okay listen. I get the urge to talk about my favorite life series ship like it's Canon in every season...BUT. THAT HAS NEVER ONCE BEEN THE CASE.

Yes, Jimmy would be upset if Tango canaried (technical scientific term for that). Everyone would be- even I would be, and I've never watched a single one of his videos. Canarying sucks, and it hurts. Of course I would be upset. THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT I THINK JIMMY WOULD BREAK DOWN SOBBING FROM A CHARACTER STAND POINT. They have had only like... THREE on screen interactions. One is Tango murdering a man infront of Jimmy and another is Tango cheerfully burning down something one of Jimmy's teammates worked very hard on. WildLifeChara!Jimmy has more reason to hate or be afraid of WildLifeChara!Tango than to be madly in love with him.

I promise you, if Tango had offered Jimmy a life instead of Ren, people wouldn't shut up about for MONTHS. But, because it's Ren, somehow the interaction isn't NEARLY as homoerotic??? I understand having NOTP's, but the Jimmy/Ren ship doesn't even show up ONCE on ao3. Zero fics. ZE-RO. There's no reason to hate something that doesn't even exist.

This same concept applies for Flower Husbands as well- not just in Wild Life, and Secret Life and Limited Life and Last Life and Real Life though- in Empires.

I have no clue about Empires Season 1, but they barely interacted in Empires Season 2- and yet the amount of ship art I sift through on a weekly basis for my side blog is actually insane. Yeah, the few interactions WERE important, but I think Scott only flirted (in video) with Jimmy maaybbeeee three times. I have no idea what the count of that for streaming is, but I swear it is not enough to keep that number so inflated.

Although, honestly, this problem might just be affecting me because of my personal view on shipping- if it's in a context where it doesn't make sense for the characters to be romantically engaged, I won't read it or write it.

For example, my beloved Solidwood! I mostly get their vibes or read their fics from the following series: Evo, Last Life, New Life, Empires2, Secret Life. That's because those settings make sense! They are active, they are engaged, they have near constant interactions or very close base locations. It makes SENSE for them to be shipped. However, if you showed me art or fic of them in, say, Limited Life, I'd furrow my brow and tilt my head and say "no, that doesn't do anything for me." BECAUSE THEY HAVE ZERO REASON TO BE INVESTED ROMANTICALLY IN ONE ANOTHER THERE, AS A STAND ALONE SETTING.

Most of the major Jimmy ships, though, don't follow this rule. I can understand loving a ship so much you want to see it everywhere- but, I promise you, stepping back and looking at which characters actually have chemistry regarding the new setting and social system will do wonders... you won't have to think of new Au's to insert your favorite ship into a new setting... all ships will be your favorite ship (unless they give you the ick). Join the multishiper hivemind /j

No but honestly it's gotten to the point where I will like or dislike a creator/character of theirs by what ship is their most popular given the context of the setting. Like, Tango in Double Life? Awww the sweetie!! I love him :) and then Tango in Empires2 sets off alarm bells in my brain screaming at me. He is NOT meant to be here bringing that ship here, this is NOT its territory. Same problem for Scott in nearly damn near every SMP both Jimmy and him are in... except Wild Life because he's actually been pretty nice and not condescending or forcing on Jimmy. I guess also power imbalances in how fans view them is a major no-go for me...

TLDR; Lots of popular ships are inserted into settings without a thought for what that would mean for the setting and any changes in the established social connections, which gives OP the ick. I'm also not policing ships I'm just begging people to please either understand more ships using in setting context or list their AU details in the summaries of the fics. This goes hand in hand with misinterpreting characters in writing also... the more ships you like the more characters you will get to get good at writing!!!!

I actually do not believe humans have a guiding moral system. That does not predict or explain human behavior very well at all. Most people's behavior is far more easily explained by their emotions, their needs, and what everyone around them considers it to be normal to do. Most people will instinctively stay alive, stay comfortable, and avoid social ostracism, and their actions flow clearly from that. the patterns of behavior are predictable, but not morally consistent or principled.

And in the absence of adhering to true "morals," most humans don't go around killing/maiming/assaulting people anyway. Because there is little reason to. it's rarely fun or enjoyable, and dealing with the fallout of it would be a real pain.

I always wonder why moral theorists assume we need some belief system to keep us from killing one another. What do you get out of killing someone? It is exhausting and messy. Animals do not have a moral system and they don't go around killing other animals for no good reason. Even predator animals are highly selective in what they try to kill, because killing consumes a huge amount of energy and attempting to kill is dangerous. no living being goes around recklessly doing violence because it's bad for it, the animal.

We do not have to worry about humans being wantonly "evil". Most behaviors that we label as evil are a huge pain in the ass to do, with zero clear gain. when humans do treat one another violently there is virtually always some intense overpowering need they are trying to meet, some survival stakes that make it the better option in that moment than doing nothing.

The acts of violence and abuse that happen in the world on a more global scale occur not because of someone lacking morals, but because people in power have a vested economic or political reason to do it, and face relatively low risk. It is easy for the leaders of imperial powers to genocide people, it does not place them in physical danger, and they stand to gain a lot from it. thats why it happens. thats what we gotta worry about. that some people have clear incentives to kill/maim/rape on a global scale, and doing so costs them nearly nothing. not that people are "evil"

TSUKISHIMA

☆ he notices almost immediately that the new manager is picking on you. she’s trying to be subtle, but he’s not stupid. he can see the way your expression falls a bit every time she says something backhanded, and it makes him pissed. you’re such a sweet girl, even to him, and seeing someone purposely make fun of you and belittle you makes him angry. he definitely makes it known that he does not like the new manager, so if she’s feeling any type of way about him, those feelings are soon gone. every time she says something to you, he’s quick to spit an insult back at her in your defense, because he knows you won’t do it yourself.

☆ he’s always the first to try your baked goods, and he’s not one to praise anyone, but he always has kind words for you. especially in front of her. if she says something nasty, he’s countering it and brushing her off.

☆ you two have a private conversation about it, and he reassures you that he thinks you’re the prettiest girl he’s ever seen, and that she’s just jealous of you. those words coming from tsukishima is definitely a confidence booster, so you try to just stop talking to her altogether.

YAMAGUCHI

☆ i feel like he’s able to recognize the signs of bullying because he went through the same things when he was younger… and maybe because of tsukishima as well.

☆ he isn’t a fan of anyone talking to you in a nasty way, and he wants to stick up for you because he was grateful when tsukki stuck up for him all those years ago. he wants to be like that for someone else too.

☆ i think he’d be more subtle about it than tsukishima though. maybe not direct insults to her, but definitely would whisper and giggle about her and make it obvious. shit talks behind her back 100%.

☆ he compliments you every day anyway, so there’s no need to feel insecure about some random girl that’s being rude for no reason. though he can’t even fathom how anyone would dislike you. he tries to just take up all your free time during practice so she’s not even able to get a word in.

KENMA

☆ definitely notices pretty quickly. he’s practically always looking at you, he’s got a staring problem. he’s watching you everytime she says something, and he sees the way you frown and grow awkward, trying to laugh off whatever she said. it makes him annoyed, you’re prefect in his eyes. people like that piss him off.

☆ he wouldn’t directly say anything, but he’d drag you off whenever she tries to talk to you. if he’s not able to, he advises you to basically ignore her unless it’s manager stuff about the team.

☆ he'd complain to kuroo about it because he’s captain, and because that’s his best friend. kuroo cares about you nearly as much as kenma, so you can bet that situation is getting handled pretty quickly. the whole team loves you, especially because you always bake sweets for them. it makes things awkward for the girl for a while until she eventually resigns as manager.

since i already teased lil bit from this page a few days ago, i thought might as well show the whole thing!! obviously not final, but very close to it. frankly i've been meaning to have this next part done before 2025, yet i kept getting really sick, and having to manage several projects and irl issues/events. hopefully within my last spring semester i can continue working little by little but i can't genuinely guarantee a date. other than later this year LMAO. but what i CAN guarantee is i'm making sure its as great- maybe even better than pt2 as i'm putting a little more effort and thought from improving the past few months. alas, it is slowly in the works and reminder to folks i AM in my senior year and will be graduating THIS SPRING!! yippee!!! hopefully, after this event i can get back to prioritizing this one as i slowly get back to college. either way, once its done, i hope you guys will enjoy it as much as i do and hopefully the wait will be somewhat worth it. until then, wait patiently fuckers /silly

this is a illustration piece i made for my screen printing class! with the printed one being off from the reference since i put the color order wrong LMAO and i also wanted to experiment how chaotic i could make it hehehe. kinda shy to share this piece in particular, but its honestly one of my favorites i've done, so theres no harm in sharing

the same class, but as 1/3 of my final, i had to make books! but because i'm horrible with using pins and too picky with paper + string alignment, i thought it would be best i do... well... a very silly collage-like project xDDD buTT!! this one taking the opportunity to make a cool TSB book!!!

She turns from you, ready to forget this entire interaction and turn back to her food

Then she jumps, yelping when you bump your shoulder against hers

“A golden shower for goldie locks?”, you attempt to joke, raising your hand

She shivers when your finger twists a curl of her hair around it, bringing attention to her blonde hair

She grimaces for a moment, hoping it might just pull the attention away from the fierce blush that takes over her cheeks

“N-No thank you”, she stammers, face entirely red

You frown, confused

You’ve never seen her this flustered

She reaches for her wine glass, hoping the blood-wine might help, if only a little bit

Then, you straighten up, giggling as you think you come to the realization as to why she’s acting like this

Upon being asked what you’d do if you won, you answer so very boldly;

“I don’t want it!”, she growls quietly, shooting a dirty look at Daniela as she keeps on laughing, tears building up by her eyes already

You pout, almost

“It’ll be really warm though, Cass! Just think about it, each time we’re sad, we can be sad in our golden showers!”

She snarls

“Will you stop saying golden shower?!”

Bela, unable to keep from laughing too, coos at her sister’s embarrassment

It’s rare to see Cassandra this flustered, but it’s such a fun sight, she doesn’t correct or even just inform you of what your words imply

Pulling back, you too coo as you see Cassandra’s bright pink cheeks

You’ve rarely seen her like this!

You suppose, she just feels very strongly about golden showers…

Daniela

“Have you ever had one?”, you ask her, well aware of her liking towards shiny things, and especially gold

The poor thing feels like she might burst

Her flies buzz loudly, her golden eyes are wide

Her blush quickly spreads from her cheeks down her neck and even to the top of her cleavage

She shakes her head quietly, stammering about this and that, her words hardly making any sense in the first place

You frown, confused

“We could share! I’ll let you have a turn when I’m getting dry and comfy again”, you giggle, but the playful words only add to her embarrassment and flustered state

At first, her sisters were laughing and Alcina only shook her head a little

Now, overprotective as always, the three are quiet

Bela’s arms are crossed, Alcina practically glares across the table and Cassandra already rises to her seat

While she enjoys seeing her little sister so flustered, even gets a good laugh from it, she will not stand for anybody speaking to her like this

At the dinner table nonetheless!

Seeing this, Daniela quickly raises her hand, slapping it over your lips gently to shush you

“Maybe think of another wish”, she insists

The later has come,

So per my last point, I was possessed by an idea where Bee and Soundwave are sexy calendar models/pin up models or maybe even Only Fans Stars? The point is both get to show off and have fun

The main idea was for this to be setting for G1 universe where Bee has rare day off but decided to do favour to (Carly? Spikes girlfriend) and drive her to her appointment-which is secretly a side hustle where she models for those things and gets payed quite handsomely- which he did few times already but this time he actually decided to use his holoform and followed her inside

On the photo shoot the photographer takes notice of bee and manages to convince him to join the shoot and thus the first calendar is made.

Bee gets a copy given to him through Carly and he hides it in his room away from anyway, not knowing that there were several copies made.

Meanwhile Soundwave is doing a reckon in the human world with his own holoform (trying out new music the humans put out) when a calendar on top of the shelves manges to get his attention, more specifically a supposed autobot tattoo on one of the models.

He would have dismissed it as a tattoo a human got to show off their support for autobot faction if it wasn't for the fact that he does recognise said model, or at least that particular shade of blue and the signature blond of the autobot scout-

But also no, it should not have been possible because thats autobot scout and out pure morbid curiosity he buys one alongside his new music tapes.

Later after thoroughly checking the calendar just to confirm, that yes, that was autobot scout and yes he is going to investigate further.... For curiosity, no other reason....

And so begin Soundwave investigation (stalking) he manages to sneak into one of the shoots in his holoform, Bee recognises him when he gets ready with Carly by some of the helpers and make up artists and has pure panic in his eyes at that.

The photographer in charge of the shoot is immediately like "I smell drama" and thinks that one of Bee exes so to be a little shot decided to get Soundwave into the shoot and hey, the shoot theme is all about hacking and Soundwave looks like he could fit in that role!!!!

Carly is having time of her life as she recognises the specific mask and glasses design and she finds it fucking hilarious.

After the photoshoot Soundwave escape and next time Carly comes over, she nearly gets blown to pieces when she hands bee two packages and he looses his cool from the embarrassment.

Next battle Soundwave does get the package tho

i do think he is like . not immune to falling in love in the same way that oliver is. olivers aversion to love is pretty delibrate but otoya is not really doing it out of like... something deeper he just likes to pursue whatever is light and fun for him which is why he dates a million girls at a time and he's also kind of dumbass ❤️

my opinion of both him and karasu changed a bit when they released the panels of him in episode nagi spin off and it was basically saying he's no thoughts head empty and kind of a whore. but it's like for the love of the game and i dont think he pisses you off nearly as much as oliver does.

im not defending him like he's an idiot but i do think he's harmless and i dont think it's a herculean labor to get him to catch feelings for you but it's not something you can force by pursuing him? i think if you want to date otoya you really Really have to be his friend.

like. you can't date him off the bat because he automatically sees dating = playing around. you have to be his friend for a few years first i think to get him to view you as a person and not a dating partner. and at some point during that i think he uses the empty space in his head to form a thought and kind of lands upon - it's more fun being with you than it is dating other girls

so in my head it plays out like. you become good close friends and stay like that for a while. you get along well. otoya enjoys hanging out and having fun with you more than he likes dating around at some point. he decides to ask you out kind of frivolously though its just for kicks and you know that already.

and you have to tell him no i think. LMAO. otoya is not a serious person. flat out rejection and telling him explicitly why you're rejecting him is the only way to get him to self reflect at all. saying you won't date him because you want a serious relationship and boyfriend is the only way to get him to consider it.

and like. tbh even then it's not really going to hit him right away. he's kind of annoyed by it and a little sad. but his whole thing is not to worry about something so he shrugs it off at first because you dont have any reason to stop being friends and spend a lot of time together still.

i think the only time he will reflect on this is when you after he realizes he likes you in some way and after you start dating someone else.

someone seriously pursuing you is kind of a pain. they take away the time you spend with him and it's also weirdly annoying to him to see you fawn over someone. he tries to write it off several times after that too tho lol

eventually he asks you again to date him. and it's when you're dating another dude and have been for a while. basically saying you can cheat on your bf with him. this is a really roudabout way to get you to hang w him again.

and when you're like ? im not doing that lol. he gets genuinely like confused. asks if this guy is really that great.

when you respond that he is otoya is like . well whatever. and he leaves to go play around again. doesn't think about it. but he does notice how everything feels kind of dull

its not exciting anymore. but he just ignores it for a while.

i think it only really dawns on him when he sees like. a video of you and your current boyfriend. you're at an arcade. it's not a romantic post but it's like a Silly Fun post where you're getting along and doing something fun.

thats like. the first time he gets seriously annoyed with it. and he goes to consult with karasu (who thinks this entire thing is so fucking funny btw. and makes him respect you way more than before) and karasu is like dude lol

and otoya doesn't get it. karasu sort of lays it out like you're just jealous dude. and otoya is like huh.

karasu is frank and tells otoya to give up on you LMFAOOOO. because you have enough self respect to turn him down and you know what otoya is like. and otoya is like but im bored without them. and karasu laughs himself into a fit and is like tough shit that's karma for you lol

he doesn't know what to do after that. it's really suffocating and bothersome for him. and like. you're one of his best friends and he likes you and feels good being around you so he's really dejected about this.

i think he goes to hang out and says all of this to you. and you're not surprised bc you do know him well he's your best friend. and you're like we can still hang out but i have a bf dude i want to be with him.

and he just like. outright asks what would make you reconsider. and you're like LMAO?

so you give him the rundown on your standards. no cheating is bare minimum. and you give him your actual list of standards and he's like how can i do that if we're not dating.

u dont take him seriously so you tell him that if he can stop talking to multiple girls at once you'll seriously consider him. and he doesn't think to agree but he gets that irritated feeling thinking about you not having fun w him again and agrees.

anyways. i do think you get through to him eventually. but like with oliver you have to set your boundaries firm and make it clear that you're not gonna bend to him just cause you're friends. and your relationship is probably rocky until he's at real risk of losing you forever at least once.

i think at some point though down the line he's like. being with you is more fun. and he likes to make you happy and shit. and he is also a little easily jealous which is deeply hypocritical.

ok so i kept TRYING to think about it as i drew but i legit couldnt come up with anything. so ill try to scramble out ideas now

it would take place in s2 because i drew them with the X/Os on their shirts (and s2 is more fun to me). . . spoilers ahead most likely. also SUPER disorganized and messy because if i tried to make this organized and clean itd take me an hour

so squid game AU where they all existed without slendy. im gonna focus on toby/nat/nina/kate/EJ(the creepjects) but ill mention jeff, ben, lulu, ann, brian, tim, jane, and liu

why theyre in debt/how the salesman approached them

toby is not a proxy, he's in the games because his mom is in a ton of medical debt after lyra's death and she went back to frank bc of it. toby is in there to relieve her debt, mostly so she can leave frank for good. he never killed his dad. the salesman prob came up to him after he and his dad got into a really violent fight after lyras death and he stormed out and was in a really bad spot.

similarly, i sort of like the idea of Jack's parents going into debt. its not his fault at all, but his dad maybe starts gambling for fun, it spirals out of control, he keeps desperately gambling to fix his mistakes, and its fucking up their (and all his 5 siblings) lives. i think he'd get approached by the salesman after pulling a lot of his own savings out to help his parents, only for it to barely make a dent in their debt and causing a huge argument between him and his dad.

natalie would fall into student loan debt after she moves states away for art school to escape her family, and they never had any savings, so the expenses piled up and financial aid/working multiple jobs couldnt keep up with them. she was approached by the salesman after cussing out a customer and getting fired on the spot cuz of it.

nina was big on buying, reselling, etc with a lot of fashion items. she eventually would get into a lot of luxury items, which immediately up the prices. even if they werent scams, she probably shouldnt have been buying them anyway, but she got screwed over severely and fall into credit card debt. however instead of trying to pay it off, she'd keep fucking herself cuz she has no self control. doesnt even realize how bad her debt is till its unsalvageable. salesman prob approached her after her card got declined and she finally called her bank and got the news and started freaking out.

i think kate was just pulling out loans to afford basic things. probably started with a car because she was young and fresh out of the foster system(IN A NON-SLENDY AU BTW) and needed transportation so she can work and get settled into her adult life. fucked over by a loan shark who took advantage of her being financially illiterate and had insane interest rates, resulting in her pulling out more loans to avoid getting her ass kicked, only for it to spiral. prob got approached by salesman after a loan shark roughed her up for being late and shes on her last leg

this is really hard cuz i love them all so much i dont wanna kill any of them and i can think of 100 reasons for why each would be 'good' to kill off for the sake of the story and 100 reasons why their death would be bad for my soul

SO REDLIGHT GREENLIGHT

i think in redlightgreenlight, kate and toby wouldve been arguing abotu some stupid shit. kate shoves toby when the song ends, he hits the floor, and the doll turns around. hes still on the floor, and some people start getting shot. thats when they realize this is a death game and kate realizes she nearly killed him(and possibly herself) if she pushed him even 5 seconds later.

realistically, nina would die in redlightgreenlight because the blood/gunshots would scare her so bad she'd be one of the people shaking, screaming, or running. BUT I DONT WANT HER TO SO THIS DEATH CAN BE HYPOTHETICAL.

SO ILL SAY INSTEAD the reason nina survives despite her shaking is because she's hiding behind Clocky. who is doing good at the game and doesnt even realize nina has been hiding behind her until the end of the game, in which she turns around like "...?why are you standing so close back up."

i think jack would be sort of quiet and not really notable in the first game. i dunno why but he seems like a character that would show up later. OR he'd be like Ali(199 s1) or Hyun-ju(120 s2) who makes their first big move by saving someone else, even if it risks their life.

SO THEN THE FIRST VOTE.

nina immediately votes X, clocky votes O, toby votes O, kate votes O, EJ votes O. theyre all desperate and think the only reason ppl lost redlightgreenlight was fear/confusion, and that the next games cant be that bad.

THEN THE SIX LEGGED PENTATHALON.

they'd all get put together.

toby would play ddakji. clocky plays flying stone. nina plays gong-gi. jack plays spinning top. kate plays jegi.

i think for other creeps, id prob shove some of them into a group against their will where they'd go in super confident and then die. like jeff/ben/lulu would be in a group, asking Ann to join. she'd reject them, and die in her own group

SO THE SECOND VOTE

EJ, Nina, and Clocky vote X. Kate and Toby vote O. clocky screams at them for it. kate just kinda sits there and lets her yell, but toby argues back. "you selfish fucking pricks why would you do that?!" "i need the fucking money man EVERYONE here needs the money stop bitching!" etc. Nina doesnt talk to them for the rest of the night, till the next game. EJ talks to them and is like "i understand. it was your decision, not mine." because he also almost voted O

SO MINGLE.

round one with 10 people, they get grouped with jeff(013), ben(404), lulu(400), jane(119), and liu(310). (i think jeff would be dragging lulu around everywhere. ben follows jeff voluntarily, jane and liu end up there cuz they needed two more)

round two with 4, jack and clocky are like "go take the other three into a room ill find someone else" but theyre losing time arguing, so toby and kate end up dragging clocky. so clocky, nina, kate, and toby in a room. jack barely scrapes by with another room, so theyre all so relieved when he shows up - but theres a moment of awkward tension between toby and jack, because toby chose clocky without second thought

round 3 with 3, toby, kate, and clocky get in a room together. nina is freaking out grabbing onto jack in near tears, and before jack can find someone, another tim(209) and brian(214) grab nina and force her into a room. leaving jack with nobody.

JACK IS ELIMATED IN MINGLE. nina is screaming banging on the wall. the others have no idea he's dead until they see nina choking on her tears.

round 4 with 6, nina doesnt wanna go with toby or kate anymore, but clocky begs her to just stick with them. so nina, toby, kate, and clocky. jeff and ben join them, leaving lulu to die. jeff defends himself saying he swore he left her with a group of 5.

round 5 with 2, toby and kate. nina and clocky. jeff and ben. jane and liu. tim and a random man who forced his way into the room before brian could, leaving brian to die. tim starts beating the man while the door is locked, nearly killing him before the door opens.

lulu, jack, and brian are elimated in mingle.

SO VOTE 3...

Clocky, Nina, Jane, Liu, Tim, and Toby vote X. Jeff, Ben, and Kate vote O.

nina's the one to scream at kate now, but kate once again just sits there and takes it. kate is Unfortunately Quite indifferent to herself or the people around her dying. toby voted X this time cuz of Jack's death + Nina and Clocky are just so distraught.

kate, being 008, is one of the last people to vote so it's a huge like ?! moment.

then the bathroom scene happens after the tie . . .

i think ben and liu die in the bathroom scene. liu didnt mean to get into a fight, and ben bit off more than he could chew. jeff is losing his mind cuz he's all alone now. jane is distraught after lius death so clocky/nina console her. kate sees toby covered in blood and she's shaken up by it.

SO LIGHTS OUT HAPPENS.

jeff kills jane. im sorry. im so sorry. she doesn't deserve it but he'd go straight for her.

this literally only leaves clocky, nina, toby, kate, jeff, and tim as MC's...

ok the issue here now is How would the whole revolution happen... i think tim would have to be in gi-hun/456's position and he's the one to lead it.

tim, toby, clocky, kate would go. nina and jeff stay back cuz jeff WANTS to stay in the game and nina doesnt wanna die (plus the others wouldnt let her join).

Au fics that i think are neat and that i want to compile into a list because im trying to figure out how to comment on a chapter of a fic but i need time to sort out my thoughts (usually for fic recs i try to rec fics with less kudos/engagement because reasons but im just gonna throw everything in this list. probably multiple fics by the same author in the same universe because thats the one im trying to sort out my thoughts on.)

the strawberries are dying by eggowlss - historical fiction and very interesting character relationships and also character exploration within the time period. I really like this one because the pacing and tone are very gentle. There’s a srt of ebb and flow to the story that makes both the time period and the characters really fit into it. idk how to describe it i just like it a lot.

in the quiet of the night (acswy ao3 series) - they’re putting those characters in situations. It’s a very good time. 10/10 do recommend. If you haven't heard of this one though, it’s basically a modern au where everyone works at a summer camp and Mike and Will cause problems for themselves, each other, and usually everyone else around them. 

si vis amari, ama by perexcri - demons and angels and heaven and hell and its honestly just one hell of a story. like ive got vivid images in my head of scenes i imagined when reading this. 

you start to kiss (and the record skips) by eclipseadventure - this is a band au with a side of a secret relationship and im a sucker for secret relationships. a bit of drama/high stakes in here too which is always pretty fun. 

End Racism on the OTW! - you and me and the horrible teenaged ghost who keeps eviscerating himself in our apartment makes three by TheWrongKindOfPC - i am also a sucker for buzzfeed unsolved aus. buzzfeed unsolved, hauntings, ghosts, yknow the fun stuff. 

into the daylight by andiwriteordie - THIS IS NOT THE FIRST ONE, it’s just the first one that came up in my bookmarks. anyways, this is the second fic in a fantasy au series. The worldbuilding is really cool and there’s magic and history and politics and i like it a lot. the most recent chapter is spinning around in my mind.

beneath these boughs, my devotion blooms by perexcri - this is the fic that nearly killed me. i literally cant summarize it because im still recovering from what happened to me when i read it. Did i read it in april? Maybe. Listen, it had me asking questions about things i had never considered before. its 11k but im pretty sure it took me a good few hours to read because it made me think about it so much. again, ive got a bunch of visuals running through my head. its just... so much.

sweetheart, you're so cruel by perexcri - Mike’s in a band, Will’s a music snob, they’re both contemplating their life choices. very fun, very interesting, also made me think about some things. 

keep it hush by wiseatom - theres an amusement park and the horrors of customer service. and some other stuff but basically its pretty bright (the visuals of the fic in my head are bright- like sun glinting off metal- and idk how else to describe it)

the start of an age by delusionaltogether (Whyyyyy) - this ones funny and serious at times and its got Max in it. fantasy au with prince will and knight mike and a secret relationship and a small scheme between three parties that involves a fake (ish) marriage. 

superhero therapy by silverluminoqity - spiderman au with a side of trauma and healing? it’s complicated theres stuff happening, i had a good time reading it. 

you've got this spell on me by andiwriteordie - this one was really fun. basically its a fantasy au theres magic and mike gets himself hit with a spell that makes him fall in love with will and will freaks out about it for a while.

Daydream by disaster_energy - i really really liked this fic. its a fantasy au and its got gods and stuff and will gets chosen by the moon goddess because hes Will and everyone is like... woah.

takes one to know one by andiwriteordie - i also liked this one a lot, its a superhero au and its got ironic (like... dramatic irony- i think is what im talking about? maybe? but like fun irony) secret identities. 

Love goes 'round by evil_ontheinside - conversations in a laundry mat. mikes flopping (as in, flopping around like a fish) around a bit and this was pretty cute. 

my promise could be your fiend (could be the smallest of signs) by s0ld_it - spider man au, theres a bookstore involved and a lot of stuff. ive read this fic twice and greatly enjoyed it both times. 

Tip-toeing on Lily-pads by cherryisgone - very very fun, fantasy au and... mike gets cursed to be a frog. can only be un-cursed with a kiss.

Truthfully, Gaz thinks that the two of you are past the stage of being shy around each other. Clearly, you don’t feel that way. You’ve been avoiding his gaze the entire time he’s been sitting here while waiting for his order. The order that you didn’t take like you normally would, instead another co-worker did, who looked like this was the last thing they wanted to do. Probably works in the back, Gaz thinks as he watches you try and bargain with the same co-worker to give him his items. He watches your face fall and you bring him his bag of goodies and the coffee he ordered. “Thanks love.” He says and grins a little when you avert your eyes before briskly walking back behind the counter with a mumbled ‘have a good day’.

When he gets home, he checks his emails and sees one from Price which means only one thing. He has to report to duty soon. Gaz opens the email and scrolls through its contents, he feels his hands go clammy when he sees he’s expected to be on base for a briefing in three days. Fuck and right when you’ve become all shy for no reason. Or, Gaz thinks back to the previous night and groans to himself. 

He must’ve come on too strong. But you had been leaning in for the kiss too until the oven went off. “Fuck!” What did he do to make you clam up so tight? Gaz paces around his flat, probably driving the people in the flat below him insane, as he tries to figure out what could have happened. But he comes up empty.

So, he waits until you come home and tries not to think about how this feels like stalker behavior on his part. When he hears the familiar click-clack of your kitten heels on the tile hallway floor, he grabs his gym bag (he figured he has to have a valid excuse), and walks out of his apartment. “O-oh! Kyle. Um, didn’t realize you left around this time.” You squawk when you see him, darting your eyes away from his. He thinks he hates that most of whatever has caused you to go shy, the fact he can’t see your eyes because you’re looking anywhere but him. 

“I was just heading to the gym for a night session.” He explains and gestures to his duffel bag. You nod and unlock your door despite your clearly trembling hands.

“Well, have fun.” You chirp and you’re about to go, hand on the doorknob, before he places his hand on yours. You snap your wide eyes to him and his heartbeat quickens.

“Did I do something wrong?” He asks and you shake your head, eyes still wide. “Are you sure? If it's something I said I want to apologize, love.”

“You didn’t do or say anything.” You squeak, “I’m sorry.”

Gaz furrows his brows, “Okay.” but he’s unconvinced. 

“Okay, would you like to come over on Sunday for some more taste testing?” You ask and he winces. “Is that a bad time?”

Gaz takes a deep breath before he explains that, “I’m being deployed again, three days to be specific.” 

“But its only been a week!” You protest, “Thats not nearly long enough.” 

“I know love but-”

“Where are you going?”

“I don’t know.”

“Well, find out.” You demand. “I’m gonna send you stuff so you can still taste test even if you’re on the opposite side of the world from me.”

Gaz chuckles at your determination before he says, “Alright, I’ll let you know which base to send your cookies to.”
