dad I know, started posting weird shirtless pics online. I wouldn't have worried if he was just posting workout physiques, but there was something else different about it. He's a quiet person, and he doesn't often go shirtless, but this newfound appreciation for his body took me off guard.
"Nothing happened," my dad said, rubbing his belly. He looked at me calmly, with the same serious look on his face. "Aren't you proud of your dad getting in shape?" He flexed his arms, showing his hairy armpit. I cringed internally. He massages his biceps, the hairs on his chest, and almost smugly displayed them to me.
"I don't care about that," I said, trying to avoid looking at his body. "But dad… my friend sent me a screenshot of you…" Just getting the words out feel wrong. My dad, who was married for years with my mom, was now this person I barely recognized. "It was you… it was a Grindr profile…"
He just looked at me, silent for a moment. "So?"
I stared at him in disbelief. "You're not gay! You were married to mom! I've even heard your political views on gay people—and that told me all I need to know!"
He flexed his arms, and I cringed at how performative it looked. "I've always been gay, son. Now that your mother's gone, I can finally let men worship this bicep." With that, he kissed his arms and looked at me with a hint of a smirk.
I felt sick to my stomach. I would never have guessed that my father was gay. "Look. I don't care that you're gay. Everyone's asking me questions about you. Your Instagram profile is just countless shirtless pictures of you just from this week!"
He took a step forward, and I could smell the faint aroma of his body. "Well, son. I think it's time, don't you think?"
He looked at me calmly, and I could feel something darker within his eyes.
I forced the words out. "Time for what?"
I saw him smirk, a sinister smirk that made my eyes go wide. He whispered, "Go."
My mouth is forced open as panic rises from my chest. A sudden warmth invades my throat as I feel it slither further down into me. My legs grow limp as this warmth slithers further down to the deepest corners of my body. The warmth seemed to disappear, leaving a strange sensation as though something was just in me.
I cough. Hard. Dad's just looking at me with the same serious expression. "What the hell happened?"
"Now I can do this." He stepped forward and cupped my crotch. I let out a gasp as I move to get away. My legs stand still. He leans in, and I feel his hot breath under my neck. "You have no idea how long we've been waiting for this."
He starts rubbing my crotch, his strong hands cupping at the balls and at my — and I realize in horror—hardening cock.
"What… the… fuck… is… happening?" I choke out, my breathing getting heavier as my father stares at me with his deep, soulful black eyes. I feel his other hand pulling me closer.
"He struggled, too, you know," my dad said, his voice strangely harmonic. "But he likes it now."
I feel my hand move on its own accord, and I put my left hand on his chest, the right behind his back. "I'm not fucking gay!"
"Yeah?" he grinned like a predator catching its prey—a view I thought I'd never see, "Well, he wasn't at first."
I feel my arms moving on its own, taking off my shirt and shucking off my pants. "What the fuck!"
My dad leans in and starts kissing my chest. My dad, who once told me not to play with a 'girls' toy', was now knee-deep in my armpits, sniffing so hard he looked as though he would faint. Oh god. My cock has never been this hard. Holy fuck, what the hell is happening?
I lean away for a moment, and I stare at my dad's eyes. For a moment, I see him, my real dad, somewhere in those eyes, then I feel a force like a cannonball forcing us to kiss like mad men. I groan, cringing inside as I felt my dad's tongue in my mouth. I've fully leaned into his body, rubbing his arms and feeling his hairy back. He smelled faintly of sweat, but my cock only grew harder from his musk.
"This isn't you," I gasped within kisses. I feel my body lean in until I'm sucking on his nipples, groaning at his hairy body. An undeniable urge to devour his body was in me. All my body wants to do is to worship this man. My dad, who raised me. This hot, sexy, piece of meat. Fuck!
"Oh, it's me, son," he said with a gruffness that only spurred me on. He forced me closer, and the strength of his arms makes my knees weak. "You already feel it, don't you? You're not sure if it's just something making you do this or it was something you've wanted all along."
I lean in and sniff his armpits, clawing at his hairy belly and kissing him, the odd sensation of kissing someone with a beard enough to send shivers down my spine. I… I understood it now. My dad is fucking hot and he should display his body as much as he wants! Wait! That's not me!
"Don't fight it, son," he whispered, licking my ears. "Come sit on your dad's cock, son. I know you want to." Yes, I did want to. My hands travelled to his cock, and my eyes open wide as I discover it's as thick as a beer can.
"Jesus, dad," I say, unsure if I'm impressed, embarrassed, or horny. I want to suck his cock. I look at the large fucking thing. The veins, just the thickness of it all. All I want to do is just slather his cock with my saliva. I want that thick dick deep in my—wait.
"This isn't me," I whispered to him. My body moves down his cock until I could smell it. All the warmth and musk seemed to lead right into his dick. He grabbed me by my hair. "Come on, son."
My dad looked at me with a proud smile. It was the type of smile he only gave me once in a decade. He looked so gentle and… fuck. He was so fucking hot. I lean in and take his cock in. I gag, unused to the invasion to my throat. I start sucking in, my hands moving to his balls and to his legs. I… love his cock. I love the feeling of it down my throat. I should have more cocks down my throat. I love it. All of a sudden, it felt… easier. I slowed down and savored his taste. He groaned, his familiar voice sounding so… hot, so bothered. His cock was so hard but I fucked my throat in it. I felt his hands on my head.
"You're fucking good at this, son," he said gruffly. I felt my cock get even harder at the praise. I love it. I want my dad to fuck me all the time. I want him all the time. I want his dick in me. I don't. I do. Wait, fuck, I don't! Yes, I do.
I feel a sudden surge of energy in my dad's cock. I feel it pulse, and my body leans further in, and this time I gag even more. Fuck! I need to stop this! I will myself to lean away but my body won't respond.
"Don't fight, son," he said, caressing my hair. "Make your dad proud."
He suddenly thrust forward, his cock further impaling my throat. "That's it, son," he cooed. He thrust again, grabbing my head and keeping it in place. I don't want to fight this. I want to let this happen. My dad let out a loud groan as a torrent of cum splashes out into my throat. I gag but my body keeps still, hot thick cum shooting straight in my throat. I love the taste of it. Just the thought that it's from my dad is enough. I want it all. I feel his cum leak out from my mouth, but my tongue laps as much as it can, hungrily.
We collapse down to the ground. My dad's sweating profusely, and he looks so hot with his hairy body all oiled up. Shit. This really fucking happened. I just sucked my dad's cock. He looked at me with the same calm expression, but his eyes seem gentler. I heave in and out. I can still taste my dad on my mouth.
We don't say anything for a few minutes. I'm leaning on his arm, his warmth feeling so inviting. I look him straight in the eye. "Now who the fuck is in my body?"

LADS Headcanons Pt 2!!!
—————————————————————
Wooooo! Part two baby! I’m so happy you guys loved my last headcannon post!!! I hope you like this one as well!!!
Xavier:
. Says wholesome stuff in the most fucked up way possible.
. “I just wanna carve out a hole next to your heart and squeeze in it.”
. “I wanna live in your lungs so I can be the air that you breathe.”
. “The stars look gorgeous in your eyes, I wanna pluck them out and frame them.”
. Says this shit with the most innocent face.
. You made a smiley face on his pancakes once and he refuses to eat them without a smiley face on them.
. Absolutely thinks your mad at him when you don’t put a smiley face on his pancakes.
. Make it a frowny face and he knows he fucked up.
. I read somewhere that he mostly sleeps on his stomach and he most definitely sleeps with his butt semi in the air.
. Mostly it’s from a stray pillow that somehow managed to get under his hips.
Zayne:
. Obsessed with your heart in a wholesome way.
. He’s scared of not finding the cure for you so he constantly tries to feel your heartbeat.
. Hand pressed against your chest, your back, pulse points on your wrist and neck he just wants to make sure it’s beating.
. Let him sleep with his head on your chest so he can hear your heartbeat and he’ll truly relax.
“Just need to make sure you’re ok.”
. Has chilled sodas with his hands for Xavier.
. Bought those hand warm up bag things once.
. Now a cabinet fully stacked with them.
. Has a ton of onesies hidden somewhere in his closet.
. I think he adores jams, specifically strawberry and peach jams.
Rafayel:
. Much like how I think Zayne’s hand will be naturally cold, Rafayel’s hand would be naturally warm cause y’know, fire.
. Very sensitive when it comes to the cold, always has his studio at like 72 degrees.
. Hates winter just cause of the cold.
. I like to think his legs would be strong as hell.
. “Hey MC! Wanna see me crush a watermelon between my thighs?”
. Solid abs and strong core too cause of how mermaids swim.
. Legs are definitely more sensitive cause he’s used to having a tail and now the sensations are doubled.
. Does that fire trick thing you see where it looks like he breathes fire.
. Has almost burned his hair while doing said trick.
. I personally think that this mermaid boy can’t handle eating oysters.
Sylus:
. Can’t ice skate for shit, always falls on his ass.
. Holds a lot of respect for Zayne since the man is your doctor.
. I think he does little annoying things but isn’t aware of it cause nobody has ever told him.
. Let’s be honest no one wants to go up to this crime overlord and be like “Hey, your finger tapping is annoying can you please stop?”
. Has a very secret soft spot for Rafayel. Will never admit it, in fact he’ll happily chip off his arm to deny it.
. I like to think that Sylus enjoys spoiling those he’s close with and Rafayel most definitely likes being spoiled.
. It works perfectly.
. Walks around in nothing but a towel to grab your attention.
. Such an attention whore.
. Will cough up blood in the middle of a fight and worry that he isn’t at the right angle to make himself look attractive for you.
Bonus: Luke and Kieran!!!:
. Ok so a very personal headcanon about these two bird babies is that they’re actually brown skinned with gray fluffy hair and red eyes. Maybe it’s cause I’m black and I want to see more people of color in the game which I know is very unlikely, but it’s how I like imagining them.
. I like to think that they’re Aro/Ace cause it’s said they can feel whatever the other is feeling and even see out of each others eyes but we’re not given the limit of that ability but we know they can’t just switch it off.
. It’ll be weird that when your twin kisses his partner and you feel it as well. And very very awkward if it goes farther than that.
. They love pulling pranks on MC, much to MC’s dismay.
. They get overstimulated easily, constantly feeling, hearing, and seeing what your twin sees is a lot.
. Sylus bought them noise canceling headphones and weighted blankets to help them through these rough patches.
. Absolutely love cheese burgers. Luke’s likes his without pickles and Kieran likes pickles on his.
. Secretly feed Mephisto tiny bits of human food like fries and popcorn.
. Can’t sleep in separate rooms from one another.
. They were experimented on so it makes since they will feel most safe when they’re able to see the other and know that they’re close.

read me like a book 💌prof. spencer reid x reader
💋 office hours with your fav professor. oneshot smut with softdom spencer and praise 💋
you’re prone to skipping an occasional lecture - 9am is just too early to be up! you’re a week ahead on your developmental psych notes! but you’ve never missed a class with dr. spencer reid.
as much as you enjoy the course content (and actually do the required readings) your mind goes blank once professor reid enters the lecture hall and his words fade into the background as you admire his curly hair and soft eyes. you’re almost mad he’s so hot because your lack of focus just landed you a C+ on your recent essay. you’re embarrassed not at your own academic efforts but rather the effect he has on them.
as usual, you doll yourself up before heading to class and take a seat right in the middle where dr. reid tends to lay his eyes while lecturing.
after the heard of girls auditing the class finish talking to professor reid, you approach the front of the class to ask about your essay.
you’ve always loved talking to him after class, getting a few minutes of one-on-one time with him. he’s different when not lecturing, and has an endearing awkwardness that you’ve become infatuated with. you loved when a simple question turned into what felt like a personal lesson.
“hi dr. reid, i’m wondering if i could discuss my recent essay with you?”
“definitely, however i think the next class is starting in a few minutes. would you be okay to discuss it in my office?” he tells you and you feel yourself get hot. you’ve talked to him plenty of times but never in his office, your mind immediately fantasizing about all the things you’ve imagined him doing to you in there.
you try and remain composed on the walk there, making small talk to not let any signs of your schoolgirl crush on him show.
he opens the door for you, closing it before walking over to his desk. you hand him the essay and feel your heart flutter when your fingers grace each others briefly. you try your best to follow the feedback he’s adding in red pen but you’re transfixed on the way he’s moving his hands.
you snap out of it when he softly says your name, “i hope you’re not discouraged by the grade. you’re a smart girl.” you hope he doesn’t notice how hard you’re blushing at him calling you smart.
“i know you understand the concepts but your analysis needs to remain objective. i would have given you a B if you stayed closer to the assignment outline.”
the feedback is fair but you’re worried about your gpa. “is there anyway to do some extra credit or raise my grade?”
dr. reid tells you “come see me back here before the next assignment is due and we’ll go through it together.”
you’re grateful but dreading the end of this conversation and having to leave his office.
“thanks professor reid! i really enjoy these post-lecture conversations.” you know your words are implying something more, but you’re wondering if it shows.
dr. reid replies “me too.”
you guys make eye contact until he looks to the left and takes a deep breath. “by the way, most student-teacher relationships end horribly. not to mention they’re pretty explicitly banned in the contract i signed to guest lecture here.”
“oh my god oh um i’m sorry i didn’t mean to say anything that would make you uncomfortable.”
“don’t worry, you didn’t say anything. i think you just forgot that i make a career out of profiling people.” dr. reid tells you with a slight smile on his face
“so what gave it away then?”
“you’ve been blushing for the last 15 minutes and stumbling over your words despite being a normally eloquent student in class. you’re leaned into me talking right now and i’ve caught you staring at me multiple times.” he says while smiling. you’re relieved he’s not mad, but can’t quite identify his intentions of telling you this.
“well professor reid, you’re good at your job. but like you said i’m a smart girl, so it’s only fair i get to profile you back.”
you can tell you caught his attention with that, feeling him getting a bit nervous but leaning in to hear what you have to say. your legs are now touching as you list the little traits of his you’ve noticed all semester.
“you have a whole fan club of girls who come to your lectures and wait to talk to you. do you give all of them the student-teacher relationship talk? or am i just getting special treatment?”
he puts his hand on your thigh. “do you wear skirts this short when you talk to your other professors.” you’re shocked at how far he’s going but you don’t want him to stop.
“you’re easy to read, princess. i know when you’re sitting in my lectures and thinking about me. you subtly bite your lip and stare, and i can only imagine what you’re fantasizing about. i’d guess you get off on me being your older professor, me fucking you bent over my desk as i tell you how how you’re such a pretty little slut for me.”
is he a profiler or a mind reader? you don’t want to let him win but he looks at you self-satisfied and starts talking before you can think of a reply.
“and i’d place my job on the line that you’re wet just hearing that.”
“well professor reid, i’ll leave it to you to prove your theory.”
reid pushes up your skirt and feels your soaked panties. you watch him smile before pulling you into his lap and kissing you.
the makeout deepens as he grabs your waist, slowly guiding it to grind against him as his tongue is in your mouth. you hold him by the hair until he leans back to look at you. through heavy breaths he says “i’ve been thinking of you since i saw you in my first lecture.”
he takes your shirt and bra off, moving kissing your lips, down to your neck, and then down to your chest. you take off his cardigan and begin working on his button up shirt, leaving you both shirtless against eachother. “you’re so beautiful like this.” he tells you.
you feel him adjust your legs to take off your skirt and panties. slowly teasing his fingers at your entrance, he quickly dips a finger in just to tell you “you’re so wet, so desperate for me pretty girl.” as you try and rub against his hand for contact. he’s right, you need him badly right now.
dr. reid rubs circles on your clit and you let out a soft moan. he watches your face as he slips his fingers inside. “fuck you’re good, dr. reid.” you can tell being called by the honorific turns him on by the way he gripped you tighter and sighed. he takes his fingers out from inside you and pushes them into your mouth. you give him a show, looking him right in the eyes as you work your tongue around them. “you’re such a slut for me, baby.” you’re shocked that this sort of dirty talk is coming from your nerdy, cardigan wearing professor.
he pulls his fingers out and you unbuckle his belt. you palm him which earns a slight moan out of reid. “seems like you want me just as bad” you tell him. you pull down his boxers and he grabs your hair into a ponytail. with his other hand he lifts your chin slightly to ask, “well how bad do you want me?” you immediately begin going down on him, eager to impress.
you’re blissed out listening to the praises coming from him between the heavy breaths. “so pretty baby”, “taking me so well”
he lifts your head up, “wanna bend over the desk, sweetheart?” you gladly agree, anticipating him as he grips your hips and plants a kiss on your neck.
he’s big but you’re savouring every inch of professor reid inside of you. thrusting slowly as you adjust to the feeling. he speeds up as he talks you through it, “such a cute little slut sitting in my lectures imagining me fucking you like this. you feel so fucking good baby.” you begin to unravel with pleasure.
you can barely form a sentence but manage to ask “have a thing for fucking college girls, professor reid?” you say between moans.
he thrusts into you harder and positions his mouth right beside your ear, “just the ones who come into my office in short skirts to seduce me.”
you guys won’t last much longer, he feels your core tightening around him. “i want to watch you cum for me.” he tells you.
you unravel in his arms, with him finishing soon after. he holds you in his arms as you catch your breath. “maybe your profile was right about me, dr. reid” you say to him lightheartedly.
“you can call me spencer. although there is a definite appeal to being called dr. in this context” he says.
you help rearrange the papers on his desk that were pushed off earlier and get dressed again.
“um don’t worry about your essay grade. if you ever want to do this again perhaps i can count it as extra credit.” he smiles and tells you.
“i’d love that. i’ll be here after every lecture.” you say with a massive smile on your face.
he kisses you once more, “now go study. i’ll see you next week.”

# DARLING, I — chapter thirty-one!
when new york city’s widely-known spider-woman's life becomes unknowingly entwined with a member of the rising global girl group katseye, she learns that juggling superhero duties, university, and a sudden crush may or may not just be the downfall of her. but hey, at least she's helping people, right?
ONE HELL OF A DATE
“wake up, sleepyhead.”
startled at the water yunjin splashed over her face and soaking her shirt, y/n sat up on the bed all bleary-eyed, all while the other crossed her room and cranked open her blinds harshly, earning a displeased hiss from y/n.
“yunjin, what the absolute fuck do you think you’re doing?” y/n grumbles out, voice raspy from the lack of use from the following hours of being in a deep slumber, running a hand over her hair and down her face, an exasperated sigh leaving her lips.
“getting you ready for your date with ms. bannerman, of course.” like clockwork, y/n’s body winds up like a toy as she attempts to get out of bed, sheets bunched around her ankles and restricting her movement as she stands up, crashing down onto the floor with a loud groan and a thud.
yunjin clicked her tongue at the sight. “see, that’s what i’m talking about. you’re a mess. you can't go on a date with manon like this."
sitting up on the floor with her sheets strewn across the floorboards, y/n sighs deeply. “help me.”
“dani, is this one better?”
manon picks out another article of clothing from her closet with a grimace, holding it up for the other to see, watching as daniela shook her head from the bed. “too revealing.”
the ghanaian nodded in response, sighing as she continued to sift through her closet, brows furrowed in focus as she struggled to find the perfect outfit for her date. “at this point, i might just ransack someone else’s closet.”
daniela chuckles at manon’s words, enjoying the sight of the other woman almost go mad from her indecisiveness, lips pressing together in an amused smile. “manon, you literally can’t go wrong with your outfits. really, i think you’re overthinking this. i’m sure y/n would love whatever you have on, as long as you’re there.”
manon turned around with raised brows, looking at the cuban woman in contemplation. “okay, so you’re saying i could wear a garbage bag to the date and y/n would love it? just say you hate me.”
"you know that's not what i meant." a defeated sigh left daniela’s lips at the older’s words, the door of their bedroom creaking open as lara and yoonchae trickled in, obviously checking up to see how manon was faring.
“oh, girl…”
waiting outside the designated restaurant, y/n stood there awkwardly and fiddled with the sleeves of her dress shirt, suddenly feeling waves of nervousness and insecurity over what she was wearing, a stark difference to the usual baggy clothes she’d wear. the formality of the situation presses down on her chest and restricts her breathing, a shaky hand coming up to undo the third button while the other hand clutches onto the neatly-made bouquet.
“y/n?”
a honeyed tone was a welcomed distraction from the current circumstances, neck whipping to meet eyes with manon who wore a black, backless dress that was topped off by a fur jacket, breath hitching as words and thoughts jumbled against one another, tongue-tied at the beauty who smiled sweetly in front of her.
looking like a deer caught in headlights, y/n brings her in for a quick hug, albeit awkward and sudden, it pulled a laugh from the ghanaian’s throat who eagerly returned the hug, catching a whiff of the taller’s perfume who shot her a meek smile. “uh, for you.”
just like the first time they’d met, y/n hands her a beautifully wrapped bouquet of sunflowers, running her clammy hands down her pants and offering an arm out for her. “shall we go in, my lady?” y/n murmured in an exaggerated british accent, pulling another one of those beautiful giggles from manon’s lips.
“indeed we shall, my dearest one."
“it’s actually so impressive how you took the first-ever spider-woman photo.” manon’s words cause a chuckle to tumble past y/n’s lips, glancing down at the woman who had her arm hooked around hers as the two of them strolled around nyc, deciding to take a breath of fresh air before calling it a night.
“really?”
“really!”
“i’m surprised you even knew about that. most people don’t really pay attention to details like that.” y/n murmured, watching as a group of tipsy tourists stumbled down the street in a struggle, before continuing with her words. “not like i’m known for it, too.”
“mm, well…” the ghanaian struggled to form a sentence that didn’t necessarily expose her love for the mentioned webslinger in a spandex, lips pressing into a thin line. “i read about it somewhere.”
y/n hummed, feeling the shorter woman’s grip on her arm tighten, following her line of sight where a wasted new yorker was stumbling around, a bottle of beer in his hand as he crashed onto a nearby car, setting off the alarm with the impact, sending him bumping into a trash can. any other day, the scene would’ve been a usual occurrence in nyc, but when he locks eyes with manon’s figure beside you, your spidey senses tingle just a bit.
“hey, maybe we should cross the street.” more than eager to comply, manon’s already tugging y/n across the street, the drunk following suit. “is he seriously following us?”
manon nodded silently, not daring to look back as she pulled y/n closer, the latter turning her head to assess the man who was now following her. “just stay close, alright?”
before manon could respond, the man’s voice rang out in the street. “hey, ladies!” his voice, all hoarse and slurred from the alcohol made the two women’s skin prickle from goosebumps as they continued to ignore and walk down the street. “hey, i’m talking to you.”
eventually annoyed at the lack of attention given his way, he furiously threw his bottle of beer towards the pair, y/n’s spidey senses ringing alarm bells as she pulled manon close to her chest and moved them out of the way in record time, bottle disintegrating into pieces and spreading out on the concrete floor with a deafening crash in the silence of the night.
eyes wide and panicked, manon clutched onto y/n's shirt tightly, fabric crumping beneath her hold as sunflowers squished between their bodies, y/n turning to face the man. shielding manon from his sight, y/n licks her lips. “get lost, asshole.” the commentary easily slipped under the man’s skin, parting his lips to respond when y/n hoisted manon over her shoulder and sprinted down the street, eliciting a squeal from the latter and leaving a dumbfounded drunk.
and as she ran down the streets, the only thought present in her mind as she carried manon was, ‘this’ll be one hell of a story to tell our children one day'.

Hmmm...I feel like I asked you this before, but why do you think Crowley doesn't like the 14th century??
I don't think you have actually, Rouge. Aww, the grumpy Crowley picture, my heart! I had missed him so. 😁 I can answer that, yeah, especially if you help me consume the holiday treats I'm lucky enough to have from some lovelies?
Why does Crowley hate the 14th century?
The short answer is also the only answer here and that's really just that the 14th century was, by all accounts, godawful. Especially if you lived in Europe, as Crowley and Aziraphale did then.
Yes, there is always hope and lovely people and somebody making art somewhere no matter what else is happening but heed this warning now: when we all start time-traveling, there will be these dirt cheap options to go to the 14th century and you should remember this post and definitely not do that. 😂
Here are some reasons why (and nowhere near all, as Tumblr only has so much space...):
Early in the century, The Great Famine of 1315-1317 hits Europe. Several years in a row of terrible weather ruins crops and, compounding the problem, a terrible disease rips through the cattle and sheep population at the same time as the crops fail, decimating the cattle and sheep population by an estimated 80%. Millions starve to death and millions more go half-mad from the lack of food, causing crime to also increase. The foundations of society start to shake as so many are sickly or dead that the ability to keep everything going begins to come close to collapsing. This is just the warm-up for the century...
This is already an era that is very hard to live in. We couldn't hack it then with our modern comforts and expectations. There's no indoor plumbing or heating or electricity. Medical and scientific knowledge was more limited so there were no vaccines and no understanding of germ theory. Diseases that we have eradicated today entirely or can treat and make no longer life-threatening would rip through populations in waves on the regular. Life expectancy was much shorter because of the inability to inoculate against viruses-- and, really, from a lack of understanding of germs and disease in the first place. No one understands enough about disease to even think about societal efforts to stop the spread because they don't yet know what a virus is.
These are the conditions when The Black Death-- bubonic plague-- shows up in 1346. It kills tens of millions. By the end of the 14th century, as a result of Black Death and wars, Europe's population has halved compared to what it was at the start of the century. Life expectancy was never great but now, with bubonic plague atop all of the other diseases already in existence, it becomes wild for someone to live past the age of 30. The average lifespan drops to 26 and families are having so many children because the diseases we've eradicated today through vaccines still exist and kill them in huge numbers, with 20-30% of all kids dying before they reach the age of 5.
In the midst of this? The average person was illiterate. Gutenberg's printing press wouldn't be invented until the 15th century and the ability to mass-produce written works with it is what helped it become the norm in Western societies for the average person to know how to read. Aziraphale and Crowley, in the 14th century, would have been able to get access to written works mostly by associating with priests and high-ranking members of royal courts, as these men were the main people who were able to read and write and were responsible for keeping records and transcribing materials.
There were still playwrights and artists and scientists and everything but the 14th century is also an age of rampant anti-intellectualism and all the insanity that comes with people being against knowledge and science and art. While there are always people making art and learning new things in every era, there's kind of a reason why when you think about great advancements in humanity, the 14th century is not really the time period of which you think. Technically, the Italian Renaissance began during the 14th century but basically every major work in it was made well after it and it's more like the foundations for it were put into place during this era-- probably by Crowley and Aziraphale having had enough lol.
It's an era of persecuting scientists, condemning art, being suspicious of people with knowledge in basically any field... there's a lot of calling people trying to do anything other than pray, starve or die sorcerers and witches and demonic and all that nonsense. There's hate everywhere, especially rampant antisemitism, with pogroms in the later part of the century where countless Jews were rounded up and murdered in the streets.
Atop all of this, Italy suffers an enormous earthquake that is also felt across parts of Europe that, when coupled with all the death and suffering, does what things like that have always done throughout history... increase the number of people who now think the End Times are upon them and usher in all sorts of extra doomsday-prep weirdness.
This is all egged on by the fact that societies across Europe are basically on the verge of collapse as a result of The Black Death killing so many people and everyone is grieving and afraid and on edge. It's also helpful to know that, in between all this famine and death? There's also wars on all over the planet. Basically every established country on Earth is at war with another one for the majority of the 14th century (to be fair, this is true of most of history) and the one happening in Crowley and Aziraphale's backyard of England was no picnic.
The Hundred Years War started in 1337. Historians consider its end date, uh... 1453. It was a war between England and France, who also had a whole civil war in there in the middle of it. There were some attempts at truces and some 'sorry, too many people are dying from the plague for us to keep trying to kill one another right now-- revisit this next year?' periods but the conflict continued for over a century. It was largely triggered by... what else?... the English king at the time-- Edward III-- trying to say that he should also be king of France. Surprisingly lol, no one in France was really into that idea... England and France both also see these massive revolts of working class people in response to the high taxes of the war, the limited resources, the plague, etc..
This is just a handful of the likely top reasons why the 14th century was not Crowley's favorite. I don't think Aziraphale was very fond of it, either. They're two curious, literate, food-loving, peaceful, warm-hearted people, and they would have spent that century drowning in the worst of the human experience.
I'm sure they think about all that misery sometimes when they're warm and comfortable without miracles and enjoying seeing greatly reduced child mortality and many people living past a century. They probably often think about it when they're eating food sourced from around the world that exists in plenty, especially in places like The Ritz, that would have been unimaginable for most during the 14th century.

Katie McCabe x Reader:
Title: New Flame
- It’s a gray Thursday afternoon, and the café is unusually quiet. Your favorite table by the window is free, so you settle in, grateful for the peaceful atmosphere. A steaming cup of tea sits beside your open notebook as you jot down thoughts about the book you’re reading, the bustle of the world outside fading into the background.
You’ve always loved this place—the way the soft hum of conversation blends with the hiss of the espresso machine, the faint scent of cinnamon that lingers in the air. It’s your sanctuary, the one place where you can exist undisturbed.
That’s why you barely glance up when the door swings open, and a sharp gust of wind accompanies a new customer inside. But then you hear her.
“Christ, it’s freezing out there. Do you not believe in heating, or what?”
The voice is loud, distinct, and unmistakably Irish. You glance up, and your heart stutters for a beat.
Katie McCabe.
Even if you weren’t a football fan—and you’re not, really—you’d recognize her anywhere. Her image is everywhere: Arsenal star, Ireland’s national treasure, and a lightning rod for attention both on and off the pitch. With her dark hair pulled into a loose ponytail and her piercing green eyes scanning the room, she commands attention effortlessly.
You quickly look back down at your notebook, praying she won’t notice you.
Fate, of course, has other plans.
“Hey, you.”
The words are casual but direct, cutting through the quiet hum of the café. You don’t realize she’s speaking to you until her shadow falls over your table.
You glance up, bewildered. “Me?”
“Yeah, you.” Katie grins, and it’s the kind of grin that suggests she’s up to something. “Mind if I sit?”
Without waiting for an answer, she pulls out the chair across from you and drops into it, looking entirely at ease.
You blink at her, thoroughly confused. “Um… can I help you?”
“Actually, yeah.” She leans forward, propping her elbows on the table. “I’ve got a bit of a situation, and I think you might be able to help me out.”
You stare at her, still trying to process the fact that Katie McCabe, of all people, is sitting at your table, acting like you’re old friends. “I think you’ve got the wrong person.”
She tilts her head, studying you with an intensity that makes you squirm. “Nah, I don’t think so. You’re perfect.”
“For what?”
Katie sits back, crossing her arms and smirking like she’s about to deliver the punchline of a joke. “To be my girlfriend.”
- For a long moment, all you can do is stare at her. “I’m sorry… what?”
“My girlfriend,” she repeats, as if this is the most logical thing in the world. “Well, fake girlfriend. Just for a bit.”
You laugh, certain you’ve misheard her. “Okay, seriously—what is this about? Did someone put you up to this?”
Katie sighs, running a hand through her hair. “Look, I know it sounds mad, but hear me out. There’s this charity gala next weekend, and my ex is going to be there. With her new girlfriend. Who just so happens to play for Chelsea.”
“And…?” you prompt, still thoroughly confused.
“And I can’t show up alone,” Katie says, as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world. “Do you have any idea how smug they’ll be? No way I’m letting them get one over on me.”
You shake your head, still struggling to wrap your mind around what’s happening. “So your solution is to drag a random stranger into this?”
“Not random,” Katie says, her grin returning. “I’ve seen you in here before. You seem… normal. Quiet. Not the type to run to the tabloids.”
“That’s your criteria? Normal and quiet?”
She shrugs. “Also, you’re cute. That helps.”
Your face heats at the casual compliment, but you refuse to let her distract you. “Katie, I don’t even know you.”
“And I don’t know you,” she counters. “That’s the beauty of it. No one will suspect a thing.”
You stare at her, incredulous. “This is insane.”
“Probably,” she admits. “But I’m desperate. Come on, it’s just one night. I’ll pay you if you want. Whatever it takes.”
Her green eyes are locked on yours, and for a moment, you see a flicker of vulnerability beneath her confident exterior. She really does seem desperate.
You sigh, running a hand through your hair. “This is ridiculous. Why me?”
“Because I’m out of options,” Katie says simply. “And you… you seem like someone I can trust.”
The weight of her words surprises you. Against your better judgment, you find yourself considering her proposal.
“One night?” you ask cautiously.
Katie nods. “One night. That’s it. And I promise, I’ll make it worth your while.”
You hesitate, every instinct telling you to say no. But there’s something about the way she’s looking at you—something earnest and almost endearing—that makes you pause.
“Fine,” you say finally. “But we need rules.”
Katie grins, leaning back in her chair with a satisfied expression. “Rules. Got it. Lay ’em on me.”
Katie’s grin widens as if she’s just scored the winning goal in a cup final. You, on the other hand, feel the weight of your decision settle in—a strange mix of regret and curiosity.
You take a steadying breath and look her in the eye. “First of all, this isn’t a free-for-all. There have to be rules.”
“Fair enough,” Katie says, leaning forward, her chin resting on her hand. “Go on, then. What are the rules?”
You tap your pen against your notebook, thinking. “Rule one: no surprises. If we’re going to do this, I need to know everything beforehand—where we’re going, who’ll be there, what we’re supposed to do. No springing things on me last minute.”
Katie raises an eyebrow but nods. “Fine. No surprises. What else?”
“Rule two: no physical affection unless absolutely necessary.”
Her grin turns mischievous. “Define ‘necessary.’”
You glare at her. “You know what I mean. No kissing, no hand-holding, nothing unless it’s to keep up the act.”
Katie laughs, clearly amused by your flustered tone. “Alright, alright. No unnecessary touching. Got it. Anything else?”
“Rule three…” You pause, unsure how to phrase it. “We keep it professional. No personal stuff. This is a one-time thing, and I don’t want it complicating my life.”
For a moment, Katie’s expression softens. She studies you with a curious tilt of her head, as though trying to figure out what kind of person would say yes to this ridiculous plan. Then she nods.
“Deal,” she says. “Three rules. No surprises, no touching, no personal stuff. Easy.”
You fold your arms. “Good. Now it’s your turn to tell me why this is so important. I need to know what I’m walking into.”
Katie sighs, running a hand through her hair. “Alright, here’s the short version. The gala is a big deal in the football world—sponsors, press, all that. My ex, Ruesha, will be there with her new girlfriend, Louise. Louise and I… let’s just say we don’t get along.”
Your eyebrows lift. “So this is about showing up your ex and her new partner?”
“Not exactly,” Katie says, shifting in her seat. “It’s about showing that I’m fine. That I’ve moved on. That I’m not the same hotheaded, impulsive idiot Charlotte broke up with.”
There’s something raw in her voice, a vulnerability she tries to mask with her usual bravado. It’s the first time you’ve seen a crack in her confident façade.
“Alright,” you say softly. “I get it. But if I’m doing this, you need to promise me something.”
“What’s that?”
“No games. No trying to use me to make anyone jealous or prove a point. If we’re doing this, it’s strictly for appearances.”
Katie meets your gaze, and for a moment, the playful spark in her eyes fades. She nods, her tone serious. “I promise.”
You let out a breath you didn’t realize you were holding. “Okay. So… what happens now?”
Katie’s grin returns, this time with a hint of relief. “Now? We prep. I’ll text you the details, and we’ll work out a plan. Don’t worry—I’ll make this as painless as possible.”
“Somehow, I doubt that,” you mutter.
Katie laughs as she stands, tossing a few bills onto the table. “Thanks for this. You’re saving my ass, you know.”
Before you can respond, she’s out the door, leaving you with a sinking feeling that your quiet life is about to get a lot more complicated.
- Over the next few days, Katie is true to her word-mostly. She texts you the details of the gala: date, time, dress code, and a brief rundown of the attendees. What she doesn’t do, however, is give you much space to breathe.
Her texts are relentless, filled with questions about your life (“What do you do for fun? Need to make our story believable”), comments on your style (“Do you even own anything fancy?”), and more than a few unsolicited jokes.
Katie: Are you sure you’re not a Chelsea fan in disguise?
You: I don’t even watch football.
Katie: Good. Can’t trust a Chelsea fan.
By the time the day of the gala arrives, you’ve exchanged so many messages with her that you feel like you know her—or at least the larger-than-life version she projects.
That’s how you find yourself standing outside the boutique Katie insisted on meeting you at, clutching your coat and wondering how on earth you got here.
The door swings open, and Katie steps out, her sharp features lighting up when she spots you.
“There you are,” she says, striding toward you. “Come on, we’ve got work to do.”
“Work?” you echo, following her inside.
She smirks. “You didn’t think I’d let you show up in jeans and a hoodie, did you?”
Inside, the boutique is all sleek lines and shimmering fabrics, a world away from your usual haunts. Katie gestures to a rack of gowns with a dramatic flourish.
“Pick something,” she says. “And don’t worry—I’m paying.”
You hesitate, glancing at the price tags. “Katie, this is too much—”
“Trust me, it’s not,” she interrupts. “If we’re doing this, we’re doing it right.”
Her confidence is infectious, and despite your protests, you let her help you choose an outfit. It’s strange, seeing this side of her—playful, encouraging, almost charming.
By the time you’re dressed and ready, you catch Katie staring at you in the mirror.
“What?” you ask, self-conscious.
She grins, her voice softer than usual. “You look perfect.”
- The car ride to the gala is quieter than you expected. Katie sits beside you, fidgeting with the cuffs of her tailored suit, her usual bravado noticeably muted. You glance at her, trying to decide if this is the same Katie McCabe who confidently strolled into your life days ago and turned it upside down.
“You alright?” you ask, breaking the silence.
She looks at you, startled, before forcing a smirk. “Me? Yeah, of course. Why wouldn’t I be?”
“You’re fidgeting,” you point out.
Katie immediately stills, shoving her hands into her lap. “I’m not fidgeting. Just… warming up, you know? Big game mentality.”
You snort. “This isn’t a game.”
“Isn’t it, though?” she says, her grin returning. “It’s all about strategy. Confidence. Timing. Same rules apply.”
You shake your head, but her words stick with you. As the car pulls up to the venue—a sprawling estate lit up like something out of a fairy tale—you suddenly feel the weight of what you’ve agreed to.
The driver opens the door, and Katie steps out first, extending a hand to you. For a moment, you hesitate. Then you take it, her grip steadying you as you step onto the red carpet.
“Ready?” she murmurs, her voice low enough that only you can hear.
“No,” you admit, your heart racing as cameras flash in the distance.
Katie squeezes your hand, her smirk softening into something more reassuring. “Don’t worry. Just stick with me.”
The ballroom is even more intimidating than the exterior. Chandeliers cast a warm, golden glow over a sea of impeccably dressed guests, their laughter and conversation blending into a hum of sophistication. Katie leads you through the crowd with the ease of someone who belongs, her hand resting lightly on the small of your back.
You catch a few people staring—some curious, others outright surprised. It doesn’t take long for someone to approach.
“Katie!”
A tall woman in a sleek black dress strides over, her smile polished and sharp. You don’t need to be told who she is; the tension in Katies shoulders gives it away.
“Ruesha,” Katie says, her tone neutral but her smile strained.
The woman’s gaze flicks to you, her eyebrows lifting in surprise. “And who’s this?”
Before you can respond, Katie slips an arm around your waist, pulling you closer. “This is my girlfriend,” she says smoothly. “We’ve been seeing each other for a while now. Isn’t that right, love?”
The word catches you off guard, but you recover quickly, nodding. “That’s right.”
Ruesha’s smile doesn’t falter, but there’s a flicker of something—annoyance, maybe?—in her eyes. “How… lovely. I didn’t realize you were seeing someone.”
Katie shrugs, her expression deceptively casual. “I like to keep my private life private these days.”
Before Rushea can respond, another voice cuts in.
“Ruesha aren’t you going to introduce us?”
You turn to see a strikingly beautiful woman join the group. She’s tall and athletic, her confident demeanor radiating the same energy as Katie’s—but colder, more calculating. Louise, you realize.
“Louise, this is Katie and…” Ruesha hesitates, clearly having forgotten your name.
“Y/N,” Katie supplies smoothly, her arm tightening around you.
“Y/N,” Ruesha repeats, her tone almost apologetic. “This is Louise.”
Louise extends a hand, her smile as sharp as the rest of her. “Pleasure to meet you.”
You shake her hand, acutely aware of the tension crackling between her and Katie. “Likewise.”
“So,” Louise says, turning to Katie. “Didn’t think I’d see you here. You always hated these events.”
Katie’s smile doesn’t waver. “Things change.”
The conversation feels like a battlefield, every word carefully chosen and loaded with subtext. You do your best to play along, nodding and smiling in the right places, but it’s clear that Katie is the one holding the line.
Finally, Ruesha and Louise excuse themselves, leaving you and Katie alone again.
“Well,” you say, exhaling a breath you didn’t realize you were holding. “That was… intense.”
Katie laughs, but it’s more bitter than amused. “Welcome to my world.”
- The rest of the evening passes in a blur of introductions and polite conversation. Katie is charming and confident, slipping effortlessly into her role as the doting girlfriend. You find yourself admiring how natural she makes it seem—like this really is her world, and you’re just lucky to be part of it.
But as the night wears on, you notice the cracks. The way her smile falters when she thinks no one is looking. The way her hand grips her glass a little too tightly whenever Charlotte or Louise is nearby.
It’s not until much later, when the crowd begins to thin and the band starts playing slower songs, that Katie finally lets her guard down.
“Come on,” she says, tugging you toward the dance floor.
You hesitate. “Katie, I don’t dance—”
“Neither do I,” she says, cutting you off. “But we’ve got appearances to keep up, remember?”
Before you can argue, she pulls you into her arms, her hands settling lightly on your waist. You place your hands on her shoulders, trying to ignore the way your heart skips a beat as she pulls you closer.
The music is soft and slow, the kind of song that leaves no room for distance. You glance up at her, surprised to find her looking back at you with an expression you can’t quite read.
“You’re good at this,” you say, your voice barely above a whisper.
Katie chuckles, but there’s no humor in it. “Fake it till you make it, right?”
You tilt your head, studying her. “Is that what you’re doing? Faking it?”
For a moment, she doesn’t answer. Then she looks away, her jaw tightening. “What else is there?”
Her words catch you off guard, the vulnerability in them cutting through the practiced confidence she wears like armor. Before you can respond, she shakes her head and forces a smile.
“Forget it,” she says. “Let’s just get through tonight.”
But as the song ends and the crowd applauds, you can’t shake the feeling that there’s more to Katie McCabe than meets the eye—and that maybe, just maybe, this fake relationship isn’t as simple as you thought.
- The car ride back is a stark contrast to the ride there. Katie is quiet, staring out the window with her hands clasped in her lap. You sit beside her, the weight of the evening pressing down on you like a heavy coat.
It’s not until you’re halfway back to your apartment that she finally speaks.
“Thanks for tonight,” she says, her voice softer than you’ve ever heard it.
You glance at her, surprised. “You’re welcome.”
Katie doesn’t elaborate, and the silence stretches between you, filled with unspoken words and questions you’re too afraid to ask.
When the car pulls up to your building, she steps out first, holding the door for you. You hesitate on the sidewalk, unsure what to say.
“So… I guess that’s it?” you ask, your voice uncertain.
Katie looks at you, her expression unreadable. For a moment, you think she’s going to say something important. Then she flashes you one of her signature grins, the kind that doesn’t quite reach her eyes.
“Yeah. That’s it.”
You nod, feeling a strange pang of disappointment as you turn to go.
“Y/N.”
Her voice stops you in your tracks. You turn back to see her standing there, hands shoved into the pockets of her coat.
“If you ever need a favor… or just want to grab a coffee or something… you know where to find me.”
You blink at her, surprised. “Are you asking to be friends?”
Katie laughs, the sound lighter this time. “Maybe. Is that so bad?”
You smile despite yourself. “No, it’s not bad. I’ll think about it.”
She grins. “Fair enough. Goodnight, Y/N.”
“Goodnight, Katie.”
You don’t expect to hear from Katie again, but a few days later, your phone buzzes with a text.
Katie: How’s the quiet life? Miss me yet?
You roll your eyes but can’t help smiling.
You: Hardly. I’m enjoying the peace, thanks.
Katie: Liar. Meet me at the café later. My treat.
Against your better judgment, you agree.
When you walk into the café, Katie is already there, leaning back in her chair with a cup of coffee in hand. She looks up when you approach, her grin widening.
“Hey, stranger.”
“Hey,” you say, sliding into the seat across from her. “What’s this about?”
She shrugs. “Just wanted to check in. Make sure you’re not scarred for life after the gala.”
You laugh, shaking your head. “I survived. Barely.”
Katie smirks. “You did great, by the way. Couldn’t have pulled it off without you.”
“Glad I could help,” you say, sipping your tea. “But seriously, why are you here? I thought this was a one-time thing.”
Katie hesitates, her grin faltering. “I don’t know. Guess I just… liked hanging out with you.”
Her admission catches you off guard, and for a moment, you don’t know how to respond.
“Well,” you say finally, “I liked hanging out with you too. Even if you did drag me into your ridiculous plan.”
Katie laughs, the sound warm and genuine. “Yeah, sorry about that. But admit it—it wasn’t all bad.”
You smile. “No, it wasn’t.”
For the next hour, the two of you talk like old friends, the conversation flowing easily despite your differences. You’re surprised by how comfortable you feel around her, how quickly the walls you’ve built start to crumble.
When you finally leave the café, you realize something strange: you’re actually looking forward to seeing her again.
- Over the next few weeks, your life begins to shift in ways you never expected. Katie texts you almost daily, her messages ranging from sarcastic quips to genuine questions about your day. She invites you to watch her matches, introduces you to her teammates, and even convinces you to kick a ball around with her at the park one evening.
At first, you tell yourself it’s just friendship. But as the days turn into weeks, you can’t ignore the growing tension between you—the way her smile lingers a little too long, the way your heart skips a beat whenever she leans in close.
You remind yourself of the rules you set, the lines you swore you wouldn’t cross. But Katie McCabe has a way of breaking down barriers, and no matter how hard you try to resist, you find yourself drawn to her.
One evening, after a particularly close Arsenal match, she shows up at your door, a six-pack of beer in hand.
“Thought you might want to celebrate,” she says, her grin mischievous.
“You won,” you point out, stepping aside to let her in.
“Exactly,” she says, plopping down on your couch like she’s been there a hundred times before.
As the night wears on, the conversation grows deeper, the playful banter giving way to something more serious.
“You’re different, you know,” Katie says suddenly, her gaze fixed on you.
You blink at her, surprised. “Different how?”
She shrugs, her expression uncharacteristically vulnerable. “Just… different. In a good way.”
Your heart skips a beat, and for a moment, you can’t find the words to respond.
“Katie…” you start, but she cuts you off, her grin returning.
“Don’t worry,” she says, raising her beer in a mock toast. “I’m not about to confess my undying love or anything. Just… wanted you to know.”
You laugh, but her words stick with you long after she leaves.
- It happens on a quiet night, one of those evenings where neither of you plans anything but somehow end up together anyway. Katie shows up unannounced—again—this time with a pizza and a bottle of wine.
“Figured you wouldn’t say no to free food,” she says with her trademark grin, already letting herself in.
You roll your eyes but don’t stop her. “Do you ever ask before barging into people’s lives?”
“Not when I know the answer’s yes,” she quips, plopping onto your couch and propping her feet up on the coffee table.
You sit beside her, the familiar routine settling in as you eat, drink, and talk. The conversation flows effortlessly, jumping from football to books to the absurdity of life.
Somewhere between the second slice of pizza and the third glass of wine, the mood shifts. The laughter fades into a comfortable silence, and you realize just how close you’re sitting—your legs brushing, your shoulders almost touching.
Katie turns to you, her expression softer than usual. “You know,” she says, her voice low, “this is nice.”
“What is?” you ask, your pulse quickening.
“This.” She gestures vaguely between the two of you. “Hanging out. Not pretending, not putting on a show. Just… being.”
You swallow hard, her words stirring something deep inside you. “Yeah,” you say quietly. “It is.”
For a moment, neither of you moves. The air feels charged, the space between you shrinking with every passing second. Then, without thinking, you speak.
“Katie, why did you really ask me to do this? The gala, the fake dating—why me?”
She hesitates, her eyes searching yours. “Because you’re different,” she says finally. “You’re honest. You don’t care about the football, or the fame, or any of the other crap people usually care about. You see me. Just me.”
Her words hit you like a punch to the gut, and before you can stop yourself, you’re leaning in.
So is she.
The kiss is soft at first, tentative, as though both of you are afraid to break the spell. Then Katie’s hand slides to the back of your neck, pulling you closer, and the world tilts on its axis.
When you finally pull away, you’re both breathing hard, her forehead resting against yours.
“Wow,” she murmurs, her lips quirking into a small, stunned smile.
“Yeah,” you whisper, your mind racing.
Katie pulls back slightly, her expression turning serious. “Are you okay?”
You nod, your fingers still clutching the front of her shirt. “I think so. Are you?”
She chuckles, brushing a strand of hair from your face. “Better than okay.”
The warmth in her gaze sends your heart into overdrive, but reality crashes down a moment later.
“Katie,” you say hesitantly, “this wasn’t supposed to happen.”
Her smile falters, but she doesn’t let go. “I know. But…” She pauses, her voice dropping to a whisper. “What if it’s supposed to?”
- After that night, everything changes.
Katie doesn’t pull away. If anything, she becomes even more present in your life—texting you good morning, showing up at your place unannounced, dragging you out to watch sunsets or explore the city.
You try to resist, to remind yourself that this was never meant to be real. But the lines have blurred so completely that you don’t know where the act ends and the truth begins.
And the truth is, you’re falling for her.
It’s in the little things—how she remembers your favorite coffee order, how she always makes you laugh when you’re having a bad day, how she looks at you like you’re the only person in the room.
But it’s also in the bigger moments. Like the time she invites you to a team dinner and introduces you to her teammates as “my person.” Or the night she tells you about her childhood, her struggles, her fears—the parts of herself she keeps hidden from the world.
Every day, you fall a little harder. And every day, you wonder how long this can last before it all comes crashing down.
- It happens during another gala, this time for a charity event. Katie insists on bringing you again, despite your protests.
“You’re my lucky charm,” she says with a grin, her hand warm against yours.
The evening is perfect—until you see Charlotte and Louise across the room.
Katie stiffens beside you, her smile tightening. “Great,” she mutters. “Here we go again.”
You squeeze her hand. “Ignore them. You don’t need to prove anything to her—or anyone else.”
She looks at you, her eyes softening. “Thanks, love.”
The word sends a jolt through you, and you realize with startling clarity that you want her to mean it.
As the night goes on, you find yourself watching her, captivated by the way she moves through the crowd with effortless charm. You can’t help but wonder if she feels the same way—if this has become real for her too.
When the event ends and you’re back in the car, Katie turns to you, her expression uncharacteristically vulnerable.
“Y/N,” she says, her voice barely above a whisper. “I need to know… is this still just pretend for you?”
Your breath catches, her question hanging in the air like a challenge.
“No,” you admit, your voice trembling. “It hasn’t been for a while.”
Relief floods her features, and she reaches for your hand, her fingers threading through yours.
“Good,” she says softly. “Because it’s not pretend for me either.”
- The shift in your relationship is subtle at first, like the first hints of spring after a long winter. Katie still texts you incessantly, still shows up at your door unannounced, but now there’s a softness to her—a quiet vulnerability that wasn’t there before.
You’re hesitant to define what’s happening between you, afraid that putting a label on it will ruin the fragile thing you’ve built. But Katie seems unbothered by the ambiguity.
One evening, as you’re sprawled out on your couch, her head resting in your lap while some random movie plays in the background, she looks up at you and says, “You overthink too much, you know that?”
You pause mid-stroke, your fingers tangled in her hair. “I do not.”
Katie raises an eyebrow, her smirk playful. “You do. I can practically see the gears turning.”
You sigh, your hand dropping to your side. “Can you blame me? This… whatever this is—it’s complicated.”
Katie sits up, her expression serious now. “It doesn’t have to be.”
You stare at her, your heart pounding. “What are you saying?”
“I’m saying I like you, Y/N. More than like you. And I think you feel the same way. So why are we making it harder than it needs to be?”
Her words hit you like a freight train, the raw honesty in her gaze leaving you breathless.
“I…” You hesitate, the weight of your emotions threatening to crush you. “I do feel the same way. But what if this doesn’t work out? What if—”
Katie cuts you off with a kiss, her hands framing your face as she pulls you in. It’s not the first time you’ve kissed, but there’s something different about this one—something that feels permanent, like a promise.
When she pulls away, her forehead rests against yours, her breath warm against your skin. “Stop overthinking,” she murmurs. “Just be with me.”
And for the first time, you let yourself believe that it might be that simple.
- The next few weeks are a whirlwind. Katie is unapologetically affectionate, holding your hand in public, kissing your cheek when she thinks no one is looking, and calling you “love” in a way that makes your heart skip a beat every time.
Her teammates notice the change immediately.
“Well, look who’s gone soft,” one of them teases during a team dinner, nudging Katie with a grin.
Katie doesn’t even try to deny it. “What can I say? I’ve got good taste.”
You laugh, your cheeks burning as you try to wave off the attention. But secretly, you love it—the way she’s so unabashedly proud to be with you.
Of course, not everything is perfect. The press catches wind of your relationship, and suddenly, your private life is splashed across tabloids and gossip columns.
“Katie McCabe’s New Flame: Who Is She?”
You try not to let it get to you, but the constant scrutiny is overwhelming. Katie does her best to shield you from it, but even she can’t control the media.
One night, after yet another article speculating about your relationship, you finally snap.
“I didn’t sign up for this,” you say, pacing your living room while Katie watches from the couch. “I didn’t ask to have my life dissected by strangers.”
“I know,” Katie says quietly. “And I’m sorry. I wish I could make it go away.”
You stop, turning to face her. “Why does it matter so much to them? Why can’t we just be normal?”
Katie stands, crossing the room to take your hands in hers. “Because nothing about us is normal, Y/N. And that’s okay. I don’t care what they say or what they think. All I care about is you.”
Her words are a balm to your frayed nerves, and you let her pull you into a hug, her arms wrapping around you like a shield.
“I’m scared, Katie,” you admit, your voice muffled against her shoulder.
“I know,” she murmurs, pressing a kiss to your hair. “But we’ll figure it out. Together.”
- The first real test of your relationship comes when Katie’s team suffers a devastating loss in a high-stakes match.
She shuts down completely, her usual confidence replaced by a storm of frustration and self-doubt. She doesn’t text, doesn’t call, and when you show up at her apartment unannounced, she barely even looks at you.
“Katie,” you say gently, sitting beside her on the couch. “Talk to me.”
“There’s nothing to talk about,” she mutters, staring at the TV.
You reach for her hand, but she pulls away, her jaw tight. “I just need to be alone right now.”
The words sting, but you nod, standing to leave. “Okay. But I’m here when you’re ready.”
It’s two days before she finally calls.
“I’m sorry,” she says, her voice heavy with guilt. “I shouldn’t have pushed you away.”
“It’s okay,” you say, relief flooding through you. “But you don’t have to go through this alone, Katie. Let me be there for you.”
She’s quiet for a moment before she whispers, “I’m not used to letting people in.”
“I know,” you say softly. “But you let me in once. You can do it again.”
Her silence speaks volumes, and when she finally comes over that evening, she doesn’t say much. But she doesn’t need to. The way she holds you, the way she looks at you—it’s enough.
- The days after Katie’s apology are marked by a cautious rhythm. You both fall back into your routines, but there’s a new layer to your relationship—one that’s fragile and demands more care.
Katie starts opening up in small ways. She shares little details about her day, mentions how her coach has been riding the team harder since the loss, and admits how the pressure is starting to feel unbearable.
“I hate losing,” she confesses one night as you sit on the floor of your living room, sharing a bottle of wine. “But what I hate even more is letting people down.”
“You didn’t let anyone down,” you say firmly, reaching for her hand. “Football is a team sport. It’s not all on you.”
Katie looks at you, her eyes filled with something raw and unspoken. “It feels like it is sometimes.”
You squeeze her hand. “You’re not alone in this. You’ve got your team, your family… and you’ve got me.”
Her lips quirk into a small, grateful smile, and she leans in, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead.
- As Katie’s team prepares for another high-profile match, the media frenzy around your relationship intensifies. Paparazzi follow you to the grocery store, articles dissect every outing, and social media buzzes with speculation.
Katie brushes it off, but you can see the toll it’s taking on her.
“It’s just noise,” she says one evening as you scroll through another invasive article. “They’ll move on eventually.”
But you’re not so sure. Your personal life is now public property, and the constant attention makes you feel exposed in ways you never expected.
The breaking point comes when a particularly nasty headline accuses you of being a distraction to Katie’s career.
“She’s better off without her,” the article declares, accompanied by a photo of the two of you walking hand in hand.
Katie finds you staring at the article, your face pale.
“What’s wrong?” she asks, her tone laced with concern.
You shove your phone toward her, your voice trembling. “This. They’re saying I’m ruining your career.”
Katie skims the article, her jaw tightening. “This is bullshit,” she says sharply. “You’re not ruining anything. If anything, you’re the reason I’m still sane.”
“But what if they’re right?” you whisper. “What if I’m hurting you without even realizing it?”
Katie sets the phone down and takes your face in her hands, forcing you to look at her. “Don’t do this to yourself. Don’t let them get in your head. You’re not a distraction—you’re my anchor. And I wouldn’t trade that for anything.”
Her words bring tears to your eyes, and you nod, letting her pull you into a tight hug.
- In the weeks that follow, you and Katie work to establish a new normal. She arranges for better security to protect your privacy, and you agree to limit your public appearances together to avoid fueling the media fire.
But behind closed doors, your relationship thrives.
Katie starts taking you to her matches, sneaking you into the players’ section so you can cheer her on without drawing attention. You learn the ins and outs of football, surprising even yourself with how invested you become.
And in return, Katie makes an effort to understand your world. She reads your favorite books, asks questions about your work, and even tries her hand at cooking one night—though the results are disastrous.
“It’s the thought that counts,” you tease as you survey the charred remains of what was supposed to be dinner.
Katie groans, burying her face in her hands. “Remind me never to set foot in a kitchen again.”
You laugh, pulling her into a hug. “Deal. But you’re doing the dishes.”
- The turning point in your relationship comes during Katie’s next big match—a game that could make or break her team’s season.
You sit in the stands, your heart pounding as you watch her on the field. She’s a force of nature, her every move calculated and precise. But as the game drags on, the opposing team scores, and you see the frustration etched across her face.
When the final whistle blows, Katie’s team has lost, and the stadium is heavy with disappointment. You make your way to the locker rooms, unsure if she’ll even want to see you.
But when she emerges, her expression tired but determined, she spots you immediately.
“Hey,” she says, her voice soft.
“Hey,” you reply, stepping closer. “You played great.”
She shakes her head. “Not good enough.”
You hesitate, then reach for her hand. “Katie, you’re allowed to be upset. But don’t forget how much you’ve already accomplished. You’re incredible, and one match doesn’t change that.”
Her eyes soften, and she pulls you into a hug, holding you tightly. “Thanks, love,” she murmurs. “I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
“You’ll never have to find out,” you whisper back, meaning every word.
- The loss is a blow to Katie’s confidence, but it also sparks something in her—a determination to prove herself. She throws herself into training, spending extra hours on the field and analyzing game footage late into the night.
At first, you worry she’s pushing herself too hard, but she reassures you.
“I need this,” she says one evening, her voice steady. “I need to know I gave it everything.”
You support her in every way you can, packing her lunches, sneaking notes of encouragement into her bag, and even attending more matches despite the paparazzi. Slowly, the cracks in her confidence begin to mend.
Katie’s hard work pays off in her next match, where she dominates the field and leads her team to a decisive victory. The stadium erupts in cheers, and you can’t help but feel a surge of pride as she looks up at you in the stands, a triumphant grin on her face.
Afterward, she finds you waiting for her outside the locker room. Before you can say a word, she sweeps you into her arms, spinning you around.
“You’re amazing,” you say breathlessly, laughing as she sets you down.
Katie smirks. “I know. But hearing it from you makes it better.”
- As Katie’s career continues to soar, so does the scrutiny around your relationship. But instead of letting it break you, you and Katie learn to face it together.
You stop reading the tabloids, and Katie makes a point to shield you from the worst of it. “It’s just noise,” she reminds you. “What matters is us.”
And she proves it every day. Whether it’s through small gestures—like leaving flowers on your desk—or grand declarations, like when she dedicates a game-winning goal to you, Katie makes it clear that you’re her priority.
One evening, as you sit on the balcony of her apartment, watching the city lights twinkle below, she turns to you with a serious expression.
“Y/N,” she begins, her voice uncharacteristically nervous, “I’ve been thinking a lot about us.”
You raise an eyebrow. “Should I be worried?”
She laughs, shaking her head. “No. But I want you to know that I’m all in. Whatever happens—whether I win or lose, whether the media loves or hates us—I’m not going anywhere. And I hope you feel the same.”
Tears well up in your eyes as you nod. “Of course I do. You’re stuck with me, Katie McCabe.”
“Good,” she says, her grin returning. “Because I wasn’t giving you a choice.”
- The years that follow are a mix of highs and lows, victories and setbacks, but through it all, your love for each other only grows stronger.
Katie continues to dominate on the field, earning accolades and respect from fans and teammates alike. And you carve out a life for yourself that feels fulfilling and balanced, even amidst the chaos of being with someone in the spotlight.
There are challenges, of course. Arguments over schedules, moments of doubt, and the occasional media frenzy. But you learn to navigate them together, always coming back to the foundation of trust and love you’ve built.
One evening, as you sit together on your couch, Katie leans over and kisses your temple.
“You know,” she says softly, “I never thought I’d find someone like you.”
You smile, resting your head on her shoulder. “Someone who puts up with your terrible cooking and late-night football rants?”
She laughs, her arm wrapping around you. “No. Someone who makes me better. Someone who makes all of this—everything—worth it.”
Tears prick your eyes as you look up at her. “I feel the same way.”
And in that moment, you know that whatever the future holds, you’ll face it together.
Because love, real love, isn’t about perfection. It’s about finding someone who makes the imperfections worthwhile. And with Katie, you’ve found exactly that.
(Woah, this was a long one.)

party banter in a tadpoled cazador au
Lae'zel: "I do not understand this Loviathar god. What is the point of injury if not to kill?" Cazador: "I do not understand Loviathar worship either. For one, their methods could use a lot of refinement. Have you seen how crude their whips are?" Astarion: "I'm going to scout ahead. Do alert me when he stops talking."
---
Cazador: "Boy, I have heard you lay flirtations on practically every member of this party aside from me." Astarion: "Cazador! Have you been waiting your turn?" Cazador: "Yes. I believe I might have a scathing enough response that you finally fall silent."
---
Gale: "Cazador Szarr... I've seen your name on research publishings. I'd not expect the face to be Kozakuran." Cazador: "The Wizard of Waterdeep, is it? Does your city find itself inundated often, or does its wizard wish that I remedy that?" Gale: "Er, no need. It was an academic question."
---
Karlach: "Between my body temperature and Gale's magic nonsense, I wonder who's got the worst blood in the party." Cazador: "It's the wizard. I keep my distance from him when I can." Gale: "Side effects of terminal Netherese contamination may include vampire repellency- noted."
---
Cazador: "A Ravengard, are you? And yet I cannot remember your presence among high society in Baldur's Gate." Wyll: "We should all get to know each other more. Let's share a few bottles around the campfire, tonight." Lae'zel: "What does this bottle-sharing entail?" Wyll: "We'll drink alcohol and take turns asking each other innocuous questions." Cazador: "Innocuous questions, yes. But I will not, before you ask again, be telling you the location of all side entrances to my mansion."
---
Shadowheart: "Say, Lae'zel, how do your people do interrogations?" Lae'zel: "We amputate fingers, eyes and limbs until they speak. If that does not work, we try to starve or burn them." Shadowheart: "Really? I'd always heard the other way around. Beatings, starvation, then amputatation." Cazador: "I enjoy flaying before amputating, personally." Shadowheart: "Does that make them more likely to talk?" Cazador: "No, but the vampiric charm I cast once I am bored does."
---
Cazador: "Who is it that handed Astarion a sewing kit yesterday?" Wyll: "I did, I found one in the Blighted Village. Damn, I didn't know vampire senses were that sharp." Cazador: "Oh, I very sharply sensed this morning that somebody undid the seams to all my clothes and sewed my socks together in the night."
---
Cazador: "This incessant wiggling between the eyes is driving me mad. Is this how a heartbeat felt?" Gale: "Not in the slightest. Which begs the question, how many years ago were you buried underneath?" Cazador: "I am older than the goddess you were wildly unfit to dally with, whelp."
---
self-indulgent last one. i headcanon cazador to be very depressed
Cazador: "Now that you've had other blood to compare to, was rat-blood really a reason for offense?" Astarion: "Are you kidding? Wyll's blood is richer than the finest vintage there is. It's incomparable to rat-blood." Cazador: "Hm. Perhaps the passage of centuries has diminished my enjoyment in things." Astarion: "Am I included in 'things'?" Cazador: "Yes." Astarion: "Ugh. All those years spent torturing me, and you weren't even having fun?"

◦ words: overcharge, sweet, and slap (> 600 words)
.・゜゜・・゜゜・..・゜゜・・゜゜・..・゜゜・・゜゜・..・゜゜
“Did you really have to make them kiss?” Vernon asked, peeking into your laptop.
Slamming the top of the laptop closed, you let out a strangled noise of protest and say,
“I think it's sweet! Don’t you think everyone deserves a happy ever after?”
With amusement in his voice, Vernon replied, “Even if they didn’t, you would have forced them to have one anyways. But what I don’t get is why do you like writing gay fanfiction about 2D people so much.?”
“What is that supposed to mean? Are you making fun of me?” You ask tersely.
“No, of course not, babe”, Vernon placates, raising his hands in surrender. “Maybe I will understand it more if you write something about real people.” He clicked his fingers as the world’s best idea dawned on him. “I know! Why don't you write about me and Boo?”
Your brain stutters to a stop and you can’t help but look at your boyfriend disbelievingly. Maybe, I am dreaming right now, you think. To make sure that you aren’t hallucinating or going stark raving mad, you go,
“Are you asking me to write a yaoi fic about you and your best friend?”
“Yeah, write a boover, solkwan or whatever they call it.”
You correct him automatically, “it's solboo”
“Yeah, solboo. Write a solboo fic. I think Seungkwan would love to see what kind of person you write him as.”
You had a secret. Sometimes, just sometimes, you didn't know if your boyfriend was kidding or not. This was one of those times. Trying to test the waters, you hum and say, “I would have to charge you then. This writer doesn't work for free.”
Vernon nods approvingly. “Of course, the fact that you are willing to write for free usually doesn't mean you shouldn't know your worth. Good job standing up for yourself, babe. And you should even add an overcharge if I annoy you like this.”
“Thank you”, you giggle.
He continues, “And since you are charging, can I make some requests? Can you add in a fight scene or something? I would like to beat something up. Wait, let me ask Seungkwanie if he wants to be in a fight too.”
Vernon looks around to see where he put his phone. He made a beeline for it when he found it. With an aha, he shoots a text and comes back to sit next to you.
“What did you text him about?” You ask bemusedly.
“Huh?”
“What did you say to Seungkwan?”
Vernon was starting to get a bit confused by this exchange.
“I asked him if he wanted to be in a fight?”
“This and nothing else?”.
You try to clamp down the giggles that are bubbling inside you.
“Is there anything else to say?”
But thinking about Seungkwan's face when he sees the text Vernon sent, you can't help but break into a peal of laughter. Much to the growing confusion of your boyfriend, you laughed straight for five minutes. Forcing yourself to wrestle the conversation back to where you guys were, you say,
“A fight scene maybe a bit too much for me but I could add in a slap for you.”
A bit offended, Vernon shoots back “I don't want to get slapped for no reason.”
“Why would it be for no reason? Maybe you cheated on Seungkwan?”
“If I did, then I would deserve it and more but I would never cheat on him.” Vernon protested.
The slowly heating up banter between the couple in the cozy apartment and snowflakes whirling around the air outside was the opposite in every way but one. Both of them were where they belonged.

There's no force on this planet that can convince me that Fin doesn't have
A.) A praise kink (giving and receiving)
B.) a breeding kink (Lord have mercy)
And C.) at least a mild size kink.
UGGHH YOURE SO RIGHT QUEEN these are all so painfully trueee
MDNI under the cut!!
Praise kink?
We see how much people compare this man to a dog. Call him a good boy and he's going to fall to his knees. But he also loves to praise his partner and let them know how amazing he thinks they are in any situation. He never shuts up!!
On the receiving end, quite literally anything will make him melt. He LOVES a good mix of you telling him how good of a boy he is while you tug on his hair. Call him handsome and strong and brave and he's mush.
On the giving end, he's always telling you how perfect you are. Even when he's beyond fucked out he's mumbling "f-fuck fuck so good- you're so good so fucking perfect-" he physically cannot stop praising you. He needs you to know how much he loves you.
BREEDING KINK??? ARGHHH don't even get me STARTEDDD
While I think Hazard would be good with kids, I highly doubt he wants them. At least anytime soon. He lives a wild life and definitely has doubts because of his own parents and difficult home life as a kid.
But boy does he still love to try! He fucks you over and over after he gets just a glimpse of his cum dripping out of you. It drives him absolutely insane. Makes him feel almost possessive and incredibly confident. Ugh and if you beg him to cum inside you? Huge ego boost! His pretty baby wants him to fill them up? Done and done.
Size kink 😮💨
Don't know how tall he is canonically but in my brain he's at LEAST 6'5. And oh BOY does he have a size kink. Literally just standing next to you and looking down at you has him blushing and ... thinking. If you wear his shirt? He's a dead man walking. When you sit on his lap? He's at a loss for words.
Im also a firm believer that his cock is huge. So he takes his sweet time prepping you beforehand. His fingers are big and thick too 🤭 he has you whining and on the verge of tears before he's actually fucked you. It's a tight fit when he actually gets his dick inside you, genuinely drives him mad. He's got you clawing at and scraping his shoulders. He just completely covers you when he's on top. 😮💨 His back muscles are tensing from how deliciously tight you are.
I'm in the process of writing a short with all of these so stay tuned!!

Oops I thought about Mithrun and Senshi too much and now the ship has sailed, sorry, it's cresting the horizon there's no point in even waving anymore.
(Cross-posted from a thread I wrote on bluesky yesterday.)
Mithrun was already fond of Senshi because Senshi is the person who made him feel like he deserved to keep living, so during the first year or so when the new kingdom is still getting settled Mithrun hangs around Senshi whenever they happen to cross paths.
Somebody mentions to Senshi that Mithrun wanted to learn to make noodles, so Senshi thinks that's why and is happy to teach him. Senshi is also trying to make a concentrated effort to unlearn his prejudices, and Mithrun turns out to be easy to talk to. He doesn't mind answering any odd questions Senshi has, or admitting when he doesn't know something. He'll also explain his own motivations (when he understands them himself) so even with Senshi's blunted social skills they can understand each other.
So it just makes sense for them to move in together! Neither of them is going to live in the city full-time, Senshi enjoys cooking for another person when they ARE both home, and they can report back to each other when they've seen particularly dangerous/delicious monsters on their trips. Logic!
Neither of them has a strong sexual/romantic drive so it's a solid decade before they even think to put a label on it. There are small changes here and there over the years though. Senshi learns Mithrun can't sleep without being lulled into it so he always makes him a filling snack and a warm drink. He keeps an eye on Mithrun's health and schedule. He likes doing this kind of thing, it feels good to have someone to take care of.
It's not perfect, of course. Mithrun has trouble expressing what he likes and wants, and since he's usually pretty blunt unless he's being bitchy Senshi has no idea when Mithrun is upset. Senshi can get upset about stuff too, and Mithrun has to learn to do things that seem pointless to him because they make Senshi happier.
(yes this is about doing the dishes)
And then one day while they're eating Senshi gently tucks Mithrun's hair behind his ear because it's gotten a little long and is suddenly overwhelmed with affection and the urge to do... something. He should do something here, right? So he offers to tie it back, but that's harder than expected.
Senshi tracks down Chilchuck to ask him how to do hair, and Chilchuck catches on immediately and is like, "lol, weird, you do you though man, congrats." Senshi is baffled and Chilchuck passes the lesson along to Flertom instead (her hair is most similar to Mithrun's). After that Mithrun heads out on his missions with his hair neatly pulled back and always returns once the braids have completely fallen apart.
Eventually Senshi is able to put a name to his feelings and realize he's felt this way for a WHILE, so he tells Mithrun he loves him. Mithrun says, "It doesn't feel the way it did before, but I care for you, your happiness is important to me. Being parted from you would be deeply unpleasant. I don't know if there's a name for this feeling other than 'love.'" And then reveals he inquired about dwarvish marriage customs EIGHT YEARS AGO and has had the rings in his room this whole time. Senshi, tearfully, accepts.
They have a quiet ceremony that weekend and forget to invite anyone.
Senshi eventually remembers to tell his friends, who are differing levels of surprised. Mithrun sends formal notices to the people who matter back in the elven kingdom and causes a HUGE scandal. He's quietly thrilled about this.
People who assumed Senshi and Mithrun were together this whole time and only mildly surprised they weren't already married: Laios, Falin, Kabru
(Kabru sees Mithrun often and always politely inquires "how are things with Senshi back home?" and Mithrun always says "good." or, rarely, "he's mad at me. 😑")
People who knew they weren't officially together but aren't surprised it turned out this way: Chilchuck, Cithis, Mithrun's brother
(Obrin came to visit once and Mithrun introduced Senshi as "this is Senshi, I like him." and Senshi was like "aw, I like you too! 🥰" and Obrin was just like "......hm!")
People who are absolutely blindsided: Marcille, Pattadol
(Marcille thinks love is supposed to be INTENSE and OVERWHELMING and LIFE-CHANGING and like, it can be but calm down.)
People who literally never wondered about them at all: Izutsumi
(Izutsumi lives with them, as much as she lives with anybody, she just doesn't care. She actually likes Mithrun's cooking better because he will serve her plain noodles without a word and Senshi is devastated by this.)
I'm not sure if they have sex. I think they would at least try it to see if it's for them. It does help Mithrun fall asleep! And I think Senshi would definitely enjoy being able to make Mithrun really come undone.
Not much really changes after they get married, they still have their own rooms, they still live largely separate lives. Except Senshi no longer has to worry about maintaining personal space when spending time with Mithrun. You're allowed to hug and cuddle your husband whenever you want, right? That's part of the whole deal!
Mithrun likes it but only Senshi can tell, at least until Mithrun starts reciprocating. Somebody who doesn't know they're together sees Mithrun wander over and lean on Senshi like an armrest and they're like "uhhhhh is that racist?" and somebody else is like "no no they're just like that."

*spoilers for the dragon prince seasons 1-7 ahead*
okay, but in runaan’s pov (and forgive me if I get anything wrong here),
he goes off to kill a king and prince and… brings his daughter along. His daughter gives them away so he makes her stay behind (probably to save her life tbh) but she goes anyway and tries to convince him it’s a big mistake while protecting the adopted son of the king he’s there to kill. So then Runaan fights his own daughter but she gets away with the adopted son.
So, runaan goes back to his job and kills the king, and the only weird thing is that the king kind of squawked at him in the end? People do strange things when they are about to die though so he doesn’t think too much of it. but because his daughter betrayed them he gets captured and then trapped in a coin by an evil mage. And he gets stuck in an in-between state of unfinished business for two years before his daughter comes and saves him.
and when he’s finally free, the adopted son of the king he killed is there, and also dating his daughter? And he can’t be mad about it because the adopted son is a mage (but somehow not a dark mage despite being human) and helped his daughter save him.
So while runaan is healing up, he has to watch his daughter date this ridiculous human (who actually doesn’t show much of a grudge towards runaan for murdering the king). But soon enough the boy goes to help his brother - who runaan was also supposed to kill.
and at this point, runaan just wants to go back to his lover, but when he’s finally well enough to travel, his daughter is like “actually I’m very sorry but we have to go back to the place where you were captured and trapped in a magic coin because I promised”
so runaan goes only to be yelled at by the prince, now king, that he failed to murder and is arrested for murdering the original king because unlike adopted son this son is very angry. A few days later, his daughter saves him with the eventual help of the adopted son / annoying human with the nerve to date his daughter. But it’s fine, he finally gets back to his lover. It’s a bit of a process to get his daughter unbanished, but after that everything should go back to how it was
except because adopted son went against his king brother to help runaan escape, he is now hanging around and make inane comments about how pretty the silver grove is and making out with runaan’s daughter. And, apparently, planning on having ten kids with said daughter. Yuck
but after only two weeks of the boy’s interloping, suddenly they find out that the world is at risk of ending. And now runaan is going on a road trip with the adopted son of man he murdered / potential son-in-law only to find that the person they were searching for is already murdered and then runaan has to save the boy’s life from an evil mage (different one, btw)
and then once the evil mage leaves, the boy (who runaan has really only known for a few weeks) declares his intent to commit dark magic to trap the evil elf trying to destroy the world, but makes runaan promise to assassinate him as soon as he does dark magic so that the evil elf can’t control him. Runaan agrees to this despite probably knowing that it would break his daughter’s heart
so they go back and the adopted son is standing there ready to cast the spell and runaan is standing there ready to shoot him when Runaan gets attacked by the dark mage and thrown to the ground. Thankfully things still work out and the people who runaan care about (including the adopted son, who unfortunately wasn’t spared from using dark magic but isn’t at risk of being controlled anymore) make it out alive
so anyways, after things calm down and wanting to clear his name, runaan goes to the young king and submits to his justice. The young king forgives him, with difficulty, then asks a reasonable question. “Did my father have any last words?”
and runaan has to tell this young, twelve year old king that the last sound his father made was a squawk. Only this seems to have real significance for the people in the room and now there’s a very real chance that the person you assassinated isn’t actually dead but, somehow, swapped bodies with a… bird???
but we don’t actually know because the next season isn’t renewed.
anyways, runaan had a rough time of it

can you do headcanons of pepe marti having a long term crush on a driver!reader (like since childhood/karting days)? They're both managed by Fernando Alonso, and he's basically meddling trying to set the two of them up, while stil overprotective of reader.
to teach a young dog some old tricks | pepe marti x fem!reader
a confession: im quite new to to the pepe lore and fanbase so i tried really really hard to make this as accurate and interesting as possible. that being said, omg i have so many thoughts about this!!! it’s such a fun and playful idea i got to reaserch and writing as soon as i could! have a wonderful day baby and i sincerely hope you enjoy this one! cheers!! <3
i know i have some requests to write about paul but i can’t do it rn still processing his soft launch someone help
warning(s): teen feels! awkwardness and a lot of cutesy moments
pepe was one of your best friends since you can remember - you started karting around europe around the same time and quickly developed a strong bond
there weren’t a lot of girls at the tracks, and some boys weren’t very nice, but that wasn’t pepe’s style
even on a bad rainy day, he was full of smiles and encouraging words
he thought you were impressive- okay, maybe a little scary at first, with the fiery gleam in your eyes and a wide grin that made his teenage heart clench a little
therefore, he tried his best not to make you upset like those other kids, with their loud voices and nasty remarks
and so your defensive walls quickly crumbled: you became attached to the hip ever since
that was the story thought most of your junior series: it was always you and pepe against the world, both fiercely protective of each other on and off track
it was one of the things that drew in fernando alonso: he couldn’t remember the last time he smiled so much watching the two of you fight your way through the field and celebrate together
true passion and friendship, the very essence of the sport he devoted his life toward
he knew instantly that he wanted to see you grow and help cultivate that fire you displayed on track
“joder, kids these days… just like me and lewis back in the day huh”
that’s how you were taken under his wing and for a while things were going perfectly
that was until christian came into the picture
he had this disarming charm and warmth about him that matched pepe’s playfulness and kindness: soon they were inseparable, despite being in different teams and under different managers, they seemed to hang out all the time
it became worse when all of you moved to f3 and the boys became teammates
pepe’s greetings became briefer and his usual chatter was replaced by awkwardness
“hey! good to see you, uh, good luck in practice, sorry, i gotta go- chris told me the team needs me, see ya!”
it was upsetting, for sure, you were always there for each other in the past: he wasn’t performing well and you weren’t either
it seemed as the universe was telling you that the only way to succeed was together
“por dios, im such an idiot! why did i mess up turn four, rookie mistake-”
he ranted to chris all the time, just like he did to you all those years, but now it was different
“mate, don’t be so hard on yourself, nobody’s mad at you. out of all people, she will understand”
he was so ashamed
pepe didn’t want you to see him this frustrated, this weak… especially since you were so mad after your dnf; he wanted to come, but when he had heard those swears spew out of your perfect lips, the air just got kicked out of his lungs
his mind was completely blank, and all he could do was stare at you from the distance and stumble out a sorry and pull half-hearted smile
you were just so pretty when you were mad, he wanted to comfort you, to make it better, to blow off some steam together, to hug, to kiss that pout way from your lips… hold up, what?
the truth is, pepe had a massive crush on you
he tried to get him to confess, to talk to you at least, but it was all in vain
mansell figured him out quickly and teased him relentlessly about it until he realised just how deeply pepe’s feelings ran
it was one that begun as admiration and friendship and grew slowly into something more as you grew up together, without his even noticing when you became so beautiful he couldn’t think straight when you were nearby
when fernando saw the results, he was surprised to say the least’ what do you mean? his two star drivers, competing for points instead of wins every weekend? it raised some eyebrows around the paddock
he had thought he figured it out quickly, the pressure got to you and you weren’t getting the same amount of support, right? but pepe? he made so many new friends and seemed to be just fine besides his results: so what has changed?
he needed one look at your face after he mentioned pepe’s name to knew what this was about
“you two are going to jerez with me. i don’t want any excuses”
he though that getting you in the same room for a longer period would solve the problem by itself but oh damn how quickly that one backfired
at the track, pepe was making mistake after mistake, avoiding alonso’s gaze and your presence
“you see this? you have this pattern when you mess up the left-hander and instantly go off the racing like at sequence- pepe, mierda, ¿estas escuchando o no?”
under each his determined look there was hint of sheepishness and shame
“in my time when a boy liked a girl he would just ask her our on a date and not make a disaster out of himself”
he said gruffly but his tense expression was soon replaced by understanding and a bit of mischief in his eyes
“but, i can’t possibly do that to her! she’s already under so much pressure and i’s scared i’ll ruin our friendship-“
“believe me, if you keep this up it’ll get ruined soon. you can either man up and do something about or lose her and your career in the process”
fernando’s words were harsh but rang true: he had to do something about
the next few days were a mix of gruesome training and long talks
you were both too exhausted to lie and fernando’s efforts to get two of you alone in one room didn’t go unnoticed: on the fifth day pepe gave up and confessed, stuttering and blushing but confessed either way
he then apologizes by taking you out to a very nice restaurant (one that may or may not have been recommended by the older spaniard)
pepe was very careful with his words, remembering the words of his mentor: "if she doesn't run you over - i will"
