I'd honestly love to see how you draw Xangle, the really really niche character that's like a fire-breathing dragon Mangle from the OG FNaF World
Like yk one of those big ol Disney dragons? Mmmmm that but Xangle
Tumblr media
huh somehow I did not know about Xangle, even though I could've sworn I saw all the FNAF World Halloween stuff
But I'm guessing for Disney dragons you primarily mean Maleficent, bc there haven't actually been too many hand-drawn Disney dragons, and she's easily the most well known of them. Plus, fire-breathing and spooky and evil and whatnot. I do like making stuff for underutilized/obscure chatacters, so I'll probably mess with it :>

sunrise on the reaping spoilers under the cut!
I don’t get why people are so pissed off about katniss’s parents being in SoTR? It makes perfect sense with what we know from the trilogy and honestly i was half expecting to see a full love triangle story happen between katniss’s parents + peeta’s dad so what we got seems pretty moderate.
1st, we know from the books that Maysilee was in the games and that she was close friends with Katniss’s mom (Asterid) to the extent that Asterid got Maysilee’s bird after Maysilee’s death. Knowing that Maysilee is a prominent character, it should have been expected that we’d get an Asterid cameo.
2nd, Haymitch mentions in catching fire that Asterid is who they used to take whipping victims to all the time in the old days. This establishes a relationship. Based on the CF conversations, it’s not surprising that Asterid tending whipping victims was mentioned.
3rd, district 12 is tiny. Even in Katniss’s day she knows most of her schoolmates by name and can at least recognize most the people in her district. So it’s not surprising that two seam boys, roughly the same age, who both canonically frequented the Hob would know each other. Thus, Katniss’ father (Burdock) and Haymitch knowing each other makes sense from the original trilogy, especially since we know that Haymitch knew Asterid who of course knew Burdock.
I kinda get people complaining that everything and everyone in Haymitch’s life came back to Katniss, but at the same time I don’t think that was the case? Louella is completely separate, Ampert is separate, Willie is separate, Panache and Silka are separate. I forget her name, but the woman who apprentices Haymitch in the beginning is separate. Lenora Dove is separate. Haymitch had so many people in his life and he lost almost all of them. It’s hard to say they are connections back to Katniss when they are almost all dead
honestly, reading this book, Haymitch reminded me more of Peeta than of Katniss. But to each their own.

SOTR — MY THOUGHTS
I finally finished SOTR and I wanted to give some opinions. I already warn I didn't like it much (and I'm going to explain why), but I didn't hate it. just... meh. this is probably the first and last time I'm going to talk in deep about it besides making one face study or other :) as always, this is just my opinion and pls remember to respect each other's opinions! if you enjoyed the book, good for you! and if you didn't read it yet, read the book to have your own opinions on it!
I want to be fair and start with what I liked in this book:
wyatt and maysilee are great characters! wyatt honestly became my favorite in this book lol (love my little neurodivergent guy) and maysilee was written so funny! to me they honestly carried the book, I was so entertained by them
burdock and asterid 💖 they were so cute, and mind you, I was never invested in everlark or interested in katniss' parents
the little cameo of tam amber and clerk carmine raising a girl was adorable! clerk carmine in general was lovely ngl
beetee's plotline was amazing, despite heartbreaking, and I deeply enjoyed how it was written
wiress' games were SO interesting??? maybe it's me focusing on such a minor detail but I loved it
the whole plot of louella and lou lou was disturbing, maybe the most disturbing I've seen in the whole franchise, and it really struck out to me as a horror element
I understand and appreciate the attempt of trying to pass a political message for a younger audience, because let's be honest, this book was indeed written for a younger audience and there's nothing wrong with it! it's quite simplistic in the way it tries to pass it through, yes, but I recognize it was not written for me and that's okay
before going into what I disliked, I want to point out that I put the blame a bit on myself bc I had some expectations and it's natural to be disappointed when they don't happen (even if I tried a lot to NOT have expectations, I talked about this before in my blog). so read this with a grain of salt because I'm not a casual reader.
this book felt cheap. and when I say cheap, I mean that it doesn't bring new things at all. not thematically, not in worldbuilding aspects. I was already concerned when the book was announced and it was haymitch's pov because this meant it would be too much like the original thg book: a kid in D12 from the seam is reaped and goes through horrific events in the games. and in this case, it feels like a mix between THG and catching fire. and the thing is that I'm not completely against narrating the 2QQ, but there would be other ways to do it with other characters that didn't feel so overused tbh;
still on worldbuilding, it's so disappointing this book doesn't bring anything new to the table regarding panem or the districts' cultures, except for some interesting burial traditions in D12. it's confusing to me that the hunger games are still that undeveloped when it's just 25 years before katniss' games. it seems like such a short time for the efficiency of the capitol change so much. same for characters. I expected this book to have so many interesting characters (specially since we were going to have 48 tributes lol), but we have almost nothing except cameos, and the ones we have (like wyatt and maysilee) felt underused by the narrative;
I know a lot of people say that this book was a bridge between tbosas and og trilogy, but then the bridge was made out of really bad quality wood and it's about to fall at any minute. the connections felt forced and for some reason now half of D12 is covey or related to them (and I say this as someone who loves the covey). some of the connections established here make the og trilogy interactions seem a bit odd;
this book, to me, paints an idea of katniss being some sort of chosen one in thg that made me quite upset. and I don't say that for the covey relations, but oh! she actually reminds haymitch of louella, and oh! she was also the daughter of his best friend, and oh! haymitch also had a private talk about president snow not trusting in birds! the charm of katniss to me, at least, was that she was never a chosen one. she was the right person at the right time. she was a kid used as a tool. but anyway that's just me;
I know the cameos and fanservices are controversial because this book is very on the nose with it. and yeah, it's annoying, but not as annoying as the goddamned snowbaird fanservice on the sheer year of 2025. compared to the og trilogy, snow felt ooc. in tbosas it's justifiable because he's a kid, he's a teen, but here he's pushing 60. why is he telling things like this to a D12? why is he letting so many rebel discourse pass in front of his nose? in thg it felt justifiable that he wouldn't kill katniss because it would clearly turn her into a martyr, but in this, nothing really justifies why he didn't kill haymitch;
if I had the energy, I would do a whole post on lenore dove and why her character is deeply disappointing and honestly shallow (it's specially disappointing when her character is written by a woman, and still, she feels like the trope of the dead girlfriend that doesn't get depth and it's clearly there to haunt the boyfriend). there's an attempt to paint her as a strongly opiniated girl that really didn't work for me because we never get to know lenore dove outside of how haymitch talks about her. her personality felt like mixing sejanus and lucy gray, but without really caring about the nuances of both, and she's clearly an attempt to make lucy gray happen again but without what made her special;
the parallels between katniss and haymitch felt forced imo and it felt like SC was trying so so so hard all the time to convince us that actually he's just katniss but male version. and it's specially sad to me because haymitch, the main character of the whole book, was the most uninteresting one;
how do you make a book about propaganda and hume and doesn't approach career tributes at all? here, they feel exactly how they were in 74th hunger games. WHAT happened? how did they go from scared children trying to run from the arena in the 10th to this?
the writing didn't feel good. the dialogues were too expositive and didn't make sense for some adult characters (like beetee and plutarch) to talk in the way they did. I'm not going deep into this because I didn't read her other saga of books like TUC, but I have friends who pointed out exactly that this doesn't feel like how SC writes.
I want to finish this saying that I've seen some takes around saying that if you dislike or criticize this book, then it's because you didn't focus on the political message regarding propaganda and the characters were used as tools to get the message through. and I'm going to hold some people's hands and tell them to go read political books outside of the hunger games. a book's political message can be valid, but I'm not going to say it was well done or well written just because of it. after all, in the end, a book is still a book, and a book is a work that gets to be judged by its writing and structure.
this book felt like a movie script, and when I say it, I mean it was written structured like one. the way things happen, the amount of quick name drop, the chronology of events. and I say this because books and movies are different medias and are narrated in different ways. I'm going to say that I already thought it was a red flag that when the book was announced, the movie was already confirmed for 2026, but I didn't expect it to be so clear about being written for a movie. bc that's what this book is. it's a book written for lionsgate to produce a new hunger games movie. I've said it before, and I'm going to say it again: the feeling I had is that lionsgate wanted a new movie after tbosas being such a hit in 2024. but oh no! when the book came out, it was so badly received... SC, can you do a safer and much more comfortable for the audience book? one that they for sure will love. and here it is.
I didn't find it downright bad, it's enjoyable at times (the first two chapters were genuinely good imo), but it's at best 2.5 to me. it doesn't work as a standalone work, it doesn't work as part of a trilogy. this may be an unpopular opinion, but I feel like it's being so praised rn bc ppl are still hyped with it coming out (like when you eat too much sugar, yk what I mean?) and it has a lot of cameos and familiar faces. but, in some months, I def think some people will start to change their opinions once more debates rise up.
it's specially sad to me that the og saga proposed itself to criticize the death of children and the issues of entertainment industry, and people spent years saying there wouldn't be a haymitch book because it would go against the point of the trilogy, just then to... get another book about children dying in the most brutal ways (this one in specific is so much more brutal than the others, I have to say, specially with the amount of 12-13 yo tributes that appear).
suzanne collins always writes when she has something to say, but in this, she really only told us she had to pay her bills.

SEVERANCE SEASON 2 FINALE SPOILERS!!!
Holy fuck. They did it. Gemma survived and reunited with Mark.
But then the brutal twist was that innie Mark didn’t go with her. Turns out that Gemma was Orpheus all along - and she lost her Eurydice.
Honestly? I can’t be mad. Innie Mark did the right thing in the end and got her out (and had a fantastic, if not brief, make out session with Ms. Casey which I hope spawns a few fanfics). I was hoping that the two would come to some kind of deal but it was evident since the beginning that both Marks were at an impasse.
I will always be a Mark x Gemma truther but I have to admit that Mark x Helly actually clicked for me this episode. I really get it now.
Do I think they’re gonna have a happy ending? No. They’re both stuck in hell with a very pissed off Jame Eagan and Milchick. Wouldn’t surprise me if this season will be considered “the good old days” for those two.
The end of the episode was so fucking chaotic. My God. It was borderline slapstick comedy with Jame screaming “FUCK” with the vigor of a much younger man and then Dr. Mauer and the creepy nurse running around like penguins with their ass on fire.
The last thing Dr. Mauer said before Mark and Gemma went back up. “You’ll kill them all!”
Ominous. No idea what that means. The innies? Gemma escaping means that their lives are in danger somehow? Or something else entirely. Her escape clearly put a wrench in their plans for mass market severance.
Drummond dying I immediately clocked when I saw Gwendolyn Christie again, and then saw the gun. What a fight. Poor Adam Scott having to film all that, LOL.
The Mark x Gemma reunion scene? Fucked me up real good! I’m so happy they didn’t kill her off and anyone who says that Gemma had to die, I hope you’re enjoying a nice slice of go fuck yourself pie. I’m rewatching it as we speak.
The Mark x Gemma separation scene where innie Mark chooses Helly? Also fucked me up good! Gemma screaming for Mark - Severance writers, I am in your goddamn walls. I’m sure Devon’s waiting outside in a getaway car with Cobel and she’ll explain what’s going on with that.
Gemma surviving means MORE DICHEN LACHMAN. GET HER TO SERIES REGULAR RIGHT NOW FOR SEASON 3. Gemma main character as she plots to get her husband out and burn Lumon down. Orpheus and Eurydice ALL OVER AGAIN. SIGN ME UP.
Other random thoughts:
- Outie Dylan’s response to his innie was really sweet. And what a badass Dylan G turned out to be, helping Helly against an enraged Milchick.
- Disappointed that Milchick didn’t crack in the finale but I suspect it’s happening soon. His remark about the Eagan animatronic’s inaccurate height was hilarious.
- No Irving. Sad.
- Mark x Gemma stocks WAY UP now that she’s survived. You can’t keep a good pairing down, baby. She’ll be looking for Mark, no doubt about it.
- The absolute mind numbing horror of Cold Harbor Gemma being told to dismantle the cradle. Being dressed in the same clothes that she wore the night she died. Lumon really gotta go, bro.
- Mark coming in to rescue her, her innie having no idea who this strange man is. Mark looks the absolute worst, covered in blood, sweating, deranged - but she still trusts him enough to follow him out. Love fucking transcends Severance!!!!
- The big showdown between innie and outie Mark was . . . kinda underwhelming? I thought there would be a lot more back and forth. I wonder if outie Mark knew deep down that if he went into Lumon there was a chance he wouldn’t come back out and maybe that he was okay with it, long as he saw Gemma again. I’m glad innie Mark kept to his word and, like I said earlier, am not really upset that he chose to stay with Helly.
- The whole marching band sequence. Holy shit. Give Tramell Tillman all the awards. It was so bizarre and so well executed.
- NO DEVON AND GEMMA REUNION!!! We gotta wait a while 2 years for these two sisters to be reunited, I AM IN YOUR WALLS DAN ERICKSON.
- Where the hell is Cobel during all of this??? I thought she’d be waltzing in to take back her technology but it seems not? Weird. We’ll probably see more of that next season but no idea what the hell she’s planning.
I’m probably missing a lot but it’s late and I need to rewatch the Mark x Gemma reunion scene until it’s burned into my retinas.
See you all in two years, Severance fandom! I’ll talk about you all fondly to my therapist.

Back at it again in the Krispy Kreme!
Same warnings as before for spoilers
Velimir - honestly? Beta, maybe if you push it he could be an alpha but this man's a whole beta, he's just so mellow honestly, I haven't spoken to him much in the mall honestly (I don't like Minerva) but I think he's the type of guy I'd like to hang around, he's also a really good dad! His entire vibe just gives me beta
Minerva - grade A omega bitch with a capital BBBB, I don't like her honestly! In the few interactions we've had she's just negged/bitched me or another character out, she just has that attitude of a high class omega who got shoved into the military life and had to make a place for herself and ended up acting like all the alphas around her, for better or worse..
Kaya - another beta or just unpresented, all my conversations with her are just kinda normal for a teenager (I kinda see myself in her honestly, acted just like her as a kid lol) and I just don't feel like she really fit into an alpha or omega role, she's there and she's proud of what she is, she doesn't need anyone bossing her around or treating her like a child and that's great that she can admit that, but she also kinda comes off as a petulant little kid sometimes so :/
Flare (+Lizzie) - alpha. Their just an alpha. They could be a beta aswell, but they give me more alpha vibes then anything else, they were the "leader" of their group(or pack in this case) and don't really like giving up control (something they fight Lizzie over), but their also really good at listening to people and realizing what they or others need, instead of hiding away when their bandmates died they stood up and fought against their killers in the only way they really could at the time, through song, and then they got Lizzie and could do a lot more, even though Lizzie scared them shitless and made them feel unsafe in their own skin, Lizzie on the other hand gives me omega honestly, their pushy their shovey, but they also want to keep Flare safe and make sure nothing can hurt them, their bonded in such a way that separating them would seriously injure both partys, and they know literally everything about flare (and in the future flare does learn everything about them) and they know how best to protect them, even if they show it in such a way that scares people away and makes flare look insane, the both of them are a two for one deal and I love them soo much
Again, just my thoughts, but if DE never makes Flare and Lizzie romancable I'm lighting myself on fire and streaming it on LiveLeak
Bro ngl I need to write this but I got ZERO motivation rn (getting burnt out from classes :( it sucks) ((some slight spoilers in here, skip if you haven't gotten to like, idk, rank 4~5))
But like, the hex with a/b/o dynamics, I'm going insane over it rn so
Arthur - TBHHHH he gives me alpha vibes but I know for a fact he's more beta, like he's obviously the leader but he's also sooo like, NORMAL, like he's just a dude, there's nothing really "macho man" about him and I love that so much, definitely a beta but with some skills on the alpha tree barrowed
Eleanor - alpha 100000% you cannot fight me on this, that lady is the real leader of the pack there's absolutely nothing to doubt about that sentence, she's just sooo UGH y'know??? She brings the stability to the pack and takes care of them in a lot of ways
Lettie - she's a beta, ngl I don't pay too much attention to her but just based on the conversations we've had she gives me beta, MAYBE just MAYBE some slight omega vibes with her ferality on healing and taking care of people
Amir - you might question me on this, but he's an alpha, DEFINITELY more of a baby alpha (if we look at how young he is compared to the others) and is definitely more subservient to the others in the pack, he's just a little guy but is so very protective over the people he loves
Aoi - she's an omega, the only omega honestly, but she's more of a beta omega then an omega omega, she's such a complex character once you really know her, she rounds out the cast so well with how she's so serious but also really funny to be around, she brings them together in ways I can't even begin to describe, she also helps amir with feeling like he belongs and I love that
Quincy - beta/omega honestly, DONT HATE ME FOR THIS TAKE PLEASE 😭😭😭 it's just the way I perceived his backstory and how he got into the hex, he went into the military to support his family like [subtle crying] I LOVE HIMMM 😭😭😭 he just wanted to take care of his family and ended up getting turned into a protoframe because of it, while yeahh that COULD make him seem like an alpha, he cares so much about the people around him despite feeling like he shouldn't (see; make me hate u conversation), he goes out of his way to give amir the ability to do things non-violently and to help other people even though before they had their whole "ur like a brother to me" moment, he flat out thought amir wasn't supposed to be with them because he could get hurt or get them hurt, he's just so fucking complex and [braincell explodes] I can't even put it into words
This is just how I see them, someone else might have a COMPLETELY different look at them, but GAAADDD DAAMMMMMMNNNM I need to write this out or like, draw it idk, I need opinions on this pleeeeeassseee tell me what you think I BEG!!!!!

some incredible thoughts from the tags. i wanna specifically build off of the points of: tolerance vs endorsement, an aplatonic reading of tenten, and tenten's aromanticism as the cornerstone of her gender-nonconformity.
in terms of tolerance vs endorsement, i think it's important to look at the context of these depictions. for instance, tenten being bored in boruto era is less a reflection of the narrative's views of her queerness and more a reflection of the narrative's views of adulthood. i mean, all of her peers are ALSO fucking miserable for the most part, and they're all heterosexually married! i have not watched boruto, so this is mostly speculation on my part, but i think the general unhappiness most adult characters experience is written because boruto (and naruto in its later stages tbh) believes that to be a successful adult, you must accept things the way they are, even if they make you unhappy, and because you are not allowed to hope for real, structural change, you will be unhappy. which. is certainly a thing to believe!
rock lee + associates is fascinating on this point, but i'd also argue that it isn't merely tolerating tenten. imo, most occurrences of her being sidelined as a straight man are a result of her being a "girl" rather than aromantic, because reacting to jokes in over-stated manners is a feminine trait. i'm not even making this shit up there's an episode where they tell hinata she needs to react to naruto's nonsense as a straightman to be more appealing to him that role is explicitly feminine. although the narrative does make sure to question tenten's designation as a straight man because. i don't know man.
i'd also dispute the claim that aromantic characters cannot be utilized for comedy. it's pretty easy to make fun of character's lack of romantic interest for a gag- characters like saiki k or jughead from archie comics are based around the "joke" that they don't like girls romantically, and that's funny because it's weird. it would have been pretty easy to do something like that with tenten's failure to uphold societal standards, but instead we get gags where shikamaru is the butt of the joke for suggesting that tenten could be in love with someone. rock lee + associates makes the choice to 1- not play tenten's aromanticism for jokes, 2- acknowledge tenten's aromanticism, and 3- play shikamaru as the joke for challenging her aromanticism.
all that in mind, i still hesitate to categorize this depiction as true endorsement. tenten does not meaningfully challenge the status quo through her queer identity- this is not to say that a-spec identities do not challenge the status quo, but that tenten is not using hers to disturb the norm. that's actually a character trait that tenten displays in other areas of her life (ex: not showing any particular care for the will of fire or any of that shit but keeping on with the child soldier stuff for different, non-patriotic reasons). honestly, more than anything it feels like flat out depiction, with little-to-no commentary about whether it's right or wrong, especially in the og naruto narrative. it's just portraying it as a personality quirk. it's tenten! :P
aplatonic tenten: she's just like me for real
more seriously, this is likely a result of tenten's lack of screentime. there is a weird disconnect between her and her team (possibly because the narrative is incapable of imagining men and women interacting without having some kind of romantic interest inbetween them and so it glitched out and rendered nothing but professional cordiality? idk) and i think that can absolutely be read in an aplatonic way. i don't actually have anything to say i just love aplatonic headcanons teehee
okay finally: back to the problem of her gender. i absolutely agree that her aromanticism is the root of her gender-nonconformity. a lot of naruto's gender frameworks are built in service of heterosexuality! by not engaging with romance, tenten also disengages with gender. this is also an observed real-world phenomenon, wherein a-spec individuals don't "feel" like any specific gender, because so much of gender performance is connected to idealized romantic + sexual experiences. i also think it's interesting that while tenten does not experience romantic attraction for others, others do not experience romantic attraction for tenten. it's a kind of validation of her removal from gender and romance, yk?
okay, so canon gnc traits tenten displays (sticking to og naruto because rock lee + associates got weird on a level beyond what i am currently able to explain teehee) include: bad chakra control/no abilities as a mednin, no romantic attraction, direct and brutal combat skill (fuck ton of knives no jutsu is not a girl skill), no interest in nurturing or children, (cant believe rock lee got to be a single parents before tenten), iirc all of her standard outfits have pants and not skirts/dresses or whatever, and her prioritizing competency/coolness. most of these can be connected to her lack of desire to act feminine for a man and/or are masculine, which is acceptable because being a woman is bad.
i think a safe framework for tenten's gender identity is to say that the cause of it is her aromantism and the reason it is accepted is because it tends to result in her being more "masculine," and the naruto narrative hates women, so it's okay with that. i will continue to believe this until some instance of another woman acting in a masculine way and being shamed comes up 👍
okay okay so hear me out i think that for the most part queerness in naruto falls into 3 categories: accidental, comedic, and villainous, none of which endorse it. comedic and villainous queer-coding actually condemn queerness. not to say that interpretations leaving behind the narrative's biases are flawed, i'm just pointing it out (its a surprise tool that'll help us later). also probably goes without saying but those these kinds of queer-coding aren't unique to naruto.
accidental queer-coding is just that- accidental. queer sexuality is typically a result of the naruto narrative hating women and therefore repeatedly centering male + male relationships, a bit of pandering in some cases (although imo this really only applies to the anime), and a bit of fandom amatonormativity. basically, stuff like naruto and sasuke, where their lack of chemistry with women and continual fixation on each other can easily be read as romantic. queer gender appears less often so i haven't been able to nail down the underlying narrative structures that cause it, but i'm talking about stuff like tenzo/yamato, where he's often read as transmasc due to that anime filler arc that can easily be read as a metaphor for transitioning (cutting his hair, changing his name, ect). the fact that the queerness was accidental doesn't erase the validity of the interpretation, but it does mean that the naruto narrative wasn't endorsing queerness.
comedic queer-coding is just the naruto narrative depicting non-standard gender or sexuality and then pointing and laughing. for instance, kakashi and gai's relationship is often played for laughs. they're "too close" for men, and the narrative expects it to be funny, because that might be gay and comedy can be found in subverting societal expectations. gender-based comedy is similar- naruto turning into a woman is supposed to be funny because he's really a boy. again, the narrative is not endorsing this queerness. it is laughing at it. in some cases, long-term depiction of these kinds of jokes can lead to normalization and therefore lose their comedic impact (see: kakagai marriage or whatever the fuck that was in boruto era) but that's an observed process that happens to long-running gags and doesn't equate to endorsement by the narrative.
villainous queer-coding is the naruto narrative attempting to demonstrate a character's role as an antagonist by depicting them with non-standard gender or sexuality. we know orochimaru is evil because of a lot of reasons, but one of the ways the narrative shows us this is by subtextually implying that he's preying on sasuke. and that's bad because that's gay. according to the narrative. we also see orochimaru play around with gender roles, which further serves to establish his villainy in the narrative. obviously, this is not an endorsement.
there's some overlap between these categories, of course (obito's tobi persona bounces between villainous and comedic queer-coding, for instance, in terms of his feminine behavior). however, as far as i'm aware, there's only one character who can't be sorted into these categories somehow: tenten.
her gender-nonconformity can be sorted into the accidental category, for the most part, because i think a lot of it's a by-product of kishimoto trying to make a strong female character and also her aromanticism. the aromanticism, on the other hand, is directly acknowledged by that narrative. because of that, it can't be accidental, but it is also accepted by the narrative. the fact that tenten does not fall in love is a fact of her personality and identity. i'd like to propose the theory that this happens because tenten is a woman, and the naruto narrative does not respect women. by discarding the perceived feminine flaw of falling in love, tenten is improving her standing in the narrative's eyes, even if doing so requires being queer. this would track with most instances of intentional non-standard gender either being a man acting in a feminine way or a women failing to meet the standards of femininity. because tenten's gender-nonconformity tends to be displayed as her acting in a masculine way, this is considered an improvement by the narrative, and therefore not depicted as a negative aspect of tenten's character. maybe idk i'm not an expert.

nooo like reading maria janion's such comprehensive overview of vampires and what defines a vampire and how the myth changes through times and authors, as entirely expected, has contributed to my regis brainrot.
because though it's obvious how many tropes regis subverts as he literally talks about himself, it's more overwhelming when they're all summarized focused on examples from across history and the literature canon, and pretty much hitting none of them or fucking with all of them. because it's not that he just doesn't fit in within his own fantasy universe, but that he doesn't fit in within the broader canonical definition...
"my personal vision of fantasy (...) he is not the typical vampire bloodsucker, according to the dictates of the canon" ... uggghhhh sapkowski, in his witcher, by challenging all genre expectations and tropes, creates all of these characters that don't fit in anywhere, neither in their universe or in the broader canon. and thus, can only find fraternity with each other
i was just reading like 'so... so he doesn't fit in *anywhere*... 🥺'. regis in baptism of fire explaining how he doesn't conform to either vampiric expectations of vampires (socially, for his personal principles) nor of human expectations of vampires (biologically, for his literal existence). but it even goes farther when you look beyond the witcher and to the broader literary and mythological canon. in practically every understanding of a vampire he would not be recognized as one of them... and does he even want to.

zeno's ultimate pokemiku tierlist ⁉️(it's all his opinion and he loves them all regardless⁉️)
#like arrfgggdiakaktmcksmsama this was literally all for me like they knew what they were doing#i love character design i love pokemon i love miku. and then you put ALL THREE TOGETHER....#i will explain some of my choices here#poison miku is just too good but also i am a big sucker for freaky scientists with constant “worry” eyebrows#her design is just so out there and crazy (this is about the shoes. some understand the greatness of the shoes and some dont. and thats ok.)#every other miku in peak i think establishes their theme exeptionally well especially ghost bug and fighting#for ghost i already love spooky and gloomy looking characters and that miku delivers tenfold (of course shes designed by the GOAT take)#esp with the mix of ghostly and electronic/digital regarding the glitchy parts n the 01 hologram#she looks like shell invade my computer and give it a virus if i dont send the chainmail about her tragic file corruption to 10 friends#(in the best way possible)#for bug miku the big dress is a huge plus but also i just think shes adorable nuff said#for fighting - i love a delinquent character and she fits that really well. the half coat thing is a big highlight for me#also the leek theme is absolutely iconic#for the ones i didnt like as much - i honestly just think the koraidon one is a leeeeetle bit boring#dont get me wrong. it has really cool aspects like the hair and the koraidon like cape but idk#it feels like theres a lot going on but not that much at the same time? its still a really nice design tho esp the hair color#for the ones in yellow tier - i just dont like the color palletes very much . theyre still really nice designs esp fire miku#but all in all these are genuinely all amazing designs and i dont want to be too critical or mean to any of them esp seeing im not a pro#but this was really fun to see unfold!!! cant wait until the songs start dropping#in the topic of miku as well - hey muse dash where's my miku on the switch version....#please dont make us wait too long 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

I mentioned the other day I would love if Game Freak made a way to be able to battle yourself from the opposite version (I was thinking I want Rose my Scarlet player character, a femboy with red hair, red eyes and an orange suit, and Lavender my Violet player character, a girl with purple hair, purple eyes and a purple suit, to be able to meet and battle) but what would be even more chaos (and I’m sure two random school kids discovering that their definitions of “Paradox Pokémon” isn’t broad enough is already pretty chaotic. Well, Rose’s probably is but Lavender is going to have to broaden hers significantly with how little some of the Past Paradox Pokémon play with the “Pokémon but Dinosaur” theme. I was kinda imagining that she only sees the Proto Beasts though so she can probably leave it quite inaccurate for now. That said she has a Mystery Gift Flutter Mane so she’s probably already aware that the Past Paradox Pokémon aren’t all dinosaurs okay that’s enough roasting the Past Paradox Pokémon for now that’s not what this post’s meant to be) would be if (assuming I get Z-A) I let them meet my future Z-A protagonist (I’m gonna assume they’re female because I have no rules for if I get a version not in a pair and as a demiwoman that’s the closest. She’s also probably got the more interesting design. I’m also assuming she’s got green as her uniform colour and just general hair colour and eye colour if possible. We’ll see tomorrow if I’m right to assume the default outfit is a green uniform). Like this random resident of Lumiose City that probably just randomly landed a job at the age of 16 at the oldest and has probably angered a local snake in the process accidentally gets too close to one of the local myths (I’m talking about Hoopa here, though I wouldn’t be surprised if the other two get there by Terapagos so maybe Diancie would’ve been a better choice here) discovers two school kids with surprisingly similar uniform shapes (but not perfect and I love Scarlet and Violet for that) but completely different colours, with the femboy with red hair and an orange suit chilling with three Pokémon the Lumiose City resident can only assume are Mega Evolutions of the Legendary Beasts (although why Suicune is now a clumsy theropod dinosaur with a much lower IQ and Raikou now has a stupidly long neck is anyone’s guess. At least Entei vaguely makes sense but was it really this feral before?) while the purple one is chilling with three of what the Lumiose City resident can only assume are robot knockoffs of the Swords of Justice (but aren’t they prettier?). The worst part (of the Lumiose City resident) is that when she asks where to find and obtain those unusual variations of Legendaries she’s basically told “you can’t get them, not even through HOME because it’s illegal to obtain them in Z-A but at least we can brag about our cool Pokémon to you lol”. The Lumiose City resident then swings things the other way by bringing out a Zeraora as well as bragging that Rose and Lavender’s favourites don’t have Megas
