I’m going to adopt a cat one day and name it Nagini and every time I say “Nagini, dinner!” the cat will jog over towards me with a little meow and a jingle of her tiny collar bell and it will make me cackle

Headcanon: when Snape isn’t wearing his full robes with the travelling cloak, it’s when he’s feeling the most confident. He often feels exposed without the billowing fabric covering him up and obscuring your view of his body. When you see him in his frock coat without the cloak, be prepared for peak Snape sarcasm and wit, more elaborate body language, and an almost permanent smirk, the confidence just oozing from him.

Is it a coincidence that I just saw the Anastasia musical…?
Thanks for the recommendation!! Love your blog and congrats 🥳

For you, I recommend Rasputin (1996). While it is overly sympathetic to the Romanovs and leaves little time for the rest of Russia, it is an interesting take on the notorious figure. (Nice looking costumes and settings too!)
Some of the more outrageous things (like the bishop instantly blessing him or when he makes a drunken fool of himself at a restaurant) are at least attested by historical sources, and it omits things that serious histories often omit (like the first failed assassination attempt by a noseless woman). So with all the lies and finger-pointing around Rasputin, its as credible an interpretation as any and of course Alan Rickman is in it!

Said it before, but one of my absolute least favorite fanon tropes is Unnecessarily Verbose Snape™
Fic Snape having dialogue like "What for, pray tell, would you feel so incapable of restraining yourself from flinging your errant piece of footwear in my general direction, you foolish child?"
Where canon Snape would just say "Why'd you throw your shoe at me?"
