a rewritten idea for KT to have her be a puzzle piece of the chosen one, Osirian triangle. like Eddie was having dreams about her only for her to be Frobisher-Smythe great-granddaughter and not useful. like make her an isirain or key or goddess(?) orsomething

Note
Rank the house of Anubis characters. RANK THEM.
Okay, I let this ask sit in my inbox for a while because, like the other people you sent this too, it comes off pretty rude and pushy. Please remember that when you're sending asks, especially one anon, your tone can't come through the screen. I don't know if you were trying to be rude, or if you were just excited, so just know that next time I get an ask like this, I won't be responding. I'm sure you didn't mean for it to sound like that, please just try to be mindful.
I was also going to be mean back and swerve around the question by ranking the society members, or the teachers, or the villains, but I actually would love to rant about my faves so....here :)
12. I know everyone knows this already, but my least favorite character is Willow, I think it would have been very easy to write her out completely, I don't really care about her and Alfie's relationship, and just in general she makes me very overstimulated and in need of breaks. I love her endless positivity, but I don't really like many of her storylines, like the fact she's related to Joy, or the hedgehog fleas thing. I don't hate her, but if I went to school with her I would be avoiding her, and I say that as someone who many people would probably consider very similar to Willow. I'm sure I overwhelm people in the same way, so I am not trying to be mean or rude when I say that talking to her would be so exhausting.
11. Mick. I mean this with all peace and love, but when you love 11/12 of the main characters on a show, someone has to end up on the ends of the list. Mick is one of those characters for me. I loved his storyline about going against his dad (One of the few parents we see on the show!), I love just his general chill laid-back vibes and slight ditziness, but he left after season two, and because he left so early in season two, it felt like he wasn't there at all for that season either. I think his relationships made sense, being with Amber at first for social image, then getting with Mara as an impulse decision before realizing they aren't really meant for each other. It feels very teen. I think out of all of the characters, Mick is the one most grounded in reality, and I love that for him.
10. Eddie. Don't come for me, I beg. But hear me kindly when I say this...Eddie is just a combination of Jerome and Alfie, with slightly more street smarts and knowledge. Like, the gross food eating, the prank wars with Patricia, the suave attitude with daddy issues, the show KNEW he was so similar to them, but for some reason they didn't want to go for a Patricia x Alfie thing, and you know what, I respect that. Also totally obvious is my dislike for him being the Osirian (Even Mick would have made for an interesting Osirian if his actor didn't need to leave). BUT, I appreciate the relationships he grows with both Patricia, Mara, and his father. His and Mara's friendship are barely talked about :(
9. Alfie. Please don't kill me, please. I love Alfie, but I love the entire cast and I'm just trying to be honest here. Anyway, he had a vaguely interesting storyline for like two episodes of season one, but besides that he's fairly drama free. I love his character development, and I especially love the crush he and Piper had on each other. I also appreciate his more subtle friendships with characters like Patricia and Nina, compared to the louder relationships he had trying to court Amber, and the falling out with Jerome. He is all together an amazing character, and a solid friend.
8. Mara. I was genuinely shocked to find out that she's one of the most hated characters in the current fandom (At least Joy's not as hated as she was during the show, but poor Mara). I love Mara's character, her storylines, and her attitude. She was such a good friend to both Patricia and Eddie, she was on par with Amber's attitudes during the movie as she added herself into Sibuna without asking (Slay), and just everything about her was great! I admittedly do not like the season one storyline about Mick and the pictures, but the Vera storyline, ghost hunting storyline, and cheating plotline were all perfect. And yes, that last one is in fact why Mara won out over Alfie. Tasie's acting was fucking INCREDIBLE throughout all of season three leading up to her breakdown about Jerome. The whole revenge plotline was a little silly, but it made sense that for a teenager who doesn't know about the kidnappings, deaths, and ancient curses, this was the worst thing that could happen to her. My heart breaks for her, again the ACTING as Mara is crying and taking the things that Jerome had given to Joy. Utterly perfect.
7. Amber. PLEASE. DON'T. HURT. ME. Like Alfie, Amber is so drama free on the show, and I love that for her, I love her attitude, her loyalty. She is THE first member of Sibuna but if I'm being honest she's lowkey tied with Mara because I just love Mara so much. Past that, just like Alfie, Amber is an amazing friend on the show, she has a lot of great lines, AMAZING outfits, and I especially love her in season three right before she leaves. I also love Amber not for what she is, but for the popular headcannons the fandom has about her mother dying when she was young. I don't know, but something made up by a fandom clearly means enough to me to make her come out on top compared to Mara. But again, she is so drama free after the little spat with Mara that I can't even think of an interesting plotline about just her. Like, she had the Mick/Mara fight, which did lead to a very good Student Rep episode but like...that was one of her most interesting plotlines, and it just doesn't compare to other ones the show had going on. Season three was about to be HER season, and then she LEFT :,(
6. Patricia. Patricia is a little rough for most people to get through those first few episodes (In my opinion) but if you stick with her long enough for Rufus to start appearing she becomes AMAZING. I dislike a lot of her attitude but at the same time I love it to bits, if that makes any sense. This girl had AMAZING plotlines! The entire first season with Rufus, a secret twin, being the only one all in for Joy for the longest time before Sibuna realized something was seriously wrong. I love love love her friendship with Mara so so much (I feel like I say that all the time but APPRECIATE THEM DAMNIT). This is a weird opinion but I think Peddie is endgame, but I really don't care about their relationship. Like, they have such cute moments and I ship them, but oh my god do I need a break from them. (I think it's the repetition. There's only so many times you can throw soap/carrots/literal shit at someone before it starts to grate). I did not like the jealous act of season three but I understand it was somewhat necessary for the Sinner plotline. Also, I fucking love Sinner Patricia, so I can look past that. I love when Patricia is a vulnerable character, she is just so multifaceted and just...good. Love her to bits.
5. KT. Just to get this out of the way because we all already know, the great grandpa shit was fucking annoying but I also get her. Her grandpa just died and she was desperate to know more of her history and about the family that was supposed to love her. Leaving that at that. Anyways, I LOVE my girl KT. This girl is near to being on par with Jerome when it comes to facial expressions, especially early in season three. Also, I love her name, never understood why anyone in the fandom hated it. I like her friendship with Eddie, I like her completely obvious crushes on Amber and Joy even more. I love her personality and style, I never once thought of her as a replacement Nina like some of the fandom did in the earlier days. Also, her entire dynamic smack dab in the middle of the sinners plotline was BEAUTIFUL. The distrust and pointing fingers, my girl was speedrunning through the salem witch trials and she came out on top like a champ. So glad she finally got to meet Nina in the reunion special, I feel like she would also have a crush on her.
4. Fabian. I love this idiot nerd with all my heart. The inability to speak to women, the freakouts he has <3. Brad is so good at acting the different kind of mental breakdowns, like, Nina Leaving breakdown is a completely different vibe than Frobisher Is In My Room breakdown and they are both fantastic. That scene alone has me convinced he would be GREAT to kidnap. I love his plotlines and personality, I love his snarky little shit personality just barely below the surface. How he acts like a parent to the group and is completely incompetent. Ten out of ten character all around.
3. Nina. My girl was being put through the wringer and she was slaying her mental breakdowns just as much as Fabian. Nathalia is such a pretty crier, I die. A lot of her plots were very mystery related, but OH MY GOD THE CURSING PLOTLINE WAS FANTASTIC. Season Two was hers for the taking and she was treating it like a runway. Love her relationships with her friends, and even the relationship she was able to slowly build with Joy before leaving the show. Also, she and Joy were SLAYING those matching dresses, we love girlfriends who coordinate. She is such a solid character throughout the show, and I love her so much. 10/10.
2. Joy. I actually wrote her name down third, and then I just stared at it for the longest time, and I was like...wait do I like Joy more than Nina? And I was thinking about the entire show in retrospect, with all the character arcs and plotlines, and I erased Joy's name, and put Nina in third. So. Yeah. Anyways, Joy is basically a noncharacter in Touchstone, but she is absolutely NOT a noncharacter in the first season. Her few appearances were so...good. For one (I've said this before) Joy was already so tiny compared to her classmates. But then she's kidnapped in the first episode, and all you ever see of her later, she's being loomed over by these adults that are actively putting her in danger, even if they don't know it. She looks like a fucking baby in the scenes she's in, and my heart breaks for her. Her attitude in season one is also very despondent and almost just in acceptance of her fate. She can't warn her friends, she can't tell them what she really wants to say, she's just stuck. Her mental health is so fucked with and in the end its' all for nothing.
Also, and I will say this just once, but Patricia was fucking WRONG for saying that "Fabian wasn't Joy's to begin with". I agree with Patricia, they were never really dating and Fabian doesn't belong to Joy, but even from the few scenes in the first episode, we know Patricia is a massive fucking hypocrite because SHE was clearly trying to push them into dating, and if Joy hadn't disappeared there might have been a chance for them to date. There might not, but I just wanted to get that off my chest, that they were clearly heading in that direction. And that's another reason I LOVE Joy's character, because she perfectly embodies the whump trope of "I was taken and when I made it out of that situation, I was the one who stayed the same. The other people around me changed but I am still exactly who I was before I left, and yet they are treating me like I am the one who is so different". I FUCKING LOVE THAT TROPE.
Fuck I've only done her for season one (Haven't even said all my thoughts on that), and I still have so much more to say. I will just stop now before I cry and this becomes a 10,000 word essay.
Jerome. You fuckers all saw this coming. I don't even think I can put everything down without sounding like an idiot fangirl so I will ignore his looks and plotlines and keep it short and sweet. I love that he has depth, I love how he evolves and changes over the show, I love the fact this idiot teen was wearing suits to casual events, he is so clearly gay and we stan. Also, his relationships with EVERY character on the cast were so engaging and fun, from Alfie to Amber to Mick to Victor to Rufus to Nina. I still can't get past the fact that he called Nina "Auntie Nina" when Alfie is a little kid how fucking ADORABLE IS HE?! I love him with all my heart, literally kicking my feet as I type this lol.

AU: Joy is the Chosen One & Patricia is her Osirian
Okay this is based off this post of mine, and I’ve been thinking about it a lot since. This is just gonna be bullet points and fragmented ideas, so if someone wants to write something along these lines fully, feel free! This goes of any of my other AUs, like my Fabian is Victor’s protege AU. Basically what I’m saying is if anyone talented wants to get creative, I’m very much cheering you on!
Anyway, without further ado, here is the AU:
Right around the same time as Mr. Sweet is gathering up the Descendants, he comes to the realization that Joy Mercer is in fact the Chosen One. Born on the right day, the right time— all of it.
Without clueing Victor into his role as the Seeker (since that’s none of his business at the time), Mr. Sweet informs his Society leader that he’s found the Chosen One.
So when the four students on the Candy Scholarship get to school, they’re all four placed in Anubis House: Joy, Patricia, Alfie, and Jerome.
Victor is beyond delighted to have the Paragon in his sights only a few years before the Chosen Hour, and he makes sure to keep her close by and unharmed from anyone who might want to exploit the Chosen One (only he’s allowed to do that, thanks).
Rufus is long gone at this point, though of course, he’s just in hiding. But the Society assumes he’s dead since he hasn’t come sniffing around in quite some time.
Right away, Joy and Patricia are thick as thieves, and the adults take notice of Patricia’s protective nature immediately.
They aren’t positive Patricia’s the Osirian— there is no bloodline marker or any special indicator to confirm or deny it one way or the other, after all. And the Osirian is typically a masculine figure— but Victor has his suspicions, keeping a watchful eye over both of them.
Naturally, disaster strikes everywhere the girls go, but they don’t give a singular shit, because growing up in a boarding school far away from your blood family, you tend to forge a different sort of bond.
Joy was a sensitive child, and before she became as popular as she was pre-S1, she faced constant ridicule from the other students for things like carrying a stuffed bunny with her to school.
Patricia got in so many fights on Joy’s behalf, it was only by the grace of her future role in the eclipse ceremony she wasn’t expelled and thrown in juvenile detention.
Both the girls have vivid dreams and nightmares, but because Sarah and Rufus are still alive, neither of them have fully come into their destined roles.
Despite oddities here and there, Joy and Patricia function as normal pre-teens most of their school life. They went to town together, watched movies together, signed up for the same classes, painted each other’s nails, shared secrets, and did all the normal things normal best friends do.
Of course, as the mythology states, if the Chosen One and Osirian are in close proximity to each other, trouble is sure to follow. A burst lightbulb here, a small fire there. One time, Amber’s curling iron short circuited and blew every fuse at the school after Joy and Patricia used it for a school dance. Little things that could be written off as coincidence, but when combined, put the Society on edge.
Until one day, two weeks into a new school term…
The Chosen Hour fast approaches, and there are whispers that Rufus has resurfaced. Though skeptical, the Society doesn’t want to dangle the carrot that is Joy Mercer, the Paragon, out in the open for Rufus to kidnap, so the Society does it first. Joy is removed from school, and erased from the records without a trace.
Mr. Sweet thinks they ought to inform Patricia, just in case she does happen to be Joy’s divine protector (he’s still not convinced his own son isn’t the Osirian, but he doesn’t tell Victor that).
Victor orders him and the other Society members to tell Patricia no such thing. He does it to see if his long-held theory was correct, and because he knows that if she is the Osirian, Patricia would do everything in her power to thwart the building of the Cup.
So when Nina arrives, Patricia is going ballistic, because why does she feel so lost and confused? She can just tell that Joy is afraid, tell that she needs her, but she can’t find Joy. And now, here’s this random girl who seems to have taken Joy’s place.
Nina still finds Sarah, and because Sarah can sense that Nina is just a kind, pure-of-heart girl (with a birth date very similar to the actual Chosen One), Sarah entrusts the locket to Nina with the instruction to find the one who can use it.
Meanwhile, Patricia is searching high and low, met with increasingly bullshit excuses as to where her best friend has gone.
She comes into contact with Rufus, who immediately clocks that this girl is exactly like him and can lead him to the Paragon.
He gains her trust and begins to slowly but surely manipulate her into doing his dirty work.
Patricia and Nina actually become cool way faster in this AU because the moment, Patricia touches the locket, it starts glowing. Nina’s like “oh, damn I guess this is yours.”
A lot of the same exact stuff that happens in S1 happens in this AU except that Patricia is the one able to use the locket. Sibuna still forms, and Nina still is de facto leader since she’s good at getting shit done and is slightly unhinged, but Patricia is one hundred percent the brawn of the operation.
She still gets kidnapped, still has all those crappy things happen to her, but now there’s a tiny voice in the back of her head guiding her through the motions.
Rufus mentions something about how their destinies align, and Patricia is like “bruh you’re crazy” but something in her knows it’s not as bonkers as it sounds.
Flash forward, Joy buys them time by very slowly building the Cup of Ankh, and Fabian and Alfie pull the same trick, so it all works out relatively the same.
Patricia and Joy are the ones to hide the Cup.
Victor is now certain that Patricia is an Osirian-to-be, and he fears what Rufus still being alive out in the world now means for Joy. She’s a full Chosen One, but her own Osirian isn’t able to fully protect her until Rufus is dead.
In the S2 plot, Joy functions as more of a Noa type character— aka: she stays the hell out of Sibuna stuff. She and Nina are still fighting over Fabian, but there’s less hurt there because there isn’t any bitterness about Joy being kidnapped for nothing, since she actually is the Chosen One.
Still, they don’t get along all that much.
Patricia is the one to get targeted by Senkhara first, because she goes to check on the Cup. She demands to know who the Chosen One is, and of course Patricia is like “lol no kys”
So she gets marked, of course, and Senkhara hates this petulant Osirian bitch. Like seriously, why doesn’t she do what she asks? Doesn’t she know her life is on the line? So she curses Piper into a coma lol. That’ll keep Patricia in line.
Nina, being the team player she is, agrees to pretend to be the Chosen One to spare Joy for Patricia’s sake. Senkhara believes it and marks her too, which of course means that Fabian, Amber, and Alfie soon follow.
A lot of the same nonsense happens Sibuna-wise, just with Patricia getting her shit mostly rocked by Senkhara (and Nina catches smoke too)
Knowing now that Eddie is safe to reconnect with, Mr. Sweet has his son enroll at school.
Patricia and Eddie are immediately beefing for all the same reasons as canon.
It’s harder for Patricia to juggle that with Sibuna, though, considering her increased role.
She still doesn’t know what an Osirian is though. She just knows that Joy is the Chosen One, and she’d rather die than see her hurt.
Still, she and Eddie are constantly bickering (flirting), and Joy’s oblivious ass is obsessed with this ship.
Patricia and Eddie get together way earlier on in the timeline of the season, after he gets brought into the Sibuna nonsense almost right away when he’s the one to save Patricia from falling down the chasm.
So now all of Sibuna (plus Eddie) is trying to find the Mask, while keeping Senkhara away from Joy, which works for a while until it doesn’t.
Joy discovers everything that Nina’s done for her once Sibuna asks her to help with the Senet game. (Patricia was very against clueing her in at all, but she was outvoted)
Joy feels super bad for her treatment toward Nina and you KNOW she put aside the baggage and was like “we are besties now and I’m gonna save you even if you totally stole my boyfriend.”
Anyway, a lot of the same stuff happens, but Senkhara discovers that Joy is the actual Chosen One and makes her wear the Mask.
Nina takes the hit for Fabian in this, and Patricia uses the crown to un-possess Joy.
Rufus rocks up, and Eddie steps in to beat the shit out of the guy who kidnapped his girlfriend. Eventually tho Rufus overpowers him and puts on the Mask.
Bye, Rufus!
Piper’s awake again! Happily ever after.
Holy shit! Now Patricia’s a full Osirian, and Joy is a full Chosen One! Wowza. Now what?
Well, bad shit starts happening more frequently. Nothing crazy, but more blown fuses, more burst lightbulbs, more small fires.
Mr. Sweet is panicking bc he needs both Joy and Patricia for this ceremony, but everyone knows that trouble always follows a Chosirian duo.
Maybe nothing bad will happen tho…?
Anyway, Patricia and Eddie don’t break up, and Nina and Amber stick around. Basically all the same stuff happens in S3 as it does in canon except Patricia’s the Osirian, and Sibuna is unified from the jump. Joy stays in Sibuna in this AU too.
KT and Patricia are fast friends, and Joy and KT hit it off immediately.
The eclipse ceremony is unsuccessfully thwarted, and RFS is as shitty as ever.
Eddie gets captured as a Sinner immediately because of course he does, and he is very much the same as Sinner!Patricia, except he targets both Nina and KT to destabilize two romantic relationships in the group (and also attack the Chosen One where it hurts: her gf)
Nina also gets captured as a Sinner, who catches Fabian, who catches Amber. Oops.
Now it’s Sibuna (Joy, Patricia, Alfie, and KT) vs Team Evil (Frobisher, Victor, Denby, Eddie, Nina, Amber, and Fabian).
World is saved eventually, but boy does it almost go so wrong.
Anyway, TOR is the same but Patricia “dies” instead, which means that Joy is officially the final Chosen One.
Everything ends pretty chill I guess. This got very lackluster toward the end I’m sorry there’s so much to cover

☕️ + mr sweet and eddie?
im so sorry this is 90% dissing sweet sldkfjsl
mr sweet isn't 100% evil or anything but he's a shit dad and no excuse he gives can negate that tbh. he spends so much of s2 trying to "fix" eddie's behavior, despite the fact that he's a teacher and should realize that a lot of eddie's antics were literally just for attention from him. and then when eddie finds out he's the osirian, sweet uses that as an excuse instead of properly apologizing – after all, if they were going to keep joy hidden away for a year anyway, there was no reason for eddie to be kept away (especially since they knew the date of the ceremony well in advance—why did sweet just ignore eddie for 16 years then??) and with season 3…man he pisses me off so so much. eddie's destroyed at the thought of his dad being involved in the society and his dad apparently didn't tell him anything about anything over the summer (despite promising to) so that doesn't help. and yeah like you said, the kids could've been a lot less sneaky about things to help their credibility, but idk if my son is deliberately meddling in something super important to me, i'd wonder why and try and figure that out instead of ignoring, gaslighting, or punishing him time and time again (especially since doing so would make my life so much easier!!). and ik it was played off as a joke almost but what kind of father just assumes their kid is faking illness and *sends them off in an ambulance* instead of a) double-checking they're truly faking (like. the eclipse breakfast had completely disappeared and it's not out of the realm of possibility for eddie to be behind that), and then b) trying to figure out why/having an actual conversation/not sending him to a fucking hospital all by himself. and then he has the gall to expect instant forgiveness after all that + the expulsions (which he didn't even bother to come say goodbye for)??? tl/dr; mr. sweet did nothing but pretend to show him love and affection before pulling it away the minute eddie stepped out of line, and it's heartbreaking.
god like if sweet knew the osirian had to be sacrificed in tor before the events of tor, i wouldn't have been surprised if he acted like eddie dying was nbd for the "greater good".

Let's try this again - Touchstone Edition
Alrighty post-show Touchstone of Ra headcanons let's goooooo
Shipping-wise: Fabian x Mara: They date for the remainder of their time at school, parting amicably because they're going to different schools. They date over the summer and long-distance for a little while. Eventually, they drift apart but remain friends. Fabian helps Mara realize the importance of dating someone who values her smarts. He also helps her be a better person. (stuck this out because Mara is a decent person in ToR). Mara helps Fabian become more confident in his intelligence.
Fabian x Nina: Okay here me out. Nina drops off the face of the planet, but Fabian doesn't forget her. Not really. Nina ends up getting invited to a 10-year reunion and goes (because that whole Osirian and Chosen One not being able to see each other thing is dumb and we all know it). At the reunion, they rekindle the flamesssss, and then they're married like a year later because they can actually focus on themselves.
Patricia x Eddie: They date forever and get married a few years into Uni. They have great adventures because Eddie IS still was the Osirian, but the heroics and love for adventure are second-nature to him. Once Nina and Fabian reunite they have double save the world dates. This imagined reunion that exists in my brain also has its own adventure idk if I'll ever flesh it out w/e.
Alfie x Willow: They date for a while, going to the same university, but also part amicably. I do like them together, but don't really have further comments.
Alfie x Piper: They coincidentally end up at the same uni. They start dating a couple of semesters in start out as friends while Alfie and Willow are dating but end up together a semester or so after Alfie and Willow break up. They end up getting married after graduating. They mostly stay out of the world-saving-shennanigans, but Patricia and Eddie, and Nina and Fabian, have used their house as a place to crash multiple times.
Joy x Jerome: They part ways after high school amicably, but they keep in touch. After a few years, they decide to pick up where they left off, date another year or so, then end up getting married.
Plus a couple individual headcanons:
Amber: She does become successful in the fashion business. She ends up studying fashion history as well. No one can quite keep up with her genius and she always keeps the fashion world on its toes. She's also very kind to everyone who works for her. She sends her world-saving besties great pieces all the time because it is IMPORTANT to look good while saving the world. Her conveniently designed pockets have probably helped them more times than they can count.
KT: Finishes up school in the UK, and eventually returns to the US for college. She is given Nina's contact information, and they become good friends. She ends up becoming a high school history teacher in the US and her students know her for the glint she gets in her eye when she talks about ancient Egypt. She inspires kids to care about their pasts and where they come from - both family-wise and culturally.
Victor: He travels the world, and because I say so, he does perfect the elixir of life (sans human sacrifice, thanks). He actually becomes an aid and ally to grown-up Sibuna (although it really took convincing for Nina and Victor to actually get along). He remains the keeper of the stone for a few more decades or centuries or whatever, but eventually gets too tired of existence and relinquishes the elixir and its recipe to either adult Sibuna or Nina and Fabian's kid or something.
Bonus - the New Sibunas: The house still has many secrets that the new kiddos discover. The new core three inherit the Locket and everything. The adventures and secrets are MOSTLY less life-threatening, but still enough to keep them on their toes :).

Director's cut on anything from the more you think of me the more i'll manifest? 👀
first of all—you know the way to my heart. thank you for asking about this, my babiessss.
second of all—i took a long moment to think about what i wanted to discuss here bc everything that was coming to mind isn’t OUT yet gkdnfkgk. but finally i landed on *drum roll* the last email.
Eddie,
I know my previous email seemed like the end of a chapter, like I closed our book. And I had every intention of leaving it like that, I promise you. But I can’t.
There’s something about us. Some connection that, in my head, goes deeper than our supernatural tether. Maybe it’s because we’re both American and that gives us some shared experiences, or because neither of us have had normal childhoods growing up with odd families. Maybe it’s because of how “warmly” we were welcomed to Anubis in our respective beginnings. Ha.
It’s not that I don’t feel a connection to Fabian, or that I doubt yours to Patricia. This just seems stronger to me, somehow. Like I never have to try too hard to get my point across to you. And that means something to me. YOU mean something to me. Not just because you were my first, but because you being my first felt right. Morally it wasn’t, but in the moment… in the moment I didn’t question anything about it.
This has been gnawing at me ever since the wedding. It won’t go away. And I know this is completely unprofessional and will only serve to muddle things further, but I had to get it off my chest.
I probably won’t even send this, honestly. I can’t do that to you. I can’t do that to myself.
So, in the spirit of typing things I’ll never say, here’s another: I wish we’d met two years ago. I wish I’d seen you before I headed off to Amun, or that you decided to arrive at the same time. I wish Joy had stayed long enough for my attraction to Fabian to die off, or that your thing with Patricia didn’t start. I just… I wish for the start we’ll never know we could’ve had. I wish things weren’t so complicated.
But you’re my Osirian, and I’m your Chosen One, and that has to count for something, doesn’t it?
It does to me.
Have a wonderful year.
Nina.
so the thing w this is nina sent it in a moment of weakness, back when she still thought she wasn’t going to back to anubis. it even directly states that she wasn’t going to send it and then she decided to. she fully intended for this to be the last mode of communication—and it looked like it was, bc eddie didn’t respond to it. but of course, he read it, he was freaking out over it, and nina came back to anubis anyway.
this email is included at the end of part two, but it happened before, meaning every interaction nina and eddie have throughout part two is after this email. every time they’re beside each other, doing sibuna activities, or paired up for school projects, they’re aware of this.
eddie brings it up during the trust fall exercise and nina is absolutely BLINDSIDED bc she assumed they’d never discuss it. she’s still w fabian and everything w eddie happened during that, and despite how intensely they jump back into cheating it’s not something she wants to be doing to fabian. the email represents everything nina can’t let go of in regards to eddie. she can try to put it behind them and keep things in a chosen one/osirian manner, but she still sent that email and she still feels that connection that she detailed in it. it was always going to catch up to her.
the second time eddie brings it up they’re in the tunnels, and it ends with them making out and effectively restarting what they’d begun at the wedding. here it’s nina’s pov again, but we get this interaction:
“If what I said bothered you so much then why didn’t you respond?”
“Because I didn’t have to!”
“Why? Why didn’t you have to?”
for eddie, the email is what pushes him to make that decision, to rationalize that what he feels isn’t one-sided and—morality aside—he can’t just ignore it. so he doesn’t. he doesn’t respond verbally but kisses her instead, and from then on the email is just the catalyst, the straw that broke the camel’s back, and it’s not brought up again bc they addressed it. they’re doing something about it. they’re together, whether they’ll phrase it that way or not.
my favorite part of all of this is throughout 02. out of habit they’re both attempting to stay away from each other and get back to “normal,” but unbeknownst to the audience nina’s already laid everything out for them. eddie says he didn’t respond bc he didn’t think he had to, as in he feels the exact same way. so no matter how they tried to distance themselves and put up a front of JUST the chosen one and osirian, they were always barreling towards more. they only needed to address it.
the more you think of me, the more i’ll manifest
feel free to ask me for the director’s cut on my fics! a specific fic, scene, lines, or just anything at all!

alright i watched the whole third season of House of Anubis
I first have to say how much I enjoyed the leads: Eddie and KT. They have such a good chemistry and they’re honestly hilarious together. As I mentioned before, I did ship them together when I was younger and first watched the show but with watching it again, I would keep them as friends. Best friends. (especially since KT is hella gay I don’t care what anyone says) They totally give me Cloak and Dagger vibes, especially in terms of partnership. At the start of the show, they were alone, they had no one to confide in, no one to be with, Eddie was torn about letting Sibuna know about Nina, still not over Patricia. KT just lost her grandfather and came to England on a quest with some key and vague warnings, she was hella confused but still did so out of loyalty to her grandfather (this baby is too precious and good for this world, i swear). And next thing you know, fate and Osirian visions bring them together. They form a partnership, they snoop around the Gatehouse, they form a bond. And I love it so much. What I love especially, is that at the end, when the sinners are everywhere and even the Sibuna members are taken as sinners, it’s down to Eddie and KT, just like the beginning. Sure, they get help from Willow and Harriet, but they lose Willow pretty quickly, and right at the end, Harriet sacrifices herself so they can get the other key and lock away the evil for good. And together, Eddie and KT join the keys and lock the evil as one. They started together, and they ended it together, and I think that was really poetic. I know that the Osirian and the Chosen One are meant to be the pair and the Ying & Yang, but in this particular case, Eddie and KT were a bond formed by friendship and hardship rather than destinies planned or written in the stars by the gods, yes fate brought them together, but only because they knew they could only accomplish their tasks with each other. I especially loved when they took down Ammut, and Robert tried a last ditch attempt to get KT to feel guilty over doing this, telling her that he would die if Ammut was locked away. It brings in KT’s loyalty to her family, even when it’s bad, but then Eddie yells during the commotion, “Don’t trust him, trust me!” And I think it really brings a full circle what a great partnership and bond they have.
Other than that, it’s really just random stuff I liked
i liked that Willow could sense bad vibes that Robert had whenever he was around Anubis House, as well as sensing the bad vibes that sinner!Victor and sinner!Patricia gave off. I kinda wished they could’ve looked more into that. Like she was naturally sensitive to these things or something.
Her relationship with Alfie was a nice touch, seeing him with someone who liked the same things that he did was real cute. Especially seeing them happy.
Victor and Sweet playing that card game gave me life.
Joy’s new attitude and look were certainly appreciated
While I preferred the Jerome that developed in S2 and won Mara over (especially over the course of the first season and second, i mean talk about a slow burn done right) and rather he didn’t cheat on her and Willow, the Joy+Jerome ship wasn’t terrible. I much prefer the developed S2 Jerome, I’ve said this twice now, but again, it wasn’t terrible. (but real talk? KT and Joy should’ve happened)
Amber being the one to bring Sibuna and the pair Eddie & KT together because *Amber Millington voice* “Hello people! Isn’t it obvious? Work together.”
Like that girl knew what was up. Well, she did invent Sibuna, not surprised.
Alfie was perfection this season, leave him be. Also, highlights of him:
“Crypts are for dead people!” “I’m afraid of everything.” “Guys, go! Get out of here! Sibuna! SIBUNNAAA!!”
I already talked plenty of Eddie and KT being the best, so yeah. But imma do it again anyway.
I have a theory that Eddie focused his primary Osirian instinct of being protective over the Chosen One to being protective over KT. Like he reffocused his powers to someone else for the time being. Nina wasn’t there, and when KT showed up in his vision it was almost like the house was telling him “You need to help her now. Keep her safe.” And I really like that.
It was especially shone a lot through out the season, and the last episodes too.
When sinner!Patricia and sinner!Fabian had KT and wanted to exchange an artifact that Eddie had discovered, she told him to run and get away, like they did when Alfie told them to leave him behind. And he says, “That was Alfie, this is you.”
And when Eddie, KT, Willow and Harriet went to get the sun key from Caroline, and she managed to take KT and Willow and turn them into sinners, Eddie says, “Not KT,” very worriedly. Later on he’s hard on himself, “I can’t believe they got to KT.”
It was interesting that half the season was awakening the man in the tank and the other half was releasing evil into the world. Like a different feel for half the season, not many shows do that.
I kinda despise the fact that the things I didn’t like are probably going to be longer.
Let’s go paragraph first so, how about that plot? First off, the whole thing is very weird for Sibuna. The first two seasons were about riddles and thinking things through. They were real mysteries. In this, it was more direct, they had an obvious problem, they had to stop the bad guys from waking up a bad guy, and then literal evil converted their own friends against each other. It sounds super interesting for a Vampire Diaries or Teen Wolf or even My Babysitter’s A Vampire plot line (or just one episode) since those shows were more active based. This season barely had any hidden things or riddles, and half of it had Sibuna paranoid and working against each other which I’m sure no one really loved. Not to mention that the action mainly happened at the Gatehouse rather than the actual Anubis House, the center for two of the last mysteries. Now I know, I know, the new season couldn’t just be a copy, and having a third mystery with hidden compartments over the house would certainly be a lot for Robert and Louisa. But I mean, didn’t Het Huis Anubis have four seasons? They couldn’t just do their version of that? I’m guessing that they did something different (I really hope so, because if not, this is embarrassing)
things i did not like at all about this season
the fact that they twisted Mara’s character up in their new ‘messed up girl obsessed with a boy’ like Joy in S2. just- why?
the fact that they undid a bunch of Jerome’s development.
or how about the fact that all Jerome got to do this season was be part of a love triangle cheat fest and then a love drama with Joy. In S1 he shoved himself into Sibuna and Rufus and it was bad for him, but he was involved. And S2, he was just amazing, they managed to connect his family and his family troubles with something that Sibuna would’ve needed for the Mask of Anubis: the Frobisher Gem. It all came together perfectly.
we didn’t get anything of Mr. Sweet telling Eddie about his Osirian thing or their family history.
The way they treated KT when they thought she was evil. It was so messed up, honestly, that poor baby. (though I did appreciate that the other residents noticed, like at breakfast when she sat down and no one looked at her, and he said, “Good morning, KT.” and he just noticed something was wrong. And then Joy and Mara noticed. I just really feel like that was the moment where Jerome and Joy coulda been more involved with Sibuna again- wait what am I saying)
No, when they and Patricia and Alfie were at the Gatehouse and they tried to warn them about the ceremony is when JOY AND JEROME SHOULDA GOTTEN INVOLVED IN SIBUNA AGAIN. Or like, at least be more aware, I mean come on?? Joy, you’re better than this. And Jerome, you’ve seen enough weird stuff to know when it’s Sibuna-related and usually that means deadly-related so you’re whole having two girlfriends thing can wait for a while.
Caroline Denby sucked. (And Caroline Forbes from TVD is a fan favorite of mine and not to mention that MY NAME IS CAROLINE so imagine that).
the fact that we got rid of the real Victor was kinda just wrong for me. I mean, Victor has always been a pain in the ass with the kids, and he’s usually wanted what they were after as well but he’d never resort to murder or anything like that, so when he got turned into a sinner and lost his friggin soul (yes, they said that, this is true) we truly lost Victor and I didn’t like that at all.
Season 1 was all about a mystery but also partly conspiracy, there was a moment between all five of Sibuna where they got proof and realistic statements after Joy lied to them (at the insistence of her dad) they were starting to think that the mystery wasn’t real and almost backed out of the search. Remember? Nina said, “You guys aren’t giving up on me, right?” Anyway, that was that. It was all about finding more information about what really happened and what’s really going on. About finding answers.
Season 2 was darker, it was a race against time because unlike the mystery of the first season, this one was more about saving themselves. Nina’s life and her friends and Gran would’ve died, it’s a great motivator to go through the tunnels. And there were moments where we see just how serious this is, there’s one shot where Nina is in a dream sequence in the house and all her friends are running away from her, terrified. And even when Victor sees her, he backs away in fear and hides himself in his office and then in the mirror it’s revealed Nina’s dressed and appears as Senkhara. And then when Senkhara freezes Vera, Victor knows it’s time to back away, he’s scared, he’s worried, so we see him do what he has to do to get Vera back. And when he’s playing the game? With Sibuna as his game pieces on the huge board? When Alfie disappeared, he backed out, he knew when to stop and almost considered calling Mr. Sweet to do something about it.
Meanwhile, Season 3 was all dark evil stuff, run for your life or your literal soul will be taken. It’s the end of the world if they awaken this sleeping dude, we need heroes to stop the bad team. Oh no, he’s awake, now he’s going to unleash hell and evil and it’s the end of the world, only now everyone’s converted to the evil and it’s real bad, we need heroes desperately.
This season might’ve been more dark or good vs. evil type of thing but it just didn’t feel right for HOA. The show has always been subtle, it’s quiet and the kids solve the mystery and they do everything very hushed and private, this season sort of felt like WHOAH PIE IN YOUR FACE GUESS WHAT IM A SIBUNA what with turning the whole school into sinners, I just didn’t like the whole school being this active. but that’s me personally.
Robert Frobisher-Smythe being the one in the tank is ridiculous considering wE SAW HIS FRIGGIN GHOST AT THE END OF S1. And honestly, bringing him in and saying that he’s going to bring forth a darkness to make people evil and bring the apocalypse is just a really bland plot. It’s no mystery, it’s legit good guys vs. a villain. It’s a ‘save the world’ plot, yeah like we’ve never seen that before.
We love the mystery, where was it? oh right, nowhere.
When the four descendants of Robert’s expedition party were revealed: Patricia, Joy, Alfie and Jerome, there could have so much content.
The four of them speaking in unison while they sleep should’ve been used more.
Remember the childhood lullabies they were supposed to use to find a random artifact? Those lullabies were riddles and other than that cylinder that KT opened using her synesthesia, it was the only thing that made it feel like good old days of House of Anubis.
again, making Robert the man in the tank and then evil was just stupid. im not gonna approach the fact that he took the punishment meant for his expedition party and that’s why he’s cursed, and now he’s evil? oh gods
again, seeing the three OG Sibuna gang members evil and not on Sibuna kept killing me.
that ending bugged me
like oh no! everyone’s gone insane, we gotta shut this thing down before it devours more souls. TWO HOURS LATER and now it’s time to enjoy fireworks and Fabian and Mara and flirting and its so unnecessary, whyy??
Leave Mara with Jerome (in which he didnt cheat) and Willow is happy with Alfie and KT and Joy are out there being gay as hell. Those are the ships that shoulda happened.
Honestly, when I think back at S2 and Amber and Nina are there, it just brings back such good vibes. S2 really is the best season, but I stand by my love for Eddie and KT. Friendship goals AF. Like I said before, the third season was in your face, it was loud and it was telling everyone ‘end of the world’ and when you think about it, it’s perfect for the characters they introduced. S1 and S2 fit so well for Nina, because she’s like that, she’s quiet yet badass and is about riddles and mysteries. Meanwhile, Eddie is loud and wants to get this over with, LET’S BREAK INTO OUR TEACHER’S HOUSE BECAUSE I HAVE A HUNCH. YOU WANNA SEE THE SLEEPING MAN’S FACE, FABIAN? LET’S REMOVE THE GLASS. LET’S STEAL THE TANK WITH THE SLEEPING MAN IN BROAD DAYLIGHT.  LET ME JUST BARGE INTO VICTOR’S OFFICE TO TAKE YOUR KEY BACK, KT. LET’S DO WHATEVER IMPORTANT TASK OR MISSION WE NEED HAVE TONIGHT. LET ME BANG AGAINST PIPES AND BRICKS REALLY LOUDLY. And let me tell you, it just makes me laugh how into it he gets, like “why not?” it’s just so funny for some reason. Anyway, I think they decided to make this season fit what they wanted Eddie to be and that’s what they did. I loved Eddie’s performance, I loved him so much, I loved KT more. But I just didn’t love this season.

Do you think a revival of HOA would be darker? I feel like it would be and I'd move it to Netflix since the current Nick Gen wouldn't necessarily be familar with it. It would also be darker. And here is what I'm thinking I would do: Nina would return (be it Nathalia or recast), Fabian and the others would be angry with how they left things, Fabian's backstory regarding his absent father would play into the plot (he's the new villain). I'll continue this in another post due to word count.
Revival Ideas Part 2: Eddie would be dealing with the loss of his powers (they didn't give it a good resolution at the end of touchstone of ra), his relationship with Mr. Sweet be strained due to Sweet's actions during S3, Patricia would've broken up with him, Willow would be dealing with memory loss due to being turned into a sinner (aftereffects), Mara and Mick would reconnect, Amber would also be angry with Nina, and Fabian would be revealed as a protector of both Osirian and chosen one.
Revivals Idea Part 3: Vera returns working for Fabian's father, Jerome is blackmailed into working with, Joy would befriend Nina (we never got this and I think she would understand Nina's reasons for leaving better than anyone, though I'm on the fence with this one), the Tears of Gold would come into play since they never bothered with this in S3, and Fabian's father would be part of a secret evil organization in opposition to the one Victor was part of. Anyways I would appreciate your thoughts.
Hi Anon,
I agree that a revival of HOA would definitely be darker than the original show. I would love to see it on a different network or Netflix so that the writers could really dive into the darker aspects that Nick touched on. That said a revival is a touchy subject, simply based on the fact that the story is supposedly tied up at the end of TOR.
One way to circumvent the issue could be to treat Touchstone of Ra as a fever dream and pick up where Season 3 left off with spring semester senior year. If the writers went this route, Eddie could write to Nina and say that the danger is passed (ha! not really) and they can be near each other again. She decides to come back and has to deal with Mara/Fabian’s relationship as well as everyone’s anger over her letter based goodbye. In this vein I would love to see Mick and Amber return as well (especially if they reconnect and start dating again).
Fabian’s absentee father is a great choice for a villain since we get to start with a blank slate. The show tells us nothing officially about Fabian’s parents so it isn’t too far of a stretch to have Mr. Rutter appear with wicked plans. Mr. Rutter would be searching for the Tears of Gold in an attempt to achieve godhood. I feel like the show is past the point of simple immortality, and needs to connect more with the supernatural aspects. Vera could return to work as Mr. Sweet’s assistant and seek to seduce Victor again while secretly working for the Rutters.
I like your suggested side effect of being soulless. The show simply moved on to a party after they defeated the Big Bad without delving into their trauma. Memory loss and other traumas would be interesting to see in a possible revival.
I would love to see scenes of Victor’s reformed Society vs the Rutter’s organization vs Sibuna. The groups would be frantically trying to stop each other and all the while Mick and Mara would remain oblivious to the battle for humankind happening around them.
Speaking of which, there would be a total power struggle in Sibuna if Nina returned. I feel like she would also have issues with KT simply due to her feeling replaced. This could drive her to form a relationship with the one person who understands, Joy. A Nina/Joy friendship would have been super interesting and would have driven Fabian insane.
Personally I’d like to see Peddie stay together since we never got see them as a functional relationship. Nina and Eddie could practice their powers and find that they are stronger together (literally). Eddie would find a ring which functions like Nina’s locket, it used to belong to Rufus, which increases his powers.
There definitely needs to be more scenes with Eddie and Mr. Sweet sorting out their relationship. Mr. Sweet got away with abandoning Eddie way too easily in the show. I vote that Eddie gives him hell for his murder cult past.
Fabian as a super-powered character is interesting. I feel that a lot of what makes his character what it is, is his humanity. In being a normal human without special Egyptian god powers he must rely on his strength and wits to protect his friends and found family. If the writers/you choose to go that route I figure that his powers could be a source of tension with his family. - Evie

Things I wouldve done differently in HOA:
More friendship between eddie and Nina or at the very least foreshaddow with the Osirian
This one is oddly specific but hear me out: Fabian regularly expressing his dislike for Jerome, which would start to change after a jelfie apology we never got.
So here’s how it would go: Fabian openly expresses his dislike for Jerome until the ping pong starts. Then Alfie gets into trouble with sweetie following his chemical experience (regradless I think this should have led to discovering another component) sweetie tells Alfie he’s gotten too many demerits to play in a sporting tournament, and that he can’t play for the shield. Alfie is upset and goes on a rant how he “was supposed to help, how it was the least he could do etc..” to which Fabian replies that Jerome blackmailed Alfie last year and was horrible to him and everyone else and Alfie owes him nothing. Alfie then turns on him and yells at him for acting like he knows everything about them. He says that Jerome apologized to him on their own in his own special way and it was clear he felt very bad about it. And how Alfie understands having finicky fathers and wanted to help his best mate get some happiness (Jerome doesn’t seem to have much 🤷🏻‍♀️) Jerome would overhear this and instead you being upset that Alfie can’t play he’s flattered by his words and comforts Alfie, promoting him to coach and apologizing in screen actually saying the words: “I’m sorry for all the shit I’ve done to you. I’ve never actually said the words so that’s an apology all in itself. There’s no other words but sorry. There’s no excuse and I can’t make it up. An apologies all I have to give.” Alfie then in turn apologizes for shutting Jerome out and how he’s sorry he never knew about Jerome’s home situation sooner. Jerome would say something along the lines of “its all good, mate,” or “it’s okay, bro.” This interaction would begin Fabian’s arc of realizing Jerome isn’t so bad, which would come to a head during the Jasper situation. (Phew that was a novel)
Joy saving Patricia from the bolt instead of Fabian (she had made up with Fabian, not Patricia)
Patricia becoming editor after Joy and Mara fuck it up
“You can’t do a mediocre job if you’re the only one doing it.”
We got a surplus of Sarah/Nina parallels but what about Eddie/Rufus parallels.
More backstory on Rufus and victor. For example: They were both young (actually young) men when WWII began. Did they fight? If not, why?
Conversations between Rufus and Jerome in the barn to understand Rufus a bit more. It would have been eerie and I would’ve been here for it.
Fabian having an efing backstory. Maybe some daddy issues so he can relate to the other boys (wow just realizing all the boys have daddy problems to some extent) like maybe just a distant father figure who’s not really invested in his sons life. Idk but I want SOMETHING
In ancient Egypt there’s a lot of stigma around your name. so as long as your name still exists somewhere you can never truly die (or cease to exist in this case) I wish it was a plot point that senkhara’s crown had her cartouche on it so when Eddie destroyed it that’s why she was weakened and able to be pulled into duat with Rufus.
Jerome and poppy having a talk where they tak about their lives and their relationships and how much shit they’ve gone through and how much they care about eachother. It would of course end with some tears and a hug.
Getting some closure on the gem. (Who stole it...John? Who dared him to? Sweetie?)
On that topic I wanted to see sweeties reaction to John being released. They were clearly friends.
Eddie feeling weird about not having Nina around and not understanding “how can I protect you if I can’t be near you”
A distraught joy going to Patricia after being dumped by Jerome and speaking with Sinner!Fabian. She goes to her old best friend as a last resort and Sinner!Patricia knows this; she doesn’t spare one feeing from Joy. It would be more impactful from Patricia as former friends it would’ve crushed me and I would’ve loved it.
Patty: ew stop flirting with my boy,
KT: god’s sake, Patricia, I don’t even like boys!
Alfie being a theater nerd. (He just seems the type)
Seeing more of Patricia’s struggle of not feeling good enough in her family and music. (Like she plays in the orchestra and hates it but doesn’t dare quit) and this affecting how she communicates with Eddie leading to a conversation between them and Eddie encouraging her to do what makes her happy and forget about her family’s expectations.
Alfie getting mad that his safety is always ignored and he’s forced to be the lab rat a lot of the times. And expressing his frustration about it.
Nina going off the deep end and becoming super obsessed with the tasks and goin a little cray.
Might make a part two but for now enjoy my novel.

The Reawakening
Chapter 1: House of Arrivals
Summary:  When the Anubis kids return to school, they find themselves one member short. Sibuna is determined to discover why Nina has not returned and Eddie is just as motivated to keep them from the truth. But the truth always comes out eventually, and the Paragon/Osirian duo might just need their friends' help to survive. ______________________________________________ Basically, this is exploring the Chosen pair and what that means while introducing a new mystery at the house. I've had this idea since season 3 first aired and I was disappointed by the plot, so this is how I believe the series should have continued. Hope you enjoy!
Word Count: 1189
Read on AO3
“So, no one has been able to get in contact with her?”
Amber’s voice rang out as they walked into the drama lounge. Everyone shook their heads.
“Even you, Fabian?” The boy shrugged his shoulders.
“We talked over the holiday, but it’s been nothing for a few weeks now. She would’ve said something if she knew she wasn’t coming back, I know it.”
The others gave Fabian sympathetic looks. They were all worried about Nina, but he was the most distraught, especially after Amber’s comment about him not making the America trip. It wasn’t his fault plane tickets were ridiculously expensive, even if Nina’s gran offered their home for him to stay. Right?
A ping on his computer brought Fabian out of his thoughts.
“Guys! She’s messaged me back!”
They all crowded around him with inquires, though Fabian’s excitement soon deflated once he read the message.
“It just says she couldn’t come back.”
“Well, ask her why, dufus,” Patricia’s comment was shushed quickly while they waited for the typing symbol to appear.
“Really, Fabian? Double texting?” Fabian shook his head at Amber in response. Finally, the little dots showed up and Fabian, along with the rest of Sibuna, almost held his breath. He knew there was probably some logical explanation, but his mind couldn’t help but wander to Joy and her disappearance, all because she was the believed Chosen One.
“She says there’s a letter? I don’t know what she’s talking about,”
“Maybe I should try messaging her,” Amber wondered out loud. “I’m very good at interpreting Nina,”
“Oh, shut up, Amber,” Patricia quipped, which earned her a huff from Amber and a harmless push from Alfie.
“Maybe it hasn’t come yet. Or maybe aliens took the memory of the letter from you and--” The ramblings of Alifre were cut short by a less harmless shove from Jerome.
“‘Ask Eddie’?” Fabian read. What did that mean? Eddie was his roommate, surely if he had a letter to give, he would have done by now. He thought back and realized that Eddie had been acting strangely. He was quiet when he’d arrived, and hadn’t joined in the uproar when Mr. Sweet told them of Nina’s departure. Still, all of that had to be just coincidence.
“Where is Eddie, anyways?” Alfie piped up. “Why isn’t he Sibuna-ing? Y’know because of that stuff from last term? The Oraden or whatever,”
“The Osirian,” Jerome supplied.
“He said he was staying after to get the homework,”
“Homework? Eddie?” Patricia sputtered. “Definitely not. I say confront him,”
“He’s your boyfriend, isn’t he? Why don’t you do it?” said Jerome with he signature smirk. Patricia faltered.
“I’ll do it,” Fabian spoke up, still staring at the screen. “After classes,”
Conversation between FabianRR and NinaM22
FabianRR: Why aren’t you back at school?
NinaM22: I couldn’t go back.
FabianRR: Why not?
FabianRR: Hello??
NinaM22: My gran. Look, the letter explains everything.
FabianRR: What letter?
NinaM22: Ask Eddie.
NinaM22 has signed off.

Eddie sighed as he listened to Ms. Andrews prattled on about the French homework. He’d asked her about it, despite being fluent, in order to escape the Sibuna meeting he knew was about Nina. It was bad enough he would have to lie to them when asked questions about her whereabouts, but he’d also misplaced the letter Nina had written to help answer questions.
“Will that be all?” Ms. Andrews spoke.
Eddie shook his head out of his thoughts. “Yes, Ms., thank you,”
If avoiding Sibuna was this difficult already, he had no idea how he was going to make through the rest of term. Hopefully, everything would soon be sorted and he wouldn’t have to.
This summer, Eddie had gone to Cleveland to visit Nina, with the intention of figuring out this Osirian stuff. It was great, at first. He found that despite all their differences, Nina and Eddie got on really well. She told him stories of the house, of finding artifacts that made up the cup, about how Senkhara came to use Sibuna. He felt included. It didn’t last.
Things went wrong when they tried to discover what they could do as the Chosen pair. Victor Sr.’s ghost had told Nina of their duty to protect the world, but not how nor from what. With Nina’s naturally curious personality, she thought it would be good to test it. Eddie couldn’t blame her, of course. She was tired of being afraid of the abilities she knew she had.
The first time Eddie had ever felt a pull like the ones he’d been given at the house was when he was still at school in America with his mom. He’d been in school and suddenly he couldn’t breathe, couldn’t sit still. He needed to go somewhere, do something, but he didn’t know what. When he rushed out of the classroom, it had been the last straw in his generally unruly behavior and he was expelled. Through their swapping of stories, Eddie realized that this was the same day Nina had been trapped by Rufus and put the Cup together. It was his first Osirian instinct and, oddly enough, paved the way for his coming to Amun and meeting Nina.
If only their little summer test had such fate. They found they could connect on a deep level by concentrating on each other. It took some getting used to, after the first time Eddie could feel Nina’s emotions, just the same as she could his. It was weird, knowing someone that deeply when you had just met mere months ago. But it was also exhilarating. His purpose was clear and for the first time he felt like his duty of protecting her wasn’t impossible.
“Eddie!” someone’s voice rang out, interrupting his thoughts.
He glanced up to see Patricia rushing towards him, brow furrowed.
“I called you like three times, what’s up with you,”
“Sorry,” Eddie said, putting on a fake smirk. “Just in my head,”
“In your head? And what was with the staying behind for homework? It’s only the second day,” He shrugged his shoulders as his girlfriend prattled on. Normally, he loved listening to her ridiculous rants, but lately, after everything that happened, he couldn’t focus on much else beyond Nina. The sick feeling he’d felt in the classroom, the days when she was missing, and when she put the Mask of Anubis on -- it was constant now. He needed to fix this.
“Eddie! Are you even listening to me?”
“Sorry, yacker, I, uh, am not feeling well, I’ll see you later,”
He sped up and went on into class, sitting next to someone from a different house. The rest of the day he kept his head down, avoiding his friends. Logically, he knew it was probably a bad idea; he needed to act normal. Emotionally, however, he didn’t have the energy to care. He figured he could get through a quiet dinner at the house, and then message Nina. The sooner they figure this out and she could come back to school, the better.
His plans were interrupted as soon as he got to the house, with Fabian glaring at him in the entryway.

A/N:  Ayy that's the first chapter!! The next one will be up on Sunday 2/16! I've had this idea literally since literally 2014 and am super excited to finally write it. I've always been dissatisfied with the way season three went and the excuse of the Chosen One and the Osirian not being able to be near each other got my younger self thinking. I really hope you enjoy this and get lost in the mystery that's to come!! Let me know what you think!!

Finally got round to starting Season 3 of House of Anubis, I’ve only watched the first two episodes so far.
Thoughts:
- They really did Nina’s exit dirty and Nina. Like I hate how they had her essentially blank everyone all Summer, like you think that they’d have her stop contact mid or late Summer. Also I hate the reasoning behind it since it contradicts the purpose of The Osirian and The Chosen One - especially when you consider there was no problem at the end of S2 with Eddie and Nina being near each other, or all the times Rufus and Sarah were. At this rate, I wish they pulled a Joy on Nina - it might seem repetitive but have her go missing or some hidden reason for not returning which ties in near the end.
- Not sure what I feel about the newbies. KT is not a bad character but I feel like she’s gonna annoy me and it’s nothing against her, but I tend to find it hard to warm up to characters that you come in and are immediately thrushes as the lead or higher up in the hierarchy than characters that has been their since Day 1 or longer. And I read that she is nothing like Nina, but she was brought in to fit the Nina shaped hole, especially when you consider the mystery surrounding her and the whole key thing which looks set to kick off the big mystery.
- I love Eddie, but I’m still not sure how I feel about the new focus on his as the lead this season, it’s early days but again it’s the same reason as KT - other characters have been there longer and deserve to work their way up.
- Not sure what to make of Willow, I’ve seen the actress in other stuff like Wolfblood and Marine 6, so I know I like her, but her introduction was weird and felt forced because we never see or hear about her then suddenly she’s always hanging around at Anubis House, she’s in their classes and everyone already knows her or speaks like they know her well. So I think her introduction could have been written better. I gather that she was brought in to replace the eventual Amber shaped hole, and you can see why, she appears to be serving the same sort of purpose Amber initially did, which was sorta comedic relief, however you can sorta tell she’s different from Amber, Amber is a leader, a trendsetter, whereas Willow - and I say this nicely - is a sheep, she idiolises Amber, seems desperate to fit in - especially with Anubis House. Amber is a dominant person, Willow isn’t. Also Willow is a different kind of comedic character from the first episode, she seems more kooky, perhaps free spirited kind of comedic relief. Again, early days, I may be wrong.
- Amber without Nina just feels wrong, and I was surprised how I strongly I felt about this watching Amber wake up on her birthday to an empty bed and na Nina.
- I’m kind of worried that Fabian is being push back in the hierarchy of characters since Eddie and KT have seemed to replace him and Nina as the leads. It’s a little sad because I have such a love for the Original Sibuna, the original trio and Patrica and Alfie.
- I did like that Fabian seems to have a spine. Like I love Fabian in S1 and S2, he was that sweet shy geek, but his handling of the Joy/Nina situation got tiresome, his indecisiveness as well as not wanting to hurt anyone, while sweet, he unintentionally made things worse, so I liked that he grew a backbone a bit in the premiere and was fighting for Nina and the truth. (My Fabina heart wishes we saw that side earlier, back when Nathalia was still on the show).
- Season 3 hasn’t immediately grabbed me like the other two seasons have. I really feel Nina’s absence. So far I like Joy, she has chilled out from last season, what is a little sad is that we don’t know if this is because Nina’s gone, like I maintain that we were robbed from Joy/Nina in S3 because I would have liked to see what kind of relationship they’d have after S2. Jara seems nice so far, I like how settle they seemed and Jerome still being Jerome lol. Anything is better than S1 Mara (I just couldn’t with S1 Mara).

Do you think Eddie would have found out about all the supernatural adventures if he hadn't been Osirian and Patricia had been there instead? And how would the third season go in that case?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but you’re asking about the Osirian!Patricia AU, right? If not, I’m so sorry for the rest of this answer 😂
So if everything was the exactly same through S1/S2 (i.e. the adults thought Joy was the Chosen One but it was actually Nina, the Cup got built, Sibuna gets cursed by Senkhara, etc.), except for the fact that Patricia was actually the Osirian, it stands to reason that the kids probably wouldn’t know that right away. And the same way Victor doesn’t actually have confirmation Nina is the Paragon until the S2 finale, the adults might suspect there’s something a little wacky about Patricia, but they probs would not know for sure what that wackiness actually was.
I think maybe in this AU because Patricia would still be interacting with Rufus as much as she did in S1 that he might tell her or give her reason to suspect there’s something up with her, but if let’s say he didn’t and she just spent the entirety of S1 having strangely intense nightmares and hallucinations that she and everyone else chalk up to being really upset over Joy’s disappearance. This just means that all of S2 is pretty much the same as canon apart from the occasional “funny feeling.” (If I were going to write this AU out as a story, tho, she’d probably know she was the Osirian by the end of S1, but for the sake of argument, let’s just assume this discovery comes at the same place as the canon timeline)
So here’s Eddie, right? He’s just a normal kid whose dad was a poopy head and left him and his mom to be in a cult. Casual business, all that. He and Patricia are still gonna hit it off, naturally, because nothing has really changed in their dynamic apart from a slight role reversal that isn’t even really relevant to them yet at the point where they meet, have their banter, fall for each other, etc.. The only difference might be that Patricia is a little more ✨inexplicably one-track-minded✨ about the mystery… so that could put some strain on their relationship. But other than that business as usual for Peddie.
Here’s where it gets tricky. In the finale, I don’t see any reason as to why Fabian, Alfie, and Patricia wouldn’t still go to the barn to rescue Jerome, and therefore Eddie would follow them bc he wanted to see what Patricia was hiding from him. He’d probably still get knocked in the head by Rufus, and Jerome would still give him the gem in a panic before getting dragged away, and Patricia and Alfie would still discover a concussed Eddie and bring him home, where she’d finally have to explain to Eddie who Rufus is/whats going on.
The divergence of the plot would come the moment Patricia gets her hands on that gem. She starts hearing voices, realizes Nina is about to do some dumb shit, starts rambling to Eddie that the Chosen One needs her, and she runs out the door. I don’t see why Eddie wouldn’t follow her, except for maybe if he’s really concussed. But I feel like he’d pull through because he’d obviously be really worried for his girlfriend, especially after what just happened.
So the final showdown happens, except it’s Patricia banishing Senkhara with the crown. So obviously if Eddie was there, he’d have a pretty good idea of the sort of supernatural shenanigans that went down.
In Season 3, however, all bets are off. Patricia would not be a shithead like Eddie, and she would obviously tell Fabian that Nina wasn’t coming back to Anubis House like a normal person, so that random Fabian vs Eddie brawl craziness doesn’t happen. Peddie probably still breaks up over the summer, but maybe not idk… let’s just say they did. Okay so Patricia has the vision of KT and the key, so when she turns up, Eddie is not being a total freak toward her, rather Patricia is, but it’s not as weird because Sibuna as a whole is being freaks about it.
KT gets sussed out as an ally rather than a threat pretty quickly, and Sibuna adopts her pretty quickly. Meanwhile, Eddie is aware that Sibuna exists, but isn’t taken into the club because his ex is now leading it 💀. So I’m thinking maybe he’s aware they’re up to something and does some of his own digging when his dad gets weird about the family tree project. Eventually, though, I think he’d approach Patricia and the others and offer his help. Cue romantic violins as the same harebrained scheme of KT to push her two friends back together ensues. Also in this AU she and Patricia are def besties bc there’s no wack misunderstandings and they’re still the only girls in Sibuna.
Now it’s also messy bc Patricia would be both Descended and the Osirian, but… she’s just OP I guess idk. Anyway, the ceremony works (womp womp) and S3b begins. I think Eddie would be in Sibuna atp, but maybe more in an unofficial way? Idk. But I think he’d probably get taken as a Sinner bc the only reason he escaped the crypt is because his vision of Patricia getting manhandled radicalized him. So he’s probs caught in a similar way to how he would have been if he’d not made it out of the crypt, and now he’s got all he needs to target the Osirian.
But don’t worry, she’s got plot armor!! Idk, anon it’s not super fleshed out 😂
Anyway, to give you the short answer to your question: yes I think Eddie would find out about the mystery in this AU, he just wouldn’t be as much of a key player in the story

Was Kira ever in danger of being cursed by Senkhara? What about Mara?
Did Robert have an easy time turning Mara a sinner than Fabian?
Not necessarily! I think there was always an implied threat from Senkhara that she could curse anyone she liked, but Kira and Mara (and for that matter Eddie) weren’t really on her radar for very. They weren’t involved with Sibuna, and she deemed them irrelevant in the search for the mask. It wasn’t until Senkhara thought Eddie might be the Osirian that she tried to curse him. If Mara or Kira joined Sibuna in season 2, they’d have probably been marked!
As for the second question, I honestly don’t know. Mara had no frame of reference for what was going on, so she had no reason to suspect she was in danger until it was too late. Denby and Robert’s method was playing to her ego while simultaneously putting down Jerome and Kira (and Joy probs), all of whom she was feuding with at the time. They fed into her pride that way, basically saying “you’re so right, and they’re so wrong.”
As for Fabian, he knew there was something larger going on, but he had enough faith in Robert’s genius that it seemed plausible that he could have figured out a way to throw off the evil influence.
The bad guys had an easier time luring Mara, I imagine. They didn’t have to be as cautious or in character as they had to be with Fabian.

A few different things it could be (though do note I don't agree with every item I list here):
The Tears of Gold cliffhanger at the end of season 2 is never brought up again. Like, the closest we get in season 3 is right before Victor becomes a sinner when he tries to plan with Robert on how to become immortal and re-create the elixir. Other than that one-off, it doesn't really connect, and it is never brought up again.
Nina not returning in season 3. I know that couldn't be helped and was not the fault of Nickelodeon; Nathalia just wanted to leave to focus on her schooling. I detest how they wrote her out of the show, but again, not the fault of Nickelodeon.
The switch from proper Nickelodeon to TeenNick. I'm not 100% sure it was done solely for mature themes. But for a lot of people, Nickelodeon and TeenNick were not in the same cable package. If they wanted to watch the show live, some people would have to upgrade their cable package. Plus, it also changed the way the show was formatted. Instead of one hour every week, it was 4 half-hour time slots. That may seem like a good thing on paper, but it also meant that the finale became finale week. I truly believe that had it stayed on Nickelodeon, the last four episodes would have been combined into a 2-hour finale episode. There's no way to know for sure, but I'd like to think this was the case, especially when the previous finales were action-packed with at least one plot twist (Season 1: Sibuna didn't bring the Ankh pieces to the school, Rufus gave Patricia the note, the tipping of the scales isn't symbolic and requires a sacrifice, and Joy isn't the chosen one; Nina is. Season 2: Rufus wants to become a god with the Mask, Senkhara wants the same thing, the mask at the end of the tunnels isn't real, and the reveal that Eddie is the Osirian.). But for a lot of people, the finale could simply be boiled down to a race to put the key in the keyhole. However, all of the finale week better fits the twists and turns of a finale episode.
House of Anubis deviated too far from Het Huis Anubis. I don't know how many of those complaining about Nickelodeon treating HOA poorly are people who originally saw HHA. But even us hardcore fans tend to think that HHA>HOA. Combined with the fact that the show was commissioned out of Nickelodeon US (even though it was produced in the UK), and it becomes clear that even the "British" elements have become Americanized. Alfie jokes about Santa in Season 3, not Father Christmas. The Touchstone of Ra features a high school graduation, which is something that doesn't happen in the UK equivalent to high school education. Also, in TOR, Trudy says "The middle school has bedbugs", but I'm pretty sure "middle school" is another American school term. (Does anyone in the UK want to confirm for me or correct me on that?) But even in season 1, which is the closest to HHA, the deviations from the source material can leave some things to be desired. In HHA, Nienke moves into Anubis House while her Gran moves into an old folks home. It's there, while Nienke is visiting her Gran, that she first bumps into Sarah. But in HOA, with Nina being from America, the writers needed to find another way for Nina to first run into Sarah. So, they come up with the brilliant idea of... having Sarah willingly leave the old folks home and walk up to Anubis House, but refuse to go inside because "He's always waiting". Or the fact that they combined Rufus and Zeno into one character (presumably for time, as the first season of HHA had nearly twice as many episodes, and Nickelodeon only commissioned 60 episodes for the first season), and changed up many storylines because of it. Rufus was looking for Joy in the original, while Zeno was looking for the cup. So, the writers moved the chosen one storyline to season 1, and have the plot twist that Nina was the chosen one, not Joy. In HHA, the plot twist is actually that Nienke (Nina) was NOT the chosen one; it was Noa. I've heard many people who grew up on HHA were fond of the plot twist being the character that would be obvious to make the chosen one is actually not the chosen one. This was undone in HOA. I think the writers tried to remedy this by making everyone think Fabian was going to be the Osirian, but then it turned out to be Eddie. Except, once you dive into the character further, it's a bit more obvious than the Noa reveal. Nina is American. So is Eddie. Nina's female. Eddie is male. Nina is sweet and kind. Eddie has a bad-boy persona. Nina can be reluctant to take action, preferring to think things through before doing them. Eddie is quick to take action with no regard for the consequences of doing so. Seeing as the Chosen One/Osirian dynamic is supposed to be like yin and yang, Nina and Eddie are polar opposite Americans. So, all this to say, while the writers are to "blame" for a lot of these changes, some of it could also be due to American executives meddling in the show's storyline.
Nickelodeon canceled the show, despite there being at least some demand in the fanbase for a season 4 in 2013/2014. I'd still wish they'd do a reunion movie for Paramount+ (and I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing for that), but that's unlikely to happen. Nowadays, most people who think of live-action Nickelodeon nostalgia think of the Dan Schnieder creations, and with Quiet on Set airing recently, people are "out to cancel" Nickelodeon. Now, I know the accusations in the documentary (which I have yet to see) are serious, but because many slept on the show when it first aired, I could see this becoming a causality in terms of people not looking fond on this era of Nickelodeon. Another reason why it could have been slept on is because of it's serialized nature. Generally speaking, once you know what Drake & Josh, iCarly, or Victorious are about, you can just watch any episode from that show in any order without getting lost. You can't do that with HOA. For those that don't know and/or remember, when HOA first aired season 1 in 2011, the first 9 episodes were billed as a "premiere movie" in two parts. The first part is the pilot, comprising of the first full episode and editing the next four to fit in a regular 1-hour time slot with commercials. The second part was the next 4 episodes in an hour time slot. (Remember, the first two seasons of HOA comprise of two 11-minute episodes in a half-hour time slot with commercials.) On streaming, the first part is episode 1, and the second part is billed as episodes 2 and 3 (at least here in the States). And because of how the movie ended, my younger self was under the impression that this was like iCarly and more episodic in nature. It wasn't until the cliffhanger at the end of the very next episode that I realized it was serialized. Its serialized nature also made reruns harder. You had to run a whole season regularly as a batch for it to work, but iCarly could have a season 2 episode followed by a season 5 episode and then two season 1 episodes in one two-hour marathon, and it wouldn't be confusing.
All of this to say, Nickelodeon could have handled some parts better. It didn't handle the show perfectly, but Nickelodeon didn't fully fumble it either. That's just my very rambly thoughts on the matter.
Tumblr media
I am once again asking for everyone to actually get real here and realize that for a show whose formula was entirely different than anything else on the network at the time (barring the literal other versions of the same show), HOA had it pretty damn good. Most shows just got flat out canceled with no resolution.

the kids successfully perform the ceremony instead of the adults and frobisher wakes up ‘good’
ok first things first, the entirety of 3b just. wouldn't have taken place if this happened haha
backstory: the kid's plans to get the adults out of the way still fail, until there's a legitimate fire alarm at Anubis (eddie may or may not have deliberately burnt a batch of cookies) and they evacuate every building on that side of campus, including the gatehouse. Patricia and alfie grab jerome and joy and force them to circle back as soon as they can without anyone noticing, and they perform the ceremony (harriet appears somehow too idk). jerome and joy are confused but trust their friends more than the teachers so they go along with it. the teachers come back, re-perform the ceremony (incorrectly, but it doesn't matter), and discover RFS awake the next day.
obviously, the adults are overjoyed with robert waking up. Victor (and Sweet, to an extent) immediately demand he help them with the elixir, although Robert doesn't know the formula either.
Victor also gives him a rundown on what happened to sarah/Anubis/the chosen one-osirian drama/etc since he was put to sleep (obviously making himself look g r e a t in the process, lest RFS think any less of him for, y'know, treating his daughter, the chosen one, the society, the descendants, etc like crap.)
sweet then takes some of his $ to set up some kind of education scholarship, maybe help send some of the kids at the school to uni if they couldn't afford it otherwise.
denby is found out immediately because RFS knows she's not the true Keeper. the other two use their connections to that police officer and nurse delia to have caroline arrested and harriet released from the hospital/given the care she deserves to recover from whatever caroline had done to her
after taking like a week to acclimate himself to the 21st century, Robert just…leaves. there’s not really a reason for him to hang around now that his home is an entire school that he has no part in running
He goes to say hi to KT first, though
he takes the opportunity to explain exactly why Charles was sent away and give KT whatever inheritance she's entitled to
but then she realizes that it's all stolen/produced through colonial means and she insists he go back to egypt, return the stuff, and "make things right"
he's a bit reluctant at first but then Patricia bursts into the room out of nowhere like "you made my life a living hell, you know that" and he's so taken aback by this girl who a) looks exactly like his old coworker; and b) is scolding him as if he isn't her elder (kids these days, am I right) that he ignores her in favor of KT just because that seems to be an easier conversation to have
so anyway, he leaves. he's gone. he's absolutely no help in this au
Sweet gives all 4 descendants straight A's because he finally comes to his senses and realizes they deserve it after being re-traumatized for like no good reason, actually
no mystery or anything pops up until the end of term (tor) for the kids. so, meanwhile,
the sibuna members sit joy and jerome down and explains what was going on during the eclipse ceremony. they're horrified, particularly joy—after what that man indirectly did to her, she can't fathom why anyone would want to wake him up.
it's not until fabian explains that it was either them or the teachers, and it had to be the former if they wanted any chance of him not being Evil, that she calms down
she still thinks it was a stupid idea though. "what were you going to do if it failed??? dumbasses"
the revenge plot: starts off the same. however, everyone is now actively involved in the sisterhood, enabling Patricia and KT to immediately put a stop to the fake-dating idea because they realize how ridiculous it is (joy and willow are too close to think rationally about it, which is partially why it went on for as long as it did in the original show). mara has a lot of support and encouragement and moves on in a healthy way.
patricia and eddie: ok so it starts off at a sisterhood meeting soon after the revenge plot is resolved…patricia's basically the only one with tea so they're all teasing her and she reluctantly admits that she misses eddie and has feelings for him yadda yadda.
KT offers to figure out if he feels the same and goes about it in basically the same nonsensical way it happens in the show. she then gives patricia the idea for the fake date but forgets to tell mara about it, so the whole "No!…okay, this is a conversation I can't win" thing at the breakfast table still happens
the fake date is also pretty much the same but afterward, instead of going straight to eddie, patricia chickens out a bit (because she didn't really see his reaction and therefore doesn't know for sure if he likes her still) and the girls are like "r u stupid"
patricia refuses to listen even when joy drags fabian in ("oh, be quiet mara, it's only for a minute") to confirm that eddie is, in fact, still pining. irdc how cliché this but fabian and joy are so fed up of this nonsense that they "accidentally" lock them in a closet or abandoned classroom or something, and that's when they finally make up – *cue bottle episode*
patricia doesn't get paired off with ben during the trust exercise thing because they have a competent business studies teacher who doesn't make up lessons to manipulate her students, but she and ben do end up as partners for a drama lesson and eddie gets heated watching them practice Shakespeare with each other
she goes to Isis dodgeball practices, but not to cut oranges—she knows how important the tourney is to eddie so she goes to take notes on their strategies or whatever, with plans to share it with Anubis. Eddie's behavior ends up pissing her off though so she doesn't
that weird date still happens where he takes a call from his mom and refuses to tell her that it's his mom.
the bits where she clocks him with his arm around KT still exist too
they have a pretty intense argument after the tournament's over and she tells him they need to take a break if he can't trust her and she can't trust him
KT basically knocks him upside the head, he goes and apologizes but also asks exactly what she meant by the fact that she couldn't trust him and then tells her she has nothing to be jealous about etc
after establishing that communication is important and they both have issues but they can work those out together, they're good for all eternity because i say so
eddie and sweet never quite recover their relationship. something about the casual way he was just shipped off to the hospital alone makes eddie mistrustful, and sweet never really forgets how eddie almost ruined the ceremony for them
but honestly? it's okay. he has a family still.
jerome and joy: so obviously the fake dating doesn't happen and honestly joy just avoids him because of the whole cheating thing.
but then mara inherits Letdown, joy offers to wash him, and jerome just happens to walk into the kitchen when that's happening and decides to help. they bond
the play isn't about jara at all but mara still ends up writing it (with fabian, this time) and joy and jerome end up co-directing because their drama teacher is the Epitome of All Evil (aka she drew names out of a hat)
the first kiss happens after eddie and KT, the leads at the time, refuse to rehearse that scene, so they have to do it instead.
“see guys? it means nothing, it's just acting." *cue eddie and kt’s eye rolls*
jerome walks into joys room afterward and asks her out because "we both know that wasn't just acting." she says no.
--sidebar about the play--no one disappears and they all pass drama…eventually. they do have to completely rewrite the script two days before opening though because they wrote in another fabian-as-victor-for-laughs thing and victor found out and was not amused. so they hurriedly hold auditions in the living room and willow demonstrates the life cycle of a tree for hers (because that's too iconic not to exist).
also alfie has way too much time on his hands now that sibuna has nothing to do so he makes a life-size RFS paper mache sculpture, brings it into the house, uses it in his audition for no reason. he has no idea there's an identical one six-feet under the Anubis foundation, though
anywho
joy and jerome spend a lot of time together during the play production and he falls for her. hard.
she does the same but it's super complicated because she's also around fabian a lot, plus the whole mara thing
until mara confesses that fabian's actually really smart and funny and she's never had more fun working on a school assignment in her life
and joy is not only not jealous at all, she's actually relieved to hear that
meanwhile jerome's at his wit's end because he really really likes joy but she keeps having deep and/or flirting conversations with him and then #disappearing. so he goes to trudy for help
he writes her a letter (very similar to the one he did in the show, except without the "you might not truly like me" parts) and gives it to her like two hours after she has that conversation with mara
and they're also happy together forever because I say so
mara/fabian: so mara starts to have feelings for the guy during the writing process but doesn't want to say anything because she's convinced he's still hung up on nina
especially because nina re-establishes contact with all of them right after the eclipse ceremony and The Original Trio has group facetime calls, like, all the time
except one day, nina calls mara instead
"hey, so I got asked to winter formal by someone, and not as friends, and I said yes. I know you and fabian are close…could you help me break the news?"
mara says no only because she thinks this is a private conversation and she's not going to meddle
but when fabian comments "yay! have fun you two!" on the pic nina posts of the asking, mara knows her path is clear
so she asks him if he'd like to grab lunch with her in town the next day.
"like as a date?"
"yeah."
":)"
willow and alfie: mostly the same as in the show except he doesn't miss a date for sibuna matters.
they go on double-dates with peddie for a while until one day they come back covered in paint and slime and trudy makes a rule that they can't go out unsupervised anymore
now that KT isn't worried about her great-grandpa, she has time to get a girlfriend
amber's constantly texting or facetiming someone in the house, so much so that there are times they've forgotten she doesn't actually live on the continent anymore
all the kiddos study/write college apps together every Thursday evening and go into town together every Friday (for grocery shopping/restocking their sweet and alcohol stash). Saturday evenings they make dinner (trudy insisting they have to learn some life skills before uni) and then sneak into the cellar for a midnight feast.
Victor turns a blind eye to that last bit
also they're all terrible liars so mara and willow eventually learn about Sibuna during said midnight feasts
a few weeks before graduation, RFS sends a letter to KT (because he doesn't quite understand email) and lets her know that he saw Sophia milling about when he was at the school and immediately recognized her as Evil. said letter also has the locations of the touchstones, so TOR lasts like 10 minutes in this AU
the osirian still gets sacrificed
overall, though, they're all just happy and content and get a break because god-knows they deserve it.

ok but what if
the sibuna merger is never a thing because eddie’s initiated into sibuna at the end of season 2 at nina’s insistence
so while the letter drama kind of still happens, the animosity doesn’t linger
and while he and kt do immediately bond, it’s not quite to the degree they do originally, and patricia isn’t quite as jealous of the two of them
meanwhile as the mystery ramps up, eddie begins to realize just how much burden patricia was carrying the previous year without him
he wonders how she managed to do this for two years without losing it.
“I was far from perfect. you should know that better than anyone.”
the two of them and kt end up getting paired off a lot; with patricia’s lookout and sneaking-around experience, eddie’s osirian powers, and kt’s uncanny ability to sense when they’re close to uncovering something, they’re easily the most efficient trio in sibuna (when they’re not annoying each other into oblivion).
it helps, actually. although he’s pissed by the way things ended, and she’s burying every ounce of feelings she has for him, being around each other so much forces both of them to put everything aside and get their jobs done
eventually, the easy conversation comes back. then, the light teasing and banter.
patricia had worried, the entire flight back to the uk at the end of summer, that she may have ruined their friendship forever. but by halloween, that’s but a distant memory.
(kt’s going insane watching the two of them act like a couple in all ways but one. “can’t we just lock them in a closet and force them to make up?” she laments to joy and mara one day. “trust me, I tried so many times last term, it did nothing,” joy says. “if anything, it made them worse,” mara agrees.)
life continues as normal (relatively)…until the eclipse ceremony and it’s aftermath
eddie’s not sure what to think about the betrayal he feels from his father. to everyone else, mr. sweet has always done things like this, so while they’re sympathetic, eddie doesn’t feel like he can grieve around them.
so he’s well and truly surprised when patricia takes him deep into the forest one day under the guise of finding leaves for an art project. “okay,” she says, crossing her arms. “i can cover for you for five minutes. scream, cry, curse, whatever you want about your dad, but you’ve got to do something, because moping around is clearly not working out.” she then turns and leaves. he does as he’s told.
“eddie’s, like. your number one fan,” patricia tells kt after they find out about frobisher being alive. but this time, there’s no hidden meaning to it, and (to kt’s ears) no hint of any underlying emotion. the conversation moves on.
patricia never goes on that date with jerome, never asks eddie to meet her in the living room. he’s drawn to the crypt by a text from her saying she and fabian discovered something in there they need him to see.
patricia’s the only one whose not convinced that eddie disappearing is normal behavior. by midday, she’s panicked enough that she goes searching for him by herself, arriving at the crypt just in time to see him jumping off the roof
she starts to run to him, but he sprints forward, grabs her arm, and drags her deeper into the woods. “victor’s on the prowl,” he manages to choke out before collapsing on the grass out of hunger and dehydration.
luckily patricia’s got some baby carrots and a chocolate bar in her bag. he eventually gets enough energy to explain the vision he saw.
“aww, were you so worried about me you jumped through the roof?” she teases, but stops when she sees the shell-shocked look in his eyes. “we should tell the others,” she says instead.
mara becomes the first sinner, her jealousy and anger used by denby to manipulate her. she’s the one who smashes the phonograph (having no conscience means she has no problem snooping around, so she finds kt’s diary and uses that to spy on sibuna and figure out their plan). kt’s never a suspect herself, but sibuna starts to turn on each other anyway.
eddie watches patricia with ben during the dodgeball tourney and wonders if this is some kind of cosmic joke.
she’s free to hang out with whoever, obviously, but really? him?
(patricia, on the other hand, takes careful mental notes of ben’s practices and implements them at anubis’s own; she finds herself on youtube late at night, watching dodgeball strategy videos. she hadn’t done that for any of the previous year’s tournaments.)
(it’s because this is their final year and she might as well put in some effort…not because she desperately wants to meet her captain’s unreasonably high expectations because they’re clearly some kind of defense mechanism against a childhood rival. not at all.)
fabian and mr. sweet are captured not long after. patricia insists on staying behind with alfie when he’s caught in the chimney; eddie and kt escape.
the two of them are immediately separated. they try patricia first, but knowing the details from eddie’s vision and the information in the book makes patricia’s normal level of stubbornness increase hundred-fold. she refuses to sin at all.
team evil gives up and patricia finds herself locked in a dark closet. alfie’s taken a few hours later. ammut reawakens and patricia becomes the first victim of her book.
the rest of the school falls, the endless storm rages.
(the gatehouse speech still happens, but only partially because kt barrels her way through the door while he’s still giving it.)
afer it’s all over, patricia’s off on her own during dinner while eddie and kt fill the others in on what happened that afternoon. she tries to ignore his arm slung over the back of the other girl’s chair.
kt does most of the talking while eddie sneaks glances to the other side of the table, watching patricia shovel pasta into her mouth at a rate faster than alfie. her face seems to have hardened over the past few weeks—gone are the mischevious glint in her eye and smirk on her lips—and now, she’s almost unrecognizable from the outspoken girl he met a year ago.
still, she’s safe. his chest swells with pride when he thinks about how she must have fought against team evil. only patricia.
he gets popcorn and sidles up to her during the fireworks. “you should be proud, you know.”
“of what,” she laughs hollowly. all the good she did was through following someone else’s orders, and even in that she failed.
eddie gestures around vaguely. “none of us would even be here if you didn’t lay the groundwork last year, and the year before. you think we’d have been able to outsmart the teachers without that?”
patricia rolls her eyes, staying quiet until her gaze lands on kt. she nods in her direction. “go talk to her. you know you want to,” she tells eddie, raising an eyebrow and plastering a smile on her face.
“no, actually, I don’t,” he says. patricia frowns. he hesitates, then reaches down and squeezes her hand. “i’d rather stay right here.”
she nervously laces her fingers through his. it’s been months since she last did this, but they still feel like puzzle pieces put together. a perfect fit.
and suddenly he’s gently lifting her chin to look at him and she’s leaning in closer and closer and
they kiss right as the sky lights up blue and purple and orange.
“for the record,” he says, “im not sharing any of this popcorn with you.”
“yeah, right,” she laughs, and pulls him down toward her again.
