Flash, honestly, didn't know when it had started. When, whatever the situation he was currently a part of had begun developing or whatever it was or had that was happening in front of him was... occurring. He knew Batman, would even say they were on somewhat friendly terms, but that never meant he would try to hug the bat. Or touch him. Or in any way say or do anything to incite his wrath. The Bats wrath was brutal and only a few JL members had had to royally piss him off for everyone to learn it. But now here he was, standing on one side of the Watchtower, watching as his nephew came careening around the corner and slammed right into Batman. Barry had flinched, fully prepared to start planning his poor nephews funeral right then and there, but Batman had barely even twitched, hands snapping out and snagging Wally, who was already prepared to run off again (smart move) around the waist, holding him back. "watch yourself. You could get hurt." Batman grunted. Wally, bless his soul, gave an apologetic wince. "sorry B." Bats hummed in response, letting him go and tousling his hair. Barry was about to faint. The young speedster flashed a smile at the looming bat and sped off again. Batman raised an eyebrow at Barry.

Superman would say he knew Batman better than any other Justice League member, save perhaps Nightwing. That didn't necessarily mean he trusted him (completely) and it definitely didn't mean that he felt safe with his child facing off against the man. Especially not with the glint in Kon's eyes as he crossed his arms, glaring up defiantly at the bat. "No one got hurt!" He was protesting. Batman glared. "But you could have been." Kon's jaw stuck out stubbornly. "but I wasn't." Batman growled, deep in the back of his throat. "That is not the point. You could have gotten hurt. You could have gotten someone else hurt!" "You cannot bench me!" Superboy snarled. "I am not one of your Ro-" before he could finish the sentence Batman grabbed his arms and yanked him forward. Clark was halfway across the room before he realized it wasn't an attack. It was a hug. Batman was clutching Kon to his chest like he might never let go, and after a second, Kon's arms wrapped around the older man's waist as well, muttering an apology. "at least take someone next time." Batman growled. Kon pressed closer in answer.

Green Arrow had never been one to shy away from a challenge, or a difficult person, but Batman was different terrain entirely, and Oliver was not willing to take that risk. Roy, however, seemed to have no such qualms. Not as he slung an arm around the mans shoulders, leaning against him as they studied the plan laid out on the table in front of them. Oliver was about to leap forward and rip him back, start apologizing or praying or offering his own arm in replacement of Roy's, but Batman didn't even bat an eye, elbowing Red gently in the ribs to get him to shift into an easier position, and point something out on the map to him. Roy hummed in agreement, nudging Bats hand to a new spot, and instead of disagreeing or glaring, Batman actually nodded, wrapping an arm around his shoulders in return. "Good. Thank you Red." Roy beamed up at him, before his hands moved to Batman's utility belt, reaching into one of the pockets with what seemed like practiced ease, tugging out a lollipop. "For a job well done!" He defended at the look Bats gave him. Batman chuckled. Oliver was going to have a meltdown.

Batman being aggressively secretive towards the Justice League is one of my favorite tropes, but it gets INFINITELY funnier when you take the younger generations of heroes into consideration.

Barry Allen? He doesn't know shit about Batman, still partially convinced he's not human, still a little bit scared to talk to him. But Wally West? That's Nightwing's best friend. He's been around Dick since both of them were kids. He's had sleepovers at the manor since he was thirteen.

I just think it would be hilarious if all of the younger generations 100% know that Batman is Bruce Wayne. They've slept at the manor, some of them have taken various Batkids to school dances, they've been offered Alfred's cooking. And all because they've gotten close to at least one Batkid and said Batkid wore Bruce down until he let them reveal their identity. But all of them manage to keep this information from their mentors. Either purposefully or completely on accident.

Then you end up with a situation where the younger generations grow up and join the League and the older members Very Quickly realize that they seem a lot more comfortable with Batman than they should be.

nah. they're really touchy amicas, tho. probably because im always touchy with my friends and it just kinda rubs off on my art. ravage is my Me character so i do end up giving him traits i have. one of those is being touchy with people he cares about 🤷‍♂️. he's especially touchy with drift as when they were grouped together in the dead end (which is where they met in my brain), ravage spent a lot of hours curled up in drift's car alt with laserbeak and buzzsaw for shelter. that touchy aspect never really left their dynamic.

and besides,

drift/deadlock's candle has always been lit for someone else.

hellooooo ive made a uc fankid oc <3 more about her under the cut, so that this post isnt a mile long <3

her name is Dyllin, because i had to, and shes SO cute. Shes got a little lopsided grin, and one dimple, and the cutest smattering of freckles on her nose right where her fur starts to turn pink. Both Rian and Atty are trans, so they raised her gender neutrally until she could tell them who she was herself (thus atty using they for her in that one art), and when she was about 3 she said she was a girl and now she wears all the pretty flowy dresses she can get her hands on (uncle foq supplies many of them)!

in the art above shes: 14, 16 (colored in), 19? (lines), ambiguous age younger than 3, 5?, and also 5. I think that ill mainly draw her as a little kid or around 14, cause those ages are where more interesting dynamics happen with people. Lots of funny kiddy moments, and growing into your own person moments. Which! is what im about in fankids! beyond just drawing a cute kid and having fun with design (which im also all about but just to give an explaination for why im drawing her at those ages). I dont think i want to go into adult ages for her yet, cause for the moment its about her being a fankid for me.

She takes after Chet and mostly Foq much more in personality than either of her actual parents, so shes a very carefree happy-go-lucky kid. To Rian's absolute horror (see below, for their rage at finding out), Foq flounces his way into being a archfey and becomes her warlock patron when shes a little kid, but its alright Aunt Scenda is her cleric deity so shes got a balance for his chaos! (she doesnt balance shit but it does make rian not kill foq over the pact so! whatever works!)
