where is the current obsession city?? i hope it's less cold but not too hot
Technically more cold in the winter but it's a dry cold as they say so it's not as bad haha...but Denver
Realistically though, I'm not moving back to the US any time soon and it still seems like a very car-dependent city which I don't like. But it obviously has great nature access and beautiful scenery.
Renting almost anywhere is better than here so that's not much of a factor for specific cities but a reason I want to get out lol
#there ARE things I miss about the US tbh#and I do miss the sort of cultural openness that Americans have#Irish people are...friendly but still fairly closed off#and I know I'm one to talk#but god they're so pessimistic#I could use a tiny bit of American optimism

If Solas doesn't have a satisfying ending I'm not even going to post about it. Like ever. I will simply cease to post all dragon age content and we will pivot to like, elder scrolls or Enderal or smthn
(to be clear;this is my worst timeline option)
#i will be furious#but that will be the final straw for me#i want to enjoy it so bad but the. pessimist in me is like#girl. u know they're gonna kill him no matter what the inquisitor and rooks choice to redeem him wont matter#and they'll do some bullshit self sacrifice ending for him.#i hope to god I'm wrong.#my Biggest concern is that they said ''we think we have a satisfying ending to all the varying attitudes towards solas''#which reads to me like: there's 1 ending for him. and they have grossly underestimated their fan base. once again.#bc i do expect like 1; antagonize solas and be hateful nonstop to result in boss battle where rook/inky kills him#or 2; befriend solas and redeem and he ends up self sacrificing or dying in lavellans arms so he's not 'dying alone'#and then im going to have to finally block all the writers on twt and bluesky#please god let me be wrong#i aint here to argue abt this btw. just dreading this potential outcome

when considering Ashton's reasoning about Imogen continuing to give in to Predathos, that her being lost is inevitable and that it would be better if it happened now as opposed to later, it feels very important to remember what they said to Laudna when they first landed in Issylra, when she was terrified Imogen had become a moon-worshiping zombie in their separation: If she got blasted into space, we'll go to space. If she got vaporized, it's not like we didn't fucking find you. There is nothing else until this is dealt with. This is what we do, is we bring everybody back. Not only is nobody getting left behind very much Ashton's thing, but he specifically does not see Imogen being lost to Predathos as her being lost for good. (and tbh I agree, given how heavily the story since the start of the campaign has been leaning on her to confront this.) And even if it did, they'd still go through hell trying to get her back.
But it also makes me think of what Imogen told Ashton, after the shard; maybe this was destiny, like they thought it was. Maybe what they needed was to shatter into pieces and come back together. That same idea, of controlled burning, needing to confront something to overcome it, fuck yeah, jump into that lava and find yourself, to hurt is to heal - Ashton, we watched you break into a thousand tiny pieces. If she got vaporized, it's not like we didn't fucking bring you back.
#critical role#imogen temult#ashton greymoore#cr spoilers#this is not to say they're CORRECT about any of this btw. but i saw Takes acting like Ashton said what he said#with the belief that this would be the end of Imogen as we know her and that its inevitable she be unhappy. and like.#classic 'Ashton is deeply pessimistic and sucks bad but also you're missing something pretty fundamental abt the character' moments.#and i had already been thinking of the post shardgate moment in this context so.#crposting#cr#also i will just run back in and add that you can't just attribute the same perspective on this to ashton and orym even if they agreed#orym would be crushed if they lost imogen. but if it meant they defeated the vanguard and predathos it would be a worthwhile sacrifice#meanwhile ashton would tell the gods to go fuck themselves to their faces if the choice was between saving them and saving imogen#or any of the hells#you're so special#cr meta

I acknowledge this is my season 4 ptsd speaking, but I reached the point right now where I'm just cackling over how bad of a position "Transmission" left us in Ladynoir-wise without the second part of Kwami’s Choice.
There are so many layers to this and all of them are awful xD One mere episode is not gonna be able to properly follow up on this, they will just have to sweep most of it under the rug again as per usual. Most likely with the given excuse of both Marinette and Adrien not holding them breaking the words - the words their Ladynoir bond survived on through S4 - in the worst way possible against the other one because THEY THEMSELVES DID IT TOO.
I'm just cackling over this. They're gonna do it again, I know it. This show loves creating situations of maximum conflict and just... loopholing through that stuff because there were no ill-intentions.
I get the sentiment but DUDE
#ml spoilers#miraculous ladybug#miraculous#ml transmission#Is this pessimistic?#My s4 pdsd tells me that for a god AWFUL Ladynoir situation like this I shouldn't expect anything else but a cop-out resolution#Via convenient loophole of them BOTH having abandoned each other in the worst way possible#So neither of them wants to be a hypocritical asshole so we just... leave it at that#It would fit very well actually#I already made a passing post of how Kagami in perfection was literally the embodiment of the s4 Ladynoir conflict just done respefully lol#They're SO gonna solve this through subtext again omfg x3

stupid stupid stupid stupid I am so fucking stupid
(LONG rant in the tags. originally a little longer still but apparently there were too many tags so tumblr deleted the rest lol)
#ahahahaha so i applied for a (fixed-period) job that was like. right up my alley?#and i was one of the two applicants and they invited me to a Teams interview which was supposed to be last monday#but when i heard the other applicant is someone who's been working for them for the past semester i was like 🤡#hmmmm i do wonder which one of us they'll hire!! 🙂#and i was crushed because why can't things go my way for once#being a job-seeker in this area on my field is so stressful and depressing if you don't have the right connections#so i cancelled the interview with an email on the morning of the interview#because i just couldn't motivate myself to go even for practice. i just couldn't#i did consider calling the place and asking if the sitauation was like i suspected#but i didn't because i am not a fully functional adult ✌🤷♀️#well. today i noticed that they have opened the position again 🤡#which means that for one reason or another they're not going to hire the person who's been doing that exact job for them before?#and now i'm crying because lmao what kind of impression i'll be giving of myself#if i call them now and tell them why i cancelled the interview?#''yeah so i stood you up because i'm a hardened pessimist and thought i had no chance pls hire me lol''#who's gonna want to hire a loser like this 🙃 a loser who couldn't even bother calling them like a normal adult would've#and also what if my employment agency finds out i didn't go to the interview? they could cancel my allowance ahahahahahAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAA#god i hate being unemployed and i hate job seeking so much it hurts#my self-confidence is nowhere near it should be if you were actually to do well in job interviews etc.#''why do you think you'd be good for this job?'' I'M NOT! YOU'LL BE DEFINITELY BETTER OFF HIRING ANYONE ELSE!!#and some people's advice for job interviews be like ''just be yourself!'' like honey no#if i'm myself at a job interview absolutely no one's gonna want me ahaha#job-seeking is just so fucking crushing and humiliating#like. when you're studying and you have an exam? you can study for it as hard as you can and try to do your best#and you'll get the grade you deserve. if someone gets the highest grade it doesn't effect YOUR chance to get the highest grade as well#but when applying for a job? you can write a splendid application text and answer the interview questions as best as you can#but if there's another applicant that's significantly more qualified or experienced than you they WILL be hired over you#so you can try your best and IT'S STILL NOT ENOUGH#and that's why i didn't go to the job interview. because i wanted to protect myself from that heartbreak again#doing the best i can and still not getting the job

can we have a conversation about how much ktm is in shambles? cause i’m hearing they’re having so many problems financially and apparently even technically. it seems like they got stuck from the start of the season and they are just not progressing. i get that the last few circuits weren’t stop and go circuits that ktm prefers but the performances were really worrying. now, no offense to binder but he clearly has no backbone, but pedro already scolded them this weekend because they are not working the way they should, is there a chance they finally decide to take a risk and develop a project around him? because i feel like that’s what they need to do, a bit like yamaha or honda did for vale and marc. also i’ve thought about the fact that a lot of ktm engineers are leaving ktm for honda, if honda is actually working on a good project for 2027, is there a chance that perhaps a rider like pedro could get them out of the hole they got stuck into? cause i think that would be very interesting to see. of course only if he decides to leave ktm which i hope he doesn’t cause i’d like to see him become the first motogp wdc winner with a ktm. also i can’t really see where else he could go if one day he decides he’s unsatisfied with ktm
love asks that clearly come from the heart. I've been holding off on being too mean about ktm because in a way I do want to save it for after the NEXT race. we're in austria now!! ktm's home race! which they've actually been remarkably successful at, given they're the only non-ducati manufacturer to ever win in the modern iteration of this race in the premier class - first in that quirky last corner shoot-out courtesy of oliveira in 2020 and then in that bizarre slicks in the wet performance by binder in 2021. which, okay, unusual races and all that, but it's a track they should be doing well at!! binder got two second places here last year. if they flop here, then the alarm bells will really be ringing
I guess we can get into an argument about what 'flopping' would even look like. it's entirely plausible that, hm, the first 4-5 slots at minimum are locked out by ducati again - honestly, at the minute another ducati podium lock out feels like the expected scenario. I have heard there's a decent possibility of rain on sunday, but by this point of the year I've been promised rain quite a few times so I'll believe it when I see it. if it rains, sure, anything's possible. a positive result for ktm right now would probably be... a podium, right, which in itself is pretty damning - how are ktm still this bad at actually winning races? last year, binder got a podium at silverstone, which isn't a massively ktm-friendly track. this year, they didn't get even remotely close to that. the ktm defence argument goes 'well, look at what everyone else is doing'. silverstone is a very aprilia-friendly track and they had a pretty disastrous weekend themselves this year. the less said about the japanese manufacturers, the better. but... well, ktm was kinda supposed to take it to ducati this year. they finished last year on a very promising note, with what really should have been a 1-2 at valencia. (the fact that they didn't convert on that maybe should've gotten some alarm bells ringing about the ultimate potential of that rider line-up, but let's not get into that.) after binder's performance at qatar, ktm surely should have been determined to be in the title hunt. they are extremely not in the title hunt
the thing is, anon, ktm does know that pedro is their title winner. the idea of 'developing a project' around him is tricky - because to the extent that ktm is capable of that, they will do it!! they're not going to develop the bike in a direction that suits binder over him, for instance, or completely disregard his feedback or any of that. manufacturers can struggle with being reactive enough to rider concerns... my sense is that ktm likes to throw a lot of stuff at problems, it likes to flex its muscles and use a lot of data and come up with big update packages and all of that - and for all the progress they've made in their bike development, clearly all is not yet well on the in-season development front. (cf the whole chattering thing that ducati has gotten a handle on and ktm hasn't.) manufacturers do sometimes have a tendency to believe they know best and not listen enough to their riders, especially when there's a disconnect between the riders and 'the factory' that's actually designing the bikes. yamaha is an interesting example of that at the minute, where a lot of their current problems are so long-running that you can find their roots in stuff jorge and valentino were complaining about YEARS and years back. they've become a lot more reactive in recent years and did do a lot to tackle fabio's complaints about the bike's top speed... but by that point, they were in such a hole that just 'fixing the top speed' really wasn't enough to actually make a competitive bike. still, part of the reason why fabio's decided to stick with that project is he feels like yamaha is finally listening to him - and if they'd lost him, they'd really be fucked, so that has to count as at least a little bit of a W
in terms of the valentino and marc comparisons, they are just about different enough that it'll only take you so far. with valentino, the simple truth is that nobody today could do what he did for the yamaha project in 2004. he couldn't do that nowadays; it just isn't possible for a rider and his team to make that sort of instant impact anymore. motogp is so different now, with all the aero and devices and all the other stuff casey hates. the balance of power, if you will, has shifted pretty decisively from riders to engineers. also, valentino by that point was a fair bit more experienced and a lot of the credit has to go to his even more experienced team for what they were able to do with yamaha's carte blanche. a rookie, however gifted, just won't be able to provide quite the same level of direction. with marc... well, the honda was fantastic when he showed up! best bike on the grid! it's not exactly an analogous situation to pedro in that what honda needed to do was 'keep being good'. they did listen to marc's feedback and it did bag them enough titles to make it worth their while, but it also did not send their bike down a particularly happy development route for anyone else riding that thing - which ultimately as a manufacturer is not a situation you should want. honda was already losing the development arms race to ducati in the late 2010s, but giving marc a fast if capricious bike and relying on his natural talent to ride around the issues managed to disguise the problems for a while... or at least make them hurt less. all in all, I'm not really convinced 2010s honda is a model anyone should be particularly interested in copying
what ktm should do is listen to pedro, obviously. I assume they're already treating him as their championship contender elect, but if they're not then, yes, they'd be idiots. and given how long it took for them to actually confirm his place in motogp last year, I am open to the possibility that ktm are being idiots here. whether there's a workable system in place to actually make use of that feedback and continue to progress is more open for debate, and that's kinda what pedro went to the factory to check in on. pedro today was talking up a "big, big step" in the coming few races, in part due to the impact of their two test riders and the more ktm-friendly circuits to come, so it'll be interesting to see if it lives up to that. beyond that, who knows? ktm does have money and resources and a track record of success outside of motogp to give it faith, but of course this year has been a disappointment. (quick note: I have seen the stuff about ktm being in trouble financially and obviously that would massively change all of this, but at this stage it's quite hard to judge how seriously to take that - so the rest of this ask will assume that ktm will continue having a lot of money at its disposal. if they don't, my analysis is that they're probably fucked.) the first bit of the season made everyone doubt whether the bike was actually better than thought and the riders were simply not taking advantage of it - which a few signs last year like 'surely dani shouldn't be this competitive' and the whole valencia thing already pointed to. now, it's definitely less competitive than last year and even their superstar rookie can't do all that much with it, so that's not great. they do have a little time to play with here, but not that much. pedro's signed for 2025-26, but if ktm doesn't start next season more competitive, it won't take long for him to start looking around. and even though you can't do valentino 2004 things in quite the same way anymore, this is clearly going to be a project that needs an alien-level talent to actually get it over the line. they've kinda managed to fail upwards into a very strong set of riders next year and they should be able to extract a lot of them for bike development purposes, but also their rider management has traditionally been godawful so it remains to be seen how that'll work out
that being said, pedro will be fine! I mean, idk if he'll be ktm's first premier class world champion. if I had to put money on it, I'd say it's pretty likely, yeah? but the 'where would he go' thing isn't really a big concern. all the big names have kinda hunkered down (as have the teams who signed them) with two year contracts that take us very neatly to the next rule cycle kicking in, which everyone expects will majorly shake things up. while this whole japanese manufacturer situation is massively annoying, I would be shocked if at least one of them aren't regular race winners again in 2027, and hopefully will already be so before that. most manufacturers except maybe honda have at least one star rider they're intending to be a title contender in 2027, and ducati has two. they probably won't all stay in the same place (even if they all remain reasonably healthy in that time) and there's bound to be at least one manufacturer hunting for a big name. pecco will be in his late prime and possibly grey-haired, god knows what state marc will be in *taps wood*, we have no idea how the whole jorge aprilia situation will work out. maybe yamaha will be so competitive again that they actually decide they want TWO riders fighting it out for a championship and we get a proper throwback in blue to the good old garage cold war days - which is where my imagination sadly fails me because I can't picture fabio putting up a wall or yamaha not sucking. maybe, like you say, pedro is just what honda needs to... well, honestly I don't think he could get them out of this hole - but perhaps in a couple years time when honda is looking healthier again, he's the kind of rider that could make it a title winner again. it'll be a new world! if pedro is as good as we all think he is, then obviously any manufacturer would be thrilled to get their hands on him, not least to deprive the competition of having him. how old will he be in 2026? about nine years old, I think? if I had to guess, I do kinda see him being a title contender around 2026-ish, because I just can't quite picture ktm making the necessary leap by next year so 2026 feels like a good way of hedging my bets and trusting his sickening levels of natural talent to make up the bike difference. one of my big remaining doubts is... well, it's actually been quite a while since a new manufacturer has won a rider's title. the last time was ducati way back in 2007 when they nailed the new regulations cycle and also kinda lucked into signing the casey stoner, but ducati had already been regular race winners for quite a few years before that. capirossi was third in the championship in 2006. I suppose aprilia got vaguely close in 2022, but that was a chaos season we don't have much reason to expect to see a repeat of any time soon, and in the end they also didn't get that close. ktm really needs to be getting into race winning form soon if they want to be thinking about titles. it's ridiculous that it's been over three years since their last win in the dry, and nearly two since their last win full stop. if I were them, I would maybe consider winning some races, instead of continuing to lose them idk. let's see how they do on sunday, eh
#this has been languishing unanswered for a good week but crucially i can get in my hot take before friday practise#also the binder dig lol. honestly i've never really got what his deal is supposed to be but i don't think a backbone would really hELP him#binder becoming ktm's golden boy of all golden boys was always kinda a weird situation#i haven't understood a lot of what ktm's been up to these last few years really. never been a believer in this set up#my ktm takes have gone from being very contrarian to incredibly mainstream this year which has been a satisfying journey#//#brr brr#batsplat responds#i think i've mentioned this before but i do have to state in the interest of fairness that i'm broadly rooting for ktm to fail here#i just have such deep contempt for their whole deal and *especially* their incompetent rider management#that it'd just be deeply funny to me personally if they fucked THAT line up. like you convinced them all to trust you and now what#and i'm not really invested enough in any non-pedro bit of next year's line up to feel all too bad if things go south. he'll be fine!!#i've basically existed in a very casey-ish state of schadenfreude about the ktm project since the start of the year#both when pedro was doing well and now they're all flopping. because at each stage it was kinda proof ktm had been fucking about#but i'm aware that all good things come to an end and am broadly expecting ktm to get their act together and win a lot to piss me off#by contrast i have a lot of respect for the aprilia operation but am deeply pessimistic about that thing's future. so goes life#it's the money thing unfortunately. that's what it all comes back to. ktm will fail upwards because they'll never run out of the shit#or ktm goes bankrupt and then we're all free!!#whereas my poor scrappy underdogs over at aprilia are relying on hopes and a prayer on that front#the fact they're so much better than honda and yamaha is... god let's not even talk about them don't get me started#current tag

what’s your opinion on nihilism
Baby's first atheistic philosophy. Built for edgy teens who had their first introspective thought a week ago. The problem is, people use the term nihilism to justify being lazy with their own beliefs - that's why u get a lotta dummies claiming they're nihilist, despite doing zero research on what it actually means to practice that philosophy (which is a lot more neutral on things than pessimistic)
Just because you gave up believing in a religion doesn't mean that you should simply stop growing either. The "I don't believe in God"-part of your worldview is the least interesting part, and it's not the finish line, that's the fucking start. Now you gotta figure out WHY things matter -- despite God, despite 'floating on a rock in the middle of nothingness' -- that's when you've put in enough effort to reflect on yourself, and not a moment before.
I think there are far more constructive philosophies out there that explore how life really operates besides nihilism. Just because we're 'floating on a speck' doesn't means shit, it's not like you nor I in our day-to-day lives can even recognize that we're floating on a speck, so it naturally doesn't matter to our daily lives, our cultures, our ethics, or anything, really.

small favors
mingyu x oc reader
fluff, friends to lovers
note: this is purely self-indulgent because i have a big fat ass crush on mingyu. havent got the time to proofread and fancify everything but pls enjoy!!!
—
"This is my third glass already. If that girl in the red dress doesn't stick around, I'm tapping out," you sigh, your face resting on your hand while the other holds onto your margarita. Mingyu had come up with the plan for you both to team up and help Wonwoo find a date at Seungcheol’s sister’s wedding party, and you had readily agreed.
You've known Wonwoo since childhood, introduced by his mom at the playground, and you've been the best of friends since then. Mingyu joined your circle in high school, and the three of you have been inseparable ever since.
"Hang in there. I think the girl in red might be the one. They’ve been chatting for a good ten minutes now," Mingyu remarks, checking his watch.
"Yeah? Let's see," you reply skeptically.
"Such a pessimist. Remember, she's your candidate," Mingyu teases.
"I don't know, I just don't see Wonwoo fully engaged in the conversation. She had that charm when I talked to her," you admit, though it's hard to tell from three tables away whether Wonwoo's truly interested or just politely listening.
As you both observe, Soonyoung joins in with his drink. "What are you both up to now?" he asks, following your gaze to Wonwoo and the girl in the red dress, looking at you and Mingyu with a confused expression.
Turning to Soonyoung, you ask, "Soonyoung, what do you think? Will the girl in the red dress be able to break through Wonwoo's defenses?"
He takes a sip and frowns at the aftertaste. "How come you never set me up? We're friends too, you know, both of you."
"Just answer the question," you roll your eyes.
Soonyoung takes another look at Wonwoo and the girl in the red dress. "I think she might," he finally answers, earning a nod of agreement from you.
"Hey, look! They're laughing!" Mingyu giggles at the sight of Wonwoo saying something that earns a laugh from the girl.
"Oh my god," you gush with Mingyu. "She just handed him her phone."
You playfully slap Mingyu’s arm. "Dude, they're exchanging numbers!"
Both matchmakers celebrate with high fives until the girl in the red dress exits their view and waves goodbye to Wonwoo.
"Wait, where's she going? Is she heading home already?" you wonder aloud, checking the time on your phone. When you look back up, the girl in the red dress passes by your table and greets you with a nod, saying, "Nice to meet you again, Y/N. Gotta go."
Wonwoo follows after her, approaching your table. As he sets his drink down, you immediately ask, “So?”
Wonwoo takes a sip of his drink. “She was alright,” he says nonchalantly, earning a disappointed expression from you, which he finds amusing.
"What do you mean she was alright?" Mingyu prompts.
"Well…" Wonwoo tilts his head, trying to recall the details. "She’s a photographer. So that’s a good start."
Impatient with his lack of detail, you sigh. Typical Wonwoo, a man of few words. "Okay. And?"
Wonwoo takes another sip. “She suggested I visit her photo exhibit sometime. So she gave me her Instagram page and I gave her mine too.”
Realizing your mission was a success, you grasp Mingyu's shoulder. Mingyu raises his glass, proposing a toast among the four of you.
"I'm so happy right now, I need another glass," you giggle, taking a sip of your margarita.
“Okay. Wonwoo’s got a date. How about me?” Soonyoung pouts, making you laugh. You then ask Mingyu to switch seats so you can play matchmaker with Soonyoung this time.
As you're in the middle of interviewing Soonyoung and scanning the crowd with him to find someone he’d want to talk to, Dami, Seungcheol’s sister in lawapproaches and grabs your arm, pulling you to her.
“Y/N! I have someone you should meet!”
With wide eyes, you look at your tablemates and mouth "Help," but they only laugh at you.
“Bye!” Wonwoo teases, waving to you.
Meanwhile, the three guys left at the table continue drinking and talking over the jazz music playing in the background. Mingyu notices you at a table with Seungcheol as Dami walks through the crowd with her arm looped around some guy in a tux.
He figures maybe this is the guy Dami wanted to introduce you to. Guess they aren’t the only ones playing matchmaker that night.
Wonwoo notices his best friend looking intently from afar. He turns his head back to see you shaking hands with a handsome stranger. Mingyu’s eyes start to wander, trying to distract himself from the hint of jealousy he was feeling
“When is the DJ set going to start? I am so bored,” Soonyoung pouts as he scrolls through his phone, then gets nudged by Wonwoo, directing his attention to you observing something from a distance.
Soonyoung couldn’t help but tease. “Oh wow, Dami’s got good taste. I’d like to see how Y/N would play the game tonight.”
“What?” Mingyu snaps out of it and pretends not to hear.
“Good luck stealing her back, man. Just letting you know I’m always Team Mingyu.” Soonyoung pats Mingyu's back, gripping his drink and takes off.
Wonwoo then slides closer to Mingyu. “You know you’ve always had the advantage, right?”
Mingyu looks at him, confused. “Advantage? What are you talking about?” Mingyu knows what his best friend was talking about. Wonwoo is direct, but this conversation feels different. They've never discussed about him and Y/N before.
“Oh, come on, Mingyu. I've noticed the way you look at her lately. If you like her, just tell her and let it happen the way its fated to happen,” Wonwoo says, taking a sip of his drink, as though confessing to Y/N were as simple as ordering another round.
If telling Y/N what he felt was that easy for him and her, he could’ve done it sooner. But no. He wanted to be sure. He wanted to be sure that this wasn’t just some sort of crush.
“Okay, let's calm down,” he chuckles nervously. “I’m just taking my time, hyung. And I also want to give her all the time and space she needs if…” he pauses. “… if she ever feels the same way.” He adds hastily, gulping down the rest of his drink. “This stuff is good. I need more.”
Conveniently, Seungcheol appears out of nowhere with two glasses in hand, setting them down their table. “I thought you might need another round,” he says, chuckling softly.
Mingyu thanks him, but before he can even grab his drink, you swoop in and snatch it from his hand, leaving the three of them surprised.
“Thanks,” you say, taking a sip and letting out a relieved sigh. You hadn't expected to meet one of your biggest radio DJ crushes, Joshua, at a wedding party. As the brief conversation with him ends, you hurriedly excuse yourself from Seungmi, feeling your face grow warmer by the second.
As you return to your table, Cheol gives Mingyu a teasing glance while sipping on his drink. “Y/N's pretty cute when she's flustered.”
“Oh shut up.” You playfully roll your eyes and then offered to get Mingyu a new glass which you did.
As you stepped away, Wonwoo chuckles at Cheol’s comment, earning an eye roll from Mingyu. “This is so annoying.”
“Why are you annoyed? Oh, I see. You know I heard that Joshua invited her to visit him at the radio booth sometime.” Cheol prods.
“She'll probably be too busy to go,” Mingyu counters.
“How would you know? Are you her manager?”
“What if I am?” Mingyu retorts, trying to play it cool.
They stop abruptly when you came back with a new drink in hand and gave it to Mingyu. “Gentlemen. I am back. Here’s your drink, sir.”
“So how’d it go meeting one of your celebrity crushes?” Wonwoo asks. He wanted to see how his bestfriend will react.
“Oh. Pfft. Yeah I think I played it real cool. Did I?” You turn to Seungcheol for affirmation but he laughs at you instead.
“You were good. Charming at least.” He winks at you and you mouthed a ‘thank you’ You then proceeded to rambling about Joshua’s radio show Sunday Mornings aired every Sunday morning.
“So annoying.” Mingyu mutters as he side eyes Seungcheol.
Wonwoo tries to hold in a laugh, covering his mouth with his drink. Mingyu takes another big sip from his drink thinking this was going to be a long night for him.
—
The tension Mingyu was feeling inside eases off as the night progressed. He has the alcohol to thank for that as well as when the dj finally starts his set for the after-after party.
You, however, was on a high and was extra loud for the night. Never in your life would you think you’d have the energy to goof around and match Soonyoung’s on the dancefloor considering that you weren’t that good of a dancer.
With your confidence at its peak you even pulled the bride to dance with you twirled her over to her now husband. The warmth and joy you felt was incomparable as you watched the newly weds dance and then seal everything with a kiss as the song ended.
Another song plays as you wanted to rest because your feet was starting to hurt already so you head to the bar for another drink as if you weren’t tipsy enough. You scan the room for somewhere to sit on but all you found was the flight of stairs from where the bride and groom had their grand entrance earlier that night.
Wonwoo was sitting down a step checking his phone. He then notices you approaching. He scoots a little and sweeps the space beside him with his hand for you to sit on.
“Tired?” He says with a welcoming smile.
“Yeah. A little.” You sigh as you carefully take a seat.
“Did you at least have fun tonight?” He asks like a dad asking his daughter if she had fun.
“Yes, dad. There were lots of boys hitting on me though.” You joke and scrunch your nose waiting for his reaction.
Wonwoo chuckles and plays along. “Ah my pretty daughter. The boys must’ve had a hard time getting your attention.”
“They’re just boys. I’m here for the party.”
“Really? No one caught your eye?” He points to the small crowd of people enjoying the music, dancing, having drinks.
You casually pretend to scan the crowd until you notice Mingyu was fast approaching still looking to be at full energy.
“I dunno. This guy seems pretty decent.” You shrugged. “Pretty. Decent. Kind.” You said that in a very smug way but heaven knows you meant it.
You’ve developed a skill of being friends with Kim Mingyu. And that was suppressing even the slightest infatuation that eventually grew over the years. Who wouldn’t have a crush on Kim Mingyu anyway?
You’ve had plenty of experience with girls befriending you just to get close to him, some would bribe you with coffee to have you give them his number. You get the coffee, ask Mingyu for permission if he’s comfortable with his number being given and then hand him the coffee you got for free.
With your sibling-like dynamic, he was so comfortable with sharing even his dating life sometimes it wasn’t as fun anymore because you realize how good of a person he was it’s almost unreal that some girls think of him as too naive when he’s really just that kind of person who always believes there is something good in everything.
You were glad to be his friend. You continue to learn a lot from him. There’s an internal struggle however, when that dreaded question “what if you wanted something more than being friends” comes to mind. It scares you. Scared that he might get to close to see through the cracks.
“What are you two doing?! Sitting down?! Really?!” Mingyu reaches for your hand while his other hand reaches for Wonwoo’s and then pulls the both of you up like his ragdolls.
This was always the dynamic between you three. Mingyu being the energetic golden retriever, Wonwoo being the calm black cat, you being the confused chihuahua to balance them out.
—
Later that night, you find yourself assisting a drunk Kwon Soonyoung to his hotel room.
As you search your purse for Soon’s key card he has entrusted you earlier that night, Wonwoo was trying to restrain Soon who was trying to kiss him while he laughs and giggles. Same with Mingyu. But he just talks to Soon in his state.
The door beeped and clicked open so you successfully assisted Soonyoung to his room. You help remove his blazer and then finally made him lay in bed.
Thankfully, your rooms were on the same floor so you all went your separate ways for the night.
Once you settled in and changed to a shirt and sweatpants. You were in the midst of removing stubborn makeup when you decided to open a bottle of beer to cap off the night
As you were quietly browsing photos you took in your hotel room you notices Mingyu’s coat that you lazily hung to a chair.
You text him.
“You still awake??? forgot to give your coat back sorry”
“i’ll go get it in a minute” he replied
You continue browsing the photos you took for tonight and you stop at photos Soonyoung took of Mingyu and you making funny faces. Your lips curl to a smile as you remember this was taken after you sent Wonwoo off with a girl to talk too.
You heard knocking so you toss your phone to your bed and set the beer bottle down. You get Mingyu’s coat and open the door.
“Hey.” You were greeted with Mingyu hair still a bit wet from the shower, obvious from the droplets of his hoodie.
“I was going to give it later in the morning but you were eager to get it.” You hand him your coat.
“You can just tell me you’re gonna hug it to your sleep if you want to you know.” He reaches for it and your hands slightly brush together.
Your face contorts. “Ew. Why the hell would I do that? Creepy.”
“So you can dream of me. Duh.” He is still at it.
“I’ll pass. Good night, Gyu.” You were not having enough of it you rolled your eyes and was about to close the door but his hand stops it.
There was silence between you two for a few seconds. He then takes a step closer, height towering over you. At this moment you felt as if you were put under his spell. Unable to move, you focus on his forehead since your legs might just give up if you look straight into his eyes.
His eyes traveling from your eyes nose and lips.
He softly touches your fingers, moving up your arms barely touching it with his fingertips then tracing your jaw.
You feel your breath slowing down. Your eyes trying to read his. Was this really happening? Should you let it happen?
“Can I kiss you?” He says quietly.
You nod slightly, closed your eyes then it happens. You felt the warmth spread to your face.
Mingyu smiles as he pulled away. Both your eyes meeting each other. You sigh a little. Your foreheads against each other.
“You taste like beer.” He giggles softly and you let out a shy laugh.
You weren’t sure what got to you as you reached for his neck to kiss him again.
After you break it off there was a pause and then you both go back to laughing faces against each other. You have no idea if it was just the high of finally doing what both your hearts wanted to do for a long while. And finally meeting halfway with what the score is between the two of you.
You were both interrupted with the sound of the door being opened. You both straighten up as if nothing happened.
“I-uh…” Mingyu clears his throat. “Goodnight, Y/N.
You touch your nape and avoided eye contact. “Yeah uh. Good night, Gyu.”
—
It was another long day for you and Mingyu at work. While you were busy writing and revising scripts and trying to help your editor with the video editing, Mingyu was busy shooting new content for the project you were working together for. He was the director this time and you were one of the writers.
No one has said a word ever since that kiss. You were at your best at pretending that it did not bother you at all and kept busy at work.
He asked you to eat lunch with him at your favorite sandwich place.
The whole time you sat there were complaining about how you were frustrated at one of your scripts keep getting scrapped by one of the hosts you were shooting.
“Can I talk to you about something” He asked softly.
You peel off the wrapper of your subway BLT “Yeah go on.“ And then you took a big bite.
“About that kiss.” His eyes not leaving yours. Observing how you’d react.
You somehow mastered controling your reactions being with Mingyu for years.
“What about it?” You said nonchalantly. “I was pretty drunk that night.” No you weren’t. You were having a beer and completely aware.
“You…were?” He tilts his head like a confused puppy. “Okay. But I remember you kissing me back.” He was taken aback by your reply. You were clearly not as kissing anyone she sees drunk level as Soonyoung.
“Yeah, cause I was drunk. We do and say stupid things when we’re drunk. I’m sorry if it made you uncomfortable. You meet his eyes this time to make your lie more convincing to him but moreso yourself.
Mingyu was left confused. You were not drunk that night.
He raised an eyebrow because you were obviously lying. You were more stern, retained more eye contact when you lie. It’s the same strategy you do when you’re pushed to do revisions to scripts that you did not want to do because it’ll only change the story.
“Look I just want to you to know that I don’t regret doing that.”
“Mmhmm.” You were busy chewing your sandwich and back to avoiding eye contact.
“And that I have liked you long enough for me to have the courage to do that.”
He can see your eyes widen and proactively try to avoid his. Your gut goes crazy until your eyes meet his. You stay there and your gut eases.
You were about to say something but couldn’t find the words so you just closed your mouth and looked into his eyes now and sighed.
“But please don’t say anything. You don’t have to answer.”
“And just tell me if you’re not comfortable with this. I mean we do work together almost all the time.” He then takes a big bite of the sandwich he barely touched after all that.
“It’s fine. I mean… It was a drunken mistake on me. I just-” You sighed again and wanted to say something but your emotions were all over the place. “Thank you. For telling me this.”
“Are we cool?”
You smiled. “Course we are.”
—
“So… Wonwoo told me something earlier before he left.” You peeked through your laptop and glanced at Mingyu who was cooking.
“What’d he say?”
“Nothing. He just told me that he… saw us kiss that night at the wedding.” You shrug trying to keep your tone as casual as you can.
“Okay. And?”
“He said that whatever that was, it’s safe with him. It’s none of his business.” You stood up from your seat and walked to their fridge.
“I just told him that it was nothing. I was drunk.” You said as you searched for a can of soda and then reached for it.
Mingyu’s eyebrows were raised at the sound of you saying you were drunk excuse again. He turns to face you with arms crossed across his chest. “It was nothing huh? And you were drunk.”
“Yeah. I was. Haven’t we talked about this?” You opened the soda but almost fizzed out but you drink it up with your mouth before it spills.
Mingyu scoffs. “You can’t keep convincing yourself that you were too drunk to kiss me back that night,” Mingyu finally snaps, his frustration boiling over. He’s tired of you dismissing your kiss as a drunken mistake. It wasn’t just about the kiss he was frustrated about.
You were a mess. You were going on this push and pull game of yours. You would be sweet one day and then the next one push him away. It wasn’t as if Mingyu didn’t see this coming knowing you.
Your eyes widen in disbelief. “What did you just say?”
“You were sober,” Mingyu states firmly, taking a step closer to her. “You kissed me back.” He removes his apron this time and carefully sets it aside.
Your arms cross defensively. “And what if I did?”
“Just admit it,” Mingyu insists, his voice tinged with exasperation. “I kissed you because I like you, you kissed me back, and now you keep saying you were drunk and it was nothing?”
“Stop saying the word ‘kiss’!” You retort, your irritation becoming more obvious.
“Stop acting like a child!” Mingyu shoots back, his frustration building up.
“I was just experimenting, okay? Can we drop it now?” Your tone softens slightly as you resigns herself to the conversation.
“Experimenting? For what? You’re unbelievable! Are we guinea pigs now to experiment your feelings on?” Mingyu’s disbelief is palpable.
“I was trying to see if it was real,” you admit reluctantly, her voice barely above a whisper.
“What is?” Mingyu’s gaze softens as he meets her eyes.
“You and I,” you replie quietly, your defenses crumbling. “Whatever this is.”
There’s a moment of silence as they both process your confession.
Finally, you sigh, tone resigned. “I was just checking. Making sure what I felt was real. So I can confront it and have the guts to tell you.”
“But you kissed me, so I kissed you back, and then I went crazy, so I wanted to think about it for days, hence me trying to convince myself and you all that I was drunk!”
Mingyu’s eyes soften, a hint of understanding dawning in them as they trail from her eyes to her lips. “Well, do you want to check again?” he asks softly.
You chuckle, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. “You’re so stupid,” you murmur. “I’m not kissing you again.”
“You want to,” Mingyu insists, leaning in closer.
You place your palm on his chest, stopping him from closing the gap. “Yeah, I kinda do,” you admit, before leaning in for a short kiss.

Another fun contrast between Jason and Salim. As much as Salim believes in the good of other people ("Most people are good") and in his own abilities (his "I'm fast enough" threat to Jason as well as his repeated comments Jason will need Salim's help more than Salim needs his to survive), Salim can hold a pretty negative view of their immediate future.
Whereas Jason, as cynical as he can be about other people, often acts fully convinced about their success ("May God be my witness, we're gonna succeed" and "We're gonna see the sun again" and his "Yeah those things are tough, but you and me are tougher" to Nick, etc.). Whether he actually believes that is another matter, but he definitely plays the role of confident leader.
That's gotta be reassuring to Salim, that no matter what hellscape they're in, and no matter how much of an asshole Jason can be, Jason will have some words of bravado to air how utterly convinced he is of their mission success. And Salim can't easily dismiss that either, since Jason's survival as a Marine in general and his survival in the House of Ashes against all the vampires means he's gotta be a very skilled fighter. So no matter how pessimistic Salim might get about their odds, Jason brings the hope.

Beware: a pessimistic rant with lots of speculations
Imo the decision to write Alicent and Criston having sex during b&c is really bad. I think it's a very unnecessary change, and I don't see how it fits the narrative. And it's so obvious what the writers' intentions are. They are not interested in exploring these characters and their relationship. They just want to shift the focus away from blood and cheese and make the greens look bad. Of course, in no way Alicent and Criston having sex makes them guilty of the tragedy that is b&c. But it seems that the show is taking the focus away from team black's fault to blame the greens. I don't believe that the showrunners don't know what they are doing.
In the books, Alicent was right there when it happened. She was the witness of team black's cruelty. She saw how they tormented her sweet daughter and her grandchildren, how they killed her grandson. Murderers making Alicent witness everything contributed to how vile b&c was, how unnecessary cruel. It gave Alicent even more motivation to fight her family's enemies and seek revenge. But now, thanks to hotd's bullshit she's going to blame herself more than anyone else. Wonderful. Why make her absent during b&c and add this new plotline about her feeling guilty because of it? Because god forbid Alicent starts being angry and hating her enemies again, right? They just have to make Alicent conflicted about her every action. They can't allow her to have confidence again. She has to always blame herself. They just have to make Alicent and Criston continue feeling bad about themselves.
There's also this picture:
Are they making it so that Aegon doesn't notice the murderer right under his nose?
So what do we get? Aegon doesn't notice Blood, probably because he's lightheaded or drunk. Alicent and Criston are absent having sex. And I'm not going to be surprised if they make Aemond go to the brothel during b&c, too. It feels like a joke.
B&C is supposed to show the cruelty team black is capable of. But instead of focusing on that, they're going to make all the greens look incompetent and feel guilty. And knowing this show they might even frame it as if the greens are at fault for what happened too. Tbh it's disgusting. The only people who are guilty are the ones who ordered, orchestrated and executed this bloody spectacle. But they are probably gonna not just make Daemon the only one behind it, but make the whole thing an accident. We already have leaks saying that Rhaenyra and Daemon just wanted to kill Aemond. It's going to be so bad.
House of the dragon? No, house of the accidents. House of the cringe and bad writing.

Aightt,I had an idea for fluff dtk x (gn)reader who is Asymmetrical, meaning their appearance is Asymmetrical/messy n they're somewhat more chaotic. Basically a whole polar opposite of Kid. But yet they somehow work together,as if they complete each other(like reader helping Kid calm down when he's worried abt smth being asymmetrical too much,n Kid calming down reader when they act as if they got sugar overdose n would destroy everything on their way)
Basically yin n yang couple,,,
It can be a oneshot,or headcanon,or both,,I'd lov to read anything:))
OMG THIS IS BASICALLY ESU 72(my OC) AND KID ALREADY EJFKEKFK dw I got this in the baaaaag😔😔😔👏👏👏👏 This just an excuse to ramble about how much I LOOOOVE THIS DYNAMIC😩😩😩 (Pictures of Esu will be at the end if you're curious about her!)
Death the Kid x Asymmetrical!Reader~☆٭꙳
TW: Kid swears cuz he's potty mouth, other than that we gucci!!
☆ You.
☆ YOU.
☆ You were HORRIBLY asymmetrical and so unbearably friendly. With your stupid outfit and uneven bangs. They were lopsided!! Oh it drove him CRAZY.
☆ But your overly friendly rear end just keeps on /showing/ up. You never seem to want to leave him alone.
☆ Everything about you two was different, even down to your colour schemes!
☆ He was a pessimist, you were an optimist. He was an asshole, you were a ray of sunshine. He was a ballerina, you were a punk. (/j about that one.)
☆ Even your combat styles managed to be opposites with him being far ranged and fast you being hand to hand and a little slower.
☆ But somehow, that made you guys work like clock work almost.
☆ Where he falters, you cover him. And where you struggle, he picks up your slack.
☆ For instance, he isn't the most social person but definitely knows how to carry a conversation where as you want to make friends, but you're extremely awkward.
☆ So he'll help pull up topics for you while you do all the talking for him.
☆ Me thinks you guys would have matching outfits, but in an opposites kinda way.
☆ Like he'd wear black and purple with yellow accents and you'd wear white and yellow with purple accents. You feel me?
☆ You're also kind of more on the dumb side, so he helps you with homework since he's the brains of the two of you.
☆ But you're infuriating little grin makes up for your dense noggin.
☆ You probably wear lots of colours opposed to Kid's monochromatic colour scheme. Like that one rainbow hair girl and the goth one, yeah that's you and Kid.
☆ I imagine you'd also try your best to straighten paintings with Kid but always be an inch off and he'd rant and rave at you.
☆ But he also apologizes after cuz he realises he was being a douche and you were just trying your best:(
☆ "Damnit, I'm sorry that was impolite. I... didn't mean any of that. You're much more than trash, I assure you."
☆ There was one time you made a bracelet for him, but he refused to wear it cuz it'd make him asymmetrical and unbalanced so you turned around and left.
☆ He thought he upset you so he went to find you, turns out you were making a matching bracelet for him to wear on the other arm so he'd stay balanced.
☆ God he loves you so much and doesn't even realise it. Boy is down bad.
☆ You guys really are like the sun and moon, a golden retriever and a black cat.
☆ Completely opposite, but that also makes you perfectly balanced. You two work together in perfect sync and fill in gaps the other leaves. Two pieces of a puzzle stuck together flawlessly.
☆ Like the little dancers in a music box.
☆ No matter how much of this you point out though, he'll still vehemently deny all of it.
☆ But like, you also do your best to fold toilet-paper for him so maybe you're not too bad. (He would die for you.)
-----
Heeeere's Esu! I'd lore dump for hours but that'd make this post ten times as long٩( ᐛ )و So I'll leave it with just the info in the reference! Hope you enjoyed the little thingy, stay hydrated and eat well!!! ✨✨✨

Can I just say that I lost, regained, lost again but now regained my hope in MCR5??
This last week was really something.
I feel like with the whole L.S. Dunes album, MCR wouldn't release new music because obviously Frank is going to be busy with that. Like that is what made me not believe in it instead of Frank verbally saying that he doesn't think that MCR will ever work on any new music again.
But also, the day after night one of WWWYF I just started thinking to myself, they look like they're really enjoying this and that made me think why wouldn't they want to release new music, or at least tour again??
For the whole year, I had told myself that if MCR5 wasn't announced at When We Were Young, it's not happening. But this morning after watching that livestream, I couldn't even bring myself to be sad about it because I was on such a high from seeing them perform for two nights in a row. It was only until I was in period 3 Spanish which was so fucking boring might I add I don't like my teacher I want my other one back, that I realised that this probably meant no MCR5. Like they seriously looked like they had no intention of doing anything else after this festival from that performance.
But then I just thought to myself again. That whole "gift of music" shit made me think that maybe, just maybe we'll get MCR5. Obviously Gerard was referring to them performing live, but guys I am so fucking delusional and I do genuinely believe it's real. I don't think that Danger Days will be their last ever work, because it just doesn't sit right with me. After what we saw at When We Were Young Festival, the black funeral-looking outfits, the stuff being displayed behind them, I don't think they would want their last work to be something fun and colourful like Danger Days but something more mature and dark. I guess you could argue that's what Foundations is, but I don't think Foundations is enough to sum up this era of MCR.
As well as that, we know they like playing live. Gerard literally said it during the Return tour and Frank mentioned how he thought of MCR headlining Reading & Leeds (oh my god please do, this one I can actually go to) in a kerrang interview in January this year.
Do I think that it's happening any time soon? No. Do I think that it will happen? Yes. Maybe late 2025, 2026.
As for Frank saying that he doesn't think that MCR will make any new music, I quite simply don't believe him, especially after what he said about MCR's return like DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN GUYS
I'm not trying to be pessimistic, and in all honesty, I am praying that MCR's instagram is gonna make a surprise post and tell us that a fifth album is real the next morning, but I really wanted to post this somewhere and I made this blog to yap about my special interest so I'm sorry if this has upset anyone
If anyone has read this far, please leave your opinion in the comments I wanna hear what other people are thinking

The grills have fallen still. After a long and productive barbecuing season, the weather has turned and we now face the grim reality of not being able to cook steak outside for the next six to ten months. A pessimist would say that's okay, because nobody can afford steak anymore. An optimist would say that's not okay, because the grocery store doesn't have as much security over the winter.
My own relationship with barbecue is very complicated. Like some of you, I was raised in a traditional household, where it was expected that the man of the house makes dinner approximately once per year, and only with some kind of outdoor grilling implement. This was always either undercooked or near-burned, and so I never quite "got" the cult of televised grilled food competitions that arrived at the turn of the century, when people were losing faith in the old gods of Iron Chef and looking for a new bandwagon to climb onto.
Perhaps things are different down in the south, where the mild weather means that the outdoor chefs get a chance to char their meat at least twice per year. And they're close to places that have actual spices, so close that it seems likely that by sheer chance, a truck full of jalapeños could crash nearby and flavour the meat with aerosolized peppers while the operator of the grille is distracted by the arrival of the fire department. I don't know for sure, and I don't want to speak to their unique culture of "making food hotter."
For me, personally, the only way to enjoy food cooked outside is on a hot exhaust manifold. Wrap your purloined porkchops in tinfoil, slam them into the nookiest part of the engine's hotside, and go for a drive.
When you're done, the food should be well above safe operating temperature. And if not, the thin film of unburned gasoline and oil coming out of the leaking intake manifold gasket ought to kill whatever bacteria is living in there anyway. Importantly, you get a chance to practice this skill each and every time you are forced by the hostile aims of terminal-stage capitalism to drive to work. It's the fastest way to improve your barbecuing game and amaze the neighbours. And why stop there? When you get a Michelin star, you let me know. I bet you get a discount on tires.
