Eldritch/not-entirely-human Grunkle Stan stories have been eating away at my brain, so I have a silly little concept of Mimic!Stan.

He and his Mystery Shack are both mimics that lure tourists in as a literal "tourist trap" to gather and devour them! Since the house is alive, it raises a few (read: several) child safety concerns that lead to a LOT of rules to be created for Dipper and Mabel to follow when they eventually arrive, such as:

Be careful not to get lost in the winding hallways! The Mystery Shack is bigger on the inside, and you don't want to end up in the wrong areas.

Don't go through randomly appearing doors, they may eat you.

If you think you feel the walls around you breathing and the floor beneath you shifting, no, you don't.

If you think the walls feel a bit damp, you're imagining it.

Watch your fingers around windowsills! You wouldn't want to lose any of them.

Don't linger too long under the doorframes; it may start feeling like they are slowly constricting around you.

calikiwi are opposites in most ways but i think one that i enjoy thinking about the most is that their sleep schedules are so drastically different... we see snipes sleeping just sitting up with his head tilted back like a dad on the couch pretty frequently, so to me he seems like the type who can (and will) fall asleep anywhere, so long as he's not on the job. which is probably the result of how he works, anyways. gotta get your rest where you can!

for fossey though, they sleep very little and don't really nap at all, either. ever since i was very tiny I've always had trouble falling asleep, my brain is always racing and just can't ever slow down enough for me to actually get to bed unless i take melatonin or am so completely exhausted that i just Collapse. when i was little this was very annoying, since i would stay up until well after my mom went to bed (which was a VERY LATE TIME for a 5 year old to be up!!!) just laying in bed Waiting for my thoughts to slow down. since fossey is Just Me she's the same way, though since his schedule is more demanding they probably only get like 2-3 hours a night and manage to function off of that. probably pulls a lot of all nighters too

but i like to imagine that fossey actually feels a lot calmer around him and their mind doesn't race as much... perhaps even enough to actually fall asleep around him...... or on his shoulder. who's to say

not to sound elitist but like when people talk about pit madness like it’s canon i always question whether they actually like jason or if they just want a “bad boy”

I think they like Jason they just want a more palatable clear cut good version of him - saying he was possessed by the lazarus pit provides a easy out even tho it makes no sense and quite frankly takes alot away from Jason's character imo - all of Jason's actions are his own there's no mythical goop whispering at him to do fucked up things - I especially hate it when people use it as a Jason wouldn't actually hurt tim if he was in his right mind like I think the titans tower fight is stupid and don't acknowledge it but I still don't deny that Jason would still not hesitate to hurt tim bc hes willing to hurt people around Bruce to mess with him and that's fucked up but its just how Jason is - alot of people use it though bc it is just easy it's easier then actually writing a Jason who's unhinged and genuinely wants to harm certain bats it's easier to sympathise with and its a easier way to end a story with everyone now a happy family
