“Nix, if you think I want to spend my Sunday evening learning to salsa dance with a bunch of soccer moms then I think your concussion hasn’t healed properly.” Jake sasses in response to Nat’s invitation.
“Yeah, I’m sorry Nat but Sunday is my chill out day, when else am I gonna beat Fitch’s ass on cod?” Fanboy reasons.
Natasha knew it was a stretch asking the boys to join her salsa dancing class, but she thought it was important for them to get out more. At the moment, seemingly all they did was trudge from work to the Hard Deck over and over again.
She sighs, “it would be good for you guys to get out more, y’know?”
“I’ll go, Nat,” Bob smiles, nodding to her from where he is perched on a stool behind her.
“Thank you, Bob.” Nat nods back to him, “the rest of you can suck it.”
“Hey!” Bradley yells as he appears back from the bar, beers in tow, “what did we say about using that type of language?”
“Shut up Dadley,” Nat rolls her eyes as Bradley flicks his tongue out before handing her a beer.
“As much as I’d truly love to attend that class ‘Nix, I’m already a salsa pro and I wouldn’t want you to feel embarrassed about your skills,” Bradley declares, before taking an obnoxious sip of his beer.
“Yeah fuckin’ right, and my dad is prima ballerina,” Jake snorts.
“Let’s not discredit Papa Seresin, I saw him tear Boogie Wonderland up at your sister’s wedding.” Coyote nods.
“Yeah and even that shit was better than what Rooster could pull off,” Jake decides.
Bradley only shrugs at the jibe, a lazy smirk plastered onto his face, which serves only to piss Jake off more.
“Dance off?” Fanboy proposes, standing to head to the jukebox.
“No?” Jake frowns.
Fanboy drops back to his seat with a sigh, “was worth a shot.”
Nat shakes her head with a snort and brings the conversation back to the matter at hand.
“Look it’s fine, I’m just saying I think you guys would enjoy it!” She reasons.
“I’m sure it’ll be fun!” Bob adds happily.
Nat can only sigh at the lack of response.
Tumblr media
Bob is already waiting outside the community centre when Nat arrives, looking down and nervously picking at a thread on the bottom of his gym shorts.
“You ready?” Nat questions, trying to alleviate his nerves.
When Bob looks up his brows unfurl and he lets a small smile sip onto his face.
“Yeah, sure, let’s do this!” He pumps his fist a little awkwardly.
Nat can only chuckle in response as she makes her way to the room at the left of the reception where the class is held. You’re stood by the door chatting with one of the older women in your class when Nat comes into your view.
“Natasha! How’s my best student?” You tease, stepping towards her.
“I’m great, thanks!” Nat blushes before gesturing to Bob, “I hope you don’t mind, I brought a friend.”
Bob sucks in a breath as you finally lock eyes with him. Shit. You were beautiful and those leggings were doing you an undoubted amount of favours.
Sadly, Bob had an incredibly annoying habit he was unable to shake. It was known as “embarrassing himself in front of beautiful women” and that seemed to strike him just as you stuck your manicured hand out to shake his own.
The breath that Bob had sucked in caught in his throat which was drying up increasingly as he took you in, leading to an unprecedented coughing fit doubling him over. What seemed to make it worse was your shocked gasp and immediate move to lean over him and pay his back gently. Bob tried not to focus on your cleavage directly next to his face and instead on regulating his breathing. It was proving difficult, especially when he could hear Nat cackling at his misfortune from behind him.
Once almost fully back to normal, you squeeze his bicep and chuckle,
“I don’t think I’ve ever quite literally taken someone’s breath away!” You giggle, voice oh so sweet.
Bob can’t even let himself feel embarrassed with the way your soft hand feels on his arm.
“I’m so sorry about that,” he cringes.
“Don’t worry about it,” you smile reassuringly.
Nat is growing seemingly agitated by Bob’s lingering near the door so she steers him forwards away from you.
“Best get set up!” She announces, dragging him into the room.
The classroom is spacious, a high ceiling and large windows on the left wall. The wall facing the door is covered in mirrors that amplify the light in the area.
Before Bob can speak up again, two men who look to be in their late 40s rush over towards Natasha. They’re the complete opposite of one another, the first who reaches for Natasha is tanned and has dark curling hair with flecks of grey throughout.
“Natasha! Darling it is so great to see you!” He exclaims with a slight accent, holding her hand in his.
The other has embraced the grey in his hair, he’s relatively pale but has clearly kept his physique, he nods towards Bob with a glint of something in his eye, “I thought he wasn’t your type?”
Nat snorts, clueing Bob in finally on what the two men were hinting at.
“My best friend, boys don’t worry,” she teases.
“Thank God, I’ve been trying to set you up with my niece for how long now?” The dark haired man smiles.
“I know, I’m sorry, I’m always busy at the moment,” she shrugs apologetically before turning back to Bob, “Bob this is Marco and Luke.”
They both shake his hand and size him up as they do so, the grey haired one (Luke) declares.
“He’s cute, Nat, where have you been hiding him?” He prods.
Bob exhales at the approval and watches as Nat breaks out into laughter. “Away from you!”
Marco and Luke break into laughter alongside Nat and Bob can’t help himself but join. Just as they’re all catching their breath, Bob jumps out of his skin again as he feels his hand on his shoulder.
“Boys, we’re being welcoming to our newcomer aren’t we?” You hum.
Your hip is touching Bob’s and the soft skin of your hand on his shoulder has him malfunctioning, luckily he isn’t forced into replying (or choking) this time.
“Of course we are beautiful, what do you think of us?” Marco gasps in faux shock.
“I think that I know what you two are like,” you roll your eyes before making your way to the front of the room.
You send Bob a sly wink before finally beginning, “It’s so great to see you all again!”
Everyone in the room blurts out greetings at you as you begin, “We’ll continue on from last week,” you strut over to the stereo in the corner and a latin pop track floats out into the room and Bob vaguely recognises the tune.
Marco and Luke are quick to start fluidly moving around the floor space and Bob notices that others in the room are doing the same. You make your way quickly over to him and place your hand on the small of his back, straightening his posture.
“I don’t expect you to get it immediately,” you smile into his ear, “we’ll start off with some basics and turn variations.”
Bob hopes you can’t see the nervous perspiration already forming on the back of his neck and nods a little too eagerly at your words. He looks back to Nat for some encouragement but she’s already dancing and chatting with a group of women next to the tall windows.
“I don’t bite,” You giggle, shocking Bob who looks back to see you holding your hand out for him to grab onto.
“Sorry, I’m not the best dancer-” Bob’s self depreciation is swiftly disrupted by you placing his hand on your waist and the other in your own.
“All the more for me to work with,” you smile, and Bob feels himself smiling back.
Although a tad clunky, Bob manages not to step on your toes and has some surprisingly fluid hip movement which intrigues you ever so slightly.
By the last ten minutes of the class, Bob is twirling Marco around as Luke and Nat chat to you about technique.
“What were you nervous about?” Marco probes Bob, “you’re a natural!”
Bob can only chuckle shyly in response and he glances over at your frame. Marco seems to notice Bob’s longing glances and slowly stops their dance.
“Go for it.”
“What?” Bob splutters.
“She’s been making googoo eyes at you the whole time mister, don’t pretend you haven’t noticed.”
Bob reels for a moment at Marcos admission before straightening up. “You think?”
Marco rolls his eyes. “I know.”
Before Bob can reach you you’re already strutting back towards the stereo to lower the volume of the music and gather everyone’s attention.
“Thank you so much everyone! You’ve all been brilliant today and I can’t wait to see you next week!” You beam at everyone.
People begin to gather to chat and start to disperse and you begin to gather your own belongings, stopping to make conversation with others as you do so. Luke and Nat join Bob and Marco with sly smirks on their faces.
“So…” Nat begins, “You’ll be coming back next week I presume?”
Bob flushes at Nat’s knowing look. “Yeah,” he looks to you, “definitely.”
Tumblr media
Bob didn’t mean to let it slip. Like seriously, his lips were so sealed. Air tight.
“But HOW hot are we talking?” Mickey slurs over the nth shot he’d done with Bob at the Hard Deck’s happy hour.
So maybe not air tight.
It was Thursday evening and the rest of the daggers had politely declined drinks with Fanboy, but Bob (the ever dutiful friend) had accepted, hoping to be in and out within the hour. But alas, here they were.
“Fuckin’ smoking,” Bob mimes an explosion with his hands as Mickey nods enthusiastically to his answer.
“I choked on air when I saw her and almost popped a boner during a Justin Timberlake song,” Bob continues to ramble, once given the chance to talk about you he clearly wasn’t going to stop.
“And when is this class?” Mickey slumps closer to Bob, tequila breath hot on his neck.
“Ummmm, Sunday evening at 6 I think?” Bob nods, remembering the details Nat had sent him in a text the week previous.
“Good to know,” Mickey hums, reaching his hand forward to signal for another round, knocking someone’s drink over in the process. “Oops.”
Bob is quick to drag Mickey away from the bar top after that, realising they’d probably overdone it a tad for a weekday evening.
As the cool sea breeze hits Bob’s flushed face whilst him and Mickey wait outside the Hard Deck for their uber, he can’t help but let his mind drift to you, what you were potentially up to, do you teach other classes during the week? Do you dance professionally? God, you definitely could, the way your hips moved-
Bob shook his head, as if to get the image of you stuck in his mind out. He looked to Mickey hanging off of his arm, he was looking to the ground and shaking as if to stave off the imminent vomit that was about to leave his mouth any second now.
“Let’s get you home man,” Bob pats Mickey on the head, dragging him towards their Uber pulling up.
Tumblr media
“Hey, Bob!” Nat yells across the parking lot, catching the back of her friend’s tall frame leant against a pillar near the front of the community center.
When Bob turns around, Nat notices two people next to him who she was not expecting to see.
“Fitch? Fanboy?” Nat cocks her head to the side. “I thought you guys were too busy to come?”
Nat’s accusatory eyes meet Bob’s sheepish expression as he awkwardly clears his throat.
“We heard the teacher was hot as fuck.” Payback shrugs.
Fanboy giggles next to him in excitement, “I’ve been practicing-”
“Bob I swear-” Natasha begins, finger pointing right into Bob’s chest.
“Sup, biatches!” Jake yells, alerting everyone of his and Javy’s presence. “Who’s ready to get their salsa on?”
Nat spins around on her heel, eyes shooting daggers into Jake and Javy.
“Bob, I’m going to kill you.” She states, eerily calm.
“Oh come on Phe! You wanted us here just last week!” Jake exclaims, walking round to slap Bob on the shoulder and greet Payback and Fanboy behind him.
“Yeah! When I wanted you guys to get out and do something productive! Not fuck my lovely salsa teacher, who by the way, was not socialised by wolves! So will absolutely not be charmed by any of you fools!”
With that, Nat turns and walks into the community center, leaving the boys to sprint in after her.
“At least this can’t get any worse,” Nat mutters to herself, pulling the door to your studio open.
Tumblr media
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Nat stills in the doorway, the rest of the boys behind her peeking their heads in.
“What now?” Bob asks guiltily.
Nat opens the door fully and allows the men behind her to file into the studio, where her fellow classmates are stood in a semi circle whooping and hollering at you dancing in the middle with none other than Bradley Bradshaw.
“Fucking Bradshaw,” Jake scoffs, pushing his way ahead whilst checking himself out in the full length mirrors that line the opposite wall of the room.
“Chicken never told us he could dance!” Jake yells over the latin music filling the room, successfully interrupting your dance with Bradley.
Bradley’s head whips to the side at the sound of that familiar ear grating voice. He gives you an apologetic look as he walks over to begin squabbling with a man you presume he knows. The commotion between the boys alerts you to the presence of Natasha and Bob as well as three other unfamiliar men. When Bradley had introduced himself with a smirk and a drawling voice as a friend of Natasha’s you had to wonder whether all of her colleagues were so handsome and by the looks of it, they were.
Nat is quick to walk over to you with an apologetic smile. “I want to apologise in advance for the next hour. They are insufferable.”
You look behind her to where the gaggle of men she calls her close friends are stood, you can see Marco and Luke itching to get their claws in and you have to giggle. This should be interesting.
After instructing the rest of your class to continue practicing the routine you had been working on, you figure it was only fair to come and personally consult your newest joiners.
As the boys (and Nat) notice you wandering towards them, they all begin to elbow each other like school boys giggling amongst themselves. Bob and Nat can only keep their embarrassment internal for so long.
When you come to a stop in front of them, the man you’ve come to learn as Jake smiles dazzlingly and stretches his arms above his head,
“God it is hot in here!” He begins to reach for the bottom of his shirt, aiming to impress you with his toned stomach.
“The A/C is on full blast dumbass.” Nat swats at the back of Jake’s head, causing him to drop his shirt again and rub at his temple. “Ow!”
Snickers fall from Javy and Mickey, who quickly straighten themselves up when they see you casting your eyes over them.
“As I said to Bob last week, with all my new starters I’ll begin with some basics for you guys and then we can ease into a routine,” you smile, heading towards Bradley and Nat.
“Since you two already have some experience you can help me teach!”
Bradley preens under your praise, already assuming the role of teacher’s pet, whilst Nat looks mildly irritated at having to teach her imbecilic friends how to dance.
“Alright guys! let’s partner up!” you shout at them, giggling as they all rush towards you, you note how Bob lingers back behind his more extroverted friends and grin.
“I should clarify, I meant with each other.” You shoo them backwards and watch as they couple up.
Mickey and Reuben clap each other on the back and Javy and Jake nod at one another leaving Bob, stood on his own. You saunter towards him and grab at arm, dragging him to the front with you.
“Looks like you’re with me,” you tease.
“Uh, who do you want me to partner up with?” Bradley scratches at his head obliviously.
You cock your head to the side with a confused laugh.
“I hate you so much right now,” Nat spews, gripping Bradley’s arm and pulling him into position with her.
“Oh, yeah. Right, sorry Nat.” Bradley chuckles.
Your lessons continues with explaining how someone will have to take the lead and the other will follow, and you wander around positioning their hands and postures correctly.
“Javy, you are like a brother to me, but your hands are too fucking low right now.” Jake grits through this teeth.
“Right! Ha, sorry man,” Javy’s hands shoots back up towards the middle of Jake’s back.
Bob is still apprehensive when he places his hands on your waist, but you’re quick to affirm him in his position. Leaning towards him you whisper, “don’t worry you’re still my favourite.”
A smile graces his face at that and he relaxes in your grip.
“Right guys! We’re gonna start with some turns and variations now!”
You quickly learn that trying to wrangle these men is proving difficult, as Payback almost spins Fanboy into a wall after zoning out stating at how your hips moved.
“I’m good bro, don’t worry,” Mickey is quick to readjust himself, hoping the room stops spinning soon.
You can’t help but laugh when Javy attempts to dip Jake to the floor in a move he thought would impress you, but it seems he forgot to account for how tall and heavy Jake is, as he goes toppling down with him.
“Fuck dude! You’re heavy!” Javy groans, rubbing his knee. Jake clearly didn’t take kindly to his words as he shoves back at Javy childishly.
“Boys! Come on get up!” You snap, trying to sound stern but still fighting off giggles.
Jake and Javy are quick to get back on their feet, but you catch them in your peripheral poking and pinching each other when they think you aren’t looking.
Even Bradley who was so light on his feet when he was showing you his moves earlier, is clearly distracted, constantly stepping on Nat’s feet as they practice variations.
“If you step on my toe one more time, Rooster I swear to God, you will not see daylight again,” Nat threatens.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry! She’s just so…” Bradley trails off as he watches you dance slowly with Bob, stopping every now and then to correct him kindly or answer questions from others in your class.
“I know! And you guys are scaring her off by acting crazy.” Nat sighs, moving back as she senses Bradley’s feet heading for her toes again.
“I mean I wouldn’t say crazy…” Bradley scratches the back of his neck.
“Well I walked in to see you spinning her around like you’re a pro on dancing with the stars so maybe you should reevaluate.”
“You think I’m that good?” Bradley smirks to himself.
“Oh shut up,” Nat rolls her eyes and looks back to the rest of her friends around the room.
Payback and Fanboy were continually stumbling around in circles as they each try to catch your eye, pissing off everyone else in the room as they bumped and knocked into others. She caught Marco and Luke’s judgy eyes flicking back and forth between her and her friends and groaned.
Jake and Javy looked either one wrong move away from fucking or fighting, Nat couldn’t really tell.
God this was embarrassing.
Luckily, your voice rings out across the room, interrupting her moping.
“Thank you guys for today! And Thank you to my newcomers!” you gesture to the group of men stumbling over each other and stifle a laugh.
“I’ll see you all next week!”
Your regular attenders start filing out slowly, some coming over to chat and collect their things. You can see Nat trying to drag her friends away out they seem intent on lingering long enough to catch some time alone with you.
“You guys might as well go, she clearly wants me.” Jake shrugs, pulling the front of his shirt up to wipe his face.
Mickey is quick to dispute, “Are you kidding me? I twirled like a ballerina, I’m so in.”
Nat is moments away from body slamming her friends who she once loved when it goes silent around her. She figures you finally made you way over.
“Hey guys, thanks so much for joining today! I’m really sorry I’ve got to get going but um- ”
You pause and sense eyes on you.
“Bob, I was just wondering if I could get your number?” you smile, walking towards him and squeezing his arm. “You know, to talk about how we can improve your technique,” your reasoning clear as day even with your coverup
“Yeah! Yes, of course I mean,” Bob composes himself, taking your phone with shaking hands and typing in his number.
“Great,” you wink, retrieving your phone, “I’ll text you.”
You end with that, sauntering past the group and waving goodbye to Nat with a knowing look.
Everyone seems stunned by your words, but mostly Bob who blinks slowly, seemingly still in shock by your acknowledgement.
Nat finally breaks into laughter, doubling over at the confused faces of her other friends.
“Man!” She shouts through her giggles, “you just cannot make that shit up!”
The grumbles around her don’t even phase her as she goes to pick up her bag and head for the door, a group of downtrodden looking men following her and Bob with a newfound pep in his step.
“By the way Rooster, how come you actually are so good?” Nat asks as they make their way into the parking lot.
Bradley stills, silent as he contemplates answering.
“If I tell you, you have to promise to not go searching for anything.” He looks around at his friends.
Following their nods he continues, “I used to compete professionally, when I was like 13, my mom forced me to.” Bradley cringes at the memory of his tween self in sparkly shirts his mom always hand picked out for him in the most hideous colours.
Bradley looks back up to see Jake grinning mischievously at his phone, and his stomach drops.
“Is this you?” Jake smirks, turning his phone around to show everyone an old video on youtube titled.
SALSA NATIONALS 1999 - BRADSHAW / DONNA SUMMER HOT STUFF
Bob suddenly felt as though his coughing fit over you wasn’t the most embarrassing thing he had to witness anymore.

Lando’s Ballerina (lando x poppy au)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
lando norris x female reader
summary: poppy absolutely loves ballet, and finally her daddy has time to watch her dance
warnings: none very fluffy <3
a/n: i was missing lando and poppy so here we are, i just thought of this idea now🥺
Poppy absolutely loved all things pink, bows, dresses, tutu’s, ballet shoes and stockings you name it, so it was no surprise that she asked you and Lando to take ballet as soon as she was old enough. Of course you both agreed and she had fell in love with it, always excited for her classes, and eager to show you all her moves, there was just one thing wrong.
Lando had yet to see her dance.
He hasn’t intentionally been missing classes, they just always fell on a date he was busy, but today, his schedule was wide open, so he sat happily next to you on the side of the room.
“She’s going to be so happy you’re here my love…”
You squeezed his hand gently as he nodded eagerly, pressing a kiss to your cheek
“I can’t wait to see her dance…can’t believe my little petal is getting so old”
“Lan she’s only 5 baby…”
Sighing dramatically he dropped his head to your shoulder, a small laugh escaping your lips
“That’s so old…”
Rubbing his back soothingly you rolled your eyes in a joking matter
“Well in 7 months we’ll have another little one to be excited about won’t we?”
Sitting up Lando smiled, knowing you’d both just found out you were expecting baby number two, and Poppy was so excited to be a big sister.
“Daddy!!!”
Poppy yelled excitedly seeing her dad, taking off and jumping into his arms, Lando holding her tightly and pressing kisses to her cheek
“Hi my angel, you look so beautiful!!”
She smiled looking at him happily
“You came to see me dance!”
“Of course petal, I’m so excited…”
He put her down and she hugged you tightly, before clapping her hands together
“Daddy i’m wearing all pink look!!” she pointed out, twirling for him while Lando took photos of his precious little girl
“Yes you are Pop! You look perfect”
“Thank you Daddy!!!”
Before she could say anything else, her teacher called her over and she was quick to say bye before running over to where the rest of her class was. When you looked to Lando his eyes were shining and he had a proud smile on his face as he watched his little girl.
He was her biggest fan and he always would be, getting to see Poppy grow and Lando flourish in his role as a father and you never felt luckier. You had the best little family around, and you wouldn’t trade them for the world.
Even if your whole universe was now pink and sparkly.

I love the AYW universe, whenever I get bored I come and choose a random part to read again anyways the newest update was really good, especially the NKOTB mention cause I'm a big fan of them too ❤️
Anyways a thought I had is what if reader shows Eliza NKOTB music at some point just like my mom did with me. I feel like Eddie would pick on reader for being a new kids fan but once Eliza is on the dark side he knows he'll have to put up with it
This reminded me of the home movie of my big sister doing this dance and now I want to find it lol. Also a big thank you to the lovely @lokis-army-77 for helping me when my brain forgot what words were 💕

[As You Wish masterlist]
Tumblr media
The end of May means that Eliza’s dance classes have paused for the summer, but her brothers are still in school, leaving her bored. Dance also helped burn off the three-year-old’s extra energy, which is now dropped in your lap.
After a week of no dance classes, an idea strikes you when Eliza stumbles upon a box from your childhood while playing hide and seek.
“Hmm…” you hum as you walk into your room. “Where, oh, where is my little girl?”
The sound of a box shifting in your closet catches your attention. You smile to yourself and tip toe towards the closet. The shuffling continues as you reach for the doorknob.
Quickly, you yank the door open.
“Gotcha!”
Eliza is sitting in a cardboard box, various CDs and cassettes tumbling out and a couple clutched in her tiny hand. Your daughter grins up at you, her dimples heightening her already high level of cuteness.
“What’s these, Mama?” she asks.
“Let’s see what you’ve got,” you say, sitting down on the floor in front of the box. “Oh, okay. This is music I listened to when I was a kid.”
“Like me?” Eliza asks.
“Mm, more around Luke’s age.”
“Can I hear?”
“Sure, baby,” you say.
You pick up a small stack and start to go through them before one in particular catches your attention.
“Hey, Liza. Want me to teach you a dance?”
Her large brown eyes widen, and she nods so quickly that it looks like her head is about to fly off.
“Yes!”
Tumblr media
“Ugh, thank God I’m home,” Eddie sighs as he steps through the front door.
He kicks off his boots and stretches out the muscles in his lower back.
“Hey, you.” You smile at your husband as you stroll in the room to greet him. He smiles in return when you slip your arms around his neck and press a kiss to his lips. “How was work?”
“Not bad,” Eddie says. “Not as good as this.”
“Dinner is almost ready,” you tell him. “But we have a special performance first.”
“Oh?” Eddie cocks an eyebrow. “Luke want to read some Shakespeare for us?”
You laugh and drop your head to Eddie’s jumpsuit-clad shoulder.
“No, he’s doing his homework. Assured me he didn’t want to be here for this performance.”
“That scares me,” Eddie admits. “What about Ry?”
“He’s out with friends,” you say. “This is just for you. So, go get changed and meet me on the couch.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Eddie yawns as he steps into the living room, scratching his stubbled jaw. He plops down on the couch in one of his old Hellfire shirts from high school and a pair of black sweats that are looking more faded and grayer these days. His mane of hair has been pulled into a ponytail at the base of his neck and all traces of oil or dirt from the day in the garage are gone.
“Thought I was supposed to be entertained,” Eddie says loudly, smiling to himself.
“In a minute!” Eliza shouts back from her bedroom down the hall.
Eddie laughs and stretches his arms out, resting them on the back of the couch.
A few moments later, you come down the hallway and swipe up the remote that controls the stereo. The spot on the couch next to Eddie looks like it’s been waiting for you, so you grab it and cuddle up to his side. Your husband wraps his arm around your shoulders and presses a kiss to the side of your head.
“You smell good,” you murmur to him.
“Used some of your soap,” he replies.
You take another sniff and realize it’s your body wash from Bath and Body Works. A store where Eddie refuses to buy anything, yet always uses what you get.
“Thief,” you tease before sticking your tongue out at him.
“A-hem-hem!”
Eliza is peeking around the corner from the hall and you’re quick to remember your role and nod at her.
“So,” you say, looking back at Eddie. “Have you heard that Eliza will be starting preschool in the fall?”
Eddie’s brow furrows and raises at the same time. It’s a look that says of course I have and where in the hell are you going with this?
“Yes…”
“Well, you know what that will make her?” You aim the remote towards the stereo and press the play button. “A New Kid on the Block.”
Bum-bum bum-bum buh
Bum-bum-bum buh
“Oh God,” Eddie whispers.
A grin splits your face from ear to ear as you snuggle into your husband’s side and watch your daughter emerge into the spotlight of the living room.
You wanted her to look as authentic as possible for the late 80s, but with Eliza’s wardrobe, that mostly meant finding the right hues of pink to put together. It works for her, but even if it didn’t, Eliza would make it work.
First time was a great time
Second time was a blast
Third time I fell in love
Now I hope it lasts
“What did you do to our girl?” Eddie grits out quietly through his teeth as Eliza starts to dance.
“She wanted to listen to some of her mommy’s music,” you say sweetly, laying your head down on your husband’s shoulder. “And she misses her dance class.”
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Eliza puts her hands on the waistband of her neon pink leggings and begins to shuffle her legs from side to side while hopping like the iconic moves from the music video.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
The right stuff
Now, Eliza steps with her left foot and pumps her left hand up towards her right shoulder twice. Then, she switches and goes to the left with her right hand and foot.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
The right stuff
Out of the corner of your eye you see Eddie grin. It makes you pick your head up so you can get a full view of his smile as Eliza bounces along to the beat.
“She gives Joey McIntyre a run for his money,” you whisper.
“I’m going to assume that’s one of the members,” he murmurs back.
You roll your eyes and silently vow to give this whole family a boy band education.
The last chorus is about to start, and Eliza runs up and grabs your hand.
“Come on, Mama!”
With a chuckle, you stand up and join her at the front of the living room. Both of you position your hands at the top of your pants and begin to hop on one foot, bring them back together, then hop on the other.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
The right stuff
Eliza giggles wildly as the two of you do this together. She looks up at you as you dance, her curls bouncing and cheeks pink from the small exertion of energy.
A sort of lightness fills your body, your mind transported back to when you were hardly a preteen and learning this dance for the first time all alone in your room. The fact that you’re now doing it with your daughter in front of your husband makes you nothing short of giddy.
Now, the two of you go on to the next move. Step with foot, pump hand, step, pump, switch. Step, pump, step, pump.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
The right stuff
The song finishes and Eliza bows. Eddie cheers and you clap your hands until Eliza straightens and tries to tug you down in a bow with her. Instead, you give a deep curtsy and bow your head in Eddie’s direction.
“That’s my girls!” Eddie whoops as he claps.
Eliza giggles and runs over to her father, launching herself in his lap. He catches her and lets out an oof.
You take back your previous position at Eddie’s side and Eliza flops down to lay across both of your laps.
“I like that song!” Eliza states.
“Me too.” You poke her belly, and she lets out an airy laugh.
“You like it, Daddy?” Eliza asks.
You raise an eyebrow and smirk at your husband. Eddie can practically read your mind: Go ahead, babe. You’ve made fun of me a thousand times for liking New Kids on the Block, now tell that to your daughter.
Eddie looks down at Eliza before responding.
“I loved your and Mommy’s dance. You’re both very good.”
The dodged question doesn’t even register to the little girl; she’s just happy that her dad enjoyed the dance she learned today.
“Maybe next time we teach Daddy a dance too, huh?” you say.
Eddie whips his head in your direction and narrows his eyes, making you giggle.
“Yes!” Eliza cheers, sitting up. “We’ll find a Daddy dance!”
“We’ll find a really good one,” you add.
“Mama, don’t let me forget tomorrow!”
“Oh, don’t worry,” you assure her. “I won’t.”
Eddie lets out a low growl and leans in to nip at the juncture of your neck and shoulder. You squeal and pull away from him.
“Daddy, no biting!” Eliza chastises.
“What if Mommy likes it?” Eddie responds.
“Don’t be silly, Daddy.” Eliza shakes her head. “Biting is bad.”
“But what if I’ve got…” Eddie pauses and leans so far over you that you’re forced to lay back on the couch cushion with a chuckle. “The right stuff?”
He waggles his eyebrows at you, and you can’t help but roll your eyes, despite being tickled by the dad joke.
Eliza sighs and lays down on top of you, her head resting just above your heart.
“Isn’t Daddy so silly?” she asks you.
You grin up at Eddie as he winks at you.
“The silliest!”

I LOVED THE SMILE HOOK FIC. So can we get more hook x fem reader. Maybe like reader is like Elsa so she has ice powers but is like scared of having friends? Sorry I explained it bad😭
Ice Cold
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Paring: James Hook x Snow Princess Reader
Summary: As a girl, you loved the snow, ice skating, anything cold. However when you grew up — you learned the dangers of your power, and that snapped you out of control. Everyone had seen the incident, and they shunned you.
The cold hearted princess, they called you. Your heart had frozen over. No one could trust you — your own sister was afraid. So alone you became. All because of a mistake of a little girl.
Instead of choosing a side. Villain or hero. You had accepted your role in the shadow. You hadn’t expected for someone to shine the sun on you — thawing out that ice wall you’ve built. Especially not a pirate.
Warnings: Mentions of blood.

Navigation — other works!
Sighing I placed my notebook onto the desk, my glove hands flipping to the next free page.
Merlin’s class had been relatively quiet, for once. There was no singing, no dancing, no fights. This was quite rare, and k had a feeling it wouldn’t last.
Writing my name on the page, I had started to write down all of Merlin’s notes on the board.
The door slammed open and a bunch of Vk’s came in noisy. I knew the silence wouldn’t last.
“Sorry we late teach!” Some kid said with a British accent. I didn’t bother to look up and just continued writing.
“Hades go sit by Maleficent. James you can sit by ms. Y/N.” Footsteps made their way in my direction and the chair beside me was pulled out.
Boots slammed onto the table. I slowly turned my head to him. He was leaning back in his chair one arm behind his head as if he was relaxing.
“Do you mind?” He looked over to me, “not at all lassie. And you can just rip a page out your notebook to write my notes on.” The audacity this man has.
“I’m not doing your work, now get your filthy feet off the table.” I shoved his legs, not really budging him, before making sure it didn’t dirty my gloves.
“Filthy? I bathe quite often thank you very much.” He finally set his feet down, and adjusted his position to the edge of his seat. “Who the hell are you?”
“None of your business, no use that good had of use, and write what’s on the board.” I kept my glare sharp as I gave him a spare pen and paper.
Before he could say anything else I focus back on the board and continued writing.
“We got off on the wrong foot.” Literally. “My name is Captain James Hook. You are?” I looked down to the hand he held out to shake.
No point in being rude, “Y/N, princess of Ariendelle.” I disregarded his hand. Just because I have the gloves on — doesn’t mean I should go acting recklessly.
The hand dropped, and thankfully Hook fell silent the rest of the class. I started to pack up my things, and Hook grabbed my attention when he immediately sat up and went to discuss something with the teacher.
Not your business Y/N. I quietly walked out the class, whatever few people in my way to my next one hurried out of it. Guess they didn’t want to risk getting involved with me.
❄︎
I walked into Merlin’s class expecting the seat next to me to be empty, considered how many other seats were available. However my assumption was wrong as a certain pirate sat with his feet on the table. Just like before.
“Ah Y/N let me talk to you for a second.” The few other people in the class looked to me as Merlin gesture for me to come over to him.
Doing as told I walked in front of his desk. “I really need you to tutor James Hook.” I immediately started to shake my head no. “Listen I don’t like him.” Not true, but I didn’t love him either. I was indifferent about the man — what I wasn’t indifferent about was tutoring someone that will give me attention.!
I liked my little spot in the back, tutoring probably the most popular guy in school sends a direct beam of light onto me.
"Please Y/N. This is the only way to get his grade up. Besides you owe me for giving you that extension." I released an annoyed sigh; great he's cashing in his 'IOU'.
Very well. I turned back around and took my seat, kicking hook's feet off the table in the process. "You're going to need to start bring supplies to school." Was the first command I listed off. I ripped out a paper and gave him a pen. "Now pay attention to the teacher then tell me what you don't understand after the lesson." That was the second command I listed off, and surprisingly he did as told.
❄︎
Over the course of the next three weeks Hook did everything I asked — and his increasing grade was the proof of it.
However tragedy then struck. Book decided to sit at my empty table for lunch — and bring his friends.
I went to walk to a different empty table, but he was quick to jump up and push me down on the bench. This is kidnapping, I’m positive.
“Y/N this is my friends.” I did a little wave, my face void of emotion but annoyance laced in my eyes.
“Hey! I’m Morgie — yk? Son of Morgana.” I gave a nod, I knew who all these people are. Perks of being popular? The whole school knows you.
“So Y/N,” the ‘leader’ of the group spoke. “Any interesting qualities we should know about?”
Oh just some ice powers that i sometimes can’t control and it can do some serious damage to others. And if you were to ask around I’m sure someone from my home land would blab.
“None that I think would interest you.” Uliana gave a small hum.
“I think having powers would interest me, especially if you’re getting involved with hook.”
“Me?” I looked around — ready to deny the claim that was 100% false. “I’m not getting involved with the pirate.”
James did a light gasp and dramatically put his hand over his heart. “I’m hurt darling. I thought we were closer than that your highness.”
So maybe me and Hook made a deal not to mention our backround to each other.
“Just how powerful are you?” The sea witch spoke up again. Causing me to stop the fighting between me and Hook. “That’s my business. Besides — it’s prohibited for me to use them.” I looked away from the eyes on me and over to the pink bubbly princess of hearts.
Everyone liked her, well besides the Vk’s. It was a shame — cause once she makes one mistake, gives once scare to the people there a high chance she’ll be turned away from everyone.
“What? And you follow those rules?” Morgie son of Morgana asked, as if I grown two heads. I smiled at the blonde boy sarcastically.
“When you get in trouble, in fights, break the rules, what does your mother do to you?”
He smiled oblivious. “I get ice cream.” I raised my brow waiting for him to piece things together. After a few seconds of him not getting it, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes.
“Me breaking the rules isn’t worth getting on my parents nerves.” Something Maleficent I know would disagree with.
Her parents were quite like mine, hating her rebellious nature, but she loved the fact that she was a disgrace in her mother’s eye.
“Oh.” He said, now finally getting it. Once I tried to be the perfect daughter to get my parents love, but when that didn’t work I was mean and cruel to them. It didn’t change anything so now I just ignore them till I can’t. They do the same.
❄︎
I started to tie up my laces, ready to skate on the ice. The rink was closed by this late of night, but I had stolen the key and copied me an extra one.
The night crew don’t come until three more hours, leaving me with the perfect alone atmosphere.
Or it was.
A person sat next to me, causing me to look — thinking it was some kind of security. However the person that sat next to me was no other than James Hook.
“What the hell are you following me?” He opened his mouth to answer, but I cute him off with another question. “How the hell you even get in here? The doors are locked.” I looked around — trying to see if anyone else was here.
“Pirate.” Was his answer, as if it was an obvious one. “What are you doing here?” I know for a fact Hook doesn’t care about ice skating.
“Is this what you do in your spare time?” He asked, deflecting the question.
I rolled my eyes, and for a moment I could feel my hands starting to freeze up. I stood up, taking a few steps away from him before I grabbed my gloves on the seat next to me.
There’s a reason I skate alone and it’s cause the cold makes my power grow stronger and haywire.
“You’re shaking. Are you cold?” I shook my head no, but before I could say it he had already wrapped his coat around me.
“I don’t need this. The cold doesn’t bothe—“ I cut myself off based on the look he gave me. I felt myself release a shaky breath, trying to step away from him, making sure not to fall in these skates.
It didn’t matter though because every step back I took, he took a step forward. “You’re jumpy today.” He commented. “Yeah, you’re kinda in my zone.” It reply was immediate and my tone was snarky.
“What’s the matter?” For the first time in a long time it had actually felt like I had been seen. Not looked at, not glared at, but seen. Like he had actually seen me in this moment and not the facade I put on.
“It’s best you leave me alone Hook.” I slightly pushed his chest away, and when I went to pull my hand back he caught it in his. Keeping it pushed up against his chest.
“Why?” Because despite what people think I’m not a monster and I don’t want to see you get hurt.
“I don’t do friends.” That was true, it was best for everyone. It was best I be alone.
“I’m not looking to be your friend.” My hands started to shake, and I felt hurt. It had been a while since I’ve felt that. Someone not wanting to be my friend. Being hurt someone didn’t want to be around me.
“Ask me what I want.” I tried to pull my hand back once again, feeling my hands start to form mist. However he still didn’t let go.
“Ask me what I want.” He repeated. My breath hitched as my nerves spiked. “What do you want?”
“I want to be more than your friend.”
I shook my head, not wanting to believe what he said. He couldn’t want that, he shouldn’t.
“You don’t mean that.”
“I do.”
All I’ve ever wanted was someone I could lean on, but I learned at a very young age that the only pillar in my life is one made of ice.
“Go back to the dorms Hook.” I finally got my hand free and skated across the ice, away from him.
❄︎
You had expected Hook to leave you alone after you rejected him. However that just drove him more.
Since that night, any chance he has he’ll try to talk to you, give you gifts he definitely stole, and always flirt.
Flirting was second nature to the pirate, but that was nothing compared to the way he took it with you. It was quite known to the whole school, that you had Hook wrapped around your finger.
The more Hook got to know you, the more he vowed to do whatever to make you happy. He was falling, but he was desperate to drag you down with him.
❄︎
You had watched the ice rink, empty. Tonight you made no effort to get on the ice. Tonight you were alone, and you hated it.
Out of a moment of weakness you called Hook and asked him to come to you. He did so without question, and as fast as he could.
So you watched the Ice rink, with him, in silence. He hadn’t asked you what was wrong — he knew you need to be with someone, not interrogated by them.
“When I was a little girl my parents and sister had loved my magic.” It was the first thing said, and Hook let you get everything off your chest.
“One time this duke had came to our home. I had asked to leave me alone, but he kept prying and prying, making me uncomfortable.”
“Out of self defense or more really it was an accident, I had used my powers to move him away. It was an accident.” Your voice broke.
“He had turned to solid ice, there was no covering up what happened. The whole kingdom knew by the next morning. That very night my father and mother had called me a monster and took me to the magic rock trolls.”
“I was given gloves to help control my magic. It didn’t matter how good I was, or how much I tried to redeem myself. They looked at me like I was a murder, and I guess I was.”
“I’m a villain, Hook.” You finally looked at him, tears dropping down your face. “And villains don’t get happy endings. It’s the first thing you learn.”
He was quiet, and then you knew you screwed up — you scared away the one person who had not made you lonely.
You looked away from him and back to the ice. For a second you were to caught up in your thoughts to feel him remove your glove. But when the air hit you, you immediately panicked — trying to grab it back.
“Hook, give it to me.” You looked to him scared, scared for him.
He kept quiet as he slid his palm against yours, wrapping his fingers around your freezing one’s. Your hands were so cold and getting colder by the second.
You tired to remove your hand but he tightened his grip. You could give him frost bite and he would never remove himself from you.
“I already have a happy ending. Love.” You looked at him crazy. “Love? Love doesn’t exist.”
“Maybe I can teach you.” You went to pull your hand away once again but instead he pulled you to him, over the seats.
His lips shut yours up. His lips were so soft, and delicate. He kissed you with experience, but an emotion that felt similar to the one building in your chest. One that made you feel warm, a feeling that consumed you, that demanded James Hook.
He pulled away slightly, his lips still brushing against yours, and his breath fanning your face.
“You say villains can’t get happy endings, but you’re my happy ending. Let me share that with you.”
Maybe, just maybe you didn’t half to be alone. Because even if you said no, Hook would always be with you. If not in person that in that ice cold heart that is starting to melt.
Your hands warmed slightly, and Hook knew you were his endgame. You were his once upon a time. You were his — as much as he was yours.
A/N: this feels short, but I’m sorry I got to it so late! I hope you enjoyed it.

Career Day | Jake seresin x Shy!Wifey
Opposites Attract Masterlist | Main Masterlist
Tumblr media
synopsis: It's Career Day at Alex's school and a special guest is missing
word count: 1.3k
warnings: none, I actually wrote pure fluff for once
Tumblr media
It was strange for Alex to be quiet on the way to school. Usually, he was talking her ear off as Y/N drove the five minutes to his school. Alex was always excited about going to school, which helped settle some of Y/N’s nerves. He was so much like his mother, shy as can be. Jake’s father had made some comment about Alex’s shyness and Y/N had grown worried about her son’s development. She worried that he was going to get bullied, or teased at school, making his anxiety and shyness worse. But Alex was a bright, blooming kid who had tons of kids. His teacher even said he was a very popular kid.
But this morning, her little “mister popularity” (as Jake calls him) was looking out the window with a frown on his face.
"What's wrong, baby?" Y/N asked, looking in the rearview mirror as she pulled up to his school. His blonde hair was pushed back out of his face, he chose his blue glasses today to match his uniform shirt. Alex sighed and looked over at the other side of the car, where his baby sister Ella was happily playing with a stuffed rabbit.
"I'm just not happy about school," He pouted, placing one of his small fingers in Ella’s hand.
"Why? Did something happen?"
Alex shook his head and sighed, "It's career day. Jennah is bringing her mom, and Ezra is bringing his mom and dad, but my dad isn't here."
Y/N looked at her son, his large green eyes which resembled his father's, held sadness in them. Her heart broke seeing him sad like this. It had taken some getting used to having Jake gone. It was his first deployment in nearly two years since Ella had been born. Jake hated leaving, he hated it even more now that he had children waiting for him at home. Alex liked having just his mom around sometimes. She always baked cookies and let him have at least one before bed. She also bought him a new toy whenever Dad would leave. It all seemed well to begin with, but it always turned sour after the first phone call.
Alex had been hysterical after that very first call. It broke Jake’s heart to pieces hearing his young boy so upset and hearing his wife trying to calm him down, worried that he would pass out. It took Y/N nearly an hour to get Alex to calm down, and he slept horribly that night. After that, Y/N noticed the small changes in her son. The not wanting to play with his toys, or draw pictures. Not wanting to go play with Jennah Machado, or to go to dance class. And now, not even wanting to go to school.
"I know it sucks not having Daddy here, but lovebug, you could’ve invited me," Y/N said and Alex frowned.
"You’re not as cool as daddy,"
Y/N chuckled at her son’s comment, but it was true. No one could be quite as cool as the Naval aviator in the family. When she reached her turn in the drop-off line, she parked the car and smiled as his teacher opened his door and helped him out of his booster seat.
"Hey, Alex," Y/N called out to her son.
"Yes, mommy?" Alex said.
"Try and smile today, for your daddy, okay?" Y/N told him and Alex nodded enthusiastically, "Bye Alex, I love you, have a good day."
"Bye momma, I love you!" Alex said as he closed the car door and then ran off with his friends out in the quad of the school. Y/N waved as she saw Jennah running around.
Y/N sighed and put her car in drive and looked back in the rearview mirror, seeing her daughter stare at the mirror above her seat with wide eyes. Ella looked the most like Jake out of her and Alex. Her hair was almost bleach blonde, her eyes electric green. She also had his sass, and she was only two.
“Are you ready to go pick up our surprise?” Y/N asked.
“Da!” Ella exclaimed, throwing her toy across the car.
“Yep,” Y/N smiled, “Da.”
Instead of driving home and getting ready for work like Y/N usually did after dropping Alex off, she drove to the airport. She parked the car, and got Ella out, before walking into the airport. Y/N watched people walk down the escalator, suitcases and bags in their hands. Y/N scanned their faces until she saw those familiar green eyes. Y/N smiled and held Ella a bit tighter in her arms.
“Ella, who is that,” Y/N said in a happy voice. She crouched down and put her daughter’s feet on the floor, “Who is that, Ella!?”
“Da!” The little girl yelled, reaching her arms out as he walked up to her, a bright smile on his face. He scooped up the girl in his arms, kissing all over her face, making her squeal.
"Sweets," He said greeting you with a kiss, “Does he know?” Y/N shook her head and he kissed her again.
"No clue. Now come on, you gotta get ready to surprise a very unsuspecting little boy."
--- --- ---
The moment Alex had been dreading finally came. Mrs. Andrews announced that career day was finally starting, as the parents and guardians of kids came flooding into the classroom. Alex tried his best to pay attention and not cry as his classmates introduced their parents. Val frowned seeing her godson look out the window and not at the front of the class. Each kid had to present something, and Alex looked down at the pair of wings he had taken from his dad’s desk this morning.
"Alright next up, Alex Seresin." Mrs. Andrews said. Alex sighed and pushed himself up from his desk, holding the wings in his hand and walking to the front of the class.
He stood shyly, holding the wings to his chest, and looking down at his white vans. He took a deep breath, remembering what Y/N had told him, to smile. He looked up at his class, seeing all their eyes on him, the panic starting to rise in his little body. Val could see the look in his eyes from the back of the classroom, and she waved a bit, getting his attention. He looked up at her, and Val gave him a smile and a thumbs up and mouthed ‘you got this’.
Alex nodded, and took his hand away from his chest, holding out the gold wings, “These are my daddy’s wings. He’s a Naval-”
"Hey, sorry I'm late," Jake said, walking in the door, still clad in his khaki uniform.
"Daddy!" Alex yelled, dropping the wings and running over to him. Jake picked him up in his arms and held him tightly, "How did you know?!"
"Momma told me. I wasn't about to miss career day."
“Are you home for good?”
"I’m home for good," Jake said and sat his feet back down on the ground. Alex grabbed his hand and pulled him to the front of the class.
"This is my dad,” Alex said looking up at him, “He’s in the Navy, and my hero.”
Jake smiled at his son, before looking at the class of wide-eyed first graders. He saw a hand in the back shoot up into the air and he pointed at the little girl with blue bows in her hair.
“Are you a sailor?” She asked and Y/N couldn’t help but chuckle and look at her husband. She knew his eye was probably twitching as he hated it when people asked if he was a ‘sailor’.
“I’m a Naval Aviator,” Jake responded, “And the best one at that. Let me tell you a story of the time I saved my best friend and commander from the enemy.”

— 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐇 [𝐬𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐬]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
˗ˏˋ unholy thoughts start to cloud your mind and father michaelis takes the matter into his own hands ˎˊ˗
⤷ a/n : this was another fic I already had on my drafts, now that my summer vacation started I finally can go back to my creative self and write more so stay tuned :) hope you enjoy my unholy thoughts
⤷ contains : nun! reader x priest! sebastian, nsfw, religious themes, someone gets slapped [wc: 2.4k]
⤷ now playing : monochrome kiss by SID
A wind of monochrome blows
Through our colorless encounter
I shall entrust my pain in its entirety to you
Painfully delineating my old scars,
The merciless autumn has arrived,
And it entices me with its cold fingers
The faint morning sun reflects through the stained glasses of the countless church windows, like colorful spots dancing on the cold stone floor. As usual I woke up, ate breakfast with the sisters of the convent and together we did our morning prayers. After this shared moment, they all start their daily duties but I like to stay a little bit longer and enjoy the vast silence and peace of the house of God. My eyes were closed and my lips soundlessly moved as I recited my prayers alone, however the air seemed to change and I could now feel an eerie presence watching over me, still when I looked around no one could be seen. Out of a wooden door comes the priest of our church – Father Sebastian Michaelis – his piercing eyes fall on my figure and I feel the heat taking over my face, anyway I shake off any intrusive thoughts and promptly head to my morning activities. With imponent arches towering above me I walk down the corridor on my way to a class of little kids waiting for me, yet the feeling of ominous eyes still lingers on the nape of my neck with every step I take.
I am like a burdensome piece of ice
That has just melted into a puddle
You scoop me up gently
and fondle me playfully with your lip
After dinner everyone went back to their rooms, candles were extinguished one by one and the white stone walls now reflected the bright moonlight. A few candles still dance upon my table and cast shadows on the walls as I write about my daily thoughts and feelings in my diary. Lately a dark desire clouds over my mind and stains my soul each second it passes, day by day this unknown sensation seems to take over my heart. Countless prayers, thousands of words written every night, endless hours of work, it was worthless paying attention to any other thing for even after doing everything to stop this feeling my mind still wanders back to him… Father Michaelis. Unaware of the sin that crawls under my skin, I recall the many moments that in the middle of the Sunday worship his words would slowly fade away and a tingling feeling would spread over my core. I shivered and writtled while kneeling on the ground, praying for the sisters to not notice my trembling figure as unholy thoughts flooded over and dirty images got imprinted inside my brain. Every night my mind wanders off to those moments and haunts me in my deepest longings, once again my fingers travel under my nightgown and caress away the desire under my skin. Shrouded by the shadows of the night I can only hope that the all-seeing holy eyes don't watch over me this time.
Nevertheless, I search for a single drop of love
I look into your eyes that have never once cried,
They tell a tale beyond time
If I could, I'd like to be shrouded in this pain and simply let things end
Hiding within the night,
We have covered up our pale skin under the moonlight
On this gloomy autumn morning, I was once again dealing with my hauntings on my lonesome prayers. The other sisters were already out doing their daily chores, however I still could hear some young novices gossiping on a secluded corner of the church, there wasn't many people around, actually we were the only ones there so some snippets of what they were so heatedly talking about made it over my ears "... he's so hot for a priest…" a choir of quiet giggles echoed in the air "... isn't saying those things kind of a sin?" the giggles got louder and so did my hammering heart "... I'm certain God would understand me since he made Father Michaelis so fine like that. Don't you imagine what's under his pants?". That's enough. Anger boiled inside me, my short breathing got louder and louder as a dark presence took over my body and unconsciously directed me to the group of novices. "Aren't you ashamed of saying such things inside the house of God?" I blustered and the three whispering girls turned over to me with surprised faces, the one seeming to be the oldest lifted her chin "Why? Are you jealous that I can say those things while you are trapped in that Virgin Mary thinking?". Anger traveled through every inch of my flesh, my mind went blank and I could only hear a loud snap echoing through all the church halls, followed by a stinging sensation on the palm of my hand. The girl was crying and clutching her reddened face, the other two ran off, probably to snitch to some higher nun what just happened, as for me, I walked away feeling as light as the white feathers of the Holy Spirit.
Many nights have passed since then,
And my love for you only grew stronger
In the sea of obsessive dependency,
I have forgotten even to breathe
I heard a knock on the door of my room and went to open it, another young novice was standing there with scared eyes "The-they sent me here to say that Father Michaelis wants to meet you at the confessional" I looked at her shivering figure and questioned myself if she was scared that I was just gonna slap her for delivering the message "If that's all than you can go, tell whatever nun that sent you that I'm already on my way" the girl shook her head and ran down the corridor, with a guiltless mind I went the opposite way thinking about what could I possibly tell him to clear this situation. As I arrived at the stall and closed the door behind me a deep voice broke away the silence "Hello sister, please tell me what afflicts your soul. May God, who has enlightened every heart, help you to know your sins and trust in His mercy". Shivers went down my spine as my once steady hands made the sign of the cross "Bless me Father for I have sinned. It has been" a sigh escapes my mouth "... three years since my last confession. These are my sins." I gave a pause after saying that and considered lying about what happened to spare myself and the girl of a lecture later, yet something told me to say the whole truth "I felt anger… so much anger… lately I feel like all kinds of sins are taking over me. It seems harder and harder to concentrate and feel at peace" words unconsciously dripped through my tongue "What did the girl say to make you so angry?" with nervous hands I crumpled my habit "That she had impure thoughts about you sir". That dreadful silence seemed to last countless hours "Did you want to punish her for thinking that way?" words got stuck on my throat "... I-I was jealous of her'' a satisfied hum traveled through the division of the stall. "I don't know… it felt like something was crawling under my flesh… anger, greed, envy perhaps" an expectant silence floated in the air "Aren't you forgetting another sin, child?" I could hear the grin on his lips as he waited for my reply "... Lust?" I hope he can't hear the deafening sound of my heart bursting through my ribcage "And how often do you feel it?" "Everyday". Even though the stall was secluded and closed it still felt like a thousand eyes were pointed at me, piercing through my raw flesh, specially those I felt behind my neck lately "Well, I think that's all I need to know for now" his voice seemed different but still I continued "I am sorry for these and all of my sins" he hums again "Why don't we go to my office? So we can talk about this more thoroughly".
While I'm captivated by your gaze,
You've left behind only some dull warmth
I despise your habit of quitting at your convenience
As well as your arrogant kiss
The path to his office was dead silent and every sister that passed through us either looked away or whispered something to their friends. As we arrived he politely motioned for me to enter and sit on the chair in front of his table, as I sat over a faint click on the door could be heard, I turned to him and met his ever unreadable eyes and mysterious grin "We don't want those nosy eyes bothering our talk, do we?". He sighed deeply and sat in front of me "This situation is not much like you sister" my eyes fell to the ground while he gazed out of the window continuing "I remember when you were just a novice. Such a pure heart… yet so aware of the evils of the world". Silence reigned over his office and I said with a quiet voice "You still didn't give me a penance sir" his grin grew wider letting out a chuckle "Don't worry about that child" he stood up and calmly walked behind me "I don't believe you're entirely wrong. All these things might be considered sins in the eyes of God, but I preach that for one to spread virtue must first know sin to warn other pure hearts of the evils of the world'' his slender fingers traveled along my shoulders and up to the nape of my neck. "Don't you want to protect your precious students from what's out there? For this you must feel sin on your own skin" he whispered over my ear and the tingling sensation on my core starts to spread through my body once again "Go to your room and pray ten Hail Marys. By midnight I will visit you so we can finish your penance" my breathing gets hitched and I crumple even more my already messy habit "Why don't you do it now?" he chuckles "Patience is one of the virtues you need to start working on, now go child". I lift from my seat and walk over to the door "It's locked…" he hums and unlocks it while gently trailing his finger along my chin whispering "Well forgive me sister, sometimes I too can give in to dangerous desires" with those words echoing inside I return eagerly to my room.
Don't leave me alone
Please understand me and stain me with bright blood
No matter what I say,
My words will only slip right through your room
I'm already disarrayed and falling asleep,
So won't you teach me something else?
Only the moon is looking at my sighs lost in your smiling inquiries
Hours passed and the moon was already high in the sky, I paced around the room thinking about what could possibly happen in the next few minutes. A knock was heard on the door, standing before me under dim light was Father Michaelis and his gaze that as always seemed to reflect every uncertain thought I had. I greeted and welcomed him inside which he calmly did "Did you pray the ten Hail Marys I asked you to?" I shook my head and he sent me a kind smile "Then let's begin your penance. Please take off your habit" my eyes widened and I felt my face heating up. "Why the surprise? I told you before that I believe you need to experience sin to finally be enlightened by virtue. I as your holy representative will help you on this task, or did you already take the matter into your own hands before I came here?" involuntarily my thighs clenched over and he cooed "What a dirty girl. Seems that the matter is worse than I thought, perhaps your penance will be a bit rougher then". He helped me undo the buttons of my habit, feeling the fabric slide down my body I then lay on the mattress while he also takes off his clothes and hovers over me with his bare body "The only thing I ask is for you to recite the Prayer of the Penitent and when you finish it… everything will be over" I shook my head and started it.
Once the clock's arms point straight into the ceiling,
You will no longer be with me,
For I will no longer be needed
"My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart" his warm hands gently traced the sides of my body while moist lips sucked the skin on my neck "In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good" the hot breathing on my flesh sent goosebumps all over it. "I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things" slender finger traveled down to my core and caressed my soaked folds "I firmly intend, with your help to do penance" as he slowly inserted himself inside me I could feel his length filling up empty spaces I never believed to have. "To sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin" with a rhythmic pace and synchronized breathings he opened up my raw heart to the holy sight "Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us" we clingged on each other, shivers went through our bodies as sin dripped over and mixed up with our overflowing fluids "In His name, my God, have mercy". He did the Prayer of Absolution and finished it over with a deep moan "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good" even breathless I still manage to continue it "His mercy endures forever" and with a faint sigh he ends our blessing "The Lord has freed you from your sins. Go in peace". Cloaked by the shadows our intertwined bodies finally sink deep into the stained mattress, with a worn down feeling I can feel my eyes closing and my lightened mind slowly drifting away. His lukewarm hands trail unknown patterns on my back as his fading voice travels through my slumber "Such a pure soul stained by sin… Can't wait to feel your luscious raw taste entirely inside me. This penance isn't over my darling".
Nevertheless, I search for a single drop of love
I look into your eyes that have never once cried,
They tell a tale beyond time
If I could, I'd like to be shrouded in this pain and simply let things end
My wish echoes hollowly,
While the night still brings in the dawn
With your tender, passionate, yet shamelessly sly kiss,
Please stain me, in this moonlit final night of demise

can you keep a secret?
Tumblr media
author’s note: the request to this fic can be found here.
synopsis: you and cheol have been dating secretly, but can you keep it that way?
word count: 0.8k | genre: fluff, humour/crack, a bit of angst | pairing: seungcheol x f! reader | warnings: mentions of knives and crime (nothing happens), cursing
“are you ready for the netflix marathon, baby?” seungcheol asked you when you entered the bedroom; he was already in bed under the covers, waiting for you to come home from classes. it was rare for you guys to have time to spend together as cheol was always busy with his dance practices and preparing for comebacks all the time, and you had to finish your degree in college, so this was a special occasion. your brother had been away due to a trip with his friends, well, except cheol who told him that he couldn’t make it due to being sick, so you could have the house all to yourselves. cheol was your brother’s best friend and your boyfriend of six months. there was only one problem; your brother didn’t know about your relationship. you had always preferred keeping the things going on in your love life private, but since you became a couple with cheol you had been extra careful, as your brother was rather the protective type and you were sure that if he found out you had been together with one of his best friends he would’ve freaked out. “yes babe, i am coming, just give me a moment to change.” you told him, already taking off your sweather. he looked at you with a smirk, trying not to stare with heart eyes when you heard a familiar voice from the end of the hall. “guess who is back early-“ your brother shouted, his footsteps getting closer and closer to you, making you go wide-eyed, not to mention seungcheol who was speechlessly sitting like a statue, the laptop he had been holding almost dropping out of bed in the process. “oh shit! cheol move! get up, hurry, hurry!” you whisper shouted, slammig the door at the same time so he couldn’t see your very much secret boyfriend being there. “baby, maybe it is time to tell him-“ he wanted to protest. “no! do you want him to stab you with a kitchen knife, hm?!” you scolded him, grabbing his arm to drag him out of bed. “to the closet! right now!” you smacked him, opening the doors, pushing him into it, then closing it. “are you serious? it is so dark in here! i am not built to be hiding in a small place like this.” he whined from inside. “shut up or no cuddles and kisses for a month, choi seungcheol! understood?” you demanded, just in time for your brother to reach your doorstep, knocking.
“y/n, what is going on in there? i heard you talking to someone. are you hiding something from me?” he questioned “i am coming in!” the sound of the handle turning hit your ears and you whipped your head away from the closet just in time of his entrance. “oh hi! i didn’t hear you, i was talking on the phone.” you said with a smile on your face. “then why is your phone not in your hands?” he questioned, not really believing you. “uhh…well i-“ his eyes went wider, storming to the bed. “who’s is this?” he pulled seungcheol’s sweather out from under the covers. “shit.” you cursed under your breath, knowing you couldn’t get away. “it is-“ “fuck!” you heard another voice curse, and you knew it before you turned around; cheol accidentally fell, making the closet door open, and falling to the ground with a thud. “i knew it! are you kidding me seungcheol? with my sister?” your brother yelled at both of you, raging with anger. “look we can explain.” you tried to fix the situation, but it was clearly not effective as your brother was looking at seungcheol like he wanted to commit a crime. “we should’ve told you earlier, we just didn’t know how.” cheol started “because we knew you would react like this.” and you continued the explanation. “because he is my best friend! you are not supposed to be dating each other!” he held his head in his hands, still in shock. “says who? you? look, i am old enough to decide, don’t you think? so don’t go screaming at my boyfriend!” you exclaimed, raising your voice in frustration. seungcheol stepped beside you, whispering sweet nothings in your ear to calm you down, kissing your cheeks. “i know you worry about your little sister dating a bad person, but you know me, i will take care of her, okay? so please, just talk this out, i know it is a lot to take in.” cheol approached him cautiously. your brother sighed and looked at you, his anger seemingly starting to fade. “it is, seungcheol. but i know you are a good guy, if you weren’t you wouldn’t be my best friend. next time don’t go sneaking around behind my back though, okay?”

I Swear That I Don't Have A Gun
You grew up in Ohio with your father, brother, and sister. Your family was small and strange. Because of that, you were picked on relentlessly at school. Until another weird kid showed up. Her family moved in across the street from you. It wasn't long until the two of you became friends. Your friendship became the light in your life. Until it ended suddenly. Rumors followed your friend's disappearance. Russian spies. You didn't see her again until you crossed paths at work.

Chapter Two: Flower In A Hailstorm
Mount Vernon, Ohio – 1992
Your black backpack bounced lightly against your back as you followed a couple paces behind your brother and sister. The morning was bright and warm. The neighborhood was a quiet bustle of activity. Garages opening. Cars pulling out of driveways to begin another commute to work. Other kids trickled out of quiet homes on their way to school.
When you had walked two blocks, your brother swung his navy blue backpack around until it hung off his shoulder in front of him. He unzipped his bag and looked at your older sister. His hand disappeared into his bag.
“Do you think Sadie will go to the Homecoming dance with me?” he asked your sister.
Your sister shrugged. “Depends. Is she desperate?”
“Ha ha. Very funny,” your brother said as your sister smirked. He pulled out a shiny, wrapped foil of pop tarts. “I’m serious. Do you know if anyone else has asked her?” He opened the foil and pulled out one pop tart. He turned and handed it out towards you. You smiled and hurried to catch up to them. You took the pop tart and immediately bit into it. The sweet taste of blueberry jam and hard surgery icing filled your mouth.
Your brother pulled the second pop tart out of the foil, broke it in half, and handed one piece to your sister.
She took her half. “How would I know?” She took a bite of her piece of pop tart.
“Because you’re in the same History class,” your brother replied.
“That doesn’t mean I talk to her,” your sister said before taking another bite.
You ate your blueberry pop tart while listening to your siblings talk about Sadie and the Homecoming dance. You didn’t chime in with any advice. You didn’t know who Sadie was. Most likely a girl in high school like your siblings. But it was fun to listen to them discuss the likelihood of your brother getting a date with this girl. By the time you reached your school, your sister had settled on the theory that Sadie would most likely agree to the date if every other boy in the school dropped dead.
Your siblings wished you a successful day before you parted ways. You walked your usual route into your school and through the busy hallways. Clusters of students clung to the long, noisy hallways. Their stares were all too familiar. Strange looks. Hushed questions that weren’t so quiet that you couldn’t overhear. No kid dared to leave their pack of friends to go near you. Despite the plain, ordinary clothes you wore, you also wore the stories of your father.
He was the random, misplaced red thread in a blanket of black. He stood opposed to the currents of the town. His beliefs were rooted securely in what many brushed aside as fantasies. He kept himself fairly busy within the confines of your home, but whenever fate drew him into the public an odd story would follow. One neighbor once saw your father out in a field, attempting to contact aliens. Another found him in their yard digging a hole to a secret bunker. There were countless stories, and they followed you wherever you went. You were his, and so, you must be strange too. It didn’t help that you rarely ever acted like the other kids. It was not intentional. If you could understand how to act like them, you would. But you didn’t. So every day you spent in this school, you spent it alone. Surrounded by strangers. Constantly feeling their judgmental stares digging into your back. Hearing the whispered rumors about you and your family.
When you reached your classroom, you went over to your desk at the far back side of the room. Your desk was positioned an extra foot off to the left as if the group of desks had just decided to push yours just a bit further away. You put away your belongings into your desk, hung your backpack on the back of your chair, sat down, and waited for the school day to begin.
You had your notebook open and you practiced your handwriting as the other students all filed in. Your whole family was in agreement that your handwriting was truly horrible. You needed to fix that, but you frowned at your latest attempts. All barely legible. Your disappointment lingered as the teacher called for the class’s attention. When you lifted your head up, every ounce of disappointment and every thought regarding your terrible handwriting vanished at the sight of her.
The girl with the blue hair.
“Class,” your teacher began. “This is Nat. She just moved here and will be joining our class. Let’s give her a warm welcome.”
As the rest of the class released a chorus of hellos, you sat silently, transfixed. The first, loudest thought in your mind was a simple question: how did she have blue hair? It was so cool. It reminded you of one of the characters out of your sister’s books. The ones she would tell you about right before bed. The second thought was that she was pretty. You couldn’t come up with a good comparison or truly unravel that thought completely. You just knew when you looked at her that she was really pretty. You liked that.
The teacher gestured to the empty desk closest to yours. Quietly, she crossed the length of the room and sat down at the empty desk. You watched as she pulled a notebook from her backpack before setting her bag down. Then, she looked over towards you. You felt your whole body tense up under her gaze. You didn’t know what to say. You wanted to blurt out the loudest thought in your head, but your mouth stayed shut tight.
“Hi.” Her greeting was soft and quiet.
You blinked and your mouth opened. “Hi.” When you felt the first sting of awkward tension, you looked away and back down at your notebook.
The morning creeped by rather uneventfully. Every so often you would look over at Nat who would be busy writing down notes like the rest of the class. You wondered if she recognized you from the other day. Whenever your attention was on your bad note taking, it would often break off and wonder about how to start a normal conversation with Nat. You had never been in such a weird position before. Wanting a connection instead of accepting the natural recoil. You hadn’t come up with any solid strategies by the time the lunch bell rang.
You pulled your brown bagged lunch from your backpack and followed your class down to the cafeteria. You lost sight of Nat during the shuffling of students, so you took your seat at your usual spot at the end of one of the long, blue-gray cafeteria tables. You opened up your brown bag and pulled out your aluminum foil wrapped sandwich. It was the only thing your father had packed for you. You unwrapped the foil. Your brow furrowed when you didn’t see any meat, or cheese, or anything poking out from between the twin slices of white bread. In fact, there was nothing at all between the slices. Just two slices of bread sitting one on top of the other.
You heard hushed giggles coming from further down the table. You looked over just as a few of your laughing classmates quickly looked away. Usually, this didn’t bother you. You were used to this. But you couldn’t deny the hurt starting to creep in. You wanted to say something. Do something. Anything to let out–
Someone sat down next to you. Whatever had started to build inside you washed away at the sight of her again. She started to open up her own bag, but stopped when she noticed the two slices of bread posing as a sandwich.
Her green eyes shifted to you. “Is that your lunch?”
“Uh,” was the first word out of your mouth before you looked down at the bread slices and then back up to Nat. “Yes. It’s my sandwich.”
“Where’s all the stuff in between?” she asked.
“I think my father forgot it,” you answered.
She reached into her bag and pulled out a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It was already cut in half. “Here.” She offered one half of her sandwich to you.
You looked from her, to the offered half, and then back to her. “Are you sure?” When she nodded, you took it. You immediately took a big bite. The creamy taste of peanut butter brought a smile to your lips. “Thanks.”
Nat smiled and took a bite of her half of the sandwich. “What’s your name?”
You swallowed your second bite. “Y/N.”
“I think you live across the street from me,” Nat said.
Your smile grew tenfold and you nodded.
This seemed to amuse her as she chewed on another bite of her sandwich. “I remember you.”
“Me too,” you replied. “I like your hair.”
“Thanks,” she smiled.
Your conversation carried through your lunch. It was the first time your lunch had been more than just daydreaming between bites of food. You found yourself eagerly engaged in the bits and pieces that Nat shared about herself. You noticed that whenever you shared anything about yourself, she listened attentively without any judgment. You liked the sound of her voice. Whatever connection you had found felt strange and weird. But warm. And happy.
When lunch was over, you both walked back to class together. You were sad when you took your seats at your desks and returned to your lessons. You already missed this new piece of your life. You just wanted to sit and keep talking to Nat. You strangely got your wish when your teacher instructed the class to pair up for a project. As the rest of the class paired up like normal, Nat looked over towards you.
“Want to be partners?” she asked.
When you nodded, she maneuvered her desk to sit a bit closer to yours. Now both of your desks sat further away from the others. You had never conceived that such a day like this would come to pass. Yet here it was, and you couldn’t be happier.
Somewhere Else – 2010
The burn of the cold mountain air is the only chill you feel as you lift the axe above your head. The muscles in your back protest for the umpteenth time. It’s only been a week since the Amsterham job, and your body is still recovering from the aftermath. Being thrown across a lobby into a pillar wasn’t particularly fun. It wasn’t the worst abuse your body has been through. Barely a fraction of it. But it still sucked.
You bring the axe down onto the log in front of you. The sharp, curved blade cuts deep into the wood. The smell of pine needles carries on the wind as you yank the axe free from the log. Your bright red plaid shirt clings to your sweaty skin. Your hair is tied back in a messy, low ponytail as you lift the axe back into the air. Dark green cargo pants with the ends tucked into tan boots covers your legs.
You hadn’t intended to dress up like a lumberjack. You had thrown on your clothes after waking up with a sore back, stared at yourself in the mirror, and wondered what she was doing right now. You had slipped out of Amsterdam without issue. The media had covered the incident with varying degrees of accuracy. There were mentions of charred remains, but no mention of you. Or her. The two days it had taken you to travel to this little piece of woodland paradise had been spent looking over your shoulder. Waiting for her to catch up with you.
The disappointment you felt upon reaching this place in one piece was a real mood killer. The fun was over, and now you were just left with yourself. You needed to do something. So, here you were with an axe in hand chopping up firewood. But your thoughts still linger on her. You wonder if she’ll ever find you here. You certainly hadn’t left any clues behind.
Your axe swings back down into the log, and it breaks cleanly in half. You set your axe down upon the grass and toss the chopped wood onto a growing pile off to your right. Then, you grab another log and place it squarely on the stump. Your hands find your axe again. You can’t decide if you liked her blue hair more than the red. You know that you loved when she was on top of you. You raise your axe. Regret weaves into your thoughts. You should have enjoyed it more. What if you never see her again? You bury your axe deep into the log.
“You have outdone yourself again.”
Finally. You were wondering when he’d show up.
You look over towards your father. He steps down from the cabin’s back deck. His thick black hair is combed back and peppered with white strands. Sunlight bounces off a pair of thin, brown wire frame glasses that covers his eyes. He buries his hands into the pockets of a heavy, amber colored jacket as he casually walks towards you. The denim blue jeans he wears bears a few grass stains and dried mud mares his gray loafers.
You yank your axe free and smile. “I made the front page.”
Your father returns your smile with one of his own, yet it is small and his steel gray eyes remain cold. “I saw. Apparently a shooting between rival criminals turned into a deadly explosion. All dead. The hotel won’t reopen until late next year due to the large hole in their building.”
A small laugh escapes you as you shake your head. “That is giving them too much credit.”
Your father’s brow furrows. “Who?”
“The men you told me to kill,” you answer as your attention returns to the log in front of you. “They were not rival criminals. They were rich men who wanted more. They reached too far, and I made them go boom.” You raise your axe up and quickly bring it down onto the log. It splits in half. “Except for Tyler.” You look over at your father. “I shot him in the head.”
“What was so special about Tyler?” he asks.
You shrug. “Nothing. Just felt like it.”
Your father lets out a sigh and turns away from you. He takes a few steps away. His hand lifts up, and he runs his fingers through his hair. You set your axe down and toss the newly split wood towards the steadily growing pile of new firewood. You start to reach for another log, but your father turns back around and returns.
“This job was important.”
It is your turn to sigh as your interest in splitting the next log vanishes. You knew this was coming. The conversation was always the same whenever one of your jobs ended in a mess. You can’t help the way your eyes instinctively roll. Your father steps closer.
“These clients are important.”
“It was boring,” you lift your axe up and rest it against your shoulder.
“I do not care how boring it was, Y/N.”
“Of course you don’t.” Any trace of your earlier amusement is gone. “You did not have to do any of the work. I did. I had to spend four days with an arrogant stranger who smelled like cheap cologne and even cheaper bourbon.” Your father shakes his head and turns away from you, but you are far from through with your rant. “All that money, and he is a cheapskate. Did you know that the first thing he made me do was beat up his driver because he wore the wrong tie? And there was no backup. Who doesn’t have backup?”
Your father turns back to face you. “Are you done?”
“No,” you reply. “I wanted to kill him then. After the first twenty minutes. But no. The important clients don’t want to tackle their problems one at a time. They want everything all at once.”
“They wanted this job to be subtle.”
“I do not understand why you are upset with me because your clients had unreal expectations,” you reply.
Your father frowns. “Because I trained you to be better than this.”
You don’t have a clever response for that. You turn and start to make your way towards the cabin.
“They are also upset that you left one of them alive,” your father says after a moment.
You stop as you reach the cabin’s back deck. You look back over towards your father. “Then their information is bad. All the targets are dead. It will probably take awhile to identify all the bodies. Shifting through the rubble from the charred limbs takes time.” You set your axe down and lean it against the side of the wooden cabin.
“They’ve already identified all the bodies,” your father says as he follows you towards the cabin’s back deck. “The targets, their hired security, the SHIELD team.” His voice goes cold around the last three words.
You stare at your axe. You knew he was going to find out eventually. There was always a report after every one of your jobs. He knew of all your successes and all your weaknesses. It still doesn’t stop you from feeling that first hint of fear. Rooted in so many memories. Your gaze returns to your father. The frown he wears looks so natural upon his face.
“I did not know that they would be involved,” you say.
“None of us did,” your father replies. “Why did you leave one of them alive?”
You feel the fear more keenly now. It’s like he’s reaching out for your favorite toy. You know what he’ll do when he gets it. But it’s yours, and he doesn’t get to touch it.
“I didn’t–”
“Y/N!”
You jump slightly at the way your father’s voice explodes like the crack of a gunshot.
“It’s her, Dad.”
Your voice is small as confusion softens the hard lines of your father’s face. It’s as if you are back in Ohio seeing the girl with blue hair for the first time. It had stolen the breath from your lungs the first time you saw her. So loudly different from the peaceful town tapestry. You thought you and your siblings were the only ones who stood apart. But then she entered your life.
“It’s Nat,” you say when your father’s confusion persists.
And just like that, his confusion falls away and his eyes widen.
“The Russian spy?”
A small smile curls your lips. “I didn’t get a chance to ask if that was true.”
“Oh no.” Your father’s hand runs through his hair again before shaking his head. “This is not good.”
“Dad.” You step towards him. “This is wonderful. I thought my only friend had been murdered.”
“That’s because you will believe anything your oaf of a brother tells you,” your father replies. “That girl was a spy. That whole family was built out of secrets and lies. Allowing you to form an attachment with her was a mistake. She was a distraction for you then, and she remains a distraction now.”
“She did not distract me,” you lie. “I completed the job. Is it now against the rules to socialize with old friends?”
“If she is working with SHIELD then she is your enemy,” the familiar coldness of your father’s voice returns sharply. “She threatens our reputation with our clients.”
“How?” you ask. “She did not stop me from killing my targets. She did not stop me from escaping. She did not follow me here.” Each and every one of those facts were crushing disappointments. “Your reputation remains intact. Nothing will change. I will complete the jobs you give me to the best of my ability. What does it matter if I talk to her? She will not stop me.”
You wait for your father’s argument, yet he says nothing. The look he gives you is familiar. He is studying. Assessing. It reminds you of the countless grueling training sessions in the basement of your home in Ohio. You would be sprawled out on the floor, staring up at him, covered in sweat and sucking in lungfuls of air. Desperate for the training to stop.
Finally, your father lets out a sigh and digs his hand back into his coat pocket. He withdraws a square, white envelope and extends it out towards you. “Your next job. Straightforward. I expect clean results.”
You smile and reach for the envelope. But before you can grab it, your father pulls it away.
“She cannot be a distraction, Y/N.”
Your smile falters. You want to point out that you already explained why she wasn’t. You want to stress that she’ll never be able to stop you from completing your jobs. What happened in Amsterdam was the result of a really long, awful job. You want to say all this, but you don’t. You wish that you were ignorant of the reason. But you know why. Because you aren’t certain what would have happened if that explosion hadn’t happened. If it had just been you and Nat.
But, you nod, and your father hands over the envelope. You take it.

“Ugh why do your weird nerdy friends have to come here Dusty??” you pout at your little brother as you lay on your stomach on your bed, him staring at you from your doorway.
“I told you, the drama kids are putting on a play or some shit so we can’t play D&D in there.” He says to you like it’s the most obvious thing in the world. “Just stay in here, my friends don’t wanna listen to your stupid shows on the TV or watch you dance around to your girly music.” He slams your door shut and your head shoots up off a pillow, shocked at how rude he can be. You scoff and roll onto your back, eyes growing heavy and leading you into your after school nap.

You’re rudely awakened by loud laughter and yelling. You look at the pink clock on your wall. 6:05pm. Their little game has only been going for 5 minutes and you’re already annoyed. You get up and head to your door, swinging it open and heading towards the bathroom for a quick shower before you go make yourself some dinner.
“C’mon Eddie, I wanna cast a spell, hurry up and roll!” you hear Mike Wheeler yell. Little twerp just like your brother. Always running into the house, tracking in dirt, leaving their bikes in the drivew… Wait. Eddie. Eddie’s here. In your dining room. You’ve had a crush on Eddie all year and while you two have talked here and there, you’d be lying if you said his harsh leather metal head look didn’t scare you a bit. You’re all soft edges, pink backpack, frilly white socks rolled over your reeboks, soft hair swaying. You’re not perfect, certainly no Phoebe Cates. But you know you’re pretty, plush lips over straight teeth, cute perky boobs and a butt that jiggles when you walk.
Tumblr media
You’ve felt Eddie’s eyes on you at school. Once he even bumped into you when you stopped short to tie your shoe. “Walk much?” Eddie said to you with a glare. “Oh!” You’d said as you spun around, surprised at his proximity. “S-sorry.” You said sweetly, his big brown eyes stared at you and made your tummy flutter in the most amazing way. Your tummy isn’t flat and perfect but that’s ok. You like cookies too much, is that a crime?!
“Actually since you’re here, can you hold my books while I tie my shoes?” you’d asked, voice smooth and sweet like syrup. Eddie stared at you for a second then put out his hands. You assumed that meant yes so you handed him your heavy textbooks. You turned and bent forward, ass almost grazing his crotch. The way the fabric of your white jeans stretched across your cute little butt made him stop breathing. Eddie’s mind went blank, mouth going dry and fingers going numb from the weight. Your textbooks slipped out of his hands and hit the floor with a slam. You squeaked a scared little scream and stood back up quickly. “Shit are you okay?” Eddie asks you as he drops down and picks the books back up, placing them gently into your small hands. “I’m fine. Was just loud. Scared me.” He chuckled, eyes narrowed and and flickered with mischief, making you wonder if he did that on purpose. “I’m sorry angel… I mean-” Your reaction to his nickname for you got cut short when you jumped for the second time in the last two minutes thanks to the class bell ringing. “Gotta go.” Eddie said with a wink before racing past you, your face red with embarrassment.
Tumblr media
You giggle at the memory as you exit the shower. Quickly running back to your room to get ready, you think to yourself: How can I get Eddie’s attention but not let him know he has mine? I think he likes me but I don’t wanna look too desperate. Gotta tease him a bit… You curl your lashes and put on your sparkly pink lipgloss. You open your closet and weigh your options… tight jeans?… but you want Eddie to see your panties. A dress? that’s a little too obvious… your fingers reach for your soft pink frilly mini skirt that has a matching jacket that your friend borrowed and never gave back. You slip it on, white and pink lace panties underneath with a scalloped edge that hug your ass just right. A simple white T shirt that’s slightly see through over a matching pink and white lace bra and a couple sparkly silver necklaces finish your outfit. Barefoot you begin to creep downstairs, the sounds of boys whooping and dice hitting your wooden dining room table growing louder as you ascend.
Tumblr media
“So uh, where’s your sister D?” you hear one of the boys ask. You stop on the second to last step, leaning in to listen. It’s not Eddie’s voice, but too deep to be Mike or Lucas’s. “Up in her room, she’s so annoying.” You roll your eyes. “Maybe..” Gareth grumbles. “But I certainly don’t mind lookin’ at her.” Everyone busts out into laughter except your brother. “Ew dude gross! Shut up, it’s your turn.” “Yeah G,” you finally hear Eddie’s voice, it sounds deep and tight like he’s clenching his jaw. “Roll the dice before I write you out of this whole campaign.” “Jeez fine. I got a 12.” “Not enough, you lose 18 hit points.” “What the fuck man!”
As the game continues you saunter past the table, only turning your head once to smile and wave politely at the group. You feel Eddie’s eyes follow you all the way to the kitchen. Their conversation continues on, sounding further away now. You begin to warm up some rice and leftover chicken, mixing up a strawberry lemonade while the microwave whirs. As you watch the yellow drink turn pink you feel a warmth encroach your space, the smell of weed and cinnamon gum filling your nostrils.
“Hey y/n.. didn’t know you were here.” Eddie says as he stands behind you. Closer than what would be considered normal. You spin around, big doe eyes looking up and meeting his, small silver spoon that you were mixing with coming up to your lips and sucking, savoring the tangy powder. His eyes fall to your mouth, half hooded, eyebrows raising slightly. You pull it out slowly and lick the tip of it with your tongue, before saying “I live here. Where else would I be?” in your bratty tone.
He shrugs his shoulders, “Friday night, thought maybe you’d be on a date.” He says with a crooked smile. Does he think about me going on dates? He crowds closer into your space, you feel the countertop at your back as you lean against it. “Nope. No date. Maybe you can set me up with one of your friends?” you say as you look past him, over his shoulder towards where Hellfire is. “My friends? You wanna date one of us?” “I don’t know.. maybe. You think they’d be interested?” you ask him confidently but your heart is beating so fast, your breath uneven, chest rising with every shaky inhale. BEEEEEP. The microwave signals behind you. “Eddie! You done in the bathroom yet?!” you hear your brother yell from down the hall. “Sounds like you’re needed out there.” You say to him, beginning to slide past him. His hand shoots up to grab your hip and maneuver you back. Caged in by him.
“Yeah, gimme five minutes!” He yells over his shoulder. You stare up at him, unsure what he’s going to do. He reaches behind you picking up your pink lemonade and drinks the whole thing in one long sip. You watch as his neck stretches back and his adams apple bobs when he swallows. The pale smooth skin of his neck looking irresistibly bite-able. “Sweet. Like you.” He says, low and gravelly. He puts the glass down and drops his chin to his chest, looking at the small space between your bodies. “Is this a skirt or a belt? So fuckin’ short I thought I saw some ass when you walked by.” “Maybe I wanted your friend to see. What’s his name? With the curls… Gareth?” Eddie snorts and throws his head back with a mock laugh. “Gareth wouldn’t know what to do with you.” His eyes sweep down your neck, your chest and stop at where the thin fabric of your shirt and lace bra are barely doing anything to cover the pebbled peaks of your nipples. “Oh and you know what to do with me?” you ask, eyebrows raising condescendingly. He exhales a low growl before reaching to grab the back of your squishy thighs and lifting you up onto the counter.
“I’d have a lot of fun finding out-” he leans forward, hands softly grasping the back of your calves, thumbs rubbing up and down the smooth skin as he guides them to rest around his thighs. “Angel.” he says with a wink. You feel a shudder go through you, ending at your core and making you ache between your legs. Eddie’s standing between your spread thighs, the rough fabric of his black jeans rubbing against your legs as he talks. Everything about him feels so warm. “Listen to me real good now.” He says, lips brushing the shell of your ear causing goosebumps to erupt down the whole left side of your body. “You’re going to eat your little snack. Then go back upstairs to your room and wait for me. Think you can do that?” He doesn’t wait for you to respond before he’s backing away and walking back down the hallway. “EDDIE COME OOON!” Gareth yells. “Comin’!” He says back, wide smirk dancing on his lips.
You’re left in the kitchen wondering what just happened and what you just got yourself into…

OMG OMG!! DAD KYOJURO AU!!
I just had the most adorable idea and I had to share it despite me still taking a break from posting.
But freaking imagine Kyojuro just adopting all of the Kamados after they're orphaned. Yes. I'm talking about all the Kamado siblings. If there's an alternate universe where they're teachers and students (Kimetsu Gauken) then there's one where all the siblings survive. Whether it's modern or not I have no idea but I have adorable ideas for both!
Imagine Shinjuro and Ruka coming to visit their oldest son and there's six children inside including Tanjuro youngest baby brother who's strapped to his chest. Both are extremely confused about it but asks about it assuming he's just babysitting for someone.
"MOTHER! FATHER! YOU'RE JUST IN TIME TO MEET YOUR NEW GRANDCHILDREN!"
Both are shocked, Shinjuro more than Ruka, but it turns out Kyojuro is actually fostering the Kamado siblings after both parents pass away. He's already adopted them in his eyes whether he's legally their adopted dad on paper is irrelevant but he's in the process of actually making that happen.
Ruka is way understanding of Kyojuro's decision and always knew he wanted to be a dad. Senjuro is absolutely overjoyed to have more siblings including sisters and for once he's the big bro. Shinjuro thinks Kyojuro is hurting his chances of finding a woman who could give him actual children but a few loud and firm talks from Ruka and seeing Kyo so happy, makes him eventually come to terms with it.
It helps him bond with his new 'grandchildren' when Shigeru and Takeo wants to join his dojo after seeing Shinjuro teaching Senjuro how to properly stand to defend himself. IT LOOKS SO COOL!! They want to try too! He's stunned by it but isn't against the idea. It helps when Kyojuro has the girls and Tanjiro join too because-
"Self defense training is always a good idea!! And it healthy to keep in shape!"
It's become a family bonding experience for the entire family every Saturday to attend Grandpa Shinjuro classes while Kyojuro takes pictures and takes care of a fussy Rokuta in his arms.
ALSO IMAGINE KYO BEING SUCH A MALEWIFE!!
He doesn't notice it but a lot more people fawn over him as he becomes a dad. It's that (dilf-) domestic energy radiating off of him!
He's oblivious to it so when people are aweing over him as he plays peekaboo with Rokuta or letting the girls do his nails at the park, he just thinks they're impressed by his dad skills. Please help him. He's smart but so oblivious to the effects he has on people.
Speaking of which-
HE'S SO GOOD AT PARENTING!!
-Encouraging but if he thinks his kids need to learn by doing or needs privacy he respects their space.
-ABSOLUTELY LET'S THE GIRLS DO HIS HAIR AND MAKE UP! Once forgot to wash it off and came back to work with orange and red nail polish and black eyeshadow. But he'll proudly admit it if you asked him. "Hanako and Nezuko did my make up! What do you think, Best Buddy?!" "Flashy!~ But next time don't sleep in it. Looks smudged."
-Drives a minivan and absolutely drops all the kids off at school/daycare. You'll always see him driving his kids to activities.
-Speakibg of activities, he encourages all his kids to at least have one extracurricular activity outside Grampy-juro's self defense classes. He's very encouraging of his kid's hobbies! He's always driving Nezuko and Tanjiro to their after school clubs. He never misses Takeo and Shigero's sports meetings and is that one parent that always brings the entire team snacks and bottled water. He's yet to miss any of Hanako's dance recitals.
If he can't make it to any of them he's always asking someone to film it for him so he can watch it later.
-If they express other interests he fully supports them in those too! Rokuta likes art as he gets older? He's buying the baby nontoxic paints and crayons and whatever he needs. Somehow convinces Tengen to give him some art points too. Hanako starts a figurine collection? He's taking her to the store and buying her at least ten new ones.
-Teaches Tanjiro and Nezuko to drive once the two oldest get old enough to get a driver's license and like the classic dad wears a helmet and grips the seats as they go
-Carries Rokuta in a baby harness and later on a baby leash until he's old enough for the Kimetsu Preschool. Kagaya is alright with this and has given him special permission to have Rokuta with him during classes.
-Hr documents everything in one big scrap book. All birthdays, trips, milestones, etc are documented forever in a giant scrapbook.
-Cries like a baby when Tanjiro and Nezuko first graduates and gets their diplomas.
-But I think the best thing about Dad Kyojuro is that he'd never try to replace Tanjuro or Kie in their lives. He makes sure that they have a picture of their parents hanging on the wall and never undermines their feelings or memories concerning them and has no problems saying they were great parents. Takes them to visit their resting place at least once or twice a year and as Rokuta grows older, he tells him all about his parents so he knows who they are.
-He also never pressures any of them to call him Dad. Kyojuro, Mr. Rengoku, and Big Bro is just as good in his eyes but if they choose to call him Dad he's not against it. But be prepared for him to cry happy tears for the next few hours.

Love on Ice Chapter 9: The Dilemmas
Another chapter update for y’all ❤️
Tumblr media
37 Days until Competition
Elain felt shitty that the first time she invited her sisters to her apartment in months was because of a stupid boy. (Fitting, because said stupid boy had given her the idea of reconnecting with her sisters in the first place.) But she was seething and needed someone rational and level headed to talk to.
And Feyre, bless her heart, didn't seem to mind at all, just excited to finally spend time with her sister as Elain described how they’d become partners. The youngest Archeron perched at the dining table with a glass of red wine, both fists propping her chin up, blue eyes wide as she tracked Elain’s frantic pacing. The oldest sister would be joining shortly.
“I just don’t understand why he didn’t tell me,” Elain said, fingers that weren’t holding her own wine glass digging into her temples. She wasn’t much of a drinker, but she felt alcohol was necessary. “I don’t need to know everything about his life, but you’d think he would have just…said it naturally.”
“So then maybe it’s possible he doesn’t have a girlfriend,” Feyre reasoned, casually sipping her wine. “He might have just gone out one night to…” She grimaced, shaking the images from her brain. She did not want to think about her friend that way. “But I know Az. He isn’t normally the type to bring girls home.”
Elain set her glass down, hands on her hips. “Okay well maybe they take him home instead. I don’t know which option is worse, and I don’t know which one I’d prefer.”
None. She’d prefer none of these scenarios her brain had concocted. Truly, she wouldn’t have questioned any of this had she not seen the hickey. It was displayed so proudly on his skin, so vividly.
“And…why would it be a big deal if he had a girlfriend?” Feyre wondered, swirling the liquid in her glass. She schooled her face into one of indifference, though it was difficult to hide the tug of her lips at the realization Elain had a crush and was seemingly spiraling out of control.
Elain sighed, joining Feyre at the table after the oven dinged. A plate of warm chocolate chip cookies sat between them. The sisters dug in, savoring the warmth and sweetness on their tongues. “It’s just about respect. Ice dancing is…intimate. I don’t want to cause any problems between them.”
“Fair, and mature,” Feyre said around a mouthful of chocolate. “And if he doesn’t have one…”
Elain swallowed her bite, flashing her sister an unenthused look. “Feyre, have you seen him?”
“I don't ogle my husband’s best friend if that’s what you’re asking,” Feyre snorted, “But yes, Azriel has always been handsome. And it sounds to me that you are very attracted to him.”
Elain froze, wine glass halfway to her mouth. Her eyes narrowed into slits. “I am not.”
A bold lie that neither one of them commented on.
“He has a girlfriend. And in the event he doesn't, then I have to live with the fact that my skating partner takes women home and…engages in…uncompromising positions.” Heat warmed her cheeks. Any and all thoughts about Azriel’s sexual endeavors were pushed out of her head, even if some begged to stay.
The front door to her apartment swung open violently. Nesta dropped her dance bag and kicked off her shoes before slinking over to her sisters. Not even bothering to grab a glass, she took a swig straight from the wine bottle.
“Sorry I’m late,” She grumbled, trying her best to remove the scowl from her face. “Cassian does not know when to stop talking.”
A look passed between the two younger sisters.
“Didn’t you just come from work?” Elain asked, offering up a cookie.
Nesta accepted, devouring the treat in two bites. “Mhm. Apparently, he’s decided that in his free time, he's going to watch my classes. And then when my classes are done, he’s going to trap me into a twenty minute conversation, asking me when I’m going to grow up and let him take me out.”
Elain and Feyre cooed simultaneously, giggling at Nesta’s eye twitch. “That is not cute. He is not cute. He is a distraction and he angers me.”
Lie after lie after lie.
Apparently the Archeron sisters were professionals at denying very obvious feelings.
“If you didn’t want him there, why didn't you kick him out?” Feyre asked, brows quirked in challenge. Elain nodded her agreement.
Nesta bit out, “Whatever. I’m still not going out with him.”
Because she did want him there, Elain thought to herself with a grin.
Nesta plopped herself on the floor, not bothering to perch in a chair. Cross legged, she stared up at her sisters. “So, what did I miss?”
A brief moment of silence passed over them before Feyre blurted giddily, “Elain has a crush on Az.” She almost spewed her wine at Elain’s incredulous look.
“I do not,” Elain hissed, chomping another cookie. She turned to Nesta, whose face was wide eyed and bright. “He has a girlfriend. Or he’s…sleeping with someone.”
The oldest sister frowned, motioning with her hand for another cookie. “Since when?”
“Since a few days ago, when he came into my job sporting a hickey right on his stupid neck.” A very strong, very tan, very beautifully tattooed neck. Had whoever branded his skin trailed her tongue along the ink, too? Elain’s stomach flipped at the thought.
Nesta blinked as slowly as she chewed. She came to only one possible conclusion. “And…you wish it were you?”
Feyre cackled, and Elain threw her hands up. Gosh, they were insufferable! “No, I do not wish it were me!” Nesta smirked, toying with the cork from the wine bottle. “So then what’s the issue?”
“The issue,” Elain said after tipping back the rest of her wine. Nesta handed her the bottle. “Is that he didn’t tell me. We’re skating partners, which means we work closely together. I just want to be mindful and respectful of his relationship.”
“You want to be respectful to him and his supposed girlfriend, then why are you wearing his shirt?” Nesta pointed out with her chin.
Elain glanced down, muttering a curse too low for her sisters to hear. Velaris Ice Warriors was printed across her chest in white ink against the purple fabric, with a mountain on each sleeve. “I spilled tea on my sweater at our last practice. He had a spare shirt in his bag, that’s all. I brought it home to wash and I just…grabbed it this morning when I finished showering.”
Feyre hummed.
“Look, girlfriend or fuck buddy aside, you wouldn't be this upset over a damn hickey if you didn’t have feelings for him,” Nesta said, taking another drink from the bottle. “And if you’re going to fall for anyone, I’m glad it’s Az. You don’t need it, but you have my approval.”
Elain’s face burned. Well…that was at least good to know.
“He really is wonderful, Elain,” Feyre whispered, nudging her sister’s hand with the bottom of her wine glass. “In the event he isn’t seeing anyone, I think you guys could have something really special. I know you don’t have much experience dating but I don’t think that would matter to him. He’d treat you perfectly, just like you deserve.”
That was also good to know.
“Or,” Nesta’s smirk was feline, which usually meant trouble. “If you didn’t want to date him, you could always just fuck him.”
Elain was sure her face couldn’t possibly get redder. Nesta and Nuala would be great friends, it seemed. “I’ll do that when you agree to let Cassian take you on a proper date,” She challenged, dodging the wine cork that was beamed at her head. Nesta glowered, sending all of the sisters into an eventual fit of giggles.
Though Elain was still conflicted about her situation with Azriel, something in her chest lightened. She was positive it had everything to do with her sisters, even if some of their advice had been…unhelpful.
But it was nice having them around. She’d almost forgotten the color of Feyre’s eyes, the sound of Nesta’s laugh. Elain settled into her chair, watching as Feyre tried to convince Nesta to give Cassian a chance. The next sentence didn’t feel as foreign on her tongue as she thought it would.
“Stay for dinner,” Elain offered, interrupting the sisterly banter. “Please. There’s a new recipe I’ve been meaning to try and I…” She swallowed. “I’ve missed you.”
Nesta’s face softened in a way it only did around her sisters. Not many people were privileged enough to bear witness to her gentle side. She didn’t show it much, but it was there.
Nesta glanced at Feyre, who spoke for both of them. Her inked hand covered Elain’s smooth skin. “We missed you too, Elain. You don’t know how happy we were to hear from you, even more ecstatic to come visit you. We’d love to stay.”
Elain puffed out a relieved breath.
“Can we…” Nesta fiddled with her thumb nail. She looked sheepish, eyes darting between her sisters. “Can we do this again sometime?”
Feyre turned hopeful eyes on Elain.
Elain grinned. “I think I'd like that.”
Tumblr media
“His audacity is bigger than his dick.”
Cassian almost choked on his beer, wiping what spilled out of the sides of his mouth with the back of his hand. “Damn. Rhys really got under your skin, huh?”
The two hockey players were situated in Azriel’s basement, which was just a bit more luxurious than the rest of his humble home. It was newly renovated with shiny wooden floors, leather seats, a ping pong table, a billiards table, and a fully stocked bar. A few of his Ice Warriors buddies were still trying to convince him that the basement needed an air hockey table, too.
Cassian lounged in a recliner, four empty beer bottles scattered about his feet. In the corner of the room, Azriel nursed his own beer, lining up his last dart with the Bullseye on the board. It might have been petty, but a photo of Rhysand’s face replaced the usual red Bullseye circle.
“Are you really going to do both?” Cassian inquired, smirking when Azriel’s last dart landed right between Rhysand’s eyes.
Normally on any given day, both Cassian and Rhysand would’ve been invited over for a few beers and a round of billiards. But Rhysand had overstepped, and Azriel knew how to hold a grudge.
“Yes, because it’s possible. But if he forces my hand, I am going to choose Elain and say fuck the game. We have plenty of championship wins already.” He’d already made up his mind, and nothing anyone said could convince him to think differently.
“I didn't realize the competition was this important to you,” Cassian said, twirling a bottle opener around his finger.
Azriel shrugged, plucking the darts from the board. “It’s not. Elain is.”
He’d won plenty of ice dancing competitions, too. Another medal meant nothing to him, really. But Elain? Learning how to love skating again? Winning for herself, and for no one else? That was what mattered.
Cassian stood, depositing the bottle opener onto the pool table as he strode toward the dart board. He grabbed four red darts and said, “Something going on between the two of you?”
“About as much as whatever’s going on between you and Nesta,” Azriel quipped, flexing his arm so Cassian’s cheapshot punch wouldn’t sting as much.
“Prick,” Cassian muttered, scowling when his dart bounced off the board. “You know, you wouldn’t be so uptight if you fucked every once in a while.”
“Not interested,” Azriel said immediately, lips quirking when his dart landed on Rhysand’s forehead.
“Not interested unless it's her, you mean,” Cassian said, nodding when his dart landed in the outer ring.
Azriel said nothing, but he didn’t have to.
“Think she would?”
Azriel licked his lips. “You’re asking if Elain would fuck me, when she hesitates to even call me her friend?”
“Damn,” Cassian whistled lowly. “She didn't even friendzone you. You’re just…there. You know what that means, right?”
Azriel blew out a breath, lining up his next shot. “What does it mean, Cass?”
Cassian swigged from his beer before saying, “Sorry brother, but she’s already fucking someone else.” Azriel’s dart ricocheted off the edge of the board, turning dark eyes to his friend who was crouched over in laughter. Azriel had yet to see what was so funny.
He didn’t want to think about it. He refused to think about the possibility that Elain was sleeping with someone. The chance she was sharing someone else’s bed. Letting another man feel her skin or kiss her neck or throw her legs over his shoulders as his tongue worked her to the brink of an orgasm.
No, Azriel refused to think about those things for two reasons.
One, his fist would shatter drywall.
Two, it’d be a reminder that his tongue was nowhere close to tasting her skin.
“How are you this bad at cheering someone up?” Azriel spat, pulling all of the red and blue darts from the board, thrusting four into Cassian’s waiting palm. Azriel swallowed, asking softly, “You don’t think that's true though, right?” “I don’t know Elain well enough to say if it's true or not, but your reaction tells me everything I need to know,” Cassian's features softened. “Your feelings for her go beyond just simply caring.”
Azriel took a long swig from his bottle, eyes trained ahead.
“I want to see you happy, brother. You deserve it,” Cassian clapped him on the shoulder. “And if that’s with Elain, I want to see that happen. Don’t let anything get in the way if you do find yourself granted the chance to be with her. Not your self loathing shit, and certainly not Rhys.”
Azriel hadn’t let himself plan further than just being an acquaintance, or even a friend for that matter. But just for a brief moment, he allowed himself to think about what it would be like to become a permanent fixture in Elain’s life, if she found him worthy enough.
To hold her in his embrace.
To show her off in public.
To be vulnerable with her. Cherish her. Protect her. Love her.
And his heart warmed.
Even if he was not guaranteed an ending with her, maybe he could let himself dream.

Hey I was wondering if you do requests? If you do could you do a Gil x reader where she’s Betty’s tutor in science and he swears he’s never seen her (but they go to the same school) and he is so smitten. Also some sibling antics between the Rizzo siblings like in the show haha! I also LOVE your writing!
Omg yes!!! Love this concept. Here’s a little one shot I thought of.
T🪽Birds request: Meeting… Again (Gil)
Tumblr media
"Ma! I got the groceries!" Gil said out loud as he kicked his boots off at the doorway.
Gil's mom comes at the door, smiling at her eldest as he came to pick up groceries for their family.
"Gil, I told you i'd get them after Betty's tutor session is done." she lightly scolded him as she gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"Nah, it's not a problem. I dropped the guys off and had some time on my plate. Where is dear sister of mine?"
He asks, wanting to make fun of Betty as she failed her last science quiz at school.
"She's in the kitchen with her tutor. Don't interrupt, please." She said before making her way in their house. Once gone, Gil runs for the kitchen and starts his antics.
He was about to announce his presence till he saw you and Betty sitting at the table while you were pointing at the book.
"-and that's how you use the scientific method." You said, dropping your pencil as you pointed out the page with it.
Betty brightened up as she looks back at you.
"It's so easy to understand now! When Mr. Winslow explains it, my brain turns to mush."
"Yeah, I had Mr. Winslow when I was your grade. I thought he was from the planet Mars." You joke as both of you laugh.
"You had him too?" Gil asked out loud.
You and Betty look at him as you didn't realize he was in the room.
"Get away, Gil. I'm trying to study." Betty said sharply.
"Hey, I'm not the one failing science right now. I'm just trying to get to know this beautiful and smart lady in front of me who unfortunately had to take that old man's class." Gil said, offering his hand towards you.
You lightly scoff as you look at Gil.
"Well, we both took his class together at Betty's grade. Or have you forgotten that we've been going to the same schools since junior high?" You ask, slightly teasing him.
Gil's face falls and his sister tries to silence her giggles. One thing about you is that you're not afraid to say what's on your mind.
He thought that was so cool.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend." He said, trying to chuckle it off as he straightened up.
Your features become softer as you give him a sympathetic look.
"It's alright. We're not really in the same classes now. I don't usually stand out for fun people like you, Gil." You said, making him feel more at ease.
Gil pretended to ponder, a playful smirk dancing on his lips. "Hmm, maybe I just have a selective memory. But I'm definitely not forgetting you anytime soon."
You two silently stare at each other, smiling until Betty interrupted, waving her arm to grab your attention.
"Hello? I didn't realize this tutor session turned into a date." She slightly yells out loud.
You and Gil break out of your trance as you cough in embarrassment.
"Sorry. Let's focus on chapter 5." You said, staring down at the book. Gil waves a small goodbye as he leaves you both alone and heads to his room, not knowing you were looking at him leave.
He slumps on his bed and looks up at the ceiling, sighing contently as all he could do was think of your smile.
That’s when he realized you got him twirled around his finger.
And he’s more than okay with that.

🍒 I dare u to do one scary thing in public and you will stop fearing people

rn I am listening to calm sc subs in public cos I don't have my earphones, it was scary at first but literally... no one cares, no one asked, nothing happened, I even forgot I was listening to them (k as I was writing, my sister did ask what's this sound & she thought the rain sounds were mouth eating asmr lol)
also another 'scary' thing I did today was hot girl walking around the halls of my driving institute buildings cos my dad dropped me off there and I had nothing to do after class. did I look weird? maybe. did I get the occasional glance? ofc. but was that a better option than walking outside in heat? absolutely, so why would I make myself suffer just because of some irrational fear of being perceived??
anyway, a few months back, I added this item to my to-do list every single day: "do one thing that scares you to level up"
& guess what? I did level up. most of these situations that used to scare me were interpersonal or social but now I couldn't care less. I can't even relate to concepts such as beating around the bush or social anxiety anymore. I am more assertive, more free in the way I interact with ohters, and much more relaxed.
like I am sometimes confused when my friends are scared of asking a very normal question to my professors or wanna opt out of something just because they're scared, then I remember that used to be & I am sooo grateful.
I am so grateful I changed. I am so grateful I grew. I am so grateful I can be myself in public. I am so grateful I can live in my authenticity.
being authentically yourself is scary at first cos that means when you get rejected, it isn't a fake persona you put up that is being rejected, it is the real you. and that will hurt, a lot.
but how are u gonna find the people who actually love the real u if you've never shown it to anyone?
(+ you will get used to the pain of rejection & getting used to difficult emotions is actually a great way to heal and grow!)
so if you want actionable tips, here's a couple:
• do one thing that scares you every day
add this to your to do list like I did
& whenever you feel that pang to retreat remind yourself that this your chance to level up!
• think of more ways u could be unapologetically yourself
what are ways you could take up more space?
maybe dressing up however you please, dancing it out while going on walk because you're feeling the music, saying what you're truly thinking. the scarier the better!
wish u all the luck in becoming the best version of u ❤️

Lone wolf (Quinn fabray x fem-reader)
Tumblr media
Warning: fluff, bullying, angst
My family was an immigrant family from Italy. My sister and me were the only American citizen in my family. We were also the only two who could speak English fluently. My dad was on a work visa from Germany and my mom was on a work visa from Italy.
I had always made it through school without being noticed. All I wanted to do was make it through the four years of high school. Living in Lima, Ohio is never easy. Especially when I didn’t have any friends. My home life wasn’t easy my family struggled a lot with money. We would live paycheck to paycheck. My mom had issues with what my father said was shopping. But it was really an addiction to drugs and drinking. I tried to never be a burden to anyone. I just tried making it out of high school which was never gonna happen I had several failed classes that I needed to catch up on and pass. I didn’t know if I would be making it out of fucking Lima Ohio. I didn’t even know if I wanted to graduate. There’s several jobs that don’t need me to graduate or my dad’s boss had dropped out of high school and made himself a million dollar business.
On the other hand my sister was a Cheerio. She was popular. She was dating a football player Matt Rutherford. She was friends with the unholy trinity although she was a year younger than them. They accepted her and treated her like a little sister. Her and Matt met last year when he was a freshman and she was an 8th grader. She was at cheerleading camp and performed at one of the games. She seemed to be the perfect kid straight A’s and just all together Straight. Unlike me who was a raging Lesbian loner with tattoos and piercings.
It was the first day of my senior year. As I got dressed in a leather crop top, a leather skirt and a heavy leather jacket. I ran across the hallway to wake up my sister. I sat on her bed and shook her.
“Hope! It’s time to wake up.” I told her
“Ugh… do I have too.” She pleaded
“Yes, come on we both are in the only two years of highschool that are good.” I replied “we have to leave in 30 minutes. I’m gonna run down the street to the convenient store and grab us some breakfast. Well you put your make up on.”
I ran down to the convenient store and picked us both up some donuts and got us some milk (choose whatever milk you like or change it if your lactose intolerant) I got myself a strawberry banana milk and my sister some chocolate. I went up to the counter to pay. I headed back to the car and went back home to grab my sister. She was already outside waiting for me. As I drove her to school we sang along to the radio. We had a twenty minute drive to school so we sang everything from AC/DCs Thunderstruck to Bon Jovi’s You give love a bad name. But as soon as we arrived at school she had me drop her off a block away so that she would not be seen with me. I drove into the senior lot almost hitting a couple of Jocks throwing kids into a dumpster.
I kept my head down all day like usual. Until I got cornered in the library by my Spanish teacher after school well I was studying. Well I was actually waiting for my sister. I was excepting that he wanted to talk to me about Spanish. But instead he showed me a video of me in middle school singing in my choir. He asked me if I would join his stupid glee club. I said no of course. Why would I join a stupid club let alone the glee club. I was walking out the school when I saw some kids in the choir room singing and what apparently they think is dancing. I stopped and stood there for a second before a girl with a really big smile waved at me. God I hated happy people I walked away and got in my car and drove a block away to pick my sister up.
“How was cheer practice?” I asked her
“Don’t talk to me. I don’t talk to losers like you.” She told me
“Okay, Lupa.” I said
“Verliererin”she said
(Translate) Lupa: Bitch (Italian)
Verliererin: Loser (German)
I got home and went to bed. There was no point in staying up the only thing that it would lead to is me getting yelled at but of course I still got yelled out.
Our mother came storming into my room at 1:00am screaming at me. “ (Nessuno ti amerà mai né si prenderà cura di te. Sei una puttana e una stronza, sei fortunato che lascio vivere a casa mia anche un frocio come te. So solo che sei facile da battere.) Nobody will ever love you or care about you. You’re a whore and a cunt you’re lucky I’m even letting a fag like you live in my home. I just know that you’re easy to beat.”
As she left my bedroom I heard her go upstairs and go to her room. I went upstairs and went out to my car I just went for a drive to see how far I could get. I didn’t stop driving til I got tired. At that point I had Passed the border I wasn’t sure what direction I was going in. But I had hit Michigan at some point a couple hours ago. It was way past the start of school but I couldn’t go back. I couldn’t get what my mom said out of my head. It hurt so much I knew that she didn’t like me but I did not think that she would say it to my face. I got a text from Matt saying that he had brought my sister to school.
I had stayed away for a couple days staying at a hotel. Well I was staying there one day I was exploring and I discovered that there was a good lesbian bar that was near by the hotel. I didn’t drink much but I met some people that were like me and it felt good for the first time in along time.
When I came back I drove into the senior lot I didn’t attend much of my classes I attended my history class and spent the rest of the time in the only place that I never get interrupted the auditorium. I don’t why but it was always the place that I felt the safest. I looked up when I heard talking I saw those group of kids from the choir room a football player. I think his name was Fish I have no clue I wasn’t paying attention when Matt introduced them to me and my sister. When they started singing I heard the happiness in their voice. It sounded like the really wanted to be there. I looked up to see Mr. Schue standing next to me also watching them. He said some shit I guess he was gonna leave (which wouldn’t be the worse thing) I don’t even think he knows Spanish.
Why was I so happy in that moment. Maybe it was cause I was seeing a group of kids who the world hadn’t damaged yet. Just having fun maybe I realized …

s2 episode 1 thoughts
here we goooooo!
(i started to imagine the sound of a really long and celebratory air horn to commemorate starting s2... but then that mental sound was awful so we ended that pretty quick)
it opens with mulder providing some gentle asmr about aliens and space with a thinly disguised undercurrent of rage in his voice, nice...
he starts talking about a guy named "richard bryan" cutting an alien survey program and that is such a generic name i figured they made it up for the show. and wrote "haha wouldn't it be funny if that was a real guy. and they made this whole episode just to mess with him."
chat. you're never gonna believe this. richard bryan was real and he did in fact cut the alien program. how do you think he felt being name dropped here? neeeeed to get his side of the story
(they also talk about the voyager a bit here which is really cool i won't lie)
now, what has our duo been up to in the time away from the x files? mulder is listening to men talk about lap dances and spitting sunflower seeds... i am not surprised here... all in the name of Research...
but scully is teaching at the academy!!! oh this delighted me to no end!
she starts getting emotional over the concept of a life being contained within tissue and her student is like "you sound spooky" ha. ha. i see what they did there. mulder you're a terrible influence.
they run into each other and she is so happy to see him but he totally blows her off! i was so sad!!!!
AUGH HE HAS HIS SISTER'S PHOTO ON HIS NEW DESK. aughhh man hold on. hold on.
scully is waiting outside watergate (wild they hadn't rebranded at that point tbh) for a shadowy figure and it is mulder! a very cranky and tired looking mulder! he's like we shouldn't be meeting, what do you need me for.... omg rude??
"so what did you want?" "to see if you're alright" (sound of me being sucked into emotional quicksand rapidly)
to answer her question of "are you okay" he begins to ramble about telescopes which is very in character
he says he saw deep throat's funeral but i remain suspicious....
the x files project being shut down has destroyed the man we used to know as mulder! he says that he isn't even sure if what happened to his sister is real anymore! they killed his spirit! "seeing isn't enough... i need solid evidence. i learned that from you" HEY OUCH?????
he's on the ground filled with a deep sadness and she runs her fingers through his hair, at which point i made this note: "y'all i'm only on season 2 i can't do this. i'm gasping so aggressively my mouth is hurting" so safe to say that i will be in for a hell of a ride moving forward... keep me in ur thoughts
baby fox flashback! we see his sister's abduction, which is obviously supposed to be very heavy and traumatic but i was laughing at the skinny little alien throwing her through the window lmaooo i love you 90's cgi <3
PAUSE. we see mulder waking up in a cold sweat from reliving his worst memory. but i see something new in the background: a fish tank in his room. this is a striking development that shall not slip by unnoticed.
and then some guy bursts into his room? and takes him to "the hill" to meet with a politician, who keeps calling him fox? who says they're being listened to? and tells him he needs to go to puerto rico where they're hiding evidence?
(tbh that sequence raised a lot more questions than it answered but i did love that mulder can name the bach piece that is being played because of his college music class lol)
SKINNER MENTIONED!!!! okay i figured out who he is: he's the one with the glasses and the fancy desk and the sidekick who is ALWAYS smoking. glad to have a name to the face. like yeah he was there last season but i had other things to focus on i guess.
cutscene to mulder lounging in a truck bed in puerto rico. niiiice. climbing compilation- niiiiiiice. and busting things open? hell yeah niiiiice
gasp... scully broke into his place (which i think is an entirely new set? or at least from a different angle. but um. okay i'll try and ignore that. but can anyone confirm or deny...?)
anyway she puts her glasses on and slips into password guessing mode and succeeds... i would have thought the FBI would keep tighter passwords on their personal devices than "trustno1" but hey maybe he did that so she could strategically break in!
and some dudes bust in and ask why she's here so she's like ummm i feed the fish lol.....
(and then she refuses to endanger the fish by overfeeding them because that's the type of person she is... and if it provides cover for sneaking out something printed from his computer well that's just a bonus!)
back to puerto rico!! guy in the bathroom reveal!!! mulder cannot speak spanish (smh mulder you were supposed to be the humanities one) but the dude draws a picture of an alien so i guess that proves that art is a universal language <3
scully is taking his paper she printed to some guy to analyze idk her freckles were distracting me again. sorry. NOT! i refuse to apologize. not during june.
(but she goes through some flight records and sees his alias and realizes where he's going and follows)
again, back to puerto rico! our new friend jorge is running for his life into a storm so our patient pal mulder naturally runs after him. into the jungle. and ohhhh jorge is dead now? that was quick.
he does a DIY autopsy on jorge while speaking into the voice recorder- which he addresses as "scully", while sounding like he is going to get sick, kicking things, sweating profusely, and doubting himself. hell yeah baby this is tv! i wanna see that man in situations!
"before i could only trust myself, now i can only trust you, and they've taken you away from me... my life up until this point has been about seeing her again, but what would i do if they really came?"
(now the first part of that is WILD. they've taken you away from me. that phrasing... also, they have successfully gotten the man to doubt his entire existence. sneaky little fbi trick there, making "trust no one" include himself)
BUT the skinny legend aliens return and he is brought back to his sense quickly. he gave it a good go (shot at it a bunch of times) but weirdly the gun didn't fire... probably a good thing. imagine the complications to alien diplomacy that would create!
he wakes up on the floor to scully explaining who she is and asking if he remembers her. he bolts awake, grabs her shoulders, and says that it was the same alien that took his sister. she is already deeply concerned when he then kicks aside a dead body and says we have to analyze it and her face in this moment was delightful. it was very much giving "mulder you're scaring me" just with the eyes
she has to make him realize they can't smuggle a body back to the states OR any of the paperwork really so he just grabs an audio thing that was clearly a better choice. but i want to know how he thought they were gonna get jorge out of there. because the alien hunters were coming to kill him and speed is hard enough for alive people.
"evidence doesn't matter if you're dead!" -dr. dana scully
they crash their way through the jungle, getting shot at and generally destroying what i'm sure is a very important ecosystem but still. they made it out! sorry to the environment </3
mulder gets called into skinner's office (i know that guy's name now!!! i'm so proud) and yelled at for blowing off his case work... and cigarette sidekick is also yelling at him but skinner kicks ciggy man out... is he... an ally? he tells him to go back to work on the job mulder finished like 2 weeks ago...... okay so what i'm seeing here is a boss who is willing to let a man pursue his passions
at the very end we see our duo reunited and it appears the audio he smuggled out of puerto rico had nothing recorded on it!
she tries to encourage him and he seems to be doing better: "i may not have the x files, scully, but i still have my work... (looong pause) and i still have you... (looong pause) and i still have myself" <- okay so looks like we're getting our boy back!!! who cheered?! meee!
he returns to the recording of men discussing strippers and she grasps his hand and then leaves him to his task...
BUT! the minute she leaves, he puts the first audio file back on and it seems to be working now... so why didn't he want her to know???
what is going on!!! i thought "trust no one" would logically mean mulder not trusting himself, but to not trust scully? well, this is madness! what have they done to the man?!
i suppose i will have no choice but to stay tuned and see if his mental state improves a bit with the return of the aliens...
i was really excited to start s2 and i took a lot of notes even for me LMAO some of which i cut out because it would take me forevvvver to capture all of my thoughts in even more detail than i have here but-
as the kids say: we are sooooooo back baby!!!!
